Very convenient and affordable for Marin County visit. Easy access to Mt. Tamalpais.
- 3/5
Smoke detectors inoperable had exposed wires
- 3/5
Property was clean and in good repair for a very basic room. Nothing fancy but a great value and extremely close to Sausalito, Mill Vally, Larkspur and the Marin Headlands. I just need a room to sleep in and it fit the need well.
- 2/5
I have a service dog they are not familiar with the rules and laws of service dogs I was in constant struggle with staff about pricing always tried to overcharge me I stayed in a room that needs a lot of repairs Shower does not work properly Cold and hot water mixed up Door to room never worked properly Reported the smoke alarm wiring exposed never repaired during my 8 days at hotel Each item reported and ignored The housekeeping staff excellent they are worked to death! It felt like I was being singled out and disrespected as well as discriminated against by management staff. Always pushing to charge higher than published room rates. I had to book a couple of additional nights because of FIFA everything sold out or inflated pricing. It was a fight to get decent rate even with my past bookings
- 5/5
Clean room in convenient area. Friendly staff
- 3/5
Just a basic place close to the Muir woods
- 2/5
Liked the lady at the front desk - very sweet and helpful. Disliked: room wasn’t very clean, room and amenities were overall ran down.
- 1.5/5
Over priced for a motel. Yikes Chairs in rooms were gross. Very dusty in room
- 1.5/5
The location only The chairs were so dirty. No amenities. Motel not a lodge
- 4/5
The room was very clean, good beds, microwave and small refrigerator. Even though the motel is located next to a busy street it was very quiet. We had an issue with a noisy A/C unit (a crazy high pitched squeal). But, it was a temperate day and we didn't use it. The management was very receptive to having it fixed.
- 2/5
Not muirs woods friendly. No trees. Right beside busy road. I will not stay there again. Microwave did not work and they were not going to replace it. Small rooms. But clean
- 5/5
Lovely staff, perfectly nice place to stay the night

Easy arrival nice and. Clean
- 4/5
I suggest checking multiple sources when securing a room. Sometimes calling direct is better sometimes going through a 3rd party service is better. The room was very clean and everything worked correctly. Parking is tight if you are the getting there late. Turning left to Mill Valley can be a challenge due to the road and driveway placement.
- 3.5/5
Convenient location. Room was in a state of disrepair.
- 5/5
Nice motel. The only issue was the location. It was close to lots of restaurants and shops but none were walkable.
- 4/5
Great place to stay for the good price it offers the coffee machine in the lobby is awesome. They offer Starbucks and Petes coffee through the machine. The route was clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower had adequate pressure solid deal.
- 2/5
Spacious room but was really dirty. Everything in the room was smashed up, old, or dirty. The location itself was nice and the beds were comfortable but you could tell the walls hadn’t been cleaned and there was paint chipping from all the furniture. Overall, would pick a different place in the area.
- 1/5
Motel was dirty smelly and poorly maintained. A/C units were stacked against the wall. Waiting for repairs?

The new ownership is very nice and helpful. Free coffee in the morning and the rooms are very nice for what it is. Jump off point to anything Bay Area and would definitely stay again when in area.
- 2.5/5
Actually got quieter with the ac running. Good water in the lobby. Access due to highway. Upstairs walk way is tilted and seems to be collapsing. Tight room, only view was the highway and ugly buildings.

small. Convenient. simple. locqtion is perfect. property is older but well maintained it's older

- 3/5
Updated nicely a few years ago, but not maintained. The shower fixtures were falling off the wall and the sink drained super slowly. The website said “daily service” but I had to ask for 3 days before I got any new towels, trash collected, new sheets or the floor cleaned.
- 1/5
Free parking
- 3/5
Glad we got a room on the back side, away from the highway. Room was very small, but good to get some sleep... don't plan to spend any extra time in room you don't need to.
- 3/5
Based on what I was looking for in a hotel for the evening, I would’ve given this place 4 stars had that problem been resolved and had my room been ready when I checked it at 4:00 PM. (no towels and final bed coverings). however, I will reiterate, the gal who stalked my room and check in person were very pleasant welcoming.
- 5/5
Each room has all the helpful items including microwave and a bathtub I enjoyed.
- 3/5
The floors are very dirty and need to be mopped!!!
- 5/5
The AC did not work in our unit
- 2/5
Netflix was not connected. Rooms need to be cleaned better. The refrigerator and microwave need cleaning. The chairs in the room are super dirty with brown stains. Great location. Easy parking just needs to improve its cleanliness along with better customer service. The people at reception can be very rude.
- 2/5
Parking is easy and convenient. However the staff was not able to help my family and I figure out how Netflix works. There was no wifi service in the room. And when I asked the owner to help me get it connected to Netflix she was not very happy to assist me. Also the rooms smell like cigarettes. The refrigerator is useful but it needs to be cleaned. There was some white powder next to the refrigerator which made it very inviting, made it look dirty. There are two armchairs in the room color cream but they are so dirty, they need to be cleaned so guests can actually sit on them. Because they are made out of cloth they have stains and look really dirty. The floor needs to be cleaned better. If one takes their shoes off and walks in the room the dirty floor turns the feet brown. My family needed to use the microwave but it was filthy! We asked the receptionist to clean it and she gave me an old rag and windex so I can clean it myself. The location is great and think e has potential if only they would clean the rooms better and provide friendlier customer service.
