did not get the room I "thought" I booked. We were put in a different BUILDING and our room was in the very back. Our window looked into the alley behind the building. Staff had an attitude like, oh well. I will never stay there again. 500 was NOT worth this motel for 2 nights.

We enjoyed staying in this quaint motel. It felt like a step back in time. We had a standard ocean view room. It was clean and they even had Charmin toilet paper. We took advantage of the free bikes and had a great ride to Redondo Beach. Close restaurants and close to the beach and strand. We would definitely stay there again!

This property was a block from the beach and places to eat and perfect for what we were needing. We had a day layover on a trip out of the country and had about 30 hours to kill. It's a very quick Uber ride from the airport and we were able to walk around, enjoy the weather and eat some good food at some fun little places. The property itself is fine but nothing fancy at all. It's the location that's amazing! The place is somewhat dated but very clean and had everything we needed. The onsite property manager, Tequila, was the star of the show. Friendly, helpful, and when we had an issue with our shower head, she was over in 5 minutes and had it fixed in another 5! Give this girl a raise!

We loved staying in this area of Manhattan Beach, and Sea View Inn is a hidden gem. Since it is tucked away in Bruce’s Beach, it is quiet but a wonderful walk to downtown Manhattan Beach.

The location was the best part of this stay. Easy beach access and convenient parking made getting around Manhattan Beach simple and stress-free. Staff was friendly during check-in as well. CONS Unfortunately, the condition of the room completely overshadowed the good location. The property felt extremely dated and poorly maintained. The room appeared barely cleaned upon arrival. There were stains on the bedding and carpet, marks all over the walls and baseboards, and the blinds were broken and unusable. The shower had visible staining and what appeared to be mildew buildup. The towels were thin, worn out, and felt overdue for replacement years ago. The carpet was covered in stains to the point where it was impossible not to notice them constantly, and the tile floors felt grimy and dirty underfoot. The pillows were especially concerning. They looked old, discolored, and unclean enough that I genuinely could not bring myself to sleep comfortably. I ended up using a towel from my car just to avoid direct contact with the bedding. I stayed for two nights and honestly could not relax or feel comfortable during the stay because the cleanliness issues were so noticeable. I would not stay here again, which is unfortunate because the location itself is great.

Beautiful spot right across the street from the beach! We used the beach towels, umbrella, and chairs that were provided at reception. Only issue is the property is old so there are a few things that didn’t work. The shower had very little pressure, and the bathtub jacuzzi ran out of hot water after only a few inches of water. So we couldn’t use it. Makes sense because it’s an older property but might be helpful to know in case that matters to you. Overall it was great though. It was my second time staying there. Would recommend if you’re trying to stay close to the beach, restaurants, shops. Overall I give it 4 stars knocking one off because of the water issues.

This is a well-maintained and clean, adorable motel environment. With real keys! But, if you can’t take a few minor unpolished finishes, or soft water pressure, this isn’t the place for you. Also, be prepared for stairs!

Apartment Deluxe is the largest unit with one bath room that can room 6 people. Bathroom is somewhat updated bath not the shower head. Entry door outdated.

Parking was fine. This property is way more dated than the pictures showed- feels like an old motel. The location is solid, but I'm not sure I'd stay at this spot again. The photos on expedia vs the actual room felt like a real bait and switch.

We opted for a private patio. Our place is not the usual building where the apartments are. We are cool with that. Ours was great because it felt like AirBnB so we bought our own ingredients from Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s the four days we stayed in, and had homemade to cut salt and used our preferred avocado oil on everything. The Inn has free use of bikes and boogie boards which we appreciated. It’s so nice and safe around the area. We are from NYC so we are used to coastal feel and took the bus everywhere. Overall, it was a positive experience. Manhattan Beach felt safe and had a Martha’s Vineyard feel to it. I let the kid roam on their own and seem safer than our nyc boroughs. My only peeve is I hope they’ll have more pans and utensils to use.

So the room was amazing and comfortable and the location was great. Was our first time in California from PNW and will be back next time we go to LA.

