One of the awful experiences ever…

Very clean, near the main events at the beach. Pricing was good.

The property is located in a very convenient area near shops restaurants and stores. The room was fairly clean. There was hair in the sink and shower. There is no ice available on the property.

The room was clean and well-maintained, but it was extremely small and overpriced for the space provided. Housekeeping was inadequate, with the room cleaned only once during our four-day stay, and the shower drain was clogged, causing water to stagnate while bathing; the issue was fixed only the next day after being reported. The walls were not soundproof, and noise from neighboring rooms was constantly audible. The iron was also in poor condition and left black residue that could stain clothes. Other than the location, the overall experience was disappointing.

Friends lived across street & recommended. We were on 2nd floor Didn’t know to ask for 1st as we-had trouble with steps as we are older. Also, was not able to adjust room to best cool. I would have liked access to Ice. Beach chairs were nice. Not enough hangers or hooks for clothes

Beautiful property in a great location, only downfall is there is no elevator to the second level making it difficult with luggage. Plus the noise of guest coming up and down the stairs although ear plugs are provided

Super close to the beach, AC gets super cold which was great - we got there a little earlier than check in and were able to leave our bags there. The room was pretty small but i genuinely don’t mind bc im there just to sleep. The only thing i have to say is YES the walls are very thin you can hear everyone’s convo but im a heavy sleeper so again i dont really care plus they had complementary earplugs on the nightstands which i thought was funny. Overall a pretty good hotel for not a crazy price especially in miami beach!

Location on a quieter part of Ocean drive. Walls extremely thin in the hotel. Could hear people walking around both to the side and above. You could hear someone sneeze in the other room. Room. Very very small room compared to the square footage and images online. Absolutely no furniture to put your suitcases on to unpack. Bathroom was not particularly clean, there was sand on the floor and baseboards. Shower water pressure was terrible.

The room had a weird smell upon entering, such a sour smell. The room had so many ants everywhere (specifically on the sink). It was really annoying. The bathroom ceiling was leaking. We were there for 3 nights and these things just made the entire experience inconvenient. It was just an okay experience. The staff were very friendly. The location is very convenient as the beach was nearby and all the shops were conveniently located. I don’t think i’d stay there again tho!

This was the unfortunately the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. The room was too small and the walls were so thin. I could not sleep because of next room’s conversation.

Had bugs

We had alot of ants in our room and bathroom. They crawled on my girlfriend when she was asleep. They only give you two towels, and there is no availability for any more. Upon asking the front desk for towels, we where refused any extra. We had only 2 towels for 3 days and it was very uncomfortable considering we are in Miami and at the beach. We stayed 4 nights and our room was cleaned once. We will never come here again.

This is a perfect place for those who want to be close to the beach. The hotel is spotless and generally very pleasant; there isn’t much in the way of amenities but if you just want to be close to the beach and in a great neighborhood it’s an excellent option.

Couldn't see thw beach from room

Great location. Easy walking distance to restaurants and beach. Art deco style building. Small room. We could hear people talking in next unit. Kept us awake both nights. They were not yelling just talking at a normal level but it sounded like they were in our room.

Only negative was the paper thin walls.

For the price, you cannot find a better property in South Beach

I booked this stay through hotels.com and NOT through the hotels website, so this review is based on booking through hotels.com. I never visited or looked at the hotels website. There was false and inaccurate information on hotels.com regarding payment at this property. The booking I made was a pay later booking and my confirmation clearly stated that I would not be charged until my stay. This was incorrect. I was charged a couple of hundred dollars a month before the stay that I was not expecting. The final payment was then taking about a week before the stay. I raised this issue with hotels.com when the initial payment was made. The first staff member I spoke with didn't understand what the issue was regarding the false and misleading advertising and recommended that I cancel the booking, leave a review on the hotel website and speak to the hotel directly. It took over an hour going around in circles to finally speak with someone else who actually understood that the information regarding payment on hotels.com in relation to this property was incorrect. They informed me that they would have this information changed in order to accurately reflect the hotels policy regarding payment. It was a poor situation which shows lack of communication between hotels.com and the property. Regarding the hotel, the shower water pressure was poor and took time for hot water. Otherwise everything else was fine. A full size fridge, comfortable bed & clean room. Great location & pleasant staff

Clean room. Pretty plain decor, expected more in line w the art deco look. Room and hallway smelled heavily of strong disinfectant for several hours. Great location. More of an AirBnB than a hotel.

