Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its convenient location and polite staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of air conditioning, cleanliness issues, and outdated furnishings. Noise from the nearby highway is also a common complaint.
- Convenient location
- Polite staff
- Lack of air conditioning
- Cleanliness issues

Staff good ,heater stuck on when temperature was hot. Noisy location by freeway .
- 3/5
The accommodations were quaint. Close by to local stores. Room was clean and the costs was low but satisfying well kept.
- 4.5/5
Good, solid, basic, clean motel. Location was excellent for the event I was attending.
- 3/5
Location No A/C
- 4/5
Definitely tired, but fine for a good nights rest.
- 2/5
we were gone! we stayed for 4 days, we had to ask to clean the room!
- 5/5
The bed was super comfortable. The windows are very thick and have solid wood blinds that close completely blocking out the light and muffling the noise from the nearby freeway. This place was perfect for us. If you need a place to stay on a budget that is close enough to Muir woods and the beaches north of San Francisco, this is a great option. It was clean, the showers had good pressure and got nice and hot. There was a good sized refrigerator for a hotel room, more than a tiny mini fridge I've seen in lots of them. Each room had a microwave as well.
- 3/5
From the outside you can tell the hotel had not been updated. The place just looked old and could have used a coat of paint. The interior was very modest and also needed some TLC. I spotted insects multiple times during my two night stay and one cockroach on my last day. Yuck! A lamp on the dresser near the bed would have been nice. The staff was nice enough to provide me extra towels. Good enough for me, but would have been embarrassed had I brought my wife here. Conveniently located to gas stations.
- 4/5
Great value Clean. Would have liked a cup of Tea
- 3/5
Little noisy as it is next to the highway- very dated
- 4/5
It was fine for the price. Nothing special but clean, did not smell bad and the bed was fine. Ok if you are just looking for a inexpensive place to stay for the night. Restaurants about 1/2 mile down the road.
- 4/5
This is a nice motel and certainly is very much worth the price. The beds were very comfortable and there was a microwave, a mini fridge and a small table and chair along with an additional fan provided in the room. This was useful because of the traffic noise.
- 4/5
It is close to My destination; easy to get to and easy to leave. N/A
- 4/5
Yes
- 3.5/5
Some of the interior finishes were installed in the oddest of ways, like nice tile that is crooked. Nothing terrible though.
- 2.5/5
the fans worked. Good location for what we were in the area to attend. That's about it. disabled room - wall mounted shower seat broken. Shower head mounted so high we had to use a cane to get it out of its holder. You could not reach the toilet paper roll holder while seated on the toilet. No hair dryer provided in room.
- 3/5
Good value for the price. Clean with accommodating staff. Next to 101 so road travel
- 3/5
Near hiking Right on the freeway, super basic furnishings
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable and everything I needed for a work night.
- 5/5
Nothing fancy. But for what it is great!
- 3.5/5
I didn't like that it didn't have enough towels and toilet paper but I asked for items they gave them to me with no problem
- 5/5
Great customer service and cleanliness
- 1/5
I froze all night, no heater, no one at front desk, miserable experience
- 4/5
I’ve stayed twice at this motel. The staff is very nice. The first time I stayed was better than the second. It’s a fine motel if you’re of the mindset you get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Nothing
- 0.5/5
Drove from Phoenix Arizona just need a quick nap before I reached my destination. Turned on light in the room saw a cockroach haven't seen one in years. Asked lady if I could get a refund she tried giving me the room next to it which was more filthy had dirty carpet. Told her I couldn't do it she said okay she would let booking know to refund me. Then when I called because booking said they didn't respond she said I was making excuses... that there is no roaches. Dishonest people dirty rooms do not stay here!
- 4/5
Convenient location. Freeway proximity good, and noise was not an issue. Great price for Marin County, and no negatives to report. All was fine.
- 2/5
Horrible don’t stay. Weird smell. Bed was firm
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous and friendly! Room was very comfortable and amenities were great! Will certainly stay again! Thank you so much!!
