Reviews
Hotel Trouvail is a boutique hotel that offers a unique, art deco style with a relaxed atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and convenient location close to the beach. However, some guests have complained about thin walls leading to noise disturbances and a few issues with cleanliness.

The art deco style building! Very beautiful. Room was clean and cute. Loved the couch. Staff was kind and welcoming, specially Miriam and Allan at front desk, very cooperative!! Nothing to complain about. Only saw pool in the evening was a bit dirty.
- 5/5
There was an interesting smell in the room, but you only notice it when you first enter.
- 5/5
Very unique and eclectic. Can’t wait to go back. Great for couples, girls trips or small families. None

- 5/5
Breakfast was excellent. Location was perfect. I did like everything about this place.
- 4/5
Clean spacious and so cute! The noise level was hard to get sleep we were on the 1st floor and could hear everything from the lobby to the guests above us and anything in the hall.
- 5/5
Liked a lot Nothing
- 5/5
Breakfast was not available. Lunch only at 4 pm onwards. But there are many other options to grab meals elsewhere in the area, so not a big deal.
- 4.5/5
Our room was close to the bar so we had some noise in the evening

Location
- 5/5
Everything was perfect. Exceptional customer service. Room size and amenities were great.
- 4/5
We were not informed about any breakfast!!! Just coffee. Also, our room was on the first floor just three rooms down the hall from the lobby bar. The bar was noisy will beyond midnight. We didn't sleep well that night. Fortunately we asked the staff for a quieter room on the top floor. They gave us a quieter room on the third floor. A quiet room for the first night!!
- 5/5
Everything the comfort and the hospitality. Especially Miryam was amazing and super helpful and kind professional and respectful Nothing
- 4/5
Lovely staff at the front desk - Miriam, Maria and Ilona - very warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. The restaurant staff were also very good. The hotel has a nice cozy vibe and the location is good with close walking distance to the beach and restaurants. I did not like that the bathroom does not have a sink, mirror nor countertop. Very inconvenient to have these important things in the bedroom.
- 5/5
It was peaceful Everything was great
- 4/5
Very kind and responsive staff. Great communication throughout the entire stay via text 24/7. Good location, close to beach and transportation if needed, and a 30 min walk to ocean drive or 10 min drive. The sound isolation is very poor. The music from the restaurant downstairs is too loud and can be heard from the second floor well into the night. You can hear people walking and talking in the hallway. I constantly heard noise coming from the suite above me, my entire room would shake when someone above me would walk or close and open the door at 3 am. Was very hard to get a good night sleep. The AC also started leaking, maintenance came right away but again it woke me up at 2 am as it started dripping on the floor.
- 5/5
Excellent location 10/10 price value Missing a morning cafe
- 1/5
Location. So much noise. Barely slept any night unfortunately. Staff was nice. But it wasn’t a proper hotel. No acoustic. Felt like sleeping in the lobby. With music and loud people talking.
- 4.5/5
The reception shares space with a bar/restaurant. We were in the first floor and it was quite noisy even at late hours.
- 4.5/5
Bedroom was clean and quite big Staff was nice and helpful Facilities were good in general And location really Great No iron in bedroom and the one provided didn't work No charging station in common area
- 3.5/5
The sinks were outside the bath rooms, like in the middle of the rooms near the bed, which wasn’t a pleasant setting.
- 5/5
Important: To access the parking lot, make a quick park in front of the hotel and go to the front desk; they will give you the code for the parking gate. I think we paid $53 for parking for one night.
- 5/5
It was clean, fresh coffee, property like pictures, all request fulfilled, the interior design beautiful, & nice pool area
- 3.5/5
Great location, literally steps from the beach. Beatiful building, nice spacious rooms. Small and cozy pool with chairs in the pool area. PAID parking just by the building, and location good enough to take a stroll to downtown Miami Beach. Staff was sometimes rude, inattentive. Parking was 45$ on the weekday and over 50$ on the weekend DAILY. Rooms were not clean - dirty floor, shelves not properly dusted. Super strong aroma sprayed in the hallways. Pretentious and hipster bistro/restaurant located in the lobby with staff being rude to hotel customers because "they are not connected with the hotel".