We did not have a car so parking wasn’t an issue but it seemed there was a parking lot available. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed. It was clean and was happy to see it had a dishwasher to make clean up easy. We booked the Suite because we are a family of 5. The space was adequate, but could have used better linens for the pull out couch / bed. The floor was a little dirty but other than that the room was clean and so was the bathroom. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Overall a great stay. Location was the main reason I chose this place and it did not disappoint.

One thing to note is that if you’re staying in a ground-floor room, you may hear some noise from the rooms above. Overall, though, it was a nice stay and a great spot for easy access to everything nearby.

The room was fairly clean and very shabby. The pro was fairly dilapidated. Hard bed and lumpy pillows. About the only thing going for it is a good location. Definitely not a good value for the price.

Room was clean enough. Staff was unfriendly and the pool heater was “broken” which we weren’t told about until we asked despite me asking about the pool upon check in. We also weren’t told that housekeeping only comes once every 3 days and we would need to be taking our own trash out. When we called for pillows for the pullout bed they argued and said there were some in closet. There was only 1.

location was great- at 34th street can walk straight down to the beach. Hotel had chairs, umbrella and towels. The rooms are clean, staff nice and helpful, liked sitting on the balcony with a partial view of the ocean from room 108. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t go in the pool too cold in March, not heated. A couple of restaurants nearby. Great market in the next block to the left that makes sandwiches and salads, has ice cream, beer etc. It is about 25 minute walk to the pier and restaurants and shops. Can’t beat the closeness to the airport. The rooms are dated, replacing the carpet with vinyl flooring would help.

Absolutely horrible. No indication where to find the office and when I finally found it they were literally running it out oh one of their guest rooms which was a pigsty. Once we got to our room we found it to look nothing like the photos and no instructions on how and where to access any of the amenities that were listed like the pool, beach chairs or towels. It also was listed as ocean view but there was none. When it came time to check out, no one was in the makeshift office so I just left the key in the room. I will NEVER return

Amazing the pricing for this place - you’re solely paying for location, otherwise it’s a notch above a hostel.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue during my stay was a plumbing problem that left the toilet in my room out of order for about half of my stay. On top of that, the phones at the front desk were not working, so I wasn’t able to call for assistance or ask questions and had to walk there instead. The front desk also operates with limited hours, so if you need anything you have to plan ahead. For example, the hotel has a very old-school setup, and the rooms still use physical keys. When I checked out, the front desk was closed, so there was nowhere obvious to leave the key or anyone available to answer checkout questions. Overall, the location is the main highlight, but the maintenance issues and limited front desk availability made the stay less convenient than expected.

It was 10/10 for us, we flew in from Texas and it was our first time in Cali and it was the best. We will most definitely be back! And will stay at the same place , hopefully get the same room again 😭 made a lot of memories

Location is great with restaurants and other vendors all in very short walking distance, close to beach, relatively close to downtown manhattan beach. Very minimal amenities within the room.

The room was spacious and very clean. I had an injury and Noe helped me get my bag to my room. I didn't realize I had a two-room suite with a full kitchen! Yowza. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a 4 or 5-star experience, but the rooms are very clean, in a great location, and Barbara and Noe were super helpful.

We usually stay here for proximity to our daughters home snd walk ability to the strand. However, for the same price we can stay at the Marriott and have first world amenities. The Sea View is “ tired” and sorely aging. The rooms are becoming increasingly delapidated. Carpeting is grossly stained, paint peeling off the walls, cheap clogged shower heads and a pool that is NEVER heated. This will be our last stay here.

Was clean, minimal amenities. Bed was comfy, but pillows were hard and flat. Definitely upgrade room if possible. Regular room is very small, has small fridge and microwave but no counter in bathroom, so have to sit curling irons blow dryer etc in sink to get ready. Also may be weird if not wtaying as a couple that the wall between the shower and bed is glass (frosted from neck down) but still weird. Heated pool no hot tub. Appreciated use of bikes. Many nearby restaurants but a mile from main Manhattan blvd area. Not right off the beach its a steep 4 lil blocks, so if wish to stay on the beach there are better options, especially near Hermosa pier. The area seems clean and safe with a warm town vibe. But rooms are right off the road so you hear cars all night and lack of soundproofing you can hear neighbors tv and people clobbering their luggage up the stairs all hours of night. We did not sleep well here.

