AC works, tv sounds muffled but worked, staff was okay , the rooms aren’t as pit together as they appear online. It wasn’t too bad but should be cheaper I feel

A little bit noisy. It is close to a major street and the motorcycles were very loud. Overall, a nice stay!

It was not a bad hotel only if you want out dated rooms. It was clean, but it is not a place to stay for more than one night. The beds are uncomfortable.

The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful, acting like they didn’t care at all. On top of that, our reservation situation was handled very unprofessionally, with excuses about “card issues” at the last minute. The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained, with broken furniture and an AC that barely works. It was also very noisy at night — the walls are so thin you can hear everything, making it impossible to sleep. Overall, this place should not be in business in its current condition. Avoid at all costs.

Being honest, I had low expectations due to the “Motel” name, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, and the bed spacious. The room was clean. There was a retro mini fridge that I thought was a fun, Miami touch. The staff were polite. The bathroom was somewhat aged, but hey, I had hot water from a working shower. Don’t need much more than that. No breakfast available, but if you’re looking for a place to stay that covers the bases, this was a solid choice.

The staff is top notch and when we needed something like towels or our sink fixed it was done immediately. The room my wife and I stayed in wasn’t great. Walls were very dirty, a lot of the outlets didn’t work and the bed was very uncomfortable. That said, the place served its purpose for a couple nights before our cruise. Definitely wouldn’t recommend a longer stay.

Outside of the property (2 story with outside steps) was very old and looked rundown. Inside was dirty with mud on the floor. bed was clean and sufficient for one night quick stay. People sitting around outside all night smoking weed. Our Door would not lock. A/C worked fine. NO breakfast of any kind. No bugs.

Water pressure for showers is bad , have a bathtub but can’t sit down and take one due to the stopper fixed only for showers, tv didn’t work well, some channels were silent and you only got a few.

They had several size pillows so I could find the right size for my personal taste for sleeping. Very good. The hotel was secure with secure parking. Good location. The TV system had to be fixed, I could not get news and other certain channels.

The worst motel I’ve ever stay at in my life. Woked up to water in the middle of my room. Never got my room clean after asking for it to be clean, as I stepped out to get something to eat. Don’t recommend this spot at all. Stay away people.

I WENT TO THE OFFICE WHILE STILL WAITING FOR THE ROOM TO BE READY, STAFF IN THE OFFICE TOLD ME THERE WASN'T ANY RESTROOMS TO BE USED AND WAS TOLD TO WALK ACCROSS THE STREET TO STARBUCKS FOR THE RESTROOM. WHICH WAS PRETTY ANNOYING. I WAITED OVER 30 MINS BEFORE I WAS FINALLY TOLD MY ROOM WAS READY. SEEMS LIKE SOME ROOMS THERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIVE OUT OF. MY ROOM WAS A NO SMOKING ROOM WHICH WAS GREAT BECAUSE I DON'T SMOKE, BUT THE NEAR BY ROOMS SMOKING WAS ALLOWED WHITCH INTERFFERED WITH THE SMELL IN MY ROOM UPON WALKING IN. Charge 420.00 for a room that the hotel only charges 120.00 for and after reviewing the room it was dicusting also we were concerned for our safety as it seemed to be in an area with vagrants and not a very secure hotel! manager showed us room said he would cancel our reservation and did not. Nasty hotel had people wandering around the property aimlessly. Would not recommend Expedia and certainly not recommend this hotel. Very poor decision save your money!!! I only wish I could give this a zero rating unfortunately it doesn’t go that low!!!

Nothing. It was there or seat at airport. Everything. The room was on a highway. The furniture looked like it was bought at thrift store. I booked here for 2 night - it was almost 500$ for 1 king bed room. room were terible, discusting, water leaking everywhere in bathroom, the sink were leaking, water was all over the floor. best to stay away from this shalimar hotel.

There was no elevator and no one to help with transporting luggage up and down the stairs.

I liked having windows onto the street. I also like the ease of check in and check out. The towels were also nice. And the staff was pleasant. Very good location. There was no elevator and no one to help with transporting luggage up and down the stairs.

When we got to the room that hey gave us, the AC wasn’t working properly, but they did give us another room but again not without giving us an attitude, and prolonging the problem. When we got to our new room it was better but they gave us only one key again so I went to the desk and respectfully ask for another one, but a new person had taken the night shift for that night. He also gave us a bad look. Then, as we re unpacking our back we can’t find our chargers, so my buddy went down to try and find them as I unpack the rest of our things. He got sent back told him it needed to be me to come talk to him. I thought that was not really coo l because my buddy had one of the room keys so he could’ve jst search which room it was in then go from there.

