La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Macon

Carpet in the hall smelled, waffle maker was broken, exercise room was out of order. Aside from the stained bathtub the rooms clean. Staff was very friendly.

Not much of a breakfast either. Cereal or muffins. We didn’t bother trying the coffee.

Hotel was under renovation and that was not advertised. We got in late and had to wait more than 20 min for someone to check us in. Then there were bugs in room. Overall it was quiet but we wouldn’t have stayed if we’d known it was under renovation. Good location for our travel. Probably great after it’s finished with updates.

Beds are clean, no weird smells, no bugs $100 security deposit required and not made aware of until you check in.. especially the fact you don't know when you're getting it back could be 3 days, Could be 30. This detail greatly affected my traveling experience.. and not for the better.

I stayed at this facility on my way up north and liked it very much. I was traveling with my pet and we had a room on the first floor with access to the pool. I was very impressed so I made a reservation for my trip back down from Illinois to Florida. I did not get a confirmation so I called and was told they did not have my reservation and we need to put me on hold for about five minutes. I told him I didn’t have that time. I was out of town. I told him I would call Expedia. When I arrived yesterday, he had two reservations for me. Though I asked for the same room last time and I understand they are not always available, but I had a room facing the parking lot where semi truck was parked well into the early morning hours running its engine, the room had a very bad odor to it, it appeared that the role of toilet tissue had been wet and dried at one time and each door with the exception in the front door and the door by the pool had signs emergency exit only an alarm would sound. But I use my card coming in and out and was fine.

Room was ok. Sheet had a weird stain on it. Bathroom was clean. Parking was great. I don't like staying at pet friendly hotels. They never clean up the dog hair. The hallway seemed to have several bleach like stairs in the carpet. Renovations are needed. The service desk could use a customer service class. The breakfast was horrible. Just go to the Waffle house. It was decent I guess since we were not in the room much. They really could do better with the upkeep. This is the 2nd time for La Quinta. Last time in Savanna we left,sent us to an uncleaned room. I may have to pass on this franchise period. This is not as described.

The property is under construction and repair but not listed on the website. It was dirty and smelly. The breakfast was mid, only one waffle maker and some toast. Would not recommend. The rooms were dirty, beds were lumpy and the TV didn't work.

The staff members did help us out but the pictures of the hotel were definitely different than in person. The hotel needs ALOT of work done to it, when I first got there I was told that the crib rental was $25 that is non refundable (even through the page said free and my son didnt use because it looked dirty). I was so unhappy with the place that I didn’t even eat there breakfast.

I extended my check out till 12 for 30 and was asked to leave at 10:45 said they didn’t get the extension….. sure hope they don’t charge me the hotel smelled like bad plumbing and there was construction materials everywhere

The room was filthy but we were so tired that we slept and left as early as we could. There were 2 roaches in our bathtub. The food options were poor. And the staff when we checked in was very rude and the security deposit/ hold was more than the room itself!!! This was one of the worst La Quinta’s we have ever stayed at the carpeting is in poor shape and has stains all over!!! The mattresses were so uncomfortable and our ac barely worked!!!

THE LOBBY AREA AND PARKING WERE CLEAN, THE STAFF NOT TOO FRIENDLY, ONLY 3 TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM THE WERE STAINED AND THEN THE NEXT DAY THEY TOOK THE TOWELS BUT DIDNT CLEAN THE ROOM WHICH WAS KIND OF CONFUSING AND WHEN MY DAUGHTER WENT TO ASK FOR MORE TOWELS FIRST WAS TOLD NO THEN SHE WALKED TO THE LAUNDRY AREA AND ASK SOMEONE FOR TOWELS AND THE PERSON TOLD HER WE HAVE TO WAIT 10-15 AND SOMEONE WILL TAKE IT TO THE ROOM. NOT SURE IF ITS ALWAYS LIKE THAT BUT THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE AT NIGHT IN THE PARKING LOT, A LOT OF NOISE AND TALKING AND DOG BARKING LATE AT NIGHT IN THE HALLWAY. THE WINDOW COUTAINS HAVE SOME STAINS CLOSE TO THE CEALING THAT LOOKS LIKE WATER DAMAGE OR EVEN MOLD. I WANTED THIS STAY TO BE A GOOD ONE SINCE THE PICTURES LOOK LIKE A NICE PLACE AND THEY WERE PET FRIENDLY WHICH WE TRAVEL WITH OUR DOG BUT WAS NOT AS I EXPECTED. I HATE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS BUT I DONT LIKE TO LIE EITHER. HOPEFULLY THEY DO SOME IMPROVEMENTS AND DEEP CLEANING IN THE ROOMS.

