Reviews
The hotel received mixed reviews with guests praising the location, cleanliness, and staff friendliness. However, there were several complaints about the room size, noise levels, and maintenance issues.
- Great location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small and outdated rooms
- Noise levels and maintenance issues
- 5/5
The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as represented in the pictures. The pool was great, location was almost ideal. Hundred percent would stay again in the future.

As of June 2026, the property appears to be undergoing some extensive remodeling, but the noise and ongoing work did not affect our stay in any way. My partner and I enjoyed our stay and found the rooms to be modern and comfortable. The only thing I’d note is that, although the cleaning team came by every day, the bathrooms could use a more thorough deep clean.
- 2.5/5
Location was excellent and the staff extremely nice and professional the carpet in the room, as I0'm allergic the first nighht I've asked if there were room with no carpet, they told me that all rooms has the carpet in and offered a deep clean on the next day. After the deep clean I had no problem but I do believe that they should do a deep cleann everytime they change clients in the room and better get rid of the carpet
- 5/5
Incredible pool and beach access for a smaller boutique hotel.
- 5/5
Great pool, nice breakfast. I had problems switching off the Air condition and using the room phone.
- 5/5
Courteous and very helpful staff... Loved my breakfast at the cafe.... Absolutely Delicious... Proximity to Beach / Pool lovely and to the ABFF Conference Awesome.
- 5/5
Great experience
- 4/5
My main complaint is that the hotel regularly hosts private events at the pool without providing advance notice to guests prior to booking. During these events, the pool is unavailable for guest use, which is disappointing when pool access/pool area is one of the amenities of the property. In addition, the parties can continue late into the night, creating significant noise that carries into the rooms and disrupts sleep. Better communication and consideration for hotel guests would greatly improve the overall experience.
- 5/5
The staff and hotel was great!
- 4/5
Overall we had a great stay at this hotel. I enjoy the smaller intimate layout, the large pool and patio area with bar, and easy access to the beach path. The one drawback from our visit was the fact that the gym was closed for renovation. They were providing day passes to a nearby gym, but that was not super convenient, and also the gym did not have towels or self locking lockers (you needed to have a lock) so for the average hotel guest those are inconveniences.
- 5/5
I stay here few times a year. It's my happy place. Love the pool and views. Right on beach. Highly recommend. Staff are so friendly and they remember you! Love that
- 5/5
This is my go-to hotel in South Beach. I've been twice and will go back again. It's a great location -- walkable to everything -- has a great pool and bar. Rooms are small but clean and pleasant, and the staff is outstanding.
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff, fabulous design and decor in public spaces.
- 5/5
Great property great location! Access to the beach and a large pool compared to other properties. Great restaurant and excellent staff!
- 1/5
Also note this is not “oceanfront” it is a hike to the beach going past the hotel and restroom facilities, across a bike/walking path and down another walking trail. For the condition it is in the price should be one fourth what it was. I wish I could attach photos to show the neglect and tattered condition of everything even the towels were stained and torn.
- 4/5
Rooms are a bit small and outdated but everything else was great!
- 4.5/5
Outside space is fantastic
- 5/5
A lot . Overall the food was great and I had a great time .
- 4/5
Location! Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff was very kind and helpful.
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 2/5
Bathroom could have been more cleaner. Hotel rooms are dated. Had to take the stairs 1 level up without any help. My refrigerator stopped working and the replacement was too big to fit in its place so it was onscreen outside near the bed l. Room was dark and gloomy no sunlight able to come in because it was facing another building.
- 5/5
The property is nice and centrally located, but could use a refresh.
- 5/5
I having been going to this hotel for the last 10 years. The customer service is fantastic and the location is excellent! My family grew up over the years, swimming in the pool and eventually sharing a drink with us. There has been a recent renovation to the outdoor bar area, and it’s a great place to take a break from the sun and have a drink and lunch!! Can’t wait to go again.
- 4/5
A little older but still good
- 4/5
There was an edm music fest and our pool wasn’t available to us for 4 out of the 7 days. We were allowed to use pool next door which was fine
- 2.5/5
Passable
- 4/5
Poolside fills up quickly. Its lame they make you pay for beach chairs.
- 3/5
Pleasant
- 5/5
Perfect location. Fun vibes
- 3.5/5
Great decor, great location, great price Too busy , suitcases everywhere in lobby , not able to get chairs around the pool, too many people
- 1/5
The hotel location is in the heart of Collins Ave, South Beach where all the high end restaurants, bars and hotels are located. Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road is just 10-20 min walk with the beach right on the doorstep of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and despite the Miami Music Week pool parties I managed to get some quality sleep. Very poor facilities with an outdated room, small shower and very little space to put your clothes. Unfortunately did not get to the pool as it was taken over by the spring breakers during my stay. For the price point this hotel is extortionate for the quality and standard you are getting but the cost is for staying in one of the best locations in South Beach.
- 3.5/5

