Hotel smaller than normally stay in; breakfast simple; staff were not rude, but not friendly - didn't help with breakfast questions (asked what were containers in fridge & was told to check labels, could have been friendlier when answering); parking close to building, but very small lot - thankfully hotel wasn't full or wouldn't be able to park

Front desk attendant was great very nice. But the room bathroom was dirty
- 0.5/5
Bad
- 4/5
Razor wire around the top of the parking lot wall was a bit concerning and the morning lobby staff was too busy flirting with each other to notice the breakfast bar was empty of a few things. When we questioned if more was coming, it still took 15-20 minutes for eggs
- 3/5
3 day breakfast was very good but 2 days breakfast was late, several items were limited or missing all together. Place was not kept clean, coffee machine leaked for two days with coffee running to elevator. Building is not well maintained, lost AC day 3 and had to move rooms. 2/5 days understaffed. We love asst mgr Kia and her daughter( friendly and helpful) but due to inconsistency I wouldn’t stay there again.
- 4/5
Breakfast was ok. Had a few concerns about safety but not unusual nowadays. Staff was great.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 4/5
Staff was wonderful, bed was soft and clean, parking was great. Breakfast was only missing a juice bar.
- 4/5
The room was pretty spacious and it was a comfortable night but it seemed kind of humid in the room even with the air conditioner on. Some things seemed to have seen its day, e.g., doorknob seemed a bit jammed, shower water handle was loose. Breakfast was acceptable; there was variety. Overall a decent stay.
- 4/5
Room was very clean. The staff were very helpful. Parking was in an enclosed area that belonged to the property. Read many negative reviews prior to arrival, but not sure why. Hotel and amenities were as good as some higher dollar properties I have stayed.
- 3/5
They don’t even have a kitchen, they have a 3 compartment sink and microwave.

Breakfast all out. Not the greatest part of town. Hallway loud - can hear everything in the room.
- 5/5
Everything was ok We recommand❤️
- 5/5
Quiet clean rooms. Good breakfast
- 3/5
So the staff were friendly and helpful, parking was good. Can definitely see the wear on the room. The location is right off the freeway but a bunch of the local restaurants that said were opened on Google Maps were permanently closed so i was a but disappointed. My biggest issue is that my room key card kept just not working. I had to go down to the desk multiple times to fix it.
- 1/5
It was great until I woke up at 4 am with the room smelling like marijuana .. I got up and opened the door and the hallway wreaked of marijuana… couldn’t go back to sleep .. I told the desk about the situation when I checked out .. gentleman in front of me also complain about the smell ..… I would like a complete refund because of this situation
- 5/5
Yes it was
- 1/5
Terrible smell in hallway and found used condems in the bathroom! I will never go back!
- 3/5
For a lower price point, it was as expected.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, cool ac

The only amazing thing was the breakfast lady. She was such a hard worker and took care of her guest.
- 2/5
Room had a very strong smoke smell, water from faucet and shower sometimes came out brown
- 2/5
Room was decent, parking a lot was safe and well lit, and it was quiet. Here's why I went with 2 stars: I checked in ahead of time on the website and it stated that there'd be a $50 refundable deposit. When I finally arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk said I had to pay a $100 refundable deposit instead. It's honestly not that much of a difference and it is refundable but I just found it so shady and sneaky because at that point (11pm on a sunday night after a 10 hour drive) I wasn't gonna go look for another hotel. He wasn't able to explain why there's a discrepancy either, just to told me to either pay or go. Most definitely will not be staying here again.
- 4/5
I've stayed here a couple times. It's perfect for sliding into town overnight and staying near places I tend to frequent. Nothing fancy, but comfortable enough.
- 5/5
Good value
- 3/5
Breakfast could have been better, not many options and the waffle mix was super watery and made them taste off. The rooms smelled off and bleachy. They where clean, but it just smelled off.
- 5/5
They always have good clean rooms and excellent customer service…. Furniture a little outdated but overall 5 stars
- 2/5
The room looked ok, but the air conditioning in our room didn’t work. Nothing fancy just ok to stay the night.

