Holiday Inn Express & Suites Miami Airport East by IHG

The reason we chose this hotel is because it is close to the airport. However its airport shuttle starts at 6:30 AM, too late for our flight! Everything else is fine

In close proximity to the airport, room was cleaned. The only suggestion I would give is to have the staff be more courteous when answering the phone. When we called to ask about the shuttle, the employee that answered was dismissive as we inquired what door and what shuttle to look out for. The employee mentioned the door numbers in a hurry and when asked what shuttle to look out for the employee ended the call.

Super close to the airport! They sent a car service to pick and drop us off at the airport. Great customer service and amazing place to stay.

Clean hotel, 5 mins away from Term D. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because the hotel is a bit dated, still has old carpets.

Close to Miami airport and is very clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful, we asked about taxi options to get to the car rental centre rather than taking a shuttle back to the airport and then to the car rental centre, but the reception said they will can get the airport shuttle to drop us off at for no charge which was really helpful. Breakfast was also nice.

Love the free shuttle to and from MIA. Also, the shuttle both to the cruse port and to MIA post cruise for a small charge. We will definitely stay there again if we cruise from MIA again. Only con was the lack of eating establishments and shopping.

No convenient place to eat

Held three rooms on my card, chose to pay upon arrival so that the other people in my party could pay for their own rooms upon checkin. However my card was charged for all three rooms as well as the other people in my party was charged for their room as well. Called the property, they emailed me a copy showing a refund, however the refund did not show up on my card. Can’t get anywhere with them.

It’s a really nice hotel for an overnight whilst waiting for a flight. Large room, comfy bed, great bathroom and free breakfast. There is some noise from aircraft but it is an airport so you expect it. It wasn’t too bad for us.

It had a sleepover sofa and lots of space for luggage. The sleeper sofa was stained and dirty. The bed didn’t have thick enough covers- very flimsy fabric.

We booked a family room and arrived at 11.00pm after a 10 hour fight from the UK. When we arrived in the room there was no bed made up for our daughter. We checked with reception and were told it’s not their policy to make up a bed for children and the bedding can be found in the draw. We opened up the sofa bed and there were so many stains on the mattress and it looked so uncomfortable because you could see the springs underneath the material we refused to use it. Our daughter ended up sleeping in the same bed as us.

Parking was the only issue I had, other than that it was a nice hotel to visit.

More information should have been provided about shuttle pickup at the airport. Specifically the cutoff times. Waited over an hour before calling a uber

The shuttle van ends the service at 10pm. That is only informed when you call them from the airport. They should inform about that on the hotel information to allow an informed decision when booking this hotel.

It was clean The way the shower was designed was weird. You had to get wet before you put on the shower. Only one side door worked.

Staff excellent as well as transport to the airport. Property is so poorly built we were on a middle floor and overhead jet traffic echoed through out the room until midnight and started again around 5 am. Any hallway noise including the elevator chime could be heard. Paper thin walls and ceilings/ floors. Do not stay here if you are a lighter sleeper.

There are many rental car businesses,so dont need to get one from the airport .very convenient to pick up and drop off

Clean for the most part. There was a bad odor coming up from the bathroom sink which made it hard to use the bathroom. Overall, the room was clean, bed comfortable and the pool and hot tub was a nice addition.

Hotel is tired. Area is sketchy! Nowhere to eat in the evening. VERY loud airplanes every few minutes, and windows were not sound proofed at all. Staff were great. Not their fault!

We booked this hotel because it was close to the airport and car rental center. When we arrived we found out their airport shuttle doesn't start until 6:30 am and their breakfast didn't start until 7am. We needed to leave before this so we couldn't take advantage of either one.