They were supposed to give us breakfast vouchers . When asked they said no booking is not with breakfast . And after all that drama they said 50 dollar credit for each day. And the last day while checking out they said u should have given the vouchers. Spent 5000 dollars and stayed for 6 days in a small tiny room. And the reception staff was clearly not helpful and treats guests differently from greeting to helping. And I am never going back here again would rather go to an air bnb. Staff is rude and clueless and tries to blame the other staff for not giving vouchers and extremely racist and rude ti say the least

Good service, beautiful pool area, great food. However did did not receive turndown service one day out of 3 night stay despite asking.
- 5/5
We got outstanding hospitality at this hotel. I highly recommend!
- 4/5
Pool, parties, and first floor access is nice for easily going in and out. Beach location is excellent. Grateful for free tickets to the parties--this was a big sell to me. I couldn't find/use the gym. The showers are interesting, probably look like they need curtains to prevent water going everywhere.

The staff is phenomenal, from the front desk to the staff on the beach, but the rooms are very outdated. The closet has a musty curtain instead of a sliding door and the washroom door looks like it’s from the 70s. The room always smells musty
- 5/5
Loved our stay in Miami Beach. Hotel has a great pool and beach access. Great location for shopping and dining!
- 3/5
Great staff.
- 4/5
Other than bad weather it was great

Where do I start. On arrival to the hotel, we were met by the valet guys, Ive had previous issues on mulitple occasions where valet guys damage my car. For this reason I will never let any valet worker drive nay of my cars. I was met with resistance when telling them I will be 5mins to drop off my bags and I will move it. I parked the car where they requested but was laugh at for not trusting them. When entering the hotel, it was very busy and noisy in reception, although the décor was very nice and also very clean. Our room was on the third floor, but the main lift was out of action. We had to walk up a flight of stairs, down a long tired looking corridor with a strong smell of marijuana (dont forget this is a family hotel!) then up a very tired lift where it took us a while to find our room due to a very odd numbering system which makes no sense. Our room was clean and tidy but nothing special. We paid extra for a garden view. This was a window facing a building, but apparently because there were some plants in view, its a garden food. Go figure!? I feel the same window on the ground floor may look much nicer. Our room had very old single glazing windows which were very hard to operate and poor for sound proofing. The poor/bar area (which is the entirety of the outdoor area) was booked out for a private party and we were denied access to outdoors, this was a noisy party and there was no prior warning the amenities were unavailable TEXT LIMIT MET

The location is great. close to great coffee shops and restaurants and right on the beach. It is recently updated and the restaurant is great. They have complementary coffee and happy hour drinks. The pool is way too busy. They play very loud music at the pool so it is not very relaxing. You struggle to find a sun lounger. It is very busy and on both nights we had noisy people int he room next to us.

