The rooms and public areas are beautiful and well maintained. The breakfast was good. Parking easy and plentiful. It's a bit more expensive in this area than most other parts of Southern California. Also, the breakfast area is small and gets very crowded and noisy on weekends.

Spacious room, comfortable bed, nice pool area, great breakfast. Good location for visiting family in Lareda Ranch. Restaurant on site was so-so, but the hotel is near some great restaurants only a 10 minute walk away.

It was nice clean, and rooms were okay nothing to Grand, definitely overpaying a bit of what its worth had a overwhelming chemical smell appreciation of the cleanliness but doesnt have to smell like chemicals, Service was okay but always watch like a hawk as you walk in definitely off putting but they were never rude,

My husband and I stayed 1 night. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good.

The included breakfast was terrific. I appreciated the ample free parking as well.

This place has a wonderful staff. There is an on-site bar and grill with excellent food and service. A spa is also on-site but did not get a chance to try it our. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of food offerings. Will be making it my go to place whenever I go there.

The room was larger than most hotel rooms. I liked having a microwave and little frig in the room. I especially liked the ceiling fan in the room. The breakfast was fine. Pretty much like most hotels that offer complimentary breakfast. The hot tub was a nice temperature and very clean and the pool was very clean too. The hotel was sold out the weekend we were there so the noise levels in the breakfast area and lobby were greater than normal, I’m guessing. The doors to the rooms close very hard and make a loud bang, which was a bit of a nuisance, but again, probably not an issue on a regular stay when there are fewer guests. The staff is as very pleasant and parking felt secure. The hotel is located in a lovely area. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

The pool was lovely in a quiet corner with great views. Breakfast was better than most hotels with warm options, excellent coffee, real dishes and staff prepping the entire service.

There is a pool and we didn't use it. I therefore cannot speak to that. The breakfast is what I would consider a Continental plus. There are scrambled eggs, pancakes, potatoes etc served buffet style. Coffee, tea, cocoa, and cereals as well as bread options for toasting. Upon check in, we weren't told about the complementary breakfast. We were only told that we could save 10% on dinner. It wasn't until the second day that we got breakfast after noticing it on our room key. I requested a shower chair and didn't specify that I'd prefer a handicap friendly room this trip. I'd mentioned it last time and thought it was in my profile. (I'll admit that I'm used to staying in Five-star hotels and forgot that you must specify these things every time.) They brought the shower chair to us and the problem is that the room was equipped with a bathtub and no handrails. This, a person using a shower chair would have to be able to balance themselves enough to climb into the bathtub and sit on the chair safely. Completely unreasonable. Overall, again, it is clean and it is located in a safe place with an inexpensive price tag. That fit the bill for this trip.

I loved the room and found it to be clean. My problem was with the shower. I let the front desk know that when I pulled up on the faucet lever for the water to go into the shower head, it would only get less than half of the water that was coming out of the faucet up into the shower, the rest of the strong water flow kept coming out of the faucet and also it didn’t drain so I was standing in three inches of water the whole shower. They said they’d fix it and even texted while I was out for permission to enter the room as I had forgotten the “do not disturb” sign on the outside of the door when I went out. The next morning the shower was doing the exact same thing. Room service had come in but I guess not maintenance, or if they did they didn’t fix the issue. I was able to shower ok with the small amount of water that came out but it wasn’t great. The parking lot, where my bedroom window faced, was noisy but not really a problem for me. The bed was super comfortable! My disappointment was the shower. I really hated it.

Better Sofa bed as the one provided you can’t expect people to sleep on. Hotel staff messed up our booking as they arranged for us to have a 2 bed room for 3 days and a sofa and king for 3 days. I actually went into the hotel prior to our stay to set this up. When we arrived they were unable to accomodate as they had messed up the booking. We also requested a late check out to 3 as we were flying out of the country and was given a straight no upon request. Hotel also needs to have someone assisting the chef in the dining room during breakfast to clean the tables and ensure spillages are cleaned up as a priority. Thanks Phil

Overall hotel was great, beds were comfy, however smokers near entrances and staff targets certain groups during quiet hours.