Our priorities were food, sleep and beach. This hotel was so comfortable, but very very basic. So if you are looking for pampering, room service and amenities, this isn’t it. Our bed was lovely, rooms spotless, gorgeous shower, and mostly very quiet. We had upstairs neighbors who walked a mile overnight lol

If you are looking for bare bones, clean, safe place to sleep- this is it. There is someone to greet you, but otherwise it’s an unmanned hotel. You get a code to get in and out, no room keys. The only amenities is a beach chair with your room, you still have to pay for an umbrella, but for the price of the room based off location alone it’s perfect. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beach, coffee next door, beautiful dinner and bar 1 space and 2 spaces down. We will absolutely return, and would stay at other casa properties.

the pillows on the bed are very very thick and hard. was very uncomfortable. i didnt ask the staff to change them so i dont know if they were open for that, i didnt have time to request it to be fixed. the hot water does take a bit to come, but i didnt find that too unconvenient as i noticed it and i was letting it flow some time ahead of my shower.

In the end, we wasted $27 for barely 10 minutes of storage, not to mention the effort of carrying suitcases and backpacks several blocks in the heat. Once in the room, there was barely any space to open our suitcases. It got cold at night, but the AC had no heat, and I ended up catching a cold. The main light was broken and kept turning on and off throughout the night, and we could clearly hear conversations from both neighboring rooms, making it difficult to sleep. There was also no complimentary bottled water, which you would normally expect from a standard hotel. On the positive side, the location is excellent, beach chairs and towels are included, and the female staff member we interacted with was friendly.

The location is good and the front desk lady is very nice. They also have a water bottle filler. If you want to rest please avoid this hotel. The walls are paper thin where you can hear EVERYTHING that the people next room are talking about as if they were in your room plus their TV. Also you can hear EVERYTHING from the corridor and from the toilets next to your room at any time during the night. Housekeeping also makes a lot of noise from early in the morning.

Also, there was opportunity for early check-in that allowed for us to quick and timely settling in without issues. The lobby area was large and allowed for my team and our models to meet us in a central location to head out for our productions. It was very convenient. We look forward in staying with Casa Ocean again!

The staff were amazing the location perfect and the hotel was lovely The only fault is how thin the walls are between rooms. We could hear every word spoken next door. Even could hear the snoring from next door. Such a shame as it would rate 10 out of 10 otherwise.

The walls are unbelievably thin — you can hear full conversations, TVs, doors slamming, footsteps, everything. It felt like we were sharing our room with total strangers. There was zero privacy and absolutely no chance of getting a peaceful night’s sleep. There’s also no proper heat in the rooms for when it gets cold, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Not being able to control the temperature is unacceptable, especially when you’re paying for a hotel expecting basic comfort. The room itself was extremely small — once our luggage was inside, there was barely space to move. It felt cramped and nothing like what was advertised. What really pushed this experience over the edge, though, was the cleanliness. The room was dirty when we arrived. There were pubic hairs in the bathroom and toothpaste still left in the sink. It clearly had not been properly cleaned before we checked in, which is absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the staff was extremely rude and dismissive. Any concerns we brought up were brushed off like they didn’t matter. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt like we were inconveniencing them. Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Between the noise, lack of heat, tiny dirty room, and terrible customer service, I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

The location is great that’s prob the best thing ab the hotel. The comforter had blood stains and it took them almost all day to come change it. I had also let the cleaning lady know that the bathroom window was broken and it was making the room smell wet and moldy and she never sent maintenance. The guy in the front was also kinda rude and not welcoming when you’d ask him for something. Other than that it wasn’t so bad for the price and location

Location was amazing, but the room itself was not pleasant. I only stayed for one night and the worst part was a massive cockroach that I had to kill. As well as a faint scent of urine throughout the suite, I then found splashes of urine still on the restroom floor and yellow splashes still on the toilet seat that I had to clean myself in order to use. In addition, I don't believe the sheets were changed because there was quite a bit of hair already on and in the bed sheets upon arrival. I travel often and never write reviews, but this was rough.

The staff are friendly and very helpful, rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The location is great, just far enough off of the main strip of ocean drive that you don’t hear all the noise but close enough that you’re super close to the beach and the restaurants. As I did not give 5-stars because the walls were so poorly insulated for soundproofing that we could hear everything from the room next door to us. Also, while it was a clean smell, too many chemicals are used in the facility, very over powering (could also be an airfreshener) but it was in the lobby and the room, very very strong. Overall though, if you’re okay with noise form the neighbours this is a good place to stay and reasonably priced!

