A most basic hotel experience. Adequately clean. Free on-site parking and location are a huge plus. Helpful office staff. Primitive but serviceable kitchen setup.

Kitchenette was great! Microwave, mini but not too mini fridge, big sink with counter and 4 cup coffee maker. Stayed 6 nights and was just across the street from the beach. Staff was amazing and helpful! Clean pool and plenty of deck area to hang out and relax at the end of the day. It's a little dated/older but Clean. Overall great experience

This is an older motel but felt very safe and clean. Parking was not an issue and was onsite.

Have visited many many times over the last 20 years or so….its like staying with old friends. It’s close to the famous Haulover Beach, closer to the many shops and restaurants in Surfside, as well as close to the shops and restaurants on and just off Collins in the vicinity of 65th to 75th streets.

It was a very nice stay and we will be back again next travel.Best Hostess!

Unfortunately just during our stay there was construction work right outside the room, always in the middle of the night: really loud as the plumbing and power lines were replaced. But the loud AC in the room was even louder.

The place was nice they made everything very convenient for myself and family, traveling with a small infant child isn’t easy but they made it run smoothly when they offered us a crib for him to sleep in the staff was respectful and nice,Maria especially she went above and beyond to make sure we had fresh towels and extra toiletries we will be booking here again in the near future

It is around 25 minutes from downtown Miami beach andtThere are free trolleys to go. There is also parking lot if you need it and wachine machine (not free) It was not that cheap. I think you are paying the "Miami tax".

Perfect location super close to a beautiful beach. Was a little bit dirty with stains and dead bugs, also it was very loud at night and there was a large crack under the door where you could see that the door did not fully close.

Everything was fine until 7:30pm on our third night when the AC stopped working. No one was there to service it and they asked us to move to another room. I personally expected the management to offer us one night off our bill, but they offered neither that nor an added night for the inconvenience of having to pack all our things up, plenty of stuff in the fridge too, and move in the middle of the evening. That's it.

I love that they provided chairs and umbrella for the beach that was less than five minute walk across the street Honestly, did not like how the vending machine only took cash and had to be one. It did not take any other cash for dollar bills, and for some reason the card would not work in the waiting room

Cons: fold out futon was warped, kitchenette didn’t have a working light switch. Overall, compared to other places nearby, it’s an economical choice for a night.

Beach was less than a 5minute walk across the road, the hotel lets you use their beach umbrella, chairs, sand toys and towels. The pool was great! Comfortable and the kids loved it,very “Melrose place” vibes!

I have nothing bad to say about this property! It looks dated but is very well kept up. Because it is older, you can here noises better...but you can get past that. Super close to the beach. Parking is funky but doable. Would definitely stay again.

Pretty average hotel. Very noisy at night as it's right next to a busy road. The positives were free parking and walking distance to the beach. The room was ok, it was clean but pretty basic. It was fine for 1 night but would not be ideal for longer.

Parking was great at location.Nice stay for one night before our cruise. Only issue we had was how loud it was outside of our unit.

The location is wonderful we walked to the beach it’s just a block or 2. The rooms and hotel are clean. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! I have no complaints. Nothing fancy but well worth the price.

Everything about the actual property is very out dated and in dire need of updating. The staff was wonderfully accommodating.

This is a very convenient location, plenty of parking, and clean, The only issue is that it is a bit noisy due to the traffic...bring earplugs!

Felt very safe here, friendly staff. The room is very outdated and has a mildew/old/damp smell. The space in the rooms can be maximized exponentially with different arrangements and cutting the divider wall between the bathroom and kitchen. Definitely had space for a dresser. No real complaints, though, we were satisfied with our stay. The neighbors were so comfortable and minded their own business, as did we.

The property is old and has an old hotel smell. The exterior door needs weather stripping and the windows are not sound-proofed, we were in an end room, and a refrigerator truck was running outside. Price and proximity for our tours was wonderful.

