This hotel was not very focused on the customer. There was a long set of stairs to the 3rd floor with handrails that looked a bit shabby. The manager was nice enough to carry my bag to my room. The space meant that the customer had to walk outside in the somewhat busy environment to get anywhere. I believe that a garden nursery next door had closed, and the view of it outside my window showed a mess, almost like everying was thrown aside as garbage. When I mentioned it, I felt that the male manager just minimized any importance in my opinion.

This was a great place to stay close enough to the beach for a whole day layover in LA (about a 15 min walk to Manhattan Beach). Its an older motel but the price is good! I'd stay here again.

I enjoy my stay and appreciated how quiet it was. The only suggestion would be to make sure the room is aired out properly. I booked a non-smoking room but as soon as I walked it I immediately smelled cigarettes. I carry room deodorizer with me always, so a few sprays got rid of the smell.

Free parking was nice and it's only a 15-minute walk to the beach. My only two complaints were that the pool was closed the entire time I was there and the shower was so low that I had to crouch way down to wash my face and hair. The shower head wasn't adjustable either. I'm 6'2" so I've had to lean down a bit for certain showers before, but never like this. I think even a 5'7" or 5'8" person would have trouble with this shower.

The room was in need of some updating for pricing asked. Minor wall repairs on drywall. Bed was okay but aged. No coffee in room. Nice place to eat just opened in parking lot. I just needed a place to sleep and for that it was okay. Very polite and helpful at check in.

Really, I have only good things to say about this place: very friendly check-in, great location, and great value. If you have a car, there is free parking ( spaces are tight). If you come without a car, you can walk to everything from the beach to restaurants to grocery stores. Extra comfortable beds and a quiet evening's sleep.

Easy check in and out. Room was clean and sufficient for our needs. There's no in room coffee maker, I was hoping for a hot water source to make tea. The location is perfect, with lots of food options close by and easy to get to the highway. There is construction going on across the street that can be noisy starting in the morning, but otherwise it was quiet. No noisy occupants while we were there for a week. Room was cleaned daily and towels changed out during the clean. I would stay here again.

Clean room. Upgraded room was spacious and the decor was simple and nice. I liked the efficient layout of the kitchenette area and refrigerator was larger than the typical hotel sized one. Beds were comfy. Quiet despite being sold out. Parking was full late night but managed to find a spot. Front desk staff was kind and accomodating. I would stay here again due to proximity to walking the Manhattan Beach neighborhood behind the hotel and close to grocery stores/restaurants nearby. Good value for the area and glad I paid for the upgrade. It was worth it.

This is a "hidden gem" of sorts because of its great location, affordability, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and free parking (including some covered spots). I only stayed 1 night, but because it's less than a mile to the beach I spent a lot of time at the beach, walking to some cool breweries and restaurants, and even going for a run in the area. There's such a laidback, friendly vibe in this area, and the staff matches that with their friendly service with a smile.

This gets 5 stars for what it is: an fine inexpensive hotel in an excellent area at a reasonable price. It has large clean rooms that contain comfortable beds, a sitting chair, desk, refrigerator and microwave. It's almost like having your own studio apartment. The couple that owns and runs the place are warm, alert to guest's needs and live on the premises. I would stay here again anytime. In short, this is a clean, inexpensive, conveniently located, well-run hotel.

Room had most everything needed in it and was clean, but quite dated with some paint peeling. Hard to sleep: Hot, stuffy room, and A/C wall unit blasted off and on loudly all night, waking me up regularly. Even "downstairs" rooms required lugging suitcases up two small sets of stairs. Would not recommend unless you cannot afford anywhere else.

It seems like they are in the middle of a remodeling project. I saw photos of the hotel on Google and booked based on those photos and then when I walked into the room, it was as if I was in a motel from 40 years ago. So then I went into the Expedia app and saw that the photos did match the subpar room that I had just walked into. So then I took a walk around the block and considered if I have to just suck it up and accept it because my time was limited or if I complain. So I went to the front desk and they said that I had booked a standard room and that an upgraded room would be an additional $30 a night which altogether came to an additional 60 or 70 bucks. When they showed me the upgraded room, it was as if I was in a completely different hotel. It was jarring how much better than my original room this new upgraded room was. So I decided to pay the extra and take the remodeled room. The rest of the day was good. The cost was probably reasonable? And I get it, if you’re in the middle of a remodeling project, some of the rooms are gonna be upgraded. But the quality difference between these two rooms was comical. Anyway, the staff was great. If I knew I was gonna pay the extra amount I would’ve probably chose in a different hotel

This place is really nice and convenient lots of food options and supermarket close by with the greatest guava pastries and a sushi place in a mile walk to Manhattan Beach. It could do with a bit of a facelift for some rooms and the pool area but that’s happening in the future apparently

Staff was kind and attentive. Room, while a bit dated, was clean and comfortable. I slept in earplugs, because it's on a busy road, and there was construction across the street, but it was fine. I really appreciated the parking and being walking distance to multiple restaurants and, most importantly, the beach. A short drive to Trader Joe's and has a fridge and microwave in the room. I would definitely come back here. It's a great part of Manhattan Beach.

