Although I love the music playing, the bass was so strong that everything in the room was rattling. It’s definitely an adult, party hotel..

Everyone in housekeeping were amazing, great attitude. They provided all the necessities that we asked for with no hesitation(we dont get our rooms cleaned every day since we are out and about) The room: Very small, with tiny closet, safe, ironing board, large mirror and hairdryer, limited/non-existing space for anything. The crooked small TV with dangling cables on the wall was unexpected! The tiled floors needed some TLC, very dirty and sticky, specially in the bathroom (I always clean and disinfect everything we touch...sad habit) The bathroom was a surprise, I thought it was a closet, hence the closet doors. No privacy, thankfully my husband and I are very comfortable with each other. The AC was either really cold or hot and humid, no in between. The mattress unfortunately was my biggest disappointment, I usually get amazing rest even if we sleep for 3hrs at the hotels when we travel. I'm not sure if the mattress was just old and very used, but they were super soft with no support, like sleeping on a bean bag! The tiny pool is in direct site of dinning and dancing area. Overall, we make the best out of our trips and have fun, unfortunately we were celebrating my birthday.
- 5/5
Be aware there are no fridges in any of the rooms which was not ideal and it was very hot outside and our room did not stay cold. The hallway was freezing but our room was cool at best. Also there are no drawers to put your clothes
- 3/5
I booked the rockstar suite with a balcony and the experience was terrible. It was right above the stage and the music played everyday from 10 am to 2 am. The entire room vibrated from the base of the music. The lighting in the bathroom was poor and there was no full size mirror in the entire "suite". I would not recommend it, and did not have a restful or relaxing time.
- 5/5
Had an excellent stay. Loved the balcony room. If we were too tired to party downstairs we hung out on balcony listening to music and watching everyone. And love how adults only not any crazy kids running around. All staff we dealt with were extremely kind and helpful
- 3.5/5
The location was great The picture are alittle miss leading on how it really is . If you’re looking for a chill time don’t go here it’s a popping bottles and open pool to the public type of place . Pool sucks super small seating sucks

Everything was good

The front desk staff, specifically Michelle, and also the lovely woman when we check out on 0602 at 11am were just amazing...thoughtful, friendly, accommodating, just kind people, something to be grateful for these days in your staff!! Also the bartenders were top notch as well as the weekend MC!! Same with them, just great humans and made our stay fun and memorable. Beds super comfy. AC had a super hard time keeping up and was only beginning of summer and cloudy. By 1030am already couldn't keep up with even 72. Shower was great! Anytime anything was needed it was brought to us promptly and without question. Felt safe and happy and everything was in walking distance! Definitely will be back!!

Good safe police presence. Nice view from room to see Air Show at the beach. Very friendly and attentive staff. We love the loud music deep into the night, so that was no bother. Close to everything. CVS drug store 2 blocks away. We saved on parking by pre-booking parking approx 5 blocks inland. We used Clevelander bikes to drive down to the beautiful seawall at the point. We also enjoyed the famous "Time Clock" almost right across the street. The beach accommodations with chairs and towels is a few blocks walk, but it was ok. The food was better than most. We will definitely be going back to Clevelander.
- 2.5/5
Location was great! Staff weren’t very attentive. We arrived and no one was at the desk. When she finally arrived, there was no customer service. No welcome drink offered (which was included) just silence and passed us our room key. The original room had awful noisy air con, so we asked to switch. The second room was basic but ok.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be returning!!! The staff was excellent especially the front desk receptionists!!! Thanks for a perfect stay in Miami

valet wasn't helpful , staff was low energy , bell man wasn't aware of customer needing assistance. overall room was nice and clean , atmosphere was nice as well.
- 5/5
Not appliances in the room.no microwave no refrigerator.had to eat an drink everything before going to my room
- 1/5
We checked in early which was great. Upon check in we were suppose to receive two comp drinks, never received them. There was only one elevator, very old bikes, the room did not look like it did on the website, curtains were dirty, sheets were rough, the room smelled like the floor was mopped with pee, the handles were not properly down on the sink, I can go on and on. I was completely disappointed.
- 4/5
I will start with the good. The location is excellent! It is right in the middle of ocean Drive south Beach. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from that are within walking distance, a great beach, you can work out on the beach and play volleyball. The staff at Clevelander hotel adults only were friendly. Now the bad. The room is very, very small. It is in great need of remodeling. It was not clean. There was blood on the wall. The bathroom was very small and looks like it is in a closet. There was dirty towels in the shower. The door to the bathroom was coming off the hinge. If you just need a place to sleep, within walking distance of many things to do, we recommend this location. When we got to the hotel, they also charged us an additional $82 resort fee that we were not aware of. Lastly, there was a slight rain and our TV stopped working. Maintenance came and could not get it working again. If you’re looking for luxury, this is not the place to stay.
- 2/5
Clean but old
- 4/5
staff was great especially christy. no fridge no microwaves no ice machine. the access to the pull to get chairs is on 15th but hotel on 10th. rooms are super small, but great staff. rooms were clean and location convenient.
- 2/5
My hotel room was right by the bar and pool area, so there was absolutely no sleep. The music and partying went on until almost 4AM every night. If you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and quiet by the beach … this definitely ain’t the spot. The room itself was very average and basic, nothing special at all. I ended up checking out after one night and booked another hotel with way better rooms and a much calmer atmosphere. I’m too grown for all the nonstop partying, binge drinking, and chaos all night long 😂

Everything.. amazing location and party vibe! I had to leave.