- 3/5
It was okay for the price, good for just some place to sleep and shower.
- 4/5
Easy to find check in and Slumber. Walls are a bit then. But didnt disrupt my stay. I checked in late and was the last guest of the night. My remote didn’t turn on the tv or handle the volume but i did it manually; No Prob
- 5/5
You're going to have a hard time finding a place cheaper that is still acceptable.
- 5/5
Clean, spacious room with comfortable beds in a convenient location.
- 5/5
The room was clean and quiet. The parking space is just in front of the room, and the staff was polite and efficient.
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable, affordable room. Check in was warm and welcoming. Restaurants and coffee shops were within walking distance. Parking was easy. ONLY downside was traffic noise as this property is right on Route 1 and Hwy.101 is nearby. Bring earplugs
- 1/5
Old hotel needs allot of updating
- 4/5
Loved the location and the rooms were very roomy
- 3/5
Noisy air conditioner. In bathtub, cold water is hot and hot water is cold. No tissue paper. Some broken outlets. Dusty coffee maker.
- 1/5
I walked into my room and immediately book another hotel. The chair was filthy with stains everywhere. The bed was unkempt with dust bunnies in the bed coverings. The carpet and room was dirty and I did not want to be in the room at all. The front desk lady was very nice checking me in and I did not have the heart to tell her I was leaving. But definitely not a clean room.
- 4/5
A/c filter need cleaning, as well as coffee maker, otherwise everything else was good
- 4/5
on the main road - noisy, but clean enough and central enough to everything.
- 5/5
Free parking is available. The rooms are equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator. Clean rooms. Great value in a very expensive area. Close to many restaurants and a Walgreens .
- 4/5
Clean Comfortable
- 5/5
This is a very cozy, clean and comfortable hotel. The room was clean. It is in a perfect location close all shops, Walgreens, coffee shops, Chinese take out, pizza place and across the street from it there is a beautiful bike and walking trail along the water. The room has a refrigerator, microwave. Plenty of parking on the property. It is a perfect place to spend the night and not feel like you overpaid. The price is fair. Highly recommend if you are mainly going to be out exploring town or biking or hiking. Rest assure you willl get a good night rest at this hotel.
- 5/5
Microwave, fridge, and small freezer in room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room is very cute and cozy.
- 3/5
Clean room, door wouldn’t stay latched moved chair in front to block it.
- 4/5
Thank you for my stay here at your hotel.
- 5/5
Room and property is always clean. This is our go-to place when staying in the area
- 4/5
Very Clean room | was waiting a little bit to check in but no issue after that. For the price, it’s worth it. Beds were sooooo comfy and slept like a baby. I highly recommend asking for a room on the top floor because if there’s someone above you, you definitely will hear any and everything they’re doing overall 8/10 :)
- 1/5
No parking. No cups for coffee. Things were scattered in room. Smelled like smoke. Someone running around back and forth upstairs. Never stay here again.
- 2/5
Room was small, old furniture with stains and wear. Had an issue with the refrigerator when we got there. The small room with the shower and toilet was hard to move around. The entrance and exit is on a very busy road and hard to get out of. We were on the front side of the building, a lot of road noise due to the busy road. The room had shutters instead of curtains so it didn't get dark at night or in the morning. No food onsite or near the motel. I wouldn't call it a Lodge, it's basically an old motel. The walk way on the second level has some areas that are uneven and could be tripping hazards. There was a coffee machine in the so called lobby, but when I went down in the morning the doors were locked. I had to wait until after 8am for them to open the door.
- 5/5
Wonderful and clean remodeled rooms. Front Desk Staff were extremely friendly. Perfect location at the junction of 101 and 1 Highways.
- 3/5
The room is clean, no smell, wifi is fast, but the building is right next to the street, vehicles pass by constantly day and night, couldn’t sleep well at night, that’s the only downside otherwise is a good place.
- 4/5
Convenient location for hiking and the beach
- 5/5
Nice basic clean stay. Best price available in the area
- 2/5
Not a good place to stay
- 5/5
Though the room was very close to a busy highway it must have been very well insulated because it was quiet inside the room. Appeared to have been recently renovated and freshly painted. We were comfortable and slept well.
- 5/5
Spotless room and lay at front desk was super nice and got us in super fast
- 5/5
Always so clean. Nice big rooms. Big bathrooms just so inviting.
- 4/5
Great location for exploring the area, and the bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
The location is great and the hotel was well maintained and quiet and clean. And a great price.
- 3/5
The room was smaller than it looks in the advertised pictures and the bathroom will feel very cramped if you’re 6’2” or over. But I liked that the sink is placed outside the bathroom, so at least you can shave comfortably.
- 5/5
Overall great place
- 5/5
It's a great place to stay and lots of things to do around the area - plus parking is easy- staff is also very nice !
- 4/5
Don't let the outside fool you (as it did me). The rooms are nicely updated, clean and the bed is super comfy. It's on a busy road, but it was relatively quiet at night. There's a few good restaurants really close too.
