It was a good stay

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk staff is extremely rude. Check-in time was 3pm. We arrived for check in at 6 pm and my room wasn't ready. My travel companions were charged a $50.00 deposit for their rooms and it was not stated on the site for reservations when the reservatios were made. I, too, was about to be charged a deposit, but made issue about the room not being cleaned and ready for check-in at the appointed time. There were security concerns with disturbances of argumentative people all night long with someone crashing into a car in the parking lot and banging on doors. My travel companions did not get the amount of rest they should have. My room had an insect problem. I had to exterminate two roaches in the bathroom and bedroom area. My key to my room didn't work. I went to the front desk to get it re-keyed. The man at the front desk loudly and rudely let me know check out was at 11am before begrudgingly re-keying my card. It was 10:30. I let him know I was aware and wanted to retrieve my belongings. I did not want to stay there another minute. When I returned to complete check out, I let the front desk staff know about the bug problem, and the same rude man pointed for me to place my key in the check-out bin. The front desk doesn't care and did nothing to address the concerns of guests. This was my first and last stay at the Red Roof Inn. My recommendation: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
- 0.5/5
Nothing. A surprise security deposit which is as not mentioned in the booking. Dead bugs on floor, gunshots woke me up out of my sleep. And last but not least, the staff was very rude to my travel companions and myself when we checked in.
- 2/5
The lobby smelled like cigarettes. Our room didn’t have hand soap or body wash. There was a long dark hair on one of the hand towels that did not belong to us.
- 0.5/5
Nothing. Dirty.
- 1/5
Our room toilet was sluggish, then was completely clogged. I talked to Noah, the front-office staff, asking for it to be unclogged while we are out. When we returned 4 or 5 hours later, no work had been done. When I talked again with Noah, he said there was "no mechanic" working today (a Sunday). I asked for a different room. It took 3 hours for him to get us another room. Also, the motel was basically for transients and drug addicts.

Weed smell permeates through the walls. People hanging over balcony all night. Toilet very slow to flush. Stains in bathroom wall. TV very dark. HDMI feature don’t work because they are old. AC unit smells and very loud. Hard to sleep at night. Shower head leaks profusely all over bathroom floor.

there were bugs

Missing base molding strips. White unpainted patches on the walls. Rusty (!) desk lamp. Slooow flushing toilet. No soap (nor was there any available at the front desk). And the inevitable insect crawling across the carpet. Almost comically dumpy. On the plus side, shower tub was clean, beds were okay enough to sleep on, and the AC worked properly.
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, quiet even though room faced the interstate, good water pressure and plenty of hot water in shower, grab bar in shower Lotion cannister was empty, towels were small and thin, no iron and ironing boards, one nightstand's drawer was missing
- 1/5
If you want to go to a property that’s ran down, rooms not clean and comfortable with roaches then by all means book a room, I left as soon as I saw the tub not clean and bugs.
- 5/5
No bells or whistles but good lodge helpful staff great for cheap dog show stays
- 1/5
Mold and mildew on the ceiling and bottom of door cobwebs in the corners of ceiling door was bent in at the bottom hard to open from outside

I’ve had good stays and bad stays

Room was fine. Only real complaint was no hot water at 10:30 on a Saturday.
- 4/5
Very nice. Customer service was great. Room was very clean. Great location
- 5/5
Everything was very clean and I didn't have to use the laundry services. I didn't need shops around either.
- 2/5
The toilet had pee in it when i arrived, one of the towels had black mold on it. When cleaning staff finally came by on Saturday, they took only some garbage, didnt provide another garbage bag, and left the door cracked open so someone could have taken my stuff. Not a good experience.

We had three prepaid rooms through Expedia for my team. Upon arriving at around 11 PM, the lone clerk spent over 30 minutes trying to get us into rooms. The first room took three attempts as the clerk (talking at length with someone on the phone while trying to figure out what to do with us) had sent this person to one room and then another which was occupied. So my guy was walking into a room that had already been rented out. Occupants were not pleased. The third attempt worked. My second guy was sent to one occupied room before successfully getting an open room on the second attempt. I was sent to yet another occupied room and upon returning to the desk was informed the hotel had no more rooms. So in all it took 30 minutes of standing at the desk waiting to be told at 11:30 PM that no room was available for me. I had to go find another hotel and return the next morning to pick up my associates. Very poor service, poorly trained staff, and breach of contract (prepaid room).
- 1/5
This place was a TOTAL & COMPLETE DUMP!!!! Nasty, Smelly, Filthy, Dirty Rooms, Dirty Linen, Broken Plumbing, Terrible Customer Service, NO Amenities In The Rooms, The Whole Place is A Disgusting Property Inside & Out
- 1/5
Check in took 30 minutes as the front desk clerk was arguing back and forth with a prior visitor. My room smelled like smoke there were holes in the bedding however I choose upgraded bedding. At 1 am I discovered roaches in the room. I attempted several times to call the front desk but the line rang constantly. I then went to the front desk to speak with someone to find no one attending the front desk and a sign stating will return in 10 minutes. I waited 20 minutes but no one returned. Due to the roach infestation I was forced to leave the hotel at 2 am and locate a different hotel to stay in for the night.