- 4.5/5
I liked Hotel Trouvail. The pool was fab, room was clean, Location was great. The Rooms should have smart TV's and the restaurant/bar should be open daily.
- 2.5/5
A laid-back stay just steps from the beach. Friendly, attentive staff are always around—and if you need anything, you can simply text the front desk for quick, easy service. Decent all around stay at hotel. A few things fell short of expectations. We requested an early check-in since our flight arrived at 9am—completely understandable if that couldn’t be accommodated—but having to wait until 4pm to access the room felt excessive. In the meantime, we were asked to pay extra just to use the facilities, and the pool was so crowded it was nearly impossible to find a chair. While the beach is close, you’re responsible for carrying your own chairs, which takes away from the convenience you’d expect. We also asked for a late check-out and unfortunately that couldn’t be accommodated either, which made the overall experience feel less flexible than hoped.
- 4.5/5
Parking is very expensive, and rooms on the first floor are by the restaurant and bar, so a bit noisy.
- 3.5/5
Poor Wifi and AC
- 4/5
The eclectic design, the pool, and the great mattress. No restaurant, a strong mildew smell, and it looked pretty run down.
- 5/5
Stayed one night, but loved Hotel Trouvail. Old school Miami Beach vibe without being pretentious about it. Friendly and helpful staff (shoutout to Florian!). Easy walk to the beach and top notch dining and cocktails. Enjoyed hanging out in the pool area, which was green and comfortable, felt like a calm oasis. Are already considering a follow-up stay next time we’re in Miami.
- 1/5
We had been recommended the hotel back home in Denmark but were badly disappointed. Due to traffic we called the hotel on the way from Orlando to make sure we could do a late check-in. This was confirmed and informed, the reception was manned 24/7. When we arrived at the hotel at 01.15 the reception, lobby and bar were deserted and no one answered the phone when you contact their provided phone number. We waited for the next 3 hours with our two children and during that time we experienced drunk and rowdy guests at the hotel, scantily clad ladies who came to some rooms and left again within half an hour and fights outside the hotel. Frustrated at not being able to check in and feeling unsafe in general at the hotel we found another hotel in the area at 05.30. Thanks to Hotels.com for cancelling our booking and getting our money back
- 4/5
I really liked how close the area is to the beach! Just walking distance was great. The room was clean and the entire hotel gave a very cute vintage vibe!! The only thing is that the parking and resort fees do add up so take that into consideration when booking and your budget. The amenities are great but not sure if it’s enough of a vibe for the amount of resort fees! They did give us umbrellas to use at the beach as well. Other than that had a great stay!!
- 3/5
Great lobby. Front desk manager has zero personality. Rooms are very cute but horribly laid out. No sink or mirror in the bathroom. It's on the other side of the room. So to wash you hands or brush your teeth or style your hair etc you have to go to the other side of the room. No furniture to place clothes, just a wire wrack with some hangers and 1 bench (shelf) to put clothes on. A resort fee is just unnecessary here. Could be a really cute hotel, but there's just nothing special here.
- 5/5
Very nice and friendly staff, pool is small but very beautiful. Clean, nice terrace in the front of the hotel to have a night cap. Lots of nice Art Deco elements.
- 5/5
Well kept with friendly personnel/staff. They were very accommodating with the rooms. All rooms were clean, beds comfy, and the area was quiet
- 2/5
Fron desck people are very rude, parking fee very expensive
- 5/5
Service was personable and friendly.
- 4/5
Great staff, cute theme! They were very accomodating and helpful. Elevator is super small and only fits like 3 people but great price and rooms with an amazing view!
- 5/5
It was great! All the women at the desk and the bar were really amazing, kind, and informative! Each one was a pleasure to be around! The men however, were quite stand-offish but it didn’t sully my stay! The pool was such a beautiful oasis and I really like the room though there wasn’t an ice machine. That’d be a great add! Thanks ladies for a being amazing!
- 3/5
This was a quick one night stay for me. The place was inexpensive but....you get what you pay for (buy cheap get cheap).