Very close to the beach. The lady at the frond desk was super helpful and amazing You can literally hear everyone outside. It’s a good thing non of the guest were noisy. Not the biggest issue but still something i did not like. I am did not like the shower. The pressure was too low and it took a long time to drain

If you want a budget stay this is your place. AC not reliable. Sheets don’t stay in place on mattress. Mattress old. Machine pumps scent into air that is overwhelmingly strong in common areas. Our room smelled musty. Price is right. If you want anything other than a room you will not get it. No freezer for medicine when needed. No baggage hold. No recommendations for area. Room only. Nothing extra.

Location was great, but windows are thin and noise level from the street is high. Water pressure was awful in the shower. Bed was very comfortable and check in was easy. Over priced, but it was NYE on Ocean Dr so to be expected I guess.

Very close to everything, the beach was over a block or so, it was nice a new experience but we had small ants along the window and floor, they couldn’t get rid of them, no storage for clothes and no real night-stands

Restaurants a block area with many options. Overnight parking must walk 4-5 blocks but easy to locate and fees reasonable.

I stayed 3 nights and learn again that never book non refundable hotels as usually it could be a problem one and you have no escape. I had 3 miserable nights of no sleep pretty much due to hotel noise as it was no walls there at all. Its the most noisy hotel I ever stayed, this building should not br a hotel , maybe offices or night club, but not a hotel because no rest at this place or you have to be dead sleep person to stay there. Overall it was clean and service was great.

The beds were comfortable the room was clean sometimes it was easy to get a hold of customer service We did not get towels And we could not request extra. The mattress overhung the box spring and i kept falling off the bed. The level of understanding of English was very low

The location is great! It is very basic, but that's all you really need. The ONLY thing I had issue with at all is that you could NOT adjust the thermostat - it was locked - and it was set way too cold, so I was freezing most of the time.

Everything was great, super close to the ocean drive and all the shops / restaurants, the beach is very close. The only problem was that they lost power once for the whole day (I guess it is not property’s fault, but just was not great) so we couldn’t use the light / charge phones in the room.

Perfect location, in a quieter area but 5 mins walk from the more lively bars and restaurants. Conveniently located very close to the beach and sun beds included - room was clean and spacious enough. Very spacious fridge but would have liked more space for clothes as there is only a small hanging area. Also the room is only cleaned and towels changed every other day. But overall good

Property was clean and check in was easy and efficient. Housekeeping is every other day and I was given a difficult time with a request for extra towels. They only provide two clean towels in the room which is not enough. Even upon asking for more they just repeated that housekeeping only comes every other day despite not asking for additional service. Eventually they did provide two more but frankly that simple of a request shouldn’t have been that difficult. I was willing to take them to the room myself! This will be the reason I will not stay here again.

Location. The bad: The bedding was filthy and clearly had not been changed prior to our arrival. The staff was miserable. They lie to your face when it’s convenient for them. The walls have no sound dampening and you Hearn every single thing from the surrounding rooms. It was a terrible overall experience.

Overall, it was wonderful! They were very accommodating and friendly! The place was very clean. The perfume smell in the lobby was overpowering, but she unplugged the diffuser machine at least. She also helped me open the windows in our room so the smell significantly dissipated. The walls were so thin that it sounded like elephants above us. BUT it never lasted that long, so we were able to fall asleep. Also the room was quite bright during the night because of the light from the building next door! The place is a short walk to the beach and in a quiet part of SoFi.

From what I thought, this was going to be perfect, it was priced reasonably, not far from the show I was attending and it was right on the beach. If I had read more of the reviews, I would not have picked this hotel because the reviews were VERY TRUE. When you enter the lobby, there is a very noticeable, strong air freshener smell. Once we were given the code to our room, we entered to find a spider in the bed. Ask the front desk person to change the pillow cases and he did right away. I understand, that things like that can happen, but the mildew smell made things worse. The room smelled wet, and the humidity was definitely high in the room even thought the air was set to 68. We didn't stay long when we first arrived, just long enough to shower and change clothes. But when we arrive back at the hotel that evening, the smell was unbearable. It was literally blowing from the air duct in the room, and that is mold. I am a licensed Mold Assessor, so I know exactly what I am talking about. There was no one when we returned in the evening, so I sent a message through Expedia (which is how I booked the room). No response until almost 1am, just to say that I can speak with someone the following morning. We barely slept. Literally sleeping with our faces under the covers due to the smell, even questioning ourselves if we thought it was safe to stay until the next day. We checked out once we woke up. I would not recommend staying here. Especially in room 102!

The location can't be beat. South of Fifth so everything is walkable and easy to navigate without the noise of Miami Beach. The hotel is very loud and the walls are super thin. You can hear the guests staying next to you and there was construction every single day at the hotel.

