Mark at the front desk was amazing! He was warm, welcoming, funny, and extremely hospitable. Our room was clean, but the bathroom was very tight in terms of space. The breakfast at the hotel was very good according to my family (I have food allergy issues and didn't eat anything). Hope was very good at making sure there was plenty of hot food for people during breakfast, and she was very professional. The other guy that worked breakfast seemed to get frustrated easily with people and was cursing at times too. But other than that, we had a good stay, and especially with the location, I would stay here again.

The staff was excellent, especially Phelan at the front desk and Lawrence in the breakfast room. People felt very comfortable hanging out in the lobby area, which is always nice to see. I couldn't turn my room temperature below 68 degrees. I usually set it at 66 for nighttime sleeping comfort.

A special thank you to Hope, who truly exemplified excellent customer service. She was friendly, personable, and always willing to help with any questions. This was an exceptional experience with no complaints whatsoever. I will absolutely stay at the Holiday Inn Express again on my next trip to Virginia!

The biggest sushi we had there is the first room we were given was not made up so they sent us to another one which was fine… And then 4:30 in the morning the telephone went off with a message, which was not able to attain. When I went to the front desk and asked about it, she said… Oh yeah all of the messages go on at 4:30 AM because we have a problem since they changed out the TV system. The telephone company will be coming soon to fix it. Not helpful as it woke us up.

The staff was very nice. I was initially on the 4th floor but they changed my room when I asked to change it to the first floor if possible. I really appreciated that. There was no bacon at the buffet and I was there by 8:15am. The biscuit was overdone but the sausage gravy was fine. I'm very cold natured and I could not raise the temperature in the room. It stayed around 70 and that is too cool for me. I don't know if they called maintenance to look at it because I had a funeral to attend. It was still 70 degrees when I got back that evening. All in all it was a good place to stay.

The breakfast was okay, but Laurence was the best. He was so cheery and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. He acted like he was happy to be there doing his job. Desk people were fine.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We stayed in a fully compliant ADA room. The roll in shower was very narrow so any over spray from the shower hit the curtain and then ran into the floor because of the floor slope. The only way to prevent flooding the floor was to angle the shower head towards the wall. That made it difficult to shower. Tried to use the hand held but the height positioner was broken. I booked this hotel because the comments indicated they had an excellent breakfast. The breakfast was okay. Pancakes were not available. The bananas were green. The coffee was good.

We’ve stayed here before and like the location of this hotel. Only negative would be that the bathroom floor was not clean . Generally this hotel is clean so not sure what’s going on this time . Also if you are allergic to green peppers stay away from the eggs, the last time we stayed here the eggs only one day had peppers but this time all three days the eggs were the same loaded with peppers and due to the fact that they were not that busy the cinnamon rolls which are usually really good were like dried out hockey pucks .

The fist 3 rooms were filthy finally got to the 4th room was fairly clean but door to get in the room the closer was replaced but who ever done should be fired!! We had to use our shoulder to push the door open which only opened half way wile it was pushing my wife back out the hallway stay away terrible

Breakfast was great at this place and the staff was very nice and friendly. Only problem we had were some ants in our room, but that was a pretty minor. Overall the property was nice and clean and safe. We walked over to IHOP for dinner one night. Rooms were comfortable and beds were great.

Property was fine but needs an area to sit in the lobby. Breakfast attendant would not let me sit in the breakfast area before opening breakfast. My family was sleeping upstairs. There was no where to go I had to sit on the floor in the hallway.

The night from desk clerk was very helpful and friendly also the gentleman that was in one the morning front desk and the guy that’s that working in the dining area very nice I would definitely stay there again

The staff was amazing.. We always stay at Holiday Inn Express because it is clean..I will have to say this was the worst one we have stayed at .. The room did not feel clean and smelled like dirty socks.

Exercise room was closed. Pool was closed-outdoor with no indoor.

Opportunities for improvement: Hubby had to tighten toilet seat, as it was so loose, it swung to the side a bit when the lid was lifted. For some odd reason, the red light on the phone was flashing when we checked in. Template missing on phone as to how to navigate options on the phone. Dialed ‘0’ and got friendly staff who cleared it. But then it started flashing again around 2:30 in the morning. Also needed to call desk again because TV was stuck on HDMI 1, and input button didn’t yield any results (couldn’t get it to satellite TV). For some reason remote was designed where the input button had to be pressed AND held for a bit before it would show options. Have yet to find a TV and remote setup where closed captions can be turned on.

we stopped and looked at the pool and told the children that after we go see family then we will be able to come back and go swimming and they were so excited. We came back and the pool was closed for the season. Saddest day ever

Everyone was Awesome

Overall it was a great experience. We were in town for a funeral and needed to stay overnight. The only thing that annoyed me was the loud exhaust fan in the bathroom that stayed on constantly when you turn on the light switch. Other than that it was a great experience.

The property had a mildew smell. The carpet was dirty my room bathroom was also not clean. The ceiling in the bathroom was cracking the property need a makeover.

Place wasn’t clean. Smelled of weed in the hallways 24/7. Staff was nice. Cleaners took our used towels and didn’t replace them. Walmart down the street was convenient. Plenty of things to eat around. Too pricey for what is offered.

