Amazing room, bathroom, impressively clean and very polite personnel The breakfast can improve compared to the price.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Location is great, just one block from the beach and Ocean Drive. Breakfast was fair, had the usual continental staples. While the room and property were clean, the hotel just seems tired and run down. The rooms are in need of a face-lift. Also, our room was extremely small. It was ok for our one night stay, but longer than that may be uncomfortable.

Room was clean and location is perfect. Breakfast can be improved with any options of egg, but still fine.

Very clean and super friendly staff! We were greeted to a welcoming and helpful staff everytime we entered the hotely Beautiful and clean rooms, nice patio, all the things you need (beach chairs, umbrellas, towels). Always fresh and cold water and ice tea in the fridge. Nothing to complain about!

We landed at midnight and got to the Shepley at 1 am and our room was ready with the baby crib I had requested which I appreciated. The check in was fast since I had prepaid on booking.com. Room was small but beds were comfortable and nice large bathroom. Everything was clean. We enjoyed the free breakfast and the hotel provided us beach chairs and towels to use. Easy walk to the beach for a relaxing day before we got on our cruise ship at 2 pm. I appreciated the Shepley did not charge any resort fees or extras. Front desk staff was available and helpful. I would stay at the Shepley again. Room was small but that’s okay.

To much noise start early morning 5am from second floor I came to relax and no woke up like going to work. This property has a lot stuff to be done renovation. Power outlet don't work AC unit old not cool as it should in the room Already talk with old man wich was very rude say is nothing i can do it.

A small, very tastefully decorated hotel with a very friendly staff. A good continental breakfast is included in the price. Coffee, tea, and other beverages are available all day. We will definitely book this hotel again on our next visit to Miami. Absolutely no complaints!

The staff are excellent, courteous and always available. The Continental Breakfast offers plenty of varieties. For the early riser, like me, breakfast doesn't open until 7:30 AM. I would have liked to be able to grab at least a coffee a little earlier. They are a block from the beach and provide chairs, umbrellas and towels. We really enjoyed our stay. FYI: To the mobility challenged, access to the 2nd floor is by a steep staircase.

Great location; clean room; comfortable bed; very helpful staff. My only 2 complaints were that the breakfast was lacking for someone with allergies; it was a European-style continental breakfast, but lacked some of the variety (hard-boiled eggs and meats) that you find in a traditional European breakfast spread. Also, the shower glass only went 1/2 way across (which we experienced often in Europe). This caused water to go all over the bathroom floor and made it slippery! Otherwise, the service was exceptional and the location was spot on.

The breakfast, coffee, and wine were excellent. Unfortunately, I left behind my Nebraska Cornhuskers sweatshirt in the room. The staff apparently didn't find it. It took me four calls before I received an answer. Other than that the staff was great during our stay.

Friendly staff, great room, ok location The pictures on booking.com show the beach which is misleading to the point you believe it has beach access. In fact the hotel is one road over so about a 10 minute walk. 1st hotel not to have a dedicated breakfast area just an isle kitchen and a few seats in reception.

It was convenient to most places There was no elevator. My room was situated near a side street where the light showed through the curtains. The breakfast wasn’t worth included in my rate.

It is an old hotel but clean. Unfortunately one of our main prerequisites when travelling is an in room safe. Although in the sales ads, the safe in our room did not work. The continental breakfast was adequate. Staff was helpful in hailing a taxi at the end of our stay.

This is a great hotel only two blocks from the beach. They provide a free umbrella, chairs, and towels for your day at the beach. The free breakfast is also a nice touch that saves time in the morning. The staff is very attentive and helpful. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance. My only suggestion is to request an odd numbered room if you are a light sleeper. There is a pretentious restaurant nearby that thinks it's a nightclub playing music until 11 or midnight.

The location is very convenient, and the staff was genuinely helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The room was very dark, and there was visible mold in the corner of the bathroom, which made us uncomfortable from a hygiene point of view. The breakfast was also below expectations, with limited options and low quality. Overall, we expected a much better experience for the price we paid.

The location is perfect, near the beach and the restaurants. The room is tiny, it lacks any modern design, and there is not enough power outlets for your devices. The AC unit is located below the curatins making it not as effective unless we remove the curtains. There is very limited storage space.