- 4/5
very basic, cheap motel but clean and has all thats needed . staff very nice
- 5/5
We really liked our stay and have stayed longer as well! The view is great and easy to go on walks in the morning and see Sausalito! The staff is also very nice ! They also have a really nice automatic coffee machine- love! Parking is easy too!
- 5/5
The room was comfortable.
- 5/5
Rooms are clean and updated. Bed was comfortable.
- 1/5
We showed up for our reservation after driving 6 hours and was greeted with the wrong room and then the room they tried to put us in was dirty when we addressed that they gave us wrong room they said not our problem because i booked with third party and they wouldn't cancel payment on file for us to find another hotel
- 3/5
The room looked very old and used, not clean either. It would get so cold at night and I wanted to turn on the heater but it was so obnoxiously loud. First night I had to exterminate a huge spider in the bathroom. I am not rating my stay a one star review because I believe in improvement
- 2/5
The woman at the desk was nice but the room was so gross. Both armchairs were filthy. The mattress covers had huge blood stains on them. Just so so gross.
- 4/5
Location, clean and helpful staff.
- 4/5
Clean room. Everything that was advertised.
- 3/5
The room floor was not clean. The shower curtain had black mold spots. The microwave unit in the room had a broken door.
- 5/5
Great room, perfect location. This is a winner!
- 4/5
Room is OK
- 4/5
Clean but noisy traffic.
- 4/5
Room was OK, this lodge is right off the 101 freeway and easy to find. This is a motel/motor lodge, park right outside the room, so easy parking and easy unload. Our room 121 was in the back by the dumpster, so not a scenic view. But we were tired from a long drive and just stayed in the room, so not a problem. Thought I read somewhere that there was a Continental breakfast included, but the manager said no. Good value overall: beds, bathroom, TV, fridge, microwave and wifi were fine.
- 4/5
Parking was around the back, open air, but worry free. Older building but kept up pretty well. Right off US 101 freeway, so easy access. Need car to get to most nearby food and shopping.
- 5/5
That sounds like a lot of stuff, but they're all minor. The hotel was fine and the staff nice.
- 1/5
The room looked nothing like the photos shown in the ads and was very disappointing.
- 3/5
The room was clean but the bathroom sink was leaking and there was no water pressure in the shower and only had one towel the staff was nice a mediocre motel room
- 3/5
Ok location though noisy at times. I had problems with room heaters. The first was like a loud dentist drill that I changed rooms and “settled” on the 2nd room by cranking up the temperature so I didn’t have to have it run while I was sleeping.
- 1/5
The room was
- 2/5
No water pressure. Not enough blankets
- 3/5
Pro: They accommodated a very late check-in for us when we arrived town. The bed was very comfortable. Towels were nice. Parking was easy and free. Con: The room was clean-ish but some dirty areas (lamps were dusty, sink was slow to drain, etc). The room was very tiny and very basic. We were not given enough towels or pillows so had to request more, which they did bring but seemed surprised we'd ask. It was a good location for our hiking trip but we would not stay again, we'd pay a bit more for something else nearby.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable
- 5/5
TV problem was promptly addressed
- 5/5
Really liked the location
- 4/5
Didn’t need parking or laundry. Staff was perfunctory; no lights on in the office at 5:30 PM. Walkways were dark, making it hard to see room numbers. Website says breakfast included, but there was only coffee and a dark room.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 3/5
It was the middle of the road
- 3/5
Also be careful pulling in and out- there’s a lot of traffic on the main road and difficult to take a left out of there.
- 1/5
The room was very basic and not very clean. There were random long black hairs in the bathroom and on the towels. The blinds were broken. The fan on the air conditioner was very loud. There was no remote for the TV. There was no privacy sign to hang on the door. I had plans to go hike that day and come back but instead I just went home. Not worth bothering with another night.
- 2/5
The bathroom was filthy: there were long hairs and dirt in the tub. The top comforter had a cigarette burn as well as a very large hole exposing the stuffing. The coffee pot was missing. The room smell was very unpleasant. We were there for a single night due to a work event, so we thankfully did not spend much time in the room. Though we are frequent travelers through the area, we would never ever stay there again.
- 1/5
The room was dirty(stuff on walls). Furniture was uncomfortably placed, set against ac unit and the bed agsinst a table leg. When asked about breakfast rudely informed there is none. Interactions with reception office lacking common coutesy. No doorbell, not sure if they would respond after several minutes of seeing us in reception ?
- 3/5
The bathroom door latch was broken and the door kept swinging open while using. A truck was blocking the entramce to the parking lot one day and we had to backout into busy traffic to bypass the blocked driveway. The truck was there blocking entry for more than an hour. The beds were clean and comfortable.
- 3/5
Room clean but cramped. Easy parking in front of room. Coffee machine in reception was great. Staff was cooperative.
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
Room was very clean and smelled clean. The staff could have been friendlier. Barely said 5 words to us between checking in and checking out.
- 3/5
Found a toenail under my top sheet
- 4/5
Quite a bit of noise from the street.
- 1/5
We stay at many hotels for our travels, this by far was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in! The room was filthy, walls were damaged and dirty along with the baseboards, bathroom was filthy, shower, curtain, and tub, or filthy, no soap for the bathroom sink, Air conditioner unit made loud noise cannot even turn it on, floors were filthy, bed line isn’t comforter and pillowcases dirty, this hotel should not be listed on your website , I can’t believe this hotel is even a business with these types of rooms. The amount of terrible reviews on a Google search is unbelievable, but hotels.com reviews are nearly as bad for some reason?? This place is a dump, we stayed in room 116 at the back of the hotel, we were so exhausted. You stayed there anyway without any sleep, unfortunately. Unbelievable!