The room was clean and for the price and pretty good and staff was nice. My only complaints is staff does not speak much English so very hard to communicate needs or ask questions, tvs do not have access to internet, and there was no mention the facilty is currently doing construction. Luckily there was no drilling when we were there and it looked like bottom floor only but i wish i had known before booking. Also, thank goodness my boyfriend brought his laptop otherwise we would have been in for a rough one

The room is very outdated, bathroom door knob missing & no lock. Drad bolt on entry door to room would not engagr. One of the back door entries door did not completely close & latch so anyone could come & ho without using a room key for saftey reasons. Halls smelled of weed & the place was supposed to be non smoking.

Old, run down hotel. Front desk guy was nice. No wifi at check in, elevator was out of order, pool is closed and has no water in it, halls and carpets need to be updated, the place smells of weed and orange air freshner. Sink in room had slow drain. Not a nice hotel at all. Exterior of building needs a major upgrade, no landscaping at all. Just rocks. Holiday Inn across the street would have been a better option. Very nice and newer. Will not return to this LaQuinta location.

Everything was great, everything was clean so I gave a great review. About 20 min ster the great review, my friend felt something bite her; after searching she discovered it was a bed bug. It was reported to front desk and I was told to call customer care & let them know. I said well you should not have anyone else stay in that room until it’s been fumigated! Not sure if they will!!!!

Terrible! The people running/own it have their whole family, maybe other family members too, living on premises, kids running around everywhere. This is a commercial property, not B&B!?? It’s distasteful. It’s in bad shape not clean and the fire alarm went off at 6:50 am … I believe some families(owners/manager) are cooking in their rooms. Looks like they are getting renovated but it has a sign stop work permits. Expedia didn’t post that it was under renovations, or I would’ve never booked. Tried calling Expedia and got the run around..Very disappointed and felt disgusted. Won’t use this chain ever again.

We notified the hotel in advance of a late arrival after a 12-he drive. When we arrived in the early morning, the front desk was unattended. There was a note saying “10–15 minutes,” but after waiting over 20 minutes & calling the hotel twice with no answer, 2 men finally came out from a back room. One immediately left the building, & the other, who appeared disheveled, assisted us. He told us our reservation had been canceled due to our late arrival, despite our prior notice & the hotel clearly not being sold out. After some discussion, he reinstated the reservation but refused to add our second night, instructing us to return in the morning. Finding our room was also frustrating, we were pointed in the wrong direction twice after moving our car. The door showed signs of a prior break-in repair. The next morning, checking out & back in for the second night was another issue. Because the room was in my name but paid for with my fiancé’s card, he refused to proceed, citing a policy he could not produce. We had to cancel & rebook under my fiancé’s name & pay an additional $100 security deposit. The hallway carpets were heavily stained with bleach spots on every floor, & the overall hotel smell was pot & ethnic. The room itself was clean, & the pillows were soft. However, the bed was broke, room smelled musty, & the AC would not stay on high fan. There were urinal air fresheners in the elevator ceiling tiles, & it appeared employees live on-site. Oh & the fire alarm off at 7am 🙄

The check in went well, staff were ask very nice, my room was fine. My only complaint is that it is a no smoking place and on the bottom floor at the elevator there was a strong smell of cigarette or something else. Even on our floor it was noticed one time.