Clean room and helpful staff and beach was nice! The bartender who made my morning green drink and tea was awesome
- 3/5
The hotel was good, there was a problem with lobby elevator the whole time. Overall a good experience
- 2.5/5
The staff. Tired. Noisy but perhaps that’s the norm
- 4/5
Smallish rooms but very clean and fabulous outdoor amenities including pool and restaurant bar.
- 5/5
Close to Lincoln road and shops and restaurants and coffee
- 3/5
Hotel could use some updates. Stayed at a Kimpton in Tokyo and the service and quality was outstanding. Definitely not the same experience in Miami
- 2/5
very old rooms
- 4/5
Beach was great. Pool was loud. Loud construction at the pool. (Are they building another structure? More rooms? Don't know.) Didn't seem to bother most people, but was definitely not what I had in mind when I think about relaxing by the pool! That being said, the beach was perfect. Always beach chairs available. Food service took a while, but it was just one hard working guy doing it all!
- 5/5
staff and amenities are great and located next to the beautiful beach!
- 3/5
The rooms for the price were ridiculous, honestly. The rooms are outdated, and the paint and tile work in the bathrooms look really bad. The amenities spaces look great. However, not worth the cost that was spent for the quality of the actual rooms. I was disappointed. The accessible unit bathroom mirror was in deplorable conditions.
- 5/5
The staff was attentive, polite & professional. The food was delicious, the room was clean, and the location was great! I would stay there again when visiting Miami.
- 4/5
Was nice.
- 1/5
We have talked to Expedia agents twice now for a refund. Both times were told all is okay and will send emails. Not a single email was sent by you. We also confirmed with the hotel that refund has sent to Expedia. Please update us on the refund. Thanks.
- 1/5
What a ripoff for $800 a day rundown room furniture, terrible pillows, no occasional chairs in the room to relax, just one desk chair. Old dirty windows with mold. Smallest bathroom of any hotel room and our room was supposed to be premium and most expensive room this run down hotel has and on top of that they charge resort fee, this was worse than MOTEL 6, what audacity to Call it a resort. I even talked to the manager she did listen attentively to all the issues mentioned above but there was no apology or reimbursement of any kind of all the discomfort and inconvenience.
- 5/5
I originally booked a room at the Kenmore and had to switch because the hotel was not clean. The Surfcomber was a complete 180. Wonderful staff, beautiful lobby, gorgeous pool, amazing restaurants (both outside and inside)! Absolutely perfect location! I can’t wait to stay again. Thank you Surfcomber!!!
- 2/5
Rooms are extremely small/outdated and it’s an old outdated building. Even the bathroom, no counter space to put your makeup bag. No coffee maker in the room, you have to request one which was an inconvenience. Give it 2 stars. Can easily tell by the hallway that it’s a very old building. Also valet took over 30 minutes to 1 hour to wait for our car. Save yourself money and valet else where the car. We waited almost an hour several times. Staff was super nice and friendly except for the issue with valet and getting the car. We were not the only ones waiting, there were 4 other guest waiting for their car. Food was excellent - give that a 5 star - ate several times at the hotel, it didn’t disappoint. Outdoor ambiance was neat and next to board walk/beach. They do have a cute courtyard. Just wished their rooms were bigger so not sure I would stay here for no more than a day if I needed a place to stay.
- 4/5
Comfortable and a solid location.
- 1/5
Nothing really went well with this property - the elevator was broken. Room was extremely dirty. Hallways were dirty. They assigned us to a room where the window was overlooking to another wall. We had to reach out to expedia and check out after our first night.
- 3/5
It was okay, nothing terrible but nothing to note as memorable. For the price I would have expected more, gym under Reno, elevators under Reno…sound proofing not ideal
- 5/5
Friendliness and smiles of all personnel
- 3/5
A bit run down. Needs a refresh and cut the constant thumping club music in the lobby. Nobody wants to hear that at 7:00 AM!
- 5/5
The hotel is very much a boutique property. I have been coming here for years. It’s in a great location and it never disappoints.
- 3/5
Friendly staff, but the property is old and dated.
- 5/5
Perfect location, helpful staff
- 1/5
Poor service, noisy rooms, uncomfortable beds. I had to pay the resort fee twice, once with Expedia and again when I left the resort.
- 4/5
The room was clean but smaller than expected. The hotel is lovely but was under construction so no gym. I liked the proximity to the beach.
- 3/5
