The Westin Minneapolis

Exceptional

Decided to turn a two night stay into a one night. Never could get a refund for the second night. Hotels says it’s on Westin. Westin says it’s on Hotels. I’m tired of trying. They’re both getting a bad review. Rooms were clean and lovely however.

Excellent place to say. Is close to everything you can explore in downtown. The hotel is very fine.

We had a pleasant stay at the Westin; however, there were a few opportunities for improvement. We were not given washcloths for the second day and the ice machine on our floor didn't work. In addition, the property did not offer typical Westin amenities, such as the toiletry kit (with makeup remover, cotton balls, q-tips, etc.) that I am accustomed to receiving. I select Westins because I know that I won't have to bring these items on my trip. In all, it was a good stay.

Bed was comfortable The TV did not work, refrigerator had somebody’s leftover vegetables and a half a bottle of water. I took pictures felt I should get a refund. place did not have airport shuttle. Also parking across the street was an inconvenience.

The reception/desk staff were incredibly polite, patient, knowledgeable, and kind. The hotel itself is quite nice and felt like a great mix of historical existing touches and modernity - with nice beds and bathroom products. I do wish there had been a hotel guide in the room to give ideas on things to do in the hotel and surrounding area. However, the desk staff gave us feedback on a dinner choice we had made which reassured us. Parking was challenging in the garage they suggested (Marquette st) as we drive a Dodge Ram 1500, but we chose a different garage later (on 6th across from hotel) and were able to maneuver in and out a little easier there. We did not try the hotel restaurant as we felt it was very overpriced. I'm sure it was great - it's very pretty and they had plenty of diners. The pool area was nice but there were no towels at 8pm when we went - some folks took them from the gym across the hall I think and gave us their extras. Overall a nice stay and it was fun to be downtown vs further out from the activities we came for.

Could use some sort of table or desk to put things on. Nowhere to put anything except the nightstand and the bathroom counter is too small. Whole place was clean, staff was great!

Clean room/location was perfect. Enjoyed being on the hot tub.

Very clean I didn't get my deposit back! So I was double charged. I paid through Booking.com and had to pay a deposit when I got to the hotel. Never got returned.

Exceptional

Had a really great stay for 3 nights last week. One week prior I had stayed one night but I had an issue but to my surprise, a few days later, I had a very nice professional email from Mark the GM who smoothed it out. I believe he was the GM at Ivy for a while, which speaks volumes, as it’s certainly one of the best hotels in Minneapolis. I also had a lot of great service from J at the front desk who made sure I had a great room. The room was super nice, great view, clean, and had high ceilings and nicely sized bathroom. Will not hesitate to book there again.
