Suites of Dorchester

What a dump!!! It needs updates in the worst way.

The apartment type room is so spacious and decently clean except a couch looked like it needed a deep clean. I did not want to sit on it at all. Bathroom was a tiny space with no outlet to connect a hairdryer but I liked the shower head water pressure. The outside pool was clean and maintained well. The hotel did not offer fitness gym but we were able to use Sister hotel’s facilities including pool and beach access which was approximately 3 minutes walking distance. The hotel location was perfect. You can find many restaurants, bars and shops near by. Traffic noises were not the issue which I was a bit surprised but noise from right next door; TV, guests voices were interrupted our sleep through out the night. It was great Check out was 11am because I was able to take a nap to catch up some sleep after breakfast. Overall, perfect location and lower price compared with other nearby hotels. They offer what you need to stay comfortably.

The personnel was very professional and polite; the room was clean and bigger than expected; the location was perfect for our needs; the price was very competitive; the cocktail area is very comfortable with excellent personnel. We will stay in the same place in future travels to Miami Beach, FL.

I liked that they did their best to accommodate us in regards to early check-in and would also hold our luggages just in case the room wasn’t ready. I love that the place was really clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Great experience! Our apartment was very clean, the lady from the reception was very nice and professional and the housekeeper as well. We had a very pleasant stay.

I had requested a quieter room on the top floor, they took note of that and were able to accommodate. They put me in a room upstairs, on the back side of the property. The room itself was huge! You can tell these were likely apartments at one point. I would say it’s about 800+ square feet. Beyond the roomy front room, there was a nice kitchen, large bedroom and great AC. The location was right in the thick of it. Beyond the nice Cuban restaurant on-site, there were several other restaurants ranging from Americana to Mexican and more. There were also a few European-stem bakeries, and a CVS just a few blocks away. Overall this was a fantastic stay, and well worth the money compared to other nearby hotels and BNBs.

We arrived early directly off our cruise and we were able to store our luggage and change and enjoy the beach for a few hours until our room was ready. The room was clean and very spacious any comfortable for our 2 day stay.We would definitely stay again. Location was close to many restaurants and shopping and only a five minutes walk to the beach.

The reservation we made was for 1 king bed and 2 double beds. The room we were given was 1 king bed and a sofa bed. When we asked for the room we booked, we were told Expedia books whatever room is available and not what we actually requested. We did not have enough sleeping space for us. This was extremely frustrating and unexpected.

Front desk staff is always great here, this time even better, just smiles, friendliness, and professional demeanor. He did it all, and with speed and politeness. I wish the cleaning staff would not fill the air or maybe the carpet with deodorizer, it is hard to breathe, all you want to do is open the windows, it takes so long to get used to or rid of that smell. it should not be confused with being clean. in fact it feels like they are masking bad smells that come with not being clean.

Other than that, no complaints at all. Room was clean and serviced daily (which isn't the rule these days). Being set back a bit from Collins Ave is a plus, and the block itself is pretty quiet.

Nice location, close to everything; beach privileges, very nice pool in a sister hotel. Some issues with AC, but friendly service trying to solve the issue. Beds not too comfortable unfortunately but very spacious unit and very well worth the $ overall.

Cute and convenient apt right in the middle of everythg. Walked across the street to the beach. They give you ticket for chairs and umbrella. It was perfect. Will def stay again.

My sister and I travel to Miami each year and we alway stay at the Dorchester in one of the Suites. This year we got an upstairs suite with small balcony. Beautiful spot for morning coffee and sunshine. Great staff and wonderful location.

The suite was very nice and spacious! Friendly staff and the hotel has the most amazing food . Would highly recommend for families. Great location and can walk to so many cool places. We will stay here again for sure.

The infamous resort fee is a turn-off, but I hear it is charged in almost every hotel in Miami Beach. Had to park four blocks away in the city parking garage, but it is half the price than any other parking in the area.

