Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The location, particularly its proximity to UCLA, is a significant advantage. However, there are frequent complaints about the condition of the rooms, including issues with furniture, bathroom fixtures, and cleanliness. Noise, particularly from parties and the pool area, is another common concern.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Great location, particularly close to UCLA
- Rooms in need of update and repair
- Noise issues, particularly from parties and the pool area

Spacious room great amenities. Quiet location. Lovely staff and super helpful
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay in Westwood! Walking distance to UCLA and right next to the Botanical Gardens!! Perfect location!!
- 5/5
Always love coming here.
- 5/5
Great location, many delivery options for offsite food after hours. The living room restaurant was excellent for breakfast, I like my bloody mary a bit thicker but the spice was just right. Never made it to the pool, I hear its the spot. Staff was excellent at check in and out, which were both off hours. Room was clean, big and comfortable, shower and bathroom nice, and the iron didn't leak. Back in town, I would definitely stay again.

I love the W! The staff is awesome! They

I love this hotel. Period. Nestled in

Great stay. Amazing staff. Would definitely stay again
- 4/5
Amenities are great staff is fantastic. The only disappointment was that the bathrooms are inordinately small.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent! Pool was outside and amazing!
- 5/5
Always great to stay here. So close to ucla for us.
- 5/5
Great staff ,quiet property, enjoyed my stay
- 4/5
I like shower and good comfortable bed Windows shatters very old also super expensive food
- 5/5
Great but a lot of extra expenses
- 1/5
Room and staff were great but the pool is the size of a birdbath so no good for swimmers.
- 4.5/5
The location to UCLA was excellent. The staff was VERY kind. Limited hours for the outdoor restaurant and limited services by the pool. But assume it will get better as we get closer to summer.
- 4/5
The trip started out with some issues, but the manager was fantastic and helped us with all the problems.
- 1/5
First they were two hours late to give us our room on check in, so didn’t get into the room till after 5pm. The room was not ideal and was dirty and old. Paint was chipping off the wall in the bathroom. There was absolutely no view from our room, just of other rooms. The worst part was the manager promised a better room and we are still waiting for him to reach out to follow up.
- 2/5
I stayed in the mega suite and while it was large and spacious, the furniture felt cheap, there were nicks on some of the walls, and lastly and most importantly this hotel is not in Beverly Hills. False and misleading advertising on their part. The hotel is in Westwood.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
The staff was incredible and the hotel was beautiful.
- 2/5
Rude staff
- 4.5/5
The room The toat bag scared me. No lock on bathroom
- 4/5
The folks were very nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit tired. We had a room that was updated to a junior suite. The snacks and wet bar was good. The bathroom products can not be better. Davines from Italy. The bed was comfy too. The real problem is the air quality... The HVAC system is very tired. There are two zones. I used clorex wipes to clean the intake and outtake vents. I had to use several sheets. And they still need a lot of work. The windows have wooden shutters. They are very dusty too... Overall the W worked out for our trip. But I'm not sure we can stay there. With my wife's asthma and my allergies was quite a challenge... This was hard to write because the staff was so nice🙏🙏🙏 All the best Burton
- 5/5
Rooms are spacious and well-appointed with quality linens, comfortable bedding, and seating area. If there were any criticism, I’d say that an in-room coffee maker is definitely a miss on this otherwise quality Marriott/W Brand hotel.
- 5/5
First time at this place and it was an excellent hotel. Staff was great. Lunch was terrific.
- 4/5
The hotel was very nice even through the construction.
- 5/5
The staff and room were exceptional. Definitely coming back!
- 5/5
5 stars
- 3/5
Hotel lobby was under construction messy entryway with unclear directions on where to go when you walk in as the check-in process was on a different floor. Parking was exorbitantly expensive as are the items in the mini bar in the room. I ordinarily want to two dollars or 12 to 15 or $20 which is just highway robbery. I've stayed at the W in other cities and had a much better experience.