- 5/5
Location, safety, The staff were owners, I think, are owners . Nothing liked everthing,
- 4.5/5
staff nothing
- 2.5/5
Old, dated, no amenities
- 1/5
Had a very bad experience,
- 2/5
Old school. It’s ok. It’s just takes a loooong time to get HOT water. That’s not good. The water heater. Takes a looooong time for the HOT water.
- 3/5
Old place, quaint, but really run-down. There is construction right in front, making it quite dusty and noisy during the day. Price is on point, it is CHEAP, but don’t expect any amenities. There is not an ice machine. Next door to Strawberry Village, a nice shopping destination with a latprge Starbucks. And, In and Out is steps away!
- 1/5
This place was really bad at night time some bugs started to bite I was itching all the way to my house, I went stray to take a shower and throw the clothes I was wearing in my washer, also I asked for a quiet room, and all night I could hear the loud neighbors they soo loud, sorry but never again!
- 5/5
Great price and near Mill Valley and Sausalito and the freeway. Staff were super helpful. When I left my laptop charging in the room after checking out, they called me right away and held it until I could get back that evening to pick it up.
- 5/5
There’s an area of shops close by
- 4/5
Room was clean & comfortable. No robe or towel hooks in the bathroom. Had to run the sink hot water in order to eventually get shower hot water. Staff did solve the initial TV issues.
- 5/5
- 4/5
Good location off the freeway and near gorgeous nature.
- 1/5
Traffic noise from 101 really loud; No AC so with windows closed no ventilation. Carpet is filthy and didn’t feel good walking barefoot. Cockroach in bathtub. When I went to get the towel off the rack, the entire rack popped off the supports on the wall. Didn’t plug anything into the outlets as was worried it was sketchy. All furniture is old, dingy and covered with scrapes and dings. This is not a cool old motel that’s been renovated and looks great - this is an old motel that hasn’t had anything except paint. Avoid.
- 1/5
Sulina is helpful
- 5/5
Reasonable price, so nice and convenient stay.
- 5/5
Room's are clean & nice
- 2/5
This place was old and outdated. The room was cramped and creepy.
- 4/5
Hotel was ok nothing special great place to rest but the bathroom was small I was not able to move inside the shower without getting hit in that tight space also it’s next to the freeway so there is a lot of noise… The clerk was very nice and helpful with all our questions the only down fall was the noise and the bathroom but other then that the place was clean and very nice
- 4/5
Close to where I needed to be
- 2/5
It was a cheap night. You get what you pay for.
- 4/5
Luxury towels, crispy sheets. Motel is dated and furniture definitely could use some TLC but the room functional, two beds and super clean and affordable.
- 5/5
It was a very nice stay. The beds and pillows were really nice and comfortable. It's older, but it has it's charm. It's right next to the freeway and you can hear the cars, but otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful. The only thing I wish it had was bedside lamps. Otherwise our room was had two rooms, one for each bed and I really liked that. The managers were very nice and helpful as well.
- 4/5
It was clean, well kept. Definitely lacking air conditioning but offered fans in lieu of a/c. Friendly and helpful. Easy to access off the highway. Definitely good if all you need is a spot to lay your head and get ready.
- 3/5
There was one small plastic drinking cup individually wrapped in a package that had already been opened. The staff was very kind and try to be as accommodating as possible.
- 3/5
This is an older property and lacking in basic creature comforts such a bedside lamp. Nights stands old and scratched up. One of the queen side bend offering narrow path to the bathroon.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and the room was nice and cozy.
- 5/5
The room was super clean and the office people were very nice
- 5/5
Very nice property. Close to main roads. Comfortable.
- 5/5
It’s clean and centrally located. Less than half the price of local hotels. Located just 100 feet from the 101 freeway, it’s slightly noisy. I would stay again.
- 5/5
A good price for a nice stay in Mill Valllry.