The suite felt more like an apartment than a standard issue hotel room, with separate bedrooms and spaces, a kitchenette, a spacious living room area, and a full size fridge. And with beautiful ocean views. The price was right and the roominess worked for the four of us sharing the space.

I booked this hotel thinking that it was right on the beach, per posted description, but when checking in, it was located a long block away from the beach. The hotel is old and has no elevators, so carrying our suitcases over three narrow and awkward stairs cases was quite difficult. The beds were comfortable, but the sheets were cheap and made of some synthetic material that did not look fresh. the parking on a lot across the hotel costed $25 a night. Overall, I would call Sea View Inn a motel rather than a hotel.

A decent location just a couple blocks from the beach but not a fan of the hotel itself. Very old, no elevator or help with bags so I had to carry my 50lb suitcase up 2 flights of stairs myself, amenities were so-so, shower head was absolutely disgusting, carpets were stained, blinds were broken. This hotel could just use a little upgrade and TLC.

We absolutely loved staying at the Sea View Inn. It was minutes from the beach and had many restaurants within walking distance. It was such a nice touch being able to rent out chairs and towels for the beach as well. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Manhattan Beach!

The staff here are amazing. Friendly and helpful. The access to the beach is a short walk downhill and breakfast, lunch, and dinner options are walking distance. My only complaint (and I mentioned this during checkout) was foot traffic noise from the unit above us. Definitely could benefit from some soundproofing. Otherwise, we had a fantastic experience.

This is such a great quaint little Inn right across from the sea. The property is split between 3 buildings but there is ample parking, and many restaurants and cafes are walking distance as well as a market, liquor store, and a few yoga studios. Highly recommend if you want a non run-of-the-mill stay that’s unique with a great ocean view and accommodating rooms!

Amazing, quiet location. I wish the hotel was maintained better. It definitely needs a renovation. Let me explain it this way; you take a roadside $60 old motel and put it in Manhattan beach! Thats how the hotel is! Location is amazing but I won’t stay in that hotel again.

Overall we were not impressed with this property. We only stayed one night. When we arrived & walked into the office to check in (4 pm on 10/5) the woman at the front desk was not very friendly. She seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. The hotel itself is very old & has multiple buildings with units located on all 4 corners of the intersection. The updates to the property are like putting lipstick on a pig. It needs more of a renovation instead of just slapping on new tile & flooring. The floors were uneven & they weren't clean. We could feel the fine sand left behind when walking barefoot. We had a room for 5. The place was definitely not worth the price & we won't be coming back.

the inn is made up of several unattached buildings; we were placed at the very back end of a building where we (two 70yo women) had to walk up a flight of stairs, cross the pool area and up another long flight of stairs. the room was very small and had no dresser. it smelled of mildew and everything was just old. there was no view other than another building or home. I guess they can charge $250/night plus $25/day parking because of being walkable to the beach and cafes. would not stay again at the "No" Sea View Inn

This is probably my 10th stay at SeaView Inn and it never disappoints. Perfect location and it's my happy place.

Wonderful location, fantastic, friendly staff. Coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Room is motel-style and made for a beach town, not fancy but cute and comfortable, made for relaxing after washing off the sand and salt. Comfortable beds. Neighborhood is blessedly quiet and there’s a lovely breeze off the ocean. Cruiser bikes available to guests, old and rusty but get the job done. Paid parking. Great place to stay and live that beach life.

Rough, aged bed linens. It felt a lot like a Motel 6 or a college dorm room at best. The unit I was given for over $200 for the night (when the hotel was 60% occupied) was a prior garage storage unit converted into a room. It was the only unit in one of the parking areas. The TV didn't work and the wifi was super weak. The shower was decent enough. I've stayed here before in two other units, but I'll never stay here again.

The location of this property is perfect. You can walk to the beach and great restaurants. Staff was incredibly friendly. Our carpet in the room was soaking wet and the bed was not comfortable, but the stay was nice overall.

