The Stanford Park Hotel

Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Walking distance to the Stanford Shopping Center and close to other shops and restaurants and to Stanford. The hotel pool and spa are well maintained. There’s poolside dining available. There’s a nice coffee bar in the morning in the lobby and the best chocolate chip cookies in the evening. The reception team is welcoming and helpful. I appreciated having a decent size fridge in the room. The beds are comfortable. I’m a light sleeper so being near the train was a concern but we heard nothing. It was much quieter than the chain hotels in the area. I’d definitely recommend the hotel and I plan to stay here again.

Guests feel like visiting royalty at the Stanford Park. Then after several stays you become family! We love our home away from home. Can't wait to go back!

A really beautiful, clean hotel with incredibly kind staff. I’m rating it lower however because the air conditioning would not cool my room (had it turned all the way down). I was only there one night and needed sleep but unfortunately couldn’t sleep much because I was too hot.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very kind and accommodating. The room was spacious and very clean. The food at the restaurant downstairs is very good and it had a lovely courtyard for outdoor seating.

You booked the wrong date and charged me for it!

It’s a beautiful, classy hotel in the heart of Stanford area, our room was spacious , but had a cozy feel, nice comfortable bed and pillow, clean, beautiful patio, the staff were nice and helpful. The location is perfect walking distance to Stanford Shopping center, Cafe Barone, downtown Menlo Park. A beautiful place to stay!

However, if you reserve an outdoor dining spot ~30 minutes in advance, be prepared for host staff to feign ignorance of your reservation and arbitrarily determine that there is no outdoor seating available and move you inside. Then enjoy your delicious meal and friendly service while being in plain view of an empty table for four outside for the duration of your meal. Perhaps we weren't the host staffs' preferred clientele. An unacceptable blemish on an otherwise spotless experience.

Hotel even recognized my birthday by sending a lovely bottle of Prosecco and amazing little chocolate cake to my room. I’d love to stay there again when I am in the area.

The A/C system needs adjusting, since on Low and High it’s super noisy and blows air super high. On Medium it blows almost no air. It wasn’t like this in other hotel sleeping rooms in the past, so we think it was only this room, The Bar and Restaurant are so super delicious! We love dining here for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The Staff is so nice and helpful! It’s a fabulous hotel to stay at, close to everything, including Stanford Shopping Mall.

This was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed it’s beautiful

I absolutely love this hotel. From the doormen to the front desk to the servers in the restaurant and housekeeping, everyone is helpful, conscientious and genuinely is there to make the stay as great as it can be. The front desk asked why we were there and I told them it was my daughter's 20th birthday. Within 30 min, a cake was delivered to our room with a card for her. This is my go to place anytime I'm in Palo Alto.

The little details the best quality . Very nice decoration calming colors, very clean. Very nice staff. I think the quality of the food in the restaurant was not what I would expect of this hotel. I had a hamburger and that was what it was a plain hamburger not very good tasting. It seems like they do such good job in all other areas but seems they really don’t try in the restaurant. French fries were good though. Presentation very poor.

Everything from the facilities to the grounds, but especially the staff was outstanding. Highly recommended great value for the money.

Everything honestly! Great teammates, cozy lobby, coffee, fruit, water and fresh cookies so nice. Also few simple snacks in room and nice coffee/tea set up in room. Ate at restaurant 4 times and great food. Lent me a phone charger and brought last minute crib room. I’m coming back in 1 month and switched my hotel reservation to SPH. Big fan and I travel a lot.

Spotless room, beautiful modern bathroom, wood-burning fireplace in room, excellent food in the restaurant and tavern (bar area) and friendly, gracious and helpful service throughout my staff. Felt like a home away from home for my 4-night stay! I particularly loved the roaring fire in the chicly decorated double height lobby, the lovely courtyard (even in winter) with its firepits and comfortable seating areas, the art photography of notable Stanford students and alumni throughout the halls, and the beautiful entryway area. I also appreciated the free coffee every morning in the lobby! Thank you for a great stay!

Amazing staff, food, and ambiance.

Stanford park hotel provided a welcome respite while my daughter was in Stanfords Children’s Hospital. The restaurant was excellent and made it easy to have a good meal after an emotional day without having to leave the premises.

Excellent Hotel

Stayed here while my husband having surgery at Stanford. Everyone and everything at the hotel exceeded my expectations and allowed me to de-stress when taking a break from the hospital. Super close to the hospital (can easily walk in 25 minutes), great bar and restaurant, rooms are clean, luxurious but functional. Best decision to stay during this stressful time.

The room was spotless and the bathroom was perfect with two sinks and a lighted makeup mirror.

Short distance to Stanford University.

I was there for a Stanford Reunion, so I was predisposed to like the place. But it’s a genuinely wonderful hotel, with each of the areas (lobby, bar, patio) all having a different character. Rooms and entire hotel spotless, service excellent. Refreshing lack of multiple TVs and annoying music in the public areas.

