Reviews
The hotel is praised for its prime location near Hollywood attractions and public transportation. Guests appreciate the clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, and complimentary breakfast. However, some guests find the hotel outdated, noisy, and lacking in breakfast variety.
- Prime location near Hollywood attractions and public transportation
- Clean and spacious rooms
- Outdated facilities and decor
- Noisy environment due to thin walls and shared hallways

Great location for walking to the Hollywood Bowl and Dobly Theater
- 4.5/5
The staff here was phenomenal. We had a concern and the staff went out of their way to make things better. Michael was the best! Super helpful, friendly and attentive. The lady that does the breakfast in the morning if fabulous as well. You walk in and get the feel of old school Hollywood. The location cant be beat for exploring Hollywood. Just steps from the Chinese Theater. Toy Story Premier was happening when we arrived and we were able to watch the Red Carpet arrivals. The beds were not the most comfortable and we did have an issue but the staff made up for it 100%

The parking area is a bit tight.
- 4/5
Clean, spacious room. Helpful staff. Exceptionally quiet for the location. HCH is a throwback to the glory days of old Hollywood. Not at all modern.
- 4/5
Staff were great. Good location. Good breakfast. No lift. Not normally a problem but my partner had put his back out and the staff helped him take it up one flight. Only two floors to the hotel so probably not an issue as staff will help.
- 4.5/5
very clean and spacious room, kitchen provided with stove, plates and utensils staffs are helpful daily room cleaning no elevator limited and no protein for breakfast

Relatively quiet. Some sound from walking in hotel room upstairs. Great location. Walkable to Hollywood Bowl & Hollywood Walk of Fame area. Parking area (extra charge) is very convenient and reasonable cost for area. In room fridge. Great value.

2 Star Hotel, but has a fair price for the very good location in Hollywood. It is rather simple, but has everything you need. Staff was friendly.
- 4/5
Incredible location, quirky and perfect place to explore. Loved being in a teeny old hotel next to some massive skyscrapers! I was really impressed with the size of the rooms. We booked a double double and thought it was one room but it was actually 2 rooms with a sliding door which was great. The staff were all great. Parking really isn't as tight as everyone made out in the reviews! It would be with a massive car I guess but medium size no problem. Its slightly dated but I think thats totally part of the charm. And all very clean

Location location location! 4 minute walk to the Hollywood boulevard. Area felt safe. Room was large and spacious. Wonderful continental breakfast cooked and served by Patricia! Kitchen facilities were handy and comfortable large beds.We also arrived early and were allowed to check in which was helpful after a 15 hour flight. Noise in side lane way to our room and on ground floor so people could see in your room if the blinds were open. Also got a bit noisy in the morning as our room was closest to the kitchen and reception area so people rolling their suitcases out and talking could be heard. The beds were also rather high off the ground but that's because we are a little short!
- 5/5
Michael was excellent and we had one of the best customer service experiences! He was attentive and extremely helpful in guiding us in the area! Will definitely stay again. The location is great! Walking distance to Hollywood Bowl, one street over from walk of fame/shopping, and safe area! Room was clean with comfortable beds!

Staff were so incredibly kind and helpful!! Central location and parking!

Older property, built in 1935 as apartments, converted to hotel in 1980s. Renovated 10-20 years ago. Outstandingly friendly staff! Breakfast offered, but very limited (mostly carbs). Good WiFi. Extremely convenient to the heart of Hollywood - Dolby Theater, Walk of Fame, Magic Castle, El Capitan, Roosevelt Hotel, etc. Easy rideshare access. Surprisingly quiet. No elevator, but staff is happy to assist with luggage (we're in our 70s). Not sure of the neighborhood, but it seemed to be mostly smaller apartment buildings

The location of the hotel is perfect — literally just a 5-minute walk to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the area, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was included, which was a nice bonus, although adding a little more variety such as fresh fruit would improve it. Overall, the hotel was very nice, just a bit outdated in some areas. For the price and location, though, you really can’t complain.
