Stayed here with a friend and was very spacious for 2 people.

Room was clean and large with useful kitchen area. Staff friendly and breakfast selection small but sufficient. Hotel lent out beach towels and chairs free of charge, really useful. Beach about ten minutes walk away, which is the main advantage of the hotel ie its location. Building needs much renovation

The staff was amazing. Very nice and accommodating crew. One staff member even walked to the store and got us ice. The property is old and not up to me or my friends standards. The AC worked very well, everything else was bad. The tvs didn’t work and there’s no resort. The deposit is only $100 which is good for Miami.

Breakfast consisted of Twinkies, yogurt, juice boxes and coffee. The property was run down. Our shower had no cold water and the bathroom needed serious renovation. Beds were clean and staff were helpful. Good location.

Old and dirty, carpet nasty and buckling in the room, paint peeling, coffee stains from being splashed onto the walls, not even sure if housekeeping vacuumed. There was a hotel across the street that had a pool and was much nicer for $10 more, save your money. The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. But that's it.

Saul Were wonderful! They made my first time in Miami / South Beach so amazing and completely comfortable. If you’re looking to be a prime location for a great deal this is really your spot.

Location is good. But, no parking. Have to park on the street or at Municipal parking lot nearby. Room isn't clean and bathroom is horrible.

Great location just by South Beach. We stayed twice during the same trip. The first floor room was fine. The second floor room was larger and had a kitchen sink etc. Go for the 2nd floor (twin Queen beds). Overnight parking available 2 mins away on 13st. ($20 per night). Street parking was very expensive at $20/hr! Nearby 11th st. had Moms pizza for my son, Cuban cafe for me., as well as a micro-brewery. Great!

The guy that runs the hotel is so nice it made me ignore the condition of the hotel. The room was very clean and the linens were exceptional… for the money and location, I would definitely recommend. Great experience!!

Place was disgusting! Windows are outdated and you can hear everything. The toilet is the same on the have in public schools. The was cigarette burns all in the rug. Place was horrible only thing that’s good is the location

For a quick stay in South Beach this place will do. It is near the beach and fine dining restaurants. However prepare to spend on parking at a nearby parking garage. The room could use an upgrade and the carpet needs to be removed and burned down.

Last minute room availability on Thanksgiving & location I actually loved the historic art deco charm,’.. The air conditioner however smelled funny while running, next time I’ll bring an air sanitizer

The breakfast was stale and to go We have got excellent stays in Hilton and IHG hotels for less than $200 and this hotel charge was $311 it was the complete loss We need a refund to compensate our loss

The hotel itself is basic but that’s reflected in the price. The staff are amazing.. honestly I was welcomed like an old friend, despite never staying at this hotel before. I stayed in a room with a kitchenette which was nice as it enabled me to cook my own food and not pay the expensive food prices. Also there is ‘no resort’ fee to stay at this hotel. The hotel is on Collins avenue, meaning you are one block away from the beach and ocean drive. The only negative I has was the noise from outside which can be clearly heard in the room. This includes the constant humming of aircon units (not the one in my room), garage trucks and car alarms. This is reflected in my overall rating

The place was very dirty. The shower did not work properly, didn’t drain and was very dirty. The ac didn’t work very good and shot water everywhere. The complementary breakfast was a joke. Just Debby cakes and random junk in a bowl. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

AC worked great, nice and quiet. Staff very nice, helpful and professional. Comfy bed with nice bedding. Awesome water pressure and shower head. Some toiletries provided. Secure building requiring code to enter. Beach towels available upon request. The location was amazing, just a short walk about a walk to the beach. Vanilla creamer singles were available. Not so good: Expected older building, but it was rougher than I expected. Breakfast was some bananas and a basket with packaged items like granola bars, fruit cups, yogurt, donuts. They were room temperature and a bit melty. There were juices too that were cold. Overall we were not expecting much, but we still were not impressed. Would we stay here again? Yes.

Hotel is a little old and needs renovation but location is very convenient and accessible to shopping, beach and near the cruise ports. Staff are great especially Ricky.

Overall, this is a quiet place to rest your head. It was clean, but felt very old/dated. The carpeting in our rooms was visibly older and although it appeared as clean as it could be, it looked like it was in desperate need of being replaced. A fresh coat of paint and new carpeting could make this room feel a lot better. In general, I wish I had spent a little more for a nicer room. For a cheap overnight stay on a budget, it was fine. Staff there was very friendly and welcoming though. Centrally located near south beach and restaurants.

