Sovana Inn

It's an older hotel but they've made the very best of it. Really clean, comfy bed/bedding, kind staff. I'd definitely stay here again.

The staff were friendly The hotel is right off a busy street and across from a car wash. It was extremely noisy; you can hear every time a car goes through the car wash, and cars and motorcycles going by all night. I wanted to swim but the pool looked dirty. The TV in the room wouldn't turn all the way off so there was a glow into the room at night which affected my sleeping. The A/C wouldn't run at night; it must have been on a timer which I couldn't cancel (I tried), so it was uncomfortably warm. While the tub, sink and toilet in the bathroom were clean, the walls were covered in dust and hair. Yucky.

Even the sign at the entrance is very faded/hard to read (red flag). The room was in terrible shape. Bathroom baseboards were filthy, in the tub the caulk was all peeling and the facet leaked. The hot water was HOT- and with the janky faucet it was difficult to get a tolerable temperature without scalding. Room: TV reception was spotty (even though it was a satellite) and I had to turn off the power strip to the mini-fridge because the whining was so loud I could not sleep. I don't know if the room itself was vacuumed- and linens clean, but the other stuff just made it all feel icky. They are apparently also remodeling a bunch of rooms so many were empty- giving the whole place an abandoned feel. My sympathies to the owner and staff but don't. Just don't. I know it is a good price- there's a reason...

Unfortunately, that was the only good thing about this property and maybe the coffee and fruit for breakfast. The room was not well kept. The bed was uncomfortable and the AC was extremely loud. We got maybe 2-3 hours of sleep because we kept getting woken up by the sound of the AC.

Staff was courteous. We did have an issue with a broken door knob for the bathroom. Also, the knobs on the tub/shower felt like they were about to come off. We did not check in on the breakfast. Facility was clean and in a good location. Exterior could be made more inviting, especially their sign.

Room was clean. However the lamp did not work, couldn't shut off TV and shower dropped all night. Didn't try breakfast.

Disappointing

The room was clean, updated and very comfortable, great bed. I will be staying there again. The one draw back is the $100 hold on my funds which have still not been released yet. The front desk didn't let me know if basically kept me from my funds for food, etc.

Had to wait longer than usual for someone to come and check me in. Office locked when I arrived and had to call number on note on the door. In the past I could always go into office and, if non one there, ring bell and someone came out right away. This time I had to wait and man came from upstairs outside and yawned the whole time he was helping me!

The location was ok. Initially my daughter and I did not have a room close to each other and she felt uncomfortable the 1st night. We talked to management about it the next morning and he upgraded her at no extra cost to the room next to me. That was amazing!!! I am fine with Sovana! I come every year to visit my elderly momma and will continue using Sovana for all my upcoming visits.

Nothing Cold pool, dirty rooms, outdated (pictures on the internet made it look nice) breakfast in the morning the guy prepping it was still doing it and you could tell he just ran across the street to buy for it said milk was in the fridge and was just a 1/2 gallon container just an overall bad experience $100 security deposit that took 5 days to fine my account.

Room was clean and quiet so I could get a decent night's sleep. No alarm clock in room nor kleenex in bathroom. At 7:15 in the morning the breakfast room was still dark and locked so no complimentary breakfast was available.

I took a chance thinking to support a local small independent...yet owners/management seemed to have very nice up to date vehicles...yet no evidence the owners are putting any $$ into facility... It is a 1960's built building ..minimal effort to alter the out dated interior...staff...is 1-2 at best for a 45 unit complex. Staff member nice and helpful was the highlight of the stay...

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice. However, the outside looks like a scene from a police movie raid on a motel. The motel sign needs repair and there were no lights on to help find the site. The pool was dirty, and parking was tight. From the outside, it looked seedy, but the interior was great.

Very convenient to the airport which is why I booked the room. When I booked online, listing showed they offered shuttled service to the airport, which was not the case.

When I arrived with my two children, the property was unsafe and not as advertised. There were escorts coming and going, homeless individuals loitering nearby, and clear signs of illicit activity. This created an unsafe atmosphere for me and my kids, and I feared for our safety. I would have left immediately and stayed somewhere else, but because there was a concert in town that night, there were no other accommodations available. If I could give this property zero stars, I would. Please process my refund right away, or let me know the fastest way to resolve this.

Fernando the manager was so kind to turn in the AC before we arrived. It located close to the freeway , lots of restaurants and stores. The bed the was very comfortable and the were hot and strong.

The room looked nothing as fancy as in the picture, which is very deceiving. It looked like it hadn't been updated much since the 1960s. There wasn't even a closet, just a rack afixed to the wall and a few hangers that didn't match each other. The A/C continuously runs and blows directly on the bed when it's cycling on. The air being blown was very cold and you can't change the air temperature, it just cycles the fan depending on the setting. It was hot outside, so turning it off was not a good option. They will charge you $200 if you smoke in the room, but they don't bother getting rid of the smell of old smoke, which is not so great. But the most annoying thing was relying on the soap dispenser in the shower... which was completely empty, as I discovered when I was already in the shower and wet. I would not return.

The breakfast room was a dingy place. Breakfast items were few. No water, milk or juice, even though there was cereal. The room was clean. To he fair, the man on duty made a few attempts to get wifi going, but without success.

I had a late night check in and Fernando was wonderful. I'm not good at parking so he parked my car for me, carried my bag and walked me to my room and made sure I was safely inside for the night. He is so kind, caring and took great care of me. He will treat every guest like they are his family. Management give Fernando a raise! He is the heart and soul of Sovanna Inn. Also, housekeeping did a excellent job as the room and bathroom were spotless. Nice comfortable bed and though hotel was pretty full it was very quiet. Enjoyed my stay.