- 5/5
Older European style hotel. What it lacks in amenities, it’s makes up for in location and service. Employees are so kind and helpful. Great location for sights in Hollywood and Burbank. Parking available but tight spaces so rent a small car if possible. Easy to Uber to Universal or movie studios. Walking distance to Hollywood Bowl but challenging and uphill. All rooms have kitchenettes so buy a few groceries for lunches. Our favorite place to stay in Los Angeles
- 4/5
Nice, clean hotel located near Hollywood Blvd. Hotel and is a little old, but overall it was clean. Rooms were very big. There is a dining table, mini fridge and microwave. Would be nice if the bathroom had a vent and some outlets by the bed. There is free breakfast in the morning. Waffles, breads, and cereal. Overall, I would consider staying here again.
- 5/5
Staff at the property went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant. Michael at the front desk was awesome, he even walked my friend and I over to the ovation mall which is very close but it was nighttime and we are two senior women, he also told us to call him and he would walk us back. Patricia who runs the breakfast area was such a nice person, she's so pleasant. We took a 2 hour tour with Mr Ifty who was so great, pleasant, helpful and kind. I highly recommend Mr Ifty if you want a private tour, he also offers all day sightseeing at a very responsible price. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. Also to mention the hotel is a few minute walk to Ovation Mall, Dolby Theater, Walk Of Fame and more.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
We had an excellent stay here for a weekend! Location was incredible with only a few-minutes walk to the Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Chinese Theatre. Easily walkable to everything! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Patricia at breakfast was so kind and lovely! Rooms were outdated but we could appreciate the old-Hollywood style vibe. Rooms were clean, plenty of space for 4 adults, and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good and convenient. Would definitely stay here again!
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Loved the location and experience. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Excellent location. Walking distance to Dolby and lots of attractions. The only semi-con was their Parking lot was small and tight. They ran out of parking by the time we arrived but they directed us to park in the nearby parking structure Ovation. $25 which was ample and spacious. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
If you want to visit the Hollywood area, this is the ideal spot. It's a quick 2 minute walk to the center of Hollywood activity without feeling like you're staying in the midst of the chaos. I've been to many hotels and I've never found friendlier, more accommodating staff. If you're for looking for luxury and frills, this might not be for you; but if want clean, affordable convenience with great service, this is the place!
- 5/5
It was great, waffles were good!
- 4/5
This is a small, outdated hotel two blocks from Hollywood blvd. It has a decent continental breakfast with a dedicated staff member who toasts your bread and makes the waffles but it can become very congested because of this unnecessary system. Also, the rooms lack sufficient outlets for charging electronics, which is annoying. Overall, it’s not bad and the front desk staff are super friendly.
- 5/5
We were so happy at this hotel. Terrific location right behind the Ovation shopping mall. The hotel itself is old style Hollywood and whilst a bit old and worn, was incredibly quiet, comfortable and clean. We had breakfast each morning and we were on the doorstep to explore Hollywood. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was very clean and the rooms were spacious. My only request would be that they put in more outlets for us to plug-in devices or have appliances like clock radios that have USB ports built into them.
- 5/5
We loved this hotel! The rooms are HUGE and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Parking was in a small lot just behind the building and felt very safe and convenient (although it was best to back into the spots in order to get out easily and that is not my strong suit). There are so many things within walking distance and we felt relatively safe even walking late at night after a concert at the Palladium. Breakfast was great although a little light on protein options, and also there is no gym. We loved the Hollywood decor, the location, the room size, the cleanliness (daily room service!), the A/C, and would highly recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
Great check in. Rooms modest, but good mattress and pillows. Great location just a block off Hollywood Blvd, but no noise.
- 5/5
Very convenient location, comfortable bed, great breakfast waffle
- 5/5
awesome location! right next to the Ovation Mall and metro station. there wasn't any parking available the first night, but it was easy and affordable to park at the ovation. rooms were clean. Breakfast and coffee in the morning were great. I did laundry as well, super easy and convenient
- 5/5
Location was amazing, less than 10 minute walk to hop on hop of bus on Hollywood Boulevard. Continental breakfast was delicious every morning. Room was nice for the price.
- 5/5
Friendly breakfast attendant and friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly.
- 4/5
The amenities are very basic but worked. The Staff was definitely the "star" of this hotel. They were welcoming, helpful, and accommodating.
- 4/5
Knocking off one star because walls were thin and some noise from hallway, next door, and room above. Bed mattress had seen better days too.
- 5/5
Staff were amazing! Large rooms and clean. Great location!
- 5/5
Great location. Spacious room. Interesting layout of room. Felt like VRBO. Would stay again! Convenient to all that Hollywood had to offer.
