    Great location! Front desk staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. There were a couple of room issues that were not big deals but slight annoyances. The ice machine on our floor was not working so we had to get ice on the 2nd floor. The closet door in our room kept falling off the hinges, which was annoying when we accessed the safe and the iron. Those two issues were very minor considering the location and the price. There’s a cute cafe/coffee shop next door to the hotel that had great food and service - convenient for needs prior to the hotel restaurant opening. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel for a short weekend stay.

    Owned by Gloria and Emilio Esteban, the hotel, exudes, old world, Hollywood glamour and style. They did a wonderful job, keeping the beautiful art deco style along with incredible modern upgrades to the rooms, which are all white, clean, bright and welcoming Do your best to try to get an ocean facing room… The views are spectacular! We highly recommend this hotel🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    Location was great. Upon checkin we felt like a comforted guest but then after that no staff ever greeted us coming and going or acknowledged us. Air conditioning didn’t work well. Wouldn’t cool below 75 even after a maintenance tech worked on it. Hot water was scarce. It took 5 hrs to get a rollaway bed delivered because they said no one was on site to help. The elevator is small and dark and slow. No basic amenities like a microwave. But seriously, the AC doesn’t work.

    Incredible location right in the heart of action on Ocean Drive. The hotel is beautifully decorated and modern with hints towards the art deco heritage of the property. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - the bar underneath the hotel and courtyard are lovely spots to grab a drink or something to eat and take in the ambience. Really recommend staying here. It’s also the nicest smelling hotel I’ve ever visited! I’d say that it sits at the higher end of hotel pricing:quality of hotel, but I really can’t complain overall.

    The on-site restaurants were a plus and great service. With the beach across the street the beach chairs and towels came in handy. In great location for walking and parking garage right next door. Staff was very friendly. Check in and out was easy and quick. Clean rooms.

    Nice location but the hotel is tired. Bathrooms are kind of outdated, bed was just ok and AC was either freezing or you had to turn it off. Window blinds didn't quite shut all the way so light came in all night long.

    Excellent location and everything in South Beach within walking distance. Beautiful hotel bar/restaurant. Parking is an issue as with everything in South Beach unless you valet everywhere. We found a parking garage directly behind the hotel to house our rental car which was very convenient and cheaper than valet. The staff at check in even mentioned this option and he was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved the Cardoza and would stay there again.

    Always a fantastic stay at the historic Cardozo Hotel! Always clean, comfy and welcoming! Great schedule of activities, you’re welcomed with wine. The staff is kind and helpful! The coffee shop “Estefan Kitchen Express” features memorabilia from Gloria Estefan’s career. She is the owner of the hotel! What’s better than that?

    From the moment I arrived, the welcome bubbly was a great touch and set the tone for the stay. The hotel has direct beach access, which made it incredibly easy to go back and forth between relaxing in the room and enjoying the sand and water. The bar was another highlight—great atmosphere and the cocktails were well-crafted and memorable. It felt like the perfect spot to unwind after a day in the sun. Overall, a stylish and comfortable stay in a prime location. I’d definitely come back.

    Pros: front desk is very helpful & nice staff. Rooms were cleaned & towels were replaced everyday which was nice. Beach is close and they provide towels & chairs (chairs are pretty old & rusty). The restaurant is nice - the food is delicious, staff is so nice, and good vibes. You're paying for being on ocean drive, where u can enjoy the walk, the food, drinks, and people.

    Room Staff: Nice Room: Clean Room, but some flaws. Some towels have stained. Broken showerhead. Bathroom won't seal and some maintainance issue here and there. Location: In excellent location.     Excellent hotel stay! I am not sure where some of these negative reviews come from, but I think the Cardoza Hotel deserves a 5 star rating! First of all, ALL of the staff is truly amazing and very hospitable. I did not encounter a one unpleasant employee anywhere on the property. Service was top notch and very personalized. All of the hotel including the guest rooms and public areas were extremely well maintained and clean. The food and beverage options in house were also very good. The location cannot be beat. The air conditioning worked extremely well (rare in older hotels) as well as the wifi. I truly had no complaints at all during my stay. The free beach towels and beach chair as well as welcome cocktail / beverage is a nice added bonus! Yes the rooms are a bit on the smaller size and are "white" - but this is to be expected of a historical property catering to the local culture/atmosphere of the area - hence the "white" colored rooms. Yes, there is only one small elevator - bug again - this is a historical property! If you like staying in smaller quiet boutique style hotels - then this is the place for you! I highly recommend the Cardoza Hotel and am very excited to return. They have won me over as a repeat guest!