- 3/5
Being downstairs the folks upstairs was like having cattle on your head all night long. Beds comfortable, shower good. Overall a fair stay for the cost.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The property has a great location. The room was very clean. It was outdated. The staff was kind.
- 5/5
Parkin is very secure, and our room is very quiet on the backside of the building. They also let us check in early. Very nice owners, and the location is very good for access to Sausalito.
- 1/5
The rooms were disgusting, they smelled like throw up and filth. I couldn’t bear to stay there so I left. The people around the parking lot were super sketchy. There was no way I could ever feel safe in a place like this hotel. Don’t believe the 3.5 stars or the 7.4 rating.
- 5/5
Clean, convenient and quiet...thanks!
- 2/5
The bathroom had a terrible smell like sewage. They didn’t have another room so I had to stay in that one. I left the fan on in the bathroom all night and shut the door, but I still smelled it in the night. It was disgusting.
- 4/5
Some parts of the room needed deeper cleaning, there was mold around our fridge but the rest of the room was okay. We’re only staying for a night and it does the job, the location is great and only 15 minutes away from the golden gate bridge.
- 3/5
Parking is amazing views are amazing, but they could upgrade on pillows and better bedding. Also Windex, the glass mirrors and side tables. The TV had a line. One bed had 2 pillows and the there 3. Sound petty, but the can use a few up grades. The chairs in the room are very dirty.. otherwise the area is beautiful
- 2/5
No bar of soap; no cups; interior was shabby; outside not much different; cramped.
- 2/5
Customer service is nonexistent. Moldy shower curtains!! Unclean
- 3/5
Bed and pillows were comfortable and shower worked fine, so the most important things were good. However... HVAC made whining noise, so I couldn't use it. Chairs were stained. Soap dispenser leaked a puddle of soap onto the sink. Freezer was completely iced up. No Kleenex, only T.P. Lamp by bed had a dead switch (or burnt out light) and its A/C outlet was too loose to charge anything. Also, there was no one at the front desk in the morning, so there was no "checking out."
- 5/5
Yes, laundry service was right on it. Parking couldn't be easier..right in front of the door.
- 4/5
Parking was good and so was thr house keeping.
- 1/5
I showed up to check in at 1230am and no one was there. I called the hotel to try and check in and no one responded. The service was horrible. I requested a refund after not being able to check in and they declined my refund, what a scam! It’s widely known as the cheapest hotel around so I wasn’t expecting anything special but to not even acknowledge my request for a refund is seriously disappointing. I’m local here and highly suggest staying anywhere else if you can!
- 2/5
The refrigerator took two hours to get cold. Staff was very nice and friendly and came to look at the refrigerator. She offered to give us a different room in the morning, but later on it started working. The floor was beautiful though!
- 2/5
Not great
- 3/5
The room looked like it was “recently” renovated, but the bathroom was so small I had to stand in the bathtub to shut the door.
- 5/5
Had a nice stay!
- 5/5
Convenient location to visit Muir Woods
- 3/5
Convenient to Golden Gate Bridge, but ugly side of town, place needs a refurbishment, could be nice
- 1/5
We didn’t stay as it was clean but the bathroom was so dark & plain old
- 1/5
Very run down on very busy road which is almost impossible to cross without walking way out of the way to a stoplight. Long walk to restaurants. Congested and poorly planned area. Only one desk chair in room, so no where to lounge in room. Bed was clean and comfortable
- 2/5
The bed was awful. Soft and lumpy. Everything else was as expected for the price. Hopefully our bed was not representative of the other rooms
- 1/5
Rooms not as pictured. Linen was not clean.
- 4/5
Clean room, good bedroom but small bathroom. Website said breakfast but only coffee. Easy to find, but need directions because didn't see sign saying Muir woods lodge.
- 4/5
Nice place for a one or two night stay. No amenities, just a clean room to sleep.
- 5/5
No issues quite a bit of road noise.
- 4/5
Not a good first impression--the lobby, a small scantily furnished room, smelled bad. After i called out for someone to check in, the receptionist was disheveled and not welcoming. But the room (although the bedspread was old looking) had newer floor and bathroom so it was fine in the end.
- 3/5
One night only. Room had a slight musty smell, and AC unit made a sound like a car alarm when running.
- 5/5
This hotel was very clean and well maintained. It was convenient and easy to access. It worked great for us!
- 2/5
The room was small and dingy looking, very outdated decor, and the bathroom was tiny and dark. I think it had a 30 watt bulb. The other lights were awkalwardly placed and either too bright or too dim. The refrigerator was small and everything in the top portion froze. The freezee obviously hadn't been defrosted in months. The microwave was tiny and made weird sounds. Apparently the room above us was occupied by elephants who liked to move furniture because they were quite noisy. I would definitely not stay here again.
- 5/5
It was close in proximity to the city.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
I’ve stayed here before and rebooked because its close to car charger station.
