Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, close to the beach and various attractions. The staff, particularly Luis, are frequently commended for their helpfulness. However, the hotel's age and lack of updates are common complaints, with guests noting outdated furnishings, noisy rooms, and a need for better maintenance. The absence of breakfast is also a recurring issue.

Absolute gem! Pros: great location; friendly and helpful staff; a tour desk is available to book tours or visits to malls; good room size; very attractive price Not that I did not like, but some things to know: (I don’t care about these) No pool but beach is just two blocks away No bar/restaurant/breakfast on site. Numerous restaurants in the neighbourhood and so this is not an issue

Very user unfriendly. I booked a room a week in advance from California to Miami. I called the Motel on Monday to let them know that even though I booked the room from thursday to sunday, I would be arriving thursday morning between 7:30 and 9:30. On Monday I left a message on the phone and called 5 times, no one answered or returned my call, i called 5 times a day for the rest of the week and finally had to reach out to expedia to call them for me. when I originally booked the room I got an email from hotel that if you cant check in at normal from 4 to 10:00 you have to reach out to the Hotel. I heard many stories of travelers to south beach were thier flights were delayed and weren't able to check in on time, than the motel sold thier room and kept their money, than they had to book a room somewhere else. I learned my lesson, dont book until you have talked to the hotel 1st.

The receptionist was very helpful. The location is great. The room is a comfortable studio. Everything you need in a short stay is in the room. The noise. It’s right and the Collins st and very noisy at night. I had a difficult time to sleep at night. The sports cars and motorcycles can be very noisy in Miami Beach.

If there’s a thing that I didn’t like is just the check in time, it’s til 10:30pm. My flight was at night and I also wasn’t able to do it
- 2/5
The location was great. There was no elevator, the room was not really clean & it was dusty, the bed was not comfortable, the seating furniture was not comfortable, we never used the kitchen because when I went to turn on the light a roach ran across & behind the frig. After talking to the front desk I was told there was no hotel housekeeping to call because they all left before noon. As a result the counter clerk went and sprayed some bug spray. Based on the amount of money I paid for the room, I overpaid for this hotel and were never offered any compensation for our stay. Bookings photos are misleading. If you don't care about where you stay, don't mind bugs, and just want to stay close to the beach, then you'll be ok. Otherwise don't do it ! Don't waste your money !!

Stayed for an extended weekend, the location is right in the middle of the Art Deco district, so it can be expected that it is an older building, the decor is a bit outdated but the room (suite) was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, room can be serviced daily if requested, the staff was very polite, no issues with checking in.

Viscay was a great stay! The location is prime, staff were very helpful and great. Clean, small feel but nice place. No big resort fees and perfect if you want to go explore south beach Miami. I will definitely be staying again. There wasn’t anything I did not like. It’s a great value, great location.

Location is near the beach, one block away and 2 mins walk to the beach. Good value. Clean. Smell is not fresh as I am sensitive in the smell. Restroom in the room was awful as there is no ventilator in there. So the ? smells were coming out once we finished. No tooth paste and brush and soap bar for basins. Apart from that all the facilities are good. But there has body shower, conditioner and shampoo.

If you want to be right in the middle of the action this place is perfect for you. Two blocks from beach, one block from the main stretch of bars, etc that line the beach. The room was clean and inside the hotel it was very quiet. Outside the hotel expect to hear horns, loud music and drunk people until the 3-5AM. We had ear plugs which I would highly recommend if your goal is to sleep rather than party until the sun comes up. Overall loved this placed!

Bear in mind this is a place to sleep rather than a full-service hotel. The front desk isn’t staffed at nights (you get a door key), so if you’re checking-in late you need to communicate your arrival time in advance so that someone is there to meet you.

The concierge is nice and friendly. The beach is within walking distance and it is located in the art district. But we did not get to enjoy any of these. We did not feel safe to walk the streets. I was verbally assaulted by a rude lady on the steps of the hotel who was watching two guys getting arrested. Sleep was impossible the whole four nights we were there.

Location! Location! Location! It was so wonderful I have to say it 3 times. I love the South Beach vibe! Hotel staff were on point. The bed was very comfortable, only downside was the sheet was too short like it was a full size on a queen size bed. Only other downside was because of Covid the hotel doesn’t want tables and chairs on their porch as other hotels do have chairs and tables and don’t have a restaurant on site. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return to Viscay Hotel. 💚

This place is a busy part of South Beach. I liked having an affoyplace in the back (studio). I loved the location but any place around there is loud with the cars driving by. I forgot a charger and the staff went the extra mile getting it to me. It is also very private with a side entrance which I liked. Let me check in early, too! Would book again.