The staff, especially the bell boys were so polite & kind, wanting to help without any financial gain. Everyone did their job professionally and with a smile. The rooms are unbeatable so far that I have seen in Miami. I've stayed at MANY places over the last 20 years, but not this one. From now on this is my first place to look. I loved the kitchen and layout. The courtyard is not so great, and sound travels loudly off the walls, but overal it'svery quiet and allows light in without being directly in front of a wall or window. The price is only fair. But you can get much less for this price anywhere else. Thank you.

I travel to Miami for work twice per year and I have stayed at Suites of Dorchester for the past couple of years. It's quiet, spacious and a perfect location. Happy is great and Moreno's is delicious and usually has live music certain nights of the week. It's become my home away from home... there is beach chair access and the pool is a nice sand-less option. See you next year!

I usually don’t do reviews but I had a horrible experience with customer service at the front desk no greeting no smiles but I do see them greet other customers . Also the pool is closed which isn’t noted on a website just a sign at the front desk . Although they give u passes to get a chair at the beach it’s inconvenient walking blocks with children . I seen bugs in the bathroom told front desk and nothing was done no room replacement or anything . However my room key didn’t work on 3 occasions and I had to go to the front desk each time I’m blessed I didn’t stay an additional 4 days like I planned and just went to another hotel . Very unpleasant if your black u don’t get any help no greeting or anything

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Suites of Dorchester. We would have liked to have an on premise fitness center and breakfast available in the restaurant during the week instead of only on the weekend.

This is an older property, but, the rooms are nice sized suites (1bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room). The hotel is clean and kept up. The property is within walking distance of everything - the beach, Lincoln Mall, etc. The staff was exceptional nice. This is not a fancy property but we'd stay there again. We enjoyed it.

We loved Suites of Dorchester. Our King Suite was enormous and very comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Location is great - we walked everywhere and enjoyed the use of the community free shuttle, as well. The beach was just a block and a half and passes for chairs and an umbrella made beach visits simple. We would happily stay there again!

The Dorchester always delivers. Recommend the deluxe suites though. Main hotel sometimes noisier and cramped. But hey, it's South Beach!

So I stayed on the suite side and was able to get it at an awesome rate close to the rate of that of a room. I was thoroughly impressed with this suite. It was well decorated and if I had a group, it would have worked nicely. The property itself is a charm/traditional art deco. It's centrally located, within walking distance to the beach, not in the loudness of Sobe but close enough to enjoy. As you walk in the sitting area is inviting. You don't see many hotels with a social sitting area outside and inside. Some hotels don't have the luxury. The chain hotels downtown are nice but the lobby areas are congested of people walking in and out. It's more corporate, catering to mostly business patrons. In Sobe you get the entertainment and social aspect of the hotels. The courtyard also allows for less noise/privacy. So some points: Yes there is a $150 hold on a credit card to cover everything - incidentals, resort and parking fees. Once you check out you are only charged the daily resort fee and/or parking fee if you chose to park there. I had no issues with parking. Overall, I found the staff courteous, professional, and friendly. I would confidently stay here again.

Amazing hotel for the price especially given Dorchester is steps away from South Beach. The best part is the large room size which is unheard of in South Beach. The only issue I had was the wifi was horribly slow.

Unfortunately we were put in a room (250) that had major construction going on right outside our window, beginning at 7am.

Our suite was terrific aside from the kitchen having neither a range top, oven or convection oven. The staff were excellent. Unfortunately the pool area was disappointing and did not even provide towels. It needs to be rehabbed. The dining facilities were disappointing as was the happy hour. There was an excellent set up where we were allowed to use the facilities at the Marseilles which had both an excellent pool and an excellent beach with lounges and umbrellas. We also went to one happy hour at this hotel and enjoyed it immensely. The combo is an excellent deal but it has to be strongly recommended at the time of check in.

Unfortunately the pool area was disappointing and did not even provide towels. It needs to be rehabbed. The dining facilities were disappointing as was the happy hour. There was an excellent set up where we were allowed to use the facilities at the Marseilles which had both an excellent pool and an excellent beach with lounges and umbrellas. We also went to one happy hour at this hotel and enjoyed it immensely. The combo is an excellent deal but it has to be strongly recommended at the time of check in.

At first i didnt want to go to the hotelbecause i read there was some cocroches but as i staid it ternd out to be cleaner then i thougt. There are lizerds outside but in all miami there is. It was o.k-. But clean and everyone nice !