- 1/5
I paid for two rooms on 8/13. Then was charged an additional $53.59 on 8/14 but the hotel says they didn’t add any additional charges
- 4/5
Check in was fairly easy just took a second for someone to appear at the front desk. Property is nicely maintained, room was clean and stocked with amenities like soap and towels. My only thing to say that was interesting to say the least was the bathroom door did not close at least not in the room we were in, the latch itself was not moving. Other than that, close proximity to San Francisco, Muir Woods, Sausalito, etc. worth the value.
- 1/5
Dirty and smelly
- 4/5
over all good for a travel pass by stay. bathroom is bit small but is ok. it a bit noise if you got the room on front side, so most people request back side.
- 4/5
Overall a good place for the value . Upon arrival after check in time we were given room that wasn't ready . Initially we were asked to wait to which I didn't agree and we were given different room , actually with better location in the back of the building . The rooms in the front of the building face freeway which can be very noisy .
- 4/5
The room had everything you need. Except for the dirty sheets covered in makeup.
- 5/5
nice and roomy
- 4/5
Did not get the right room initially at check in. Otherwise room was fine
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
The room was cozy and cleaned, but not-so-much the exterior. There was garbage and bird crap in the walkways all 4 days we were there. At the top of the stairs there is an abrupt change of the floor level that is not clearly marked and is a tripping hazard. This was pointed out but not sure they understood because of language barrier.
- 5/5
Beautiful overall.
- 2/5
Room wasn't ready when we arrived. They were still cleaning rooms. Back of property facing open garbage receptacles with crows flying around them in morning. Ceiling in room had big crack.
- 3/5
Not so bad
- 5/5
This motel was a bargain. The property and rooms were very well kept up. The staff was great and very helpful. One nice feature was a coin operated washer and dryer on site so we could do a load of laundry. I would stat there again and highly recommend this business. The owners take pride in their establishment and take care of the landscaped plants and flowers.
- 5/5
Would've given 5 stars all around, but the shower wasn't great for anyone over 5'6". Low shower head...but everything else was great!
- 5/5
Too much road noise.
- 3/5
Furniture was dirty.
- 5/5
Solid.
- 5/5
Solid
- 5/5
Very helpful staff! A minor problem with room key, staff fixed it expidiently!
- 4/5
Price was reasonable. Older motel. No amenities to speak of on site, but we were there only to sleep and shower.
- 3/5
The room was great.
- 2/5
Convent location for an early morning trip. Wanted to save myself from a long drive at 2 am so I stayed there. EXTREMELY FILTHY rooms. Bed wasn’t bad but the room being so disgusting made everything uncomfortable overall. I understand this is a cheap option in the area, I’m not too picky especially when I’m just looking for a decent few hours of sleep. Even being outdated and having things the water faucet broke wouldn’t bother me too much if they just took the time to actually clean the room. Good spots on the wall, not stains. Could easily be wiped down. Clearly dirty floors and floor boards that a quick mop could fix. For sure need to hire a cleaner.
- 5/5
best hotel
- 5/5
affordable and short drive to some great areas

Property was very close to our destination
- 2/5
The bed was comfortable and clean, however the rest of the room was unclean. The headboard looked to had not been cleaned in some time… there were oil spots from peoples heads. Dusting didn’t appear to be a priority as the light in the bathroom was encrusted with dirt/dust…Fridge had old food (ketchup) crusted. The fridge wanted to topple over (missing foot) Hair dryer had hair in it. No screen on window. Shutters were broken- missing adjustable rod. There was no plastic bag for ice bucket , and, the ice bucket had what appeared to be mold on the lid and stuck on food.
- 4/5
The rooms are very nice - clean and well maintained. The staff was unenthusiastic but got the job done. I would def stay here again. Great room for the price.
- 3/5
Just ok. We had extremely noisy neighbors. We were on the back side of the hotel where we had requested to be away from street noise, but it was a lot of construction guys staying there, as well as "employees rooms on the back side.
- 4/5
Even beeing recently and badly injured in her feet, the receptionist came pretty fast, was really kind and did the check in quickly.
- 5/5
Affordable, clean, comfortable… unassuming little place that was exactly what we needed.
- 3/5
The room itself was nice, but the property felt kinda run-down and poorly-managed. I got there around 7pm and the front office was dark and nobody there. I rang the doorbell but no response. I had to call the office, and someone finally came out, I think they were busy doing laundry. Vending machine wouldn't take my quarters, there's no elevator which meant I had to lug my bike up the stairs, and half the rooms didn't have numbers on them and looked closed-off. Also, no breakfast was served the next morning. My room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable, but the property felt like it's seen better days.
- 3/5
Decent pace for the price but downstairs is noisy and bathroom is small and no place to hang towels or clothes.
- 5/5
Just a great place for the price and location. This was my second stay there!
- 5/5
Muir Woods Lodge is the best! Nice, clean rooms at an unbeatable location. Proximity to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and San Francisco is second to none. We love this hotel!
- 3/5
weird. owner opened my door without knocking on the last day in the morning. total old dingy motel vibe
- 5/5
We didn't like the first room they gave us. It smelled of smoke. When we complained, they gave us another room that didn't smell of smoke! Yay!
- 4/5
I was a great location for us
- 5/5
The room was very nice.
