Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the hotel's proximity to the beach and other attractions. However, there are consistent complaints about the hotel's amenities, including issues with water temperature, air conditioning, and the size of the rooms. Some guests also express dissatisfaction with the hotel's policies, such as not holding luggage after check-out.

American Express got involved and called him, where he ignored multiple calls until I stood at the desk and watched the phone ring, while the agent said "I've been trying nonstop" while on speakerphone. Then he told the American Express agent whatever he needed to get her off the phone, and proceeded to ignore additional calls, and lie to me that "I haven't heard the phone ring at all." This individual basically told me there was nothing he could do and no one he could call, and despite me showing him 10 separate reservation numbers, he acted like I might as well have been a liar. I was shorted rooms and also given less than stellar locations split among multiple buildings. I'll be doing my best to dispute as much of the transaction as possible, as hospitality establishments boasting an 8.6 rating on South Beach and calling themselves a "4-star establishment" don't deserve our money if the staff refuse to provide any service whatsoever.

It was ok but my wheelchair couldn’t get around the room or the elevator that good

Clean property near the main strip, South Beach and Miami Convention Center. Centrally located- unique vibe - cute boutique hotel. I have stayed 3 times. One reoccurring theme I notice is maintenance . Toilet bowl seats with screw missing, shower drain cover not screwed on, missing lightbulbs, balcony door not closing tight etc. The other challenge at times is the staff ( front desk included) not great with English and not a great understanding of customer service. It is clean and good value depending on what you pay. Some of the 2 and 3rd floor corner balcony rooms nice. Ask for extra towels - they are not extra provided for 2 people. One other note - there is no place to leave luggage if you need to check out and have a day planned before your flight. Some of the amenities are shared with other hotels in area . Not necessarily negative but awareness not everything on premises. There is a second pool across the street which is lovely. Variety of guests - young to mid 40’s typically. No issue with noise on my stays although the area is busy. Great deli on same side one block away. Orange blossom restaurant close by and many shops and activities. South Miami never disappoints.

All good No room phone
- 3/5
Great location, close to beach and Convention Center. Beds were nice and comfy. The hot water didn't work property, staff tried to fix it but it kept having problems. The room was nice as we had a suite but the halls of the hotel smell really strong and the carpet looks dirty. Looks like the hotel needs some remodeling.

Rooms smell like mildew. Only one trash can not even one in the bathroom. No parking on site. Staff offered no help nor concern about our parking situation. They offer nothing but an over priced room. Avoid if at all possible.

There was mold in the bathrooms. Air filters in rooms clearly not changed frequently
- 5/5
The room was clean. Bed was unbelievably comfortable. Amenities good. Unfortunately, I only stayed one night, and it poured so I did not get to enjoy the bar or patio.

The staff is very friendly.

Property is a little outdated but very clean, good restaurant, decent pool, and a very good Deli right across the street. Good stay for the price, will definitely stay here again if I needed to.

This is not a hotel nor luxe suites. This is a motel with hair on the sheets, plumbing issues, and pest and mold and water damage on the celling.
- 1/5
Towels looked really dirty, they were supposed to be white, but they were dark. Bathrooms in the lobby area had leaks. The floor was dirty. My pillows had hairs. do not recommend

It was a nice place just a little old. My balcony door would not lock. Had to get maintenance to come and close it. Couldn’t use the balcony for the remainder of my stay. Elevator was kind of shaky.
- 3/5
Although immaculately cleaned, the Riviera is an old school hotel with modern furnishings. This doesn't exactly make it a better experience. Several of the electrical outlets were loose, causing plugs to either fall out or sag. Wi-fi was terrible, especially later at night. The lights flickered constantly throughout the stay. The shower was incredibly difficult to figure out, and the TV served minimal purpose as it wasn't a Smart TV, despite the remote having a button for "apps". Overall, the stay wasn't terrible. It served it's purpose, being just around the corner from the events I attended at the Miami Beach Convention Center and New World Center. Everything was within walking distance and although I paid unnecessarily for resort amenities, I didn't use them. While I'll likely consider somewhere else to stay in the future, depending on your style and preference, the Riviera really is a nice hotel. Just wasn't up to my standards.

However i found unsafe that the hinge of the glass door in the bathroom was broken and I had to keep it open at all times because it was really concerning. Additionally, and unfortunately, the hallways smell really bad. Lastly, it is extremely difficult to find parking spaces around that would allow the parking to be 24 hrs parking. I am definitely not coming back.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very close to the beach and restaurants.

The keys never worked had to keep going to the front desk

It was raining all three days and water was filtering in the room , several Licd leaks on the room and they didn’t go and fix it. They transfer me to a different room and it was also filtering water in the that room and leaks all over the windows.
- 2/5
Doors wouldn’t lock /balcony pool was dirty ! Not really good food options in the restaurant coffee was disappointing! Stayed here a few yrs ago was really disappointed from we was here last evening was perfect but unfortunately not this time 🙄tv wasn’t a smart tv nothing to enjoy watching
- 0.5/5
there was mold in my room
- 4/5
The beds are extremely firm, only one elevator that’s very small so only 2 people with luggage at a time. So it can be a wait. TV’s only get 12 channels half in English, half in Spanish. The shower is nice but not shower mat so floors can be slippery or you can use one of your 4 towels. I had to ask for towels, hand towels and wash clothes the 3rd night because they forgot to leave any. Location was nice, short walk from the beach and Ocean dr. There is only a few close dining options but a little further of a walk there are many (6-7 blocks). There is a nice little restaurant and bar tucked away next to the main office that was good and the staff were all very friendly. We ate there twice and had drinks there once. Overall it was decent, not great but it was fine for this trip. Would I stay again, most likely not. Did I hate it, not at all.
- 3/5
Overall a nice place to stay. The bathroom in our room had only one of 2 shower doors and water sprayed everywhere.
- 2/5
Room A/C was a standing unit which did not cool enough, door key would not work to open
- 4/5
Went to check in, and understood it was too early. Staff stored our bags for us which was very helpful. He then informed us we would be upgraded to a King Suite. When we went back to finish checking in, it was a different person and didn’t give us the upgrade that was stated we were going to. Also, later that evening we went to ask for more pillows and blankets and the front desk staff was very rude. Two of us went down to ask and the guy only brought back one pillow for two people.
- 5/5
Beautiful quiet stay while being a three minute walk to the beach. They also provide beach towels for you at the front desk. The staff was excellent, everything was clean, the accommodations are great. The breakfast was good but the dinner and drinks were even better. The pool is also very nice and well maintained. Tons of chairs to just lay out on. Definitely a great stay for solo travelers or small groups.

OH MY GOODNESS! The Riviera Hotel South Beach is #1!!! Nelson at the front desk is a “Gift From God!” He is very professional, kind, attentive & the greatest ever! Our room was extremely clean, accommodating, comfortable & the balcony was everything! There are lots of bars near, the beach walk is super quick & CVS is a quick walk! The entire hotel is extremely clean! There is a bar/restaurant right across the street that stays open until 5 a.m. nightly & the kitchen closes at 4. Drinks & food are delicious! There is a watermelon salad & a coconut cocktail-1000 out of 100. We have found our forever place at the Riviera Hotel South Beach. Oh, the roof top pool is a complete vibe & very nice!
- 2/5
Awful place. Never again.starting from staff that was at first nice and than when I wanted to extend stay they said no problem of course we will check you in to other room right away. Turned out they left me to wait outside for 5hours, I lost all day and than other room was disaster. Very loud, no privacy… just horrible end of my vacation

The free breakfast is at a restaurant 10 minutes walk, too far for a old man. The pools are also at a different property. Last but not least. The bathroom sink is not in the bathroom. Is this crazy or what? You do pipi then you go outside to wash your then back to dry your hands.

