Reviews
The Hoxton hotel is highly praised for its beautiful design, comfortable rooms, and exceptional staff. Guests frequently mention the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, as well as the convenience of the hotel's location. However, some guests have noted issues with noise, parking, and the size of the rooms.
- Exceptional staff and customer service
- Beautifully designed hotel with comfortable rooms
- Noise issues, particularly from neighboring rooms and the street
- Limited and expensive parking options

I would definitely stay again Also, in the fashion District near all the alleys and streets of fun kiosks and shops. Five minute walk.

LOVE THE HOXTON. Best hotel! Food is great, staff are amazing, the rooms are comfortable and classy. Central location, easy to get to, and I’ve even used their Aescape robot massage as a great way to wind up the day.

Excellent choice on menu, good-sized portions, really tasty and beautifully presented. Service was a little slow - perhaps more staff needed. But very friendly and helpful servers.

Beautiful piece of LA history. Too bad its surrounded by trash

Inside the hotel looks nice and clean. Theres nearby clubs and venues, which will disturb your sleep.

We really liked the hotel and wish we could have taken advantage of more amentities. Would recommend

I used to live in Los Angeles and was just there for an overnight stay, however, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Rooms were well appointed with nice decor, a little on the small side but nice. Decent location downtown LA nearby many restaurants, shops, entertainment, lots of walking and transit options. Would likely stay again if needed.

Very nice property with a vintage vibe - feels very different than a mass market hotel chain - woth a splurge for a unique experience- would stay here again - great location in historical district on a low traffic street - good food places nearby - excellent bedding - had a great night sleep - nice soaps and great hair dryer, nice rooftop terrace with bar/restaurant, excellent in-room coffee. Only a few nitpicks - unusual lighting controls and dim lighting in the room, our ‘big room’ felt small (probably to be expected given the DTLA location), small table and chairs in room not suitable for work, food is a bit pricey - $35 for a flat white and a egg and cheese croissant, staff at lobby coffee shop and dinette were a bit curt.
- 5/5
The entire staff was very courteous and accommodating. The hotel is part of downtown L.A. history. The bar area and my room had character. The half windows in the rooftop pool and restaurant allowed the most spectacular view of the city at night. I would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
The room is clean and cozy but a bit crowded. Not a lot of desktop space or storage space. There’s no gym on property but there’s a roof top pool.
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem!!! I will definitely make a point to go back! Everything is adorable and functional! The attached diner is delicious and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and went the extra mile. Valet parking available too. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Our room was so cute and felt absolutely private! Perfect getaway. I ranked down 1 star only because there was no fan in bathroom and the tub plug didn’t fit. Also we left special requests that were not fulfilled like extra water and regular sugar. But otherwise it was such an enjoyable stay!

1. Terrible parking availability. 2. Noise issue 1. Valet is $66 PER NIGHT. And good luck parking on any of the lots nearby on the street (not associated with the hotel). There's a HIGH CHANCE your car will be smashed and vandalized. We got back from dinner and these poor guys' window was smashed and they said several other cars were smashed too. The lots claim they're surveilled 24hr, but that's a lie. Unless there's a 24/7 lot attendant, I would NOT trust these streets. 2. At the top floor, at night past 10 pm, there was an incessant deep rumbling sound, as if someone's Escalade was parked outside the building blasting bass music all night even a quarter past 2 am. I guess it was a club down the street somewhere. If you're someone who can't sleep through this constant rumbling like me, then this will NOT be a nice evening experience. Staff was kind enough (shout out to Kevian) for helping me find a quieter room. But being in an area with lots of nightlife, there is always going to be sounds around. The 2 main things that made this experience great: 1. Great service and hospitable staff 2. Dog friendly - though I would suggest having a "pet relief" area somewhere outside or on the rooftop terrace. That would help a lot!

I had a lovely stay at the Hoxton hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was prime to metro routes and downtown tourist attractions

The decor was so cool. I loved all the thoughtful details. They had a text option we could use to ask questions or request things. Very quick results with the texting. The staff was very helpful and polite. We would definitely stay there again. I wasn't 100% sure that people couldn't see through the shade in the bathroom. I should have asked.

