Great hotel, staff super friendly, the rooms are huge and clean. The only downside is the noise coming from outside in the wee hours of the morning - fire trucks, police cars, hot rods, motorcycles. You hear them all - not sure why it happens in this location but it does. The hotel left us ear plugs on the nightstand and I now understand why they do that. But if the noise wasn't an issue, I would be coming back for sure.

The restaurant was not to my liking. The food was below average, as was the service. Room service was over 2 hours late. No water available to drink in lobby, or rooms. A disappointment for sure!

This hotel was super clean and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Their pool area was well kept and very nice if you want to have a coffee outside in the morning. We truly loved everything about this hotel (the room, the shower pressure, the service) except for the noise -- we were on the 4th floor and could hear raves happening nearby both nights that we stayed (the noise stopped around 1:30am each night). Not a huge deal for us because we didn't need to get up early, but this could be less than ideal for others.

All that said the service was lacking for the price. On our way in we were offered bell hop service, but I ended up rolling our cart up 45 minutes later because it was still in the lobby and we had to get ready for our night. After dinner we called the front desk for a hypoallergenic pillow, and had to call two more times before it was delivered nearly two hours later.

Horrible staff. The room I booked they didn’t have. They downgraded my room. Staff was very rude and refused to accommodate or issue a refund, only provided a free conference room. Emailed management and was also rude. Put me in room next to washer and dryer were doing laundry until midnight. Horrible experience.

Attractive large room with balcony. Nice outdoor pool. Convienent location to visit Hollywood and to access line B of LA metro. There was a kettle and coffee making facilities but supplies were sparse. Needed to remind to undertake housekeeping. Bed large but not particularly comfortable and pillows were poor. On busy days pool towels not replenished. Large TV in room but it wasn't a smart TV so couldn't access streaming. Nice rooftop bar with good cocktails.

Put me in a room underneath the kitchen. Horrific noise, banging, etc. When I complained about noise they said it was just cleaners, should be gone by 7p. Complained again at 8, 9, 10, and finally at 11p they admitted I was under the kitchen and noise like this was a persistent problem. I then left to another hotel.

Rooftop bar is cool and the location is the selling point if you are looking to stay in this area but I would think there are better options. Most of the staff do there very best to be friendly a welcoming except on or two odd balls at the reception. The pictures of this place are not an accurate representation of what it look like inside. Like downtown LA its worn and well past its prime without and money put into it refurbish it. That someone can't take the time to clean or replace many of the dirty windows facing the exterior of the building is reflection of this. The inside pool area has become something to look at only, same vide as overall place lost its attractions decades ago.

I arrived at 3 pm (check-in time) and my room wasn't ready. I waited until 4 pm and it still wasn't ready. I had things to do, so I couldn't wait any longer, but I needed to shower. They told me to use the pool bathroom, which has a room to get ready in. It was awful, but I managed to get ready for what I had to do, with people going in twice. I couldn't charge my phone and had to leave my luggage with them at reception. I complained to Expedia, they called the hotel, but the hotel didn't answer and I couldn't resolve anything. I arrived at the hotel again at 11 pm and that's when I got my room, but the key didn't work and I had to go all the way down again for them to do it again, and finally I got to the room. The room is quite nice and the bathroom is very pretty, it was very clean, and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. But I will never stay at this hotel again, not even for free. This is the first time I've written a bad review for a hotel. They are very irresponsible.

This property definitely lives up to its 5 star reputation, though with a few issues. The staff, layout, decor, and amenities were first rate. I stayed in one of the pool suites, which had a beautiful balcony! And the views from the rooftop and proximity to iconic Capitol Records building are fantastic. On the negative side, other reviewers have commented on the noise levels. I found the ambient noise actually to be quite low, though there is almost constant noise from the outside, whether it’s conversations at the pool several floors below you can hear clearly, the nightclub next door, or the endless things going on from Hollywood Boulevard. One other personal gripe was the valet parking fee. I had a guest visit for a less than 2 hour dinner on a quiet Monday night and the charge was $44. Completely absurd!!!! I know LA parking rates are high, but this a shocker!

The grounds and room were very clean. However, the room was extremely noisy and almost impossible to sleep in. I didn’t think to mention it to staff, assuming the noise would lessen as the night went on. But, it continued and only got worse throughout the night and morning. At check out, I was informed the 4th floor was directly under the kitchen which was upsetting- especially since I paid for a room upgrade. Overall, wonderful staff. But the price does not justify the lack of comfort.

The room was spacious, gorgeously furnished, super clean, and comfortable. I understand other reviews about a slightly musty smell in the hallways, but it was gone by morning (maybe a humidity issue?). Staff is very friendly, and the rooftop bar is excellent. I appreciated the attention to detail in providing earplugs, as street noise can get a bit loud at night.