Check in was easy, and stress free. The staff was friendly. Room was clean, easy to find, and easy to access. The power went out due to a storm, but the staff was very attentive and handled the situation very well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was it's supposed to be a non smoking property and the smoke smell in the building was very noticeable in the hallways and common areas. My room did not smell like smoke.

The power went out and they don't have a generator, so nothing works except emergency lights in hallway and there is supposed to be an emergency light in the rooms. Our room did not have a working emergency light,or a working safe, and the bedside USB didn't work. 90 degrees outside and they kept their front door open for policy reasons, which make it hot in the rooms with no A/C. The staff were friendly though

It was clean but there were quite a few little things that added up. Ice machine on our floor was broken, pancake maker was broken the whole 3 days, housekeeping did not come although we had already pre-tipped on the scan code, when we went for towels and washcloths since housekeeping did not come they were out of washcloths. Just seems like this one is struggling a bit.

Hotel was fine for a 1 night stay on the road. Breakfast was ok. Eggs were dry but potatoes were good. First floor was noisy.

There was no one at the front desk to check customers in for 30 minutes. They that is posted to call attendant was not working, there was no dial tone. This was unacceptable as we looked for and called out for assistance. Everything else was good. I’m not sure I would book this particular hotel again.

Very happy with my stay

I had another good experience at the Holiday Inn express. The room was extremely clean, the desk clerks attentive and nice, the coffee was good, and the little bit of breakfast that I eat was also good. I stay at Holiday Inns wherever I go because of their consistency from city to city.

Staff was incredibly friendly. They charged me an extra $5 per night to park my car in their own surface parking lot but I didn't know ahead of time. They changed out towels every day but never made the beds, refilled coffee pods, or any disposables. Good place to stay for a night but definitely not if you're staying multiple nights like I did.

Found long black hairs on the bathroom floor when we checked in. The room itself wasn't bad but after checking out we realized they charge $5.30 per night to park. This isn't a downtown hotel where parking is a premium. Absolutely insane to pay $5.30 a night for parking at at a rural hotel. What a shame!

The bed was very soft and even though I prefer a firm mattress, I was incredibly surprised that I slept like a baby. I haven't slept this good on the hotel bed in a very long time. The room and bathroom were very clean. Definitely will stay here again if I have to visit the area again.

The man, Lawrence, I think it was, who does breakfast was awesome..he had a great meal and coffee set up early and was so pleasant and cheerful. We stayed 3 nights for sport tournament and he made every morning great. Room was clean and beds comfortable.

The manager on duty was very friendly and check-in was very fast. The room was very spacious and extremely clean.

The hotel was right off the highway. Made the perfect stop in a long drive. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff very courteous. We enjoyed the breakfast and the coffee was fresh and good!

Bed was comfortable, shower was nice, Wi-Fi worked well - breakfast we skipped - looking for fruit and the only thing they had were some apples that were smaller than a tennis ball and didn't look appetizing. There are many restaurants around. Would we stay here again? Yes, if we wanted this particular area as there are only 2 choices and the other was more expensive, plus closer to the road. Otherwise we would pick somewhere less expensive in general.

Fruit flies everywhere, bugs, and mysterious hair and debris post room service cleaning if the bathroom.

When we showed up they gave us keys to two different rooms there were not ready yet so we were not able to check in until after our event; when we returned after midnight, they were having a system outage that was preventing people from entering their rooms with the electronic key system so we weren't able to check in then and were forced to leave to find elsewhere to stay as they said it would be over an hour and it was the middle of the night. I've called repeatedly and either got no answer or was told to call back the next day for a manager that I have yet to get ahold of and I've sent multiple messages now to get a refund with NO response or refund.

Our stay was amazing. We had time to make memories, dinner out was very convenient, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. For us, it was like coming home. The only thing we did miss was the pool. We did not realize it was closed because it was outside. However, that did not tarnish our stay. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Staff vacuumed while I was eating the very limited breakfast they had. Staff was eating more than the hotel customers. No bars of soap. Pool was in the shade and small. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

There was no water pressure in the shower

I do think that it is time to start upgrading/renovating the rooms with a fresher look (especially new carpet and linen). The sheets on our beds were badly stained. If the sheets are stained, get rid of them. The bathrooms could be upgraded and a little cleaner. Our TV didn’t work and after a couple of calls they changed our room. Although I appreciated being able to workout in the gym, it too could’ve been a little cleaner. I think a little more attention to detail and some renovations would’ve made a huge difference.

Room was clean, wasn't musty or damp. Only thing I noticed was the mirror in the bathroom was discolored around the edges and the tub had some rust otherwise everything was great. Staff at the desk was great and so was the very nice breakfast attendant. Only issue was folks banging on the walls at night and that wasn't on the hotel. Better than 90% of the holiday inns I've stayed at especially ones in Florida. Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it appeared well kept.

Took a long time for someone to show up at the desk to check us in. Property does not take cash for payment and breakfast was not well stocked. I would definitely stay somewhere else if you are in the area. Room carpet was also gross.