- 3/5
The room is sufficient for a one-night stay. We arrived at 10:30 and were immediately offered the room which was nice. We left to explore LA and didn’t return until nighttime, so only needed the room to shower and sleep, and were off to the cruise port in the morning. The room feels like you’re staying in a cottage with minimal amenities and the washroom has no space for anything. The room looks like it remained in the 80s. There’s breakfast included in the morning which is convienient but the coffee is not drinkable. Staff are friendly though.
- 5/5
Very large and very clean room, exceptionally nice staff
- 3/5
The room was clean, but the entire hotel was very old no elevator for the second-floor room assess. When I took a shower, the tub made a loud noise like I was going through to the next floor not stable The breakfast was terrible no meats only waffle and coffee and peach. i will never stay here again.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Everything was great, location, staff and room. Perfect for what we were needing.
- 4/5
You get charged for parking and extra $100 for incidentals that should be taken off later, just fyi. The room was clean.
- 5/5
Staff went above and beyond to ensure we were welcomed and taken care of. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Location was excellent to Ovation, Hollywood Blvd, and venues like the Hollywood Bowl and Dolby Theater. We'd happily stay here again!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms, close to venue
- 5/5
Staff was great. Room was very nice sized. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Kind staff and clean space
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay. Close distance to shopping and eating options. Helpful staff, and clean
- 3/5
Large room with small dressing room, bathroom okay but could do with updating. Breakfast very limited - no healthy options- sound proofing non existent- could hear neighbours room - talking and moving about - above and next door - kept us awake
- 5/5
We totally enjoyed our stay. Friendly helpful staff. Conveniently located. Clean comfortable room with everything we needed and a great waffle in morning.
- 5/5
The staffs was amazing !!! From the front desk to the other staff! Great location!!
- 5/5
Great place.
- 5/5
For being the price that it was super cheap I feel like this was a excellent Hotel Not only was it clean and beautiful but the beds were amazing the pillow and the location is super perfect for everywhere you need to go the parking is excellent definitely would come back here again
- 3/5
This place was ok. It’s an interesting property with cool room layouts, but there is a lot they could do to improve. Whoever cleans the rooms does not dilute the Pinesol appropriately. The rooms reek of it and the floors are sticky and slimy with the film of it left behind. The floors are also crumbling and the heating/ac unit grate flew out as soon as you turn the unit on. Breakfast is only bread. The parking situation is abysmal and expensive on top of an already pricey room. I wouldn’t choose this property again.
- 5/5
The main drawback was that my room faced the street and was quite noisy at night. I was woken up several times and didn’t get a very good night’s sleep.
- 5/5
The breakfast lady was fantastic.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious rooms, very nice front desk people. Nice breakfast.
- 4/5
Bit of a delay with check-in due to an incoming call to but they were able to accommodate a lower level room to avoid me carrying my luggage up stairs. Clean, modern, comfortable.
- 5/5
surprisingly it was really nice !! everything is near the hotel which i love ! i got this hotel for KATSEYE’s concert and i love how close it is !! very nice !! :)) id definitely come back
- 4/5
Everything was very clean you could see and smell. It's a good thing, but I think its the smell of pine sol and it wasn't always very good for me personally to smell this all the time! Very good breakfast, worker handled all food prep to keep up with cleanliness. Very nice people and good price and parking for us. Rooms were very sterile and the pictures posted were true but it wasn't at all like I expected. Very dated room, chairs had rocky legs so didn't try to sit in them. I not discounting a thing just wasn't what I expected.
- 5/5
This hotel was lovely as it was close to everything we needed. A lovely stay and the lady that runs the continental breakfast eveey morning was more than accommodating to our needs. She always went above and beyond. 5 stars!
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and spacious . Patricia was amazing. She was very helpful when it came to assisting us with our breakfast
- 3/5
The room was in decent condition for the age of the building. We got a room with 2 beds, bathroom and kitchen. It was clean overall. I did see baby roaches and ended up killing what i found (3). The guy that checked us in was kinda rude. I dont think he meant to be that way, it just came out that way. I think he was the owner. It cost $22 a night to park (spaces were small and located in the back). Breakfast was included but only served toast, bagels, cereal and waffles. No meat what so ever. The lady serving was extremely friendly and funny. Probably woild choose a differnet place to stay next time. It was however within walking distance of the Hollywood blvd and walk of fame. It was convenient.
