The location The lack of communication between the staff and booking.com . There was construction on our floor that was loud and noisy not to mention the smell made us nauseous. They agreed to refund our money because they were unable to relocate us to another floor. We have not received our money yet

Literally would make sure we were taken care of. Ice machine next to our room was down, but they had another one on the opposite end of our room. They also were doing renovations so the paint on the walls weren’t finished in the hallways on the third floor. Also, our room 358 phone in the room didn’t work. Found out multiple rooms the phones weren’t working due to their renovations and being re-wired.

Property was clean and safe. It’s fine if you have a car, but otherwise there is really nothing to walk to for food, etc. and no sidewalks to walk on.

Was given a room near the exit door. I should have asked for a different room but decided to stick with it. As I feared, people came in and out all night slamming the door - not ideal for a god nights sleep. The hotel was fine, it was my fault for not trying to change rooms.

Slept so very well!!! Not sure if it was the bed and bedding or sheer exhaustion, but i havent slept any better in months!

It was busy. A couple of soccer teams were there. A couple of the boys were knocking on my door. They saw me on my balcony. I was at the hotel by myself. They told me at the desk i would get housekeeping. I was there 3 nights without housekeeping.

Hotel was fine for a night as we were traveling through the area. It appears that they have tried to do some renovations but haven’t quite completed the process. We didn’t eat breakfast at the restaurant but it looked fine. The area around the hotel was busy and we noticed what looked to be an abandoned car in the parking lot. Its presence made us a little uneasy as we arrived late at night but, all was well. Staff was very friendly and efficient upon arrival and check-out.

I have never in my life stayed at a hotel with no tea bags in the room. There were none in the lobby either. I went to the front desk and was told it would be $4 for one tea bag. This is outrageous, especially when you're paying almost $200 per night.

Definitely would stay here again it was convenient and staff was great. Breakfast was kinda plain but I’ve seen worse so still a win for me.

Because it's a Marriot, I expected a bit more than what I got. After reading some of the reviews I was confident this hotel would be great for my husband and I to spend 4 days in as we attended a conference in town. I was wrong. My room was sub-par for the price. Dirty carpet, areas on the wall that had been repainted a different color as though they were painting test swatches, the bedding was paper thin, the patio door had been left unlocked, and the room smelled terrible. Terrible! My husband and I had to go to Target to get a Glade Plug-In to deal with the dirty greasy smell. The small loveseat and throw pillows looked and felt like they hadn't been cleaned in 20 years. We didn't discover that we had a sliding patio door right away but when we did, we realized that it was completely unlocked - anyone could have gotten in at any time. The hallway smelled of cooking, and not the good kind of cooking - the greasy, spicy kind of cooking that cloys to the flooring and drapes, like someone had been living permanently in one of the nearby rooms. We didn't bring these issues up to the staff because we didn't want to be "those people" so we stuck it out until the last day of the conference, and though we planned to stay one more night to check out the town, we chose to pack up early and make the six hour drive home instead. The staff was so sweet and friendly and the very best thing about the property. Housekeeping isn't offered everyday either, by the way. Will NOT stay again!

One of the beds in room 228 is you can feel the vibration from something that kicks on and off through out the whole day and night.

Room looked good except I see the bed was Filthy! There was even a large vaping device that someone must’ve forgotten. I also asked for the room service and was only left clean towels. Bed wasn’t made, ice bucket bag wasn’t replaced, and new cups weren’t provided.

There are no real options for breakfast only paid Starbucks and the coffee is pricey even for that. They are undergoing summer renovations but during our day, the elevator also stopped working so that was fun checking out walking bags down the stairs. It’s aging property, but it looks like they’re catching it in time to renovate, but I don’t think I’ll stay again.

This hotel needs work. Our room was ok but the mattresses were not great. No little speciality items like makeup remover or lotions. The elevator was also broke. The check in n out people were nice.

Hotel did not coordinate with the building restaurant for hood cleaning. Set the building alarm off at 1:30am in the morning and the hotel had to be evacuated. This is an oversight that severely affected many hotel guests. Unacceptable for a hotel of this quality.