I have been stayed at the Riveria often. The Riveria was the first hotel I ever stayed at almost 10 years ago. At this point it feels like my home away from home. I have spent two birthdays here and have never regretted booking the Riveria.
- 5/5
more space. Staff were friendly, the location was close to the beach, the rooms were clean and spacious. If I was to really look at finding something that could be improved, I’d say the minibar was quite expensive but all of Miami felt expensive at parts and I am sure it’s in comparison with competitors. I’d be more inclined to use the minibar if prices were reasonable in my eyes.

Well location is great! As for staff, Nelson was the brightest point of this hotel. As for penthouse studio, very poor… with major issues, like air conditioner create condensation and dripping… but no, I woke up hearing sound of waterfall and one part of the room under ventilation was literally raining… everything was wet and dumped… wall next to it with electrical closet where fuses are was completely wet and you can feel that wall under is soaked… like crazy… I used all towels and ice bucket to pick up water and I had to empty that ice backer every few hours. Than if would stop and randomly start again:.. bathroom very weird layout that when you on toilet you can’t close the bathroom door. One wall is in mirror but no mirror in front of the sink and lighting is positioned so hkh can’t see clearly your face even when hkh standing in front of that mirror wall. Fridge have protected so you can’t change temperature and it’s barely cold. No ice but you have ice machine. Big rooftop patio with no sunbrella but there’s a stand for it. Very odd place, plus design is like Liberace exploded there, but every single item is from Temu. And I wanted to extend my stay for two days and here I am I. Koby sitting and waiting 4 hours between check out and check in cause I have to change rooms lol so… that’s what’s up here

The hotel was average, nothing particularly special about it. I would recommend an investment in new towels, the towels they had were dingy and should have been replaced long before my stay.
- 2/5
The room that is shown, isn’t what I got. The room was so tiny, the shower handle kept on falling off & having a room with the restaurant viewing into it, isn’t okay at all. Never again!
- 4/5
Great place, wish they had microwave in the room.

Room was not ready upon check-in time, apparently had door lock issues. Hotel advised it would be another hour before room was available. When refund was requested, another room was provided - there were no towels in the new room, balcony door was not useable. Front desk clerk made no effort to assist. Had to find maid re towels, no one was available

I liked that the hotel gave you a happy hour every day that stay there and that it was free and you got free coffee and water every morning, but that was it and you had to pay for your breakfast, but it was different options you could get. I also liked that they had two different pools you could go to. I also love the smell of the hotel, every time you walk in, it was like a fresh smell of flowers I also love that you could sit outside and just watch the view watch the people and then it was this guy. His name was Ronald. He is a big help to people that never been to Miami and he helped us go round to each place and showed us different places to go to and told us where to go to the eat and the attraction and stuff, he was a big help as well. I loved it there, and I will visit again.

The location and the kitchinette were nice The smell in my suite and that it was very dark inside
- 4/5
I Loved the location!! The facility was beautiful it was accommodating with a restaurant and roof top pool. Riviera was clean and smelled pleasant!! The customer service was awesome and the staff was very kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious the grilled salmon was my favorite ? the best on south beach. The thing I couldn’t take was the thin walls with all the noise. It was constant thumping and sliding of things and things dropping. You can hear the music very clearly like it was in our suite. It disturbed the peace extremely and it ruined ? our sleep ? I also didn’t like that I didn’t have a balcony.

Thanks, C.M
- 2/5
Housekeeping barged in our first day of check in without knocking and when I tried to ask what they need, they just disappeared. No one came to clean our room till the 3rd day. Old rundown. The only thing nice was the restaurant in their property and they also allowed to keep our luggage after check out.
- 5/5

Staff was very friendly and helpful, everything was great.

We were upgraded to a suite which meant a bigger bathroom + a sitting area. But in another building away from our other travel companions. There are lots of stairs for both buildings so if you're lugging big suitcases, prepare to haul them up. Our room hadn't gotten a good deep clean in awhile (hair on the bathroom floor, dusty doors). Fine for one night but if cleanliness is your #1 priority, choose elsewhere.
- 2/5
I was really looking forward to this vacation. The photos online looked like a dream but unfortunately when we arrived, it was a nightmare. The property was severely OUTDATED. The room was extremely overpriced for a very tiny space. The water pressure was horrible, for the shower and toilet. The room that was given to us was near the staircase and we heard nothing but the door slamming all night long. The bed was hard, not comfortable at all. Our room was never cleaned the whole entire stay. The hotel has a “free” happy hour for the guests but they only give you one free drink so please don’t call it a free happy hour. That was very misleading. The pool looked like something from the 70s. Nothing has been updated. The staff was nice at the front desk. But the overall experience was 3.3 out of 10.
- 5/5
This was an amazing property everything in the room was neat and clean the mini bar was completely stocked there were cooking utensils pots and pans everything you need for extended stay
- 2/5
The guy at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The woman was stressed, tired, and overworked and it showed. The property was a dive. Pics looked great online but our room was a dump. The shelf in the closet was broken so there was nowhere to put luggage except on the only two awkward chairs in the room. The shelf under the sink was broken and falling down, the tiny desk was wobbly and falling apart. Hardly any outlets to plug in phone chargers. The bed frame squeaked so loud that it woke my wife up any time I got up. The toilet seat was broken and delayed our check in because they had to repair it. The top sheet has stains on it, and the bathroom counter was dirty.. nothing looked or smelled clean or sanitized and there was hair on the bathroom counter and in the sink when we arrived. Towels that should have been white were dingy. Again, staff was nice enough but the room was garbage.
- 2/5
My room smelled like piss, it was moist and there were leakage due to the rain, I asked for a different room because I kept sneezing due to the weird smell. But the new room was also super moist. I woke up to a wet floor and my straightner was also wet due to the moisture. I had turn the air conditioning on but still, didn’t work

The hotel is made up of three separate buildings.
- 2/5
The property was first looked pretty clean, but here were the issues: cleaning carts with Janitors supply outside my door the crew making noise there, the room: toilet ran had to fix it myself in the middle of night, broken toilet paper roll holder, outside street noise loud, broken night blind curtain so it let light in room# 361. pool: lounge cushions were stained. Then when I mentioned to front desk the issues the Deep Blue eye girl at the front desk high five the customer behind when he said I’m not here to complain! Yeah I won’t be staying there again
- 2/5
Room in first floor got loud with people hanging out in the lobby. And music started playing early morning so not the best for getting good rest.

No beach view but a close walk. A fun vibe overall, bed was comfortable, but not enough lighting in the room, mini fridge barely cooled and a portable air conditioner was used to supplement the air and blocked the ability to open doors to the balcony.
- 2/5
Door to patio was taped shut, staff not friendly, mold on bathroom windows
- 3/5
A bit over priced for my opinion. Both pools were freezing cold. Rooms were decent but had no fridge or anything like that. Bathrooms seemed very old fashion. Good location though.
- 5/5
The room was excellent. The staff was Amazing! Nelson, Cristian, Rocio and the manager Mauricio went above and beyond!
- 5/5
Front desk girls were very helpful.
- 5/5
Excellent location
- 3/5
The card key lock wasn’t working and I had to go back downstairs to reception 6 times during my first day. Finally on my second day I met a maintenance person and explained my issue and they were able to take lock apart, adjust it and resolve problem. It was frustrating
- 5/5
Very clean. Amenities were being cleaned all day. Staff was great! Love the Sofies at the bar. A perfect location to all around..
- 2/5
The problem is they charge you more fees when you arrive then what you agreed to and paid through expedia.
- 5/5
The place is beautiful a lot of restaurant options around. The beach is very close. Perfect spot to be at.
- 4/5
Wonderful staff and clean room. Property could use some updating and expedia listing should reflect that they do not offer airport transportation. Great location and pool!
- 4/5
The staff were friendly. It’s the perfect location, super close to the beach and many restaurants, coffee spots, everything you need. The room set up was a little odd, like a large dresser poorly placed and the closet door that is a mirror in the entrance that will break if someone opens the door with the it open. The bathroom is outdated. But I would definitely stay there again for the location and price.
- 4/5
Great location and vibe - lots of common areas to sit and socialize. Room was ok, beds hard, water pressure not great on 4th floor and our toilet made a terrible noise for about 30 seconds after flushing. Good value.
- 1/5
- 2/5
Location. The property is too outdated. The bathroom shower door would not close properly resulting in water flowing into the bedroom. The fridge door wouldnt close properly. The room looked beat up.
- 4/5
They only have a few channels to choose from. Not a great selection. The shower was warm, the kitchen was great! Close to a lot of things. The pools were nice. And the restaurant happy hour was a nice touch.
- 5/5
Shower did leak out a little bit, but overall not to bad.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience! Strategic location, well appointed, exceptional staff (the hotel manager, Mauricio, and Rocio were truly helpful and genuinely personable). Every single request was addressed promptly.
- 2/5
Loud. At night its loud from the club close by and people partying till late and at 830Am the hotel plays music. So no sleep. The bed was really uncomfortable and hard. I founs fake lashes a few dead buyg and hair in the shower