The air freshener in the lobby is waaay too strong and overpowering. If you have allergies or asthma it is difficult to endure. Air conditioner is very loud when it kicks on at night. The doors slam loud so you other dorrs slamming shut late at night and early in the morning. They have construction next door and if you use the pool, you listen to the drilling and construction sounds. The pool water gets really warm. The beach is nice and tge beach chairs are more comfortable than at the pool. The hotel has a good location.
- 4/5
Great hotel, great location, staff was very nice. Our only criticism - we asked twice for housekeeping to be sent to our room. We were gone for six hours and they never showed up.
- 5/5
great beach!
- 5/5
beach access was so perfect
- 4/5
Nice staff! Food was good at the outdoor bar area. Loved the sparkling pool and easy beach access. Be careful on the steps. Cool looking restaurant and bar off lobby. Didn’t have time to try but very fun and casual looking.
- 5/5
Overall great!!
- 5/5
Staff, particularly Jameisha at the front desk. It was my birthday and she made me feel like a queen my entire stay. And the pool waiters were great. Can’t say more good things about The Kimpton Surfcomber!
- 4/5
The happy hour was especially nice in the lobby each day, as was the morning coffee. The beach was lovely, although service on the beach was very slow. Friendly service all around. Would stay here again
- 2/5
Room
- 4/5
The hotel was great. The staff is going to, however, for some construction going on with the pool the entire time you were there it was under agreement at the gym. I just wish somebody would’ve taught us that before we end we would’ve made different arrangements.
- 5/5
This hotel is advertised as pet friendly, but it is not, it is pet loving. I was so impressed that this is my first "good" review for a hotel. I strongly recommend it.
- 3/5
Rooms need an updated. carpets are looking work and in need of a deep cleaning. Otherwise, pool area was great, staff was always helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to assist with any questions. Shoutout to Felice who checked us in after a long day of travel before a holiday.
- 5/5
Hotel was perfect! Staff were great, rooms were clean, centrally located and right in the beach!
- 5/5
Nice property with great beach access and pool. The soft goods in the rooms were a little beat up and stained. The room was a little small and the beds slightly uncomfortable. The staff was great and the vibes immaculate
- 1/5
Active construction with no heads up. We paid for a room with a terrace and it was full of mosquitos so we couldn’t even use it. Very disappointed
- 4/5
Staff was very accommodating, the pool was nice, and the beach chairs very comfortable.
- 2/5
So many things were not up to scratch on our trip to Kimpton we left a day early. If your experience of Kimpton in the UK is their top class, amazing hotels in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London …. you WILL NOT get that experience here. Firstly, location is fantastic in Miami Beach and the valet parking guys do a brilliant job so if that is your priority, go for it. However, room was old and tired, no view despite paying extra for a garden room, $30 extra for an umbrella despite paying mega $ in resort fees every day on top of the room rate, flimsy plastic glasses at the much vaunted free 4pm happy hour (I’ve been given better glasses at the dentist to wash out with), significant renovations going on in the pool area with no prior warning (portaloos and workmen everywhere) DEFEANING music volume at the pool (we are not shrinking violets but you could still hear it 400 yards away on Miami Beach) … could go on and on … staff were great (mostly) in trying to sort out or concerns, without their interventions and kind words, not sure we’d have stayed the 3 nights we ended up sticking it out for … not the experience we had expected from Kimpton (we stayed in 4 hotels on our USA trip and this one was by a distance the worst)
- 3/5
We liked the over stay. The staff was very friendly and location is excellent. The hotel needs renovations especially the bathroom. The saving grace is the location
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great location, nice pool and patio.
- 4/5
The staff were extremely friendly and the room was really nice. The pool area was beautiful and sqt right on the beautiful beach. I would say the only drawback was I received an extra charge when we showed up to the hotel, $600 and I wasn't sure why. Also, they provided beach chairs and towels which was great but you pay for the umbrella daily. Overall though a great location!
- 4/5
Room was good and all staff was great.
- 1/5
I've stayed here 3-4 previous times. Great location, nice bar. This time the experience was not good on 3+ accounts: The gym was closed and under renovation. They do have a reciprocal use of a gym about 10m walk, unfortunately it was in the high 40's and super windy. There is no coffee machine in the room. They did offer to bring one, the lobby coffee is a nice touch but not available until 7am. They were replacing hallway carpet, which required to walk around the property outside and back into the lobby. Finally, they have no heat. Not normally required in Miami, but it was in the 40's and 50's. Turning on the heat actually lowered the room temperature. Gonna take a break on this place for a while.
