Reviews
The hotel is praised for its convenient location and friendly staff, but criticized for its small rooms, outdated facilities, and poor breakfast. Some guests also complain about parking difficulties and noise.

Property needs some TLC. Especially front office. But for the price the amenities were good, room was clean, front dest was very helpful, and nice places to eat and drink within a block.

Room was as clean as anyone could get it to be but it was definitely old and run down. The room smells like a public washroom. We were able to pin point that it came from the air conditioner in the room. Great location and price point. You have to compromise if you want it cheap.

The location is amazing! Near by the groove, erewhow, pharmacies, whole foods, traders joe. All of it are in a simple walk distance. It could be more modern, in furniture most.

Besides the hotel being in a great area, close to The Grove, Erewhon and its ultra fancy groceries, the out of this world Tesla Diner and other things, the hotel was some odor of damp. We asked to switch rooms because as soon you turn the air conditioner on, the smells becomes stronger… but had the same problem on the new room. The continental breakfast was good and we really enjoyed. You should try the strawberry pancake. It was surprisingly good! The parking garage was a huge point of savings and safety. This hotel is a little diamond in the rough. If it’s parent company drops some money in it, this would be outstanding.

Did not eat breakfast, room clean, a/c working

Facility dated. Coffee weak. Hard boiled eggs-store bought. Fruit old. Staff sleeping at front desk. Bathroom door water damaged on bottom. Not repaired or replaced. Sink had a giant crack in it. Looks like it happened long ago. A/C had like one temperature
- 5/5
Good value for money, close to a lot of different shops. Great and affordable place
- 3/5
Staff is friendly and helpful. location is convenient for doing tours around Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The hotel itself is so so. The bigger rooms (2-bed ones) are facing the noisy traffic. Smaller one-bed room facing the inner garden is better. The amenities are old. Fan in the bathroom and the fridge are loud. Smell in the bathroom won’t go away. Breakfast is very basic.

We chose not to eat the breakfast only because we had to leave. The room stayed cool, bed we actually pretty comfortable. Cleean room and felt safe. The parking was tricky

This property is one of the best deals for mid-city and never disappoints. It is no frills, but it is very comfortable, clean, and the staff are wonderful. It is my go to spot when I travel to LA!

I had an amazing stay here. Gina, Joy and Essenia were amazing, very caring and helpful. The room had everything I needed and in terms of comfort it exceeded my expectations. It is walking distance of stores, supermarket and restaurants. The grocery/products store at the reception was very helpful. I only gave 4 starts on amenities because it would be amazing to have a washer and dryer at the property for the days I've stayed there. I will be back next time and recommend it.

1). Person across the hall from us blared his/her television all night long. Woke me up at 4:00 AM. Finally at 6:00 AM we had to call the front office and have the staff pound on their door to get them to turn off the television. 2) Floor above our room creaked whenever somebody walked on it. Woke us up in the morning. Their shower made a lot of noise. It seemed like it was in our room. Walls are paper thin. 3) Whatever you do don’t park in the basement. It is a steep single car lane into the basement. Nearly impossible to make the 90 degree turn to get out. I was an inch from scratching the side of my car trying to get out. My wife had to get out to help me navigate the turn. Wall at base of steep one car lane out had lots of scars from people who weren’t so lucky. There was parking behind hotel. 4) The sink area didn’t have a light. We found this strange. I had to take my contacts out on the bed that had light. 5) Bed was like a rock. Hope you like an extra, extra firm bed. 6) Breakfast was decent. Waffles, cereal, bagels, muffins, cocoa, coffee, boiled eggs, and yogurt. 7) All the buildings around the hotel had bars on them. 8) We asked the receptionist where to eat and she told us of a restaurant down the street that looked aweful. She didn’t tell us that the Beverly Hills Grove was just 3 blocks away. We found out about it by asking a stranger. Hundreds of restaurants and a huge farmers market. Would not stay there again.