- 5/5
The staff is very helpful, and the rooms are nice.
- 2/5
No fridge or microwave. outside of rooms there were bags like homeless people lived there
- 2/5
The bathroom sink water pressure was very weak. The shower wand holder was broken. The fan was sticking out of the wall. The light and the fan were on the same switch. It was also very noisy so when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night I did not turn the light on of fear of waking my husband up with the raucous it caused. The bathroom lights had a bunch of dead bugs. The walls were repaired and patched, but not painted. Cracks in the ceiling. The bathroom door was severely damaged at the bottom. The mattress was lumpy and super thin. The pros - the towels and sheets were clean. The room was clean too. The water pressure in the shower was great and plenty of hot water. Definitely not the best place to stay.

check in lady was great, was able to cancel 2 nights because of storm. Room was clean, beds comfortable.

Staff support was terrible, the advertising was wrong it says they have ev chargers but do NOT, elevator was not working and they have roaches
- 2/5
Room was filthy. Had bugs and ceiling was coming down. Also had stains on sheets
- 3/5
The staff was pleasant and courteous. The building needs a serious upgrade. The rug was worn, there were old tv wire just cut off but hung out of the wall, the heating unit made a lot of noise, there was a large opening under the door etc.

It was a place to sleep. And was in our budget for 1 night.
- 1/5
We never got our room cleaned, we never got extra toilet paper, trash bags, towels or refilled shampoo or soap. I had to purchase my own toilet paper, soap, and roach pesticide
- 4/5
Quiet and good food options close.

- 5/5
It was great!
- 2/5
The place is in badly need of upgrading. I had to change rooms because the toilet ran on, you can hear water constantly running in the pipes behind the wall and the internet was non-existent. Housekeeping never made the bed or changed the sheets in three days. The towels were changed once and the floor swept once. The only thing thed did was empty the trash can everyday.

The room spelt bad. Two doors down from us was a man yelling starting around 3:30am and didn’t stop till 7:30. Screaming and drunk
- 2/5
Clean rooms always yet hit or miss of the smells at times and I have stayed her many times
- 5/5
The room smelled like cigarettes but for one night it was ok. There was a lot of noise at night by people in the facility.
- 3/5
Overall I had a good night sleep, but the facility/hotel, showed signs of aging. My request for clean towels was not granted (2nd day).. There are no microwaves nor small refrigerators in the rooms.. the hotel is pet friendly and has good parking. There was a staff member (older male) behind the desk, in the afternoon, he was not friendly, I went to reactivate my room cards, he asked if I needed the two cards given at check in and i replied yes, he gave me the most evil look in the world.. spooked me a little... customer service is not everyone's strong point.