Ok Motel but the rooms are not good. The floor had so many soft spots it felt like you may fall through the floor. The carpet was so dirty your feet would be black in minutes. Everything else was just ok. Picture is of wiping my feet after about 30 min in the room

The staff was super nice and accomodating and the location was right across from the beach. Free parking! The rooms had a very intense mildew smell. The first room we were placed in was unbearable - like, leave the room and smell the mildew on your clothes. We asked to be moved to a different room and the staff was very nice and accommodating, allowing us to go room to room to smell and choose one that wasn't as bad. I honestly think it was the AC unit. We didn't use the AC for the remainder of our stay (thankfully it wasn't majorly hot), and that helped. We opened the windows a lot. If you're sensitive to smells or have allergies, you might want to steer clear.

Able to accommodate our family of 5 (stayed in apartment) - full kitchen with stove, toaster, coffee maker, microwave; dining table with 6 chairs; sofas; 2 TVs Hotel provided folding beach chairs, umbrellas for beach for no charge - we loved this. Cute 50s vintage feel - pool/courtyard Staff addressed 2 concerns we had immediately AC was nice and one of the units helped drown out car sounds. Across the street from a pretty park We walked on the front walking/biking trail parallel to beach for about a mile for restaurants - very pleasant walk. Cons: Sits between 2 1-way streets - so need to cross at crosswalk or wait for cars to clear to walk to beach. No beach view. Street sounds. 2 stars - don’t expect luxury; state of bathroom has mismatched tiles, some chipping paint around edges of windows. Not enough towel racks or hooks to hang toiletry bags and towels/swimsuits. They could have fit at least queen sized beds, maybe king, but instead they are full sized. Some people seem to rent rooms full time - smoking in courtyard. Had to step into street from apartment to go around the end car of parking lot to get to office - felt unsafe.

The front desk guy is Amazing (night shift) he can work in any hotel having him is a blessing for you guys. I hope you take care of him Housekeeping ??? Clean the damn shower heads!! Disgusting frfr it's called CLR use it to clean them, the maintenance tech shouldn't be painting the window trim right now he needs to focus on shampooing carpets in the units between turns (need good fans) I'd rather have clean wet carpet when I check in than dry dirty carpet. CARPET IS NASTY!! Clean them

The courtyard pool’s a great place to cool off, the AC works great in a muggy Miami climate, staff are attentive and courteous and last but not least the parking. Parking is vital in Miami and can get quite pricey. Not many places to stay offer it and street parking can be restrictive. Not the case here thank god! A little pricey (in CAD) for a place that’s far away from the familiar trappings of South Beach and downtown.

The pool seating is okay make AC lots of noise bedding the sheets looks very old not too comfortable laying on the bedding sheets. Not a single bottle of water in the refrigerator arrived late night cannot take my medication. It little bit terrible. I was told my $ 150.00 will put on hold for 2 days after departed.

Room was clean with comfortable bed. Kitchenette which was nice but hoping fridge to be a bit larger. Parking in front was hard backing up due to being on curb.

We had an apartment style room with two bedrooms in the building beside the main building. The space was great, with lots of room for our family of 5. It was a little tired in spots but comfortable. Some of the three beds were more comfortable than others, but all were decent. There was definitely road noise, but the bedrooms were somewhat isolated from it. The pool area was great and the location is right across from the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas were available to borrow. Staff were friendly and helpful. The free parking was a wonderful addition! We would recommend!

My family stayed at Beach Place for a week over spring break. It was great! The kitchenette was good since there are no restaurants within walking distance. The pool was relaxing. There is a private patio on one side of the hotel that we enjoyed, also. The rooms are kept clean and restocked by an attentive staff. There are beach towels, chairs and umbrellas for guest to use. The paved walk through the tree filled park to the quiet beach was wonderful. And there is a walking trail next to the beach. The free shuttle is a minute walk away and will take you to other busy beaches and out to eat and shop. The road is busy so I used ear plugs at night to block out the road noise. I would also request a room by the pool if we go back.

They also let you borrow towels, umbrellas, and I believe chairs for the beach!

