A great place to stay with the family! The staff were amazing, close to Hollywood walk of fame and the free snacks, drinks and popsicle hotline were the kids favourite part!

Excellent family hotel. The amenities are truly awesome with free snacks, ice cream, soft drinks and more. It is a great overall place to stay and so close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and other great local attractions. The rooms are large and comfortable, though slightly dated and some things that could use maintenance (like broken door knobs). I would recommend especially for families with younger kids.

Staff went above and beyond. Amenities were great. Room we stayed in could use some serious TLC.

Great Full Mini bar in the full size fridge. 24 hour Popsicle Hotline(actual red phone by the relaxing pool). Most importantly, a short distance to the Hollywood Bowl. If you are laid back and enjoy people and new experiences, this is a must. If you’re high maintenance, in between partners because they just don’t get you…and just want to be alone on the 11th floor-keep looking.

The staff was tremendously helpful and friendly. This place is fine for an adult stay, but it's a home run for families. They have an emergency popsicle "red phone" at the pool. I saw a little girl make the call and a minute later a man with white gloves and a silver tray delivered her a cherry popsicle. I mean, come on!!!

The manager was amazing and went above and beyond for us. Best service we ever had.

24 hour heated pool and complimentary laundry facilities with a room that is really an apartment steps from the Dolby Theater mall and (the nice part of) the Hollywood walk of fame. We feel lucky to have found this gem. If nobody mentioned it you can also have free poolside popsicles brought to you. So much fun.

This place was sweet cute and cozy! Our room was very roomy. A visiting magician performed for us in the main area and it was awesome! It was nice being close to landmarks in Hollywood.

It is the Staff in this hotel, and all of the little extras that make it. So amazing. It is not the fanciest hotel, but you are welcomed with lots of love and little goodies.

People have to go ? Can not explain, exceeds expectations. Dated but worth it!

This is a fabulous hotel with an old school charm. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We loved the location, great to explore Hollywood and an easy 10 minute Uber ride to Universal Studios. The kids loved the free ice cream, snacks and soda and swimming in the pool after a day exploring. If you go expecting 5* accommodation then you will be disappointed. Although the service is certainly 5* plus, parts of the hotel are showing their age but it was generally clean and it wouldn't put me off recommending this hotel as a great place to stay.

I booked this room last minute and from the moment i walked in staff was very welcoming and friendly. This property went straight to my favorite in the list.

My family had a great time! Kevin was amazing and really made our stay one of a kind. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip.

Our room was a little rundown, but large and spacious. The beds were so comfortable with lots of pillow options that gave me a close to my own bed experience. The hotel was quiet, which also added to restful nights of sleep. This hotel did very special unique things that I’ve never seen at other hotels. There was a very large list of snacks that could be provided at any time. An ice cream soft serve machine, soda, machine, espresso machine. Continental breakfast. The location was ideal with a very close walk to the Hollywood walk of fame , activities, and many restaurants. Safety is a big issue for me personally and they did an exceptional job with key card entrance and gated parking garage. The locked refrigerator was stocked with alcohol that was priced at a reasonable rate. They even had recipe cards to make special cocktails. Overall, I feel like we had an exceptional experience.

Great place to stay. Staff was excellent - very friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any need. Kids loved the free drinks, sodas etc. Pool heated and open late. Rooms very spacious. Prime location to visit the castle and other nearby buildings attractions.

Great location, close to the Metro, Hollywood sights. The hotel is unique & a really warm & friendly place to stay. Staff provide a wonderful welcome & great service. Manager Kevin was really helpful on arrival, & raced up the steps carrying both our very heavy bags! Our one bedroom apartment was really spacious, comfortable & the kitchen was great. Loved the balcony overlooking the pool, the excellent free breakfast & the self-serve ice cream machine! There's also free laundry & secure parking. Loved the place & will definitely return. Takes a bit of figuring out to get the shower working but everything was great!