No real anemities in the room, not even the basics, i.e. an ironing board, but no iron, no coffee machine, no phone (to even contact front desk). Room smelled very stuffy and there's no ventilation system in the bathroom, hence small window had to be left open. Must allow water to run in the sink for about 2 minutes otherwise the smell of it (that of the release of air from the body after being captured for many days inside the body after a diet consisting of boiled eggs only) will not allow a human and the smell to coexist in the small space. However, front desk staff was very nice, check in process was smooth, and while anemeties were lacking, requests were quickly addressed and fulfilled. Customer service is KEY and scores big for me. We spent very little time in the room and we knew this beforehand, thus--the room, the room worked for us for our 4 day stay in the area.

Closer to the beach but not sure if it was worth the old and dirty conditions of the room. Free parking was nice but we still drove to the beach and paid to park. Zero soap or conditioner in the shower and room reeked of marijuana. We had to buy air freshener from the nearby target to kill the smell. Linens from the 1980s and the TV never connected to channels without static.

Very friendly staff and people I've encountered After a while, the bed gets a bit uncomfortable (for a week stay) just wish the mattress is softer. Although the beach is walking distance, I just wish there weren't any steep hills to walk on.

When I checked in, there was no electricity in my room. I asked for another room and the employee said indignantly that I would have to pay more. After about half an hour, he made some calls and was able to fix the electricity, but there was no apology. The room was very loud with traffic noise. Next time will go to the Wave hotel—same price but better rooms and service.

Manager wanted to argue about everything. He was more concerned with his feelings than actually doing what was right for the customer. He kept fulfilling promises he could not deliver. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MY TIME AND ONE OF THE LEAST ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCES EVER WITH A HOTEL!!! THE MANAGER TRIES TO MAKE THE REALLY SIMPLE REALLY DIFFICULT. . . I WILL NEVER BE BACK AND YOU SHOULD NEVER GO THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! YOUR TIME IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TO HAVE TO LISTEN TO ONE WORD THIS GUY HAS TO SAY ;) HE WILL PROVIDE ZERO VALUE AND WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! ;(

My daughter and I stayed at the Seahorse Inn for the night after seeing a concert at the Kia Forum. The room was clean and had satisfactory amenities. The customer service was excellent. The location was good, close the concert venue and also many restaurant options in Manhattan Beach, and parking easy an accessible. Although the rooms are basic and not updated, I would definitely stay here again and appreciated the costumer service.

Great location with a car. Free parking is a bonus and was a lovely safe, clean area. Staff were really nice and helpful too! Not enough pillows on the bed and duvet was very light so got very cold at night.

While this property is a bit older, it was clean and freshly painted, and everything worked. Also, the gentleman at the front desk was friendly. Just a few minutes from he beach, I would stay here again.

When we checked in, I was asked if I got the memo? Apparently, the memo read do you want to upgrade your room for $30 a night because they're renovating the property? I never got a memo? No, we chose not to upgrade our room. First of all our toilet didn't flush we had somebody come and look at it. He said he fixed it but he didn't so we had to pull on the chain every time somebody use the restroom. The comforters and chairs all had cigarette burns on them. And, there was a noise above our room that went on and off all day and all night we couldn't figure out? We assumed it was either the heater/air conditioning, but I don't know why they would need it it wasn't that hot or cold. I'll never stay there again. Overall it was the worst experience I've ever had at any Hotel, Motel or Inn.

The host was very friendly and helpful when we arrived - we ended up paying more to upgrade to a better room as we weren’t happy with the standard room due to it being very basic and dated. The upgraded room was a vast improvement but it would have been nice to have some basic items such as a hairdryer or iron. There was a kitchenette in the room which was nice, but the cupboards were all completely empty, not even a bottle opener. The noise from the road was very loud, especially in the morning, even though we were quite far back from the road - I think the doors/seals could me more soundproof.

I enjoyed our stay here. We only stayed for one night but location is great next to the beaches and this was reasonably priced compared to other hotels and motels in the area. The owner was working the front desk and he was very friendly. It’s clean, good accommodation at a decent price in a great location. Definitely recommend.