- 2/5
The rooms on ground floor had mold and damp smell. The entire property had smell.
- 3/5
Roof Inns (we had a dog), and they were all nicer than this "Plus" version. The 3 receptionists we met were friendly and helpful, but the room was very worn and dated. It was clean, but there was a hole in the bedspread, baseboards were coming loose in the bathroom, and the shower head came through a hole in the sheetrock--no metal flange. There were no amenities, not even a hairdryer. One of the receptionists tried to get one for me, but had no luck. My husband went to the lobby at about 8:45 in the morning to get coffee. There were no cups, but the receptionist got some. Unfortunately, the coffee was at best lukewarm, and there was no way for the receptionist to make more. It apparently gets delivered, sometime. I would rate this hotel minus, not plus.
- 4/5
The noise was disturbing .
- 2/5
The room was smelly and A/C not adequate to cool the room. I would not stay here again.
- 4/5
The staff was very nice and helpful.
- 3/5
Rooms are very small. Mattress in poor condition (very thin, hard, uncomfortable). Cover missing from AC unit.
- 2/5
Rough condition. Lamp shades with holes. Bed spreads don't match. No coat hangers to hang clothes. Electric plug on bath vanity didn't work. Housekeeper rude to another guest. Observed her being surley when asked for a roll of bath tissue. No plug on bathtub. Rough area with individuals hanging around outside on hotel property. Desk employees were courteous.
- 3/5
Way to many pets with no where to walk in grass and water pressure was weak. Staff was very friendly and helpful
- 1/5
Bed bugs … standard room … dirty sheets
- 1/5
Pulled into a motel that clearly serves as welfare housing or a homeless shelter. Lots of shady people standing outside of “their” rooms. One room had two live cats living in it, making it evident that this was a long term housing situation for some. Had some great Mexican food near by and came back to find a rather large BED BUG crawling on the comforter. There’s never just *one* bed bug so I managed to get it into a plastic cup and brought it to the front desk demanding a refund. The man at the desk was completely unfazed, clearly this was not his first rodeo with this situation. Unacceptable! Pictures and clearly AI generated positive reviews did NOT match the condition of this dump. Do yourself a favor, stay anywhere else!
- 1/5
Disgusting— bugs in the bathroom- noisy A/C that barely cooled the room- people hanging around al night
- 2/5
I did not appreciate the surprise $50 deposit needed to check in, as I had booked through a 3rd party site and there was no mention of this policy beforehand. The room was fine for what I needed, a place to sleep and shower. Aside from that, I was extremely underwhelmed. It was a handicapped accessible room; however there were numerous issues, starting with the bathroom door that didn't latch due to broken hardware, the bathroom door was also broken from being shoved against the floor mounted door stopper, the hand held shower attachment bar was pulled out at the bottom which revealed a rusted screw sticking through the shower wall and the room was arranged as to make it difficult to maneuver a wheelchair from the entrance to the bathroom. Other issues I would note are more inconveniences, such as no instruction to access wifi, no "do not disturb" sign, no TV guide or instructions and no directory for local restaurants/delivery options. The room was suitably clean, so that was a small positive to my stay. Overall not a great experience and I will find another option next time I'm in the area.
- 1/5
BAD
- 3/5
It was a cheap hotel for quick sleep and leave on roadtrip. Condotion was worn out. Hotels.com said ev charging available, but nowhere at place was there a charging unit.
- 4/5
I didn’t like the microwave & fridge cost additional.
- 4/5
We just want a place to stay for night and we find this place reasonable as to price and clean.
- 1/5
Dirty and ambient not comfortable.
- 2/5
We just want a clean no problem easy motel on a road trip with our dog. But this one is ghetto and scary.
- 3/5
The room was very clean, though the air freshener was a little bit heavy. The wifi was strong and reliable. On the down side the bed was not the most supportive and the heater was difficult to work because several of the labels were unreadable so it was kind of guess work.
- 5/5
It was good
- 2/5
Desk chair missing a wheel someone could fall over. Got out of bed to use the bathroom got back to find a bug in the bed dead I should of taken a picture no spare t-paper ran out asked the front desk for more he said we don’t have that here. One shampoo and bar of soap I’m there for 3 nights. No refrigerator in room or microwave.
- 3/5
No more stays
- 3/5
Needs some upgrade
- 3/5
Landscaping was entirely too loud the morning I needed to check out. It was a bit unsafe the heating system wasn’t properly put together. Cracks all over the walls the faucet a shower head was spewing out water making a mess.
- 3/5
Great place for a quick night stayover, clean, but lots of noise from the road. Soothing music played during sleep may help drown out the noise.
- 4/5
Office and staff members were were kind.
- 2/5
room was clean but the heater wasnt working right, first it cooked us and then when I tried to adjust it we got only cool air, we were freeing two nights with thin blankets.
- 1/5
Horrible place! Dirty! Saw 3 roaches in ten minutes
- 1/5
Not nice
- 4/5
