Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the staff, location, and cleanliness, while others express disappointment with the service, room quality, and value for money. The majority of guests seem to appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the hotel's proximity to the beach and local attractions.

- Inconsistent service quality
- Rooms can be outdated and need maintenance

I absolutely loved staying here. Excellent excellent location right by the beach and all the shops. The food was good. Although the Mediterranean restaurant was OK I loved the pool options and dinner at the Jose Andres restaurant. The pool is beautiful. Worth the money!

The view from our balcony was beyond beautiful! The pool area was comfortable and the service was top notch. The food was super very interesting. And plentiful I would have liked a printed map to help find the accesable hallways to avoid stairs

I usually request late checkouts bc my flight tends to be later in the day. Traveling with an elderly parent is difficult. This time when I requested it from a Melanie Rodriguez management they claimed they could not. My mother was in the middle of a massage at their spa and I had to get her back in the room to change but instead they wanted her changing in the spa which is fine when you’re not disabled, but it creates a problem when you are. I had only asked for a two hour window since it would have taken my mother that long to be ready. This was the worst 10 thousand spent. As a music artist and public figure I routinely deal with hotels, and know what is expected from them. I will be sure to inform the proper authorities. We will likely switch to the St Regis.

Breakfast was great. Staff was wonderful. Our pool guy Yandi was very good. Took care of us throughout the day. Moved our umbrella as the positon of the sun shifted. One excellent employee. Great guy I would hope to see again the next time we visit the Ritz Carlton South Beach! Nothing we did not like.

The housekeeping service is poor as we faced a couple of incidents with dirty bed sheets and towels in the room. The AC is noisy and needs maintenance.

Everything about this stay was terrible . We were up charged for a terrible room. We basically had to beg for room service to clean our room. They threw away our champagne and promised to replace it. They replaced it a whole day later with a Prosecco. The music next door was so loud from 11 am - who knows when. The pool was bad , service anywhere took soooo long and after asking multiple times for anything. It felt like a 2 star hotel at best . After all this it was so hard to get a late check out. Would not recommend.

Some Towels by the pool were yellowing Ice machine was not in service, although staff brought us a bucket to room asap Foods Staff were great
- 3/5
We booked an inward facing room, but they were all full when we arrived. Our first room was beautiful and spacious but on the 4th floor facing Collins, which was incredibly noisy. We are traveling with kids and had to move at 10:30pm because of the noise. It would’ve probably been fine for someone who was going to be out partying until after midnight. The new room was much smaller. It didn’t feel particularly luxurious compared to the first. The bed was too soft and my back killed after 2 nights. The 3rd night was difficult. If you like a firm mattress, I would request a firm mattress topper if they have them. Zaytinia is great - love the dips/mezze and the à la carte breakfast options. The pool, hot tub and beach were nice. The kids enjoyed the poolside games as well. Service was quite good. Love the doormen who thoughtfully hand out umbrellas. The maid service was great about replacing towels, only issue was we ran out of tissues and didn’t have an extra box in the room. Overall our family gave the stay a 3.5/5.

Nice location The place is milking its ritz Carlton brand. Not worth the cost. The biggest issue for me is the room was not properly cleaned. I will certainly take my business elsewhere next year when I return to Miami.

The room was horrible. I will never stay at a ritz Carlton again. I even spent more money to get nicer things. What a total loss. I lost all respect for this hotel. Never again. Hotels in SLC, Utah are nicer and 100x less… what a true piece of ……. location…

Overall great experience! We did not have to worry about anything while we were at the Ritz! We will definitely be staying again.