Rooms are fine, but even with a “quiet” part of the building on the 8th of 10 floors, unreal amount of traffic noise. Poor attention to construction of windows and no intentional use of white noise. Over the course of 3 nights, was woken up frequently around 3am with drag races, motorcycles, people yelling at each other outside, or bus brakes starting at 7am. Also the amenities are unremarkable, food/beverages way overpriced ($11 for a below average croissant, $40 for light breakfast), and some staff a bit disingenuous and unfriendly. This hotel tries a bit too hard to be something it’s not. Having stayed a few times at the Hotel Figueroa a few blocks away, do yourself a favor and stay there instead for a much classier, better experience.

Downtown pretty loud (street sounds and sirens) and even being on the top floor I had a hard time with sounds. Room was on the smaller side for the upgrade and the price.

A little disappointed in room size as I did not think cost was that small. The Room service QR code didn’t work. When I called the front desk, I was connected to restaurant upstairs but no one answered so I had to go up in person. After being told I needed to order off the prefix menu I only received one out of 3 items, but was charged $99. I am still waiting on receipt to be emailed for my stay.

Cleaning staff for my room was great, but i was expecting less wear and tear throughout: a hanging hook in the bathroom was broken, my bathroom sink drained very slowly, bedroom furniture was a bit worn, etc.

This hotel has a cool vibe. Overall my 3-night stay was fine. The rooms are much smaller than they appear online, and the hotel itself tries to be tech-forward but ends up feeling very low touchpoint. The room has a rotary phone (ooh trendy) but there’s no way to call the front desk and no concierge. Only a limited menu available by QR code. This probably works for some people, but with the size and limited staff, it felt more like the trendy LA version of a Best Western—and at least you can call the front desk from your room at a Best Western.

Upon checking in I was confused with the parking as I called the hotel to find out more information about the parking I asked how we go about parking and there was a rude agent saying we spoke a moment ago which was not true I then proceeded to check in to the room with the front desk which I might add was very nice and attentive however I was so frustrated already with whomever I did speak to on the phone this with a number or incidents with the room were not up to the hoxton standers

Cute, retro vibe. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower. The property definitely pays attention to all the details. Offers in room coffee, tea, water, and milk. Room service was good, both food and service. Parking/valet only, no direct explanation of the cost. Very small room (I didn’t mind it, but for those who want space, this is not the place). Tried to charge me even though it was prepaid at booking.com

What a little gem in downtown LA! The hotel has the coolest vibe as soon as you walk in. Great music, friendly staff, cute restaurants. The design of this hotel is just perfect! The hallways are quiet and the rooms are so inviting. The attention to detail in the rooms is truly unmatched. The decor is cozy and chic, beds are just the right firm, pillows perfect and the touches of gold and brass just tie everything in. They have the cutest kettles for coffee, mugs for coffee with the sweetest messages and etched green glasses for your wine. They even provide a real wine opener! Hidden premium mini fridge stocked with water and milk for coffee. The shower is large and the rain shower head is probably the best I’ve ever experienced! Seriously a true delight! I can’t wait to come back again when we are back in town! The Hoxton has thought of everything! Love it!

We felt unsafe around this hotel. A lot of Homeless in this area. This hotel charges $66 for 24-hour parking. We were instructed to park in a nearby parking lot for $30 for 24 hours. And we did, but felt VERY unsafe walking back. We asked for ice and they brought us a nice ice bucket full on the first night, but the second night we received ice in a plastic food container.

Stellar staff—kind and thoughtful, and went above and beyond (navigating food allergies—folks at Moonlark were wonderful, and when an alarm starting going off in the room next door at midnight, the staff immediately figured out how to find the issue and turn off the alarm). Great shower pressure and many thoughtful touches throughout, even if rooms definitely on the cozy side! Would happily return!

Valet, food options in the hotel, the look of it is really nice upon entry and the rooftop was excellent! Yummy hummus for a late night snack. Cold water in shower two of the days, tv options were very outdated. No options to stream or connect a phone to airplay. Hallway smelt of mildew really bad. Staff was pretty nice but seemed a little put out when asking for a new key or iron for the room (front desk). The air conditioner didn’t work great either, not a lot of air circulation even with higher fan settings and it definitely wasn’t as cold in the room as the thermostat said. The location is a little more run down than expected.