The staff was all friendly. Breakfast was good for us as we don’t have big breakfast. Didn’t like eating from paper bowls. Beds a little hard.
- 3/5
The breakfast was disappointing with a very limited selection.
- 3/5
The room had a bad odor, and smelled like bleach was used to cover it up. Toilet kept running, which just needed a little tap on the latch inside each time. Super thin walls, and a large gap between the bottom of my room's door and floor meant I was hearing everything happening in the hallway through the night.

Check in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff was super friendly. I was able to get into my room a little early, which was nice. The room was smallish, but comfortable. The free underground parking was nice, though it is a little tight getting down and up the ramp. Small to medium cars are ok, but big SUVs or trucks could have a problem. Some restaurants and convenience stores are all in walking distance if needed. I had to checkout before the breakfast was available, so can't comment on that. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially considering its location and price!

The shower had no soap dish. Being tall, I thought I could use the top of the bathroom door, to rest my soap and razor as the door opened directly parallel to the shower. Bad move, the top of the door was just filthy with dust. The amount of water which came from the shower head was inadequate to say the least. Each day the bathroom floor was wet as the drain on the sink leaked and within 2 minutes of starting the shower the shower began to flood.(slow drain) The location of the hotel was great for going to the Peterson Museum, but that seemed like a small positive when having so many negatives. Side note; They do have a parking garage Very, Very Small and almost impossible to exit due to the narrow width of the exit ramp.

It was difficult to sleep when the walls dont seem insulated. Noise coming from the street and upstairs floor. Definitely not ideal. The room was smaller than what we were expecting and the corridors , rooms and lobby had the walls patched. I dont think they care about maintenance other than doing the bare minimum.

The parking lot is such that is is impossible to make a sharp turn into the driveway ramp without scratching one's car. Also, when I arrived at 2:30, there was no one in the office, which claims it;s open 24 hours.

The hotel is in a good area, there are options to have food on the same street. Even thought the hotel looks a little bit old, the room was clean and tidy. It has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was very good for use. It is a continental breaksfast but you have options to choose whatever you fancy. It also has parking, but you can’t book a space in advance for your car and there aren’t spaces for all guests.

Parking was horrible. There’s only 3 parking spaces behind the hotel and a small lot under the hotel that is incredibly difficult to get in and out of. If these few spot are full you have to find parking in the crowded neighborhood. I had to park almost half a mile away and walk to the hotel in the middle of the night. Probably won’t stay here again due to that issue.

The hotel was basic, comfortable and clean. Check-in was smooth. All staff were very nice. Rooms are not very soundproof, so every time people walk down the passage, talking, you are part of the conversation. Very good wifi, nice little courtyard for the usually adequate breakfast, walking distance to Beverly Grove, Farmers Market, supermarkets, bus route. Not in the best part of Beverly Blvd, but it was the convenience of the location that mattered most to us. What could have been better? Don't run out of breakfast foods.

Good for a 2-star hotel. Not the cleanest, but they do offer to freshen up your room every day. Breakfast is good if you can get to it. The breakfast room is very small and usually full of people. Location is decent as its near several bus stops and the original farmer's market. Centrally located in LA and in a generally safe area. Good value for what we needed it for (a place to sleep and have breakfast).

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the roo..was extremely small. There was o ly enough room for the queen sixed bed amd just enough space to walk around it. There was no room for even a chair. Just a bed. We found a live roach in the bathroom. Parking was underground with only enough space for 10 cars, so some custo.ers had to park somewherenout on the street. The AC init was quite noisy. Fortunately, we didnt spend much time n in the room. There was a pleasant patio for sitting and eati g, or justbto read a book. The hotel is conveniently close to the Movie Museum, Farmers Market, and the LaBrea tarpits. There wereany good restaurants also wothin walking distance.

The hotel reminded of a European style hotel. It was small, comfortable with few frills but above average in quality for the price that we paid. The continental breakfast, though limited, had a good selection that included breakfast burritos, hard boiled eggs, waffles and fresh fruit. The room was small, but had everything that we needed, specifically a refrigerator and microwave. When compared to other affordable hotels in the area, SureStay gets high marks for its overall quality and great location, close to the Farmers Market, the Grove and several excellent restaurants. I should add that they have an elevator, which was a big plus for my wife.