The communal microwave was an eye-opener. Showed our son his first "bodega" just down the street. It looks like the city is trying to reclaim the street and restore it back into a 1920s motif. Unfortunately, our toilet leaked water and the refrigerator didn't work, so my son got his first smell of death from it as well. Definitely a family adventure.

Very basic room. No pictures on wall, no table lamps for reading and door was difficult to open and close. Toilet was clean there were only two towels,mini soap bar and plastic package of shampoo. I had to quietly snuff a large crawling insect (2 inch) before my wife saw it or we wouldn’t have stayed there.

The most disgusting place I have ever had the displeasure of staying at, where do I start? We walk in the room and the first thing we notice is an awful sweaty smell in the room. Upon more inspection the pillows had yellow stains as well as walls with noticeable dirt spots or cracks. The worst part was the DISGUSTING bathroom that had random stranger’s hair on the floor, sink and tub. That is gross and disgraceful. But to really make it worse there was a green NOSE BOOGER on the wall next to the toilet!!!! That is absolutely disgraceful to have a room in this condition and “ready” for customers. Absolutely shameful. The following night, people in the room next door were drunk and arguing until 1am. So if you love boogers, domestic violence and pure filth, this hotel is for you…otherwise stay far away!!! This was a nightmare!!!

There was a nauseating stench of too much much deodorizer. I had to cover my nose to get to sleep, but the street noise would wake me again. For $150 I expect more.

I didn’t really enjoy my stay at this property. It wasn’t what I expected The price and the location

Checkin was ok, but the key didn't work. The clerk checked it, told us it worked, but you have to hold it on the lock for a full minute. If that doesn't work flip it over and try for another minute. After the third flip and about 5 minutes, the light started intermittently flashing but didn't unlock. Removing the key card and touching again for another 30 seconds finally got us in the door... To the 80 degree room. AC running full blast, but completely ineffective. "Its cheap... we just needed a place to sleep a few hours" we told ourselves. Then sat on the matress, which caved in until we were almost sitting on the slats. Soft, hot, no support. Sweating in our underwear, we tried to make the best of it and get some sleep. I tossed and turned for 5 hours before the backache forced me out of bed. At least the shower was hot enough for long enough to soothe some of the aches (with a lot of ibuprofen). Getting out of the shower, you instantly realize why most bathrooms have a fan and AC vent. The humidity was stifling and sweat was pouring off me. Opened the door naked. At least the daughter was still asleep. She will have to share a rag and towel with one of us. No soap, no coffee, no ice, no carpet, no laundry bag, no comfort. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

Are very friendly I didn’t complain but the only 1 things I didn’t like I told my room attendant that i didn’t need cleaning my room that day couse I just got the day before at 10:00 pm And she waited to I left and still went in my roo It’s a violation of privacy

The a/c wasn't turning on when I first got there but I had to leave real quick to go to a show, and I was going to say something when I got back but by then it was on and stayed on the enitre time. I was there for 4 nights and nobody bothered me which I like. Some of these people writing reviews need to learn how to read because they HAVE A SIGN stating there is a $100 deposit, they HAVE A SIGN stating that nobody is going to go into your room when you aren't there and clean unless you specifically ask them to. Also the deposit, it shows up as a pending charge that falls off/gets put back into your account. It was by midnight the day I checked out that it showed the money going back. Y'all do realize sometimes these credit card companies take 5 to 7 business days to process this stuff but y'all are impatient and want to get on here and complain for no reason. There were no cockroaches, no bedbugs. Yes there was a hole in the comfortor on the bed. But I wasn't expecting Holiday Inn, I just needed a place to crash at night I actually spent my vaction in Miami doing stuff instead of sitting in a hotel room expecting room service from an old motel lol

Through a stroke of luck a checkout occured after 45 minutes of my heavily pregnant wife and I scrambling to find another hotel. They ultimately cleaned the room and then billed us the full amount despite us getting in at arou d 3:45am after they made the error. The rooms are subpar quality at best. Do not stay here, stick to more well reviewed or reputable companies.

My boyfriend was using the bathroom and a roach starting crawling up his butt. He got up and found more around the toilet and bathroom and room. No remote in room, half clean room and bathroom. You can tell they just surface clean. In a trashy hood neighborhood and got the nerve to have a $100 hold deposit while you staying there. Would not recommend at all especially due to the roaches and them half cleaning the place.

You can tell they just surface clean. In a trashy hood neighborhood and got the nerve to have a $100 hold deposit while you staying there. Would not recommend at all especially due to the roaches and them half cleaning the place.