It’s a convenient location. Very affordable.
- 4/5
Not my style of place
- 1/5
My experience was horrible the room was freezing, roaches crawling up the wall, i have pictures, the bed spread was dirty. I didnt sleep thru the night only to leave for work the next day and never returned. I was suppose to have a 2 night stay. I asked for a refund and was told to call the booking agency who i paid, when i called them which is hotel.com never use them. I was told i had to send them 62.89 and they will look into why i was asking for a refund, i told the man the place has roaches, its cold and dirty. I told the rude man i was talking to i will not send you a dam dime for you to refund the money for the day i didnt stay. I hung up the phone i was so disgusted with the Red Roof in lutherville, md never stay there i guarantee you will be 💯 % disappointed.
- 3/5
My fault not realizing that but it will make so I consider other option next time. The bedding didn't match, my bed had 2 sheets a comforter, the other bed only had a sheet and a blanket. The rate was really really good so we got what we paid for. The front desk was very nice, but housekeeping was always blocking the elevator with laundry.
- 5/5
I really enjoy my stay definitely...i have a small issue and i seen a roach just 1 tho but if they stay on a exterminator and keep it exterminated great place to stay
- 3/5
Live roaches in first two rooms offered. Check in person said she would give a refund, but on the third try, the room was roach-free. Stay was satisfactory (purchased bug spray to use around the entire floor base) for 3 nights.
- 1/5
This property is full of drug dealers, and roaches. Stay away. This has got to be the worst hotel experience of my life
- 1/5
Person at desk barely spoke to me, when asked how I was paying and I said Expedia. He didn’t say another word and passed key to me. Place is very worn and needs updating
- 1/5
It was not only people walking around being loud all night but it looked nothing like the pictures presented on the site. The room smelled of smoke and looked just as bad on the inside. Ive had yet to get my refund and I didnt even end up staying due to the very strong odor and lack of feeling safe
- 1/5
Ie homeless, sex workers, people involved in illegal activities and so on. There was overflowing trash bins outside. The room that was reserved for me had no curtains or they were torn did not cover the windows. I left immediately! Afraid to get out of my car! The worst!
- 2/5
There were flies and gnats in the room. Even in a non smoker room I could smell smoke from another room. Very noisy/paper thin walls
- 1/5
Rooms smell like cigarettes. Heater doesn't work and mattress needs to be replaced. Worst experience.
- 4/5
Roomsneed updatingbut oversll goid stay
- 4/5
Front desk woman was highly hostile. Still not sure why and she charged my card for $50 extra once we left for Smoking! We don't smoke and had used an incense the day we moved, (honestly out of respect since one trash bag contained a diaper)and I even argued I had the incense (which was seen) and receipts! Still got charged $50 for absolutely no reason but that, I guess, she could. Had a horrible attitude from the moment we met.
- 3/5
Nice hotel just need to get exterminator before the roaches get out of hand
- 2/5
Although we were given a newer, cleaner room upon complaint, but someone tried to get in/force the door open during the night. It woke us up and scared us...the person didn't even shut the door tight after they stopped trying. Never again.
- 2/5
There were cigarette burns in the blankets and I found a used band aid in the bathroom.
- 3/5
The property is clean but for a “non smoking” room we definitely smelled cigarette smoke when we opened the door to the room. You hear people walking by the rooms all night since they face outward. The one headboard light didn’t work, the bathroom is very tiny. The property listing says microwave and fridge in room, there is not one in the room. There is only one small trash can in the room. There is no larger outside trash can on the second floor so i had to keep walking down to the trash can outside the lobby to throw away our trash. I didn’t pick the place expecting a 5 star stay, i just needed some place close to my event and that was clean. This place met the requirements.
- 2/5
It disturbed me, as soon as I walked in the bathroom there was a roach in the tub looking at me looking at him. I killed at least 3 or 4 bugs that night. It was dry blood on the ceiling like a small splat that’s not too noticeable but noticeable. Overall I felt like I slept in a rm where a crime was committed and like I’m in the hood neighborhood with the roaches. Wouldn’t recommend this location. It’s too trapped out and dirty for me.
- 2/5
I had to have my room changed 2 times . The first room had trash and no bedding . The second room mattress smelled of piss and room smelled like mildew
- 2/5
Very run down hotel. The pictures on the site do not capture the condition of the rooms and property at all! Rooms are small and dusky. Some bugs. Furniture is worn . I reserved a "deluxe room"... Which had zero amenities.
- 1/5
Roaches
- 3/5
I really like that the water was very hot. But I really didn’t like the area, or the fact that they had a lot of people just standing around outside at 1 and 2 am in morning and it was very cold. As well as the trash outside was over running with more debris in the hallway.
- 1/5
Place needs to be condemned or total gut and renovated
- 5/5