It is always the best in every category.
- 2.5/5
food was acceptable but only one restaurant/dining option curb side staff was inattentive trash on the window sill outside the room remained throughout the stay repair to the bathtub took three reports to be handled hotel was extremely noisy and few food options available staff was underwhelming - not as attentive as one would expect from a resort pool staff did not offer services unless specifically asked
- 5/5

Clean facility. Staff was professional friendly and go out of their way to please and deliver any request.
- 0.5/5
NOTHING the fees and excessive charges they billed to my card!
- 3/5
Location Old, outdated, not comfortable. Toilets are not available in lobby without room keys, guys from reception takes you there. Broken seat on the toilet. Bad smell in the hallways. Not a quality one should expect for $900 a day. Cheap ceramic tiles on the floor always freeze your feet.
- 5/5
Overall goo experience
- 5/5
Had a marvelous time will come again
- 5/5
The facility is in excellent condition. The staff is super friendly and very responsive. They have an excellent concierge service where you can text them with whatever you may need on the property.
- 3/5
Food was good but way overpriced and forced 20% tip was absurd!!
- 5/5
From the moment you walk in you’re hit with a wonderful smell. The check in experience was a pleasure. The room was excellent, bed was super comfy, balcony and view were perfect. The service at the pool and beach was 5 star. It’s conveniently located on Lincoln so easy to walk down to the shops and restaurants, everything is nearby. Will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Great staff. Great hotel
- 2/5
Unfortunately, the room was disappointing and not what we expected from a hotel like the Ritz, especially considering the price we paid. The room was very small, and the view was only facing another building, which took away from the experience. It did not meet the level of comfort or luxury we were hoping for. Additionally, we emailed the hotel before our stay to ask if they offered anything special for anniversaries or if there were any available offers. Unfortunately, we never received a reply, which was very disappointing for such an important occasion. We hope the hotel can improve both the room quality and the communication with guests, as the service staff truly deserve surroundings that reflect their excellent work
- 4/5
Nice stay, clean, service was good.
- 5/5
The room was spacious clean could walk right out and into the pool area bed was soft and comfy. The was great always polite and helpful if we needed anything everytime we walked out asked if we needed water beautiful hotel and perfect spot not far from the anything .
- 5/5
It wasn’t the greatest beach view, but the breakfast was awesome
- 5/5
very good
- 5/5
Very helpful with late or early airline arrivals for checkin. When checkin desk was swamped, the wait was long, staff passed out champagne to us tired travelers!
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Welcoming staff. Spacious upgrade to a suite. Sofa bed not so comfortable. Two television sets. Lots of water and beverages. Robe, slippers and all personal items available. Spa and pool was amazing and should be utilized. Food also good. Walking distance to many restaurants and stores.
- 5/5
Beautiful layout, room was magnificent. Ritz on South Beach has it ALL going on…
- 5/5
The beach, pool and spa are wonderful. Rooms very nice and service excellent
- 5/5
Manager was great and found me a room at 1145pm when I wasn’t given my pre booked room at another hotel. Thank you!!
- 4/5