Everything was great, only problem we had was we were told that there would be a shuttle available to pick us up at airport when we arrived we only needed to call and we actuallycalled the hotel prior and spoke to someone to verify this. We were a very large party....we called and were told that the shuttle was no longer picking up. We were well within the "listed" times of service so be careful when choosing this hotel if you need transportation. We ended up having to get our own and it was a bit crazy with small children and spring break 🙃

The room was acceptable and we enjoyed having a view of the airport. However, we could not breath. We thought we might be getting sick . But after taking a package out from beside the bed (i had hidden it feom my son) it was completely soaked. The carpet on the outside of the bathroom was a puddle. They are running some kind of a racket with their morning airport drop-off shuttle! When we checked in the day before, the desk staff said “Airport shuttle leaves at the top of every hour.” Got it. Next morning, we are 20 min before the top of the hour and my husband goes to the desk and asked the staff member, “Where do we go to get the airport shuttle?” She points to a man in the lobby announcing “airport shuttle!”. He’s starting to load people and luggage into a large white shuttle parked right in front of the hotel. He’s clearly mobilizing people for the airport. My husband goes to him and the man says, “$12 per person, cash only.” We are shocked— thought shuttle was free! We decide we can take an Uber for less and so we opt for that. The man continues to call repeatedly for airport people and the entire lobby empties into his shuttle and he leaves full. 5 minutes after this man and his shuttle leave, we are waiting for our Uber right outside the lobby, and a different man comes to us and asks if we are waiting to take the free shuttle to the lobby. We look at him confused. He points to another smaller shuttle van at the BACK of the parking lot, away from the hotel entrance, this one clearly marked. Trying to make sense of it all, we decline though the man repeats several times it’s completely free. 2 min later, the small shuttle leaves…empty! To mislead guests to a paid shuttle while hiding the free one is extortion!!!!

The hotel was fine, except for the fact it was so close to the airport. We heard non-stop plane takeoffs all night long.

The room was AMAZING. We stayed in a 2 bed room with our kids. It was so clean and organized. The beds were comfortable the pillows were comfy. Everything was nice. Would stay again 10/10.

Overall good stay but didn't love the $20 parking permit. I get needing to do parking passes being that close to the airport but why not allow hotel guests to have a parking pass for free? The hotel could also use some repair. Quality level didn't seem to be as high as other Holiday Inn Express hotels.

The airport shuttle was perfect and easy to use.

The staff were very nice, the room was very very clean. And they had a great breakfast selection as well as snack shop selection. I would definitely, and probably will, stay here again. I did not need it, but they have a free shuttle that takes you to and from the airport.

Airport shuttle never came to pick us up at the Airport. We waited for 35 minutes and saw a shuttle bus drive right by the shuttle bus stop and not stop! Had to pay $12 for a Lyft to the hotel which was about a 1-2 mile ride!

The water to the toilet was turned off. I had to turn it on myself. As I did this I found out that the water pipe going to toilet was HOT water, not cold. The temperature of the water inside the toilet was causing condensation on the toilet seat.

Very close to the Mia airport, and a good option for travelers Strange stain in the bathtub. Only one USB outlet near the beds, wifi was very spotty so international travelers who need reliable wifi may be disappointed by that.

The room is clean and spacious. The staffs that assist us are nice. I honestly dont like the breakfast choices. It can be better. Thank you to all who prepare the breakfast.

We enjoyed the hotel location. We were spending the night prior to a cruise. It was a 10 to 15 minute drive. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast as well. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. We'll definitely stay here for our next cruise. We didn't like the high price to park on site, but that is probable normal for this area.

Room had 2 queens and a fold out couch, 2 TVs, fridge and microwave, nice shower. The carpeting tiles were coming up, tripping hazard. Breakfast offered was nice. Outdoor Pool was nice. Location was convenient to the airport, but very loud with flights going over all the time.

Hotel was fine, but shuttle bus from airport never materialised even after two calls. At the airport we asked a driver who said he wasn't going to our hotel and to wait. Turns out it was the same driver who arrived to pick up other guest the next morning.

The entire property is beautiful and clean. The rooms were spacious and new. Very comfortable beds and friendly staff. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone planning on a trip to Miami.

The waiting time for the Airport Shuttle was too long. Other Shuttles from other properties had passed up to three times before my shuttle arrived, and when it arrived the driver was less than curious.

There was 2 issues. 1) Outside noise came thru the HVAC unit like an open window. I know it's next to an airport, but other simple outside noises shouldn't be heard like they are. 2) There was a large puddle of a sticky liquid on the carpet which the service team could NOT have missed while making the bed. As soon as I took shoes off my socks were completely saturated, and I mean SATURATED. The following morning the socks were dry, but stiff as a board!