Some of the workers was not very polite just two women were nice. They only give two bottles of water for your whole day. No microwave unless you ask for one no coolers in a room to keep sold as award as cold for your stay I will never stay there again not enough to keep me comfortable no refrigerator and room rooms just two beds and a TV. Maybe it’s OK for some people, but it just didn’t fit me and my girlfriend’s to take a Mother’s Day trip every year we were not too comfortable other than that. I guess the place was OK. I will give it a three star for no microwave refrigerator two bottles of water. It’s

Things that were never mentioned, or that I never saw when researching for where I would stay is that 1.) yes, the property is beach front, BUT THE BEACH CHAIRS INCLUDED WITH THE HOTEL STAY require you to walk several blocks from the hotel to get too, If I had known this when browsing hotels, I would have not picked the Clevelander for my stay. 2.) If you are like me, I like to spend my days on the beach and finish the evening out by the pool. Yes, the hotel has a pool (if you can even call it that, more like a small kiddy pool) BUT there is absolutely no option for seating/lounging, AND you are not allowed to bring your outside purchased food/drinks in the pool area at all, even if you are a guest. VERY disappointing. Pre-vacation, if i had known these 2 huge factors when picking a hotel, I would have not picked here for my stay. Overall, besides what has already been mentioned, hotel check-in & check out was very smooth, all the staff were very helpful and friendly,

I wouldn't stay in these dorm-like rooms again... stay somewhere else.

Close proximity to everything needed for a fun evening. Hospitality was great by the front desk staff and maintenance. Received a welcome drink! We had a roof leak! Maintenance was quick to come up and fix the problem. Our room phone also didn’t work. Therefore, I had to find the hotel’s number on Google then call them from my personal cell phone

Great party atmosphere! Great time. Food was also really good. And the drinks....holy moly. Location is perfect because of beach is right there, and the clubs and shops are so close, you don't need transport.

Great area on Ocean Dr! Rooms are clean but very small. No fridge, no microwave, no chair, no extra anything, small closet. Literally just for sleeping. Staff were nice and friendly. If you looking for sleep/peace time, not a great place to stay due to live dj starting 10 AM until about 2/3 AM so all day.

I booked the Clevelander Hotel knowing it had a reputation as a party hotel, but the reality was far worse than I imagined. I'm someone who enjoys a good time, but the Clevelander sacrifices basic comfort and hygiene in the name of revelry, and it's simply unacceptable. First, the rooms are ridiculously small. I understand space can be limited, but there wasn't even a tiny table to put a drink on! And the lack of a refrigerator? In Miami heat? Unforgivable. No coffee maker either. We're not asking for luxury, just basic amenities. To top it off, there were no drawers to store clothes, forcing us to live out of our suitcases for the entire stay. It felt like we were crammed into a closet. The pool was the biggest disappointment. "Dirty" doesn't even begin to describe it. It felt like swimming in questionable soup. Yes, it's a party hotel, but that's no excuse for neglecting basic cleanliness. A little effort goes a long way! And if you need ice, prepare for an ordeal. You have to request it from the front desk and wait an unreasonably long time. It's a simple request that shouldn't require a major production. How hard is it to have ice readily available for guests? Honestly, the Clevelander needs a serious overhaul. It feels like they rely solely on its reputation and location, completely neglecting guest comfort. The lack of basic amenities, combined with the unsanitary pool- definitely will never come back again.

Nice place to stay on beach in classic Miami hotel
- 1/5
We were unfortunate to trapped on that terrible advertisement on Expedia. I will never being trapped like that . NEVER RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
- 2/5
Rooms very small, property very old, smell of cleaning agent and poor ventilation for the room and windows do not open, I felt like suffocating
- 5/5
This is the place to stay. Staff was great. The wife and I will be back.
- 5/5
Great Resort for adults!!

Classic rooms with small size restrooms. Walkable to shops and restaurants.
- 4/5
Clean room and excellent location. LOUD though. We had to have earplugs one night to sleep.
- 2/5
For the high price I was very shocked. They make everything look much better online. It is walking distance to a few fun places.
- 4/5
Rockstar suite is extremely loud til about 2am-4am . Staff is amazing and location is perfect on beach.

My sofa had crumbs and left over trash in side it on top of the shower not getting hot this was the first hotel I just did not feel was clean the hallways smelled of mildew and at 400 plus a night for the rockstar suite my tv did not even work this was truly my worse hotel experience and I had high hopes I chose to stay here for my birthday
- 5/5
Staff very polite.