We had a lovely time at the HOXTON hotel, good breakfast, very nice staff, front desk, and excellent valet.
- 5/5
Sweet hotel. Excellent service. Both restaurants were very good. Room was small but well appointed. Nice touches
- 5/5
The staff is amazing! Dinette and rooftop bar/pool gave excellent service. I love the room design. The eco-friendly a/c system was an adjustment. I was really hot until I asked the front desk for a fan. They provided one quickly! I will return again! Highly recommend.
- 5/5
loved the diner in the hotel, plenty of food options nearby…super walkable, friendly staff
- 4/5
We enjoyed the style and feel of the hotel! The shower, pool, product amenities were top notch!
- 5/5
Amazingly relaxing place. Super central location, great staff. All areas of the hotel was spotless. The room and bed was very comfortable.
- 3/5
Little to no parking so I opted for valet parking every night of the stay. The place is very cute overall. They didn’t housekeep my room or pick up my breakfast request from my door which I was upset about because I had even talked to the front desk about it and they didn’t do anything until the second time I talked to them (too late for housekeeping but they accommodated for the breakfast bag, which was super mid so not even worth the fight). The place is overall a cramped space but I would imagine that it does the job if you are traveling solo.

Great classic hotel that is well maintained with great staff.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing. What we did NOT appreciate is that we were not told the rooftop bar and restaurant have been closed and under renovation for months and will continue to be for the remainder of the YEAR. It was a big selling point in why we booked here. I think that needs to be disclosed somewhere.

Everything is good

I loved the art deco vibe. Great location for visiting USC. On site restaurant was good. They make a really good bloody mary.
- 3/5
The hotel is fine. However, the pictures are misleading. There are no lounge chairs by the pool like the first picture that comes up. In addition, the rooftop bar/restaurant was closed due to renovations. It would’ve been nice to know this before booking.
- 5/5
I slept well here, which is most important to me when staying at hotels, but alongside that there were other great points that made this a hotel I’ll be staying at again (and want to try out their other locations!). 1.) easy valet! 2.) good diner within the hotel for when I got snackish 3.) sweet staff 4.) lovely details in the room itself 5.) hot water in the shower that lasted for 2 people to take showers back-to-back 6.) yummy $5/apiece breakfast left on our door 7.) bedside books that were carefully chosen

The room was small. The bathroom and the shower room was separated and you had to walk out of the shower into the bedroom to get to the bathroom where the towels were. The lights had switches that you had to flick over and over until the lights came on. They gave us only one coffee for two people. The bathroom on the lobby floor didn't lock and it was FILTHY. The front desk was curt and unfriendly. I did not eat there so I can't rate the restaurant.
- 5/5
The rooms were beautifully designed, and the overall art deco look of the hotel was super-cool and congruent with the downtown architecture. Rooftop pool area was lovely, and even though the dining areas up there were closed during our stay, you could see how stunning they were. Nice service and laid back feel, and the location is very convenient for exploring DTLA. Recommended.

I loved this hotel! They have an electric kettle in the room with as much tea, coffee, milk, and canned water as you would like. The room was decorated beautifully and the bed was so comfortable. I ended up sleeping in one morning and working at my laptop in my pajamas instead of getting up and working out. They offer a $5 mini breakfast at your door, which was convenient the morning I left for the airport. The restaurant was great and the view from the rooftop of downtown LA was beautiful at night. I will definitely stay at this hotel again!

All of the details have been considered. The Moonlark restaurant has an amazing staff, great coffee and overnight oats and I enjoyed that I could take it outside or upstairs. The hotel fits into the neighborhood perfectly and the pool and pool area are an absolute treat. It's my new go-to destination when I come to LA. Thanks y'all!

Rooms are large and comfortable The restaurant food is excellent
- 5/5
The hotel is great, clean cute. The area is not super bad, hut not entirely comfortable. But will definitely stay again.