Lobby is nice, the pool isn’t very appealing, too many chairs everywhere. It feels very commercial. Would be nicer to have less chairs, more trees and nice things. Lobby is nice. Upgraded rooms are nice but my first room was pretty bad. Chipped and terrible view. Worst view I ever saw in a hotel in my life (looking down on some white tent) Not what anyone should ever see at a ritz Carlton. The cleaning lady was using my phone charger when I came back to my room. It’s okay but they shouldn’t use customer things.
- 5/5
Service was great!!!
- 4/5
We had a few problems with room ....air conditioning not working, hair dryer not working but staff were quick to fix the problem.
- 5/5
The rooms were very clean, and the staff was extremely professional and courteous. The pool and the access to the Miami Beach area are by far the most convenient and relaxing amenities within the property.
- 5/5
Beautiful & one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Best staff, one of the most accommodating hotels I’ve stayed at. I loved everything.
- 5/5
Outstanding in every way.
- 5/5
Incredibly helpful staff. Very comfortable
- 1/5
It was so bad that I actually requested a refund. I was approved on-site, so I cut my stay short and left — only to end up with a partial refund and a denial of the very promise I was given. That kind of treatment is unacceptable from any hotel, let alone one carrying the Ritz-Carlton name. This property is trading on the Ritz brand without living up to it in any way. For a brand that’s supposed to be the gold standard of hospitality, this was a disgrace to the Ritz legacy. I hope corporate steps in quickly because loyal guests deserve so much better.
- 5/5
Thank you to the hotel staff for making our stay so special!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
We liked the fact that staff were very kind and helpful, especially Mr. Bogdan was a real gentleman. It was the end of our honeymoon and we decided to stay in Ritz for 4-5 days to shop and relax, our flight was at 10 pm and we just asked him for a late checkout. Mr. Bogdan has given us a checkout at 6pm(which is very extra everywhere in the world) plus he has gifted us a bottle of champagne along with chocolate covered strawberries in our room. Nothing, everything was pretty good
- 1/5
I booked a stay at The Ritz-Carlton in South Brach Miami expecting the highest standard of cleanliness and luxury. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but. Upon waking up the first morning in my room, I was shocked and disgusted to discover a cockroach. At a hotel of this caliber, basic hygiene should never be in question. The presence of pests is simply unacceptable, especially at a property that prides itself on offering a five-star experience. It completely ruined my sense of comfort and trust in the brand. While the staff were polite, this incident overshadowed everything else about my stay. I expected far better from The Ritz-Carlton, and I left feeling extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope management takes this issue seriously and addresses it immediately to prevent other guests from experiencing the same.
- 5/5
First-time at this property. Usually stay next door when we’re in South Beach. Our kids stayed at the Ritz a month ago and raved about the pool area and how you could get a seat no matter what time of day. No getting up at 7 to get a chair at the pool! They also booked through Amex and got a great deal on early and late check in.
- 5/5
Repeat visit. Will be back.
- 5/5
Location, staff, pool, beach area, not even one single complain on my 4 days stay. No doubt, it will be the place I’ll be staying next time I’ll go back to Miami.