We appreciated the free parking, which made our stay very convenient. However, the room was a bit small for the price, and we noticed some flies and fruit flies. Additionally, some of the staff could be more friendly. The property also does not have a pool, which we had hoped to enjoy. There are several areas that could be improved for a more pleasant experience.

The pictures are catfishing. The decore is the same as in the photos, but the actual hotel quality looks completely different than the photos. The door had a gap in it and didn’t close all the way so I could hear all the outside noises. All we did was check in and get ready then we left for the night, once we came back there were roaches in the bathroom, in tote bag and near the nightstand. We checked out immediately, had only been checked in from 4pm-1am and still had to pay for 1 full night. They placed a hold on both my debit card that I swiped for payment at check-in hotel and my credit card which I held the reservation for at the time of booking.

Booking #704889130 | Itinerary: 73137103274861 Dear Expedia Support, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding my stay in Los Angeles (June 12–15, 2025) due to multiple severe safety and service failures. 1. My child was injured in the hotel room – on June 13, while lying on the bed, my son sustained a bleeding facial injury due to dangerous furniture (bed structure or sharp edges). The bedsheets were stained with blood. I have attached photos. 2. On June 14, when we returned late at night, we were locked out of our room. There was no staff on-site, and only a handwritten note said “Front desk on break until further notice.” We waited outside for 3–4 hours with a child, unable to access our room. 3. The property was completely insecure – the exterior doors were left open to anyone, and there was no security or staff to control access. Anyone could enter from the street. This created a serious safety risk, especially at night. I tried to contact Expedia via chat multiple times, but your agents either ignored the issue or disconnected the conversation without resolution. I am requesting a FULL refund of $816.91 and a formal investigation into this property. It was unsafe, unmanaged, and dangerous for families. Please respond urgently. — Guest Name: Sibel Kurtoglu Confirmation Number: 704889130 Itinerary Number: 73137103274861 Check-in: June 12, 2025 Check-out: June 15,

Also, the toilet flush was not completely working . We had to hold the lever a couple of mins before the water could go down. This was defimitely not a pleasant stay.

After the first night I tried to cancel the reservation, but the hotel would not refund my payment. Highly disappointing. Extremely unclean. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in a room that fronted on Beverly Blvd. Very noisy all night! The room needs two double pane windows to sound proof the room.

Had issues with my room when checking in. The front desk receptionist was not kind or friendly. Our had knats that they did nothing about. Sink was broken so the hot and cold were only working sometimes. Breakfast was very limited and not much of a variety to choose from.

The hotel was great. I really want to give a ton of credit to the person up front (Bridgette Joy) she was great, She helped us with some problems with some of reservations from the app & she was overall very kind. The place was pretty nice.

Overall - for a budget accomodation. It does the job. Unfortunately. We ended up checking out early as it was not for us. When I first checked in - staff was super friendly which is amazing! Big tick. However that was about all I can give positives for. Our room was tidy however the fridge rattled all night. The people above us sounded like a heard of elephants running rampant until 4am. The shower ceiling looked to almost be falling down and the carpark was super tight - if I didn’t have someone guiding me I would not have been able to get out without damaging the rental car.

Great for a last minute booking. Smell from the swamp cooler was bad though, moldy. Awesome free breakfast items. Clean beds. Some lights in the room were not working though.

This seemed at first like a just decent, although pretty basic, hotel to stay at while I was in LA for a show. But the staff here were absolutely amazing! Incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond. I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to give them a boost for the staff alone. Bridget in particular and the lady at the desk the night I arrived were really wonderful.

Very basic as expected. Location I needed. Price good. Just a place to sleep. Nice, knowledgeable woman at check in at 11 pm! Comfortable bed. Quiet. But noisy bathroom fan, broken light fixture and slightly musty smelling.

The facilities overall are old, so you're going to see stained ceilings, peeling paint, walls that need a good wash or paint job. The parking is definitely a tight squeeze - large vehicles or low vehicles proceed with caution, but once you're in it's convenient enough. All in all, It wouldn't be my first choice for the price, just depends on what's comfortable for you.