- 4/5
Room was spacious and the ambiance was good. I just unfortunately was close to the restaurant inside so all the smells from the food and public bathroom lingered through.
- 5/5
Great clean and nice
- 5/5
Great staff and relaxed vibe
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice and clean. The hotel had from 5 to 7 happy hour with a lot of cocktails to choose from. Also, a lot of restaurants close by.. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Miami Beach.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel great beach access and surrounding area
- 4/5
The price was right, which keeps the review rating right, but the hotel is under various sorts of construction. It would have been nice if i was notified by the hotel when i booked the stay. It may had informed my decision to find an alternative property. Areas under construction include the lobby main elevator and pool side cabanas. It ended up being very loud on Thursday & Friday poolside.
- 5/5
Really great beachfront property with friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed the pool, beach, and daily happy hour!
- 5/5
The Hotel was in a superb location, within walking distance of Many hotspots and Ocean Drive. Clean with good amenities and an excellent vibe around the pool. Great access to the beach with lots of beds and towels provided the whole time. Great touch with the complimentary morning coffee and evening glass of wine.
- 2/5
Location great. Restaurant and Bar Staff were fantastic - could give the Front Desk team some training!
- 3/5
The restaurant and staff are excellent, however the room is outdated and small -- dirty water came out of the shower, the carpet is not cleaned, the sink is leaking, and there was a lot of construction noise.
- 5/5
Room was lovely, on beach, and walkable to shops and restaurants. Pool also outstanding!!
- 1/5
Staff very friendly and accommodating
- 3/5
I think they don't have good control over reservations because they charged us for the breakfasts we paid for with our reservation and since check in they didn't want to make us believe that it wasn't included but I could verify that I did pay for that.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing
- 5/5
staff are nice and helpful
- 5/5
N/A
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
The rooms are very outdated . There are cracks in the walls in the bathroom . The air vent is leaking with condensations .
- 5/5
Small quaint, old-fashioned style looking Miami beachfront resort that has been refurbished. It easy walking distance to a lot of shopping and eating. We will definitely be back!
- 4/5
Accommodations are adequate for the price point. The rooms are decently appointed some minor deferments, but all n all pretty fair.! The corridors and elevators could use upgrading, but that’s pretty typical for a Miami Beach property of this age
- 1/5
This hotel did not meet up to my normal Kimpton standards. The valet circle out front was laughable, backed up down block and when we finally worked our way up, the valet attendant yelled to us from the door that it was raining and we should just leave the car. Then they wouldn’t take my Tesla anyway bc they didn’t want to drive it in valet mode like every other place on the planet. I wound up parking at a general lot for only $20 for 24 hours, which was as a much better deal anyway. No baggage help offered. Check-in was fine, but the rooms are shabby and need an update. The restaurant wait staff were not what I would call motivated humans. I had to ask for coffee numerous times at breakfast and when we told the waiter the coffee was cold he was annoyed. DJ at the pool and multiple birthday parties in the cabanas. If we could do it over we would have stayed at the Ritz for just a bit more.
- 4/5
They have a nice pool and the staff is very friendly
- 5/5
Beach Views, beautiful property
- 4/5
Easy beach access
- 5/5
Great location and easy access to the beach
- 5/5
Immediately upon walking into the Kimpton Surfcomber hotel, we were greeted enthusiastically by the friendly staff. Our room was small but clean. The pool area was nicely equipped although the chairs were kind of packed in like sardines. Loved the complimentary chairs on the beach. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Miami Beach.
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Hotel staff was great! And our rooms, and the outdoor spaces were really nice! The lobby decor needs an upgrade as the seating areas were dated and very low snd unco
- 5/5
I loved the pool area and the way they took you to your chair and set it up. The resort was beautiful. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. On the other hand, the beds are horrible!
- 3/5
Cleaning people never showed up for 3 days that we were there. AC in the room leaked from above. Overpriced for what you’re getting. Staff was nice and location was perfect.