Very clean and the rooms are spacious. Very comfortable room. In the middle of the night we heard someone trying to open our door so we checked who it was and there was no one? Not sure if this place is haunted? But at night we kept hearing someone in the hallway but there was no one there.

Staff at check-in was overly forward, preemptively trying to upsell us on a room because we would have noise issues and making fun of a guest's name. Our shower was backed up when we checked in. I called to have it fixed, and I think they sent someone but it was not fixed by the time we checked out. We had to take short showers in a couple inches of water. No accommodations for this gross issue; just a "sorry that happened" while we checked out. There was noise from the venue next door but I saw that in the reviews when booking. If that bothers you book a courtyard room.

My wife and I had a short staycation for our anniversary. Let’s just say we loved the vibe of this place. Great design, very clean, great pool, fun rooftop lounge and restaurant, the list goes on. We stayed in a poolside king suite. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and just as stylish and thoughtfully designed as the rest of the hotel. The balcony overlooks the pool. Loved our stay. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family coming in from out of town.

Pros: Good location- I felt like I was able to get to every place I needed easily, whether it was around the city or getting on the highway and driving further outside of LA Friendly Staff- Every staff member I interacted with was pleasant. They always welcomed us back with a smile after being out for the day. Clean Room- Room and bathroom were clean. Amenities- Though our schedules didn’t allow us to take advantage of the hotel amenities, I appreciate how many there were. Cons: Staff communication- Simple information like WiFi or how to access housekeeping and front desk was not communicated (not on phone). Staff responsiveness- I asked for extra towels and never got them. I had to remind the front desk. I ended up getting them the next day. Linens- Multiple towels were frayed or ripping at the edges Smell- Room had a slightly old musty smell

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, the service was excellent. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Michael helped us with our luggage and he gave us a tour on the way up to our room as well as so much great info. on dining and the amenities available. It’s an older property that was recently renovate and very nicely done. The fixtures and details have so much character & charm yet all the top notch amenities a 5-star hotel is expected to have. The room is HUGE…620 sq. ft. with separate sitting & dining areas, a very spacious bathroom, and the most comfortable king size bed. They upgraded our room to a poolside unit which was very much appreciated. There’s also a balcony with a seating area accessible from the room. We will definitely be coming back to The Aster on our next stay in the L.A. area.

The staff was top notch, friendly, professional and made us feel welcomed each time we encountered them. We loved the surrounding area just steps away from the hotel. One can find anything and everything you want from upscale restaurants, bustling clubs, to retail of all prices ranges. So much to do, yet you could relax and enjoy the serene quiet posh pool and feel as though you were in a private luxury getaway from the world. Everything about the Aster was outstanding. The location is ok depending on what you want to do. If you are going to events or attractions in Hollywood, it’s great. It’s not too far from downtown but it is a drive and you will hit some traffic. Parking rate was high but we didn’t park a car. Getting an uber from here was easy and so was walking to restaurants. The hotel restaurant and bar was lovely. The local bars in walking distance were young, so we had to venture further for something more aged appropriate. I would stay here again if it wasn’t for the location.

What a find!! The Aster is pure class from the moment you walk in. Its calming decor and soft scents make for a truly relaxing oasis in the madness of Hollywood. About a 15 minute walk away from TCL Chinese theatre you’re away from the real hustle and bustle but still in easy proximity. I was here for work and it was so conveniently located for travelling out to Burbank, over to West Hollywood and downtown as well as being close to all major studios based in Hollywood. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The room was beautiful and surprisingly spacious. The restaurant on the roof was full of great flavours and a wonderful ambience. There was some redecorating while I was here and it’s looking amazing. I will definitely be looking to come back on my next trip to LA.

We stayed here for our anniversary and the staff helped make it a great experience with the upgraded room. The hotel is gorgeous with plenty to do in the area. Unfortunately this is where my praise ends as we were given a slip under the door that there would be fire alarm testing in the morning. Not a big deal we originally thought but from 9am till about 10:45 (when we left) it was a nonstop thing. Off and on, off and on it literally forced us to leave early because we physically couldn’t handle the sound anymore, and they shut the power off in our room until 10:30am so it just overall soured our experience. I would love to return without the fire alarms and power turn off to make up our anniversary morning.

Also on one day of my 3 day stay my room wasn’t serviced. Add to that how hard it was to get someone to answer the phone for room service. One morning it took 20minutes to get an answer so I could order breakfast. The room was clean and spacious but not much use of filled with pounding music.