- 4/5
I liked the chicness and vibe of the hotel.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay! The service was wonderful, our room was very clean and quiet. The hotel is a very short walk from the beach. We would definitely stay again!.
- 3/5
Wasn't the cleanest hotel, but it also wasn’t the worst we’ve stayed in. Room decor was strange… 2 small patio/bistro chairs and a full size Smeg fridge. Didn’t seem as nice as it was in the pictures. Parking situation was kinda a mess. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
Super cool and stylish hotel. We had a great time
- 1/5
We couldn’t stay there. We had to find another hotel. They really didn’t care.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice enough that I would stay there again. The staff were all very nice. Keep in mind that the hotel was built in 1940, so it is very dated.
- 5/5
Excellent place
- 5/5
The property is so beautiful and in a great location! the staff was very friendly and am the experience so easy! i would definitely come back
- 5/5
I love the backyard!
- 4/5
it was a nice hotel
- 1/5
This place scams so badly. They charged me an additional $100 “deposit” PER DAY on the check in day. Fine whatever. Proceeded to charge me the full price on check out and 3 times the full amount 3 days later. So total I paid over three thousand dollars for an eight hundred dollar three days stay. They also had roaches.
- 3/5
There was a dead cockroach in our room and it smelled really weird but looked kind of cute
- 5/5
Miami Beach is filled with many hotel options, many are just a miss. This property is a unique throwback to likely what it may have been when it was built. I personally like the secluded pool, the updated design in the rooms, which are also spacious. There are a few standout employees, which make up for non-so-standouts, but everyone is nice and it feels welcoming to all. I’ve stayed here many times over the years. Although not bad, I wish the dining experience at the hotel was a little more elevated. I prefer staying away from the overly touristy part of Miami Beach and this little gem is still walkable from the main madness, so you don’t miss anything.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, had everything I needed and the staff was amazing. I will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
The location is great if you’re looking to stay in that part of Miami Beach. Hotels a block away are two or three times the price. I was in a corner room with a kitchenette. I requested an iron and they had it at the room before I made it up from the lobby! Only two major downsides, one easily reparable. The lightbulb over the sink area was so dim. I had to use the flashlight on my iPhone to shave. A bigger issue was the fact that it was 56° last weekend and my room had no heat. I was quite sure on time and couldn’t deal with reporting this. I imagine that it’s not uncommon in Miami for Hotels not to have central heat or room heating. Generally not a problem, but it was this weekend. Otherwise, someplace I would definitely consider staying again.
- 5/5
I had an excellent stay at Hotel Trouvail! The property is beautiful and historic, really feels like stepping back in time to the '40's! The room was cute and chic and the pool was heated and felt so fun and tropical! The location is great- a block from the beach and rooms overlooking the bay, a few blocks from many restaurants and right across the street from the free trolleys going all over Miami Beach area! The staff were so friendly and helpful answering questions and readily available to assist any time. Isabella was super helpful in the check in process and giving us advice on restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend this property!
- 4/5
The hotel suited our need. Convenient, clean, not too large. I would stay there again
- 5/5
A wonderful boutique hotel. The staff is very personable and helpful. A true gem.
- 5/5
Room design
- 5/5
Absolutely love the Trouvail! Flo the manager is incredibly accommodating every time.
- 3/5
Hotel has a great lobby, front patio and pool area, but everything else felt as if the ‘upkeep budget’ was slashed. No more bikes to use etc.
- 3/5
Loved the location but the hotel wasn’t as great
- 5/5
Got there and people were nice and respectful. Even got us checked in earlier which was awesome. Wonderful! Will be staying again
- 5/5
Great amenities like dishes in a kitchenette, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker (that I felt is clean to use). It has well placed electrical outlets to charge multiple electronics. There's a lockable safe for valuables but it's small & not anchored or bolted in place. There's a nice hanging rack for clothes & luggage bags. They do have luggage carts fyi. There's a separate vanity outside the bathroom for when someone is showering you can still do other tasks. The A/C works great. There are blackout curtains, which is a must. There are plenty of mirrors & the tile floor was very clean. The whole room was aesthetic. The bedding was nice, cleanky white, & comfy. The TV channel options are okay, not many channels but watching TV is not the main focus on vacation. They do provide amenities like soap, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, tissues, q-tips. The shower is a HUGE glass door walk-in with a HUGE shower head. I did not have any issues with the electronic door key card, getting in on different multiple days was not problematic as it can be at many hotels. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous! But it's cold in late Nov, we heard the pool heater doesn't come on till December 1st. That is one of my biggest and only complaints. I think it should be turned on when the water turns a certain temperature. Like now. lol There were plenty of clean pool towels and absolutely lots of seating by the pool. From short lounge chairs, taller loungers, retro seats, cute end tables.