It was extremely noisy. You could hear the very busy road outside the hotel, people stomping around in the rooms above us. And the smell the whole place smelled like mildew now my suitcase stinks. Every single item that I brought with me smelled like mildew, including my hairbrush. It says the beach is one minute walk away totally is not true. It’s more like 5 to 10 minutes. Just an overall bad experience was not happy with it.

Good if modest place to stay at in Miami Beach. Best to have a car, as eateries and other things are not close by. But the beach is a short walk.

I’m giving this room a 3 out of 5 because I thought its rating of 4/5 was misleading. Couldn’t walk a few steps barefoot without my feet being covered in dirt, and it was hard to be comfortable in the room in general due to the smell of mold and general dirtiness. It also was a room to sleep with good location and the bed was good enough.

Website had different times shuttle was available. When we returned and called the hotel, they could not give a time when the shuttle would be able to pick us up, so we ended up taking an Uber.

The exterior of the building was pretty worn and it wasn’t clear where the main office was. The staff were very friendly and helped us out. The room was clean, the shower was hot, and the bed was pretty comfy (except the standard support-less hotel pillows). Overall the stay was pleasant and just what we needed for a 1 night stay.

Staff is courteous. The bed in the deluxe king room was amazingly comfortable. Self parking with no charge is a plus on the beach. There was a loud conversation going on in the hallway about 3am though. Chairs for the beach are a plus. Short walk to the beach through the park.

While the staff was nice and welcoming, the building and room were dated, nothing like the pictures. The good: Location, parking, heated pool. Rooms with carpet can never be cleaned properly, bathroom exhaust didn't work, bathroom tub was partially clogged, rust all over the small fridge in the room.

The receptionist was very helpful. The room was clean and everything worked well. My only complaint would be that our room, no 100, was very close to a extremely noisy road. Ot was more like being next to a race track.

There is NOTHING to eat or drink within easy walking distance. To get to the beach, you walk thru a dark and shady "park". Find somewhere better to stay...trust me.

The front desk agent was nice upon check-in. I did have to lift my bags up 2 flights of stairs since there isn't an elevator onsite for guests. The room was okay. The location was close to Lindbergh Bay Beach which was convenient. You can also see some flights as you're at that beach. The property was not bad but the pool area needs some more tlc. They have a bar next to the pool but unfortunately it was dry. No kind of action there but definitely has potential for a party in that area. I have attached photos. I would return if i wanted to be next to the airport again.

The front desk agent was nice upon check-in. I did have to lift my bags up 2 flights of stairs since there isn't an elevator onsite for guests. The room was okay. The location was close to Lindbergh Bay Beach which was convenient. You can also see some flights as you're at that beach. The property was not bad but the pool area needs some more tlc. They have a bar next to the pool but unfortunately it was dry. No kind of action there but definitely has potential for a party in that area. I have attached photos. I would return if i wanted to be next to the airport again.

Courteous staff at night, clean pool. Absolute bonus is proximity to the beach and free parking. 5 stars would be even a small continental breakfast, toast, croissants, fruit etc

First and foremost it was a good stay. They had great parking, very close to the beach, friendly staff and it was clean. It’s definitely an older property. If you’re looking for somewhere with easy parking, easy beach access and the bare basics. Stay here.

Nice and very convenient

Expedia reviews have let me down multiple times lately. This was not one of them. I enjoyed my stay here. Very clean. Not luxury, if you want carpet in your room or a workout room, look elsewhere. But if you want to make your coffee and walk a couple minutes to the beach and sit and contemplate life, you're in luck. Floor is tile... because beach sand. Shower floor is bathroom floor ... because beach sand. Bed was firm and comfortable enough that.i slept well all night. There is convenient parking in front. Pool looked nice enough but did not get a chance to use it. I'll be back... Probably with the family next time. Thank you.

Not clean at all.the floor is very filthy. Microwave exposed to microbacteria. Smell cigarette and the table is very sticky.