- 5/5
Small and quaint. Clean. It is in the frontage road, so you do hear some traffic, but in the room it wasnt bad. There isnt an air conditioner, however, the room faced South, so it was a comfortable temperature
- 3/5
Room very simple. No liquid soaps. No amenities. Ok for the price and decent location
- 1/5
In the reservation I did not realize the number of people but when I made the reservation I asked for a room with 2 beds, we were going as a family, the person who attended us asked for the numbers of the members and we told him the amount and he gave us the key and everything We were there for two days and the last night we only got to sleep because we weren't there but the lady came angry 😡 and said that we had to pay for each one and my wife explained to her that she agreed to give us the room and she made fun and said that she would talk to her police wing and charged an extra charge. I don't recommend this place 🙅♀️I give it a 0 Estella
- 5/5
good price and nice place
- 2/5
I’m not presently happy with this property as my credit card was billed twice for the same amount and they’ve not processed the transaction yet so I’ve got a considerable amount of money being held for a transaction that should only have been run once.
- 4/5
Very nice location
- 2/5
Loud road noise, no maker, gross bathroom.
- 5/5
Not able to access bathroom with a walker and steps entering office and room.
- 1/5
The place is gross super filthy.
- 3/5
I was disappointed to not have coffee or the continental breakfast they once offered!! I was denied my Pomchi and I explained she was a service dog everything was fine!! In the morning when I returned my key the office apologized and I appreciated that !! I have a wonderful 2 days in Tiburon.
- 2/5
The place just seemed cheaply maintained, kinda dirty
- 2/5
Unfortunately, the room had mold either in carpets or in windows...I'm veryy allergic to mold and could smell musty odor as soon as i opened the door...and had an allergic reaction within an hour of being in room.
- 4/5
no ice machine
- 5/5
Service
- 2/5
I liked nothing except the bed. Bad directions, on top of a very freeway. The bed was good. This place is adequate for a night. Whatever I paid was okay, I guess. The whole place is a typical old motel with updates that had no thought for anything. I rarely get hooked on these kinds of places and I was sorry I rented there.
- 2/5
Also to their detriment, no coffee in the room.
- 3/5
For the price, you don't get much. The room was relatively clean, but there are NO frills other than a fridge and microwave. No literature in the room (no idea how to use the two tv remotes), no food, feels like a kind of unsafe neighborhood (clerk stays behind a bullet proof window), no place to put your luggage, tiny bathroom.
- 5/5
Very clean.
- 4/5
Location is hard to beat. +1. Easy check in check out. +1. Comfy bed. +1. 4 stars. It’s slightly run down. Not exactly a romantic get away location. It was not the most clean. - 1
- 2/5
One word. Affordable. Dirty. Bad wifi. Crummy toiletries. Just affordable.
- 3/5
Great location with access to Road into Muir Woods and Stinson Beach. Nice Safeway Center nearby. Gas station nearby. Few amenities but clean and affordable units.
- 4/5
Great location for what we needed. Nothing fancy, but worked out well. No A/C in the room, to keep it cool, we needed to leave windows open, but then we'd hear traffic. Other than that, it was perfect for a place to stay for the night.
- 5/5
very friendly staff
- 2/5
The room appeared to be reasonable other than the strong fowl smell when I opened the door. One window was left open so they were working on it I think. It was late so I opened windows and went to sleep. By morning it smelled better. Not a $170.00 room.
- 2/5
This motel is cute on the outside but really falling apart inside. Carpet stains, old furniture, mold. The list goes on. Truly, just book something else.
- 5/5
Beautiful location, and a simple, old motel that was clean, comfortable, nostalgic and convenient.
- 4/5
Everything was good except for the pillows, they were to thick for my neck
- 3/5
Endowment for the price.
- 3/5
Conveniently located, nice staff, but the place is very, very old and used.
- 4/5
Good stay, easy check in and out. Great location!