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 3/5
Hotel was very well decorated and in a great location, but didn’t get the best night’s sleep. The sheets were very scratchy and the air conditioner or plumbing made a loud water emptying noise at random intervals through the night. I’m not usually a light sleeper but it kept me awake most of the night. The elevator was also extremely small and when we arrived and asked for a luggage cart the front desk employee just pointed towards it and didn’t help with the door, luggage, or warn us about squeezing it into the elevator. Also be aware that you have to park in the loading zone to bring your luggage in, that wasn’t clear to us because there was no signage so we called when we arrived to try to figure it out.
- 5/5
Chic place, French/european style. It feels like it suffers from management standpoint. Service was poor: we’re not capable of giving a blanket, we’re not able to provide with an iron etc. room service was good though, breakfasts and lunches were truly marvellous! So the after feeling is contradictory: charming place but lacks common service.
- 3/5
Standard hotel. Room smelled bad. Excellent service from the front desk. Poor service from the bartender. Arrived at 9.50 pm, couldn't get a drink nd later found out they close at 10 pm but that "he was winding down". I would have given it 4 stars except I hate those resort fees. just include everything in the price. Therefore only 3.
- 5/5
Pleasant little boutique hotel that’s dated, but still has some charm. Easy access to beach and restaurants. Beds were comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff are very friendly and Professional. The pool area is very secluded and private and warm and welcoming.
- 5/5
Quiet and relaxing a perfect place to just get away thank you hotel trouvail and for everything...
- 4/5
Wasn’t open , limited amount of Beach umbrellas and chairs if you have a big family Other than that very clean and very friendly and comfortable!!!
- 5/5
We love the classic Miami Beach, feel, the art, deco, decor, and that you are walking distance of so many great places to eat, and blocks away from the beach. We will be coming back again soon!
- 5/5
A STAY. Very Calm
- 5/5
Very nice and helpful staff. Very clean. Good location.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay conveniently located. Room was clean. Beds were comfy. Staff was friendly upon check in and check out.
- 5/5
All of the staff encountered were efficient and friendly. The eclectic art decor was nothing short of fabulous. Looking forward to my next visit.
- 5/5
This hotel was perfect , clean, nicely decorated , pool area was lovely , close to the beach… only downfall was that the walls were a little thin, could hear the neighbors in the room next to us pretty loudly.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel and it’s just a block away from the beach! I arrived early and they were able to accommodate an early check in which was very appreciated. The room was clean but there’s no iron in the room (not sure if you can ask front desk for one but I didn’t need it). They also have beach towels and beach chairs at the pool which you can take to the beach. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Close to the beach
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 4/5
I wish I could give 4.5 stars, because it really was excellent- there was just one small thing that didn't work for me, which was the thin walls and how easy it was to hear what was happening in the halls, other rooms, and footsteps overhead. I am very noise sensitive, so for others it may not be a problem at all. Luckily, the other guests were all pretty normal, quiet people and not loud partiers at all, so it was a chill crowd.
- 5/5
Pleasant stay
- 5/5
Nice and clean rooms. AC worked great. Biggest perk was the food the hotel offered which was amazing. Excellent service from Flo & Francisco.
- 3/5
Could be cute hotel if cleaned upa bit, old pool cushions, carpet old, upper level rooms were muggy, had a centipede bug.
