Totally enjoyed my stay. Our room was clean and comfy. The only problem was our room, 125 was near the eating area and it got noisy at times.

Location! Pool was closed, my grandsons and husband was very disappointed.My husband and i traveled with my 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. We stayed on the same floor we were in 201 and they were in 208. Also the water pressure in the bathroom was very LOW! Handicap parking isn't the greatest, you leave and come back and you have to park and walk, unless you're let off at the entrance. Other then that, I give you guys a thumbs up!!!!

We had to ask for towels - room was not cleaned or clean towels left after our first night stay. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and apologized for our room not being cleaned.

Loved the cleanliness and friendly staff Most of the reason we booked this hotel was for the pool. We have a 2 year old and 3 year old that would have absolutely loved it while being there for 6 days but it was unfortunately closed for 2 weeks with no prior notice before booking. The exercise area was exceptionally small but could see it being of use for someone just trying to get active while being there

The breakfast was okay and the options were okay. The front desk staff was helpful, my room was not very clean and could use some updates definitely was not what I expected.

Hotel itself was nice I stayed from Friday until Sunday; no housekeeper came in at All No day the whole weekend to fluff pillow take dirty laundry no trash: when I was told front desk the excuse was “ short staffed “ but housekeeping was on our floor on the way out and When I entered the room NO WASH RAGS 2 hand towels and 2 big towels and one flower shower towel; so me and my guests Tonya’s with hand towel rags very unsettling feeling.And when I stated I was visiting from Charleston for a funeral and my days wasn’t to stop to ask for clean linen I was told I should of said something but she did apologize. Although of someone is staying over the weekend I feel it’s should have been a priority for clean linen and laundry pick up as well as trash. I’m supposed to be back for my birthday but really thinking of another hotel.

The shower the cleanliness of the room and hotel. Sarah whom worked at the front desk was amazing. Comfortable beds. The pool room was extremely hot but pool was cold. And a bit over priced.

Ii met someone for breakfast so I did not eat at the hotel. But zi have on previous stays and it was good. The the fresh baked cookies out longer.

There were some cleanliness issues in our room, but they were resolved as soon as they were noticed. They staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than usual! Lots of options, and easy to maneuver around the area, when when crowded.

Front desk staff were amazing. Very friendly! The bed was super comfortable. My only issue was the breakfast, it was never fresh, things were empty. I wasn’t able to get food the night of a snow storm so figured i’d be okay, just wait for breakfast in the am. I went down, there was only a few things to choose from. I asked twice for things to be filled as they were empty and people were waiting. The guy did NOT refill anything. I ended up just leaving.

We had no shower curtain on the tub/shower. Water came out all over bathroom floor and my husband almost had a bad fall! Maintenance working had been in room 209 working on the shower, as they left the empty parts box on the tub. I’m surprised housekeeping didn’t notice this box or that the tub had no shower curtain up.

We chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews. I have a fussy mother so she has to stay in nicer hotels. The hotel is nice, newer amenities but extremely noisy. We were on the second floor and didn’t sleep all night because of the people above us. We asked to be moved but they said they only had first floor, no sense in that. Second night the room was full the smell of weed from someone smoking next door. We told the staff and they denied it. We won’t be back. This hotel is expensive and not worth it in my opinion.

Staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Lots of kids there making a ruckus late into the evening. Tried to get the staff to intervene but they were overwhelmed by late night check ins so I had to address it myself as we needed to get some sleep for our early morning wake up. Probably need to explain to groups about the expectation for quiet hours after 10pm.

The staff were excellent! We had a very stressful beginning of the trip by leaving all of our luggage at home, but the front desk staff did their best to make things just a bit better. They were lovely.

When I tried to cancel the reservation, no one at the hotel would answer the phone—it just kept ringing. It is a clean Hotel, with Average mattress. Couldn't sleep in the night. Breakfast and overall place is good.

Very friendly staff. There are several types of lighting providing a cozy atmosphere. This hotel has a refrigerator and a microwave which is hard to come by any more. This would be my go to every time I'm in town if only it was easier to get in and out of the hotel. The hotel has one way in and out on a very busy road but if you can be patient it is worth the inconvenience.

Property is dicey at best. I was thankful they had rooms during a hectic Charlotte travel evening-- I soon found out why they had vacancies once I arrived.

The young woman who checked us in on May 16, 2024 was excellent. She was professional, pleasant, and had to deal with a lot of people needing her attention. The original room we were given had not been cleaned even though it showed it had been on her computer. The minute she found out, she was very apologetic assigning us another room which she personally checked to be sure it had been cleaned. Also, when we’re checking in there were 4-5 people in front of us and a couple behind us. She remained polite, patient and professional with everyone while efficiently getting everyone checked in and answering their questions. A real gem of an employee.

funky smell in room, bathrooms smell like sewage. don’t reserve a “suite” it will be smaller than the regular rooms. crack between the door and the floor lets light in all night long like a seedy motel. shower was clearly not cleaned out with dirt and hair at the bottom of the tub. subpar at best.

The overall stay was the quality we’ve always experienced at Holiday Inn Express & Suites. But this one in Matthews, NC has a true customer service gem for a front desk manager. I believe his name is James. Pleasant, personable, and excellent customer service skills…James’ interaction with my wife and I was the type of service that tells your clients they are his priority, they are appreciated, and that he would like to see them again. Job well done.

The only reason did not provide 5 stars was housekeeping was slack at times and had to be searched for to clean room and provide fresh bathroom items.

Good place to stay but we didn’t get much sleep because the people in the room directly above us sounded like 42 hippos running around at 4:30 am. We had our fan on full time and could still hear every step they took.

Room was very clean. My bed had a terrible squeak in it. Every time you’d move or turn over it would squeak. Didn’t have a working phone in the room. But overall it was a nice stay. I’m picky about where I stay because I’m a germaphobe and I can say this place was clean.