No parking was horrible

great property great views
- 4/5
Did not get an ocean view, they were not cleaned and ready at 2 pm. Wayward, alfred, a poolside room quix, turned out to be right above. The pool area, which was also right above the party area.Music and very loud noise went on until three a m on saturday night. We actually went out and bought earplugs. Follow the ocean view room and booking the hotel. No offer of a price refund was given. The hotel is very much a party hotel which it was listed as being adult friendly. But the pool area and stuff was loud. And ongoing throughout the night.
- 1/5
Check-in time was 4 PM, but our room was not ready. When we were finally given keys, the room was still dirty from the previous guest. We were then transferred to the Essex at Clevelander, but when we arrived there, that room had also not been cleaned by housekeeping. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes before we could check in. The toilet barely works and takes several flushes to fully clear. There is also almost no storage space for clothes; only one very small drawer. The elevator made loud, strange noises and every time it stopped, it felt like the entire thing shook before the doors opened. The day before we left, we left the room around 11:30 AM and returned at 5 PM, and it still had not been cleaned. We left again to give housekeeping more time, but when we came back an hour later, the room still had not been serviced. Very disappointing experience overall. I would not stay here again.
- 2/5
The hotel was extremely disappointing. The carpet was dirty, and the rooms were uncomfortably small. There was a heavy police presence throughout the property, which made the environment feel uneasy. The front desk staff experience was inconsistent—one employee on the second shift was very rude and came across as if she disliked her job, which was unprofessional. However, the morning staff member was wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Despite that positive interaction, my overall experience was poor, and I will not be staying here again.

The pool is very old, but it is more about the atmosphere. It actually does not look clean at all, but a few people got in. The allure to this property is it’s location and the fact that they have a DJ playing all day long. So if you’re looking to get some sleep or take a nap during the day, be mindful that this is a party hotel and that the music is playing all day and all night. Very fun late night vibe!
- 5/5
enjoyed the stay

The staff was great. The location is in the heart of South Beach. There is no chair in the room. The pool is tiny. Bar is great.

The room was fine but the hotel was not.
- 4/5
Yeah, staff were fine. Lots of shopping and restaurants wit in walking distance. Music was really loud and disruptive during the night, but that’s my bad for not really looking into hotel before booking. The beach is right across the way and the reason we came.
- 2/5
The location The bathroom was basically in the bedroom which made it uncomfortable for 4 guests. The lobby was not impressive considering the hotel is legendary.

The location The bathroom was basically in the bedroom which made it uncomfortable for 4 guests. The lobby was not impressive considering the hotel is legendary.
- 2/5
The room smelled in a way we could not stay and the loud music was ridiculous
- 1/5
Tiny Television Inconvenient USB and light controls Stiff mattress with uncomforting blankets and sheets Balcony had years worth of stains on the lounger pillows The bathroom was straight out of a 1930's State prison. So much potential....but for the price the potential should have already been fulfilled.
- 5/5
The location is absolutely perfect — close to everything and incredibly convenient. The hotel is super clean, and you can truly relax and enjoy every part of your stay. The most impressive part, though, is the service, especially at the front desk. A very special thank you to Michelle for her kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality. She made my stay even more memorable!
- 4/5
Room had a lock issue that couldnt be resolved. Also corners of floor in room were a bit dirty. Michelee at the front desk was very attentive and helpful and moved us to another room after a few days when a room was avaliable. Hotel is in perfect location.