This property is stuffed into the hillside above Franklin Ave. which was challenging if you are driving at peak Traffic times and trying to turn into the steep uphill entrance but I made It.While there is parking available it does not accommodate high profile vehicles but staff quickly found alternate parking in the front.The guest services person was very welcoming and efficient in my check in. The building itself is quite dated which I don’t mind .The pool area dominates the property with most rooms facing it.My biggest surprise came when entering my room, it was huge. A kitchen , dining room, huge living room, luggage and dressing area , big bathroom with huge tub and a bedroom with two bed and two huge closets. I was blown away and sad I only had one nite to hang out and see what other surprises this property might hold. After all it is the Magic castle Hotel. lol This hotel is not for everyone , not LA sleek and beautiful but if I were going spend some in LA a definite contender.

The staff were absolute superstars. The complementary Breakfast, Drinks, Snacks, ice cream,roaming magician and free laundry services were phenomenal. Watching the excitement of the kids in the 24hr heated pool order popsicles on the phone was so fun to watch. The location was excellent and we were lucky enough to dine at the magic castle and experience the incredible talent, shows and food. This property itself isn’t the fanciest hotel I’ve stayed in but the bed was super comfortable ( I like it super soft ) and the facilities and staff definitely made it the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Although It didn’t bother us, the property doesn’t have an elevator so if you struggle with stairs it might be an idea to ask for a room on the bottom floor.

The complimentary services, especially the ones for the kids and the staff, especially Kevin were exceptional The one and only negative i could put was no elevator but because everything else was so great it just didn't matter!!! So we essentially have no negatives at all

Sleeping with the portable air con machines on (machines that are at least 30 years old) was impossible. Obviously this is a very old motel but expectation is while the paint is peeling and the bedroom doors don’t shut - basic amenities like air con and a shower should absolutely be a given. While staff are very lovely the fact we were paying for bathrooms that really under any normal circumstances are in no way considered habitable. Only stay here if you are fully aware of the state of the bathrooms/aircon.

The service is second to none! So kind, helpful and polite really friendly people

This hotel was incredible. Some of the best customer service we have EVER experienced. Some of the top reasons; We were greeted with champagne and sparkling cider depending on age upon arrival They have a complimentary laundry service and your laundry comes back in a cute little paper package with dried lavender on top The popsicle hotline was our kiddos favorite along with the frozen yogurt Cartoons and movie night was a blast Kevin and Breanna at the front desk were incredible hosts who ensured every need was met!!!! Thank you Kevin and Breanna for going out of your way to ensure our family had anything we might need!!!! We loved the retro style of the hotel but some might not.

Location is wonderful especially if you will be going to the Magic Castle for the shows The staff were all 10+ in their service and personalities. There are a lot of stairs. If this is an issue make sure to mention it when booking.

The staff was amazing and rewarded us to a 5 star experience. I have not had this service at 3x the price. The extras (mini bar etc) were very reasonably priced.

Charming 1950s hotel just off Hollywood Boulevard. So it's very convenient and walkable to the main street. Warm and friendly staff and nice touches like complimentary snacks, soft serve, soft drinks, breakfast, laundry. And heated pool!

The actual room though is less than impressive. The floor is all uneven, the toilet leaks and the shower blocks every time you shower. We could hear every footstep of the people above us which was frustrating while trying to sleep. If you want amazing service with awesome treats stay here. But if you are wanting modern nice rooms this isn’t the place for you.

Fantastic staff who were so accommodating. Service, snacks and location were amazing. The rooms were clean but dated. Some dust on the floors but very reasonable and spacious, given the location.

Aside from the staff and the pool, this place is worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Please do not stay in room 203. The shower faucets leak like crazy and never get hot. The kitchen faucet was barely holding on. The balcony was so dirty I couldn't stay out there. Summary - not fun!

We’ve stayed at Magic Castle Inn a few times and always have a great experience! The staff is amazing — Darren and the front desk team were so kind, and the Kevin was fantastic. The rooms feel like one-bedroom apartments with full kitchens and comfy beds. They offer free snacks, drinks, and a complimentary breakfast, which is a big plus — especially for families. There are lots of perks for kids, too. And the location is perfect — close to all the top tourist attractions. Great service, great people, great place. We’ll definitely be back! N/A

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the area, it is very walkable and public transportation is easily available near by. Hotel is very close to the Hollywood Boulevard landmarks and a lovely big shopping mall, all less than a 5 minute walk. Rooms are basic (reminded us of student halls) but they are air conditioned and equipped with everything you will need for a short stay including a hair drier and iron. It’s not luxurious but for the price it’s clean and relatively comfortable. Definitely a fun place to base yourself for an LA trip.