Unable to make trip and nobody answers the phone to get a cancelation due to weather

There are a lot of mixed reviews about this hotel that made me nervous, but I had a wonderful stay. It's two blocks from the beach, offers two pools, and I stayed in a Queen Suite that was spacious. The hotel is actually two separate buildings, so you may have to cross the street for certain pool access. While the room was a little outdated, to me, it didn't matter. I loved that I was able to get to the beach in 5 minutes, or walk easily around Collins Ave and other major streets. I was able to take the bus from the airport just two blocks from the hotel. Some of the outlets didn't work, but plenty did so I was able to do what I needed to do and charge all of my devices. The AC did take a long time to work, so on hot days I could imagine it gets toasty. The only thing that I didn't like was that there is almost always music playing in the common areas, and where my room was located was right near a common area. The AC was loud but if it wasn't, I would have heard the music all night long. I did ask about this and was told it was up to each hotel's management, and one of the nights I found someone to turn it off. In general, I don't think this much music is needed in indoor common areas. The walls were thin so you can hear other people, but depending on where your room is, it likely wouldn't be too annoying.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, very accomodat5ing, near the beach and the view was very accommodating to me. The manager with the beautiful eyes was very helpful, the bar staff was very kind, when I was out in the porch area they would come and check on me to see if I needed an additional drink. Extremely helpful staff.

Great staff. Perfect location.
- 3/5
Good location. Service not so great. Took 3-4 times to request towels. Toilet not flushing properly. Sliding door was not closing properly when we arrived.
- 2/5
Changed. No in room coffee. Folgers coffee in the lobby. Cleaning staff did not knock before entering creating some awkward moments.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay with an exemplary staff
- 4/5
Hotel is a bit outdated, but the location is good. The staff is very friendly.
- 3/5
Property itself was clean. The staff were professional, however there is no customer service telephone number that works. If you need anything you have to leave your room and walk downstairs. The bed was old and uncomfortable and walls are super thin, the person above me was walking around all hours of the night and it kept me awake because it was so loud. If you’re a light sleeper not the place for you. Food nearby is excellent and only a 3-5 min walk to the beach. Don’t get a car unless you need it, parking is additional and the lots are sketchy due to the neighborhood. There’s an area a few paces outside the hotel where a lot of loitering happens.

Discussing place. Invest some money and renovate the rooms. Filthy and smells horrible.

Our restroom was in a different room than the sink.kund of weird.

The ladies in the little cafe were really nice…. But that is literally the only nice thing I can say. The room was dirty, the entire property is really rundown and nothing like what you see in the photos.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, spacious and perfect for our stay with a toddler. Location is right in the middle of south beach and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Definitely recommend

Great location! 20m from airport, 2 blocks from the beach, restaurants nearby, public parking lot on 23rd st.- $20 for 24hrs, good sized room with balcony! Free morning coffee, friendly staff. Cons: No cleanliness supervision. Bathroom was not cleaned. Lumps of hair in the shower, used razon and chewed gum on the window sill. Thankfully I always travel with flip flops to shower and clorox wipes fot the toilet seat. Such a shame. They need ro invest on cleanliness and rooms reresh. At least the towels and sheets smelled like clorox and also looked clean. Overall good bang for your buck if you're ok with the above mentioned posibilities.
- 3/5
The room itself was decent for the area, but the shower turned cold halfway through. Overall the stay was okay, but improving the check-in process and guest service would make a big difference for future guests.

Great location, old building. Things we most noted about the actual hotel: you can’t control the AC temperature in rooms or open any windows. The rooms and lobby have very strong smells (not good). The hotel itself is a pretty old building, so doesn’t feel super updated. Not bad for the price, but probably would stay somewhere else if we go back to South Beach.
- 3/5
Old bathrooms are disgusting
- 2/5
The room did not have a phone and if you needed staff had to cross the street to the other building for assistance as they never answered the phone thats listed for you to call from cell. My room secuity top lock was broken mentioned it to staff never came to replaced ask for another room was declined that opportunity. In addition to check out ask the day before for later check out was advised i can just come back in the morning, I did that and was denied considering it was very slow in Mimia during my travl days I was disappointed. The front desk lady was very rude and dismissive.

Location was ideal/ walked to the beach and restaurants easily. Grocery stores near by. Loved the 2 pool options.

Our first room looked outdated and the a/c didn't work, but after going to the front desk we were assigned another room and it was nice and comfy. After 2 nights the a/c was noisy, but still was cold. Great location near the beach. Would stay again.

I alerted Expedia, requesting a refund, as I paid for accommodations, i clearly did not recieve, but they declined. Additionally, I tried to contact hotel multiple times, ahead of my arrival, and the phone number on file, was never answered once. I would not stay here again, and very disappointed in Expedia’s lack of willingness to help resolve this.

We couldn't check in when we arrived and staff was not friendly. When we checked in later, there was no one to help with luggage, including on departure. Floors, furniture and bed had scratches and fabric missing, carbon monoxide detector hanging from ceiling.

1 no heat in the rooms 2 lamps fell apart in the middle of the night both nights we stayed there. 3 Rooms are out dated and poorly light. 4 Ceilings look horrible in the rooms 5 the cost of parking
- 1/5
We travel a lot! This is by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in their penthouse suite. I have never stayed in a louder more broken down dirty hotel room In my life. Floor tiles lifted to trip on, floors painted on that lift on your feet when you walk on them. The overwhelming loud sound of the elevator rattling the walls every time a floor is called to lift you no matter the hour.
- 3/5
The staff were friendly, but wasn’t impressed with the room. To be fair, we didn’t pay much for the room so low expectations. Regardless, I would not come back here. It was loud, you can hear everything going on in the other rooms and someone was blasting heavy metal music. The hot water in the shower barely worked and there was basically no water pressure. The bathroom was clean but it’s outdated. We were only here for one night. It also happened to be on the day it was cold here and the heat wouldn’t go up past 64 so it was freezing
- 2/5
Bottom line, I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Staff was rude. I made reservations on line and when I got there they charged me walk in rate and I could do nothing about it if I wanted a place to stay. They checked me into a room and when I walked in there was a guy laying in the bed so I had to get assigned a new room. The TV had 12 channels and only 3 in english. Internet was terrible. Had to get a new key card everyday. Band from restaurant was right outside my window and played till 2 am every night. People sitting at the restaurant tables was less than a foot from my window and could hear everything they were saying when the band was not playing. Mini fridge on the floor leaked everywhere. Shower had no door so towels had to be placed around toilet to absorb water. Only mirror and sink was beside bed so to brush your teeth you had to sit on the bed. Only 1 person spoke english and he was on night shift. NO PARKING. Restaurant food was garbage. This place needs shut down immediately. I have no clue how they have stayed in business for 6 months. Oh I forgot GOOD LUCK getting fresh towels unless you want a fee.
- 4/5
Checking in was stressful because I was on the plane when it was communicated to me that the property does not accept AMEX. Luckily my partner jumped in to save the day. I had been calling the hotel all week but they did not answer their phone. Another nuisance was that I was not provided with my breakfast vouchers upon check in. I checked in at around 10pm so I was told I had to wake up at 7:30 am to get my vouchers. The room was ok...it was not stocked so all we had was a fridge & we did not have a phone so I had to roam to make local calls. Other than that it was a lovely stay. There were many food options and the beach was relatively close by. You could walk or jump on free tram to get there. The hotel had a nice roof top pool with loungers which was nice. We had a balcony facing the main street & the hotel had a daily free happy hour where we could get a free drink. I would definitely return again. Overall Id rate my experience an 8/10.
- 5/5
Everything was fine. I appreciated the “Happy Hour” and the restaurant.
- 1/5
Waited behind one person in line for about 15 minutes. Another person came up and jumped the line while i was waiting. Was given my room keys and a map, only for the desk person to stop me as i was walking away to tell me that because i have a child with me, they needed to change my room. Gave me keys to a different room. Got to the room and the keys didn’t work.