My stay at Casa Ocean was due to a booking mix up at another hotel. I was able to get a last minute booking and was greeted warmly on my arrival. The location was excellent and an easy walk to restaurants, shops, cafes and the beach. The room was comfortable and had all I needed. I would stay there again.

Well, I’m old fashioned and I like a smiling face when I walk into my hotel. I rarely saw anybody. Also, it would have been nice if they had an ice machine and parking. Looks as if the hotel would validate your parking. Last time I was in Miami Beach the parking was free in front of the hotel. This time I got a ticket for $33. Smh. Door on the refrigerator should be changed to open in the opposite direction. 5 minute fix. For the money, it was a good place to crash out. Most likely won’t stay again. I need a little more fluff.

Lots of construction going on, smelled like STRONG chemicals and paint and there was brown paper all over the floors because of the construction, hammering and drilling early in the morning. rooms were nice, clean, and would probably be MUCH better after construction finishes. Staff was wonderful!

The property was under some type of construction which we were not aware about, i had to reach out for my codes to get as they did not send 24hrs prior as mentioned on website.

The walls are so thin you can even hear normal conversations from nearby rooms and phone rings. This goes far beyond normal guest noise and reflects a severe lack of soundproofing. The stairs and hallways were messy and covered with paper due to wall painting/renovation?/construction?, which was not disclosed at booking. On Monday morning, construction noises and workers slamming doors woke us up. The rooms do not have a safe. We were forced to carry passports and credit cards to the beach with no secure storage option. Additionally, on the second day when we returned from breakfast, we found out that our room’s door PIN code was changed without our notification. When we asked, we were told that they do this for “housekeeping access” knowing that we did not get any cleaning services as room cleaning was only offered every 3 days which is unreasonable for a beachfront property where guests track in sand daily. The trash was not even emptied unless requested… and the list goes on!

Location! Smells good. Let us keep our luggage safe until we did check out. I couldn’t get extra towels. 2 times that I asked out from 3 nights. The property under construction (I wasn’t aware of it until I got there).

Great location, ideal for 1-2 people, walking distance from anything. However, I did not have any hot water during my stay, nor did my sister in her room. Hot water was only available in the middle of the night when no showers or laundry was running.

I try to always leave positive reviews but unfortunately this one is very difficult to find the positives for Casa Ocean. We were a group of 7, consisting of 4 rooms. We checked in late and are very thankful for the gentleman that waited for our arrival. When entering my room the moldy smell hit us immediately. The gentleman agreed, stating something wasn’t right and was kind enough to move me into a new room, after requesting. My new room had hair EVERYWHERE - all over the clean towels, the shower, both the bathroom and bedroom floors, and on the bed - including under the comforter. I went back to the front desk however, the gentleman was gone, as I expected due to our late arrival. I sent an email to management and decided I had to unfortunately book a room nextdoor at the Balfour for the night. The next morning, I returned to Casa Ocean to further discuss my concerns and the lady running the front desk was extremely rude. Not only to myself but also a fellow guest who was requesting clean towels, stating the guest should’ve removed the “do not disturb” sign on their door that morning. All I asked is that my room be re-cleaned correctly this time. My room was cleaned again, although still not great. I eventually decided it was best I clean the room myself and purchased cleaning supplies from Target, along with bedding. Others in my group also expressed concerns with their rooms as well-dirty floors/beds. Positives-distance to beach. Cons-very dirty hotel.

The staff was excellent. They were very helpful and friendly.. our room was clean, but there was a terrible smell in the hallway and it was all the carpet was also dirty . looks like something leaked or spilled. This was on the second floor.

Very nice hotel and staff! It looks and smells so nice when you walk in. They come in to clean and bring new towels every 2 days. This hotel is right on the quieter section of Ocean Drive which I like because it’s within walking distance of everything. At night especially on the weekends Ocean Drive has a lot of loud action going on. This hotel is in the quieter section. I would recommend Casa Ocean!

They don’t have ice machine or microwave, we purchased ice from the store then we found out the refrigerator inside the room has no freezer. One night at 11:30 we want to have cup noodle because they don’t have microwave to heat leftover, we asked front desk for a fork; the front desk not even looking for it and told us they don’t have a fork.

This property was not advertised like it was on the booking site. The room was smaller than expected. The shower water pressure was ver low & the water was not hot. Walls are thin. Can hear everybody’s conversation above and next too room. Took forever too get extra towels. The amount of money spent on that hotel for the days that i got.. was not worth it . Awesome location and stay! However past reviews are true that staying on the bottom floor is a bit noisy… Down to I could hear when keys were placed on the table and parts of conversations. Thankfully I did have quiet neighbors otherwise. Also, the shower was one of this frustration showers without a door, which is fine; however, the height of the flooring is wayyy too short and therefore you’ll waste towels assuring the floor doesn’t stay wet. I consider myself a careful and super clean shower-er but still couldn’t keep the water in. Still, I could manage the shower if I get a second floor room since besides these two things the spot is super cute, clean and staff was awesome!