I didn’t like the first impression, but I was so tired of 9 hours driving that I stayed to wake up with 2 cockroaches one in the bed and one in the tv table. So Im done. Property appeared to have water damage in several areas. General state of rooms with paint and trim work was in poor shape heating unit fan bearings were squealing and needed service. Card System appears to be old as staff had to keep reprogramming several rooms cards as guests kept getting locked out.

Thos is particularly worrying with the homeless and wanderers around the area. The cleaning staff did an good job considering the overall condition of the hotel. Ground in dirt in the old dinged tub was evident. The halls smelled terrible, and the plastic sheet covering the exposed pipes explained the stink of mold! I definitely need to find another place to stay when visiting. This used to be my go to since pets stayed free. That policy changes, now $25 a night on top of a ridiculous $100 + dollar deposit. This location has definitely gone down over the last few years, and I noticed the transition with the new management. Never again!!

Front desk was friendly but hard to understand. The general condition was run down and not as clean as hoped for. The phone in the room did not work. There were stains on the bedspread. It felt like like there were crumbs in the sheets. The tv was too small. The breakfast attendant blew crumbs off the waffle iron, the part where your waffles are. It’s pretty with nice big windows. Staff was pleasant.

Place was clean and comfortable. The tv kept cutting out so we finally gave up trying to watch it. The place allowed pets which is nice, unless your room is next to one with a yapping dog. Bed was very comfortable.

The place was quiet, but one of the exit was blocked with material that the front desk person sent us to the wrong in of the building to park, and all the doors told you not to out because there would be an alarm that would go off in the exercise room. One of the bikes only had half the set left the breakfast was not the best. People had to keep asking for more food to be bought out

The towels and washcloths were NOT as clean looking as they should be. They also were hard to get for my family of 5 (my 4 small kids and me). I asked for more than the 3 that were in our room and was met with resistance. I ended up going to a nearby store and buying some.

It’s late, we were tired, we just wanted to check in and get to sleep. He checked us in, I asked if there was a restroom in the lobby. Clerk replied yes, and pointed. I go in and do my business, and there is no toilet paper in either side of the dispenser. ok, drip dry it is 🤮🙄 We pull to the door closest to our room. Another hotel worker and a truck driver smoking weed about 40’ from the door and the smell was AWFUL. Go inside the hotel and the same smell from outside is everywhere. Get to our room to finally crash and I said “does it look like the foot of the bed is several inches higher than the head of the bed?” He agreed. So not only was the foot higher but the entire bed tilted towards the left side so it was like sleeping on the side of a mountain all night and hoping not to slide off. So I said “well at least I was able to find you a hotel with a breakfast buffet and not just a continental or grab and go breakfast, even if I did have to pay a little more for it”. Pack up and head down just to find a continental breakfast. Nothing was sanitary, Single pieces of white bread wrapped in unsealed sandwich bags, cereal, undercooked sausage, and what he thought might be egg whites. Looked like chunky white vomit swimming in water to me. Check out, complain about bed, get told “oh I told them to change that”, and about breakfast, points and says “right there is the breakfast buffet” I explained the difference in continental and buffet. She rolled her eyes and shrugged. 1⭐️

Terrible breakfast bar. Only had white bread, egg whites, and few other items! In lobby they had scaffolding in breakfast area. Lobby smelled of mildew and incense. Our room had mildew and found live German roaches (2) which were too many. Vanity in bathroom was leaning because plastic grouting was cracked. There were many more problems. Unhappy customer!

Sheets, blankets and towels were all stained and nasty. The lobby area smelled of smoke and cannabis. Ice machine on second floor was broken. Staff was okay. Room ac was loud and way to cold since we could is blankets due to them being stained and dirty.

Big modern rooms, very clean and quiet, some well kept grass for walking dogs, pleasant staff. Only suggestion is a better breakfast.