The “patio” in the patio rooms are not much to write home about. They are rather small and fronted by the service road that wraps around the back of the property. But the staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Parking is easy and convenient. Included breakfast was also pretty good. Pretty good value.

During this most recent visit, we ended up moving to the Ayres Hotel & Spa next door for the remainder of our stay and slightly preferred that property overall in terms of comfort and room quality.

I like how quiet this property is, nestled in the foothills. A great starting of point for nearby adventures.

We were in the area recently for the weekend and were very happy with our choice to stay here. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and it's location is in a quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

We stayed in one of the suites, which came with a cute little patio. It was perfect for sitting down with a cup of coffee and a good book, or just enjoying some quiet time with beautiful mountain and lake views. The pool was heated & located in a separate area, which actually made it feel more quaint and relaxing. I really appreciated that they also had plenty of snacks and drinks available for purchase, so you don’t always have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and the beds were comfortable which made the stay even more relaxing. The breakfast was just average with a limited selection, but the service from the staff member preparing it was excellent and made up for it. Overall, I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Mission Viejo!

My stay was a complete disaster from start to finish. The first night, I had to switch rooms because of a dog barking nonstop. Not occasional noise—constant, disruptive barking that made it impossible to relax or sleep. While the staff did move me, that’s where any semblance of resolution ended. The second room was somehow worse. I dealt with loud, persistent banging throughout the night—walls, ceilings, who knows—but it went on for hours. Again, sleep was out of the question. It felt like there was zero sound insulation and zero regard for guest comfort. By the next night, I’d had enough. It got so bad that I packed up and drove all the way back to Arizona at 9:30 at night just to escape the noise and frustration. That’s how unbearable the situation was. To make matters worse, they refused to reimburse me for the unused night—even after everything that happened. No accountability, no effort to make it right, just a shrug and a charge on my card. For a brand I’ve trusted my entire life, this was beyond disappointing. It was unacceptable. Between the noise issues, the lack of proper resolution, and the refusal to stand behind their service, I won’t be staying at any Ayres property again. If you value sleep, basic comfort, and quiet.. stay elsewhere.

The rooms are great with everything you need including a wet bar with coffee, refrigerator, and microwave. So very clean and easy check in and out. Breakfast every morning is fantastic and different every day. That alone is worth staying here as it saves you money on having to go out for breakfast everyday of your stay. This was our second time staying here and we loved every minute of it and highly recommend staying here! When in town we will always stay here, for sure!!

Breakfast: I wish/suggest the kitchen changes its selections if not every single day, at least every 2 days. I stayed there for 4 nights, the selections of food: THE SAME. Thank you for listening.

One major problem; all rooms are sprayed with a “perfumy” disinfectant which was way too strong in our room and almost unbearable. We opened the window, turned on the bathroom fan, went to dinner and the smell was still pungent. We wore masks to bed and it didn’t help much. They didn’t offer to switch rooms as staff said all rooms smelled that way. Otherwise, the room was quiet, clean and bug free. No complimentary water, except for the water dispenser on the second floor;(BYOB). Breakfast was very good.

This is my third time at this hotel, on business travel. The front desk staff is always courteous. The morning buffet is always well stocked. And there is staff available in the dining room for the complimentary breakfast. A really good value for the price

Staff here was nice, amenities were great but breakfast ended at 9 instead of 10 and gym closed at 10 vs 11. Most places we've been to had breakfast until 10; that extra hour can make the difference when you have jetlagged kids with you. Price point was good but consider that it's far from interesting things and not walkable. The real offense and why I took away some stars was the patio, don't bother paying extra for it. It was a table with 2 chairs on pretty much a sidewalk that was a fire lane, would have never paid extra for that.

We did have a problem with the water heater... it would randomly turn off when someone was taking a shower or doing dishes. I was informed previous guests had complained about this issue and the gas lines needed to be replaced. Nevertheless, not everyone in our family could take showers everyday because of this issue... Other than that, I'd recommend it, very nice cabin!