Can't wait to go back!
- 3/5
Room was clean and spacious. Very, very loud due to proximity to pool/bar area. DJ was playing until 2am and our room looked/felt (lights flashing/bass booming) until then. Prepare yourself or ensure you are in a room on the other side of the hotel.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at the Clevelander Hotel staff was amazing
- 3/5
Dirty. Not nice for the price. South beach I guess. Location was great. Didn’t get a king that we booked.
- 1/5
The room was terrible had to ask for a different room and then the bathroom door didn’t close, only the morning manager was nice
- 2/5
Rare to have hot water. Called three times to get sink leaking on floor fixed. Staff says yes all the time but following through is a challenge. Sports bar closed 4 out of the 6 days there. Security outside beach club there is one dude who just looks at you when you ask any questions. English is definitely not the first language in Miami. Actually Miami/South beach workers are rude in general down the strip. Elevator can carry 3-4 people max. They offer beach chairs but you will walk 4-5 blocks to the beach if using them. Is adults only so very loud when you are in your room with music thumping from beach club late into the night. Wont be back!
- 5/5
Fun place to stay. Really enjoyed my stay
- 5/5
Great location, friendly staff and clean room!
- 5/5
Room exceptional Staff friendly Experience on spot
- 3/5
Staff were good and helpful.. would be nice to they keep some refreshments and clean drinkable water in the lobby. rental bike quality can be better
- 5/5
Lady at the front desk was great. Polite, fun & gave many recommendations as we’re traveling .
- 1/5
Old hotel and loud too overpriced.
- 3/5
The room was okay, but it was freezing; we asked if they could regulate the temperature. It was unusually cold for Miami. After several days of asking for the heat to be turned on we were told that the room did not have any heat and that we could have a blanket. This was a rather odd response considering the fact that we spent a decent amount of money for the room.
- 1/5
Room was FLITHY mold everywhere, everything chipped and busted and just no better than a crack head motel
- 5/5
nice n clean
- 5/5
All was good people were great area awsome
- 1/5
The room was freezing cold. The thermostat and/or heat just didn't work and it was 30 degrees this past weekend. The bed was too low and way too soft. The room had the bathroom right in front of the bed. If the bathroom door wasn't closed, i was looking directly at the toilet. I was not impressed by the accommodations given the reputation of the hotel. I would never stay there again or recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
Counties staff. Room very small
- 4/5
Great location in South beach. One of the old school hotels. Don’t go here looking for a normal hotel pool. It’s small and part of the “club” on the main level next door. It’s not an exclusive club and anyone off the street can come in through security staff
- 5/5
Michelle was fantastic. All service and amenities were great. Highly recommend. Very busy but central to walking everywhere.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay...for sure will be back again
- 3/5
Unfortunately the hotel is exceptionally dated and in need of a major refurb, but the location is excellent and it’s a true Miami party vibe hotel. We had issues with our first room so asked to be moved, the second room was better but had masks on the hand towels and water all along the inside of the windows, this was sorted eventually. The worst issue was the air on, although switch off it was still producing a terrible racket.
- 3/5
Well-located hotel, reasonably clean, but dated and sparse. Welcome drinks were in a can from the front desk, not the bar. Rooms were functional, but strange layout of the bathroom. It served the purpose for my 1-night layover, but that’s it.
- 1/5
The Room was bad, they don’t leave anything for us,they don’t put fridge, microwave even towels I need to go to ask that’s a bad experience
- 1/5
Bad my room shower wasn't working and i was tranfer to a different hotell wich was even worst
- 5/5
Stainie at the front desk was fantastic!! She was extremely knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure our stay was flawless.
- 2/5
The pros were how close we are to the beach and the nice clerks who would hold our luggage on our last day after checking out at 11. Locally when it turns night homeless people roam the streets digging in trash or scammers trying to take photos of women to sell it back to them with no warning. Don’t walk alone at night.
- 1/5
The third room we moved to had no working AC or fan 1/7/26. Joseph got extremely defensive when I told him the room was not clean and had clumps of hair and used eye lashes stuck all over the bed 1/4/26 @ 4:28pm. Worst experience and absolutely would not recommend. All rooms were extremely dirty.
- 5/5
Location, Location. Location
- 3/5
It was too cold and I didn't know how to regulate the buttons to change it. Even after I told reception and the maintenance man came and didn't something, it didn't help and I couldn't understand his English anyway. The next thing was the shower. In order to get hot or even water from it, we have to send in the shower with cold water on us before it turned to heat. The final thing was the bed itself. The first night I turned the sheets down, I found a blood stain on inner sheet. And the bed was way too soft - I dont know what was inside the mattress but between the cold air and the bumpy mattress I couldn't sleep well.
- 4/5
The rooms are small, ac control not good
- 5/5
Good amenities
- 3/5
Way overpriced for what you get! Rooms are VeRY small…not much room between the bed and the walls. No table to set anything on, food overpriced. Definitely take advantage if the happy hour from 4-7 weeknights. Good portion sizes if you are not a big eater. Staff were amazing!!!
- 3/5
Joseph at the front desk was exceptional with the check in. The room was just ok with very old towels.
- 1/5
We had a late check-in on our first day, and when we entered the room, the AC was not working. We immediately reported the issue to the front desk agent, who was very kind and apologetic. Unfortunately, she informed us that she could not change our room or resolve the issue because the manager said we had to wait until the next day. A technician was sent, but the AC was never fixed. We stayed for two nights, and both nights were without air conditioning, which made our stay very uncomfortable. Additionally, the hotel has a strong humidity/mold smell, and while not all areas were dirty, the walls clearly need maintenance and better upkeep. I want to highlight that the staff was very friendly, attentive, and genuinely embarrassed by the manager’s attitude. Their customer service was the only positive aspect of our stay. Unfortunately, due to the overall experience, I would not stay here again.
- 2/5
I rented the suite with a balcony it had no refrigerator it had no microwave. I was hit with an additional charge of $34 a day for things like Wi-Fi when I felt Expedia told me it included everything. You have to call for ice whenever you need it sometimes it's delivered soon sometimes it's not. Most places have a small refrigerator a microwave and an ice machine on each floor. For the breakfast that's included you have to walk down a block to a sister hotel. When I checked out I had to bring my luggage down the street to another valet. This was because the street was blocked off it wasn't their fault. Communicating with staff was rather difficult as a good number of them to speak English.
- 5/5
Clean room nice beach location easycheck in. Nice stay
- 5/5
Amazing staff all super nice, reliable and helpful ! Hotel very well located.
- 5/5
Michelle made our stay memorable - it should be named 'Hotel Michelle'. Unlike so many other service people in S. Beach she was genuinely nice and ready to help. She seemed to be there 24/7 (clearly overworked and underpaid). Stood out? The Clevender outside bar was outstanding in a bad way: the most overpriced lunch in our 53 year history. $114 for mediocre food, awful service and the most overpriced drinks in our history as well (have photos and the receipt to prove this). We will likely come back but stay well away from the bar outside place.
- 5/5
I had an excellent stay here and look forward to coming back again!!!
- 1/5
showed up and said no room for me or any help. terrible place
- 5/5
The Cleavelander is a hotel for young people who are in town to party, not old guys who are in bed by 11. On arrival, I knew I screwed up. The front desk staff could not have been nicer or more professional. They took pity on me and quickly rebooked me in their other property, the Essex House. The room there was spacious and quiet and saved my trip. I would definately stay there again.
- 2/5
The Room Was very basic. The staff was not great at all. The noise level was horrible
- 5/5
Michelle was Amazing!!!
- 4/5
Everyone was helpful except one lazy woman who worked overnite.
- 5/5
The location is amazing and the party atmosphere was fun, fun, fun. I only wish there were lounge chairs around the pool. Just having high tables and chairs made it impossible to enjoy going to the pool.
- 3/5
Now the positives…. It’s prime location in South Beach on Ocean Dr! The party outside at the Clevelander is amazing! The front desk agent, Godfrey, was great!