- 5/5
Staff always great, helpful, friendly. Although somehow
- 5/5
The manager Edgar was very good. Nice person and down to earth. we appreciated his help and kindness.
- 1.5/5
The front desk people were very nice. When I complained about the dirty carpet, they had housekeeping call me. the room was spacious. The room was very worn. The carpet was dirty/stained. House keeping explained that they had tried to get the stain out but they were not able to. The wall paper in the bathroom was torn. The shower was not up to par. You had to walk in to the shower to turn the water on and you got et in the process. There was not a place to put cosmetics, even thought he room was spacious. The bedside lamp was placed far away from the bedside. We were in LA for our son to receive medical care, the refrigerator was small and full of alcohol. The corners of the entire hotel were dirty and needed painting.
- 5/5
This hotel is everything you want a hotel to be. It was modern, updated, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great and you knew the stay was going to be great.
- 3/5
It’s ok I wouldn’t stay there again
- 5/5
Needed an Uber for everything.
- 5/5
Staff was great! Location was perfect. The rooms could use some new furniture though. Other than that no complaints.
- 4/5
Close to UCLA campus
- 5/5
Nice location.. beautiful room…restaurant and shopping nearby
- 2/5
This was my second stay in 2 months. Hotel is old and outdated. Rooms are in poor condition - beds uncomfortable, pillows just awful, walls dirty and scuffed, bathrooms from the 1980s. Our room wasn't ready at 4 pm... we were given an accessible room which had the worst shower I have ever seen. Water went everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. That must have happened many times before, based on the terrible condition of the bathroom. I would never stay here if it weren't close to UCLA.
- 5/5
Safe clean friendly helpful staff
- 5/5
Clean safe walkable
- 5/5
Personnel was amazing and attentive. I ion was gorgeous (:
- 4/5
Nice hotel, clean, staff very polite. Only disappointment was that the bathroom was very small , the toilet to close to the tub.
- 4.5/5
Pool and restaurant were great. The beds were very comfy.
- 5/5
No. Everything was absolutely wonderful.
- 3/5
All restaurants were closed. Although the pool was open, the area around pool was under serious construction. Breakfast conducted of a tray of pastries and coffee and hot tea. Location is great and valet was excellent. Our room was not ready at check in time.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel with great location. It was very easy to get around the city from this location. Safe neighbourhood and quite a few options for eating out. Amazing staff!
- 5/5
Lovely
- 4/5
Great location and the staff was great. But... no restaurant or bar available onsite. Lobby bar... closed. Pool bar... closed. Room service... nope.
- 5/5
Richard was a great host and took care of us well.
- 4/5
There was no restaurant or bar service due to renovations and that was not included in the Expedia profile.
- 2/5
It would have been nice to know ahead of time that they had no restaurants, room service or any kind of bar before booking this, my worst stay at a W ever
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
The entire staff was absolutely marvelous, approachable, kind and ready to assist. Brewer and Katherine at check-in, Yolanda and Sandra room service all were amazing and provided the best customer service and made us all feel at home! My son loved you all. Seriously THAT good! Thank you, #709 😊
- 5/5
Great stay! Will be back
- 2/5
Bar and restaurant closed for renovation and was not informed in advance. Was told that it was on their website and they didn’t have to inform me cause I booked through Expedia. Manager was rude and dismissive.
- 2/5
No restaurant in the hotel. It was closed. No breakfast. Nothing. The hotel didn’t say and the price did not reflect. It remained high.
- 5/5
Construction sucked but the Beyonce set up was everything
- 5/5
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel when I was in town. The location is great, and the staff are all very nice. The only feedback I have is that the tv was placed to the side of the bed, so it was a bit challenging to see. Also, the bathroom has sliding doors that require some effort to close all the way, plus there is a small gap. Otherwise, great hotel!
- 5/5
Loved it and will come back
- 1/5
no food or drink
- 3/5
Just ok.
- 5/5