- 5/5
Don't miss out on the afternoon hors d'oevres and wine/local beer sampling either. The pool was clean and if you forget your sun lotion they have a complimentary Sun Bum lotion station at the pool area. Beach is steps away from the pool. Will be staying at the Kimpton Surfcomber on our next stay in Miami! Also a great hotel to stay at if you are embarking on a cruise (as we had). Thank you to Maxena and the rest of the staff for their smiles and service!
- 4/5
👍
- 5/5
Everytime i come to Miami i stay here they have the best staff
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Thank you!
- 3/5
The surfcomber is looking a little tired. No onsite gym and ice machine was out of action (both were last year as well). Room was dated - and was the only spot where we were bitten the whole holiday.
- 3/5
Terrible first floor room view.
- 2/5
This property ended up having many issues while we were there. Power went out, restaurant flooded, terrible alarm in the middle of the night. Valet was complicated. Staff was confused at times. Rooms are pretty old. Won’t be staying there again.
- 1/5
Not Satisfy, the room was not what we were expecting,a big roach inside the room and at the time of getting the bill and checking it at our house $711.00 dollars were an extra charge in our bill for package rate also a fee of $335.11 were charged in our bill for resort fee . I was told that was included on my reservation
- 4/5
I’d stay again . I enjoyed it !
- 5/5
Na
- 5/5
Everything was great. Everyone was very hospitable. The only issue was the girl by the pool didn’t know anything. I’m not sure if it was her first day working or not, but she didn’t know where to get towels or why there were no towels or how to clear the beds off to make rooms for other people to lay by the pool here But besides that was the only issue I had great hotel great food great service
- 5/5
Nothing but good things to say:) most well equipped and best located and high quality spots for this street!
- 4/5
We didn’t get the 2 bedroom we booked
- 4/5
great location
- 5/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
Loved the lobby and pool are, beautiful hotel!!
- 5/5
Every thing was great
- 5/5
Friendly staff and great amenities.
- 3/5
This is not a family property. The rooms are very small, the elevator is smaller. The bathrooms are falling apart, and dirty. You can hear everything through the walls even the outside traffic. The pool was dirty, the water temp was HOT, never a cool off. The pools temperature never changed besides being hot and dirty. You’ve great common areas. Great pool view, beautiful hotel lobby. The decor, amenities and appearances sold this hotel to me. Keep in mind their resort fee plus a $600 deposit for each room.
- 5/5
Great hotel, booked one close down the strip which was less expensive for the first night then moved to this hotel as realised it was well worth the upgrade having visited.
- 2/5
Room was very noisy because of the engine(which I dont know) working outside. At first day waters were off
- 4/5
Was dirty! The washroom was not clean and they wouldn’t refill and clean ontime. We had to call the reception every time.
- 5/5
The Surfcomber beautiful pool and easy beach access while be centrally located within walking distance of many amazing dining and shopping options made it a perfect getaway.
- 4/5
One particular staff member was very rude at the reception desk.
- 5/5
We went to Miami to celebrate my daughter's HS graduation. The hotel was perfect! The decor, pool area w/live DJ, waiter staff, and beach a few feet away made us feel like we were on a resort in the carribean islands! Not to mention the plethora of restaurants & shops i the area. We decided against renting a car & never needed to rent a cab. Everything was walking distance away. But if you do venture out the trolleys, buses & cabs are right there.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent during the check in process. Pool area is a fabulous oasis.
- 5/5
Amazing location , staff wasn't friendly .
- 3/5
There’s a public parking on 16th and Collins it’s much cheaper than paying $55 valet at the hotel. The parking is safe we parked there all week and it’s safe to leave the car overnight.
- 3/5
Showers were rusty and dated, location was amazing.
- 4/5
Beautiful resort! We loved our stay at this hotel. The pool was lovely and warm. Great for swimming. The staff was so nice and accommodating. The food at the restaurants was delicious, drinks were great, overall it was an amazing experience. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the housekeeping. We had plenty of time out of our room when they could have come to clean and did not. We had to request that they come each time for them to come take out trash, vacuum sand, give us fresh towels, etc. On the last day/night we were there they did not clean our room at all. I feel like they need to do better in this area. When we did have our room cleaned they did a good job, but I shouldn't have to ask in order for it to get done.