Wonderful hotel in Hollywood. Close to the Stars and Chinese Theater. But the best part was feeling like we went back in time when we walked into the hotel. Beautiful place. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a fun one night stay, with kids going to universal or for couples going next door to the castle. Parking is tight, if you have a big suv or truck. You’ll have to park on the outside next to a hedge.

There were amenities and staff available 24/7. The rules were not given out up front. The hotel is not ADA compliant. I was ridiculed, humiliated, laughed at, not taken seriously, yet I performed real magic around the hotel and the castle property. I arrived late so I couldn't get to go inside the Magic Castle. It was for my birthday. I have wanted to apply to become a member for years, and I thought I finally had my chance. Oh, and I can't see as someone thought it would be funny to steal my glasses.

Stayed here multiple times. It is a great location for a couple nights in LA. Very family friendly and tons of perks like free candy, soda, popsicles and ice cream all day long! Staff is always helpful.

If you want to be in Hollywood the location is unbeatable. You can walk to all the famous sites. The property is old but charming. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. It's old and not very luxurious, but very charming. We enjoyed it very much.

The staff and some amenities were amazing. The apartment itself was not the best; it had very squeaky and damaged floating floors, old and damaged furniture. No elevators made carrying luggage up and down the very narrow staircases difficult. Many children were present, so if you want peace and quiet, you might want to consider somewhere else.

Amazing staff and a great family vibe without being juvenile. The property is the throwback to the mid-century, but it's in excellent condition and a haven from the busyness outside. They're generous with amenities and parking was simple. Loved it!

Layout of room and building was awesome. Excellent service (friendly and fun staff). Free snacks (which is very rare these days and puts the service in its own level). Best coffee of any hotel I have been in. It even had its own self-serve coke machine. I traveled a lot and there is no other hotel that can compare for the price.

The hotel itself is somewhat worn and old, but the beds were clean and comfy and the staff were absolutely amazing - very welcoming, kind, generous, helpful and accommodating to our needs. Each staff member we encountered was just wonderful and their attitude made up for the shortfalls in the physical property.

The mini bar was stocked for a good time (liquor/beer/pre-mixed cocktails) with reasonable prices! There were also several easy DoorDash-able restaurant suggestions provided at check-in. Parking is limited, so the garage can fill up. I’m not sure what the alternative parking arrangement could be. There were a couple of very narrow spots that could accommodate a Mini or Prius-sized vehicle, but not a regular sedan or SUV, FYI. The property felt secure, requiring key cards to enter the garage or lobby. The room had everything one needs for a comfortable stay, but it’s best suited for the sleep shower crowd. If you’re into hotel-style lounging, it’s probably not ideal. (Although, the robes and towels were soft and comfy.) The property is old, the rooms are small, and there isn’t a lot of natural light. The rooms and property are kept up just fine, but they show their age. If I ever need to stay in the Hollywood area again, I’ll definitely book here without hesitation.

I love the Guy receptionist qho welcomed us on our check-in at around 2130. Also, the guy who helped me fill up my water tumbler with a better water and ice. We loved our stay at Magic Castle Hotel. Highly recommended.

The staff was the best staff at any hotel ever. The amenities were great. The hotel is perfect for families. This hotel has got the right idea! Free snacks, drinks, breakfast and popsicles made this hotel special, but the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

This is a lovely spot to stay -- not for the luxury, it's rather seriously retro -- but for the atmosphere and the staff. Absolutely take advantage of the access to the Magic Castle for dinner or brunch on the weekends, which costs around $100 and includes access to the castle, grounds, and magic shows.

Wonderful place to stay and take in the sights of Hollywood.

The things I liked about the hotel were one of the front desk manager who did our check-in who was a pleasure to interact, was very co-operative, friendly and the reason why I didn't change my mind and go somewhere else after looking at the "hotel".

We had the best time with our 13 year old son traveling from Nashville to watch some NBA basketball and take in the sights. We loved the Magic Castle Hotel. So fun and unique. Thanks!

A fantastic hotel that is walking distance to the famous Hollywood strip. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The all-day snacks, the evening kids movie plus the magician made our family stay extremely pleasant.