Really liked the guide to LA and user friendly website. Room was very cute, a bit on the small side, but kept very clean and tidy. Pool and restaurant were great.
- 3/5
Also, check out is at 12pm, someone came to knock on everyone's door at 12:06 to ask if you were planning to check out - I was on my way to the elevator so it was fine - but just be aware - It's definitely no frills.

nice people
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, safe and pool area was my favorite. It was in a quiet part of LA away 15 min (walking) away from busy downtown streets. Perfect location for someone who drives.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome, helpful and welcoming. Decor was great. We worried that this would be a concept hotel, where the look matters more than the guest experience. But besides light switches that require a tutorial to operate, everything was grand.
- 4/5
Liked everything except for the air conditioner being a bit weak
- 5/5
Right downtown, walkable to movie theaters, we enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
The Hoxton is a beautifully designed hotel with comfy rooms, great service, and an unbeatable downtown location. The on-site restaurants, including the rooftop spot, are a major plus—great food and a lively atmosphere without having to leave the hotel. Just a heads-up: there’s a $100 incidental hold per night that may catch you off guard if you’re not expecting it—so plan ahead. Otherwise, everything was smooth and I’d gladly stay again!

In the heart of of LA theater district. Hotel has a great retro vibe about it with decor of the sixties or past. Staff, especially Jasmine at the front desk, are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cafe and coffee shop in the lobby area serves good food and the restaurant and bar on the top floor have great views of LA along with very good food and drink,

First off, everyone on staff we came into contact with were friendly, helpful, and perfect for this trip. The room was wonderful and very stylish. Loved the shower!!! The bad was very comfortable and we didn't notice any outdoor noise to disrupt our sleep. We went to the Peruvian restaurant upstairs and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our favorite though was the breakfast diner on the first floor, exceptional. Even the coffee bar in the morning was wonderful. We shall return.

Good location. Close to convention center

Overall nice hotel. Room was clean, plenty of light and the AC worked great. The bed was comfortable. Good access to bus lines. Roof top pool has great view. Rooms are small, no problem for one person, but too crowded for more. The bathroom and shower door are on hinges that close automatically, so you can't keep the doors open. I found this annoying. No gym which is fine. No laundry but they do offer laundry service from a third-party, but prices started at $4 per item. I could buy a new wardrobe instead.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Rooftop restaurant is wonderful
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and supportive at all time, the check-in was easy and we could store our bags before using the room, the dining options were delicious, our time in LA was great and convenient.
- 5/5
Especially given the price of rooms, I wish the rooftop pool had longer hours. It's closed before sunset in the summer, which is unfortunate. The rooms don't have closets and could benefit from luggage racks.

It was my partners birthday and the team made it so extra special - we got an upgrade and there was drink and a handwritten card waiting in hour room. The rooftop restaurant was delightful; everybody went above and beyond. We loved our stay. Thank you

We had an Amaizing time.

The rooftop bar, pool and restaurant were outstanding. Killer views, great cocktails, great food. The service was stellar at the restaurants and front desk as well. I thought I was in London between the room and service. The food was definitely California. I would stay here every time.
- 5/5
The hotel was fantastic! the coffee shop and restaurant on the first floor had good food and a good vibe. The room was nice but one suggestion- you could use an area for placing your suitcase in the room and a shelf or area in the bathroom for your toiletries. The real star of the show was the rooftop- the pool was amazing- an oasis! and the bar and restaurant were fantastic- the food was top notch- delicious!!

The Hoxton was terrible to work with. We had booked a non-refundable rate but due to the riots/protests in town there was a curfew of 8PM put into place. We contacted the hotel a couple days before our stay when we learned of the curfew and asked to cancel the reservation due to the circumstances in the area, they refused to cancel the reservation and said it was business as usual. When we arrived at the hotel at 8:30PM after a long day of travel the hotel had closed their restaurants and bar early incase there were issues with the curfew (so this was not business as usual). I guess they didn't care about their guests having anything to do or eat. We were told to use Uber Eats or travel outside of the LA area to get food. We again asked to cancel our reservation due to these circumstances and again were denied. After going to our room and finding Wi-Fi out and not even able to use our TV we decided not to stay at the hotel. They were unable to provide the services they offered and still would not refund our stay. We decided to leave the hotel and they didn't offer us any solutions for any kind of refund due to these extenuating circumstances. They only care about taking your money when they can't provide the services they say they offer. I would not stay here or book with them again.