- 3/5
Not a bad solution for a quick night's stay.
- 3/5
The room and property was great. But the TV didn't work and the staff was very unhelpful. Let me do my laundry and get all of my clothes washed and wet and then told me the dryer was broken, after making me pay $4 to use the dryer. Then told me, oh well when I was stuck with wet clothes. Finally told my husband he could use their dryer. Just terrible! Also said she would have someone do something about the TV and then never did.
- 3/5
Overall was pretty decent for the price.
- 1/5
Unsafe to make left turn at exit. Smells sewage at the bathroom. Water hard to drain when taking shower. Stay away from Room 120. Unfrendly management.
- 4/5
Noisy air conditioner
- 3/5
Comfortable bed, clean room however well worn interior. Overwhelming amount of toxic air freshener, woke up with headaches each morning. You get what you pay for - cheap and easy.
- 4/5
Fast, clean and convenient
- 5/5
Great value, location… friendly staff. We keep coming back. Would recommend sure.
- 4/5
Easy access clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
We love staying at MuirLodge! Clean safe and friendly staff. Rosie at the front desk always has a smile!
- 3/5
Check in person was totally non-enthusiastic. Did not make me feel welcome at all. The room was OK. Bathroom very small. Wires showing under the television unsightly. Very nice bed and very nice shower. Best was being able to park right in front of our door. All in all, just fair.
- 3/5
This is more like a motel than a lodge, and it was very noisy. Whoever was above, was making noise until 3:00 am. It also seemed like every third room was a service room for the staff.
- 4/5
Bed was decent. Customer service fine. Bathroom smelled kind of bad but we were just passing through and needed a place to sleep and shower so this was fine.
- 5/5
The beds were very comfy and the staff was exceptionally kind. We would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
Upgrade seemed
- 2/5
Up. I should have paid $76 more to stay at the Holiday Inn across the street.
- 2/5
The experience was underwhelming. While the location is decent, the room had an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom odor was similar to a sewer. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the service didn’t make up for it. I wouldn’t recommend this place for an extended stay.
- 5/5
Love this place, very friendly family-operated, economy spot in Mill Valley, confidently located, had fridge and microwave and very comfortable bed. Clean and quiet. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
Excellent deal for the price. Clean, friendly front desk/employees.. located near restaurants has and grocery and quick access to highway. Would stay again/recommend
- 5/5
Very convenient location with easy parking, near the Golden Gate Bridge and not too far from other attractions like Pier 39 which overlooks the harbor and Alcatraz!
- 5/5
Great location near local attractions. Easy access and friendly staff. Very clean upgraded room with coffee, hair dryer and ironing board. Parking was near room and dining was just down the road.
- 3/5
Very convenient to San Francisco. Staff responsive to problems in the unit. (I think they should have been proactive about the problems). Price was right. Area around the property is quite attractive.
- 5/5
Overall great stay. Accommodations are basic and is perfect for a couple of day stay in a great location.
- 2/5
Run down, limited service
- 3/5
Was able to get on the trails right across the road
- 4/5
Only had to stay for one night while traveling , but it was a decent room, facing the back woods area so woke up to a pretty landscape. Room was clean, bed was decent and close to attractuons and shopping
- 5/5
No ice.
- 2/5
Room was not clean. Bed cover had a giant cigarette burn and the room smelled awful. Occupants above sounded like they were moving furniture
- 5/5
Friendly staff.
- 5/5
I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well kept the room is.
- 2/5
2nd room smelled to much like clorox. Couldnt take the smell all night. The locks were broken, the sheets didnt even look like they were washed. Parking is nice and quiet, Would i go back? No. I would look somewhere else next time
- 2/5
I booked Muir Woods Lodge. The key card said Muir Woods Lodge & Hotel. The sign out front said Muir Woods Motel - which was exactly right! It’s an old, smelly motel. The ice machines didn’t work nor did the coffee dispenser in the lobby.
- 5/5
Beautiful Lodge in Nature with kind lodge hosts. Rooms are clean and have the most comfortable beds on earth. I have never slept better. The management is so kind and professional. They go out oof their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I stay in this Lodge when I come to SF for business, to get away from the busy city and relax. I also stay here when I bring my family for vacation. Mill Valley, Marin and Sausalito are wonderful to shop and eat at. The best is the Muir Forest and Beaches near by. What a beautiful city and charming lodge to stay at. My favorite part is the other guests that stay here, they are so cool and good vibes, on vacation.
- 5/5
This older Lodge building looks like it's recently been renovated. The room was lovely. The bed was awesome. The pillows were great. The microwave worked great. I didn't use the coffee machine. They have an ice bucket but they don't have an ice machine. So be sure to grab a bag of ice at the Smart& save if you need it.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Very nice location and conveniently located near freeway. Can get a little loud near peak traffic but nothing too distracting. Overall very nice place to stay
- 1/5
I couldn't connect to the Internet, the room was dirty and the noise was not heated, so I moved the room 3 times. Also, it was very inconvenient because the TV didn't work.
- 5/5
Very pleasant check-in experience.
- 1/5
Bathroom lights did not work nor did the television.
- 5/5
Good place to stay for a weekend trip
- 5/5
Very clean room. Service at check in prompt. Enjoyed this place and would stay here again.