There was a fire emergency evacuation. It was handled, and there was no harm to people. My suggestions are the signage in the hallways are not clear enough. It’s confusing the signs for the rooms, there should be clearly marked stairway, signs and clearly marked exit signs for going to the lobby.

The hotel was really clean and I had a top floor room. I could see the American Airlines hanger from the front windows. I could hear flights taking off but this hotel is really close to the airport. I would stay again. If you are going to the port you have to reserve the night prior and it was $12.

Customer service was awful. Keep calling for airport pick up but no answer. Airport pick up service was available upon request but no response from hotel staff. Waited at the airport for almost 2 hours.

The room was spotless and clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed for one night after the cruise and soon as we walked in, I felt sure and safe of this hotel, I would stay again. I didn’t swim or get bkfst because we had to get up early and catch a flight. They only had coffee at 5 am bkfst didn’t start until 6:30 am by that time we were already gone. It was 5 minutes from airport, we didn’t use a shuttle because we had a car that we had to drop back off at the airport. Everything was clean and great. My family was happy and I was too, we stayed at another hotel the night before the cruise and I cancelled it before we came back and should’ve went with this one at first instead of something a little cheaper. I felt safe and my family was too. The beds were soft and clean, I had a good night sleep. We got off ship early and they were able to access us for early check-in, not early early but it was before 3 pm. I appreciate them for accommodating us, they did invite us to wait in the lobby but we slept in the car and after an hour we went to check and they accommodated us early, I really thank them. I truly give them 5 stars. They also have a parking voucher they give you for your vehicle. Loved it- thanks again…. Food places are around within 10 to 15 min.

Room was noisy, could hear the neighbours tv loud and clear, people in the corridors and thr train whistle from outside. Shuttle driver whizzed past us on the first go a riuns so we ended up having to wait 45 mins for a shuttle.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good. The beds are not comfortable and the hotel is located close to the airport and right under the flight path. If you are a light sleeper you will hear every plane 15 minutes apart.

Staff were excellent and the room is clean. Note that the hotel is close to the takeoff and landing paths so airplane noise is loud up until 10:00 pm.

Gym access 24 hrs a day is also nice to use. Free weights and treadmill machine is clean and good working order. Work out towels and water station is a nice touch. Spa and pool is good working order didn't see any isssues and it seems to be in good working order

Overall hotel rooms were clean and well kept. I usually don't leave negative reviews - However the cleaning staff were terrible. Loud early in the morning. Yelling Spanish in the hallways and slamming doors. They also couldn't speak English and went in the room when I told them not too and there was a do not disturb sign. One of the housekeepers went into the room and took a case of beer when we were taking stuff from our room and loading up the car. We also had issues with the cards not working but the front desk said that was an issue with a new system. If some of the housekeepers were fired this place would get 5 stars

Airport noise is a big problem

Airport shuttle was minimally okay - had a long wait. Surprised to find out they only run once an hour. Would imagine that itd be more often during busy tourist season. And ... who knew we were in the direct flight path of the planes. Could've sworn the wheels almost touched the roof on takeoff!

Room was great got the king size room 318 and it was great watching planes fly out. As well as dropping the vehicle off at airport before our dlight home. It was literally around the corner. Would stay again

This hotel was pretty good! My group used to to stay the night before our cruise the next day. The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars was bc of the hotel shuttle to get to the hotel. We waited over and hour for it, called 2 different times and eventually just got an uber because we were tired of waiting for it. Only reason I knew what to kind of look for was for the front desk staff. I wish the website had more information on what to look for and where to go for the shuttle. The stay itself was really good no problems with the room or anything like that. The hotel staff was great the only problem was the one shuttle the rest to the cruise and from cruise to airport was fine other than having to wait but that is to be expected with traffic.

The staff was very helpful at check-in time. Period was done in a timely manner. Rooms were clean and roomy. Bed and pillows were awesome.

The room was clean although it has a smoke smell and we could tell they tried to spray cleaner to hide it.

