First floor room with marina views was excellent. The outdoor pool and hot tub were a great place to relax and enjoy the views. We didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant, but the service at the coffee shop was great. Thanks for the wonderful trip.

Also loved the service and food at the in-house restaurant. Everything was delish especially the lamb lollipops!!! The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, it was easy and fun staying at the Marina del Ray hotel and will definitely stay there next time we are in the area.

Amazingly comfy beds, pillows, linens. Great balcony. Incredible restaurant! Also loved having a good takeout coffee, snacks in lobby. Hanging out jet lagging at a marina is mesmerising. Did not enjoy the cigar smoke and cigarette smoke that wafted up from walkway below. Gross.

Hotel fee included $20/day credit and 2 hours free use of borrowed bicycle. Amazing location surrounded by the marina. Have stayed there a few times and would go back. Recommend Marina view rooms.

The start of my trip was great the first night. The following days the jacuzzi wasn’t hot, and the issue continued the following days. I also noticed the towel rack was empty as well.

T Parking is valet parking ONLY and cost $52/ night! The room is not sound proof… one can hear the outside and upstairs noise. Restaurant is pricey.

The location was another huge plus - Being able to walk right over to Trader Joe’s was so convenient, and our room was spotless and very well maintained; after a busy day, we loved returning to our room and sitting on the balcony admiring the view- it was lovely The only downside was the mattress, I preferred my mattress a bit firmer - Other than that, everything else was wonderful, and we’d happily stay there again.

Lovely pool, staff were great, nice room location I thought it would be a nicer area, with more amenities. We visited Kazu Nori close by for food which was great but everything else was a long walk or cycle or uber away

I especially want to call out a great experience with one of the front desk personnel. Marlee went above and beyond to make sure we got the room suits our needs. She made our vacation much more enjoyable. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Nice space but seriously lacking. Asked for the room to be taken care of by 1 PM since I was having company, that wasn’t accomplished. Paid for a room upgrade and they put me on the first floor next to the concierge’s desk (super high traffic area). Went to take a shower in the morning and the water never got hot, only luke warm. Better to stay at a holiday inn!

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel (we were there at start and end of our holiday). Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Location is good as right in the heart of the Marina - lots of good walks by the sea close by. Also close to Venice / Venice Beach - 5/10 mins by Uber or an easy bike ride - the hotel has bikes for hire. We were really lucky that we got complimentary hires as there was a bit of disruption in the hotel on the day (smoke detector testing) and managed to cycle to Santa Monica and back on very good cycle route. The pool and jacuzzi were very good, and also a nice bar with terrace looking out to the Marina. There are no rates including breakfast. There is a small coffee shop at the hotel with a small selection of pastries - but there are other breakfast options close by - Alfred Cafe is good. There is a car park but is Valet Parking only - so a charge for this plus tips.

The big 2 issues with this property: "valet only" parking ($52/day!) and $40/day resort fee. They did say I would have a $20/day credit against the $40/day resort fee and I could just grab waters or sodas from the deli in the lobby or against room service. This was helpful but really? $40/DAY resort fee ON TOP OF $52/DAY parking? This is excessive. Also, while I was there, they were having an annual fire alarm testing situation and warned me that the day after I checked in, there could be some alarm sounds. SOME? The fire alarm went off every 5-10 minutes ALL DAY. It was very irritating especially since it was my first day there and I was very tired from traveling and had no plans to leave that day. I went to the desk to lodge my concern and other guests were there as well, even to check out. Other minor issues: mini fridge froze everything within 24 hours, no control; ran out of shower gel day 2; no hooks for towels in bathroom; ordered from the restaurant one time and the food was not great, I basically sent it back and you have no control over tipping -- it is automatically added; also, pretty much only seafood onsite; lots of wear and tear in the room -- broken drawer rail, torn curtains, broken curtain pulls, etc.; antiquated phone system. And yes, I did report these issues to the desk and they seemed interested in fixing!

We loved our stay at the Marina Del Rey Hotel! The staff was friendly and accommodating and we loved the laid back vibe! My only suggestion would be to expand the dinner menu for room service. We were disappointed with the very limited menu. Other than that ~ a total hit!

I stayed here many times several years ago due to business trips for meetings in the area. It had just been renovated at that time and was convenient for LAX but also a great retreat from the hustle. I booked here again for this trip due to local meetings and really didn't expect the hotel, rooms etc to be in the same condition as I remembered, thoughI was wrong. Everything still feels fresh and well kept. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the surrounding marina views are so unique.