The room did not have usb outlets, and the hotel loaned me a small charger. So I suggest bringing your own wall charger. The bikes are beach cruisers w/ pedal breaks - be careful riding them, I recommend walking the bike down the hill to the beach instead of riding.

Dirty room. Terrible bedding. Shower dripped. Walls are paper thin and can hear other guests in their room. Broken window latch on a first floor room. I was told that it was my fault for not notifying the staff when the office closes at 11PM. After informing front desk staff they still had another guest check in to the room. If they can find a way to be cheap.

Stayed for 2 nights, great location walkable to restaurants, market, and beach. We booked an ocean view room with a balcony. Use of the free bikes was great to explore the strand. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Some noise from surroundings but easily addressed with some white noise. Would stay here again.

My room 306 was less than desirable. Bathroom floor was always very wet; it looked like water was coming from the ceiling. Stairs and alleyways to reach the room which is basically located in the back alley.

We had a great time on our stay. Different dining options available and all walking distance. Utilities are dated but all in working condition. Beach is very close , also walking distance, but a steep climb heading back that can be a chore if you’re lugging a bunch of beach gear.

We loved the proximity to the beach and bike trail, and the price in June was amazing.

It was a nice visit for one evening. The penthouse room with two bedrooms and a sofa bed worked for the thee of us. The mattress on the sofa bed pretty think and it was very squeaky. Only other issue we had was that remote controls were difficult to use and we couldn't figure out how to turn off the fan in the bedrooms. The front desk employee was very helpful when we called for help--he was great. Maybe a short document in the rooms explaining how to use the remotes and turn on/off the fans.

Smell from the Aircon was bad. Room is crying for refurbishment. Bath tap didn't work at all so couldn't have a bath. Location is convenient for the beach, other than that needs a improvements.

The room was dirty and the faucet in the bathroom fell off the wall. The glass shower doors were not able to slide along their track. Stained lamp shades. The bed though was comfortable.

Staff is not present that often

The location is excellent. It is very close to the beach with great views of the ocean. The pool is nice and plenty of dining options. The bike and walking paths along the beach are beautiful.

Best deal in Manhattan Beach. Also stay when my boys and I come to town. Parking on site - Beach chairs and bikes available to use. Rooms a big (we always get the two bedroom). Older building - but everything works and it is clean and comfortable!

Gosh, not sure about this place anymore. There were cockroaches in the bathroom at night. A bleach smell around the grounds. Just a general unkept appearance throughout the room decor. Even for the low price, it was just ok. I also had to call twice to get a coffee maker and they really seemed to not care so much. Friendly front desk upon arrival, but very inattentive. Good for one night, then jet out of there!

Location is superb. Just off the beach in a quiet setting. It’s simple accommodation with friendly staff and free bikes, beach towels and new beach chairs. Close to the pier where most cafes, restaurants and bars are to be found.

When you are in a place and you feel at home - for me - that was this place. I enjoyed my stay very much, I called it "my apartment" and it is an apartment! It has a living area, bedroom, bathroom, and balcony that looks more like a patio; with an ocean view!! Their buildings are all four corners of the Highland Avenue and 34th Street, and the accent color is orange; which I love! It's not cramped like a hotel, one room next to another, it's spread out and it feels spacious. The staff was also very attentive and accommodating! I was visiting family and friends, and came "home" at night: Love the Sea View INN.

Greta location, a bit outdated but comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay. Extremely walkable. Close to the beach, restaurants, and an easy commute to areas like Culver City. They have convenient on-site parking. Also, gorgeous ocean views from the balconies. Will re-book.

Parking is a bit difficult, but a parking lot is available for easier parking.

We loved sea view inn and can’t wait to come back. Eddie and Noe especially were incredibly helpful and sweet staff members. The location couldn’t be better right up the way from manhattan beach. It’s a gorgeous area with plenty of good restaurants. Our room didn’t have a view but it looks like the rooms with views would have a great one. Cute, clean pool. We will definitely be back!

Room could use replacement on all the blinds. Old and some were bent or broken

Great staff , great location , 15 minute walk into Manhattan Beach centre, 2 mins to the strand and an amazing ocean front walk .