- 5/5
This was our first time staying here. Great location and very reasonable price. The staff was very nice especially the kind hostess taking care of breakfast. We went to a show at the Dolby Theater and it was just a short walk away. Parking was reasonably priced although a very tiny lot if you have a big vehicle (which we do not). Plan to stay here again when visiting Hollywood.
- 5/5
Clean
- 2/5
Not that great didn’t like it at all very old not that clean furniture very old park other side of the building over all mot happy with it
- 4/5
Not too many options
- 5/5
We loved this place!!! Nice to find a home away from home in the area. We frequent the whisky and have stayed in many places. Very friendly staff. In fact, the nice woman who serves the free breakfast offered to bring some homemade food for our stay next weekend, which we canceled our reservation at a different hotel to stay here again. The rooms are close to the car, and parking fees won't kill you. Super close to food, and everything else. See you next weekend!
- 4/5
Old but clean rooms. Convenient location. Great for Universal Studios.
- 5/5
Besides the great location, this hotel is roomy, clean, safe and has breakfast with the sweetest lady helping. But even more outstanding is their customer service. I left something sentimental (and sort of silly) in the room and they helped locate it and hold it until I could come back down. Definitely staying here again!
- 5/5
Very clean hotel. The staff was so friendly and kind especially Alvin! Thank you Alvin for providing guidance and helpful information for traveling around the different places such as Santa Monica. You ROCK!!! See you soon my friend!
- 2/5
At Least keep some electric plugs!
- 5/5
Patricia is the heart of this place she looked after us the whole time we stayed . Highly recommend this for your next stay in Hollywood .
- 2/5
At check-in I was disconcerted as the desk clerk announced my room number outload and printed it in large bold letters on the parking pass we were required to display. Both are practices that should be ended for guest safety. We paid through Hotels.com, but the parking fee wasn't covered. The Hotel took a $50 deposit at check-in (no problem there), saying we would get charged a $22.00 parking fee at check-out. At check-out the clerk couldn't or was unwilling to provide a receipt. After reviewing my credit card statement, it looks like they returned $22.00 of the deposit and charged us $23.00. A negligible cost difference, but I've never had a hotel unable to provide a receipt of their actual charges.
- 5/5
Staff is friendly and efficient. Love the location and the rooms are cleans and spacious.
- 5/5
The room was very clean.. the Hotel has a great location..everything was great, especially Patricia who is responsible for the breakfast.. she is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
- 4/5
Patricia made us feel very much at home. She took good care of us at breakfast. The front desk staff were also great. My only quibble was the smell of the cleaning products used in the room: they had sweet, cloying smell that made me nauseous. Odorless would bebetter. In the broader sense, the hotel needs to invest in better lighting for the rooms, even if that means charging a few dollars more.
- 5/5
Its just one block away to Hollywood Blvd , and the room was clean.....
- 4/5
Staff great. Room clean but stained carpet and sticky bathroom floor.
- 5/5
Good service, the room was nice and clean. We liked it sooook much!
- 5/5
This hotel was amazing. Very cool vibe. Loved the proximity to Hollywood Blvd. The street felt very safe. Excellent staff.
- 4/5
Great location for Dolby Theater, Hollywood Blvd, many restaurants.
- 3/5
The location is quiet (hotel is on a dead end street) and convenient to tourist spots like the Roosevelt, Chinese theatre, Walk of Fame and a metro stop and of course the price is good…BUT the saying “You get what you pay for” absolutely applies… - The walls are so thin, we could here the snoring coming from the next door room - the two easy chairs were grubby and the seat was falling through on one of them - the room door was badly damaged, and had no deadlock mechanism - the curtains did not meet in the centre and unfortunately a very bright light shines directly onto that side of the building. - we were in a room that had a pen inter-connecting door to the next room - there was only one tiny barrel bolt as the only means of locking it I am surprised to see that it is rated at 9.2 - did we just have the worst room in the place??
- 4/5
The staff was outstanding. The lady who works the breakfast room was very special, and the desk clerks were especially nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Amazing check in, room and location.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful experience. Breakfast was lovely specially Patricia was extremely courteous and cheerful. Nice, quite hotel. Kitchen was well equipped.
- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff, even had Vegemite available at breakfast for us Aussies. This is well located easy walk to Walk of fame stars and Chinese theatre in the middle of Hollywood. Think of it as a big B&B. Rooms are older but have what you need and are a good size. All rooms face an internal corridor which can be a bit noisy but makes it safer. We enjoyed our stay.