The hotel was nice for the one night we stayed there (we departedon a cruise the next day). It was difficult to find parking. But, you are able to park on the street after a certain time. The room was small, but clean and nice. My only complaint is the tv was broke, their was a line going across it, but it still worked. Also, the hotel lobby did have a weird smell when we arrived, that I did not care for, it was gone when we checked out in the morning. I took a star away for the smell and the tv. But, would book with this establishment again.

Our stay at the Casa Ocean was great!! The hotel was in a quite area of Ocean Drive but close enough to walk to the main action on Ocean Drive. The information to access the entry and our room was very easy. The rooms are simple but very clean. This is a great spot for a quick weekend getaway. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean. No / ZERO soundproofing. No late check out available - even with extra charge. Need to use lobby’s restroom between step at the beach and returning flight.

Decent hotel. No room service available to clean your rooms during the stay. Thin walls can hear everyone stomping around and talking. The AC was set at 75 however, was stuck freezing in the 60s all day and night. Shower would never get hot.

Description of property is somewhat misleading. Although facility looks nice there is definitely a lingering mildew smell that does permeate throughout, I booked a King size bed , why would it take up the majority of the room size ?? No room for eating or to unpack luggage , Bathroom wasn’t bad but honestly it’s just not enough space to be comfortable,

The only bad thing is that I messaged before my arrival and they told me I couldn’t leave my luggage there before checking in. But I actually found out that I could. So I paid luggage storage for no reason.

The location is excellent, very close to the fun of South Beach but not so close to be noisy. However, the amenities were lower than that of a Motel 6. There is no on site parking. When I called to enquire about the average cost of public parking, they were evasive. It turned out to be $80 per night, which is a significant hidden expense. Everything was clean, but the lobby is very spartan, and the coffee machine there actually requires a credit card to use. I'm always annoyed when there is only one chair in the room, so if you and your partner brings home takeout you have to take turns sitting down, or else eat on the bed. This is the kind of place you use only to crash for the night, and not for an extended stay.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel was very clean.

At the quieter end of Ocean Drive, 2mins to the beach, parking is difficult, I’d recommend the parking on 7th st. $20 for 24hrs. Rooms are small, fine for sleeping in and the bed was comfy, it was good value for money.

1) They advertised the room as 330 square feet. The room was barely half of that size, even including the bathroom. No closet, no place to put any clothes, you literally have to live out of your suitcase. 2) There was an odor of mold that was extremely strong and the hotel was trying to mask it with some other perfumed fragrance air freshener which made it worse. 3) On Saturday a guest on our floor decided to play music, I am guessing from their own speaker, at the highest level possible. Thia went on for 45 minutes and since there is no front desk coverage overnight, I wound up calling the police. 4) They clean the rooms every two days. Challenging to get any fresh towels, had to ask for soap, twice. Bring your own. 5) One front desk employee extremely rude when my wife was requesting more soap. One of the worst hospitality moments I have experienced. 6) It is close to the beach, about a 5 minute walk and they do provide two beach chairs. 7) It is walking distance to a lot of the restaurants South of 5th Street. Overall a horrible experience. Don't waste your money.

In a word, an olfactory disaster. They pump some sort of nasty air freshener through the AC system and the place reeks, a combination of ammonia and rotted fruit. We had to shut off the AC and open the windows to air out the room and eliminate some of the stench. They also pumped the lobby full of the same odor(not fragrance). Many people have a condition called vasomotor or non-allergic rhinitis, which is triggered by strong unnatural smells. Our noses were running and we were coughing. Could not stay in the building.

We stayed two nights and it was perfect until the second night when the room above us was very noisy for a few hours. Talking loudly, moving furniture, etc. at 1 a.m.

This is a bare bones property but the bed was comfy and the room had been recently renovated. There are no amenities but the price reflects that. The only problem is the smell that they pump into the lobby and hallways; it’s incredibly overpowering but after turning up the AC I couldn’t smell it in the room at all. Overall excellent value and an awesome location right across the street from a park and easy beach access. This area is much much quieter than the crazy party area that starts about 5 blocks north.

Why did you guys not use sound barrier in the walls ??? You can hear people watching TV , having sex like they are in our room , hearing conversations clearly . Its was unbelievable. Won’t go back just for that reason