Great stay! Great price! Super location! And fabulous service!! Look, ya get what ya pay for & to each their own, but this hotel isn’t THAT bad!! Yes, the building is old. ALL the hotels in this area are!! It’s part of the charm! The outstanding character and hospitality in this facility is EPIC! They have everything you need! The sheets and towels were clean, the bed was a lil firm (some ppl like that) the a/c worked great, they provide a few dishes to eat with, the coffee was excellent & the setup for breakfast was sufficient. Walgreens is just on the corner, the beach is a block away, clubs and restaurants within walking distance and the manager Ricky, is OUTSTANDING!!❤️ We stayed 7 days and I can’t wait to visit again! (Thank u for everything!)

There where roaches when we were lookong for a phone plug saw little baby roaches it was so discusting feom that aspect other than that the bathroom was ok and shower had hot and cold water.

I enjoyed my stay here. Everything was a walkable distance. They provided beach towels for free too which I think is really cool. House keeping was amazing, I was by myself and felt safe enough to walk around at late hours.

The property manager was racist and rude, he hurled racist remarks at me while leaving the property. The property is very old and there is no waiting area or lobby where you can wait. Extremely disappointed with my stay

I slept nicely until the morning when the dumpster made the most horrible rumble outside, not the hotels fault. The price for the location, convenience and cleanliness is well worth it considering the season. Ricky was amazing, the staff is very friendly. It felt like visiting family.

Was expecting more

I only needed this room for one night before my cruise and it was exactly what I needed. Its definitely an older hotel/old apartment building but it was clean and the staff was amazing. All of the venues and restaurants I could have possibly wanted to go to were so close and there was a CVS on the corner. I would stay here again.

All the people from the hotel who came to inspect the area when I told them about the broken safe (the fellow at the main desk and the handyman who just placed the safe on the floor) said it was unsafe; however, the property owner's first reaction, when hearing of the problem from Panama City, quipped, "Is it safe to speak?" Then he tried to weasel his way out of the problem, claiming the hotel was "not responsible." These people are unprofessional. Beware.

The city decided to close all of the parking garages for spring break. No parking means I could not stay there and still paid for the night. Inconvenient is the word!!

My stay was amazing! I went with a couple friends for a birthday. And we had the best time in South Beach, the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach! And this hotel is in the middle of everything, I definitely will try and book this hotel again!!

Average stay, but prime location to boardwalk and beach. Would recommend if you are looking for a clean, cost effective stay with low amenities.

The manager is very nice, thoughtful and considerable. When I told him that we might not be able to have breakfast the following morning which starts at 8am, he immediately agreed to let us grab our breakfast that night. Th hotel's check-out time is 11am and we need to store our luggages until 3pm. He then allowed us to keep our room key until the time we came back.

Nice quiet location just a block or so from the beach and Espanola Street restaurants. Reasonably priced. Keep in mind these Art Deco District hotels are near 100 years old, so expect some wear and nostalgic features. It was a nice comfortable stay, and we would stay here again.

Room was nice and very comfortable. Location was very walkable and close to where I needed to be. Lots of places to eat close by as well. It's an older building but worked very well for me. I'll look to stay again when in Miami beach

I’m stay was excellent

We wanted somewhere close to the beach for a good price in Miami. Ricky was the best at front desk he was Very helpful and answered all questions we had about the hotel and surrounding area. I will definitely stay at Island house again.

For the price paid it couldn't have been better! Rick at the front desk was very knowledgeable and accommodating and a great guy overall!

Winding down from an 8 day cruise

Beware ! This hotel lists rooms that are unavailable and will charge you and refuse refund even the they didn't have the listing ! also when I walked in you could smell mold and the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in 30 years .shame on hotels.com for listing a room that isn’t available and refusing to help me get my Money back !

Fantastic location near south beach and lots of food and entertainment venues

Centrally located, sitting right between the beach strip and the shops/restaurants/party street. Property has 2 floors, no lobby or lounge, but room was a spacious studio with 3 beds (2 queens 1 twin).

For this location to be right in the heart of every I found it very affordable, staff where very helpful a sweet . My room was very spacious an was impressed by judging the outer building. Would definitely book again in the future. Thanks for my stay .

Upon arrival there was no power, the place smelt horrible and looked dirty and another customer who was waiting to speak to manager for a refund let us know there were fleas and bed bugs- we did not stay and have not got a refund yet- absolutely horrible

The day time office manager was very kind. However, in the morning, the free coffee and breakfast was not available until 8:00, well after we left for the airport. It was milk, juice boxes, coffee, instant oatmeal, small boxes of cereal, and packaged pastries (saw the morning of checking in).