- 5/5
This is a lovely place. The mineral pool and hot tub was nice to come back to after a day at Joshua Tree
- 1/5
The room was $125 it was dirty it was loud it was overpriced I couldn't sleep the bed was unsteady the sheets were dirty disappointed very very disappointed
- 4/5
I didn’t like the noisy atmosphere close to Highway101 and the freeway. I didn’t like the fact that there was no breakfast, even coffee, offered!
- 5/5
The man that checked me in and out was super nice. Everything was clean and I felt safe after I went through and locked all of the windows (every window was behind shutter and unlocked, you have to pull but the shutters open and you can lock the windows) it was nice and quiet, had a fridge and microwave. I only wish they allowed pets so I could have brought my dog.
- 5/5
Great experience. The hotel was right next to the highway and we were worried about the traffic noise. Once we got into the room there was no noise. We also asked for a room that was further into the corner because of this. The owner said it was a more expensive room because it had two beds instead of one. But he did not charge us extra. It was a very nice of him.
- 2/5
First room had no fridge or microwave. I booked this property for those. I travel with meals to reheat. Finally the third room had them. There also was no fan in the room, only a heater. Made it for an uncomfortable sleep with stale air. Great shower head though.
- 3/5
I have zero lights, no remote for the tv. The tv I can easily do without. No lights is not worth the price of the room.
- 4/5
Great location, just right off the highway
- 5/5
The staff are easy going and the parking is close to the rooms. The rooms and bed are comfortable and very clean.
- 5/5
Cleanliness of room and bathroom. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
- 1/5
The heater in the room not wirking properly
- 4/5
Its okey
- 5/5
We needed a place for one night after a wedding. This worked for us - it was near both the ceremony and the reception. The bed was very comfortable. Traffic noise could be a problem for some, as this motel is very close to hwy 101. Also, someone heavyset would have difficulty in the bathroom, which is very narrow, and the toilet is stuck behind the sink. We were pleased that there was a McDonald's very close for breakfast, although no sidewalk to walk there. An In N Out was close if we'd been around for lunch.
- 3/5
Covenient, adequate, and good value.
- 4/5
Good location, clean rooms. Polite staff
- 5/5
everything was great, service cleanroom safe parking I love the place recommended to everyone.
- 4/5
Drawbacks - our room didn’t have any bedside lamps, no cups... and oddly no art on the walls. The staff were friendly. We would stay here again if up that way.
- 3/5
At least the bed was comfortable. The room had no carpet and an end table that was beaten up and scratched. The whole thing reminded me of a hotel in the 1950s. Pictures, I mean. At least I wasn't there much!
- 1/5
There was a locked door inside the room that led to nothing but at night had scratching, dripping, and clanking sounds coming from it. One chair was sticky and covered in glitter. There was a crumpled up viagra package in the closet. There was blood in the nightstand. the carpet and blankets were stained. The peephole in the door was just a hole with no glass.
- 4/5
Perfectly pleasant stay - remarkably quiet given its location beside the freeway. Bed was comfortable and service was very friendly. No complaints.
- 5/5
This little motel was one of the best I’ve stayed in. We stayed just overnight as a stop on our road trip along the PCH. The room was very clean. The shower was HOT! Just what I needed after a day of driving. The bed was comfortable. Instead of an AC unit there was a giant fan. It was just right since the temperature outside was not too hot. The cute lady at the front desk was very sweet and accommodating. Parking was easily accessible and it was easy to get right back onto the freeway when we were ready to hit the road again.
- 5/5
I had a good stay - the staff was friendly and was just right for the money!
- 5/5
Such a classic feel to this motel. Updated bedding and linens in
- 3/5
Not very clean. The bathroom was not very clean. One packet of shampoo, soap, and lotion.
- 2/5
Bare bones facility extremely overpriced. Old beat up furniture, old tub had anti-slip bottom that was black from wear. No lamps, just one glaring ceiling light. No ice, no vending machines. Sheets were too small for bed.
- 4/5
The charge was economical and the arrangement worked.