Hotel is older but clean and overall fine. Sheets and blanket were very thin; ok for summer but too flimsy for winter. Room had fridge, microwave, and hotel had parking. Great location, short walk to beach.

What a wonderful cute spot! Close to the beach and very walkable (yes there are hills in manhattan beach) with restaurants close by (recommend Fishbar). Could have used a chest of drawers in the room and room was very bright (no black out curtains here) but other than that it was perfect!

5 minute walk from the beach was the biggest plus to me. I am fond of its location, everything is within walking distance.

Very together and professional front desk staff. Great neighborhood although the main road is quite busy. Room was well maintained and clean and had everything we needed. Lots of great businesses nearby especially liked Beach Pizza.

Stay away

We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 3 in a luxury suite with ocean view. Location was ideal, close to small supermarket and some excellent cafes and restaurants. View from the balcony was great, but no view from the room. Heating was fantastic, room was a bit tired. Free bike hire and really helpful reception staff were a highlight. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in summer.

There was a $25 charge for parking. The amount of the charge was not explicit in the Inn's website. Television would only last a few minutes before it lost signal and had to be rebooted. Check-in clerk was a tad surly. The Inn has a good location if you want to be in the North End. If not, I would suggest trying elsewhere.

Such a great stay. We loved being so close to the beach. The staff was so friendly. It was great to be able to check out beach items - including bikes! Can't wait to stay again.

Super place

Perfect beach hotel, about a block away from ocean. Great coffee and breakfast on same block also. Plus they offer free beach cruiser bikes to ride!! Great stay

You sit right on Highland Boulevard, which is noisy. No breakfast or other amenities, period. Staff is always super friendly. If you are beaching it all day, this is an ok place.

Convenient location, within walking distance to the beach and downtown Manhattan Beach restaurants. Wonderful coffee shops & restaurants serve breakfast within a block or two away.

False advertising great area terrible facility. The images and building is not where we stayed we stay on other side on road in a old dirty building. Pulled wool over our eyes and that's considered theft. Misrepresenting what they are charging and they are charging a TON for what we ended up getting

We enjoyed our stay the bed smelled clean. The room was clean. The view was beautiful. Customer service was good,parking only across the street. There's also a little market across the street and the pool was very clean, which was a nice change.

Have been staying here for years when we are in town to visit family.

Excellent staff and kind service

Good location. Older property that needs a facelift. Carpet and bedding looked 20 years old. Shower controls positioned where had to get wet to turn shower on. Shampoo and soap in cheapest packages posssible like Taco Bell hot sauce packaging. Shower did have amazing water pressure. No elevator, so if staying on 3rd floor you are tracking bags up the stairs. Still, given location, not a horrible value for the price.

It was a great location in the middle of the downtown of Manhattan Beach close to the beach, had easy access to parking, and the service was great! Cute rooms and had all the amenities that we needed for the night we were there!

Areas for improvement: There were LOUD, squeaky, plumbing pipes anytime our room or one of the rooms next to us used the water. It created a high pitched squealing sound that would last sometimes for 10 seconds and other times for 20 minutes. This would happen at night or during the day. I recognize that updating pipes is not an easy or cheap fix, but absolutely needs to be addressed, even if it is just sound-proofing the walls. I am not overly sensitive about cleaning, but I do draw the line at hair being in more than one place that is extremely sensitive to guests. I found several long, black hair (I have blonde hair) in the bed, on the pillow case and on the sheets. There was another long, black hair on the toilet seat. I set the toilet seat down (it was up to indicate that it had been cleaned) and the hair was on the top of the toilet seat after letting it down. I noticed that me and my daughter's feet were often black and dirty after walking around barefoot on the floor even after showering. I do not think the floor tile has been properly cleaned in a long time. The living room TV did not work except for the Roku.

We love staying here. My son had a single room for a day or so - it was right up against Highland and too loud to open his windows at night. I have always stayed in the penthouses and they are nice and bit and have a great view. Property is clean and the ability to grab bikes and beach stuff is one main reason we stay here.

The Cottage is part of the hotel, with access to its facilities such as the swimming pool and free use of bicycles and beach equipment. Its location is excellent for restaurants and for the beach.