Room was spacious, large high quality sofa, tv was good and easy to add and delete streaming log in. Living room bar is quite nice with excellent drinks and service.
- 5/5
Terrific in every way!
- 5/5
Construction on site
- 5/5
Even though that one night manager on duty on 5/24, was not happy that I took the wheelchair outside premise despite telling him the situation & that we had the blessings from those wonderful managers that were on duty in the morning & afternoon. Now because of this I might reconsider going back to Palomar or other hotels nearby.
- 5/5
Professional staff
- 3/5
Frankly, so disappointing. I booked one night be rest well before along work trip and the alarm clock went off at 2am then the tv turned on at 3 am. By tge time i realized what was going on at 4 am i was wide awake. I have no words. Total waste of money
- 5/5
Terrific team working at a very nice property.
- 5/5
Every single staff member is friendly and kind! They go above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
- 5/5
Very good property and personnel
- 5/5
Great staff, knowledgeable security, amazing food! I had a wonderful experience overall!
- 3/5
construction and ridiculously expensive restaurant
- 3/5
The lobby of the hotel was nice, with good decor, art, and had a restaurant. I booked a studio king bedroom. It was a large room but very basic. The room is in need of an upgrade. Old tub and shower combo and sink had no room for toiletries. I was on the 5th floor and the noise of music was non-stop all night. I believe from the hotel itself. Luckily my wife and I had ear plugs as we needed them both nights we stayed.
- 5/5
Excellent, easy checkin, great room, and the best pillows
- 1.5/5
Not much Undergoing renovation and it just looked so messy. Rooms were so average and basic, not like any other W I’ve stayed at around the world.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
My daughter and I loved the property. Super close to UCLA med school.
- 5/5
Every single staff member is so polite, helpful, and friendly. Every. single. One.
- 2/5
Ash residue in my sink when I first walked in the room. Worn carpets, cracked bathroom tile, two random luggage racks left leaning on my bed. The place has been run down and it’s loud there with construction and club/restaurant there. Vault and front desk staff was excellent, but Marriott should rethink the first floor environment they are creating and do a full remodel. Run down location in a great area. It’s pretty ghetto for Westwood. Dirty and run down room
- 5/5
Really lovely staff and great rooms. Will stay again for sure
- 5/5
Staff was pleasant, helpful and attentive. Kudos particularly to the valets who were all very hard working.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and location are pluses.
- 2/5
Disappointing
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Really great hotel and prime location if you’re visiting UCLA, or want to be slightly outside Beverly Hills. Rooms are spacious and clean, and the vibe around the pool area is great. The food options at the hotel are okay, and the room’s ventilation dried the air slightly. Outside of that, it’s a solid option, with plenty to do around.
- 3/5
I called ahead to book an extra bed/cot because we were 3 people staying in the suite. When we arrived, there was no extra bed. We decided to share beds instead. I received a charge per night for the bed that never arrived. They remembered to charge me for the service, but they did not remember to actually provide the service. I did not realize until I got home because the invoice they emailed me the morning of checkout said zero charges so I used the express checkout. When I arrived home, I saw I had a charge on my card and a new invoice. The room was cold. We tried to change the thermostat and it didn’t make the suite any warmer. There were 2 robes and 2 water bottles for 3 in the room (yes, we indicated there would be 3 guests when we booked) and only 1 of the 2 beds had a duvet. Service in the lounge was so slow we went to the poolside restaurant to get some food. The server told us they didn’t have a busser and they were slammed and that we could get food in the lounge. She said “I won’t hate you if you sit here”. So back to the lounge we went. We waited quite a while for service and when the bartender came to drop off menus she asked if we were ready to order. You just dropped off the menus so how would we know what we want yet? The staff fixed the charges and brought up the extra blanket and robe we needed after I called, but I would expect these things to be taken care of for the price and reputation of this hotel chain.