- 4/5
This property was close to restaurant and state park.
- 4/5
Staff is friendly and hospitable and I slept very well. However, the room could use some improvements. For instance, there was no smoke alarm and wires were hanging from the ceiling. The faucet to the sink was very loose and the metal plate below the tub faucet wasn't secure. Oh and the refrigerator didn't seem to work either. As it is, the bed was comfy and this motel has an excellent location. Would consider staying here again.
- 1/5
for price, should at least have soap. room worn out and in poor condition. very noisy
- 2/5
When we booked, website said breakfast is provided. There was no breakfast on site. When asked, desk staff said that breakfast is not provided. Misleading advertising! Coffee station in room is not maintained and we have to keep on requesting desk staff for coffee and cream etc.
- 1/5
We planned a family trip to Muir Woods and picked this lodge for my stay due to the good reviews. We need an extra bedding and my kids asked the office. They came back with nothing and here is the words from the owner, we have blankets but it’s not included in the package so we won’t offer it. On the day when I checked out, there was a logistics truck blocking the narrow driveway. I waited for 20 minutes and asked the driver to move. He refused. Then I ask help from the owner. He let the driver complete what he was doing and told me, the driver will move, if you are not okay with it, go call police. Yes I can’t do anything because police don’t have resources to handle this. And because of this I was late for my next appointment.
- 1/5
Bad customer service
- 2/5
The staff was not very friendly. The front door had spiderwebs on it and it looked like it had not been clean. We asked for extra bedding, and we were given bedding with a mildew smell. The comforter in the room had stains on it. The shower had mold on the ceiling, the walls and the shower curtain. There was also a spider in the bathroom window. We will not stay here again.
- 5/5
Second time staying here. Its great!
- 3/5
.
- 2/5
The air conditioner was really noisy. You can here the manager partying. Asked for two extra pillows had to wait 2 hrs for one pillow.
- 5/5
Our stay was fantastic. Perfect location!
- 2/5
The room offered a king bed, which was much too large for the size of the room. There is no closet or place to hang my clothes. I would definitely call this a motel, not a hotel.
- 5/5
The next is turned on the Tv super loud. I can hear through the wall. Room #204.
- 5/5
Super friendly couple running the place. Very clean and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Convenient location.
- 5/5
Property is very well located and economical for exploring mill valley and surrounding areas.
- 4/5
nice room for the price. pretty spacious for a budget hotel room. some updates make it a very comfortable room. it has nice views towards the bay. it's on a fairly busy road so there is some noise from that but we found it quite pleasant.
- 3/5
Everything was ok until the power went out.
- 2/5
There 3 nights. Never cleaned the room or made the beds. Towels were handed to us at the door. Front desk service unfriendly and minimal.
- 3/5
The room and location were good in relation to the event we were attending, however, it’s in a very busy area at the apex of both. a freeway exit and freeway entry ramp. It was hard to get in/out of parking lot. The noise of traffic was constant. The positives are it was close to our 3 memorial event gatherings (Spinnaker and Buckeye Roadhouse restaurants and also the harbor for our memorial boat ride).
- 4/5
Nicely renovated motel, very convenient to Muir Woods and other attractions on the Marin side, with an easy drive to the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate.
- 5/5
Perfect stay next to ferry terminal and nice overlooks and cafes. Host might not be at front desk so you might have to call front desk by phone
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly, and the rooms were beautiful. The price was amazing for what you get. We will definitely be back! It’s not the hotel’s fault but it was fairly difficult to get in and out of the hotel due to the amount of traffic.
- 5/5
I found out room pretty good and clean . Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
I was afraid that it is too loud because it is right near the highway, but it was quite.
- 4/5
Very simple clean room, no frills perfect for the cost-- Repeat offender- I will stay again and again
- 5/5
Good place
- 2/5
No shampoo conditioner soap etc. Bedspread had whole in it. Floor not very clean. We didn’t really have an option to change hotels or we definitely would have. Hotel staff not very friendly. Very disappointed would give it a 3
- 3/5
Dirty, dusty, and out of date. Stains on the bedsheets
- 4/5
pleasant, comfortable room...small but functional. Difficult on-off highway after dark
- 4/5
Heating unit was so loud so we turned it off.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
However it rained one night and the amount of water on the walkway was dangerous and none was going to anything about it until I mentioned it then thy just seeped it away onto the cars parked below. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be scary as your on a very busy blind corner. Good for a night or two but not much more.
- 4/5
Rosy was very friendly and very cute as well. I almost asked her out for dinner and dancing!! 🙂
- 1/5
Do not stay here. Check in was rude and the lights were turned off had to wait for them to come out of back room and they basically threw the key at me. Room was missing iron, coffee pot, lamp, and the sink was spewing water. There was dust EVERYWHERE
- 3/5
for the price it was a great stay
- 5/5
Our room was on the street side and we could hear traffic in the back. Staff was very accommodating, we reserved and payed the room for the wrong day and they let us have the room for the next day.
- 4/5
Great location! Transportation, local sites, dining nearby. Coffee nearby- hey it’s important!
- 3/5
Well kept & clean but seemed like a motel for transients.
- 4/5
We were in the Bay Area for my wife’s 50th High School Reunion. We were right across the Golden Gate from the festivities at the Presidio. Our hotel was both convenient and pleasant without the noise and traffic of being anywhere near the City of San Francisco. We’d definitely visit this hotel again!