- 5/5
Excellent location Very nice on the beach area The only is that beach chairs and umbrellas are available until 6 pm it will be nice to be maybe an hour later
- 1/5
I booked a suite for four people and expected to be charged accordingly. However, I was surprised to see additional charges on my bill, including fees for the number of guests—which was already disclosed at the time of booking—as well as a resort fee, resort tax, and extra room charges. The total amount charged was significantly higher than I anticipated and quite unexpected.
- 4/5
Parking is paid, even for hotel guests. This is unacceptable.
- 3/5
The hotel is not a 5-star establishment due to the very poor service, a very dark lobby with terrible lighting, and a swimming pool that is completely crowded with no space between the loungers, so there is no privacy—something a 5-star hotel should guarantee. The staff is poorly trained.
- 5/5
Very comfortable bed
- 5/5
The breakfast at Zaytina was excellent! In addition to that the service at the pool was nothing less than exceptional and very personalized.

Always a peaceful & unforgettable experience at the Ritz Carlton Miami. 10/10
- 5/5
Everyone was so friendly and the rooms are gorgeous
- 5/5
Great location, older building.
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean, spacious room. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the pool and beach areas. Just phenomenal!
- 1/5
Very smelly, loud and hair on shower walls
- 5/5
Fabulous stay.
- 3/5
The cleaning staff was not up to Par. We had to make sure our room was cleaned daily.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 1/5
The hotel itself is noticeably outdated. For a brand that markets itself as high-end, the furnishings and overall ambiance felt more tired than timeless. Dining was another letdown — overpriced food that didn’t live up to expectations, and a mandatory gratuity of 18-22% added to nearly every charge, even when the service was lackluster. What truly ruined the experience was the terrible valet service and the unacceptable customer treatment. The valet manager, Manny, was especially rude and dismissive. When my husband went to retrieve the car and explained we were checking out early due to our dissatisfaction, Manny questioned him aggressively and made him feel uncomfortable, as though we were doing something wrong. His behavior came off as discriminatory and entirely inappropriate for a service-based industry. To make matters worse, another family member had “self-parked” his motorcycle with VALET and was still charged the full $65 valet fee — yet Manny made a big scene about it, as if it were some kind of inconvenience to them. It was unnecessary and unprofessional. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this location. Next time, we’ll be staying at the Four Seasons — where hospitality still means something.
- 2/5
Hotel is rundown and in need of an upgrade. Disappointing for a Ritz
- 1/5
Disappointed is an understatement. When I arrived, the trash in my room was overflowing and smelled. There was very little service at the beach and pool. They minimized their menus at both, so little options for food. The phone in my room was broken. Overall, just not a Ritz Carlton stay. The Loews next door has much better service and product for substantially less.
- 5/5
Nice property on the beach. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel!
- 3/5
For an ocean view room, I was first assigned to a room in an auxillary building with a shabby, near broken elevator and on the 4th floor with palm trees blocking most of the ocean. After complaint to the front desk, they moved us to the main building with a real ocean view. So, excep for the first front desk staff who gve me the initial room, the other staff members were very nice, but the facility is not really close to 5-star.
- 5/5
Very nice
- 2/5
Not a typical Ritz Carlton...weak staff (especially beach) ....atypical clientele, public beach, 2 drinks at the pool cost $60! (cheaper at the Breakers!)
- 5/5
good
- 4/5
The rooms and property were beautiful. I wish there were other options at the beach when umbrellas can’t be opened due to high winds.

The lady that worked the 10th floor lounge in the AM is wonderful, she is an amazing ambassador of your brand!
- 5/5
On beach. Walking to many restaurants and shops
- 5/5
Great pool!
- 1/5
Location is great, but will not be returning. It is very confusing to check in as there is no one at the front guiding you where to check in. Also it would be great if the onsite managers could greet guests. The hotel has been remodeled but not a lot of up keeping as the hallways to the rooms have stretches, scuff marks, and a faint older building odor. As for the pool and beach, they look nice but again the service was very mediocre. The server forgot to put in the drink order. I had to ask to get refills on water and ice. Overall the hotel in itself is okay, but the service is what matters most, and in that respect this hotel has a lot of work to do.
- 3/5
The room smelled of mold.
- 5/5
The room is very clean
- 5/5
High touch service, perfect location, wow... try the hummus or baba gannouge and be transformed and/ or rose poolside
- 5/5
Great amenities, staff are great, service was excellent
- 3/5
It was very nice and people were generally kind and helpful. Unfortunately we had a few issues. We went in the hot tub one evening and felt our skin burning and we jumped out and went to our room to shower. It lasted for about an hour. Our bathing suits and jewelry were ruined. The next evening I asked the front desk about it and they said there was a problem with it and it was overloaded with chlorine. They gave us a $250 credit and offered a cream. I was shocked that they didn't alert the guests so anyone who had been exposed could have been informed and made their own decision about treatment. If I hadn't asked, nobody would have told me which I found inappropriate. Plus, our bathing suits, cover ups and jewelry were worth over $250 so we lost money. Housekeeping never visited our room, a few times someone from housekeeping would offer towels but a real service never happened during our 3 night stay. Finally, I asked a bellman if he could get me a taxi at a specific time. He assured me he would. I went outside at the specified time and there was no taxi. I asked him and he obviously forgot so he wound up calling a friend? This guy said his meter was broken so he had to use a meter on his phone???? Then he said he couldn't take a credit card . It was such a rip off and scam and he told me I owed him $18 for 1/2 mile and needed cash . The combination of these three things made my stay just so so and not excellent like I expected.
- 5/5
beautifull

Great place for a one week stay
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! peaceful and close to everything