I booked this hotel initially with standard room for 2 adults but later on we changed the reservation and upgraded to a larger room that can accommodate 4 people due to change in our plan. The room we upgraded shows occupancy for 5 people. We were not informed that we need to pay extra when we checked in but next day, we were told that room is only for 2 adults and since we are 4 adults, we need to pay extra. I explained them that when we booked the room occupancy showed us 5 people and that's the reason I booked a larger room compare to their standard room. I was ok to pay extra and told them , since we had plans we need to drive to key west today. We can resolve this when we are back in the evening but the way situation was handled was very disappointing. I told them to check us out and we will take another hotel somewhere else. Front desk and manager didn't cooperate and wasn't ready to refund either. The only way we can leave the hotel by paying extra for 2 adults on top of what we paid already to upgrade from standard room. I understand that hotels have policy and we made an error by not changing the original reservation by adding extra people but if manager would have a bit more sympathy towards the situation and cooperated we would have a good stay. Our time was wasted, we were not treated properly and later on they start looking for reasons to get extra money from us. They took breakfast out from our stay stating that we dont have the breakfast included.

Great location, very near beach, shops and restaurants etc. All accommodation in South Beach is ridiculously expensive but this is one of the more reasonable and to be honest unless you are looking for a bit of luxury this hotel has all you need. Rooms are decent size, beds comfortable and staff very helpful abd friendly, and most importantly it’s very clean. Enjoyed my stay.

I've stayed in South Beach for Ultra the past three years and this is the best hotel I've stayed at in the area. Rosie the concierge was very friendly and helpful. Love the hotel room, it was very spacious with an actual dining area and full size fridge plus a sink if you need it. There was a nice comfy bed and huge walk in closet. Great climate control system that I hardly had to adjust. Great housekeeping service that cleaned my room late almost every day. I'm a late sleeper and most times they never clean my room after a certain time. There is also free breakfast available but I never woke up early for it. The hotel is located literally a block from the beach with tons of restaurants and bars nearby. Once drawback is there is no 24 hour front desk so if your drunk ass forgets their keys at 2 in the morning you're SOL. If you are considering staying in Miami Beach you can't go wrong with this hotel.

Walking distance to a bunch of cool places like the beach, bars, restaurants, etc. Only complaint is the water didn't work one day when I woke up but was back within a few hours.

I was not impressed by this hotel the bed is too firm. The continental breakfast is nothing to be seen. Bread and butter. They don’t answer the phone. Just there location is great but make sure you get a room in the top floor. The noise from the street is bad.

Hotel haven't web-site. So communication (before arrival) was a little difficult. Building not new, but average condition. Clean. Good breakfast. Close to the beach. NOT 24h Reception. It's important for late arrive travellers!

Location is perfect, A/C wasn't working but was promptly fixed, breakfast is mediocre but will get you going for your day, a bit dated but adds to the charm. Neighborhood is loud though, street noise was apparent.

This hotel is billed as a boutique hotel, but this is a stretch. There were roaches in the room. Staff was helpful. Great location on Collins Avenue.

There's no parking so you have to find a parking lot to park your car or drive 2 blocks up to park your car. The good thing about it is that it is very close to the beach and the Mall strip. All you have to do is walk out front of the hotel and go straight to the beach or walk along the side walk to go to the department stores like Victoria's Secret, MAC, H&M etc. The restaurants were close as well; walking distance. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to save $$ on cab fare or traffic congestion. Parking in a parking lot only cost me $34 for the entire weekend. The hotel staff was pleasant and assisted as needed.

Not much on amenities but close to south beach, clean, and our room had plenty of space with full size fridge sink and microwave. It is a little dated but we liked the charm of it. No parking but parking garage couple blocks away at $20 a day. There was parking garage across the street but it was $20 every 5 hours so make sure u check around as prices can vary a lot.

Our son was on a foldout bed but no bedding was provided. It was supplied promptly when asked though. I was not impressed by the front desk staff whom finished on their phones before serving us. One guy continued his coversation with his friend while checking us in which I found unprofessional. Breakfast was included. It was toast, pastries and juice. This would not suit everyone. I would not choose to stay here again but the room was quiet and comfortable.

The worst experience ever. We are very dissappointed. This was our first time in Miami. The hotel and the room smell mold as soon as you enter. The hotel is old. The only thing related to this hotel is that is very clean. The staff was doing good job. I wouldn"t reccomend this hotel.

My room was okay, nothing to major but the tv didn't work. & also I was alittle disappointed with the "free breakfast" they offered. It wasn't what the normal contential breakfast like most hotels so that was another meal I had add to eat in my day that wasn't originally expected.