Staff was nice and offered an upgrade but I was not interested in staying there after that Just a bad vibe the hotel is in a weird area and the pictures make it look but better then it is

- 2/5
Regarding the room, it’s totally different from the pictures as they provide on the website. Like we can watch TV because it’s on the wall when sun always on screen and the couch not in front of the TV. It’s on site which is not comfortable to watch and there is a lot of important things like toilet flush remote control for the TV and other things which is not working and also a lot of things was broken the stuff can’t understand when we try to explained, like for example, we’re trying to tell them to bring a sign which we can’t put on door for not distribute they keep coming inside while we’re sleeping we can’t call front desk because there is no phone in the room and also when we’re going downstairs there is never ever you can find the person on the front desk. Like couple times our keys is not working not opening the door and we have to go another building which is across of the street. To get some help .It was very bad experience we have I cannot understand the people who gave them 4 stars
- 1/5
the room was for had a broken floor drain in the shower with no lid the toilet seat was broken also no air conditioning working properly had a portable unit in the patio door not working very well and bed was to low maybe because it was a handi cap room never recommend this place again
- 5/5
Very good location for us since relatively quiet location one block off Collins Ave. It is 10-20 minute walk to nearby parks and venues like Botanical Gardens, Collins Park and 2 blocks from the beach. Our king bed suite very roomy and comfortable with sofa, dining table and chairs and kitchenette. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and nice. Workers were very understanding and nice as well. Very quiet area and friendly people around Parkin was stressful though, lol
- 2/5
We booked a double queen room with the intention of using the pull out sofa for an additional guest. Upon checking in, we were told that our room was in the building across the street. All of the hallways were musty. The elevator fit three people and it was very rickety. Once we entered the room we saw that it had not been improved upon in decades. When we pulled out the sofa bed we noticed that it was broken. When we used the shower water came up from the floorboards into the bedroom, and there were also large hair balls around the room. The first morning we were there I went down and spoke to someone who seemed like a manager. I told her all these things and asked if someone could come up to the room to check them, she wrote them all down on a Post-it note and walked away. Needless to say no one had come up to the room our entire stay to check on or fix these issues. There was also no offer to move us to another room. The pool needs to be cleaned and there is no one working either of the bars that I saw. The last morning we awoke to rain coming in through the windows and spilling all over the windowsills and floor. At checkout I told the front desk about this and they did not seem concerned at all and just said they would send someone to go look at it. I’ve seen many reviews for this hotel, and when anything negative is said the hotel responds that they will fix it and do better, but needless to say I don’t see that happening. I advise you to choose another hotel.

My room was across the street from an outdoor bar and restaurant that closed at 5 am. Glad I brought ear plugs. When I checked out of the hotel, a day early, the manager was yelling at his staff in the lobby. The poor woman behind the desk was paralyzed into inaction as the boss was such a jerk. Blaming her for his mismanagement. It was apparent that he blamed staff. As an ex-CEO, I blame him and the hotel. There is no coffee in the room. And they do not make coffee in the lobby until 8 am. I will not stay here again.

The room was really small and the bathroom door was see through. I traveled with my 11 year old daughter and boyfriend it could have a little more privacy. Not many amenities and no microwave. Food is really expensive due to up charge 20% gratuities and the food we didn't eat we put in the refrigerator but could ot warm it later.
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff were excellent, both pools spotless, onsite restaurant great as well.

It was my first time in Miami and as much as I loved South Beach I absolutely hated my hotel. To start off the room we received had the bathroom sink outside the bathroom. The room service was delayed, and then when they came they attempted to open the door without knocking while me and my spouse were in the room. They told us since we were coming from New York they would accommodate an early check in, upon arrival we had to wait passed our check in time. This hotel seems very short staffed, ill mannerism, and poor upkeep. The last straw was we were told that we would be able to hang out in the pool after our check out since check out is 11am and our flight is at 9:30 PM. Upon checking out they did not even acknowledge us let alone give us a towel for us to be in the pool with. Mind you we stayed for a day shy of an entire week. Worst experience in a hotel out of all the years I have traveled. Highly disappointed and would NOT recommend to anyone.
- 4/5
Great property in a fantastic location with a fun vibe! Right where you want to be but enough out of the crowd that you can rest easily!
- 3/5
Keys never worked, room service at 5pm is Not acceptable. Rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned, kinda dirty and definitely do not match photos.
- 1/5
The TV wasn’t working and the service is the worst. I cannot belive that’s a 4 star hotel.
- 3/5
Room was nice and large. Balcony was nice. Did not like that the cleaning trolley was always parked right outside our room. Our door lock failed one night and it took hours and many trips to the front desk to resolve and ended up ruining our dinner plans.. On our last night, alarms went off at 5 am and 5:30 am for no reason.

- 2/5
The location of this South Beach hotel is excellent—close to everything. Unfortunately, there were serious issues with our stay, most concerning a strong odor in our room that appeared mold-related. It aggravated my son’s asthma, causing severe coughing during our stay. After returning home, he required a course of steroids to relieve his symptoms, and his condition improved once we were out of the room. As the week went on, the smell also began affecting me, causing a sore throat, headaches, and chest tightness. I am now using my inhaler and recovering at home. We should have moved hotels but had paid in advance and were financially unable to do so—something I will not do again. Other issues included an odd room layout (toilet and shower separated from the sink), ongoing noise from a restaurant courtyard, and a troubling experience at the on-site restaurant when a possum was under our table, which staff dismissed casually. We were also charged a mandatory $36/day resort fee, adding hundreds to our bill. We didn't use the amenities: the main pool was very small with broken chairs and limited seating, and the second pool across the street was very shaded and we didn’t use it. While the staff and location were positives, the health, cleanliness, and value concerns made this a disappointing stay. I really believe we should get our resort fee back. The air conditioning pad showed “replace air filter “ and the shower has black mold spots
- 4/5
I loved every bit of the hotel. Obviously, it was a great stay and a decent price and, when I'm back in Miami Beach, I'll definitely stay at Riviera.
- 3/5
The place could use some updates.
- 5/5
Very good
- 3/5
The hotel did not provide cups for us until we ask for it the second day we stayed there. The bathroom has a bad moldy smell to it, so I have to close the bathroom door when I went to sleep to prevent from getting sick from mold. I would not go back to this hotel the next time I am in Miami.
- 4/5
This is the best place to say in South Beach if you want to catch a good night sleep and also go around and visit happening areas during the evening hours . There are three convenient of parking options. This is not clearly mentioned, but it would help if they clearly advise.. We came in early by 3 to 4 hours and they gave us the room that was fantastic. Customer Service kudos and not even big chain hotels do that.. now regarding the parking you have free street parking for two hours if you’re just plan to be there, you can keep moving your car every two hours. That’s a free option. Second is the pay option using your ParkMobile app. Between 3 AM and 9 am you have free parking. And the third option is there is a parking garage on the 23rd street, which is just a five minute walk. Use that. Don’t use the one which is right across the street because it’s $40 per day. The only advantage being you can go in and out as many times but honestly we don’t need to. There is the fourth transportation option which is a free wagon or a trolley you call it that goes and you can use that. This is a great place great bedding I would recommend you upgrade to the suite and it’s worth a stay if it is three nights or more.