Location is the best in the area!
- 5/5
The staff were kind and personable from start to finish. They were always helpful and happy.
- 4/5
Rooms were small but very nice, amazing view of the pool and party like atmosphere. Amazing if you want to soak in the South Beach vibe and great dinning.
- 5/5
No bar nice view
- 4/5
Rooms are very small without refrigerator or microwave. However, restaurant bar and food was easily accessible and good! Wait staff was pleasant and attentive except for one server who was slow and lacking compared to others. We literally had to ask for EVERYTHING! If you enjoy a nice party vibe this is definitely the place to stay! If you're looking to enjoy quiet evenings this is truly NOT the place for you! The parties don't end until after midnight and you can still hear the music in your room no matter what side of the hotel you book. Overall, we had a nice time and the hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating.
- 5/5
Loved the staff. Made the experience that much better.

The property is very old. I’m not sure what they renovated. Overpriced and the staff are not helpful. The room itself is very uncomfortable with very low water pressure from the showers and sink no furniture or places to put your luggages on. Shower drained on the entire bathroom floor when you take a shower bathroom floor is made of old cement and the bedroom area is an old linoleum.. tourist beware of restaurants having mandatory add on 20% on your restaurant bills for Miami Beach area. No parking the hotel will charge $50 a night and also a resort fee for what the resort fee I have no idea what for. Very poorly managed.
- 3/5
Old. But the bathroom was clean. I asked the front desk for a taxi, and she ordered an all black suv. To the airport $65. She hustled me. I should have caught a uber for $28.
- 4/5
Con: My room was next to the elevator and the exit doors. There's got to be a way to adjust those doors to close softly. Those patrons didn't attempt to try to close the doors softly and I didn't sleep peacefully as a result. Hotel management, please consider adjusting the doors to not slam so loudly Great hotel otherwise!
- 5/5
Staff was super attentive!
- 3/5
Room was pool view even though we booked an oceanfront room, and got that confirmed. No fridge in the room, which was disappointing. Valet attendants on Saturday early evening were not polite. Overall, stay was average
- 3/5
My room wasn’t so great the toilet was positioned awkward, the bathroom sliding doors were off track and in the food area was very expensive and they wanted you to pay your bill first in order to receive your food that’s Horrible Service never in my life experienced that.
- 4/5
Great location helpful team
- 5/5
Clean room.., loved that it was on the strip!! Had a great view of the pool!!
- 5/5
Staff was helpful and assisted with anything needed. Fun environment great food and drinks.
- 4/5
Great hotel amenities, delicious food and drinks, nice staff. Overall had a great experience would definitely visit again during summer months less rain to enjoy all they have to offer.
- 5/5
No wash clothes than that it was good
- 2/5
The bathroom shower was terrible and flooded the entire bathroom floor.
- 3/5
My husband & I stayed in room 317. We liked having a corner room with views on 2 sides. It is an accessible unit so it was bigger than most Miami rooms. The bed sunk in the middle. The TV was very tiny. The shower sprinkled water. The other shower head’s water barely came out. The vent above our bed was dirty. It was hard to adjust the a/c in the room. There was a stench in the hall way. The hotel has 2 elevators.
- 5/5
Joel was very helpful too!
- 2/5
This hotel doesn’t look like 4Star hotel, it’s looks like 2Star hotels.
- 2/5
The price is high compared to the room.
- 5/5
The property was right there in all the action. Fully stocked bar and multiple options for food.
- 5/5
Clean, nice, party at your feet and rooftop.
- 1/5
They have no time for good customer service they all want tips
- 4/5
Bar was well stocked.
- 5/5
Is a great place to stay. I'll coming back next time.
- 4/5
Great location
- 1/5
Noisy until 4am every night , bad service, no microwave or refrigerator on the room, the room is too small and the bathroom inside the room
- 4/5
The resort was ok, needs to be renovated. The rooms were extremely small compared to other hotels, I’ve stayed in recently. We enjoyed the bar area but thought the pools were small and outdated. Enjoyed the cocktails, food, and music. It had a nice crowd and we enjoyed the nightlife there. I would not consider this a beachfront property as the beach was across the street and did not have any lounge chairs or amenities on the beach that were provided by the hotel. The staff however were extremely pleasant and helpful, definitely the positive side of the stay. Great location, restaurants, bars, and stores were all in walking distance.
- 5/5
Front desk service was excellent
- 5/5
Staff was very nice and the nightlife was amazing.
- 5/5
Great hotel with excellent service. We were very pleased with our stay.
- 1/5
I want to express my gratitude to Valerie at the front desk for her excellent customer service and to Charlie from Valet Parking for his outstanding assistance. Their efforts made our stay more enjoyable despite the unsatisfactory conditions of the hotel. Unfortunately, the state of the rooms was extremely disappointing. The mattresses were worn out and uncomfortable, and we encountered issues with the televisions, requiring a maintenance call at midnight that ultimately led to a room change. After moving to a new room, we were shocked to find blood on one of the comforters. This was completely unacceptable, and I do not plan to stay at this hotel again. And they kept my incidental deposit ..
- 4/5
2nd time at the Clevelander. Love it and will be back.
- 5/5