⸻ I stay here often and always enjoy the location, especially the close proximity to LAX. The area around the marina has been cleaned up beautifully, making it a really pleasant place to spend time walking along the water. The bar scene at the hotel is lively, particularly on weekends and during live music nights. The restaurant is also excellent, with a great selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The seafood tower is fantastic, and the lobster cocktail was a standout. The mixologists behind the bar are also top notch. Another big plus is the walkability — you can easily get to Venice, along with great shopping and restaurants nearby. Overall, it’s a great place to stay whether you’re visiting Los Angeles or just passing through.

The restaurant has fantastic food, friendly bar staff, and beautiful marina views. You can walk to Trader Joe’s, REI, the Venice Beach Boardwalk, and the Playa del Rey jetty. It’s about 20 minutes from LAX, making arrivals and departures easy. Venice’s restaurant scene has kept its cultural vibe, and I still enjoy visiting my longtime favorites. The nearby wetlands are a peaceful bonus. Service at the hotel is consistently great, the property always smells fresh, and I love watching the yachts in the harbor. The downsides: valet-only parking can get expensive, and the gym is quite small. If you’re only staying a couple nights and using Uber, though, it’s an easy choice. This remains my go-to whenever I’m in or passing through Los Angeles.

Beautiful location, hotel has a real retro California feel to it. Staff are amazing , very attentive and outgoing . Loved our room on the third floor overlooking the Marina, stunning views. The pool , Salt restaurant and the outside bar with fire tables were awesome. Did feel the valet parking at 52$ US was ridiculously high, and so for only 5$ a day we parked in the public parking lot which was only a short distance away. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel, proximity to everything is great.

The hotels location is unbeatable and it has beautiful views and great restaurants & shops just a few minutes walk away. The service is good, rooms are comfortable. The only problem is parking at $ 50 plus a night it is too much. For guests staying in the hotel it should be lower. Rest a good comfortable hotel

Nice property, great staff, comfortable room, quiet location. I appreciated that my reservation was fully refundable until 48 hours before checkin. There is a city parking lot nearby to avoid paying the outrageous valet rate.

Beds are comfy and clean, the restaurant is great, and the gym is good. I always enjoy staying here. Also, the showers are big and very clean. I always recommend people stay here - the value is amazing.

Parking lot fee too much per night ($52). Top floor can hear a humming sound from what I believe it the air conditioning machines on top of the roof. The king size room was just okay but the bathroom was extremely small. Wife and I couldn't go in together.

The fridge didn't work in one of the rooms, guest service was either really good or very bad and neither of the rooms were what we booked (double beds when booking deluxe king rooms). One room was the first room next to the lobby and full line of sight to the onsite restaurant so did not open the curtains in order to maintain privacy.

We had a very nice two-night stay at the hotel. Room was very nice - clean, nice big towels, comfortable bed and a quiet HVAC. Staff at the front desk and housekeeping were very courteous. The only minor negatives: no ice machine on first floor (had to go to 2nd floor); restaurant supposed to open at 7:00 am but both mornings, had to get kitchen staff attention to get seated and served. Restaurant food was very good and the service was also very good (just not prompt in opening in the morning).

The location was very convenient to shopping and eating and visiting the surrounding beaches. The room service was exceptional. The valet gentle men were very professional and displayed the best customer service. The ATM in the business center did not work and i could not tip the valet on the first day. Although my bank is at the end of the road. that helped with getting cash. The pool was closed unfortunately. I would have liked to take a dip.

The room was very tidy and spotless.We had 2 queens with a marina view. The view and balcony were lovely - very relaxing to start and end the day. The staff were very friendly from front desk, to coffee shop to valet.

My one and only complaint is the parking price, especially where I didn't require or really want valet service and still insane fees. Not that parking is easy to find or cheap anywhere in southern coastal California. Only complaint

Stayed a couple of nights before a cruise. Lovely setting in a clean and safe marina area with shops and restaurants in walking distance. Room bright and clean with spacious balcony overlooking the boats. The only minor negatives were a very noisy bar - it was quite busy with nobody behaving loudly but a very low ceiling with almost all hard surfaces so inevitably noisy. The bathroom had poor lighting at the sink which made putting on make up difficult. Bring your own illuminated mirror!

We stayed here on NYE and we had less than 24 hrs in LA before heading on to Mexico. This hotel is perfection. It was raining, but the heated pool and super hot tub distracted us from that. The bar had a great atmosphere, and the beds were like falling into a cloud. I just wish we’d had more time here!!!

Front desk clerk at check-in and checkout was exceptional. Unfortunately, I had a two star experience at dinner in the bar.

I would never stay here again! You can tell this is an old hotel. You can here everything that goes on. Everything that we tried to order we were told sorry we are out. I ordered 1 lb of king crab claws and they gave me snow crab! I told them this is not what I ordered and was told they were out of king crab. I told them I would eat it but im not paying the same price and was told you are still getting a lb of crab. I tried to explain king crab costs a lot more than snow crab but they wouldn't listen so I sent it back. TV would not shut off and stayed lit all night. Bathroom is so small you could hardly move around.