The second situation issue is that was given a room located right next to the ice machine. It is very noisy there, despite the fact that they could see I was staying with small children, and they still assigned us a room in a noisy area.

Our suite was modern, spacious and very comfortable after traveling out of the country for 2 weeks.

Our neighbors were not only loud. They were screaming at times. This went on for 3 hours. Went to call the front desk about an hour into it, phone didn’t work. Used my personal phone, they said they’d send security to check it out. We never heard or saw anyone come. This continued another 2 hours. Finally quit about 1:30 AM. Told the front desk again on the way out, and the only thing offered for our horrible night was “sorry”.

Room was clean but smelled a bit musty. First time that;s happened in a holiday inn express. Breakfast was okay. Oatmeal all gone by 9:30. No coffee cups left at 9:55. Thought coffee was available all day. No bananas like we usually get. Breakfast area was clean. Workers were friendly but English challenged but did use their phones to communicate.

Hotel was nice. Kid playing soccer in the room above, not informed until arrival that because of early departure, no breakfast was available for my family of 6, and no shuttle would be available. Front desk attendant seemed to run a small scam and convinced me to use a taxi rather than Uber the next morning as Uber drivers might cancel at that hour. He said it would be around $30, when the driver showed up it was a private vehicle, no taxi emblem. We went to the airport and he charged me $60 for a 10 minute ride. Also had to buy breakfast for my family, this stay costed me over $100 more than I planned. Very poor experience. Hotel was clean, good location, new. But BEWARE scams from their employees.

Everything was great. However, it was very difficult to understand the Desk clerk with her thick Latina accent when we called from the Miami airport to inquire about where to meet the hotel shuttle being unable to understand her caused us to wait two hours for the shuttle because we couldn’t understand where we were supposed to meet the Shuttle.

The breakfast tzar started shutting down well before the end of the breakfast time. There is an on demand auto pancake machine and it was the first thing shutdown a good 20 minutes before the end of breakfast. She also had the breakfast doors closed by 9:30 sharp. Don’t expect to find it open allowing for the remaining prepared food to be consumed by late comers.

We were warmly greeted and our room was prepared hours before the official time. The hotel and room were very new and clean. We loved the shower. Plenty of water and water pressure. We took the shuttle over and our driver expertly navigated the daily chaos of airport dropoff.

It’s the perfect place to stay if you are traveling either through the airport and/or going on a cruise. Ely at the front desk was great, very accommodating and good with the kids. Shuttle never came to pick me up. Waited almost 2 hours and then hired a taxi. When I got to the hotel, there were 6 shuttles parked.

The room was clean and amenities great but the staff can hardly speaak English which was odd for country with English as its lingua franca.

The room is in good condition and clean. The staff is nice and very helpful. The problem is that we can hear planes flying when we are sleeping. We have stayed at other hotels near airports and we don't hear planes flying.

Noise from aircraft. Could not sleep. Soundproofing should be better for the price we paid. Pillows were uncomfortable. Paid for breakfast but they had no provision for take away breakfast as we had an early morning flight. Very disappointed overall. No food available and no restaurants nearby.

We had a medical emergency and tried to cancel our booking. They did now allow it and charged my credit card the full price

Everything was clean, staff were great, especially the front desk guy he was super busy but was working with a smile and jokes :) good amenities.

The gentleman at the front seat was the only nice part of the stay. Hotel shuttle didn’t come by in 45 minutes so took an Uber. There is no on site restaurant so very little choice beyond chocolate and chips. The kicker which seems a small detail was only decaf coffee in the room. At 3 am, decaf is not an option.

The room was fine. The shuttle from airport was a joke, took 1.5 hrs from the time I called. Hotel is less than 10 mins from airport! Desk attendant was not very helpful. Did not get breakfast because we took shuttle extra early to accomodate unreliable service. No food nearby. Will not go back.

The airport shuttle is totaly ineficient, be prepared to wait almost 2 hours. Amd after they pick you up you have to go drop people up in another hotel farder away from the airport and back to the Holiday inn. Totally inconvinient. Shuttles only run every hour feom 6am to 10pm. Hotel is ok bedding smell like sweat.