- 3/5
Bed & Pillows super comfortable. Room cleanliness was acceptable. Inexpensive, convenient, simple motel that was close to Muir Woods for our last night in San Francisco.
- 2/5
Scary Place. Very difficult corner of the highway to get into. Lady at front desk rude. Older lady was kind and helped us figure out how to turn on the bathroom and tub facets. Neither of us used the shower and we slept on top of the bed covering with our own blanket under us. Room wasn't clean and tv didn't work well.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, quick efficient check in. Spacious room and comfortable beds
- 5/5
convenient wonderful room
- 5/5
The room looked to be updated. And was very cute. The noise from Highway one was pretty loud until we went to bed then I did not hear it. In the morning after we got up it again was loud.
- 2/5
Floor was dirty. We asked them to clean it and they didn't. They didn't service the room but took dirty towels and didn't replace them. Office staff not very friendly and not available for checkout to get a receipt. No breakfast.
- 5/5
Easy access to freeway. Great stay for a last minute pit stop.
- 4/5
Parking was a bit of a challange. Room was clean, everything worked. Was in ground floor room, people in the room above were very noisey. Sound travelled.
- 4/5
It is located close to many great sights at a reasonable rate. It is easy to access Sausalito, Mill Valley, the ocean, and Muir Woods. The room was comfortable and clean, with nice air conditioning on a hot day.
- 5/5
Hidden gem. Cute little motel that gives you a clean room at a fair price. Great walking along the nearby marsh and convenient to freeways.
- 5/5
I would return.
- 5/5
Very convenient location! We were able to quickly get off the highway and into our room, which is good after a long day of travel. Located close to a grocery store and several dining options for an easy evening. The owner was very accommodating and flexible when we requested a late check out due to our plans changing.
- 4/5
This hotel was clean and reasonable for a very upscale area. The room was relatively small but had all the in-room amenities and it was serviced everyday (not always done nowadays). The a/c was quiet as was the hotel and area. It would be very good for a solo traveler. My only comment was I’m not a fan of the sink in the room rather than the bathroom…the bathroom was too small to have it in. The room is good if you just need a homebase and are not looking for a resort-type stay.
- 5/5
The room was spacious and well maintained. We requested handicap accessibe and it has excellent parking and access to the room. We called due to a very late checkin and it was not an issue.
- 2/5
I’m from Mill Valley and was just visiting from Texas. I just needed a place to crash while I spent all my time out and about. I don’t need a luxury hotel and that’s why I stayed here. The area is beautiful and that’s really all that was important. It’s basically a roadside Motel but in a gorgeous and safe area.
- 5/5
One plus is Buckeye Joe’s - a coffee/pastry stand as part of the famous Buckeye Roadhouse Restaurant is 30 seconds away. Open 6:00 AM to 10 AM with wonderful pastries, savory and sweet, breakfast burritos and great coffees and teas
- 5/5
Ok enough for an overnight stop
- 1/5
Old furniture, stains on lap/ dirty , sheets ripped and old, mold in ceilings, dirty old tub, mirrors dirty, headboard dirty, fridge dirty, and noisy occupants. Horrible customer service.
- 2/5
Dirty towels
- 2/5
Not dirty but not really clean Stains on bedding Towels did not seem fresh
- 4/5
The only thing is we stayed an unplanned 2nd night (both nights we thru the week no weekends) and they wouldn’t honor the same price and it was $50 more.
- 2/5
Staff acted like they didn’t wanted to be bothered no one was available when needed to check in or out and we called them on the phone and they acted rude. Bathroom smelled bad and someone left dirty clothes in the bathroom and no one noticed so basically room was dirty
- 5/5
Great Lodge by the Muir Forest, in a peaceful part of the Bay Area, in Marin. The Hotel is Family Owned, has great Staff and is in a beautiful location. Our room was very clean, smelled fresh, cleaning service was wonderful and they paid attention to details. Our Front Desk Host Rosie was very kind and made us feel like valued guest. We especially loved the TV Cable selection for a variety of different quality channels to entertain our 3yr old. We were here for a 5 day half business half vacation trip with my family. I can't wait to come back again. Thank you for a wonderful time and providing a special trip with great memories.
- 2/5
The floors were dirty. Dont walk around barefooted.
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful! Short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge from the San Fran airport. The Muir Woods are only a short drive, as well! Very convenient!
- 3/5
Dismissive staff Poor ergonomics in both bedroom and bathroom ( my husband cut his head badly on the box above the loo). Early (5.45am) bin emptying which was extremely noisy on both mornings we were there. Fridge froze our stuff Nice planting out front, back view very messy
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
comfortable bed, good linens, clean
- 4/5
Bathroom with very tight and lacked assist handles in the shower. Bed was what I expected THE LOCATION
- 4/5
Overall , good place to stay at a fair price. Very close to Muir Woods and Sausalito. Convenient location for sure.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and inexpensive. That's the most important thing to me when I'm traveling.
- 5/5
The place was clean, simple and easy to get to. A bit noisy due to it being on a busy street but nothing we couldn't handle. Would defiantly stay there again!
- 2/5
People loud all night. No smoke detector.