Location close to the event where i needed to ho, free parking. Breakfast service - they didn’t have many things when we asked for breakfast so we had to go somewhere else (e.g. no fruits, not working coffee machine, …). The only option was some unhealthy precooked meal. Nobody even said sorry, they expected that it’s normal probably.

Room was a bit run down.. but overall it met our needs for the night. Be careful parking. Don’t leave anything in the car. Two cars around ours had their windows broken out over night. Police were in the lot in the morning.

This is a nice hotel and a good location or visiting family in Indian trail, North Carolina. The property is undergoing renovation so there is some construction underway. The workers were very quiet and did not disturb our stay. Breakfast is not included but there is a diner in the main lobby. The staff were friendly and professional. We will stay there again when we travel to that area.

The room was fairly clean, but the sheets for the pull out couch were dirty. The front desk replaced them without any problem. The hotel was having some renovations done while we were there and work materials were left in the hallway which made it difficult to come through with luggage.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They definitely made the experience better. The hotel is old and needs updating badly - on almost all fronts (bathrooms, facilities, hallways). Also, most Courtyard Marriotts have decent TVs. This one does not. The TV was ancient and the channel selection barely worked. It also did not have streaming options. Almost every Marriot property I've stayed at has Netflix or some sort of streaming sign in option.

Staff was the absolute worst. I've stayed here more than 2 dozen times for work never been this disappointed and uncomfortable ever. Lady at front desk was rude and condescending. Fire alarm went off at 9pm (obviously that happens) but kitchen staff/server started the fire and then when we all had to come in from outside was absolutely so rude. The first room they out me in hadn't even been cleaned yet and the second room was so dirty and not kept up with. Again I've never had this expereince at this hotel until now. So im just so disappointed.

Location 5 days at 7:30 am sharp they were cutting tile right outside of my room for 6 hours each day. 1 day they cut down 8 HUGE trees RIGHT OUTSIDE OF MY ROOM. The trees branches were hanging on my porch. When they cut down the trees about 1000 bugs came into my room. They allowed a whole hockey team of kids to run up and down the hallways for 3 nights straight until 1 am. On the last day of my stay they cut the water off in my room. I couldn't flush my poop down the toilet for 18 hours and I couldn't take a shower before I left and I had something important that I had to go to. When I called the front all they did was say sorry. I bought breakfast for all 8 days and they seemed like I was a criminal every morning when I actually went down there to get breakfast. They questioned if it was for me and they never had the drinks that they said come with it. Also there were stains on the blankets and on the couch and the porch was filthy.

The coupon for the breakfast was good. The hotel staff were nice and friendly. In my opinion, this property needs a refurbishment. Especially, the bathroom where the bath and the shower seemed very antiquated. Also, the AC in the room makes too much noise and made it difficult to sleep.

This was my 3rd time staying at this location. I like it because of the office layout that the rooms have. However this room was a smaller configuration and it was not as comfortable. My office chair was broken and not very stable, the love seat was not comfortable either. There is also a limited and sparce hotel store if you will that is overpriced for what it has to offer.

After coming inside getting my room, I asked to be changed to the third floor however, the wheelchair that I had was too wide to even get through into the room so I will switch to a first floor bedroom, handy, capable room, which the bathroom light didn’t work then this third room I was had a older, but it was wide enough for me to get into and the shower, I could not use because it was rusty looking inside.

It was a great stay. The check in gal was super friendly and very helpful. Everything was very clean only thing I would say is that the carpet in the hallway was ripped but other than that it was very clean.

Couldnt see through it. Thats one of the main reasons I booked this place. Too bad we cant use the pool. At midnight the ac unit started making a loud noise. My daughter couldnt sleep. She went to the truck to cool off and get some sleep. She had a state test the next morning at 7:45. So much for a relaxing night.

There were lots of food stains in furniture and a ripped curtain. No towels in the gym. The staff was nice enough and thankfully we had vouchers for the bistro but that food is too expensive for what was offered.

Truck and trailer parking available. Over priced rates for what you receive. Definitely needs a huge make over and remodel for the price they charge. Upside is they have lots of amenities and the staff are wonderful.

It’s was a horrible stay. The rooms were dingy, dirty and unkept! The toilet constantly running and the ac was very loud. The carpet was dirty and the couch was soiled. Gross!