The customer service was the best!! Richard was so kind and made us feel so welcomed when we checked in after a very long travel day (4.5 hour flight delay). Room was so nice and clean. Work out room was awesome! Highly recommend and will definitely stay next time we’re in LA. Thank you to the staff at the W!!
- 4.5/5
Location Breakfast is so so
- 4/5
The hotel was fantastic. The staff was so kind and always willing to help or offer assistance. We use the valet parking 1 day and would recommend that if you're renting a car. The pool area was beautiful and clean. Every day our room was cleaned, bed made, etc. I used the gym two days and it was spotless! Overall, a great stay!
- 5/5
Excellent property and staff

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Amazing stay . One of the best in recent times . Wonderful service right from reception to valet to house keeping . Great location and quiet and peaceful . Easier access and after my recent miserable Hilton experience this one was a blessing . Thank u the whole team at W
- 5/5
Honestly once again treated like royalty we stayed in the big suite before going to get married the staff was so lovely and super excited for us they sent us a beautiful bottle of champagne to celebrate along with a hand written note. It’s the little things! The room was pristine cleaning was impeccable and STK is delicious. I recommend this hotel it is close to everything and very safe nice neighborhood. Thank you W for another wonderful stay.

My stay at the W Los Angeles Beverly Hills was remarkable. From the nice staff and clean hotel to the awesome restaurant and pool area, I would give this hotel a 10/10. It is also in a walkable area with many restaurants and grocery stores. Very nice cozy and safe area. Moving forward I’ll be staying at this hotel when come to LA.
- 5/5
Close to westwood and UCLA
- 5/5
I recently stayed at the W hotel while my soon to be wife had her bridal shower party at STK. We were treated with the greatest hospitality by the manager Darren and his excellent staff. Darren recommended the braised short rib plate, and it was absolutely fantastic. My experience was beyond a 5 star review.
- 5/5
Overall was good
- 4/5
Room was fine, but faced Santa Monica Boulevard and was a bit noisy. A prior occupant used ribbon to take something to the window, and remnants of the ribbon were still taped to the window. Based on hotel floor plan, it appears that the rooms available through Hotels.com were the smallest and least desirable. Ours was low and faced the street, rather than the quieter pool side of the hotel. Breakfast and lunch options were limited, and significantly more expensive than similar meals at neighboring restaurants. Staff were quite friendly and the room price was quite reasonable.
- 4/5
Good property, would recommend to stay
- 1/5
It was a terrible experience as not expected from the W chain. The room quality was bad, no blackouts and room were always light since 7am. No coffee machines and water. Rooms are very noisy and old furnished.
- 5/5
My wife and I had a wonderful getaway weekend together and this hotel honestly couldn't have been better!! All of rhe other hotels in the area had multiple misc fees, in addition to the room charge, and this one didn't. That was an appealing bonus for us. The only additional fee we paid was for valet parking. The hotel itself is modern, updated, beautifully decorated and it smells amazing!! We will definitely stay here again in the future and will highly recommend it to others!!!
- 5/5
This was a good experience for LA.
- 1/5
Cockroach. Musty smell. It’s not ok.

- 4/5
Great hotel. Great staff. Room was nice and has plenty of room.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Perfect neighbourhood as a starting point to access many of LA’s sights. Lovely neighbourhood with many food options nearby. Felt very safe. Staff were lovely and complimentary fresh brewed coffee in the morning was delicious. And very comfortable bed!
- 5/5
Location was great.
- 5/5
We love the location, so close to UCLA, front desk, bellman, valet & housekeepers are all friendly & helpful to us.
- 5/5
Great place and service. Decent location near UCLA. Not advised to walk around at night, there isn’t safety in numbers because it’s a car focused city and occasional homelessness.
- 5/5
Great

- 5/5
Fantastic, as usual.

The w was very nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was very roomy and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

- 5/5
Everything & everyone was great!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Super nice area. Very close to UCLA, which is our main destination at the time we book.
- 5/5
The amenities and staff at the W Hotel impressed me from the moment I walked in. The team member who checked me in was friendly and seemed legitimately interested in helping me enjoy my time in the hotel and in Los Angeles as a whole. My room had an awesome view of Westwood and UCLA, and the room itself was huge especially considering the location in one of the more expensive areas of LA. The room rate was not cheap but it was well worth it!