Alex was incredible and was very attentive and helpful. He gave us a ride up the hill to the magic castle so we wouldn’t have to walk in our high heels. The atmosphere was fun and the popsicle phone and goodies are amazing. The room was big but dirty. I had a big black hair in my bed when I got in. The place is old and has signs of wear but all in all good time and perfect location.

Staff and service were 10/10, although the property in places was a little 'tired' and could do with modernization, the combination of free snacks, 24hr popsicle hotline and the excellent staff make magic Castle a must stay for families. We will most definitely be booking again for longer when next in LA

We stayed for 4 nights with our 2 teenagers. The suite was massive and kitchen and cooking facilities were convenient. Best of all was the great service, daily laundry, unlimited snacks, breakfast included and ice cream. The place is a little run down, but clean. It makes up for it with the extras and amazing service.

The Magic Castle Hotel is an awesome place to stay if you are visiting Universal Studios or the Hollywood area. Staff provide some of the most exceptional customer service I have ever experienced, the rooms were big and comfortable and the hotel provided a ton of great amenities. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and love every second of it as I did on this trip. A sincere thank you to all of the staff for making our family trip so much better!

We absolutely loved it here. It was a true respite while visiting LA. The kids agreed is the best place they've ever stayed. The complimentary items were a hit with all of us. And, the staff made the stay so pleasant. We may come back to LA just to stay and relax at the Magic Castle Hotel.

This property is unique in that its right next to the Magic Castle. It is an older property so if you are strictly 5 star hotel person it might not be a satisfying experience but for my trip up to see a band it worked great! Staff was friendly and nice and parking was convenient which can be a hassle in that area.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and made us feel welcome and important. The atmosphere at the hotel was really special and it felt like a little haven of friendliness and safety. I would stay at the hotel again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

My hotel room was the size of a nice apartment. The staff was really friendly and helpful and they were unique in their style and operations

Someone commented that the outside looks like a crack house. I can’t disagree. They really should do something to make the outside look more inviting. They make up for it though with their friendly service and freebies. Soft serve ice cream, popsicle hot line, candy, snacks and the continental breakfast. Room was big and clean. Just old. We would have stayed there again but they had really raised their price for the next time we were coming for a concert. The only bummer was that I realized shortly after we left that I had forgot my swim suit hanging on the shower rod. It never made it to the lost and found.

Another great thing about this hotel is the free snacks available 24 hours and ice cream available all day from 10.00am. The included continental breakfast was plentiful. Although my room did not have a balcony (I was only staying 2 nights) there were plenty of rooms that did. The swimming pool is open 24 hours and was being much enjoyed by children and adults. I would certainly use it again if I was staying in LA

Our stay at the Magic Castle was perfect. We were greeted with incredibly friendly staff and champagne upon arrival. They asked about our plans, which included a show at the Hollywood Bowl and they informed us that we could walk to it. Such a great tip as we were prepared to take the shuttle. It saved us so much hassle. The room was clean and spacious. Property is walkable to many restaurants, bars and sites. Would definitely recommend and stay again in the future!

Seriously... Yes the decor is tired and it needs a refurb and a paint-job, but it really doesn't matter as the customer service is second to none. The kids smiles widened hearing of all the complementary sweets, ice-cream, soft drinks, popsicles, 24 hour pool, pop-corn and movie nights. I was very happy with the sofa bed and free coffee. It's also in a perfect position in Hollywood for sightseeing. Thanks team. Best customer experience ever!

The staff make this place amazing. It’s a little run down and could do with a good clean, but I’d return for the staff and service, plus location. The kids would return for the popsicles and snacks!

This was one of our favourite hotels on the trip. Great location, great parking, great staff, great pool (that was actually open mid May and heated). Loved the movies and the snacks. The room was a great size. Its also right near the walk of fame, but you dont get any of the noise or business. The only negatives were the room smelt a little of gas when we came in. The floor wasnt in the best condition - in one place in the living room there was a nail head protruding from the floorboards which I stuck a plaster over so as it didnt injur the kids. Lastly, we had read that you get entry to the magic club if you stay there, so we brought dinner clothes especially and it turned out that only applies if you book direct and it also requires a booking months in advance. I wouldnt let any of this put you off though and I'd certainly stay again!