The hotel is so beautiful and relaxing. The staff is so accommodating. I highly recommend!!

Delightful stay at a wonderful hotel. The courtyard is charming

Our daughter had to have surgery at Stanford Medicine, so we stayed at the Stanford Park Hotel for five nights in Aug '25. (We used to live in the area, but recently moved away.) The service was impeccable and the facilities top-notch. It was great to have the pool on hot days; and we loved dining/ lounging in the courtyard on a warm summer eve. I'd rank the quality with more expensive hotels in the region (Four Seasons, Rosewood); the Stanford Park is better value for money and the clientele/ staff friendlier.

Beautiful Palo Alto hotel near Stanford with a lovely terrace, great dinners, cozy fire pits, and summer live music plus: inner yard rooms highly recommended. Across the street from Stanford shopping mall. The pool could be cleaner, and breakfast is served only indoors, with no option to enjoy it on the terrace.

Great property right by the school

We are very happy with our stay here. The only real downside was the band at dinner where the food was excellent, but the obnoxious so-called music prevented us from staying long enough for dessert. Otherwise it's well priced and a really nice place to where we will return. The food at the tavern, by the way, was excellent. Get the corn chowder. One of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. The scallops, however, we're so few it barely kept me alive, but that's what you get with a scallops dish.

This is the loveliest small hotel. Gorgeous grounds, elevated, sophisticated and comfortable interiors and rooms. Bathrooms are very well appointed. The staff is fantastic. Walkable to Stanford Mall and downtown Palo Alto. Menlo Tavern food and bar are wonderful!

Charming hotel. Excellent location. Very comfy, large rooms. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. We had breakfast there one morning which was good and plentiful. Will return.

I throughly enjoyed my stay at the Stanford Park Hotel. It was an easy check in process and nice spacious room. You even get warm delicious cookies in the evenings . Also fire pit outside was cozy at night . I would definitely stay here again

Great location, facilities

Beautiful hotel. We loved it!

The room was roomy, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, with a fabulous bed and a very nice shower & bathroom. The common areas were lovely and fairly quiet, and the courtyard has lots of "nooks" in which to spend time with a little privacy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The pool was heated, and the hot tub very nice to hang out in. I personally don't mind trains overmuch, but if there during the day & evening, be ready for fairly frequent train noise from the Caltrain corridor that runs directly behind one of the buildings.

We love this hotel and stay here all the time. It would be nice to have another elliptical in the gym because the one nice one is in high demand. Also a treadmill was broken the whole time we were there. Another issue is that ventilation has been bad the last couple times we have stayed there. The rooms are a little swampy after a couple showers. Overall it's a great place with wonderful service.

The staff was great, engaging us in conversation and asking about our visit, offering nice hotel amenities like morning coffee and tea, and fresh baked cookies in the lobby before bedtime. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and very helpful. The room we reserved was a king room with a fireplace and view of the courtyard. It was very pleasant to sit by the open window, feel the breeze, listening to the indistinguishable chatter below. I was expecting the fireplace to be a digital or electronic one but it’s a legit Duralog burning fireplace (logs provided by the front desk). It really helped to make the experience feel like home. Literally my only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer. We will absolutely be back again!

Very pleased with our 2 day stay ay this hotel. It is close by the Stanford shopping mall which was handy for getting the items my son needed for moving into his Stanford accomodation. Staff are very helpful and this is a top class hotel.

This is my most favorite hotel of all time. Period. Staff is amazing...Sherona at the front desk is the absolute best. Love, love, love this place!

The Stanford Park Hotel was a wonderful hotel with a large and comfortable room and an extremely friendly service at every step.

SPH is a classic hotel with great service. The rooms are large. The bathrooms are huge with high end fixtures, marble, double sinks, large walk-in shower, quality towels etc. Plenty of storage. Desk included. I love the public spaces, especially the courtyard that leads to the pool area. Plenty of parking. Water bottles, tea and coffee in the rooms as well as in the lobby. The attached restaurant is decent, not high cuisine but you’re get a decent meal. Location is great, right across from Stanford Shopping center and restaurants.

Love the Stanford Park but will say the king bed is in need of replacement. Sinking in the middle! Otherwise absolutely lovely hotel!

Great stay

Great hotel

Stay was ok. The hotel itself is fine, well kept, clean, comfortable. Service and noise were issues - since ice machines are gone I called room service for ice (for an injury) and it never came. Called back an hour later to cancel and was told “oh, sorry about that. Guess it got missed.” Next night extremely loud group was dining on the terrace - could hear them through the closed windows. Since I had an early meeting in the morning I was trying to get some sleep. Finally called front desk at 10:15 and was told the restaurant closed at 10 and there was no one on the terrace. I said “I’m looking at them at their table right now still being served. Can you please ask them to quiet down a bit?” The response was that there was nothing they could do.

Wonderful property! Great pool and the restaurant is excellent.