- 3/5
Hotel and rooms seem to be from the 70’s. The bathroom is very old. It was clean (Although very chemical smell - reeked if Pinesol) , service excellent. Breakfast was adequate. The location was good, still needed an uber to Universal Studios/ Warner Bros. About 25$ each way. Probably would not stay here again.
- 4/5
Great location right behind the Dolby Theater mall and Hollywood Blvd. Cozy & spacious room. Bed was a bit uncomfortable. Continental style breakfast was a plus.
- 5/5
Great location. The room is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. Their waffles on breakfast is very nice!
- 5/5
Room was nice
- 4/5
Clean rooms, great location, and nice staff. The nice, happy lady who works in the breakfast area was SO nice and happy. A great way to start the day.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely kind and friendly. Great location to Hollywood boulevard. Rooms were clean, stocked with shampoo/soap/lotion and had a nice continental breakfast.
- 5/5
Very cute!
- 5/5
Friendly staff Clean Comfortable bed Cost efficient Close to Universal Studio
- 2/5
Location was close to Hollywood Blvd though, so that was nice. Man at front desk was very nice and professional but the Sunday morning guy was rude and short tempered. He threw my car keys at me since I had ask for them back since they didn't have enough parking and I parked in the middle of the lot, blocking everyone else in. They took my keys in case they had to move it.
- 3/5
Very average motel.
- 5/5
Very quiet place, which is astonishing for how close to all the action it is. Exceptional location. Easy to get to everything. Hot tip: evening drinks at the Lowe’s hotel which is practically connected to this place. This is great value for the price and it might take a night, but you’ll really appreciate the location and the staff.
- 5/5
Clean very spacious room. Very convenient to the main attractions. Staff were incredible, especially Angel and Patricia. Mikael went above and beyond helping me with my luggage. But it was noisy on Joel’s shift. I recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
Very clean. Laundry was nice and front desk provided quarters. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff was awesome! Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again hands down!!
- 2/5
Room very old, hall super noisy, someone tried to open our room by mistake. Poor customer service at check in and check out.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very clean, breakfast included and had a nice stay. Would come again!
- 4/5
No breakfast
- 5/5
Room and service were great! Great location as well!
- 5/5
Everything was excellent, customer service, cleanliness. The breakfast was good. The stay was overall comfortable.
- 5/5
I traveled here alone as a young girl and had the safest and best experience! The staff is super nice and helpful, the rooms were clean, and I had 0 complaints.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room
- 5/5
Stayed for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, super convenient to all the Hollywood attractions.
- 5/5
The room was incredibly clean and nice. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in the door. It was an easy check in and check out process and it was nice to have essentially private parking. It was also so easy to walk to the Hollywood Bowl, where we were attending a concert.
- 5/5
Would stay there again if we're in the area.
- 4/5
Excellent location for Hollywood Bowl and downtown. It is an old building but very clean. Patricia was amazing. Very friendly and attentive.
- 4/5
Good location, great service, specially Patricia during breakfast.
- 2/5
The floors in the hotel rooms were cracked and peeling. Non compliant ADA ramps. Bed frames stacked in the hallway outside my room entrance. Homeless and low income housed in the hotel. Hotel concierge tried convincing me to pay for parking in lieu of free street parking.
- 4/5
Quaint and in the heart of Hollywood
- 5/5
Room was great for our needs.
- 5/5
Other than that I will be honest on my stay with friends and people that ask but I will recommend this place as the location is perfect!
- 5/5
And, enough towels for the both of us. Usually, we get 1 towel a piece. Not here! 2 large towels! The staff was wonderful. They were all helpful and suggested ideas on places to go. They recommend a specific gentleman for trips - around town, to the airport, etc. He is great! If you like waffles for breakfast, this is your place! They also have cereal and fresh bagels.
- 4/5
Staff were all nice and their service was really great! I just think the free breakfast needs more variety like there were no scrambled eggs or meat. They offered only toasted bread and waffles although the Waffles were really good. Location is very convenient, quiet and the vibe was relaxing. Still a place I will definitely recommend and come back to :)
- 5/5
Parking is tight but the staff is great. Very clean for an older property. Great location and walkable to all the sites to see and good food nearby
- 5/5
This place was perfect for our family of four after a day at Universal Studios. It’s a great value and convenient for folks with a car who still want some walkable options. The Ovation mall area was great and easy to get to. It is downtown Hollywood, so of course you’ll see some homeless in the area. We felt super safe and weren’t bothered. It reminded us of staying in Europe - a big international traveler presence and no frills (bring your own soap/shampoo, etc.). It was a great low cost option for a short stay, and the staff was great.