Hairs all over the bathroom floor, shower dirty, chairs rusted on balcony, debris on the floor. Love the location and staff was nice.

Unfortunately this place needs an update . The staff was excellent. The views were amazing . Lobby upholstery was stained ( I didn’t even sit down so gross) room was musty, Tiles in room were loose and missing grout. No glassare in the room, just 2 plastic cups . Chair at fire pit fell apart as friend was sitting in it. Ripped pillows at pool beds. Simple things like a free water or coffee in the lobby for guests should be standard. This should not be a 4 star hotel. This was our 3rd hotel in the trip and the 2 others were superb.

Staff was very helpful with any questions we had. Room was clean as well the outside patio / pool and the hot tub. Bar area was nice with a nice bon fire in the evening. Valet parking, easy parking, easy to get the car just txt a number before going down and it’s right there. Stayed 3 nights. Would definitely stay again.

Terrific restaurant and a great breakfast bar. Staff was nothing but friendly and helpful, room was clean and bright. You can't beat the view of the marina. Great place to stay. From valet to check in/out the staff were great. Room was very nice, great view of the marina. Breakfast was delicious. Only issue was lack of garbage bins on the outside edge of the property. This is a dog friendly hotel but not a lot of places to throw dog waste away without going back into the property.

Staff especially valet parking staff. Had my vehicle ready at 2:30 am when I asked. Great food as well.

You can easily walk to the number 3 Big Blue Bus stop which will take you to Venice or Santa Monica along Lincoln Boulevard; it’s lovely also to walk around the Marina itself. I got confused extending my stay and this App and the hotel cooperated to help me sort it out. I loved the spacious room, airy balcony with marina views and the charming pool area

Great spot on the marina with shopping and restaurants within walking distance. It was also a reasonable walk to the beach. The hotel was clean and quiet with plenty of space in the room and a cute outdoor patio where we enjoyed our morning coffee. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!

The room was great with a wonderful view. The only thing they could work on is the room had an unpleasant odor. The staff was friendly and great food and drinks.

Breakfast was good however expensive. Cafe was a good option.

The rooms are super clean and the bed is so comfortable. We looked up the pillows, they're so comfy I wanty own. The pool is amazing and heated. The staff is wonderful. This was my second stay and I'll be back again for sure.

Very easy and professional check-in. Valet parking is way way way overpriced though and the toilet paper is the roughest toilet paper of I’ve ever experienced. The room is clean and comfortable

Great value for the money. Clean, good looking hotel. Rooms was pretty good, not amazing. I guess this is pretty common for LA but the area is not walkable. A small hotel. Warm pool. The marina is also packed with boats, it’s not like a nice waterfront view, though there is some visible water.

Great little hotel for anyone visiting LMU. Very close to campus, pretty views, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful small pool and hot tub overlooking marina.

Little outdated hotel, needs to be renovated, very worn mattress and bad smell in the room. Also not very clean.

Our first room had a bad smell and felt stuffy (issues with AC) so we wanted to move. Staff was very accommodating and kept us updated til the new room was ready. Second room was much better. AC was cooler. Beautiful view. I would definitely come back

Nice hotel, clean/modern rooms, restaurant on site (a bit pricey), however, the parking is valet only at $52 a night. Only other option is to park about 5 min away in overnight public parking which is not secured or convenient. Be aware that there sometimes are seals hanging out in the marina and can be heard in the middle of the night.

My family and I loved staying at this hotel. We enjoyed walking around the marina in the mornings and restrauls were easy to walk too.

Lovely location by the marina. Nice sun patio and pool nearby. Pleasant bedroom and shower room. Didn’t try the restaurant or cafe but walked a few hundred yards to an excellent Italian restaurant. Parking is valet only at $52 per night which is extortionate but cost of hotel is reasonable.

This hotel is truly a gem and is now my go to place in La. Perfect location and such a beautiful area. The hotel was a great retreat for long days and then pool/hot tub was my go to every morning and evening. The staff was amazing and I can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay! The setting is beautiful and the hotel very nice. The beds and pillows are super comfy. We really enjoyed the pool area and the live music in the bar. Added bonus the sea lions :)

This is my fourth or fifth time staying here. I love the hotel. It’s everything that I love about Southern California: walkable, oceanfront, marina view, trendy restaurants, and people watching. I’m from here so it says a lot that I choose to stay here instead of with my parents.

Nancy was so helpful with our check out! Our flight wasn’t until later - let us store our bags and hang at the pool! Thanks for making it easy and enjoyable!