- 3/5
The hotel is severely understaffed and there are key things missing or broken. While room was clean and all staff members were incredibly professional the lack of enough staff left a lot to be desired. Wait time at check in was almost 30 minutes because they only had two team members working the desk. In addition one of the 3 elevators was broken during the length of our stay and our phone in the room regularly lost its connection when we were trying to order room service. The same person who took our order at room service was also delivering the order on two days so when she was doing a delivery the phone would just ring and ring. Again nice people but not the level of service you would expect from the Ritz. At check out they mistakenly charged me an extra person fee of $75 plus taxes a day and it took 20 minutes to get that resolved because the lady was the only person working check in. If they are going to remain understaffed they should provide a daily resort credit to guests to make up for the issues. Pool area was also lacking in cleanliness due to staff shortage. We had a nice time overall because the staff was so lovely it’s just not the level you’d expect from a ritz property.
- 3/5
The pool set up is horrible and only one side gets sun.
- 4/5
Room also was plastered against neighboring property so had to keep blind closed each day. Food options were limited so be prepared to seek other options. Nice property though and service was what you would expect.
- 5/5
Location and proximity to market was a key differentiator. I like the ocean view from the room balcony too. The only issue we had was the wait time for elevator. You have to plan a solid 5 minutes to get an elevator.
- 4/5
The property is converted from an old building. Rooms are inconsistent. There are not enough outlets.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Mason people as usual
- 5/5
The only place to stay in Miami or any property
- 5/5
They are the most professional syafff and group I have known for years.
- 5/5
Great location and good amenities around the beach and pool.
- 2/5
I arrived at 4:00 pm. My room wasnt "ready" until 6:30 because it hadnt been cleaned. When I got to my room it was not cleaned properly. Hair all over the tub and bathroom, dirty mirror, finger prints on tables. They dont have fitted sheets on the bed. They use a large top sheet to cover the mattress and tuck it in. I asked for a fitted bed sheet and they dont have those. Customer service and management were not accommodating to simple requests. I got a knock at my door from security claiming that I was being a noise disturbance. I was on a facetime call in my room doing nothing to disturb anyone. They harrassed me 3 times. I told them i refuse to end my call. Im doing nothing wrong. They dont have an airport shuttle and valet was total chaos. I would highly not recommend the Ritz South Beach.
- 2/5
Not well run. My room was not ready for HOURS. The elevator is perhaps the worst of any major hotel
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
The shower was in the bath? That isn’t a separate bath and shower.
- 2/5
The restaurant down by the beach is very nice , had great drinks and very nice and friendly staff. We also liked that the swimming pool is open until very late Will we go back to this hotel ? No We have been in a much better and nicer Ritz Carlton hotels
- 2/5
Wasn’t impressed with the value. Our phone never worked and power went out. It didn’t feel like a Ritz. Beds super comfy! And it was clean.
- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
The staff was great but it's time to do some renovation. The hotel is very dated, many places the wall paper is coming off the walls. The lighting in the room is very inconvenient. I dropped an ice cube on the floor and when I wiped up the melted water with a white towel the towel was instantly brown from the dirt. This was a surprise for a Ritz-Carlton. I liked the experience and staff but for the money I feel there are definitely more updated options.
- 5/5
Old time luxury
- 5/5
Amazing property with great and service. Make sure to get the breakfast buffet!
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Need more amenities but good property
- 5/5
The people and the property were all fantastic. Great location right in front of the beach
- 5/5
Fabulous hotel however, it it so comfortable I do not want to leave the bed. Love it! Will beach shortly.
- 4/5
The hotel is a bit dated, you can see the beach bar needs some love. Although right on the beach and close to good restaurants the location isn’t the greatest, a bit noisy, dirty and a lot of locals and tourists right outside the front doors. Wish I knew that beforehand. Personally a little disappointed as I expect 10/10 when staying at ritz.
- 5/5
The Ritz Carlton staff are the consummate professionals. My room was luxurious and glamorous. The amenities are top-notch. The hotel is beautiful and richly appointed. The pool area is relaxing and beautiful. My next trip to South Beach will be to The Ritz Carlton, South Beach. I highly recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Amazing they were so sweet waited on me hand and foot ! Great experience

Fabulous luxury getaway!!!

Amazing stay!

Not the place it used to be beds are worn down. Staff seems very upset overworked upset. Kind of spelled smells moldy, and mildewy hotels getting A little too old there's a lot newer and better places to stay for a lot less