Highly recommend this affordable motel. It is relatively modern with spacious rooms and nice, clean amenities. The staff are excellent and parking was easy.
- 3/5
nothing exceptional - not worth the money - and NOTHING to drink for breakfast other than coffee, no juice no milk no water!!!!
- 4/5
Needs updating.
- 1/5
The hotel property is enclosed by barbed wire fence. Didn’t feel safe staying at the property.
- 5/5
Have stayed here before and would highly recommend for anyone looking for an affordable, pleasant stay in Memphis.
- 4/5
The room was nice. View was not nice as it was to an empty lot that was not clean. The elevators were quite frightening as they moved and bounced a lot more than normal. The staff was great and very helpful. Area was decent, close to attractions and Beal streets
- 4/5
Liked the hotel very much BUT the toilets are WAY too short!
- 3/5
Arriving to the hotel was kind of a surprise. We did not expect a razor wire fence around the lot (not typical where I’m from), but after some time there, it was appreciated. The building is not pretty on the outside, but the location was convenient for us, the staff were very friendly and the room was nice and clean. There are a lot of homeless in the area, just something to be aware of. None bothered us at the hotel though. The breakfast left much to be desired, we went to nearby cafes and coffee shops to get some decent food instead. It’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for something reasonably priced near the local hospitals or downtown area, and don’t mind the other things I mentioned above.
- 5/5
We had to switch rooms because the first one smelled strongly like smoke. After that the stay was pleasant
- 5/5
I liked the retro decor and simple amenities. Staff was great! 5 Stars.
- 3/5
Non-smoking hotel, which is fine as we do t smoke. Get to our room and the bathroom smelled STRONGLY of cigarettes. The smoke detector appeared to be working but was dangling from a wire several inches below the ceiling, not flush. And there was a large dead bug on the carpeted floor.
- 1/5
Worst place to stay. Super dirty, non operational elevator, full of insects, very bad smell, rusty water
- 4/5
We enjoyed the hotel for the quick overnight stay. We wished it could have accommodated a pool given the hot summer in Memphis in August.
- 5/5
They worked withe when inwas running behind amd was efficient
- 5/5
Great room for the price. Breakfast was pretty good (just need gravy for the biscuits in the future lol). The room we had was 2 queens. The sheets were nice, bed was comfortable, and 4 pillows felt amazing. I had been using holiday inn, but gen x is probably my new go to!
- 3/5
The area its great, the room i didn't like
- 1/5
I need my deposit back
- 5/5
Hotel was lovely. We didn't realize that Memphis has high gang crime. We didn't venture out, but felt safe at the hotel only.
- 5/5
Wonderful…10/10
- 4/5
A convenient location (6 mins drive) from Beale Street
- 5/5
Slept sooo good, may have over slept after check out time 😅if my husband didnt wake me up! Everyone was super nice.
- 5/5
The staff was great! The best customer service I have seen at a Best Western. Great customer service! In addition, the breakfast was good, the beds were good.
- 5/5
Staff were nice, hotel facility just ok
- 5/5
Great location near medical district. Great price. Has free hot breakfast and a gym. Secured parking lot and secured entry. Room is good size. There are 5 floors. You will love it here. Within walking distance to Beale Street. It was a last minute stay and a good choice for the price.
- 3/5
Our TV never worked the entire time we were there. They literally were manually rebooting their router and still the TV wasn’t working. Just seems unprofessional for a hotel to not have better Wi-Fi service. Also, when we arrive to our room, the door was wide open. It had us questioning, We’re wearing the right spot?
- 5/5
Property seemed fine & our room was fine for 1 night...but does seem out of place and a little sketchy IMO.
- 4/5
I love a good Best Western stay because the rooms are always clean, the building is generally quiet, and the breakfast is good. This was no exception. The room was bigger than I expected, and super clean. Plenty of outlets and the staff was super friendly and fast. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the toilet handle slipped off the chain a few hours before check out and I couldn't get it back on, but I'm sure if I had mentioned it, it would have been fixed quickly. Overall, I highly recommend. The neighborhood might give you pause, and maybe the outside could use some sprucing up, but this is a good hotel, and the omelets were on point.
- 3/5
The best aspect of my stay was the staff, especially TJ. From check-in to check-out, TJ was extremely helpful. He was able to answer any questions we had about the area, places to dine and things to do during our stay. Any issue's we had in our room, TJ was able to correct and did so with a pleasant attitude and a smile.
- 4/5
Ms. Joyce is the best! Her breakfast is so delicious and she is so kind and accommodating. I would go back just for her. Facilities were nice, spacious rooms, cameras in the parking lot. We felt safe and secure.
- 1/5
Whole parking lot fence topped white
- 1/5
The room was out dated the table and chair were old and rusted the toilet ran throughout the night none of the sockets next to the beds work. I called down to the front desk and was told that there is no maintenance guy on the property and they wouldn’t be able to fix the issue until Tuesday the nerve of them to ask for $100 incidental deposit on a room where they have people outside begging for change.
- 1/5
This was pretty junky.. had no real experience, the bed smelled (sheets).. we did not stay for breakfast. We left as soon as we woke.
- 3/5
The property is surrounded by a fence with razor wire. It is very close to Minglewood Hall. Uber is definitely the way to go even though it is within walking distance as it is an unsafe area. The room was decent and the bed was comfortable for 1 night. Would stay again if seeing a concert at Minglewood Hall.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and quiet. Bed was comfy!Receptionist Deborah was nice, friendly and professional.
- 3/5
Our room was not ready after 3 pm. The pictures of property were not accurate. Although there was a fence around property it did not feel safe because it was downtown. Once we got into a room the room was clean and up to date. We would not stay here again due to location.
- 5/5
Great location & hot breakfast.
- 5/5
Good location, hotel was clean, staff was helpful! would stay again!
- 5/5
Nice clean place. Helpful staff
- 2/5
Desk lady was very nice but our room wasn’t even ready by 5:30. Razor wire around the hotel
- 5/5
Wry accommodating super nice
- 5/5
Staff friendly hotel clean to be in downtown Memphis.. I felt very safe and comfortable
- 2/5
breakfast food was no good
- 4/5