- 1/5
Property was very moldy! Mold spotted on my sheets, 1st room given had a broken air conditioner, had to re-pack everything with no accommodation. Air purifier needed badly! The lobby smells great, once past that, everything smells like mold.
- 5/5
Clean, fancy, and nice staff
- 5/5
Front desk associate was very helpful! My room is cute and I love the balcony!! The hotel is in a quiet area, off the main street but still close to everything.
- 3/5
The elevator was not functioning the whole time we were there. I informed the front desk but all they did was put a sign on the elevator door. I did not appreciate having to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I'm 63 years old.
- 5/5
All beautiful went well
- 3/5
The courtyard area was really nice, I had the balcony room and it was spacious. The pools were freezing cold! Hotel was in walking distance to alot of eatery and shops.
- 1/5
This hotel is very cheap. The "breakfast" is way over priced and is at another hotel 10 minutes away and they won't give me a refund on the "breakfast" that I didn't use. I will never stay here again! Not to mention the noise, I had to wear noise cancelling headphones just to sleep.
- 5/5
I'm forget my jacket at room and the housekeeping manager sent a person to help me, she across the street go for open the room for other person and then desapear for the swimming pool area and never attend my request, another nice woman help me, SHE DONT FOLLOW HER MANAGER INSTRUCTION.
- 3/5
Kind staff, overall good experience however this is a budget hotel. Please note free drink is one drink per person between 5-6 pm & breakfast is 3 blocks away. Breakfast is buffet- all they got is potatoes, veggies, bread. It’s not typical breakfast. We had an issue with our room so we had to change over to the suites. The rooms are tiny and renovated but you can see it’s “cheaper quality”. Overall, the staff was kind and tried the best to accommodate and make a better experience
- 3/5
Note: The hotel description days ‘climate controlled’ while other websites clearly say the Riviera has heating when it does not ( false advertising on all counts). The person said they will let the manager know and someone will come see me etc the next day- not one manager has been seen since, and neither did anyone come to check on me to see if I was still alive after I mentioned a possible Asthma attack coming on. Fortunately the maintainence-concierge guy was kinder, empathetic and more understanding than anyone else at the hotel. While the Riviera hotel was clean and cosy ( King suite) I think that by being called 4 stars it should be able to hold your luggage, have climate controlled- or at least not falsly advertise this and heating on other sites as its very misleading. Brighter reasonably modern decor would be nice to brighten the rooms.
- 5/5
--- I had a wonderful stay! The room was absolutely spotless — everything felt fresh, tidy, and well cared for. The staff were incredibly courteous and welcoming throughout my visit, always ready to help with a smile. I also really appreciated the amenities, which were convenient and well maintained. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely stay again!
- 3/5
Let us check in early Very friendly Property could use touch up Rooms smell funny and out dated Price was right though
- 4/5
The room was very clean. Unfortunately my ac did not work but the repair person was very nice and they moved my room. The door key stopped working and I had to go to the front desk 3 times. Despite this, I still recommend this hotel because the staff is stellar and the aesthetic authentic. I like the on site Cuban restaurant. The manager kindly granted a late check out for my inconvenience . If safety is a concern, book directly with the hotel as one building of the 3 is street accessible. My bed was comfortable and the location is quiet and very close to the beach and cafes. I think it is good value and have recommended it to friends.

The Riveria South Beach has 3 buildings, 2 pools, restaurant. The 1 bedroom suites rooms are very spacious. You get 1 free cocktail at the restaurant betweem 5pm - 6pm and regular Happy Hour from 5pm - 7pm. The food is very good.
- 5/5
It was clean
- 3/5
When arriving things were a little confusing as the check and desk was across the street from our hotel room. The hotel was in an excellent location bar/eating area floor was very dirty along with the floor in our room was dirty that we asked to have mopped and never did get mopped. The paint was coming off the ceiling in the bathroom I have pictures but I'm not able to post them here. I asked for a luggage cart as we are traveling across country and have a lot of luggage. I was told they were outside the main lobby but I had no way to get them up the stairs at our hotel which was across the main lobby and no help. The last complaint I am leaving is the shower ledge sloped away from the shower and you always had to pick up wet towels from the floor.
- 2/5
After going down around an hour later All the man said was sorry it was a misunderstanding with another guest they were in the other building across the street. (Hotel has two buildings with the same room numbers I’m guessing). Staff should have checked the details in their system before opening any door. Narrow elevator only fits 2 people. Narrow staircase. No microwave, that’s another thing no phone in the room. Didn’t even know if that man was staff until I went down there and say he was behind the desk. Not a 4 star hotel experience!
- 2/5
The staff wasn’t that friendly and the hotel looked a little run down

Not a 4 star. No wash clothes, charge a resort fee but not a resort. Oh and the bed is hard asf
- 3/5
Bathroom: The sink is located outside the bathroom, which was not clear at all on Expedia. There were no towel racks or hooks anywhere near the sink or shower, forcing us to improvise with doors and furniture. The shower also lacked a handheld head, which is a basic amenity for comfort and accessibility. Breakfast: “Breakfast included” meant walking to Maxine’s Bistro, about 0.2 miles away. Food quality was inconsistent, burnt sausages, cold toast, and under- or overcooked eggs served on disposable plates with plastic utensils. Staff often ignored complaints and at times were dismissive or condescending. One employee used pet names like “mama” and “my love” while brushing off our concerns and even admitted the breakfast was poor because it was “free.” Service: The GM, Mauricio, did check in and acknowledge our frustrations, offering a larger “VIP” room and promising a deep clean or possible gesture, but there was no visible improvement or follow-up. Positives: Our corner room had excellent light, a wraparound balcony, and the area itself was pleasant. Overall: Misleading advertising, subpar breakfast, impractical bathroom design, and dismissive service made this stay feel frustrating and not worth the price.

The staff amazing ! Property beautiful! But many many times we were locked out, inconvenienced or stuck places because handicapped accessibility was not a priority and unsafe ! Elevators have no safety features working and it could have been disastrous
- 2/5
The service was nice and housekeeping was efficient however there were roaches in the room. I killed maybe 3 over the span of two days. Idk it’s because of the restaurants nearby or what.
- 5/5
Great time will be back
- 3/5
Ok, first things first! I did not receive the room I saw in the pictures on Expedia ! When I mentioned it to the front desk they basically told me that’s on Expedia because that wasn’t the right room. That was my first issue. The rooms are a bit outdated. The floors creek, the doors squeak, the hotel is no smoking and we smelled cigarette smoke the entire time. The noise from other rooms between 2 and 7 AM is INSANE ! We saw the staff smoking vapes in the lobby. I mean if I would’ve saw the real pictures of this place I honestly don’t think I would’ve chose this hotel. It wasn’t terrible but, those pictures are definitely false advertisement!
- 4/5
Staff at the front desk was very sweet and informative about where to eat around the hotel. Only thing I would say is they need to update the TVs in the room and have more cable channels