    The hotel has no heat at all. AC running 24/7 and it was unseasonably cold. The did not inform us that room could not be warmer. Their suggestion “just turn it off”. Asked for an extra blanket and they said we don’t have many and there are many guest. Whole attitude was “oh well”. Low effort for bare minimum requests. Had to call 3 times to get a blanket. Love the location and the little cafe next door. Restaurant is good. But will probably find a new place for our annual visit to South Beach.

Everything exceeded our expectations — the location is perfect, the Art Deco style is absolutely stunning, and the hotel itself has a unique historical charm.     I booked a queen room but was given a double, and the front desk wouldn’t fix it. The room had no thermostat—you have to call the front desk every time you want the temperature adjusted, which is very inconvenient. After housekeeping, the toilet broke (flush issue, not clogged). It took over 24 hours and multiple follow-ups to fix. Other problems included non-working bathroom lights, a shower door that wouldn’t close, and a fridge that leaked water when opened. Walls are very thin—you’ll hear everything (ice machine, garbage pickup, etc.). One night I was locked out of my room due to the deadbolt being engaged from inside, which was concerning as a solo traveler. Customer service was inconsistent, and other guests reported similar issues. Positives: great beach amenities, decent breakfast, and an unbeatable location. Overall, it feels like the hotel relies on location while cutting corners. With better maintenance and service, it could be much better—but right now, it’s not worth it. Also it is cheaper to book directly.

    Room was not cleaned (floor was full of sand, dirt and socks became black. Stray long hairs all over the place. Clearly was not swept or cleaned. Bathroom shower was broken, needed to get repaired. No hot water for half a day so we could not shower. Staff was not very helpful. FYI No microwave on the property.

    Position and the building were great. An essential overnight stop as flight cancelled at MIA and not many options available in the middle of the night as May flights affected. Room was tired, broken blinds and bright light outside. Had to ask reception to ask neighbours in room next door to quieten down at 5am so did not sleep at all well. Was a last minute booking.

    Beautiful hotel in South Beach Miami. I loved all the amenities they provided. The restaurant has VERY good food, some of the best food we had in Miami was at this location. My only complaint is the valet parking. Sometimes we waited 30 min for our car, only to still walk a couple of blocks to the parking garage where it was stored. While paying for valet is essential in this busy area of South Beach I’d recommend requesting your car 40 min in advance or know where your car is so you can walk to it. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay! Highly recommend

    The hotel is in an amazing location, and it is beautiful to look at from the road. The restaurant looks great, although we didn't eat there. The manager was extremely good at dealing with our complaint afterwards. There were several things not working, which we wouldn't have minded, had it not be so expensive. The manager gave us a significant refund however which certainly made up for the inconveniences.

    What a wonderful place. Beautiful building, super clean. Amazing friendly service. Perfect location. We couldn't ask for anything better. And considering how perfect it was, it was a bargain.     What a wonderful place. Beautiful building, super clean. Amazing friendly service. Perfect location. We couldn't ask for anything better. And considering how perfect it was, it was a bargain. When we checked in, Ama was super helpful and kind. Well, the entire staff was so great. Really a pleasure. HIGHLY recommend. I hope we can come back soon!!

    The room we had, king size bed with ocean view, there was a large Crack under the door connecting the room next door. You could easily hear everything going on in your neighbors room especially conversations. We have never stayed in a hotel that you could hear everything so easily. This was a issue.

    The room we booked via expedia was completely different set up than reality. The room we got felt smaller and had no vanity mirror, or place to do your makeup. Buyer beware that the photos that show the room are not accurate. They did move us to a room that had the layout we were expecting but had to wait and spend a night in the original room they gave us. The elevator did not work the whole time I was here. This means I had to walk up and down the stairs several times (even though staff told me the elevator would be fixed shortly). I even had to carry my luggage down 3 flights of stairs. One of the staff walked into our room without knocking. He literally just opened the door and walked in on me my partner taking a nap… as you can imagine, this situation could have been much much worse especially considering that there is a female staying in my room. We did not feel a sense of privacy or safety for the rest of the stay as a result of feeling that our door could be opened without notice at any moment. No ice in the ice machine. There were little ants in the room. Something should be done about that - I’ve never seen something like this in any premium hotel I have stayed in. All in all, I am disappointed with the quality of this stay, especially considering the price. Gave this 2 stars because the location is actually great and they do have the benefits of providing bikes, towels, and beach chairs.