Chose this Hotel due to its proximation to the Pantageous which is just around the corner. However, Suite #414 was apparently next to a club that had a DJ until 5:45 in the am. The balcony, which I had been excited to have, had a view of a partial wall and a roof top that looked like it had suffered the apocalypse. See photos. I felt the 4 star Hotel status was a bit lacking. No robes in the room (they apparently forgot them) poor quality toilet paper, ear plugs on the tables,(obviously for the noise but they didn't work). NO door on the toilet room, no shower caps and the towels were too big to wrap around your hair. The shower had a rain shower so you couldn't help but get your hair wet. Other than all that, the hotel had lovely décor, the staff was kind and the restaurant on the roof top, sublime!

I loved the style and spaciousness of the hotel and my room with a balcony. I was only in town a couple of nights for a concert but was extremely comfortable which was nice after being tired and needing a good nights sleep. They were very accommodating for adding an extra day since I had a red eye flight and it was nice to be able to just relax until time for my cross country flight

I am trying to reach the customer service of the hotel property but it is hard to reach them, not a lot of staff are available especially in the restaurant only one person,if you are trying to reach them you can’t contact them it’s terrible customer service, especially your Agent booking system of Expedia is very bad customer service, they can’t help me to resolve my problem, the issue was such as when you need their assistance, they will put you in transferring to a different person who doesn’t even know how to comfort you,I booked a flight and a hotel to Expedia, I just paid an insurance for both flights and Stay, I just thought that they will help you when something is happened with your flight such as My situation was that I had missed my Flight a minute ago and this Airline that I booked is Frontier Airlines who has a bad customer service too, I was already there asking for help but instead of helping me is telling me something that I really don’t know how to do it, it’s because I’m explaining to them that it’s our first time to do this flight going to LA.coming from San Francisco coz’ normally we’re always driving going to LA.so we really don’t know how to check in or Sign in from the Apps in our phone, instead of helping us he just staring at us, it’s so weird, it’s ridiculous how an agent is helpless to a customer, I just got ripped off by your Company Expedia I paid $379.17 for one night and when I get to the hotel they charged me again for $200 it was a bad experienc

The hotel were amazing, very accommodating to our early arrival; gave us access to amenities and allowed us to relax after an overnight flight. They had our room ready early and it was a beautiful room- very spacious. Lots of options for eating/drinking in the hotel and all the staff are so friendly in each location. They topped off the end of our honeymoon, couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks all!

The Aster is an absolutely gorgeous urban oasis in the heart of Hollywood. The design team that created and curated the spaces are stellar and have infused the environment with a beautiful and serene unparalleled charm. I have stayed at hotels all over the world and The Aster is now my fave. With its adults only pool and many amenities included; Pilates studio, enormous weight room, gym studio. private lounges and access to members only events in their charming and private movie theatre, cabaret etc-makes it an exceptional deal. The stunning rooftop restaurant and bar along with all the uber friendly staff made this an unforgettable stay for my cousin and I, while we attended the Pulp concert at the nearby Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Thank you to the team at The Aster, you are all stars!

Please be aware that this property is next door to a night club, which makes it super noisy on a Saturday night. I could hear the loud noise even with ear plugs. I informed the staff about this when they asked me about my stay. But I didn’t feel that they really cared.

The Valet staff was excellent, and took great care of us as soon as we pulled in. Made sure the Tesla was charged up, and very quick to bring in our luggage. Dinner that night at the rooftop restaurant was outstanding! Service was great too. Unfortunately, the following evening, when we returned to our room after A full day of adventuring in LA, our room was not cleaned. The room service breakfast dishes were still there, in spite of the fact that we left a "service please" hanger on our door. Had to call the front desk, who informed us the cleaning crew left at 3 o'clock, and it was too bad. No offer of sending up new towels or clean wine glasses. No restock of the mini bar. Next morning we ordered room service breakfast, which is a rare treat for me, and I really look forward to it. I ordered avocado toast, and asked them To please add a fried egg on top. Breakfast arrived cold, and they forgot the avocado on the avocado toast! No cream for my husband's coffee, no spoon for my tea, no salt or pepper. Called the front desk, and eventually someone showed up with another soggy piece of toast smeared with cold avocado. For $100 I would've expected more. Even Denny's can handle a simple breakfast order. No spare roll of toilet paper, so we had to ration what was left. The good news is, hotel is centrally located to lots of fun things to go see and do. I'd give it another try some day.. hopefully it improves!

Spent the night before my birthday and the club music went on all night. We barely were able to sleep at all- totally ruined my birthday. Asked about the loud music and was told there were 3 bday parties in the 6th floor and that the hotel was a capacity with no rooms to move away from the music. They should not sell rooms knowing this situation is common!