This was a good stay especially with the areas we wanted to visit in LA. My only issue was the parking. There is a small, tight parking area under the hotel. This was not easy to maneuver for my Nissan Armada. There are a few spots in a small lot down the alley for the hotel too.

Great value, comfortable beds, quiet
- 2/5
Noisy fridge, noisy bathroom fan, creaky ceiling so you could hear the neighbors upstairs, overly perfumed room
- 5/5
Room was great, and excellent location. Parking limited but free!. Save hundreds! Staff were great too, thanks for all, the Grove shops and Farmers Market is just 5 minute walking, no need pay parking to go there. Franklin, stayed 4 days (23-27-2024).
- 2/5
Room was extremely small and so was the bathroom. There was no chair to sit on. Had to sit on the bed in order to get dressed probably one of the smallest rooms I’ve ever stayed in
- 4/5
Clean and basic. The bed wsd comfortable, my only complaint is that the room lighting was harsh white LEDs that hurt my eyes.
- 4/5
Very close to the places I needed to be. The room is very small and dated but clean. Breakfast was okay.
- 5/5
1) Comfortable and cozy room, 2) Very good mattress 3) Good temperature control but noisy fan 4) standard bath with terrible toilet paper, 5) Tasty self-serve breakfast, hot waffles 6) Friendly, helpful staff 5*
- 3/5
The staff were very friendly. You had to ask to have your room made up each day, but staff were very good and the room was very clean, beds were made and new towels every time we asked. The air conditioner was noisy and the beds were hard. The driveway was incredibly tight and there was plenty of evidence of wall scraping, you need to have a small narrow vehicle or be a very confident driver. Walking distance to the nearby Los Angeles Farmers Markets and the Grove shopping centre.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location near the grove which is what we wanted. Quick and easy checkin. They even had waffles, bagels and fruit for breakfast. Nice little courtyard.
- 5/5
We easily walked over to Fairfax and had dinner at Canter‘s deli. We were also able to walk to the Grove and enjoy the shopping and of course some ice cream. The hotel is very clean. It is dated, and could use a little elbow grease, but for the price, we absolutely will stay there again. Parking is limited, but we did not have any difficulty finding a spot. If you’re looking for safe, clean, and comfortable – this is your place.
- 5/5
Big thanks to Bridgette Joy, Ms. Joana and Ms. Christy, did an excellent job of helping us out for our stay. Very professional, kind, and friendly service. The location is also ideal for exploring The Grove, Farmers Market and the surrounding West Hollywood areas. Very satisfied.

Room was tiny but clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Window opened to street level so for security reasons you could not leave it open. Breakfast was minimal.
- 5/5
Comfortable bed. Room is a little small. A stand to put a suitcase on would help. Staff is very helpful.

Bridget Joy was the best, she is super friendly and helped us get a room that was a great fit for my husband. Breakfast was good and rooms were clean.
- 2/5
Was shocked compared to the photos, so small and looked nothing like what pictures represent! The bathroom was so small , literally barely big enough to turn around in. Breakfast offered was a joke, beds were so uncomfortable. Paid $$$ for a $50 worth of room.
- 5/5
Breakfast could be a little better. Maybe fresh bagels and cream cheese.

Made a reservation for a room with 2 beds. Got a call the morning of the reservation saying that my room was not available and that they could give me a room with 1 bed for only a partial refund of 20 dollars. For four people in my group, that was not enough room to sleep so I requested a larger refund or other accommodation but they were reluctant to offer much for our group. Overall, would not recommend this hotel as they were unreliable and unwilling to accommodate for their wrongdoings.