    Location This was my second stay here. I stayed 02/2025, as well. It was 5 stars in 2025. I’d had likely gave 5stars the first stay. For $300-$400 a night plus deposit we will not return. Preface to say, there was a charming check in host in 2025 pre cruise that greeted us with a champagne toast to a wonderful night in Miami. He explained where/ how to get to the beach/around the hotel and all amenities. This stay was opposite. The young girl at the front did not great us with champagne or explain where anything was. We were told wait here until room is ready at 4 or you can go to the beach. Due to the previous stay is the only reason I knew they had beach chairs (one was broken and given to us this stay), towels, or how to access the beach. The room was clean and the location is amazing. The shower door was out of place and wouldn’t shut during my shower but my husband fixed it before his. (Aware we could have called but it was a quick off the track fix I couldn’t figure out during my shower) We had a VERY long day trying to get out of Port of Miami on marathon day that closed the port tunnel. We left the boat at 9am and got to this hotel at 3:38pm. None of this is in control of the hotel but I told my husband “at least we booked somewhere who is going to treat us like royalty.” This was not the case this stay. Hospitality can really make or break a stay.

    We had a fantastic time. Beautiful Hotel beautiful people, well looked after the receptionist was exceptional. They didn't cater well for Coeliacs. No GF bread, scones, or cake. But I survived. Something to think of keeping in the freezer and advertising as I was talking to a few with the same issue.

Next, when I arrived I was told to walk to another hotel and they had a reservation waiting for me at the ken more. Once, I arrived to the kenmore I was told they had no rooms. I waited 20 minutes and the front desk clerk finally gave me a room. I had to re/pay for the new room although I was charged already through expedia for a room I never occupied.

    The rooms are small but more importantly, the lack of cleanliness was definitely disappointing. Our original room was not cleaned, only the linens changed. Rust stains on the shower floor in all the rooms we checked out that just looked so gross. Water spots o the floor ext to the toilet was likely urine and the floors were very sandy. Also, visible black mold on the bottom of the ice bucket in every single room we visited as well as a musty/moldy odor in the rooms. We complained and was given another sub-par room - both rooms had no had soap in the bathroom dispensers, which had me grossed out thinking about all the surfaces touched by the unwashed hands of guests before us. How do you not check/refill hand soap dispensers? The manager was rude and dismissive and did not care about the lack of care or attention to cleanliness that affected our guest experience. I have a feeling all 3rd party booking guests may receive the same treatment. We had friends that booked direct - larger room and not as many issues, although they also had a moldy ice bucket. Beach chairs are also old and tattered. Don’t stay here. Pros - Location is great. Go for the onsite restaurant, Call Me Cuban Restaurant. The food and service at the restaurant are excellent. The hotel, not so much.

    It’s a cool looking hotel in a great location however. The bed is noisy, the AC is loud, the pillows are useless, the hot water is almost non existent (had to let run for 28 minutes before warm water made it there). If you are on the 2nd floor or lower, booming music until midnight. The front desk people were nice. Room was clean and bright. If you want rest, go somewhere else, if you are there for a great location, party and don’t care about sleep, this is your place.

    I do not recommend this hotel for many reasons. 1. Some days no hot water, half the time 5 minute wait to get warm water, but never gets really hot. 2. $40 resort fee added to your bill. They said that covered WIFI and bicycles 3. They have 5 bicycles. They said they are not rented often. The first hour is free, she then said that it is a $50/hour charge after that. You can rent bicycles from the CITI bike stands for $24 for the whole day and less per hour. 4. They charge you $100/day for incidentals, but will return money if inspection of room yields no damage. Mini bar items are charged to this, including a small bottle of water for $10.00. Everything is very expensive. 5. Front desk personnel do not welcome you when you enter. Playing with phone, working on computer, no one else there but you walking in or out. Most were young 20 year olds that had trouble understanding and speaking English 6. When I encountered workers in the hotel no one said hello or frankly smiled. 7. Windows dirty with paint on them (see pictures). Asked 5 times to get them cleaned. No action, no feedback, just crickets 8. Rooms very plain with blank walls. No pictures on the walls. 9. It is nice that they play music until after 1100 in front of the hotel. It is very loud. It is like living over a night club. Don’t get a room

    The hotel rooms are gorgeous however just to warn you it lasts the basic amenities that you get in Europe. No kettle for tea or coffee in the rooms, no hairdryer and not usb charging points.     N/A Did not honor my booking. They say they couldn't find it however, I'm quite sure they overbooked and then lied about my booking. I spoke with the property the day before to confirm my arrival and they confirmed they would be prepared. Essentially no issues with my booking were noted and the property stated they would make note of my needed accommodation on my booking (meaning they had my booking). Just a complete mess however booking.com was phenomenal with handling the issue.