Central location, good on-location restaurants. The room door only has one lock on the handle. Housekeeping was strange, one day they entered my room with the do not disturb tag on the door. Another day I arrived late afternoon and had to wait for an extra 55 minutes for housekeeping to be done even though I had tidied my room beforehand in the morning. And then same day same housekeeping knocks at my door again later, acting confused. Other than that, decent room.

Room size is great, clean and I love Blank products, nice pool. Staff nice and friendly but plumbing an issue ( i had to be moved room)

The Hoxton DTLA is so cute! I am probably their most loyal hotel guest at this point. The staff here are always so welcoming, respectful & personable, which you don’t find everywhere. it’s just so safe, bright and clean it’s perfect. Dayja and Isaac were so kind & helpful at the front desk! I highly recommend if you’re looking to stay in the area

The hotel is not far from USC. The room is small but the bed is comfortable. The front desk staff is friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our family dinner on the roof top.

Exceeded my expectations— the rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff is friendly, the rooftop is gorgeous.

We had the BEST stay here! Hands down one of my favourite hotel experiences. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the room was so cute and comfortable. We were celebrating my son’s bday and the staff made an effort every chance they could to wish him a happy birthday. It really was a wonderful place and we will definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Great rooms, love the wood floors. Walk in shower was spacious and the water pressure from the rainwall showerhead was solid. Lobby area is a great place to hang and chill out. Moonlark Dinnette is adorable, very cute vibe and the breakfast quesadillas were amazing. Staff really friendly and professional, they seem geinune and love to engage in a chat which is really nice. Solid snack menu for purchase from the check in desk. Overall The Hoxton has a great vibe, it's comfy and although it's cool it's not pretentious. Very happy with my stay The area a few block from the hotel is a bit sketchy. Definitely don't wander around, especially after dark. No issues with safety at the hotel though

The design. Parking was a nightmare and the houseless people and street garbage………devastating!

Close to USC campus. Great hotel stay. Always love staying here! Great rooms, great service. I jush wish there was food and drink service at the pool during pool hours.

I had a disappointing experience at the Hoxton Hotel in Downtown LA. The valet attendant—a bald gentleman with a beard—was surprisingly rude and condescending upon arrival and even departure. Unfortunately, the negative tone continued at checkout, where the front desk agent was unhelpful and curt. She refused to accommodate a simple request to charge the stay to my company credit card, and the way the situation was handled was both unprofessional and baffling. I expected better service from a hotel of this caliber.
- 5/5
I loved this hotel and its restaurants. I will return!
- 4/5
Customer service is inconsistent, some staff are friendly and helpful and others seem unhappy to be there or doing just a bare minimum. Room is clean, but the shower layout is awkward if you are staying with a friend - no place to undress before stepping into a shower. The area may be a bit shady at night, but no fault to the hotel.
- 5/5
Excellent Customer Service Liked everything

- 5/5
Hotel is clean and comfortable and staffs are friendly. I had a great stay.
- 4/5
The staff was fantastic and the accommodations were lovely. The only downside is that I wish the considerable fees per night had been included in the original cost. It came as quite a surprise at the end of the stay when there was an extra $50 per night. If it was on the Hotels.com description, I missed it. I would actually be willing to stay there again, but I would now do so from a more educated and prepared place.
- 4/5
We really like the front desk people especially the gentleman who checked us in. He is very warm and helpful. We also enjoyed the Cabra roof top restaurant. The Peruvian food they serve is amazing.
- 5/5
Very cute hotel. Loved the retro decor and attention to details. Staff was super friendly. Would stay there again.
- 3/5
The room was so small that I could only open my suitcase on the bed, and there wasn't anywhere to unpack my stuff. There was a place to hang clothes, though. The room was way too small for the price.

Easy to be pushed up and dropped off by transportation. Awesome pancakes at the restaurant, best I’ve had in decades… People polite and ready to serve.

I wish there was a cloths drawer in my room instead of the 10 hardback books available. Also, the lighting was a bit difficult to figure out but manageable. I would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Lighting in rooms, very dark and fixtures are a little complicated, very poor lighting for putting on make-up