The airport shuttle was hard to find.Waited 30 minutes and finally a Holiday shuttle came by but fron another hotel and drove us to the hotel.Breakfast was good.The hotel is situated near the airport right under the runway of departing airplanes so very noisy.Every 2 minutes there is a airplave passing over the hotel

We got the wrong shuttle as it said Holiday Express so we’re taken to a different hotel but fortunately the very kind driver took us to where we should be.

The airport wait was convenient, but the wait was a little long,but it was Rush hour. The beds were comfy. The shuttle to the Miami port for the cruise was affordable and convenient. The front desk was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was good.

It was great other than the pool being closed when the sign said the hours the pool opens up. Also shuttle service was really slow. I had to wait longer than 1 hr coming and going. It was like 2 hrs waiting coming from the airport and going back to the airport that same day. After that everything was great

The rooms were very clean and comfy. The hotel is up to date and packed with amenities. The staff is nice. The shuttle was timely which is important because the Miami airport can be a monster. The king bed was comfortable and lifted a perfect height from the ground. Love the updated bathroom.

This hotel really needs to warn guests of the noise that is from the nearby runway at MIA. The noise is disruptive during all hours the airport is in operation, which made for a very tough night of sleep and an earlier rise in the morning than we wanted.

Rooms were very clean and well lit, with plenty of outlets for charging computers. I very much appreciated the front desk clerks both night and day shift, both were very knowledgeable. Shout out to the Miami Airport Holiday Inn Shuttle driver for dropping me off after this Holiday Inn and Suites shuttle stops shuttle at 10pm. This driver went out his way to drop us off at another Hotel. So if you choose airport location, there are two, but this one is less than 10 minutes away from airport, shuttle stops at 10pm.

Great Customer Service. Room was ready before check-in time. We were even offered a free uprgade to the room. They picked us up and dropped us off from the airport in a shuttle. And the breakfast was excellent!!!

There was a lot of humidity in the room. The odor at the room was not nice, smells like humidity which made my sleep very disconfortable.

The staff, veey friendly and helpful

The pool and jacuzzi were dirty and were not cleaned. There was a black long hair (not mine) on a pillow case and another one in a towel. The room and hotel smelled of sewage. There was no manager on duty to discuss my issues with. Light bulbs did not work. The hotel phone did not work. A series of misfortunes that were not resolved.

My experience with Holiday Inn Express at various locations has always been positive when it comes to cleanliness, conveniences, breakfast quality, friendly staff. Miami Airport East was no different. But the only difference for me with the stay here was the noise as airplanes flew past, which made me a bit anxious.

Upon arrival there were many vagrants loitering in the parking lot, the checkin process was relatively quick, but the hotel looks a little rough and in disrepair. I know that it is VERY near the airport, but the quality of construction and the windows are not of a quality you'd expect at a hotel adjacent to the departing runway. The bed was comfy, and the shower was more than adequate with plenty of pressure and hot water. Unfortunately, the vagrants made their way into the lobby for breakfast. I know everyone needs to eat, but the smell was overwhelming enough to pack up and eat elsewhere. How does this place have such a high review rating?

My family and I stayed in this hotel for a night before our cruise, the hotel is very decent, breakfast was included that was a plus, very clean and the guy in the front desk was very helpful and nice.

On a six day stay, I never once saw housekeeping. The front desk female staff was quite friendly and accommodating. However, everyone else was either Ruth or dismissive. I was right by a staff area so it was loud with music playing very early in the morning. I would never ever ever stay at a Holiday Inn express ever again.

Perfect hotel to stay at prior to our cruise the next day. Plus they provided transfers to and from the cruise terminal at a much lower cost than carnival provides.

The front desk staff was awesome. However, it was difficult out to get assistance from other staff because they didn’t speak English.

Nice, clean, quiet, great service. However, bathroom sink's faucet was leaking nor properly sealed at the seat. Got up at 1am bathroom floor had an inch of water in some parts and water ran onto the hall. I advised the front desk, maintenance personnel were ready to fix the leak.

Our only complaint was that we had asked for pool towels twice and they never showed up.