Good hotel but I didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get a shower only bathroom with 2 beds. The only shower only bathroom option came with one bed. My mom is 88 and can’t climb into a tub to take a shower. I called before booking and was told the accessible rooms came with walk in showers. I got an accessible room with 2 beds because my mom and I didn’t want to share a bed, thinking there were be a walk in shower. Well there wasn’t. Only a tub. Felt a little deceiving so just beware if you need a walk in shower.

This is a good property. Clean, friendly/helpful staff, convenient location, comfortable room. We like being able to avoid Independence to get to where we needed to go. The only thing we do not like is the every other day housekeeping. We followed instructions to request minimum service, but apparently there was a miscommunication. If wet towels arent going to be refreshed every day, there should be better fixtures for hanging towels to dry.

stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 consecutive nights. in both rooms the main room light (operated by the switch immediately inside the door) was inoperable. In the 2nd room the cover for the AC unit was missing, meaning the lights from that were shining all through the night. In both rooms the blinds did not close completely. There was only 1 single-serve portion of coffee provided in the room. Everything beyond that needed to be purchased from the "bistro". I don't stay in hotels often so maybe that's standard now, but was certainly disappointing.

This is my third time in this location in 18 months and I am always very pleased. Room was nice, king bed, just enough for me. These rooms are a little small for more than two people but they are always clean and the staff is always excellent!!

It was a place to sleep. Nothing special but we were in town for a funeral.

I booked a double queen room and got a single king with a pull out sofa. I showed them my confirmation email and they said there was nothing they could do. not Happy.

Excellent location for Matthews. The staff was extremely nice. Cafe and Starbucks right in the lobby is a huge plus.

Room had a musty smell to it when we first walked in, but then it faded after a while. Service was excellent.

Carpet was wet. No High Commode toilets seats. No Ice bucket. Rates were fair and people were nice.

Bed very comfortable. Good size room Quiet.

Overall good w a few spots that are rough around the edges like my bathroom and the pool

The property was in great shape. Clean, everything worked, the staff was absolutely professional and friendly.

We did not realize when booking that there is no free coffee or breakfast downstairs. Somehow we missed that. We had to pay $6 for drip coffee downstairs. My star rating doesn’t reflect that we did not see that. When we checked in the clerk was nice, and asked if we wanted the 2nd or 3rd floor. We decided 3rd bc no one would be above us. They failed to mention the hallway air was out on the 3rd floor. When we came back from dinner I asked if they knew the air was out and they said they did. It would have been nice if they said when we made our choice of floors “By the way the air in the hallway is out on the 3rd floor, and the available room is very far from the elevator”. It was EXTREMELY HOT in the hall. Also, the room smelled like my grandmother’s basement. Musty. The air conditioner was excellent and kept us cool inside the room and the bed was comfortable. Other wise this would have been a one star review. Choose the other hotel nearby with better ratings and free coffee if you don’t need a bar.

The room was very clean beds were comfortable. The pool area was clean and nice. Erin at the front desk when we checked in was very friendly and helpful.

Close to many places

Someone opened my room door two times. One in the afternoon and the middle of the night. Management said it was housekeeping checking rooms in the afternoon & they made a mistake. However housekeeping did not say “housekeeping” “sorry wrong room”“perdón” nothing. Just opened the door realized it was locked with the latch and walked away. When I got to the door there was no one in the general location. There are no cameras in the hallway only on the elevators. Seems extremely sketchy. I was also told no one accessed the room in the middle of the night even though my personal travel alarm went off. I felt dismissed when it was brought to the attention of management & heard excuses. Didn’t feel safe & will not stay there again when I come to visit family. It was giving “trafficking”. Not safe at all. I should be able to feel safe while visiting & not have to have 3 different locks on the door to sleep

Rooms were not ready at 3 pm.

The area around the drain in the bathtub was black and needed to be scrubbed! The poorest Courtroom room I have stayed in. Check in was wonderful as the staff was efficient and pleasant!

We always stay here when we visit Matthews . It's always reliable .

However, my room was not serviced at all, ice machine was always empty, elevator was out of order, and curtain would not close all the way. However, the front desk staff was most helpful at checkin.

This was second time at this property and it was a great time they have great staff and clean hotel.