Everything from check in, to our stay & food/drinks, to check out was absolutely wonderful! The staff at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. They were so welcoming and friendly Which is always appreciated. The staff at the bar/restaurant were all so amazing & the food was delicious which made everything better. I love how close it is to the beach and that they give you towels to use. Would stay here again!
- 1/5
Oceanfront room was not clean and there was no hot water. Host moved us to the Essex house suite which viewed the street. Had to walk up the stairs with heavy luggage.
- 5/5
So close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
- 5/5
Room very clean and staff was very friendly
- 4/5
Location is great!
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
Love it
- 2/5
I would like to start with the front desk personnel, they were very polite and accommodating. We wanted to check in early and the allowed us to with no issues. Once we get to the room we realized we were assigned a handicap room, which was really inconvenient when showering, the water will wet all of the floor in the bathroom. We choose this hotel because we heard so many things about the party night life. But while we were there the party was dead, so we choose to go to sleep early, which became an inconvenient when our room was on top of the DJ playing music until 4am, that was really annoying while trying to sleep. The cleanliness of the bathroom was not to good, it almost felt like I needed shower shoes. Overall, it was not the best experience for the cost, the hotel is outdated and not the party scene they try to make people see. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would not be returning.
- 4/5
Staff was excellent
- 5/5
We loved everything about this place. Only thing negative was why are my beach chairs a half a mile from my hotel?!!!
- 4/5
Hotel stay and staff were good. The only concern was low water pressure and limited hot water. It’s an older building but could use some renovation.
- 3/5
Great hotel but staff need to more friendly for 3 I had no air in room very hot uncomfortable
- 4/5
Stay was great.. A little upgrade could be done with outside decor and a little bit more shower pressure
- 5/5
This place has the best staff I have ever seen! Right from check in we were treated like royalty. We got an early check in (for free) and an upgraded room (also free)! The resort fees are definitely worth it! We usually go to Vegas and are used to getting nothing for resort fees. Just the 2 chairs per day at the beach saved us anywhere from $60-100 each day as chair rentals on the beach are very pricey. We got multiple free drinks (not just on check in)! The room was very clean spacious for us (we had a corner room with balcony). You could tell the property was a bit older but well maintained! It can definitely be loud on Friday and Saturday nights as the pool bar is right below the ocean front rooms. We found the AC fan drowned out the noise well and we also always travel with a small fan. The area was perfect and steps away from the beach (although the chairs are about a 10 minute walk down the beach to the supplier the hotel deals with). Very safe area with lots of restaurants and stores. We will be coming back often!! Thanks for an incredible stay! Also have to give a shoutout to Michelle who checked us in and out. She is a huge reason our trip was so amazing!
- 3/5
dj for the night party was booty buttcheeks. no fridge? in miami? okay. our balcony door wouldn’t stay closed unless it was locked. in miami? okay. that being said, the bed? comfy as hell.
- 5/5
I liked my view of yhe ocean from my room.
- 2/5
The location of this hotel can’t be beat and the staff was incredible; they were extremely friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the hotel itself really needs updating; the AC can’t keep up with the Miami heat, the carpets are old and smelly, and the pool was super gross looking; we actually ended up paying for a pool day pass at another hotel to avoid using the one at Clevelander.
- 5/5
This is the perfect hotel if you're planning on coming to South Beach to party all night! The staff are fantastic, and the room was beautiful. But if you're here for work, or need to get to sleep early every night I would stay at a different hotel. Their bar/restaurant is right outside the window of the majority of the rooms and plays very loud music until like 4 AM. It's like that on the majority of the main strip on Ocean Dr. On South Beach, so if that's what you're looking for, this place truly is perfect.
- 1/5
The only great thing about this hotel is the location, other than that, it is a serious downgrade to the area.
- 3/5
Room was difficult to find. Had to cross a patio to locate my room, which no one had informed me about. Patio was supposed to have a little pool but it was dry and the chairs to lay out were old and dirty. Hidden fees at check out.
- 4/5
Hotel did some improvements since the last time we we're there 3yrs. ago we stayed three days love the location and we party all night 🍾🍸🎉👍
- 5/5
Everything was great, from the staff front desk, to the hotel events, to the convenience of the location for others events to get to.
- 5/5
Loved Everything! I plan to stay at the hotel every time I visit Miami!
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay there. Everything is in walking distance beach, restaurants etc. Can’t wait to go back!
- 3/5
The room was small with no desk and bar fridge. You have to ask for a fridge which just sits on the floor. The staff however were nice and accommodating.
- 4/5
It was in the heart of all the action.
- 5/5
Staff is absolutely amazing. I’ve stayed in South Beach many times. This was first time at the Clevelander. I will absolutely stay here again. Michelle was so friendly, positive and accommodating. Carlos checked me in as was so welcoming. Kristy was equally wonderful. Looking forward to my next visit here. I will book a room a little back from the pool. Our room was right above and we could hear the music. It wasn’t a dealbreaker. Our suite was perfect for our stay.
- 2/5