Staff was very helpful and courteous. If you’re expecting luxury this is not the hotel. Had the basics. Great location. We used the free trolley service for most of our trip. Hotel provided beach chairs and towels. Beach was across the street. Our room had a kitchenette which was great. Wish hotel room had more storage but other than that, I’d stay there again.

THe parking was very convenient,and well lit. There were shops close enough to walk but not so close that there were too many people. The best things is the proximity to the beach/park!

I had no email whatsoever. The attendant was very curt and frustrated with me for not receiving their correspondence. When we rectified that I was assigned the wrong room. When I gave them notice of that, they tried to rebuke me until I showed the listing. It took a while for them to find the appropriate room. The overwhelming smell of room freshener was awful. When I aired out the odor, I found out it was to cover the mildew and mold odors. I then found later that evening that one of the windows was broken and would not close all the way. I had a 4 1/2 hour drive and needed an efficiency with a full refrigerator for work purposes and did not have a choice but to stay. I will not recommend this place to anyone and you definitely get what you pay for. Awful stay. Awful space. I wish I could have a refund.

Close to the beach and park

Far from everything, like 20-mins to the restaurants located on North Beach. Place is cheap for the price and can use the renovation. I do agree that the room smells so bad! The cleaning solution or whatever it was is very strong. It gave me an headache!

Good location. Super old. Very dated carpet, furniture, bedding. Clean though. Doing the best they can. Feels like most units are for residents.

Staff was very friendly. Property was close to the beach at a walkable distance with a nice and calm pool area. Room had a great kitchen and closet. Parking was included and had many spots. It was a great place to stay with a really good location.

We were disappointed that we had not water all afternoon and when it was turned back on, we never did have hot water. Management knew there was no hot water.

In the hotel parking there was a dead body. We first noticed what we though was a homeless person sleeping. A few days later we saw an ambulance. The two drivers were in no hurry. They were putting on gloves and there was a horrible odor. They told me that the person had passed. It took them at least two days to find that the person had died. There are several broken down cars in the lot. Place not clean. Staff was very nice and cleaned it while we were there. The drain to the tub and the sink were clogged. Again very nice staff they took care of it the next day. Mainly the person being dead and not being discovered for who know how many days was horrible. They allow junk cars that looked like they don't run in the back. The back is not checked. The place is very run down.

The hotel is pretty old, but the staff tries had to keep it up. You are RIGHT on a very busy street, so the noise is a bit much at times, but you're also literally across the street from the beach. The pool is cleaned often & was very nice, even though I spent more time at the beach. Saw several thongs at the pool & no one seemed to care. As it should be.

The Beach Place is so convenient to where we dine and beach. Missed seeing Helen, but next trip… Thank you BP for another quality stay.

There was a gap around the bottom and right corner of door that light came in. Not enough parking. We had to park behind the building, people visiting the public beach would park there to avoid paying for parking. There was a man living in his pick up truck behind the hotel. It smelled damp, musty. People smoked cigarettes and pot on the balcony and you could smell it in the room. It was very, very, very noisy at night, the music and traffic from cars would make me never ever stay there again, even if it was free.

No dresser in the room, that was the only complaint. Otherwise good.

I like the place

Older style hotel in need of some major upgrades. Not what we were expecting from the posted pictures. Its okay in a crunch but I would not stay there again.

Staff friendly. Room was dated, need to remove stinky carpet. Bed was hard. Blankets are old and rough, need to be replaced. Pool looked nice. Not within 1mi of any restaurants. Close to public beach.

Older property

We chose it because of the kitchenette and ample parking (which is rare in Miami Beach area). Both of those aspects were great. In many ways the hotel was excellent. They provided cups plates and cooking pans, even with washing up liquid. It was well thought out. The shower was powerful and hot, and the hotel was just over the road from north beach area. There were ample electric sockets in useful positions for charging. You could ask for beach/pool towels and take chairs and umbrellas over to the beach. The swimming pool was very clean and well looked after, and we enjoyed sitting out at the tables there, even though the road was nearby. We cooked our own food and there was a Publix a short drive away. But somehow, despite having everything we needed, the rooms just felt a little dingy, and we didn’t really enjoy being there. There was a horrible cleaning fluid smell which other reviews had mentioned. We thought it couldn’t really be that bad, but it was and it nearly made us leave the first night, but thankfully wore off over the few days we were there. I think the main bonus of this hotel is the ease of parking, and I would only stay here if I planned to drive to places. We drove to South Beach a few times and parked fine. Another time I think I would stay out of the city and drive in.