- 5/5
I liked the friendliness of all the concierges. Shout out to Flor, and special mention to Chris and Isabella. Sleep was great, beds are very comfortable. Pool area beautiful and unique. This hotel is a big relief from the big box hotels. Staff know people by first name. It is a boutique hotel. Two minutes from the beach. Would suggest a stand with tour brochures, Great hotel for families and solos alike.
- 3/5
The room was adorable and felt so warm! Although there are some things that could be touched up, overall really nice stay!
- 4/5
A chest of drawers in the room would be helpful.
- 4/5
Really nice team. Nice clean room. Perfect place for my purposes, only in Miami for work bot pleasure so met my expectations.
- 4/5
The property is honestly nice and “bougie”. The only thing I didn’t like was the smell of the rooms. Like it smelled clean but it was a funny smell almost like mildewed mop water as soon as you walk into the room. It was almost unbearable. But that may just be my experience. The other people I traveled with noticed it but they said it didn’t bother them.
- 5/5
The people that worked there were very sweet and there was a nice feeling in the lobby. Love the decor!!
- 5/5
Everything was great! One suggestion would be to give an access key for the parking lot to make it easy for guests using it to park their car.
- 5/5
Excellent and nice area
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, friendly, good location, great breakfasts in the lobby.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Nice pool area
- 3/5
Wasn’t great for the price
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
Spacious, clean, and well decorated rooms, friendly staff, and nice amenities. I would definitely recommend!!!
- 4/5
Room was fairly clean, but had a weird smell. Balcony was small but nice and we did take a nap with the door open during the rain that was absolutely fabulous. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and the beach was less than a 5 minute walk away. Overall not a bad experience at all. I would skip the breakfast/lunch as it wasn’t great but the front desk recommended a place walking distance called Tropical Beach Cafe that was so good! Definitely worth trying.
- 5/5
A amazing place will stay again.
- 5/5
Amazing throw back experience! The hotel is definitely dated but in the best possible way. If art deco retro is your bag this is the place. We stayed for 4 nights as a couples get away and absolutely loved it. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very sweet. The beach location is a 5 minute walk away, and the hotel provides a voucher for a chair and towel. Weird added bonus is the Princess Bride was playing on a tiny retro tv in the lobby on a loop 24/7. I loved it and look forward to stay there again
- 5/5
The hotel was a great place to stay in Miami beach. It was clean and has a really cool design too. The pool area was nice and beach access provided too. There were fre bikes which we used, however they were a bit old. The hotel is very clean though it can be noisy due to the fact it is an old building. Overall, we would recommend this hotel and would consider staying again 🙂
- 4/5
Needs to have more variety in food. I mean more options to choose
- 5/5
This is the best little hotel in Miami Beach. Staff are exceptional, rooms faultless, centrally located and walk to the beach
- 3/5
However, if you prioritise sleep in any way, this hotel will not suit your needs. It’s an old building with no consideration made for sound control. It’s probably the nosiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Good points: Price Staff were very nice and accommodating The pool area is quite tranquil and green Free iced water is provided by the pool Trolley bus stop immediately outside Well connected to the rest of the city Downsides: Room smelt of damp Black mould in the shower Air conditioning made an annoying rattle throughout the night No free water in the room and $16 dollars for a bottle of water The paid for snacks in the room were incredibly expensive and had expired months ago The noise created by other guests travelled - it was like being in the room with them
- 5/5
Pretty great property.
- 2/5
I didn't like that you guys have charged me extra money for each day of stay $35!!!! It felt like scam that I wasn't aware about! This hotel price was over charged already, but you asked for more... that was ridiculous... Plus when I came to check in at 2 am your receptionist wasn't at the desk and then I had to wait for her to come to her desk (there was no staff , no one) for at least 15 minutes in the middle of the night to check us in.. And after that you charge me 35$ extra per night... For what?!
- 3/5
The bar closes super early (even on weekends). Besides that, the staff was helpful and friendly. They just need to improve the rooms and up keeping of the rooms.