Aged exterior. Kinda retro in a way. Inside of room was nice clean enough. A little dust here and there but not bad. Very clean bathroom lots of towels. Very hot water. Parking I can imagine could be challenging on busy nights. I was there on a Thurs. And parking lot was not quite full. Noisy other guests. Not the establishments problem just some inconsiderate guests. With the ac blowing drowns out most noise. Busy road out front during day. A little road noise. Ive stayed in much worse places. So not perfect, but perfectly adequate.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The breakfast options were too limited. There were zero protein options like yogurt or hard boiled eggs, which are common for continental breakfast.

The exterior looks a bit rough when you pull in, but the place is clean and comfortable. The proprietor is very nice and the hotel is a great deal overall. Very glad we stayed here and will stay again. If you’re on a budget, this is a great deal unlike some of the other places I’ve stayed in the area which are dirty and unsafe. Quite pleased! This is my new favorite motel when I visit family in Medford.

It was very outdated. Furniture very old. Worried I was going to break things if I touched them. Bed was not comfortable. Very stiff but the room was super clean and the customer service was impeccable

Check in was smooth but room given to us had not been cleaned so changed rooms. Room we had was warm, furniture was dated but we enjoyed that, bed was a little uncomfortable but manageable, shower was clean and functional despite broken curtain rod. First drive up the place felt sketchy but after check in, manager came flying towards us to welcome us and assure us a nice stay and next morning again told us about breakfast. There were no safety concerns and the area has several new food and shopping options. For the price, location, and general great attitude and attention from checking staff and manager we would stay again for sure!

The posted rating of the motel 8.2 does not reflect actual condition. I stayed one night and the morel is lower than 2 star motels, wifi was not working breakfast was very basic.

Fairly quiet although not in a quiet neighborhood. Front desk staff was great! Not using the shower as there is a number of spots in the tub that are in need of repair. Bathroom is very small. Bed is comfortable. Decent price on Expedia, but probably will not return. Parking lot has very small parking spaces.

I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend the place. The queen size beds are full size. Its a 50s or 60s motor inn. It's also got some kind of homeless camp across the street and people were yelling profanities at us as we left our car. I checked the car multiple times and fortunately it was ok. I have no idea how this place got as highly rated as it did but IT HAS TO BE A SCAM.

TV was much to be desired. In fact no TV. We were as patient as we could be but still no TV. Ended up just giving up on TV.

Seeing and hearing yelling homeless every morning across the street, did not inspire feelings of safety. It looked like no one cleaned the breakfast area in days as the garbage cans were overflowing and did not look like they had been emptied during our stay. And then there was the loud refrigerator and cracks in the wall. From the looks of the parking lot and grounds, it looked like we were one of the two units occupied and yet right underneath our room guys were partying into the middle of the night like they were drunk and on drugs.

Medford, Oregon. Fernando was always smiling always looking for ways to make things go from good to best for the guest. Five Stars for Fernando, and the Continental breakfast wes pretty good also....

Comfortable room and good breakfast. The grounds could use some sprucing up because the place looks a little rundown. But once you get into your room, it's clean and got everything you need.

We stayed only one night, but were satisfied with the accommodations and would stay there again if we're in the area.

You get what you pay for!

Basically a good place to stay for $80. But w/ summer rate over $110, Id pick elsewhere. Beds are fair, having baby-pee-pee plastic mattress wrappings...so for those sensitive to sleeping warm, sweating, you'll want to pass on this adventure. Room has everything you'll need and they all work well. A/C is OK , just noisy. Breakfast provided is great, using Kueric style coffee makers in breakfast rm. No waffles. Just stale bagles and taster w/ fake butter & packaged cream cheese. Fresh fruits in a bowl, not all exciting - but clean, nicely presented & very adequate. Enjoy!

If you’re not expecting the Hilton, and just need a clean room, bed and bathroom it’s ok for the $. Friendly and helpful staff.

This property is a little older but we are so happy we stopped here. The friendly staff and Fernando the next morning were cheerful and welcoming. They had a great little continental breakfast for guests in the morning. We highly recommend this little gem! If we are traveling on I-5 again we would stop here. Thank you for making our short stay a good one!

Booked the hotel solely on the Expedia rating of 8.2. Upon arrival it was clear that this rating was misrepresentative of the actual property. There was trash outside and the rooms had basically not been updated since the hotel opened with the exception of things that absolutely had to be repaired. We cancel our reservation and stayed elsewhere as this hotel did not meet our expectations based on the rating. There wasn’t even a comfortable chair for my elderly father to sit on in the room, only a wooden chair. We would not recommend this hotel if cleanliness and comfort are a requirement for your stay.

It doesn't look like much but this small and simple, older hotel was very welcoming and comfortable. This was my second stay as I was traveling along the 5. The manager was very helpful with carrying my suitcases up the stairs for me and everything was efficient and quick at check-in/check-out. I didn't eat the breakfast because sleep won over getting up for breakfast due to the comfortable bed. (I didn't want to wake and get up!) The water pressure in the shower really good as well. Overall, a good place to stop for the night and rest.

A good number of transient people pass by Sovanna Inn. The grocery stores in the area higher security to to patrol the parking lots. It seems less safe, although no threatening incident occurred nor any damage to my car.

Air Condition system was left on and it was blowing hot air. Sink clogged from normal usage. Notified the manager in the morning he was apologetic and looked like he would take care of the issues. Friendly staff

The desk person, Brian, is very personable and very helpful. The room was spare but very clean. The heating/AC unit has a fan that is very very noisy. Many of the TV channels are PayPerView. The accomidations are very adequate. I choose to stay again.