Perfectly located, the staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the cleaning service was exceptional. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. Also, seating for breakfast was difficult as they did not have a dedicated area for breakfast - you had to find seating in the general/public areas of the property or on the front porch (which was not comfortable due to the weather and the arrangement of the furniture).

Staff are nice, location is good and that's all of the good things. Hotel is really old, room is small, breakfast is like youth hostel breakfast, totally reminds me of my university trip to NYC. Giving two stars instead of one star is because nearby hotels look even worse...

There were children in the room next to us but we never heard them. The continental breakfast was yummy and the location of the hotel was in the middle of everything South Beach. There's nothing in the room by way of amenities other than a very small fridge. There's no coffee machine or a kettle. No complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom is pretty bare as well. You get the shampoo conditioner and shower gel and soap, and hair dryer; that's about it. You can rent the beach chairs and beach towels, but they're not in good condition. The beach chairs are actually quite ghetto looking. The beach towels were stained. The location is great. People are really nice although they will not let you in the room a minute earlier than the check in time. All said and done, I'm not sure if I'd stay there again if I return to south beach. It was it's pretty up there price wise. I think next time I'd spend a little bit more money and stay somewhere nicer.

Overall a good value and good location. Room was surprisingly quiet even though very close to lobby. There were two small annoyances that I think could be easily addressed by hotel: 1.) there was no full length mirror in the room; and 2.) there were no “do not disturb” signs for the guest rooms. I was jet lagged during my stay, so my sleep schedule was off. I was not happy to have housekeeping knocking on, and evening opening my room door, so early in the morning - felt intrusive.

It is so close to the beach, shops, amd restaurants. A 24 hours Walgreens is just on the corner. The air conditioner can be controllled ny you and goes as low as 61 (some hotels ait conditioning can not be controlled and is set at 70. There is a club atound the corner behind the property. Despite this and being on Collins Street. The room and property is very quiet The breakfast is descent, and they have a nice welcoming front porch. I smoked my e cig on the porch without a reprimand. The daily breakfast has OJ, iced tea. Coffee, cappuccinos, yogurt. Meat, cheese, delicious croissants, and mini cereal boxes. They also have bread, jellies, waffles and syrup i would come here again. Beach is beautiful!

Great quiet place. They provide a continental breakfast with no eggs. There are plenty of breakfast or brunch places walking distance if you want eggs, pancakes, etc. Very nice staff. The hotel is close to everything. They also provide beach umbrellas and like camping chairs, not lounge chairs for the beach. For the ladies, I suggest to bring your own blow dryer, the hotel does provide blow dryers in the room but they are a little older. Overall great place, staff, location. I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was another problem. The listing mentioned an intercontinental breakfast, but unfortunately it was very poor with no real nutritional value. There were no protein options at all, and most of the food was pre-packaged and only suitable for reheating. Overall, the experience was below expectations compared to how the hotel was described

Lovely hotel full of art deco charm and located just moments away from South beach. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the bed comfy and bedding premium. The only issue was the ongoing re-furb work and the generator just below my window. It wasn't an issue as it was only a few hours a day, and never after 4.30pm All the team members here were super friendly and helpful. Parking opposite ( on 13th ) is reasonable too - $20 for 24 hours. A lovely relaxing stay. Thank you.

Main issue is some level of noise intrusion either from 1st floor banging, Aircon which seemed old and very noisy, rooms on right side of building back onto a restaurant next door that had music blaring at weekend (not ideal when you have 2 young kids) but think it quientend down About 11.

Property was great and in a fantastic location. Sound proofing in the room was an issue as you could hear the room above walk about, which was quite loud. Air con was noisy as well but that’s standard with any AC unit. Apart from that the hotel and staff were excellent and really nice. Rooms were very spacious, TV channels plentiful and the breakfast was great. The area was perfect for the beach and access to whatever type of food or shopping you want to do. Thanks for a great stay and would come back again.

I had a not welcoming gesture at check-in, I regretted having booked here at the time, anyway the rest of my stay was good so disappointment vanished. If you get a room on first floor, you'll hear every step from room above you.