Great service, great customer service.
- 4/5
Water pressure in shower was very good, time for the hot water to heat for the shower was exceptional especially for being on the third floor. Room was comfortable and clean and quiet. Bathroom was very small but we managed. Liked there was an elevator, which we discovered on our own. All in all it was a good stay. Will probably stay again if in the area.
- 4/5
AMPLE hot water for showers AND water pressure.
- 2/5
I will look for a different place to stay.
- 2/5
This place is a total dump. There was something that dripped down the wall and left behind streaks, we had a fly in the room and there was a nail in the curtain. It wasn’t always this bad, but has gone down hill.
- 3/5
The front desk person was very nice....There is MOLD on the ceiling (RM 128)above the window, very dusty, debris under the bed, the mirrors were filthy, the floor felt sticky in bare feet, and the smell of nicotine, when we went in, was awful, especially when I asked for a NON- SMOKING room. lg ants on the window sill(alive).
- 3/5
It was walking distance
- 4/5
The property required constant cleaning process. A lot of dog excrement in the green areas and bad smell.
- 1/5
The bathroom was like a box for a mime, it reeked of smoke. I have to wash all of my clothes because they stink, and I don't smoke. The room itself reeked, could have opened the door once or twice. When you cut the light on in the bathroom, the noisy loud fan came on, if anyone was sleeping in the middle of the night THAT woke them,PERIOD. NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!
- 1/5
When we first got there, the first room that we had smelled like smoke and one of the lamps didn’t work. We asked for a new lightbulb and they gave us an entirely different room for no extra charge. The next night, we asked to be upgraded to a premium room and the guy upgraded us for $4 extra which was no big deal. The bedsheets and curtains had holes in them and the toilet handle didn’t work properly. We explained it to the guy and he gave us another room (our 4th room) for no extra charge as well. Out of our 2 night stay, we had 4 different rooms. I wouldn’t recommend staying here
- 3/5
Room was clean but not well kept
- 2/5
Not a pleasant facility - certainly not up to the advertisement!!
- 1/5
It stinked so bad
- 5/5
Excellent service and room
- 4/5
Convenient
- 1/5
HOTELS.COM has said they tried to reach them multiple times but couldnt get through and now i will lose the money for the 1 night stay. You mean to tell me hotels.com cant get in touch with one of the hotels they promote on their website?? RIDICULOUS. This hotel is so bad i wouldn't have stayed either way, but to add insult to injury, now Hotels.com is coming up lame. I guess ill have to think twice before going thru a 3rd party system moving forward. Not happy with this transaction!
- 2/5
The properties overall appearance was not good, it didn't look anything like the pictures online and was not very clean but the staff was very accommodating so it made the experience tolerable.
- 1/5
Disgusting
- 2/5
Cigarette burns in bed blankets, overall poorly maintained room, random holes and screws sticking out in some spots, smelled like smoke. It wasn’t too expensive so I guess it was worth it. There were other hotels for $70-90 and this one was about $130 and I was hoping that being in the middle of the road price it would’ve been better than how it was.
- 2/5
The room was filled with flies and other small bugs. Instead of going back to get another room, i opened up the front door and chased the bugs out. The room was barely clean, but the sheets didnt look that clean. I slept on a towel I brought from home and fully dressed. I was very disappointed at this Hotel considering its located in my own upscale community of Timonium Md. I will not stay here again in the near future. Also the Marijuana smell from outside was horrible.....
- 1/5
No housekeeping
- 1/5
There were flys everywhere in the rooms.
- 4/5
Not bad place
- 3/5
I asked what Red Roof Inn Plus meant and it means the property has been updated. And maybe it has but it is just average. We stayed in a premium room which means you get better sheets, snack and coffee. There was a coffee maker, maybe sheets were better than other rooms. Bed was probably better than others. It just was not what I was hoping for. We stayed there because it is really convenient to the Maryland State Fair Grounds.
- 5/5
Great economical stay. Nothing fancy but perfect for our two night of sleep
- 1/5
Roaches in the bathroom and the lobby smelled funny.
- 1/5
‘Upgrades’ were a fridge, microwave, iron in the room. ‘Upgrades’ means increased room price. Multiple requests to have bedding/towels replaced during 2 wk stay and had to chase housekeeping to get this service. Had to replenish toilet paper, tissues, cups on our own during stay in the room. NO AMENITIES other than free parking. Non smoking room surrounded by smoking rooms: how does that work?? Reviews and internet description does not match reality.
- 4/5
I like the establishment and the location

Timo RedRoof is clean & desk staff is good. Facility shows its age. Very convenient for my purposes. Pretty far out if you want to go to downtown Balto. So take the Rail Car!

bathtub was filthy and the room was dirty-- I considered sleeping in my vehicle and i canceled what was a 2 night stay into 1-- never again at a Red Roof Inn-- this is twicw in two years at a Red Roof-- terrible both times-- finally learned my lesson!!!!