I liked the breakfast that was avaliable every morning. Our room was nice and clean. It was quiet. And parking was very convienient for our rental car. We were close to the freeway that made it easy for us to travel. We have no complaints whatsoever. A shuttle was provided to take us to cruise ports and back from the ports to the airport for our trip back home. Five Stars all around!

Very nice room. Helpful staff. Great breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. The only negative was the loud noise from airplanes going over. I would still stay there again, but I would bring ear plugs to use during the night.

It is a good option to be close to the airport as we needed to because our flight was the following afternoon. They are very helpful as to what you can do in the area. The room was very spaces and has all the amenities and hygiene products you need and if you don't have everything reception offers that as well.

10/10 Room was very clean, breakfast choices had a great variety and the shuttle service to and from the airport and the Miami dock was timely and excellent. Overall very impressed with this hotel.

Upon arriving, I was disappointed to find that the room was not very clean. Surfaces were dusty, and the bathroom did not feel properly sanitized. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, and sadly, this hotel did not meet that standard. The most frustrating part of my experience was that I accidentally left behind a packing cube containing clothing. I know exactly where I left it in the room, but when I contacted the hotel shortly after checkout, I was told nothing had been found. The staff was dismissive and offered no real help in trying to locate or resolve the issue. It feels incredibly unsettling, especially when I’m confident the item was left behind. Overall, I would not stay here again. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor transportation service, and unhelpful staff, this hotel does not prioritize guest care or accountability.

At check in, I changed my form of payment. I went out of the country and came home to both of my cards being charged (cleared charges, not pending) for the room (so, an extra $200.) I called the IHG number, they said someone would call me back within 48 hours. They did not. Called again and got told the hotel said they canceled one of the payments. I said, they didn’t because I am looking at 2 charges. So they told me to dispute it with my bank. So I called the hotel directly, left a message. Haven’t gotten a response and now I’m having to fight it with my bank. Absolutely ridiculous and the whole thing is terrible service. Very frustrated and disappointed. (Additionally, the outside seating closes at 9 with the pool and you get locked out of the hotel if you’re out there. The manager came out and rudely said something about it, that we struggled to understand due to the language barrier. Seems pretty ridiculous. The inside seating was FREEZING and nobody wanted to sit in there!)

Staff was friendly and efficient. Complimentary breakfast was great. Hot eggs, omelets, biscuits, sausages, pancakes, toast, muffins, cereal, coffee, fruit, and a choice of juice. A complimentary late checkout was offered when I asked for a few extra minutes. Overall very clean. I would definitely come here again.

I booked this hotel because it was very close to the airport, and it has a shuttle service. After more than an hour waiting and three calls to the hotel, i finally took an Uber to get there. Also the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, nor is one nearby.

Two main disappointments that colored our stay. 1) I tried to arrange airport transfer. They told me it would probably happen on the hour (it was 2:15 at the time) but they would call back in two minutes to see if it could come earlier. They never did, so I took an uber. 2) more disturbingly, they put my daughter in a room that was already occupied. They half heartedly apologized. Apart from that it was fine. It’s located in a wasteland of auto rentals and no restaurants so there is not much option for food except DoorDash.

Great experience! The front desk associate was one of the better I have ever came across. He was informative and beyond helpful! We had just got stranded at MIA airport for the night and had a terrible experience with our airline. As soon as we arrived he could tell the day was not going great. He upgraded us without asking and provided us with great info on food options! Also, delivered on everything from wake up call, to the cab waiting for us at 5am the next day! The hotel and rooms are super clean! If you ever get stranded at MIA International or just need a place for the night this is the place to stay! Thank you!

Good for a day room

Stayed at this hotel for two night before an early trip. Overall it was alright. We were very disappointed that breakfast ended at 9:30 and at 9:10 they were out of the pancake mix and sausage links. I am not sure why when multiple people asked for pancakes they would not fill but continued to fill the egg omelette which were not empty. My children had had early mornings prior to this stay so they wanted to sleep in. The room light was coming loose on the desk, the outlets did not work and the desk light had to be plugged since the switches were broken but covered with electrical tape. Again overall connivence to airport was nice but not a place to stay if you don’t need that option.