Wonderful restored historic boutique hotel. Small, quaint and very clean! Service was so friendly. The continental breakfast is more than just pastries and coffee. It included ham and cheese. It is wonderful to enjoy a cup of coffee on their beautiful front porch and watch the people. It is on Collins St and only a short walk to the beach. We are glad that we stayed on Collins Street instead of Ocean Boulevard. It was much quieter and less chaotic yes still very active and interesting. I would highly recommend the hotel!

Lovely staff especially the older gentleman at check-in. Conveniently located near Jackie Gleason Theatre which is why we were there. A perfect cost effective place to stay.

The hotel is in a nice location. However, the air conditioning in the room was very loud, and the breakfast in the morning was mediocre. I wouldn’t recommend this place for those who need a bit of flexibility with the checkout time.

Very nice boutique hotel just behind Ocean drive very close to the beach. We got a junior suite with great space for seating. View from the room was out to backyard which was poorly. Everyone personal from the hotel was very kind. Good selection of breakfast which was included. Towels and umbrella for the beach was also included. Top nice stay with high recommendation.

I travel to SoBe often and this was the first time staying at this property. Very basic place no bar or pool on site. Close to the beach but you must carry beach chairs to and from the beach. The quality of the beach items are very limited. The breakfast bar is interesting. And the free water is in a jug in the share fridge. Made me giggle! Gus at the front was great! Super funny man. Hotel was clean, and housekeeping was on point. Overall, I feel the price was too high for the lack of amenities. I’d stay again IF the price dropped.

We had a great stay! Comfortable beds and clean. This an ilder hotel that has been keot up beautifully. The staf was so nice and helpful. A parking garage is less then a block away for $20 a night. Easy acces to the beach. The hotel will supply beach chairs, towel and umbrella!

We had the last room in the hallway next to the stairs. It was impossible to sleep during the day. Super noisy and staff talking in the back of the building.

Breakfast should have more options

The location of the hotel was very convenient but there was a strong smell of disinfectant or air freshener in the hotel, as if they were trying to mask other smells. I could not even eat the breakfast from the hotel (which was not much of a breakfast, just packaged bagels and mini cereal boxes) because the smell permeated everything. Also there is an elevator but I was discouraged from using it and had to carry my bag up a curvy stone staircase. The room itself was comfortable enough.

great location on Miami beach, very close to the south beach. Parking garage is right around the corner about 2 minutes walking distance. the builidng is old but well kept everthing was in good condition. we will definitely stay here again if we are back at Miami beach.

Now on to the negative. When we arrived, I was with my 71 y/o mom, 2 little kids, and teen daughter, the elevator was broken with no projected date as to when it would be fixed and our room was on the second floor with a steep ladder. Mind you, my mom has bad arthritis. The man (with NY accent) checked us in and watched me and my stepdaughter with no help drag 6 bags up a flight of stairs without an attempt to help. He then offered no apologies or any understanding when he said we have to drag all our bags to the second floor and that my mom has a hard time walking up the stairs with her arthritis. He shrugged his shoulders and just said to wait until the morning when more staff arrives to help us with bags, a single "I am sorry for the inconvenience" would have gone a long way in customer serv. There was another older evening staff member who was extremely rude. He gave us a condescending lecture on not using a hotel elevator without a staff member and that I should have known my way around the kitchen by now, tried to explain I didn't know since during the day staff allowed us to use elevator and assisted in the kitchen.

Very nice and personable little hotel w/ nice decor. The real star was the old guy doing check -in, al staff very friendly and attentive. Nice breakfast, good location

Very good service!! A bit expensive but an excellent location. Breakfast could be improved. It was not very well isolated so we heard everything from the reception and the room above.

The location is excellent. The room is very clean despite the small size and no desk. However it has essential things travelers need. The front porch and breakfast are a plus. The only drawback is at some night we can hear the car noises in the street and someone speak very loudly in the background. The staff are very nice and helpful.

This hotel is in a good locality but lacks space in room and very suffocating. I would not suggest this for families.

Quaint little place within a five minutes walk to Ocean Drive, shopping, etc. Staff was amazing and appreciated the complimentary light breakfast and bottle of wine! Definitely small, boutique style rooms but still nice.

Great property only seconds from the beach. Plethora of dining and entertainment options within walking distance. Quiet stay in a beautiful hotel.