The walls between rooms are paper thin, you hear everyone and everything. It was Sunday morning and the housekeeper was vacuuming for a solid hour straight which was miserable for us. The free croissant and coffee is only up til 10am and what you get tastes old like it was left out from the days prior. Beach towels are absolutely tiny - fit for a child. No one helps you with your luggage. Area-wise, it’s quite rowdy and not the best (lots of guys cat calling you/druggies). Overall, do not recommend. You can find much nicer places.
- 5/5
next to all the nite life
- 1/5
The hotel smells really bad! The rooms are very small, beds uncomfy & smells horrible. Unsafe
- 1/5
The hotel smells really bad. Guys hang out on the front door step all night harassing guest. The rooms smelled horrible and are very small. The door lock didn’t work at all.
- 3/5
I liked the convenience, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable to me.
- 4/5
Mani and Michelle were great! Very attentive and answered all our questions. I also really liked the location
- 1/5
Terrible beds, smell bad and feel like was too old
- 2/5
This was a girls trip. The rooms are very small like micro small. When we asked for new wash clothes we were given hand towels each time and there’s a service fee! The bathroom room is literally 2 inches from the beds with a sliding door. No room amenities which that is my fault for not checking first. It’s definitely just equipped to shower and get out of the room. The staff were friendly and greeted you each time and they try to bring what you asked for but there was a few times no one spoke English which made it hard to communicate.
- 5/5
Great staff, very informative and nice! Rooms were clean and cute! Will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Great customer service loved the rooftop
- 4/5
Close to the beach, ocean dr for leisure walk, stores, excellent night vibes.
- 3/5
No air conditioning, room was too small for 2 people.
- 5/5
Great perks ask the front desk
- 5/5
Great place to stay and close to everything!
- 5/5
Safe
- 5/5
Will recommend and will visit again
- 5/5
Bed was great, hotel was great!!
- 1/5
This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. First off, the room was tiny—basically the size of a bathroom. The air conditioner only worked for 2 nights out of my 5-night stay. The closet door literally broke off the hinge. I reported both issues to two different staff members, and not one of them did a thing or even followed up. Completely unprofessional. The pool? Absolutely disgusting—filthy, tiny, and clearly neglected. It looked nothing like the photos on the booking site. In fact, nothing looked like the pictures. This place is extremely misleading and feels like a bait-and-switch. I booked this trip expecting a relaxing, comfortable experience, but instead got stuck in a dump with zero accountability from staff. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and stay far away.
- 5/5
The entire stay I enjoyed every day and night and any request they would try there best to accommodate you.
- 3/5
Prime SOBE area, if your looking for lots of excitement and no sleep, this is the place to be. Rooms very small.
- 5/5
Nice party vibes
- 5/5
I like the old school vibes, would stay again!
- 2/5
Now for opportunities for improvement. The AC in the building and particularly our room was angry, like the devil himself had taken up residency and started monkeying with the controls. Facilities was called on day 1, which we returned to a cool room- hoping that was that. The next day, we woke up uncomfortably and in pools of sweat. Ew. It hit up to 80 in our room. Being that the property was having issues, we did decide to move to another resort with proper working facilities. The staff- again- was super helpful and accommodating in our decision. The property would benefit from ensuring proper routine maintenance is completed, cleanliness of the lobby and pool/club side bathrooms is addressed (cleaned and stocked) regularly, and ensuring there are stocked items (like cups for the free coffee in the lobby). As a heads up- the pool is in the club area of the hotel, and 1/2 of it appears to be covered by a dance floor. It’s really not inviting if you want a pool to relax in, unless that’s your thing. Appreciate the experience and the team members we worked with, but will not stay again.
- 5/5
The only lil problem was just their complimentary drink was a kiddie sized blue slushee that they said had liquor but it tasted like a 7/11 slushee lol
- 2/5
I had to get down and go directly and ask the valet directly, which meant we had to wait 20 to 25 min.
- 3/5
Average. Not great. Not terrible
- 4/5
Just average
- 5/5
The property was great, I love the location but most of all I love how the staff was so personable. This might me my new Miami spot!
- 2/5
The television and remote did not work. On the last night, the cable service had an interruption. The air condition was not fully working and the room felt humid and moist for the entire trip. The room windows overlooking the pool were dirty and the pool was dingy as well. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Most of the front desk clerks were professional, welcoming, and attentive. The location of the hotel to other restaurants and the beach was a plus.
- 3/5
It was oh ok.. it’s party hotel…
- 5/5
Good customer service
- 3/5
One thing I didn't like I paid for a ocean view balcony and got a view of the pool and no Ocean view.
- 2/5
Great Location, very run down property though and noisy, old and dated rooms.
- 5/5
The front desk persons were awesome.
- 3/5
It was so close to everything, the staff was very nice and helped us with all our needs. I would recommend this for anyone with a quick 2 to 3 days stay.
- 5/5
i loved the environment and all of the hospitality workers were so accommodating and sweet will def be back
- 5/5
Good treatment
- 5/5
Seemed out dated, rooms were very small. Bathroom was 2 feet from the bed. Sink faucet was on the brink of breaking. As I was checking in a guest was coming down to complain about his room. Location is perfect but that’s what you pay for.
- 4/5