Handicap accessible room was on the second floor, and far away from the elevator. Not good if there was an emergency where the elevator could not be used. Using the toilet was difficult. There was mold on the ceiling in the room. Otherwise, the location was very clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Convenient location off the interstate, but the room (carpeted) smelled like urine. I informed the front desk so I wouldn't get charged for it. Each exit door has a security "siren" that goes off every time the door is accessed. My room was close to an exit door, so i heard this all evening. There was no coffee available in the morning (in lobby breakfast).

Staff was amazing. Check in was easy. We were here for a ball tournament, so was nice that they got us all close together. Pool was broken but that was out of their control. Breakfast was hot meal. Would stay again if in the area.

Needs updating. Not that clean. Bathroom needs work

Mold on caulking in shower Peculiar odor everywhere Zero vending machines/ice machines despite signs posted everywhere for them. The areas where the machines once were are now filled with stacks upon stacks of old hotel room furniture. Guests have zero control of AC or heating. Buttons on unit are dummy buttons. Front desk unattended, waited 15 minutes for someone to appear when trying to check in. Elevator sketchy at best, makes scary noises & takes forever. Pool area unkept & in disarray. Hotel employee using a vacuum cleaner in the hall just outside my door VERY loudly at 7 AM. Water pressure terrible. In-room coffee pot filthy & disgusting. I'm flabbergasted that La Quinta or Wyndham associate their name with this location. The entire appearance & condition is below even the lowest standards.

There was a roach in my bath tub, a party going on in the next room till 2am with loud music, and the staff was not friendly at breakfast. I requested more plates as they were out and the staff said “they are in the cabinet, you can get some there and set them out…” I guess they didn’t realize I wasn’t wearing a LaQuinta shirt and didn’t work there. As a former GM of a LaQuinta for 11 years, I was incredibly disappointed in this stay.

The hotel was dirty. Blood stains on our pillows and towels. Poop stain on our sheets and pee stains on our mattress. The ac unit never been clean and it was blowing dust into our room causing our allergies to act up n in the end we got sick. Could’ve def been a lot more cleaner.

Staff made everything easy

The walls in the bathroom were very dirty. The toilet did not want to flush properly. The walls were paper thin. The couple with a child next door were very noisy and loud late after 10:00 pm and into the early morning hours. My room was adjoined to theirs, however, the door frame didn't fit correctly... it was wider than the actual door and left large gaps. Definately won't stop there again!

The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable but the bathrooms need to be updated and needs more and better toiletries. The lighting could be better in the room. The breakfast was minimal

The room I stayed in was kind of filthy. There was rust and all kinds of dust in the restroom. Carpet was very dirty, just not up to cleanliness standard. This place needs to be remodeled.

Horrible stay bugs everywhere

$150 room deposit, not mentioned on website. Sprung on you by a note on the counter at 1am along with unmentioned dog deposit also.

The room had roaches, and my rental car was damaged in the parking lot making me responsible for over 200 in fees

They had roach on the floor, dried up blood on the sheets and also stains on the sheets as well. The employe doesn’t understand American language at all at 3944 River Place Drive in Macon GA

Would not recommend this location. Have stayed at other LaQuinta hotels but this one was way worse!!

Check in took over 20 min, for one guest who had already started when I arrived in line. The room had an old stale smell. The property overall was not clean and had areas that looked like a place to collect junk and old furniture. Price was cheap enough which offset the check inn issues but cleanliness definitely needs some improvements.

Went on-line to schedule one night stay in Macon, Ga. Having stayed at LaQuinta in Macon prior off of I-475. Very surprised that reservation was at another LaQuinta on I-75 way across Macon, frustrated after having driven for 10 hrs

Bed was uncomfortable. Found cockroach walking across the bed and had to kill it. Evidently the room previously had water damage to walls in room and bathroom. Fire alarm kept going off for a few seconds every 5 minutes all night.

Very unclean. Sheets not clean, floors dirty, Room smelt like smoke. We had to leave to go to a different hotel. We didn’t feel comfortable staying there.