It was one block from the beach. The staff was definitely nice. I did feel safe in the area. Beware, there is no parking! The parking garage across the street attempted to charge up an hourly charge when we checked out (which was almost as much as we paid to stay two nights at the hotel). My advice, go find a valet or take the hotel up on their offer of a parking pass (you have to find your own spot on the street though). The room we had was a studio. So it was large and had a kitchenette (microwave, fridge, sink, coffee maker, dishes). There was also a couch that someone could sleep on. The TV was not large and the bathroom was dated (blue sink and toilet). There is a "breakfast" offered. I personally would not eat it - a couple of different basically prepackaged items and some dinner rolls. The front desk closes at 10:00 pm. So be there before or you will not get into your room. Late night arrival is not an option, but once you check in, they give you a key to get into the side door. The room we had did have a lot of street noise that was not easily blocked out. They did ask if I minded a street view - which I did not mind. The windows are thin, so I heard all the street noise. If you are looking for "fancy boutique" this is not the hotel for you. If you are looking for a place to crash while in SoBe, this is a reasonably priced hotel that is not in a bad area. One last thing, there is no elevator.

The hotel location is excellent near a block away from the beach and in the middle of all the shopping however the hotel staff they are very rude I have never felt so disrespected and hassled. My friend and her daughter were staying at the hotel and down the street and they came with me to check in and the staff literally hassled me about the amount of people staying in the room after I told him they were only visiting and then he and another staff waited for us outside just to repeat the same thing again and also threatened to have us removed from the hotel if there were more than two people staying in the room. The room is so small that even being in there by yourself you feel cramped so there's no way four people could ever stay there.

Hotel Viscay is a charming late 30's/early 40's building with many original features. The hotel is only one block from Ocean Ave, Lummus Park, and South Beach in the Heart of the Art Decco District. The street side can be a bit noisy but there are many rooms towards the back of the hotel. There is no parking available so research one of the nearby parking garages to find the best price. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Overall the Viscay hotel was nice. The pricing was great for the location. All of the staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to others. They dont have food service but that was over looked because restaurants are so close. The only thing I didnt like is the hotel didnt have heating in the room. It got a little chilly at night so we had to bundle up. The office close at 10:30 and there was no way to get any toilet tissue, we was told we had to go to 7/11.

Hotel is quiet, but streer is noisy (sweet noise didn't bother me, as I liked the urban feel and actually kept windows open). Close to everything in South Beach, clean and walkable neighborhood. No 24 hour desk, and cleaning ladies leave at 5. A downside for me as I got late starts. Would be downside if you need nighttime services. No room card, but a real key (easier to lose) so be careful if you're not the responsible type. However, if you're looking for privacy, this is your hotel. My room has a nice, clean, small kitchen. Breakfast is very rudimentary - - just cold croissants, a veggie pastry, and orange juice.

We stayed for one night. The hotel is on the main street and very handy for both the beach and entertainment. While the street was noisy, the hotel room was quiet. Spacious room (we were upgraded) with kitchenette, microwave and coffee machine. There are plenty of restaurants and food stores close by.

We had a very good stay at the Viscay hotel. The people were nice and the room was very clean...which is a huge bonus in these little boutique hotels. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower was great...lots of water pressure. The hotel is very well located just a block back from the best part of the strip near the Clevelander and the News Cafe but still quiet for the area, so you can get to sleep when you decide to turn in. Also, there is a good parking lot the next block back, just 100 yards from the door of the hotel, that is only $2/hr. to park...which is cheap compared to most places that charge $4/hr. Parking is key in South Beach. I will definitely stay here again.

Checkin starts at 3 pm, so if your flight arrives early, you will have not any opportuninty for an early check Location is great, this is a boutique hotel, so it is basic and antiquated. Room were small, but the breakfast is okay given that most hotels don't offer that.

Our stay wasn't so good we didn't sleep at all there was a lot of fighting and drunkenness and banging of the door all night long drunkenness and drama. The problem is there's no evening employees on site. So people come home from the bar and forget their key and bring on the lobby doors so obnoxious and annoying I would never stay here again.

A very easy place to stay, staff are friendly, you can book tours and you are in the heart of Art Deco South Beach for a very good price. I had a large, quiet room which was not on the road side. Breakfast is basic, croissants and rolls and sets you up for the day.

The employee were very nice and friendly. They gave me a free upgrade to the studio suite as well as a free 3-hour-early check-in. The room was large and clean and very close to the beach. It was a bit noisy in the night especially on a weekend, but everything else was awesome. It was the best service I've ever gotten. I'll definitely visit there again.

The gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Having the ticket booth for tourist attractions right on site was helpful. But the location is the best. Only one block from the beach and Art Deco Visitor Centre.