We stayed one week. House keepers came 3 times ( no problem with that). 1st time left us with no wash cloths. 2nd time they came left us with no additional toilet paper .. I retrieved a roll myself from housekeepers cart. 3rd time left with no handtowels. Called front desk and explained and they said "Oh"..no sorry ir anything. Just "Oh". Could not believe it. Hotel is fine. Housekeeping in my opinion not so fine. Hotel was busy and finally after 3 days of people eating breakfast wherever in lobby because breakfast room was full, hotel finally pushed back curtains and opened another seating area....about 3 days to late.

First of all our room and the entire hotel was very clean. The staff let us check in very early, as we had a wedding to attend and we had to change our clothes after a very long car drive. Our beds were very comfortable, and the room was a good size. The only issue was the bathroom, which was too small. The shower combination tub was small and could use a remodel.

The hotel was cozy and cute, away from everything, beautiful grounds, great nite before my 5k at the lake.

Room is basic, bed was comfortable though. Breakfast was decent, same each day. Hotel was in a quiet location and all staff was friendly. We went to Disney and it was about a 30 min drive but wasn’t bad at all and much nice then the Disney area hotel. Would return for another stay.

The room was very clean and I cleaned over what was clean so that’s how I know. Very reasonable price for me for sun-Thursday I paid about $400. It might not always be like that. I loved the area, very beautiful and it’s 30 mins away from Disney rather than 20-25. I didn’t mind, I loved. I usually don’t tip for breakfast that’s included but I also appreciated that there was breakfast available.

We did have a little incident that woke us up in the night, once at midnight and then around 3am... noise that we first thought was coming from outside our window. My husband investigated further and recorded what sounded like rats in the wall. Other than that incident all staff were friendly. The property was well maintained. Continental breakfast was good as well. We would stay again in the future.

I’ve been using Ayres Suites for several years now, it’s been consistently nice, good breakfast and usually good service, best room rates around. They appear to be understaffed (like many places unfortunately), room cleanings were skipped and only one person behind the desk which made for a long wait for help because they were on the phone. When I booked this time the property boasted of “recently renovated”, yet nothing has changed in the last 4 plus years. Despite my not being fully satisfied as noted above, it’s still a very good value for the money, and the staff rectified the issues I had. I will happily stay there again.

Didn’t eat breakfast

Ayres is hot breakfast with fresh fruits and oatmeal. Scrambled eggs are powdered mix. Toilet seats are too low--made for midgets; good thing my crown jewels aren't alabaster.

We walked in after not being able to find a good hotel around 11:30 and the staff was so friendly. We got a room and everything was so clean! The rooms are nice and up to date. The breakfast is so good!

So, the place is supposed to have "suites" and to me, that means a door to a bedroom separate from the living area. That's not what we got, we got a larger room with a couch that folds out. This is fine if it is listed properly. If you have children, as I do, this is an issue and it's misleading.

The hotel was decent but there were so many kids running g around that we couldn’t relax. No way to use the pool when there are 30 screaming kids in it. Our toilet kept getting clogged and the lock plate for the door was stripped so the door wouldn’t close. We waited a good chunk of time for someone to come fix not to mention the 2 inch gap under the door that let all the noise from the kids screaming and running around in. No, we won’t be back.

I liked this hotel. It was very good value for the price and it was in a great location. Easy to get to Laguna Beach, but away from all the hullabaloo.

First room I was checked into had a lot of mosquitos on the bed, I had to request to be moved to a different room. I had no issues once I moved . Second room was very clean and comfortable.

The property is exceptional. The room was just wonderful. The grounds were wonderful. I can't believe the entry way is Just so welcoming and so gorgeous. Only One thing I would like to mention is somewhat negative and In somewhat private, the toilets are too low to the ground.