The pool was amazing!

The beach wasn’t as nice, they charge for third person chair and umbrella. Ocean water full of seaweed

Property is beautifully kept. Great location right on the beach. Smaller property means you are never fighting for a spot at the pool or chairs at the beach. Staff are all amazing!

Property was great but they charge you daily versus all upfront and had weird surcharges

Definitely worst Kimpton have stayed. Room had a half used bottle water on the table when I got in. Small room, poor condition.

We always enjoy our time here. I wish the bathroom was not midget sized. Other than that it is a great place to stay.

Very lovely property with friendly conscientious staff and a really nice vacation vibe

We just had an excellent girls weekend here. So central, beautifully cared for with gorgeous gardens, easy access to beach, (free) bikes and daily yoga class. (One instructor with music and healing oils was particularly good). The Concierge had terrific restaurant suggestions. We loved the free coffee and wine hour every day. Other hotels should take note! Left feeling wonderful.

Love the bikes and all staff we encountered were friendly.

Dropped in for breakfast, ended up changing hotels to stay here. On the beach, has a great beach-club style pool, and fantastic staff. Really turned our trip around into a true vacation. Would absolutely come back.

Great place to stay.

Choose this hotel due to its convenience to the Miami Convention Center. Very nice property and would stay at again.

Loved the stay here! The service is amazing and the food is also really good if you’re ordering from their restaurant. Would highly recommend.

We will recommend this hotel to others!

It was a busy time in South Beach and we knew we’d be paying a lot for a premium garden view room, nothing fancy but suited our needs, clean and with a comfortable bed. Enjoyed the complimentary bikes each morning, the coffee, afternoon happy hour and super friendly staff! Pool though beautiful and pristine was too busy to get a lounger without an hour wait.

Because I booked with Expedia, they wouldn’t allow us to do late check-out. Which, I get policy, but we are staying for one night and needed an extra hour. Super inconvenient and had I known I would’ve chosen to book thru their website. When we got to room the carpet in the room was wet. Like soaking. Obviously it had been cleaned but who wants to walk on squishy carpet. Our socks were wet and we had to put towels down to walk ourselves right down to the front desk. We were given a room on the floor below and the same thing was happening there. But they were more damp than soaking and we are exhausted. $150 in room service later…this will be the last time the Surfcomber gets me for $500 a night. Such a shame. This place was once so great. The Social Club is fabulous. The staff and servers are great. Juan at the front desk is a gem. Stay somewhere else…lots of other options in Miami.

Great place to stay, nice pool, beach in back of hotel. All of the staff were so kind and helpful.

Beautiful place to stay if you are looking to enjoy Miami beach and restaurant during your stay

i loved it

Food at the hotel was good but pricey. Service was great at hotel restaurant and pool but not at beach (understaffed). Not many kids staying and no kid considerations (no toys at pool or in lounge, no stool in bathroom and the kids menu was pathetic. I really wanted to like it but I don't think we will stay there again, certainly not as a family, maybe if I went with girlfriends.