Very clean, don’t clean everyday. The commodes are like a daycare for kids. Very uncomfortable trying to sit down use toilet you flopped because they’re so low. The trash built up very high but other than that it was a great stay.
- 5/5
Big thank you to the lady that did the cooking
- 5/5
Booked place last minute was good
- 4/5
People kept saying the breakfast was great but it might have been the worse hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Other than that it was a good hotel with nice staff and clean rooms.
- 4/5
They shortened the breakfast time indicated.
- 4/5
He ate in lounge area where I was sitting and had personal music player loud and singing while I was trying to relax He had the phone on hold so I had to come down to ASK IN PERSON for wake up call He did not move from where he was sitting, asked me my room number 3 times, even though not even near the desk and I still never got my wake up call ! The rest of my servers were wonderful- Delores and the young man who checked me and and checked me out at 7 am Sunday morning !
- 3/5
Room could be cleaner. In the middle of the night the fire alarm fell from the ceiling.
- 1/5
Poor customer service. Do not try to work with me with my reservations.
- 1/5
A lot of coke heads wondering around property
- 3/5
I am unfamiliar with Memphis. I was trying to find a reasonably priced room close to the Memphis Sports Complex in a safe neighborhood. I got a very comfortable room but the surrounding area was scary. It was supposed to be a smoke free hotel but it reeked of Marijuana(especially 4th floor). The remote did not work completely. I could change channels but couldn't adjust the volume or turn it off without getting up. The plug ins nearest to the beds didn't work.
- 4/5
This place was close to the medical building i needed to go to.
- 5/5
Everything quiet..travel was easy i would recommend all travelers to stay
- 4/5
I didnt like the fact upon arriving it took a minute to get checked in when i already had a reservation in place. I had issues with the tv.Staff finally fixed that issue. Bathroom door wouldnt close up to lock. No microwave in room as stated on website. Some outlets weren't working. Ms. Joyce did excellent with the breakfast.
- 3/5
The room was pretty good. The check in was adequate. The clerk was not personable. This hotel was a bad reputation for break-ins in the parking lot, but our car was not bothered. This place is average on the whole.
- 4/5
My only reason for not giving a perfect score is that the ac unit is very old and noisy and there is light coming in from under the door which is distracting if you are sleeping. This is a simple hotel, with a small lobby but I found it to be more practical than the ones by Beale St. It is very quiet, parking is right there and the price is much better. Overall a much better deal. This is where I will stay the next time I am in town.
- 5/5
Quiet
- 2/5
Location is questionable (safety of personal property) and a lot of noise throughout my overnight stay.
- 2/5
Didn’t get a good feeling about surroundings
- 3/5
The lady in the restaurant was very nice. Seemed apprehensive when desk/possible management was near. When i asked about checking out a day earlier then planned due to inclement weather, I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me and Memphis had received 6 inches of snow, they would not allow it. I think I was the only person there except for staff and family who was sleeping on the floor the behind the desk.
- 5/5
Very nice front desk and I always came back to my room with fresh clean towels
- 3/5
Fair
- 3/5
The room was 68 degrees, and the thermostat didn’t work. It was too damn cold. I even tried to turn it off and that didn’t work either.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a very shady and unsafe area. The hotel itself is very small, and it is not very soundproof at all.
- 1/5
When we arrived, we were given a room that was not clean then moved to a room where the door wouldn't open then moved to the third room and we got settled. The next day someone knocked on our door stated they were given a key to the room we were staying in and the key worked. After that a staff member was outside our door stating that we didn't pay for the room and demanded ID. I told him let me get dress and I would bring my ID down once downstairs I explained what happened when we arrived, and he said it wasn't put into the system. We go back to the room and tried the key, and it didn't work so I went back down there to get a key to get in the room he stated I deactivated the key because it was probably close to my phone but NO the key was not working anymore because he had activated keys for someone else. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND.
- 5/5
Clean , reasonably priced and Friendy
- 2/5
Hotel was close to the hospital and reasonably priced which is why it was chose. The parking lot is lined with barbed wire and they allegedly have cameras - ours (and 6 other cars) had the delight of waking up to broken in windows and items stolen. So clearly no one is monitoring the cameras. Staff member didnt care at all about the situation. Breakfast is a joke
- 4/5
This room was comfortable for the one night we were there. We had a little trouble with the TV but finally got it working. The man at the desk wasn’t very friendly and took a long time to get us checked in. We couldn’t figure out what all he was clicking on on the computer…. Other than that, it’s fine for a night or two. Oh, the hallway smelled funny, but the room didn’t have a smell at all.
- 4/5
There was no juice or coffee available with breakfast either morning of our stay.
- 5/5
Clean
- 5/5
Easy check in, nice staff. Close to everything downtown. Free breakfast. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Very nice service and clean room. I will definitely be returning.
- 3/5
The room was nice and spacious. The toilet is extremely low to the floor. Check in was at 3pm and house keeping was cleaning my room when I arrived at 3:30pm. The lobby floor area needed to have been mopped properly.
- 5/5
Clean and safe
- 1/5
So disappointed!! When we asked for another blanket, we were told they didn’t have any. The whole experience was terrible. The coffee machine was broken in the lobby and cars were broken into while we were there. We will not being staying at a best western any more!
- 4/5
Good affordable option when in Memphis.
- 2/5
Checked in around 5 p.m. Upon entering the lobby, we were buzzed in. There is bullet proof glass/plexiglass surrounding the reception area. There is a sign posted about frequent break-ins in the parking area. When we went to our room, the door was wide open, and hadn't been cleaned from previous occupant. Went back down to receptionist, and there was no one to be found....waited 5-10 minutes before anyone reappeared. You would think the receptionist and cleaning crew would be in contact with room availability. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend.