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had as a company. I booked 10 rooms months in advance for a tradeshow for our team, a few days prior to one of our members wanted to extend so he called the hotel to come to find out that they were actually getting fumigated, we’re not planning on telling us and just moving us once we got there to another hotel… After speaking to their staff, which I will say try to help as much as possible, they were able to get us rooms at one of their other properties for one night until we could check in at the Riviera the following day. Upon checking at the Riviera 1 the hotel looks nothing like the photos, to the rooms had no AC, sheets were dirty, towels were dirty, and a couple of our members had beds that were slanted… This was definitely not the experience that we were hoping for/this should be rated as a two star hotel. Truly absolutely unsanitary in every way shape and form.
- 5/5
Clean room and great staff
- 5/5
Loved that we were in a room that didn’t require using an elevator. Room was a good size, clean and staff were helpful and nice!
- 1/5
DO NOT RECOMMEND
- 2/5
The carpet in bldg 1, floor 2 was absolutely gross. Just so many stains and trash and hairballs in the floors. The pools need scrubbed and cleaned. Unappealing to swim in. Wall are very thin. Bed was comfortable. TV…just local. Which, is fine overall, but if you’re charging a resort fee, the resort experience should be elevated. Oh, couch is uncomfortable, especially for sleeping.
- 3/5
Not Clean room/ hard to communicate/
- 5/5
Really nice hotel! Friendly, helpful staff and excellent service! Nice clean rooms and the pools are wonderful!
- 3/5
I loved the location of the property but it needs TLC. The TV didn’t work our entire three day stay, the towels were dingy and stained, fridge door was broken. Front desk personnel weren’t helpful or friendly.
- 4/5
Super clean loved the property
- 5/5
Was really nice location .
- 4/5
The staff were amazing super sweet, and accommodating. Only issue I had was we set out for dinner at 9:30 at the restaurant inside of riviera and it was closed at 9:30 they wouldn’t serve us . They close at 11 though
- 5/5
Stay here every time I come to Miami love the pools and service. And the beds are soooo cozy. Nice windows when it rains. There’s a deli market next door with full on Caribbean and soul food plates are $17 feeds 2.
- 2/5
Also the parking was very expensive around the hotel ($50 for 12 hours). Overall, the room/hotel did not look like the advertised pictures and was a disappointment.
- 2/5
I’m from Miami, so staycations is what I like to do for my bday celebration from time to time. I was reminded why I never stay in South Beach. $30 resort fee plus tax a day for what again? The pool was GREEN, the tv was static and not working properly. Front desk handed me a dental kit while housekeeping was not aware they provide dental kits. The elevator was down all day on a Monday. And what hotel charges an extra $25 after only asking to check out late at 12pm? The ladies working at the front desk that check out morning of September 30 were rude and unwelcoming. I do not recommend this property. It’s a money funnel. It is not worth it at all. So many better hotels in Miami. I feel scammed. Thanks for making my birthday morning not so great. I’ll especially like to thank your rude staff that morning for not at least giving the courtesy of a 12pm late check out. I work in a corporate offices of a high scale luxury hotel, and this was extremely appalling experience. From the dirty pool, broken tv, rude women at the front desk, unprofessional and poorly trained. I would never come back.
- 3/5
The room was fine however there's recirculated pool water which was dirty. I constantly had to ask for room towels
- 5/5
I love this place every time I come to Miami I stay here see u next time
- 2/5
Property was not like the pictures showed!! Definitely not what I expected!! We was there for 5 days & 4 nights!! The air conditioning went out day one & the vent was leaking water was everywhere!! They sent maintenance to so call fix it but it wasn’t fixed, vent still was leaking & the room temp was never under 80 degrees!! They gave us fans but it was only cool if you was sitting right under the fan!! I enjoyed the city but absolutely hated the stay at Riviera!!
- 3/5
The hotel itself was nice, cute and clean. My experience was tarnished by the front desk employee named Marilyn. She was rude, angry and had an attitude. I was checking in at 7 am on a Saturday and had made reservations for Friday night check in knowing that i would not be able to check in so early in the morning. I paid for a day (Friday) that I knew i wasn't going to arrive until the next day. Out of hundreds of other hotel's, resort, air bnb's I chose yours. Only to be greeted with a disgruntled employee. I tried to explain my situation, I had called on Friday evening and spoke to Walter to explain my early arrival the following morning and he was going up leave a note to advise the morning staff. But Marilyn just rudely and sternly advised that check in was at 4pm. She didn't let me finish my sentence. After she realized that I had reservations she continued to check me in. She accused me of not saying good morning to her after I returned the same attitude she had and was giving me..excuse me. Am I an employee of the Riviera? If she doesn't like dealing with customers then she is in the wrong position. She gave me a room that was a lower category that I had paid for. I went back to her to tell her that I had paid for the 1 bedroom suite with living room. She said that was all she had. I requested to speak to a Manager because I refused to be treated poorly from her going forward. I worked with Opal who made the room change to the room I paid for. I wouldn't stay agai

Excellent... balcony is brilliant

Everything great had a good time
- 5/5
First time in miami and this hotel was perfecr and close to everything we needed. Hotel staff was great and very friendly, would definitely stay again here.
- 5/5
Property was perfect for my vacation. Check-in was quick and friendly. There were a few quirks with my key not working once or twice and I had to wait one day to get my room straightened out, but I enjoyed my stay. It was within steps to Collins Ave and the beach, allowing me to hang out and enjoy the beach at sunrise. There is lots to do, including the Miami Convention Center, Botanical Garden, and lots of food and shopping. If anything there were tiny details in the room that could have used attention, but I was otherwise comfortable and feel this is a jewel of a location to invest in. Great for solo travel.
- 5/5
Excellent and highly recommend!
- 1/5
When I went to go and check in after everything was already prepaid, they asked me for a $34 resort fee, which I thought was just ripping me off since I prepaid everything
- 2/5
There was a strange smell in our room, the smell was a mold or mildew smell, and rotten eggs. The ceiling look like as if it’s growing mold on it, not sure if it was made that way but I doubt it. The floor was very wet and moist our whole stay. When we first checked in we had towels but there weren’t any small face towels, when I asked for face towels I was only given 2 towels after we had been there for 2 days already. Every time we left and came back we noticed that housekeeping entered our room but didn’t clean just took towels and didn’t replace them, if they did it would be all big dry towels no face towels. The restaurant that’s connected to the hotel the food was horrible and the 2 female waitresses were very rude, and had very bad attitudes because they had to do their job. I asked the front desk for a manager and was told that they don’t do business with them. The overall room was okay despite the horrible smell and no face towels in our room upon check in and also the floor being moist and wet our whole stay. Me personally wouldn’t stay here again the next time I visit Miami.
- 4/5
There was mold in the room