The entire staff was friendly and efficient, but Chandler was extra helpful. Breakfast was really well done and all the options anyone could want, no matter your spectrum of diet. Hot protein options, as well as fruits, yogurts, hot waffles, cereals, breads etc. Juices, coffee. I enjoyed my stay completely and even returned for a day a week later at end of my trip because the fine service drew me back to feel pampered at the end of my trip to LA.

Driving back from SD headed home to Simi valley and decided to relax and stay the night here. So lucky we found this place. The room was exactly what we wanted, spacious, clean, smell clean, quiet, clean bathroom, comfy bed and more. The lobby and staff were so kind. The pool and the sunset was so relaxing. Will keep this place in mind for next time

I have booked at this hotel for many years for an annual event held only 2 miles down the road. Definitely a plus all the way around. Breakfast included is definitely a plus!!!

Spacious quiet room and friendly staff. The hot breakfast was great. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and they really need new pillows.

The attention to detail was excellent. Staff were so helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

This is an over-hyped property that hasn't been updated since the 90s. I can't understand how their rating is so high. Bar opens at 4...restaurant closes early....rooms are blah.

Quiet, clean and staff very friendly .. AC a little bit noisy .. maybe because it’s an old system, otherwise everything else has been working good 😊

Hallway and room carpets dirty. Foul mildew and damp smell in room and hotel hallways. I had to purchase a plug in room deodorizer to help with the bad odors. on the cleaning day staff failed to replenish the coffee creamer and stirrer package. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great stay

Advertisement showed bacon and sunny side up eggs served for breakfast. Two of the families’ favorite breakfast food. We were looking forward, especially the kiddos. But disappointed because none were served the two days we ate breakfast there. But overall breakfast food was satisfactory - better than other hotels out there. Good overall stay.

The decor in the room is beautiful. I especially loved the ceiling fan. I liked the sink next to the microwave and refrigerator.

Everything was excellent

The room had an unpleasant smell i bought some fabreeze to try to mask the scent, the ac unit didnt work, the bathtub is nasty dirty i wouldnt shower in them. First time staying here i wouldnt return.

Such a great stay!!! The room was very clean, the breakfast was very lovely and everyone made you feel at home. Jacinto at the front desk was so helpful and pleasant! They’re so lucky to have him as an employee he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed.

The facility was quite nice, and the staff were pleasant and accomodating in meeting our needs. The cost was better than surrounding facilities of like quality.

Only had one issue, it was with one of the staff members (younger man/woman*they/them?*) that was working the front desk on Thursday June 26th. The person was giving attitude

The property was clean and attractively landscaped. The interior was well kept and the maids did an excellent job of keeping our room pristine. All staff was friendly and welcoming. Additionally, everything in the room was in good working order. The breakfast buffet was yummy!

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great. The bedding quality can be improved as the sheets were scratchy and irritating.

The staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I have had in hotel like this, the room was very nice. I would consider this hotel one step up from the usual suite chain hotels.

Rooms were very clean and it smelled good!

Everything was good however I payed the deposit a month ago and is still on hold, and the hotel does not respond my emails about it. I stayed 2 times and I did not get back the deposit for any time.

My only comment is that the room could have used a small couch in place of the office table. There's no comfortable seating in the room.

Friendly staff and clean rooms and community area. Breakfast was not bad but theur juice machine was broken. And their ice machine was also broken and i needed to ice my daughter's ankle from a twist at a basketball tournament that we were their for. Otherwise everything went well. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was concenient and safe and free so that was a plus

Service and breakfast are great

Second time we have stayed at an Ayers Hotel (first time at this one.) Always a good experience. This one was very well maintained and had great staff (one even gave us a complimentary upgrade when we noted we had issues with elevators.) The breakfast experience was good, although they had a temporary issue with the juice machine. Room was terrific, as it was well laid out, spacious, and had a very above average tub/shower layout. Overall well worth the money we spent.

It has some wear and tear in rooms but overall, it’s very clean not too far of a drive to nearby stores. There’s a great restaurant at the hotel would recommend to anyone staying.