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
The motel has upgraded beds mattress equal to high end hotel. Small but clean rooms ..good smell and windows even in bathroom..I felt safe and content and staff and management very nice and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
The hot water was barely warm enough to take a comfortable shower.
- 4/5
The room temp was Very warm.. took a while to cool the room down.. no AC just a fan.. the noise of fan on all night was Annoying.. had trouble sleeping first night. Bed sheets were noisy when moving around..
- 5/5
Will return
- 3/5
Average for an older motel. Wall heater and older door with Kwkset type door knob lock and old dead bolt lock.
- 4/5
Cozy older motel that has been updated and well maintained. No hair dryer. No coffee maker either but Mc Donald's is a 2 minute walk
- 4/5
The rooms were small but nicely furnished and clean. Overall experience was higher convenience and comfort for a much lower price than other "budget" hotels near by.
- 5/5
It was awesome the only thing was that the heater was working kind of slow
- 3/5
It was convenient to 711 and the bus line. The beds were really comfy, but it was supposed to be 1 queen, 1 full. Instead it was 2 fulls and my man and i couldn't sleep comfortably. We ended up putting both mattresses on the floor next to each other, which was kind of a pain in the ass. The tub didn't drain and one set of wooden shutters wouldn't stay shut. Fortunately we're exhibitionists, so we didn't really mind.
- 3/5
Lady was very nice did not like bathroom no shower curtain beds were a little small
- 3/5
Hard to review this property... It's a bare bones motel right off a busy freeway with all the noise traffic that implies. And it's very expensive for what it is, but it's the cheapest option around when you fly in late and only have a few hours to get some sleep and then get back on the road. Room badly needs updating, but the bed is comfortable. Bathroom is tiny with zero counter space, but it was clean. Would I stay here for more than a short night - no. Would I stay here again when I only had 6 hours to sleep and shower - probably.
- 1/5
Right on the freeway. Old and worn everything. Dingy, smelly with air fresheners used to mask the old worn out carpet, bedding, etc.
- 2/5
No AC and not noted in Expedia's listing. No screen in windows, kind of important with no ac, fan on wall. Carpet filthy. Old building and interior not very well maintained. Way over priced.
- 2/5
This motel is old and leaves a lot to be desired. The access and parking is very poor, tight parking, shrubs need trimmed so hard to see getting out to a busy street. Near the freeway too, so lots of road noise. No air conditioning so windows had to be opened for fresh air, but noisy. The wi-fi services was very spotty, not dependable. I had to walk out to the street to the office for coffee in the morning - only available from 7:30 to 9:30. The only good thing was clean towels and sheets, room pretty clean. I won't stay here again!
- 1/5
I've already sent it I don't need to say anymore and somebody stands between a 10 inch piece of glass and they're on the Expedia for a hotel room there's something wrong with this picture
- 3/5
The mattresses are WY Too Soft; no reading kight ; have to ask the manager for ice; freeway noisec is manageable at night; rooms can get rather warm——-
- 5/5
This hotel is centrally located in Marin County and is an excellent value for the area. It’s a bit dated, but my suite was clean, no odors, no dust, a comfy bed, a fan, clean carpet, and very good water pressure in the shower. I would stay here again to save $200 plus per night that other local hotels charge while I am traveling for business.
- 5/5
Small rooms but they are clean. Small showers that don't get too hot but hot enough. They provide soap and shampoo in small one-use packages so bring your own in case you need more. Adequate parking. Staff was courteous. The beds are very comfortable. The pillows are firm, better than other pricier hotels. Rooms have small fridge and microwave. Short drive/walk from grocery store. Great location on access road next to freeway. Open the windows to get a nice breeze. Would definitely stay here again. We liked it a lot.
- 1/5
Only in Marin could a tint, not cared for room, command such an outrageous price. But again this Marin county close to San Francisco. In fairness, asa well traveled individual- and 30 year home owner in Marin, cost in this area has far outstripped rest of the country (a few exceptions). This motel of last resort mirrors the value and quality proposition unique to this area.