After booking this hotel (due to other hotels randomly closing their pool), we learned that their rooftop pool was
- 5/5
Front desk staff were very unfriendly, didn’t welcome or smile, and unwilling to help. Exact opposite of the housekeeping staff who smiled
- 4/5
Cute hidden gem however walls are thin could hear nosing ppl walking on the room unobtrusive , very old property needs updating, hall way corridors had old musk structure stench smell , pool area nice looking however needs cleaning daily.
- 5/5
This place was fabulous. Check in was easy, efficient and welcoming. The staff is so freakin nice!!! I’ve stayed many places in South Beach… this one has a kitchen in it, allows dogs, and separate bedroom area. Def worth the upgrade! The beach is within walking distance, CVS and Joe and the Juice just around the corner. I would recommend this place!!
- 2/5
Property needs updating there towels, and the room smells like mold.
- 4/5
It was cool
- 1/5
The hotel had no parking, while waiting in line to check in there were multiple people complaining of the plumbing not working, upon checking in and getting in our room it smelled like mold and Mildew, we had no working AC and they had a portable AC unit with a tube pulling air from outside, we had to go to the front desk every time we wanted to use the toilet for them to come fix the toilet, the showers flood the bathroom which is probably causing the mold and mildew smell, no outlets in the rooms to plug in phone chargers etc. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST
- 3/5
extremely humid rooms with no windows but nice room and bathroom for the price
- 1/5
Terrible
- 3/5
I hope management takes care of these issues, since this place has potential, but my recent stay was disappointing.
- 5/5
Love the pools and the decor of the rooms
- 5/5
I loved how there was access to various activities, we visit the Art Gallery, walked to Lincoln Avenue restaurants, caught the bus down Collins and had just a great time.
- 3/5
No microwave no ice machine and staff speaks very little English
- 5/5
The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and polite. We arrived early and had no issues.
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 4/5
Staff was good and would accommodate you in anyway they could and a overall great experience for my 1st time in Miami!
- 4/5
I loved the community spaces at this hotel and the tropical vibe. The "bamboo pool" was our favorite. Our room was small but comfortable and the balcony was nice. When I checked the sheets I did notice the mattress pad was not clean. It had debris and hair on it. Icky. I was too tired to complain and forgot about it. One other minus, the hotel advertised coffee in the lobby and that is non-existent. I asked and was rudely told they didn't have any. The front desk personnel was not friendly to other patrons asking other questions either. I messaged Expedia about the coffee and the response was it depends on "availability" which is a joke. The bar staff was also hit or miss as far as friendliness. It is a pretty property with a few missteps.
- 5/5
Very nice and comfortable and very affordable
- 5/5
Good overall. I will be staying again.
- 1/5
Staff was very rude at check-in for no reason no smile. It looked like it was a chore to get us in. We stayed at South Beach hotel last time two weeks ago. They charged $40 same as Riviera for parking the car, but they actually parked it for you. In this case they send you to a parking lot with no elevator had to park on the third floor and it was quite stinky. There was no amenities in the room other than a fridge no telephone no safe very very small. Could barely move the other issue in the morning Asked for one hour delay so I could put the suitcase in the car. Of course they won't give that to you unless you pay $25 an hour check-in is at 4 PM. Check out is at 11 AM. That's a little bit unfair in my opinion overall, I think there are many better options
- 4/5
Property was clean in a great location and hotel staff very respectful and attentive of your needs
- 5/5
I’ll give it a 7.5 but other then that it’s good pools
- 2/5
My stay was not so good customer service was horrible there was no microwave the tv was not working the water was not hot it was warm had to ask multiple times for clean towels never booking here again
- 5/5
Great stay ! My family had the queen suite which was nicely decorated. However the building is aging and it shows in some areas. I think more thorough cleaning would help with that. The pools are not big pools but I loved the size and the rooftop was amazing. The staff were super friendly. I didnt like that our room didn’t get cleaned one night especially after I left a message about the cleanliness of the room. It’s wasn’t filthy however soap scum and water stains were visible , and the bathroom door kept getting stuck. The light fixtures in the bathroom had visible dust buildup and we had 2 cockroaches visit . The beds were super comfy! The tvs are older models so not much is on and they aren’t WiFi TVs. The beach was a block down , the location was close to everything and easy to find. I wouldn’t stay here again only because I’m a hotel snob. But this hotel is Beautifully decorated .
- 3/5
The door bairly clossed and thr toilet was messed up
- 1/5
This property did not have bath clothes! We requested bath clothes on 2 separate occasions. I had to stop a worker that didn't speak any English and ask for bath clothes from her cart. She had none! She had to go into another room and remove the bath clothes from there.
- 4/5
Decent stay
- 2/5
I had to ask for towels several times, light were too dime in the room. The sink was outside the bathroom which made it werid to was hands. drinks was water down. The ice machine didn’t have ice for most of my stay. The ceiling looked bad like it was cement.
- 2/5
The room looked nothing like the pictures is felt dirty smells like paint there was pretty much no lights the shower was working poorly the water was leaking out of every possible place except the shower heads I accidentally booked an accessible (handicap) room and wanted to change it because I didn’t require it but the front desk told me that this is what I booked and that’s it the water in the pools was murky and they were small there is no insulation in the doors (big gaps) it was all really disappointing I’m really surprised this place has 4 stars
- 1/5
Staff was adamant about trying to keep my reservation in a room where the temperature was 83 degrees even with the portable a/c that was on 60. This went on for over 15 mins before he decid3ded to switch rooms. Also putting in a workorder takes forever as well!!!
- 3/5
- 4/5
Like that the property decor plenty of options for great photos
- 2/5
This is an unfortunate set up. The hotel staff, rooms, location, amenities and facilities were as expected. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The unfortunate part is that the motel rooms circle a center courtyard that contains a restaurant. The restaurant is not owned or run by the hotel and is very very noisy. We had an early morning flight but going to bed at any decent hour of the evening was impossible given the proximity and noisy level of the restaurant. A hotel’s primary function is to provide a place to sleep but I don’t see how they can provide that service with the current restaurant relationship.
- 5/5
Manager was rude made me wait 2 hours on the sun until room was ready. Rooms are very small and the pool on the roof was nasty complained every day but no one seem listen. I had to clean the pool bugs myself.

Many inconsistencies between Expedia summary and experience. We were unable to check in for 90 minutes past the documented (in email sent by Expedia) check in time of 3pm and were dismissively treated by staff. Name of hotel is inconsistent and as a result, Google maps directed us to wrong hotel (site says Riviera Hotel South Beach on Expedia , not “Riviera Suites”and I received an email with the correct address AFTER I had checked in. ) ironically, the staff there graciously gave us the correct address when the uber app could not locate the hotel as named on Expedia and in the pre-check in email. Shower set up leaked all over bathroom floor and the bathroom door was semitransparent (wavy glass so your image was distorted but visible) which is not ideal when you’re traveling with friends. Final straw was morning coffee was located in a different building across the street. I was directed through a locked gate which lead to a construction area-luckily I ran into an employee who lead me through the back passages to get to the lobby No tea or even hot water as advertised, and coffee was undrinkable—a minor issue but summarized the lack of attention to details. This hotel needs to be consistent in their advertising on third party sites. Great architecture generally but would not recommend.
- 3/5
It was in a good location but the room needs some repairs for broken lights, tiles, etc.
- 1/5
I did not feel safe in this hotel. First, they put me in a building across the street from the hotel lobby. There were 2 homeless individuals high on drugs in the streets roaming. The first night, the fire alarm went off around 2:30am. My party and I exited down the stairwell closest to our door. It led to a alleyway with broken glass and a locked gate that led to the main street. We had to go down the alley for a block until we go to the main road. The firefighters came and turned off the fire alarm 10 minutes later. It took another 30 mins for the power to return to the rooms but the AC unit took longer. I talked to the front desk Saturday night about the situation but I was brushed off.
- 1/5
The first room they give me had blood on the sheets
- 1/5
This hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed in south beach the room was not clean there was hair and dirt all of the floor. The bathroom toilet had hair all over it. The comforter on the bed had old blood stains on them which means they don’t wash the covers after each guest and the staff was so nasty and rude after explaining and showing them this they argued with us about her having pictures of the room being clean even after the cleaners they sent back to try to clean told us they are sorry and the lady is new and didn’t vacuum the floors because she didn’t know! Also all their cleaning utensils was left in our room I started using them to clean since they didn’t know how. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and they wouldn’t even offer us a dollar off of our stay for the inconvenience and the hotel is very loud and noisy and also parking is down the street for $45 a day
- 5/5
The Riviera South Beach had all of the amenities I needed, was conveniently located and the staff made everything go smoothly.
- 5/5
I would like to thank your entire staff for their stellar service from check in, customer service, bar attendant, pool attendant, maintenance attendant, maids and the attendants who cleaned the road edges around the hotel. I would like applaud everyone for their attention to detail during my stay which lead me in extending my stay by one day.