- 5/5
Everything at this hotel was exceptional. The staff was very courteous and helpful with directions and dining out suggestions. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, we had a refrigerator and a microwave in a breakfast nook. We went to a concert and when we came back the parking lot was full so the staff valet parked our car at no additional charge. The breakfast was typical continental with homemade waffles, exceptional staff helped with breakfast accommodations. Coffee tea and water were available all day and evening. The location was one block off Hollywood Boulevard and we were 20 minutes from the Saban Theater. Highly recommend!
- 1/5
The sink in my room was disgusting. Had to pay for parking but I had to walk to pick up the car. Hotel is very old.
- 4/5
A lot of homeless
- 4/5
The beds mattresses were so uncomfortable you rolled off the edges. You could see the sag off the edge before sitting on them. They desperately need to be replaced.
- 4/5
Room is a bit old. Staffs are nice and pleasant. Breakfast is the usual continental breakfast and there is somebody to make your bread and waffle.
- 4/5
Old hotel but nice renovation and very clean
- 5/5
The property was like a hidden gem in a quiet part near Hollywood Blvd. Clean and welcoming hotel. Staff provided excellent customer service from the front desk to the breakfast staff so welcoming and warm. Gives you the feeling of home away from home. Will definitely recommend!
- 3/5
Walls are thin and can hear alot, especially in the morning
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay here. Albin and Patricia were absolutely amazing; so friendly and helpful! It's an older building so it has a few issues but nothing significant. Parking lot spots are pretty small so could be challenging if you have a larger vehicle. Easy walk to Ovation mall and Hollywood blvd main drag. Complimentary breakfast had wonderful bagels and freshly made Belgian waffles. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Quiet and clean rooms
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Location , location , location
- 5/5
Clean hotel and very close to the mall.
- 5/5
Wonderful....... this is such a gem, a boutiquie and very design oriented hotel. 40 rooms nestled in the heart of Hollywood... in the middle of everything but at the same time private and buffered from the congestion of surrounding streets like Franklin and Highland. The support team are very friendly and once you find where the adjacent parking lot is located its easy access to the Bowl, Hollywood Blvd and alike. The Hollywood motif and well designed interior is the perfect compliment to the Hwd atmosphere. Its a lovely experience.

The staff was great and very helpful. Respectful, kind and knowledgeable! The hotel itself is average based on looks. The street it’s on is average. Old looking street but I felt safe walking to the Dolby theater through the docking area.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, great staff & convenient location. Overall great for the price
- 4/5
It was clean and the beds very comfortable. Saturday's host was very personable and helpful. The breakfast lady was wonderful. Sunday's check out person not so much.
- 1/5
the parking was awful front desk person not very nice got back late and the night person had to park my car in another parking lot then the rude guy in the morning gave me my keys and my car was not in lot so had to go back to front desk the same rude guy said its in other lot and made me walk up the street to get car and bring remote back
- 3/5
The room was a good size but no view. Pillows were hard. Shower drain horrible water backed up as you showered also the hot and cold water was not regulated. Sometimes it was super hot other times super cold. Parking lot is horrible it’s very cramped. Do not bring any large cars. For the price I guess you can’t complain too much. It was reasonable. Enjoyed the close proximity to all of the entertainment.
- 4/5
Great location near Hollywood Bowl.
- 5/5
Fantastic location and historic arcithecture. The biggest shout out to Patrica for preparing breakfast for all the hotel guests waiting for waffles, with her wink and a smile!! The hotel manager needs a huge shout out as well, he was so very nice!
- 4/5
Fun boutique hotel. Parking is tough but it’s close to Hollywood.
- 4/5
It’s very old and has a smell of old. No ventilation in the hallways which makes it hot and stuffy. The rooms need to be aired out often. The parking is a bit of an inconvenience but overall good for what we needed. Bed was comfy.
- 5/5
Nice dining area in room, spacious and lots of natural light. close to the hollywood bowl,we walked there.