Had to quickly rebook a hotel last minute before a cruise! Booking was fast and simple! Staff were great with handling our late check in. Great proximity to what we did in south beach! I would stay here again.

Breakfast there doesn't count as breakfast. It's more like a grab and go kind of deal with a couple of boxes at room temperature each with small cereal boxes, granola bars and yogurt. No place to sit down as this offered at the front desk which is already very small area.

Humble real people

Island House is a small independent hotel in South Beach located on the A1A. Our room (#4) was plain, but comfortable. Ours included a decent fridge and to our surprise, a "rain-style" shower head. There is no ice machine but ice was available from the office. English is spoken, but Spanish seems to be preferred.

Very cheap hotel for the price we were charged, smell of dampness the moment you walk in, electric cables running up all the walls, they included breakfast in the price, but they don’t have a dining room or communal room, they pile some wrapped cakes on a table and hot coffee, and you take it and eat in your room standing up.

Property was nice and staff was very welcoming, the area is loaded with things to do and to eat, as well as a 3 minute walk from the beach which was great !

No parking on or really around property. Was told to park in public parking lot 2 blocks away sadly when I tried it was full. So after driving around for 30 minutes I found parking. Ac was not big enough for room size and shape. Had a ceiling fan that did not work when notified front desk they said nothing could be done. Woke up in the morning to catch the sunrise over the beach only to find a what appeared to be a homeless man with 1 shoe and completely high out of his mind laying in front of my door. Went to tell front desk but no one was there. The good super close to beach and a plethora of restaurants. All the staff we had interaction with where extremely pleasant maybe not helpful but extremely pleasant about it.

In short, AC blew in the middle of the night. I was on the first floor & heard every loud car, screaming people. The Cable was not working for anyone. Bulb was blown. I went to the desk several times & everyone that worked there told me I had to wait for the manager @ 9am. I'm pretty sure this was my worst night of sleep ever.

While rooms are clean the place is dated and looks a bit sad. The breakfast that’s included in the price I could have bought at a convenience store. Place is dull and unwelcoming.

American Airlines diverted our flight because of weather… so unfortunately we were stuck in Miami in spring break… I never would have paid so much for this room. But the staff was very helpful and the bed was very clean and very comfortable

Room was very clean and affordable- but it is definitely on party central and the windows don’t do much to keep the sound of the partiers, sirens, etc out- which go on all night. No complaints about the room or service, just not the best location for a ‘relaxing’ stay.

The place was very old And dirty the beds are not clean not safe for sleep the beds are not in good shape the they're very old and almost break they've been shaking I would not recommend no one to stay there Soon as I arrived there and saw the place in rooms I get headache instantly .I did find Another hotel hopefully after one hour to stay .If you planning to go on vacation make sure you look very careful where you gonna book the place The pictures are showing completely different when you Booking. It is a lot disappointment in that place. Thanks.

Avoid at all cost. The bed and location were the only decent thing. We slept with the dresser pushed in front of the door. Smelly, dirty and rundown.

The owner was super nice and upgraded our room to the studio with a kitchenette for free. The beach towels were clean and readily available and there were a bunch of beach toys we loved playing with. The location is close to the beach and very central and we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast is plentiful, there are packaged pastries, cereal boxes, hot beverages, milk, pudding and fruit cups, and juice boxes. Would have liked a few savory options. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Negatives: The building is dated, and was especially noticeable in the bathroom. Paint in the bathtub was peeling and the humidity had clearly done some damage on the wall. However, nothing was dirty. Some outlets/lamps and the TV didn't work but it wasn't a big deal. I really enjoyed our stay and the great service from the staff. If you are particular about the looks of your room, this is not the place for you, but if you're on a budget and are flexible with your accommodations you'll enjoy this hotel.

The beds were comfortable. It was clean. Nothing fancy but I wasn’t focused on appearance I wanted a clean and comfortable place at a central location and this was the spot. It was a weekend getaway with my sister. I would stay there again. I felt safe and nothing shady occurred during my stay.

It is in the heart of everything you will want to do and see. Older hotel, so don't expect bells and whistles. It was very decent for the price and location.

Hotel is in a prime spot. security is not top priority...very noisy area, loud bass for hours and got woken by fireworks at 5:30am. Not ideal for a family stay more for early 20's partying type place. To go Breakfast-umm good luck on that.. very sketchy place

The hotel was old, carpets were dirty, and peeled paint in the bath tub. It was not a safe place to rest your head. The staff were accommodating.

Paying the big deposit was a shocker, but I had the clerk look at the place afterward. As long as we get our refund, I am okay.