I don’t know why there are negative reviews on this motel, but I found it to be quite nice. Perhaps the competition nearby is posting. While it’s not the Ritz the room was clean as well as the bathroom. As a plus, a block away there’s a nice coffee shop at the Chevron gas station. I’d stay here again.

The room was small and did not look anything like what was advertised online. When we got to the room it smelled like mold, and mildew. Then the manager tried to charge me and took my deposit for a hole that was already in the wall when I arrived. But that’s what u get for staying in this area.

This hotel is for a single person or couple just needing to crash in Miami and be out in day time. Not for family's or with children. Bed was not the most comfortable, stiff blankets and humidity salty smell to room and sheets. No black out curtains sun/light comes through. And car sounds and street noise is heard. Kinda shady characters staying at hotel. Can't believe how much hotel prices have gone up that this hotel was $130 a night after taxes . SMH . Good a/c , hot water, pretty clean are the positives

The inside of the fridge was kind of gross. The room overall was clean but very austere. There was nothing homey about it. It was fine for what I needed it for - sleeping overnight after an incredibly long day of business meetings. But I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was filthy. There were dead cockroaches all over the room. The toilet had not been cleaned in a very long time and I had to clean it myself before even using it. The bathtub was not fully clean and would get clogged even if using the shower. The towels didn't smell clean either. The bathroom sink would only have a small stream of water come out.

When we looked aound the room it was still dirty. The shower had hair left over from a previous guest. The door would not lock, the AC took a long time to cool a really hot room, the room was missing a controller for the tv. Definitely would not recommend staying here.

I thought a microwave would be standard amenities but I guess not. The room smelled like cigarettes and vinegar. For the price it’s not bad but it’s not the best. I only spent one night but that was enough for me

this was a below standard motel! the area smelled full of marijuana and there were people screaming in the middle of the night. There were only 2 small towels to shower and the shower head was leaking water!

It was very disappointing! Amenities were a lot to be desired, No cups to rinse after brushing teeth, no hand towels to dry hands, no tissues, had an iron but no ironing board. It was convenient to venue, but that is all I can really say.

No phone, no lotion, limited towels, etc.would we stay there again? NO!

We keep coming back to the Shalimar Motel because it is the best place in Miami if you don’t want to spend $300 a night. The staff is friendly and check in is fast and easy. The rooms are clean and comfortable and if you need anything they are always there to help. Thank you Shalimar for a very good experience.

Water was cold but everything else was cool.

The bed was uncomfortable, the room decor was very dated, there was no hot water in the shower, it was very noisy to sleep. I had to book this hotel due to limited hotel availability when my flight was changed and I had to stay in town for the night. It was definitely not worth the price I paid for the night.

nothing about the property would bring me back there! Parking is limited was hard to find staff just not a place i would stay again bed had stains my view of the window was a yard filled with trash and junk.

Because, I am a Miami native. I remember this hotel from years ago in 90's and early 2k's and not much has changed about it except the price. I am a firm believer as in you get what you pay for. however, what I paid for was a bit much for this place. you can literally hear people in their rooms while your sleeping. The parking was horrible. Staff was great so made up for the price. The rooms are okay except the air conditioner. it made a loud noise and was very dirty.

Most beds we find uncomfortable but our sleep was soo pleasant , we were going to ask the kinds of beds you used 😅.

The room was dirty and dingy, the sheets were clean, stsined bedspread and dirty shoer curtain. Looked like the doors and light switches look like they havebt been wiped down in forever. W covid you'd hope places were cleaner. Was afraid to sit on the chairs they were dirty and stained. The area is sketchy. Would definitely not stay here again

Shalimar is a traditional no-frills motel. Parking is on-site, but really tight. The check-in was quick and pleasant. The room appeared a little 'dated', but was clean, beds were comfortable, and perfect for a quick overnight. The motel is on a busy section of Biscayne Blvd, but very little sound was heard in the room. Rooms are all non-smoking, whilst permitted anywhere outside. Price for value is spot on. The Shalimar is definitely not a 'holiday resort destination', but is very affordable for the area and the overall experience was satisfying.

The air conditioner had to much dust

It was totally different from the pictures. Besides the bed, there is practically no furniture in the rooms, meaning there was really no place to sit down or set our things down on. The bed was like sleeping on cardboard and the sheets were not clean. We got so frustrated one night that we bought an air mattress in the middle of the night to sleep on.

Quiet and Clean place. Wish they had an iron with the ironing board. But good service and easy in and out.