- 5/5
Flo front desk attendant very polite and helpful Great group of folks
- 5/5
Our recent stay at Trouvail Miami Beach was just lovely. This charming French retro hotel is nestled amongst all the big players on the strip at a fraction of the cost. It’s a short walk to the beach and they have complimentary bicycles if you like. Unlike the all day techno blast at most of the larger hotels, the pool scene at Trouvail is chill and relaxed with a great variety of music playing at just the right volume. The staff was welcoming, friendly and there for us when we needed something or some advice. Mariana at the bar was always ready to mix up something delicious, Daniel at the front desk sent us out to some great local experiences and Francisco (Pancho) took care of us all day by the pool and we had a few really nice conversations with him. When our outbound flight was delayed they were gracious enough to let us check out a little late and we really appreciated that. We would definitely stay there again. Hotel Trouvail is truly a “Lucky Find” as the name implies.
- 5/5
Everyone at Hotel Trouvail was the kindest and they definitely wanted to make sure you had a good stay. The pool area is so relaxing and you can get some great french food while hanging out. The rooms were a nice size and well equipped. We definitely enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The staff were nice and very helpful during our stay. The room itself was well kept and cozy. The one thing that bothered me was the overall smell of the hotel. Every indoor space smelled heavily perfumed, our room included. I eventually got used to it but the scent was not pleasant to me. The drinks at the bar were great though. I think I would stay again.
- 5/5
Very cute hotel, great pool and friendly staff.
- 5/5
I went for my birthday. The room was so much better than I had expected. I feel like the pictures don’t do it Justice. I wish I had stayed longer. Front desk was so friendly. The elevator wasn’t working and my room was on the 4th floor so the front desk compensated my parking. I will definitely be booking again soon!
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean hotel.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel Trouvail so much! The front desk staff and restaurant staff were so lovely and took care of all our needs. All of the drinks and food that we tried were delicious. The rooms were very comfortable and cute.
- 3/5
A comfortable hotel, very much in a retro Miami Beach style. Modernized and well maintained and for the most comfortable. Located just off Collins Ave but away from the "spring break" partying and craziness and about a 5 minute walk to the beach with a few (but not many) restaurants in walking distance, and its easy to get off and on the island. Only issues - walls are thin and we had loud neighbors, you hear everything. The room layout has the sink in the room, not in the bathroom, very limited storage (no drawers). Breakfast very expensive.
- 3/5
Unauthorized room service
- 5/5
Nice concierge staff, and helpful with attractions .
- 5/5
Great location. Clean rooms. Great staff. Only thing missing in my room was a small fridge. Comfortable bed.
- 4/5
It was a nice stay. I just didn’t like that they didn’t have a microwave in the room and no courtesy drinks . Everything on the fridge had to be payed for.
- 4/5
My boyfriend and I stayed at hotel Trouvail while vacationing in Miami. Overall, the hotel was decent. The highlight is the cute pool area in a nice shaded space. We also liked that it was in a quieter area of Miami steps from the beach. The room itself was okay. The bed did not have a fitted sheet and the sheet kept coming up off the mattress and kept having to get pulled down. The pillows were also small and uncomfortable. I think the property should invest in some better sheets and bedding. The walls were also very thin and you could hear the other guests and anything going on in the hallway. The people across from us were very loud and you could hear them from inside our room when they were in their room. I get that Miami is a party area, but it isn’t fun to hear other people when you are trying to rest. For all these reasons I didn’t sleep well there. They should also invest in sound machine or fan to block out noise. The hallways were also very dark and lighting should be better. The staff members were very nice and accommodating except for one woman who was working the bar that had an attitude and was rude to my boyfriend. The breakfast and other food was very good and nice quality but expensive. The hotel should at least provide coffee in the morning. They did provide beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and have a few bikes which was a nice touch.
- 5/5
Nice hotel and friendly staff
- 5/5
The hotel is cozy with a beautiful pool area . Daniel and Florian are the nicest and were extremely helpful! Florian set up a trip to the Everglades for us that we thoroughly enjoyed. The property is two blocks from the beach and is quiet, but is close enough to Ocean Drive. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Trouvail immensely!
- 5/5
Low water pressure.
- 5/5
Very nice spot. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff, great location, clean.
- 3/5
Not a modern hotel circa 1960. Small elevator, with carpeting, room with sink outside of bathroom. if you just want to sleep and visit South Beach this is the place.