It was clean and convenient to the LeMoyne-Owen College.
- 4/5
We were surprised it was located in what appeared to be in a run-down area when it was among the medical schools. The rooms looked like they had been recently remodeled but had bad areas. Our area above our mirror was rumpled and actually peeling. The grout around the shower was not done well, the vinyl shade on the window was in bad shape. A pickup had a window taken out and stuff was gone.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay at this location. Staff was friendly, nice & assists with all accommodation request needed.
- 5/5
Very clean. I had special instructions an every one was met.
- 5/5
Good experience staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Nice
- 4/5
Hot breakfast was mediocre. The room was clean but it showed alot of wear and tear. They had the interlock to the building (which is about 3 feet wide) constantly locked, even during the day, which makes it hard to get your luggage into the building.
- 4/5
Good location in Memphis between downtown and midtown. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful in answering any questions. Nice clean place at a fair price.
- 3/5
The customer service was just average. The hotel is ok for one night. Breakfast wasn’t good. Bed was comfortable. The neighborhood didn’t look very safe; but also Memphis didn’t look safe. I went to Mississippi and it was much better. Only good attraction was Elvis house.
- 1/5
No parking, driver felt his vehicle was unsafe and decided not to stay
- 4/5
The coffee machine and breakfast was very good. The lady running breakfast was friendly. The beds were comfortable. The room was pretty large and parking was good. There were some maintenance shortfalls: the handle on the toilet was broken and the shower handle was broken. It just needs a bit of TLC.
- 4/5
Not much selection of snacks. Breakfast cleared away before end time.
- 5/5
Really nice place. Very clean and great staff.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff. Very nice and clean room. As somebody visiting from a small town, I felt quite nervous about walking the area to any close restaurants or shops.

Centrally located.

- 5/5

Apparently, according to other reviews below, it happened to others one week prior and is a regular thing here. Why is there not security? This hotel is negligent in it's efforts to prevent this from happening since it is a regular thing. I am highly disappointed in how the hotel is handling this matter. I will never stay here again.