We stayed here for our babymoon during the week and it was great how accommodating they were throughout the week. The staff was kind and the property was exactly what we were looking for, relaxing and unique. The rooms were smaller and the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest it could have been, but we were barely in there so it wasn’t too important to us! The air conditioning in the room was the one thing that took days to get our room to a comfortable temperature. By the time we left, it finally was at the temperature we set it to when we arrived. Overall, great stay with quality amenities and location.

Cleaning personal was marching into our room without knocking multiple times, staff was not attentive (when I asked a girl serving towels by the pool where could I rinse my feet from sand after spending morning at the beach she said "honey, how would I know?"). By 9 am there were no lounge chairs available by the pool. Overall not what I expected for the price and location - and I stayed in multiple IHG group hotels before - would stay at different hotel next time.

We had no idea it was Ultra Weekend, and the city was absolutely packed, but Juan worked his magic and was able to accommodate an early check-in for us. Not only that, but he also provided us with waters and made sure we felt truly taken care of. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail rival even the service we’ve experienced at high-end hotels like the Ritz-Carlton. Juan, you set the bar incredibly high! We sincerely hope your outstanding service gets the recognition it deserves. Thank you for making our stay exceptional we will definitely be back!

The hotel has a beautiful lobby and restaurant and pool area. The rooms are small and outdated but not terrible. As a family I might not stay here because there are nicer, roomier places. But for this girls trip it was great. Location is perfect, close to plenty of restaurants and beachfront. It was at 17th and Collins so just a few blocks north of a busier area so it was nice to be cover but not on top of the noisier area.

The woman working at the front desk was top notch- took hospitality to the next level. She went out of her way to help and was able to get me into a room early when I arrived. I will be back!

Excellent boutique hotel right in the middle of everything! Room was very clean. Front Desk staff very attentive and helpful. Restaurant has a great breakfast. Hotel has nice little touches like complimentary water and coffee stations. Even saw a doggie check in area as they are pet friendly!

Hotel next door being redeveloped so continuous noise during the day. Poor cleaning service, rooms not cleaned until 4pm everyday

Collins And Ocean boulevards are jammed with hotels and noisy. This hotel is just one block west - much quieter. Has a great Beignet place for the mornings and a lovely little cuban restaurant on the corner. Plus an excellent clean laundry a few yards away. Nice rooftop pool and bars

The stay was pleasant but over priced. Location is great and all in all I would stay here again. Do not expect to be overly impressed.

Excellent stay. Great hotel and very helpful staff particularly at check in on reception

The Kimpton Surfcomber was a new discovery for us. One of the best hotels in South Beach with a good variety of restaurants and food morning, noon and night. Hardworking team looked after us well with personality and smiles.
- 1/5
Staff ambivalent, best were the valet parking team. With so many hotel choices available this one really needs to up its game. It’s part of a huge chain and desperately requires refurbishing. Interestingly we were not asked at check out whether we enjoyed our stay, it’s almost as if they knew how shockingly bad the room was.
- 4/5
I liked the close proximity to all the action and beach. I like the room and the amenities including coffee in the lobby. I don’t like that extra resort fee. It is too much. I May consider staying elsewhere next time.

The property did not meet the level of cleanliness expected based on the listing. One of the main reasons for choosing the hotel was the pool, but the pool was closed to all guests after 4pm on a Saturday, there was no prior notice at the time of booking nor when I checked in. Lastly, we had reserved a poolside cabana and there was inadequate staffing. We had a minimum spend, there was not enough staff to accommodate the needs at the pool and we were completely neglected. Also, the food service was cut even shorter than the pool, no food past 2pm. Everything I chose the hotel for was completely the opposite of what I received.

My wife really enjoyed the free Yoga - especially the sessions run by Daniella and Giovanni

Cockroaches, property under construction but wasn’t disclosed at time of booking or prior to stay, rooms were small, paid extra for view but got nothing, no fresh air