We stayed in a larger apartment style room. There was plenty of space, very clean, and beds were comfortable. However it was very outdated and the windows and doors badly need replacing. The main building and smaller rooms were much more updated. Beach was very close but not as close as pictures lead one to believe. Staff was friendly and the pool was perfect!

Ok so we have stayed for a 2nd time. Lowest price in the area by far. There is ample parking but you may end up out back, looks rough but its safe, Beach is walking distance on side walks and park. food is 1.1 miles away either way you go. plan to pay for parking every where you go outside the hotel. They will ask for $50 per night cc deposit if you check in with expedia, but thats just a hold, the charge never hits your cc. Pool area is always clean, can borrow chairs and umbrellas, awesome ince for your beach day in office, staff is great from the front to the c;eaners and Maint staff. So now the rooms. Ac's work great, carpets are old, old, old, but the room smells clean and fresh, beds are comfortable, 1 pillow per person, no sitting chairs out side eating area, cant just kick back, bif tv, Bathrooms, are OK, old scome cracking tiles, crack in the sink, mirror is getting degraded from the back, looks like mold but its just what old mirrors do. showers ok, clean no mold, I may sound like im being picky, but i give fair feedback,,,We will stay again when we go back in 2 years, so my advice is this, if ya want a "beach" ajacent hotel cheap, this is your place otherwise go a few miles and spend $300 2.5x of what this place cost us.

We felt very comfortable, the service was excellent, the entire hotel was very clean, highly recommended.

The property was across from a beautiful park and the beach but it was rather old and tired, nothing that a coat of paint and a good cleaning wouldn't fix.

Room was next to a busy street and windows were not double-paned so it was noisy all night. TV was broken and could not be repaired.

No stores or restaurants within walking distance. Half of parking spaces require backing out onto a busy state highway. Housekeeping doesn't make second attempt if Do Not Disturb sign is out the first time.

During our visit the pool was opened but did not have enough water ( I believe ) for it to run through filters, so the water was cold, and did not appear to be running through pumps at all. Staff was friendly but Hotels website did not inform me that my reservations would have to be paid using only card, when I originally picked pay at hotel, cause I usually pay cash for all hotel stays.

This is a fantastic little hotel. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t for you!! If your looking for quiet clean and wonderful staff this place is for you. It’s close to the beach and they provide chairs and umbrellas to take with you. The internet was failing when we were there. We stayed for a couple days before our cruise. Would stay there again.

The host at check in was great. But the place was not clean, I saw a roach in the bathroom and other bugs and insects in the room. Toilet and shower is one floor so you have to step in a wet floor to use the bathroom. The host i spoke to in the morning to try to change rooms was not customer service oriented.I spent the night not sleeping and had to drive back to Tampa in the morning because I didn’t have money for another property. So I lost the money for that day leaving the place at 9:30 am.

Check in was super easy and staff was great! The building is old and showing some age but it was clean. Beds were comfortable. We did have an issue while we were there and though they could not fix it they were very quick to respond and come up with a solution. We stayed for 1 night prior to a cruise and would stay again.

The motel itself was mediocre. Seemed old and not well maintained/updated. There are two old beach chairs and one small umbrella available for the whole place. Our key cards de-magnetized twice. There is no way to heat food in the room, only a refrigerator and coffee maker. The mattresses were not comfortable. The wifi basically did not work - it was such a weak connection that we did better using cell data because the wifi disconnected so frequently. In good news, the motel is a block to the ocean, and that location balances out the low quality room.