In the heart of it all.
- 1/5
Room service
- 5/5
As a solo traveler I’ll always stay at the Clevelander because it’s safe and near everything if you want the most live South Beach experience.
- 5/5
Very nice loved everything about this place staff are super nice helpful. Good
- 3/5
Great location
- 5/5
This property is in the direct middle of Ocean Boulevard. It has the most lively outside bar with a pool a DJ booth a few bars and no cover. I would advise to bring earplugs though because the music does go real late. Other than that the staff was really nice and welcoming. We had a late flight the last day we were there. They held our bags till 5 PM till we had to leave which I thought was really nice for no charge. I would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Was charged for my stay twice. Paid for my stay prior to the dates I was going to stay at the hotel.
- 3/5
Loved the location which is why we booked there. Was really unhappy when air conditioning went out. We got moved to Essex.
- 4/5
The property was nice. The room was just freezing and the thermostat wasn’t easy to navigate
- 4/5
Loved myvstay
- 5/5
Love it there
- 4/5
Parking sucked. Free beach chairs, but u had to pay for an umbrella. Didnt make much sense. And it was a far walk
- 3/5
Made us check in late. The hotel allowed a late check out when i had reservation.
- 5/5
The people and everything
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful
- 5/5
Great Stay
- 3/5
I like that the property was on Ocean Drive near the beach I didn't like that they didn't let you sit at a table on Fridays or Saturday night without buying anything and you're a guest at the property I didn't like that also didn't like how much the food and drinks cost at the property I didn't like that they offer you beach chairs and umbrellas but it was like nine blocks away from your hotel that you would have to go to to get them and if you're like nine Vegas Las Vegas blocks so you already know if you ever been to Vegas how long I block is
- 3/5
The rooms are so damn small barely could walk around
- 5/5
Pleasant front desk staff
- 3/5
I loved the location and that it was a party everday and night. The hotel rooms are ugly slate gray and white made me feel like i was in a cell. They did not have a table in case you wanted to eat in your room. The room was dirty and the cleaning person was terrible, did not clean the bathroom, remove garbage, or clean the floors. The room was cery small and did not have a space for you to put on make up. Just a bed and one chair, that was dirty. I felt safe as its in a very busy area. The front door locks after 10 with key only access and the elevator is key only. The pool is very small and thete is only one. They have other areas they dont use makjng downstairs very crowded.
- 5/5
Nice property with great customer service
- 1/5
I booked a VIP suite with the balcony and paid for it for $360 and then when I got to the hotel supposedly it was double booked and they gave me a different hotel room which had no fridge. No nothing. Just a TV and a bed super small. I wouldn't recommend this place
- 1/5
Dirty rooms workers were rude no tv no draws ro put clothes i. No tables and chairs to eaat on ro noisy service was awful the hotel sucked i will never stay again
- 1/5
Property has no pool for guest use only. The pool is in the bar area that blast music until 4 am most days. Hard to get any sleet at this hotel. The bar area has security that will not even let you get to your room without a full pat down and review of all your bags. This is more of a bar than a hotel.
- 3/5
That said, I did feel it was important to share some honest feedback about the condition of the hotel itself. Unfortunately, the room felt quite run down, with visible signs of mold, no refrigerator, and overall not reflective of the images or expectations set online. While I understand that wear and tear can happen over time, the discrepancy between the photos and the actual experience was disappointing. I hope this feedback helps.
- 3/5
Pictures look great on Expedia but felt like it’s been run down. We stayed in room 415 and while the bed and view was amazing however the shower completely sucks! The bathroom is definitely needing some major work.
- 2/5
My partner left her wallet in the safe and we have tried multiple times to get it back but we have not received a response. I’m guessing the cleaning staff found it and said nothing.
- 3/5
Location was great, but this place needs upgrading. The pool was not welcoming, no where to relax around pool. Just had dining tables around it. Lobby and elevators too old, no hot tub, long walk for beach chairs!
- 2/5
While the front desk was amazing, this hotel just lacks a lot of the essentials. We were warned by the noise based on the reviews by previous customers, it would have been ideal for the hotel to provide a pair of ear plugs at the minimum. There were three of us staying in one room and eventually ran out of toilet paper, we asked for one and never received it - thankfully there was a cart outside our room as housekeeping was around so we grabbed one from there. We also asked for an extra towel and we never received that either so we just didn’t bother asking again and just used the beach towel that we had from earlier in the day. The room we were in didn’t have very many mirrors and none outside of the bathroom which made it challenging to get ready (especially with three women sharing one room). A desk would have been nice as well. This hotel needs major improvement.
- 5/5
I love stay especially the morning shift front desk Mitchell is the best
- 1/5
The property is not for families but for adults over 21. Our daughter could not use the pool because she was only 18. Very loud until 1:00am every morning. Unable to sleep and the rooms are so small you can barely turn around.
- 4/5
Carlos, Michelle and staff were amazing!
- 4/5
Great hotel for the middle of South Beach. The property feels worn out but was okay for a pre cruise stay. Love the proximity to Versace Mansion for dinner!