    After many days of research, we found this idyllic spot which was just perfect. The staff was amazing, the location was central to shops, restaurants and the beach, and the room was so quaint and comfortable. We had the most delightful experience here. I would stay here again and again.

    The second floor was a bit noisy due to the staff being loud in the early morning. They have their breakroom, maintenance room, and supplies room in between rooms, which makes it difficult for them to be quiet. Additionally, there’s an exit door that slams so loudly when the staff exits.

    Beautiful, minimalist room with a great view of the beach. The sheets were clean, it was quiet and the staff was super friendly and even let us check in a little early because we were coming from a cruise. Great snack bar even though we didn’t use it. Loved the free bottle of wine when you are VIP and overall thought it was a great price. Would definitely stay here again.

    The AC worked great and I was able to sleep great. The floor tiles in the room and bathroom are stained and old, so could use replacing, but otherwise loved the look and feel of the hotel. When I checked in, I was given a card with my room key, but nothing said about it, and I didn't look at it until the next morning where I learned I could've gotten a discount on my dinner the night before. It would've been nice if they told me that ahead of time. The restaurant staff ignored me while serving larger groups that arrived after I did, until I interrupted a server to ask for a menu, which she seemed to take offense to. After that, they were okay, but I felt that they weren't giving me the same attention since I was alone. I'll be staying there again next weekend, so we'll see how it goes.

    We arrived at the Hotel and were welcomed by a receptionist with very limited knowledge of English so was unable to answer our queries. We had a suite booked but the room was extremely dated with broken furniture. What annoyed me most that despite having a suite there was only one mirror & the bathroom and no where else. There was no desk with chair to work on.

    We had a fabulous time at the Cardozo Hotel, what a vibe. Rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. No issues at all for us. Our stay included breakfast and this was also fabulous, well worth it and set us up for the day. Staff were great, loved that you get beach chairs and towels and just walk over to the beach. Close to Espanola way for great food and Lincoln Road for shopping, we walked and grabbed a Starbucks from just up the road. Would recommend and we will be back.

    Property was nice but I did not like the pillows mattress was ok but not great. strangely we found random hair here and there ... The counter space in the bathroom was very limited.     The hotel is great, well located (the beach is right there), super clean and inviting! Who needs a gym when you can walk or run for hours on the boardwalk from the hotel.     Location was great but room was just okay (we got a large suite but there were exactly 2 pillows on a king bed and the blinds did not block out the light enough). Staff was also hit or miss, the ones that spoke English well were very helpful. We had one major issue with this hotel - we forgot a jacket in the closet, called front desk less than 1 hour after leaving and told them we will come back for it when our cruise returns to Miami. Well we called and they said they will call us back when they find it, we never got a call back. Very disappointing that this happened.

    We had a great time staying at the Cardozo Hotel in South Beach. Great location with vibrant nightlife right outside the doors, multiple dining and bar options. During the day it is just across the street from the beach and convenient and safe to walk around. The hotel itself was nice, although the room smelled of cleaning fluids when we first got in and the shower was very loud to open and close. Otherwise, loved the vibe of the hotel and the surrounding area!

    Cons: *Outrageous deposit not listed when booking through expedia * The $40/ night resort fee states it includes beach loungers and even shows photos of beach loungers on the beach in their listing, but in fact they have foldable chairs that you have to carry to the beach with you and return. And they have a limited supply. * Our room was on the 3rd floor, the shower water pressure was low and the hot water was a hit and miss most nights and mornings. * on Day 3 the one elevator was out and like I said, we were on the 3rd floor. Pros: * The resort fee does included use of their bicycles. This was not listed. This was fun and easy transport. However they only have 5 bikes. You can rent bicycles for $8/hr not even a block down the road. * The $15 lunch special was packaged perfect for the beach. The Cuban Chicken and Cheese Burger on the beach was a vibe. The resturant also had live cuban music each night * The Patio area was beatuiful and great place to * walking distance to everything and I felt safe at the location.

    Our flight was delayed and we didnt hesitate to extend our vacation by a day and booked a THIRD time in a week. It smells LOVELY throughout. The staff was accomodating. Especially, the female manager. She is somewhat tall and thin. She was very social and effecient. The food was SO good and we loved our cocktails and bottomless mimosas. Your location just needs some minor touch ups and a decor upgrade for the indoor dining area. I highly recommend Cardozo and am always surprised by less than stellar reviews.