2nd time staying here. For an all girls get away. We loved it. Location is great. Staff are friendly and hotel is kept up well.

The 2 bedroom suite was unexpected, I stayed here 2 years ago and and I had the same junior suite but it was only 1 bedroom. The location was perfect for the event I was attending and the room was very spacious and even though it was 2 couples we still had a lot of privacy. The only problem that I had was trying to get wash cloths

Upon arrival we were told our stay included beach chair , towel , and umbrella rental. At checkout we were charged a $15 dollar a day " resort fee " which covered those privileges. Would have been nice to know that up front. Hotel is in a great location. One block from the beach.

I enjoyed everything about this hotel but the staff. Super rude, minimal contact, and the bartender should definitely get an attitude check.

I have stayed in 4 hotels in South Beach and for space, comfort, cleanliness and facilities this was by far the best. Staff were always helpful. Didn't use the restaurant at all as there is far too much easily available nearby andwe provided our own breakfast using the in suite kitchen. (which could use a kettle for European visitors.)

Like a lot of hotels in the area, this place is getting old and could do with some work. It was perfectly comfortable for a couple of nights, and easy access to beach and other locations. If you have plenty money there a many better places to stay, and although not particularly cheap (it is Miami Beach of course) it represents reasonable value for money.

The suite was perfect for us. We had 4 staying the first night and 3 the second. All the space was great and we used the kitchen for breakfass and lunches. The beach use across the street was also very nice!

Nice atmosphere and kind staff. Really nice suites but do not expect great views. Dubble beds rather small. Suites really dose not have a "fully equipped kitchen", though it it possiple to do simple hot meals. No Owen. Sometimes a lot of noise from the street if you live in the "northern" placed suites

A lil far from ocean dr ... Specially in a 100 degree weather but overall, it is a very nice hotel and me and my family loved it...however, the sofa bed could've been a lil more confortable.

We stayed in a suite and was in Miami Beach for a party. The four of us found the suite very comfortable and roomy and had a great experience!

If you aren't looking for some extremely lavish but accommodating ridiculously spacious room, this place is perfect. I thought there would be a catch for the price but there truly wasn't. I weighed getting a room at another artdeco hotel that would lead me to run into the wall once you step out of bed or this suite for similar price range. No question, it'll be the hotel I continually return to in south beach, especially with a group or family. Parking was a bit annoying but there is a 24hr parking deck 3 blocks away that is half as cheap incase parking at the hotel is booked for the day. A+

Great staff, after our flight was delayed 5 hours we did not get to the hotel until 2 am, and checking in was no problem at all. Very nice suite. Very clean and tidy. It was very comfortable. Also so close to the beach yet far enough to not hear the noise from the hotels with party all night clubs.

This hotel has a great location, right in Miami south beach. Beach was less than 5 minutes walk and shops and restaurants too. However the hotel could do with a paint job. the outside looks tired. the pool is smaller than the photos suggest but the rooms are massive with a lounge separate dining area and kitchen.

great hotel with great staff! we enjoyed the stay especially since we were originally booked at the cavalier hotel and we were not happy whatsoever. as a result, Dorchester was a huge upgrade. And we appreciated the clean beds, the microwave, the kitchen supplies, the living room..EVERYTHING our previous hotel dint have.

This is a GREAT hotel to stay at. Its right on Collins. Blocks away from the beach and clubs. My boyfriend and I wanted to just relax for a couple of days and we picked the right place. If I'm going to Miami, definitely staying there again.

Good spacious accomodations in the suites.The suites are good for families. A little noisy in the suites from people walking upstairs but apart from that, good stay, friendly staff, great price for the accomodations. Furniture a bit dated but clean.

I really enjoyed the staff, the front desk ladies were great and even helped me to fix an issue with my reservations because I somehow reserved a room one night and a suite the next so they just upgraded me to an available suite-WONDERFUL the area is very pretty and cozy the suite was great! I was in 3 hotels this trip this being the last and the best! Thank you!

Parking my car was a real problem!

Beautiful, comfortable room. Everything was clean. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay there again.