This hotel is in a good location, was fairly clean and offers a free breakfast. However after the first night of a 3 night stay we decided to check out. After arriving at about 9pm we just wanted to get some sleep. We were checked into room 108. This is by far the worst room in the property. Cars park right up to the window giving you little privacy, it's right next to a guest common area where people were smoking and we could smell it coming in to the room, and most annoyingly it was next to the side entrance of the hotel with a spring loaded gate that would slam every time someone came in. After about an hour and a half we asked if we could be moved to another room and were told there were no other ones available unless we wanted to pay to upgrade (albeit to the same room type so I don't see how that would be an upgrade). Being late we decided to wait until morning and found ourselves another hotel. If you are a heavy sleeper and don't mind the smell of smoke wafting into your room then this place is fine for you. Otherwise I'd suggest staying somewhere else.
- 5/5
This hotel was close to my next days appointment and we were able to walk to dinner and breakfast and back.
- 3/5
Room was quite small. Great if you just need a quick crash for the night. Breakfast that was included was not well advertised. Minimal pastries to choose from and coffee. Kinda was made to sound like there was more.
- 3/5
I loved the location. I didn’t like the room as much. The room was small and had a weird smell to it. There was no blackout curtains. When we went down to breakfast I saw an employee refill the orange juice. Half was water and the other half was orange juice. It was not an orange juice concentrate.
- 3/5
Bridgette was very sweet and was willing to assist me with my carry on luggage while I push my mom’s wheelchair. She asked Anthony to assist us because she’s the desk person on duty. I guess Anthony thought, I didn’t speak and understand English. He told Bridgette that she is so nice. I asked my mom to hold the luggage while it glides next to the wheelchair while I maneuver it down the long ramp. We were at the base of the ramp when Bridgette came out surprised to see us down on the flat ground.

Great stay. I always recommend this hotel to anyone visiting LA.
- 2/5
Don’t book your rooms at this hotel based on the pictures or images that they portray. It looks nothing like that in person the place is a wreck and falling apart. They’re so-called complementary breakfast is inedible and they’re serving old expired food. Was unable the parking garage is a horror! Nothing like I expected a big disappointment.
- 5/5
This hotel is in a great location for seeing Hollywood and Beverly Hills. They offer a nice hot breakfast and had comfortable rooms. I will come again.
- 1/5
When we finally go into the room there was supposed to be 2 Queen beds but they were double beds very small! We tried to take a shower in the morning and NO HOT WATER. So we went to the breakfast and it was terrible prepackaged burritos that were awful at best. This Hotel said Best Western it did have any of Best Western qualities. I give it a 1!
- 5/5
Everything was awesome I plenty of parking out back… great breakfast coffee bagels tang and breakfast burritos… make your own Belgian waffle machine… boiled eggs oatmeal…. room is comfortable location is amazing. The staff was great. I really enjoyed the people that checked us in and the people that checked us out we stayed for 18 days. We love the place. We never park downstairs. I would say don’t park downstairs.

I understand how expensive hotels can be in Los Angeles. I chose this hotel because of the price and the location. My number one concern was that the exterior doors were not locked or key pass protected. I felt like the property was way too open and there were some shady characters around the hotel. The parking is extremely limited and narrow spaces. It took me 25 minutes to get my car out of the garage. The rooms are fair at best. I stayed two nights because I'd already paid for it but at the price point in which I paid I feel like it should have been a better accommodation.
- 3/5
Trash in the room from previous guest, facility can use a update and breakfast area needs at least two waffle machines due to long wait to use only one for entire hotel.
- 5/5
Always a great stay. Thank you!!!!

Awful experience with room smelling of URINE and super small room that didnt match photos. NOT worth the price at all! One of the worse places to stay.

The people at surestay Beverly Hills really helped us & went the extra mile through out the stay. Love this hotel.

Extremely noisy and trash remained in the hallway all night and was still there upon our departure at 9am.

- 5/5
A good place to stay just to sleep while roaming around LA… Affordable, Friendly Staff (especially the lady who checked us in-forgot her name), Convenient Parking and Clean… I truly recommend this place…😉
- 5/5
This hotel is really small and fantastically well run. Conveniently located right across the street from the CBS studios. Great parking. I will definitely be back next time I'm in LA.
- 4/5
We were looking for a hotel near West Hollywood and found on Hotels.com SureStay by Best Western. Not much to look at from the outside and the room was nothing to brag about, ambiance-wise. But the room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfy. Perfect. That’s all we wanted.