It’s not a hotel it’s a motel

My room did have the terrace with a view of the marina as advertised, but you had to look beyond the parking lot. Plus, since my room was the first off the lobby, the valet station was right outside the room, so there was a lot of activity and noise at times. And there was a little smell in the room, so I did have the terrace door open to air it out.

Everything was amazing except the bed was very noisy they need to do something about it

Beautiful setting, pool with food service

The rooms were good, but unfortunately, we had a bad experience with the restaurant at the pool. I was charged for drinks and food that I never received, which was very disappointing.

Services (restaurant SALT on site) should be massively improved, waiting time are massive and since they are open to people outside of the hotel, waiting times are ridiculous for breakfast (over 1h). Hotel is really good and rooms have perfect view over the marina. Would be great if they offered parking more affordable… and didn’t force valet

I try to stay here as much as possible with my family. I rarely go to hotels and dont leave the property, but they are the exception for me. The vibes are 10, the bar 10, the pool and jacuzzi 10, restaurants 10.10s across the board! They are so accommodating.

I love the neighborhood. It’s very walkable and anything I need is within walking distance. If I get a good room, the view is amazing. This time I didn’t have a great room with the view.

Loved walking around the marina. Very safe very nice warm heated pool and hot tub. 10 minute walk to Trader Joe’s and Ralph’s grocery store. Many food options walkable as well.

The view on the backside of hotel was amazing. Room service arrive quickly. Food at SALT was delicious! This hotel was the right amount of upscale mixed with welcome and comfort.

The bed was simply comfortable. Good sleeping bed. The overall Hotel does need some updating. Everything is dated but clean. We come every Summer for our getaway to the coast. Conveniently located to everything, especially restaurants.

This was a great stay. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and the location is prime. The only downfall to my stay was incredibly loud neighbors. This was not a direct reflection of the hotel, but it was a pain at times. Other than that, all was well!

I am in a wheelchair for a broken ankle and they were able to get us into a room that accommodated everything I needed. Beds were so soft and everyone is so friendly. The restaurant is amazing. And the pool is heated and luxurious. I requested a late checkout and was a little later and they gave us a half hour extra. I was so pleased I will for sure be back again. Thank you Marina Del Ray staff for the best stay.

This is a really nice boutique hotel. It’s been renovated recently, so it’s clean and up to date.

Stayed here with my mom for a staycation. We were continually impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff were. Room was great, hotel restaurant was great. We did the Seafarer’s afternoon tea and it was such a fun experience. Highly recommend and we would absolutely stay there again.

10/10 recommend staying here! We right away got greeted by the parking staff, took all our bags down into our room while we parked! Check is was not until 4pm but let us check in at 2pm! Pet friendly! We definitely had an amazing experience here staff was very attentive and clean!

Property is dated. Feels like high end 3 star hotel. Carpets in room need to be replaced, air conditioning wouldn’t set to the temp you wanted it so the room was always muggy and warm. Weird smell in room, something between cleaning solution and musty odor. Someone unfortunately pooped in the pool and it was shut down (in front of us) rather than drain it, they reopened it the next morning. Prior to that, they didn’t have towels at the pool because they were short on staff and towels.. Service at the breakfast place was incredibly slow. Overall, this property could use some love…updates needed.

A very nice Marina del Rey hotel. We enjoyed excellent food and service at SALT. Our room, with a harbor view and view of the pool was quite nice; clean, comfortable and quiet.

I will definitely return to this hotel. You will not beet the top notch service from the valet parking to check-in to food service by the pool! Great longe and happy hour. Beautiful (and busy ) pool area and huge hot tub. Plenty of tables and poolside lounge chairs. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, other than the sound of guests by the pool. However, with the sliding glass doors shut, even that was quiet. The balcony is large with two chairs and a table. They do have rooms overlooking the other side of the Marina on the restaurant side, that side gets full sun. I chose the poolside, marina view. Lots of space to walk along the Marina and plenty of restaurants nearby. It is a very quick drive to Venice Beach or Santa Monica Pier as well. Whether you want to lounge poolside or get out a bit this is the place to treat yourself. Also, June through August is Sunday Funday by the pool. Tacos and DJ music till 6 pm. It was a really fun atmosphere. The rest of the days were very peaceful. I recommend this hotel as a fantastic vacation experience.

A special shoutout to Paola from housekeeping, who was assigned to clean our room and helped us recover our forgotten laptop charger after we checked out. Her integrity is truly appreciated, and the front desk made the pickup process quick and easy via email. We were happy we didn’t need to replace it which would’ve costed us. Overall, MDR delivered comfort, service, and thoughtful touches that made our staycation feel like a true getaway. We’ll definitely be back! I recommend to anyone staying to walk to local eateries and stores nearby, it’s a really cool way to do some yacht sightseeing. If you’re lucky, you might see a sea lion or two.