📍South Beach, Miami ⭐️ Rating: 10/10 — HIGHLY recommend This was actually my third stay. Let me put y’all on real quick — I stayed at Riviera Hotel South Beach and babyyy… it gave everything it needed to give! 🔑 Check-In: Quick and easy! Staff was friendly, check-in was smooth, and they hit us with complimentary drinks on arrival. Already a win. 🛌 Room Vibes: SO cute and spacious! We had a suite with a living area, bedroom, and even a mini kitchen setup. The decor was giving retro Miami in the best way — clean, comfortable, and definitely photo-friendly. 🌆 Location: Walkable to EVERYTHING — beach, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Whether you’re relaxing or turning up, you’re in the perfect spot. 🏖️ Amenities: Two pools — one rooftop and one tropical garden-style. That rooftop pool? A whole vibe. Quiet in the mornings, party-ready by the afternoon. 🍽️ Food & Drinks: The restaurant downstairs came through with good food, strong drinks, and good service. Perfect for pre-game or post-beach bites. Would I stay again? In a heartbeat. Perfect for a girls trip, quick reset, or birthday weekend. Great energy, beautiful space, and the location can’t be beat #HotelRiviera #SouthBeachMiami #TravelWithMe #MiamiHotelReview #GirlsTripApproved #TravelVibes #HotelStayReview #Wanderlust #ContentGirlies #LuxuryOnABudget #10OutOf10Ex

no have parking and the more economy in 45$
- 2/5
There are 3 buildings. The pool that isn’t on the roof is small and if you want access to a different pool you have to go to a different building and only the main one has staff members who can assist you. There was no telephone in the room to call for housekeeping or the front desk. The room cards needed to be reactivated multiple times. The AC was coldest in the bathroom and the floors did not feel clean. The bathroom door would get stuck on the floor when you open and close it. You have to individually turn on/off any lamps for all the lights. The best part about this hotel is how close it is to the beach and it’s walkable/convenient but I wouldn’t stay here again. I’m not sure how it’s 4 star hotel.

Hotel atmosphere was nice They have free complimentary 2 drink Happy Hour everyday of your stay from 5-8pm. They have 2 pools rooftop and bamboo pool which was closed everyday which bothered me because of the light rain which is normal in Florida but they still had it closed! Your only option was the beach for swimming which is 4 blocks away. Balcony was pleasant because I could have a view of city nightlife Pet and kid friendly!!! Overall I was unbothered and enjoyed my stay!!! Would book again!!!
- 4/5
Inconvenience for parking and expensive as well.
- 5/5
I states here once in 2018 and this time I got a suite it was the best experience the staff was very nice as well
- 4/5
Room was clean. Staff was ok didn’t ask for much though. Didn’t have an ice machine had to ask bartender for ice. Room was kind of small but only stayed weekend so was fine. Exterior was in good shape but musty smell from the interior lobby from continuous rain. Would stay again give 3 out 5 overall.
- 4/5
This was a great hotel with a very Miami Beach vibe. Live music Friday and Saturday nights but not too late. Very friendly and helpful staff and a great restaurant/bar right downstairs. The room I had was fantastic and I loved coming back to the room after VERY hot days to just lay down and relax. The only downsides, which were kinda big ones was the lift was out the whole time so I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs constantly over the 4 day trip and the key card access for the room constantly broke so I had to get someone to fix it a few times which made me a little worried about the security of the room. Regardless of these 2 things tho it was a really nice stay, would definitely be back though ill ask about the lift before I book hahaha
- 1/5
Leaking shower Shower head fell off mid shower Closet does not close No hangers when asked Tv didn’t work initially Room was not as chosen, wrong size bed and layout Elector does not work and no notice was given. Had to carry a 50 lbs bag up 4 flights of stairs. Very loud humming noise from the light by the front door. Had to use elastic to close curtains to bright purple light did not shine in all night. Toilet paper holder about to fall off the wall Towels were left on dresser, not hung up or put away in the bathroom. Black feet after walking around barefoot. Floors have not been properly cleaned. The complimentary breakfast was not even in the hotel which meant I did not have the time to even use them to travel to another hotel.

Some staff not friendly
- 3/5
No clear directions of which of the three buildings to check in. Staff didn’t help with bags. Elevator didn’t work, so had to carry luggage up to top floor, while front desk offered no assistance. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable

First day we got there the receptionist was super rude telling us how there’s no quiet place in the hotel when all we asked was to switch us to a higher room. Idk how this place has 4 stars. The information online is false. The pool closes at 8 but online it says 24/7. The room always felt dirty even after cleaning, had a weird smell. No phone to contact reception and they don’t even have a microwave and the kitchen didn’t help us either. Definitely stay somewhere else unless you are never planning on staying at the hotel.
- 2/5
- 1/5
No one know anything they can charge you on things you didn’t ask for
- 4/5
Near to Convention Center
- 2/5
The jet aircraft engine in the air conditioning unit made so much noise I could not list n to the tv at a normal volume. The maid picked up the used towels but left new ones on a table by the door, not putting them in their proper place. I booked too many days and ended up paying for the days I could not use, the hotel said sorry there was nothing they could do… Disappointed to say the least.
- 2/5
2- no bell hop to assist with luggage so we carried our bags up 4 flights of stairs 3-bed sheets were dingy and had long strands of hair throughout 4-no coffee machine in room 5- staff members at front desk are not pleasant 6- on several occasions, I needed ice and it wasn’t available in the machine 7- no phone in room 8- day 1 of cleaning, housekeeping did not take out all of the trash in room and did not clean the floor
- 4/5
Very clean but no elevator
- 2/5
We did not have a good stay at the Riviera Suites. We read reviews before going and decided to book a room for the night before and after our cruise, as it is close to the beach. The check-in process took a really long time. The staff were not friendly and were not helpful. The biggest complaint was that the elevator was down and we had to take the stairs to our 4th floor room. The stairwell smelled like dirty feet and body odor. Our room faced the bar/restaurant and it was SOOO loud at night. Our door did not shut itself, so we had to push it closed. The toilet was super loud and had a screaming sound coming from it. The shower door did not latch, so when we took a shower, the water ran out and onto the tile floor, making it slippery. The sink is on the outside of the toilet/shower area, so it was not sanitary to use the bathroom and open the door to go out and wash our hands. A couple of positives were that it was two blocks from the beach, the A/C worked really well and the main building/check-in smelled AMAZING!!!

When I arrived to this location I thought I was going to enjoy it like I have before. Wrong. When I was checking in as I gave the staff my ID she says oh we have two ppl here with your last name. I looked at her and said you have my ID. I was trying to surprise my boyfriend with my cousin and her boyfriend joining us on the trip. Then the lady called my cousin name out loud. As if that was called for so my boyfriend said oh that’s the surprise. I was pissed tf off. Then we had no hot water in the shower only in the sink. Then the elevator stop working 6/16/2025 I asked the lady at the front desk when will it be up and running again? She said we just called someone out to fix it. They must be coming from the island somewhere because when we left it still wasn’t working. Now I will say the location was nice , the food is great ,& they give you one free drink from 5/6 during happy hour. The staff at the front desk never apologized after I told her she ruined my surprise. So I was really disappointed with this location I will never visit it again.
- 3/5
Property friendly, had no ice machine but had ice buckets, booked for a balcony room, ended up without one, and heard the family above us all night long. Sounded like they were dragging furniture across the room and stomping. Hotel is clean though, staff was ok.
- 3/5
They advertised a happy hour with food and drinks did not exist The pool opened and closed at inconvenient times. No one to help with luggage

When I first arrived at the property it had a funny smell . When going into my room the smell got worse it smelled moldy and old . During the first day water was leaking from the ceiling onto the floor at night . During the second day I seen three roaches in my room. I informed room service and the receptionist in front in were I sent a picture to them . They said a deep cleaning would be done . I came back latter that night and the bed was fixed and cleaned but I still seen a roach . The next morning more water was dripping from the ceiling above onto the bathroom floor. I informed Expedia and the property and both did not refund me even with my pictures and videos of the issues I had . They gave me a free breakfast that I wasn’t able to even go to because of the time that wasn’t listed . Terrible experience all and all do not book !!!!!!!