- 4/5
The staff was great. The hotel seemed small but the room had enough space. Definitely an older hotel but clean. I was a bit worried about the parking situation. Their parking lot is behind the hotel in an empty unattended lot with limited space
- 4/5
Great location for sightseeing Hollywood
- 3/5
This is a very old hotel. Room had peeling paint. Very loud window type air conditioner. Beds were ok. Parking is awful. If you have anything other than a compact car you will struggle. The breakfast is waffles, bagels and cereal. A very nice woman makes all of it for you. It worked for one night.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff. Nice Continental breakfast. Close to everything!
- 5/5
This is our second stay with Hollywood Celebrity. It’s like going back to visit family especially Patricia at breakfast.
- 3/5
Nice staff, cute building, great location, beds were comfortable.... BUT overpowering scent of chemical disinfectant that was very unpleasant. I had to wash everything when I came home as it had permeated all my clothes. I'm pretty easy going, and I really wanted to like this place, but the odor of the cleaner was just too much.
- 5/5
The desk clerk is exceptional. He exp en showed us the way to the Ovation buses for an event at the Hollywood Bowl. We are recommending this property for others
- 5/5
Location is perfect right by Hollywood blvd and is very quiet. Great having the breakfast included and staff were great.
- 5/5
Clean and quiet
- 5/5
Convenient & quiet location right on Hollywood walk of fame. Subway is 5 minutes walk that can take you to universal or downtown.
- 4/5
Great location!
- 5/5
We had a 2 day layover in LA so decided to site see for a little. Location was great for nearby attractions. Shopping and dining near by. Area was kind of sketchy when arriving after dark but we were ok. Definitely a tourist are so expect a lot of traffic nearby. The hotel itself was off a side road so it was quiet at night. No elevator so keep that in mind for the elders. Don't expect a new modern decor because this hotel is old. Old but still in good shape and clean. The room had plenty of space for 4 adults to share. There was road construction leading to the hotel and sometimes that was annoying.
- 5/5
Note: shampoo, hand bar soap & lotion were provided. If you need other toiletries, 7 min walk to Target & CVS. Breakfast are the same for 3 days (waffle, cereal and bagel)
- 3/5
The bed was terrible. It was an d mattress. You can tell by looking at it. It was reunion the edges showing lots of wear. And I’m only allergic to one thing that I know of and that’s analgesic. It sets my skin on fire when I come in contact with it. And my right side felt like it was on fire . I had to get up and take a shower. I’m guessing the last person that stayed in that room used some food arthritis or muscle cream and it was on the mattress or didn’t come out of the sheets when washed.
- 5/5
Did I mention there’s a free breakfast here? It’s free, and therefore, delicious! Had a great lil staycation here… felt like home away from home.

- 5/5
Great location. 5 minute walk to the Chinese theater and walk of fame.
- 5/5
We were honestly not sure what to expect in the Hollywood area. The surrounding area has a nice outdoor mall nearby (with a good coffee kiosk) and is within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl. The hotel staff were very quick and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed sufficed, but the mattress was 'indented' and higher down the center, making us feel like we were rolling off the egdes. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with a great location to the Hollywood Bowl.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The place had an old Hollywood vibe and the staff were so kind and helpful! It also is so close to Hollywood Blvd but off the beaten path so it made it quieter but walking distance from the strip!
- 5/5
Wonderful stay and great stay. Room was nice and beds were nice. Great location and would book again.
- 5/5
This was a hidden gem, tucked away in the perfect location. The room was large enough for 4 adults. Staff were excellent, especially the breakfast attendants. Would definitely recommend.
- 4/5
Perfect for viewing a documentary at the TLC theater. A few hundred yards from the Mall and the theater. On a dead end street so you don't get all the street trafic noise. Parking is a little tight was workable
- 5/5
Wonderful stay for the Hollywood Bowl
- 2/5
Upon walking in we loved the room. Simple and what seemed clean. The floor was a little dirty because my socks were almost a different color from walking on the floor. The real issue was the water temperature. We didn’t have cold water and had a very uncomfortable hot shower. The next day they came and woke us up early in the morning before checkout to take a look at the facet, which they should’ve just waited until after we left because we were all still sleeping and clearly had a do not disturb sign outside our door. Overall it was an okay place to stay for the night.
- 5/5
This was our first time staying at this hotel, and we all agree we'd stay here again. The kitchenette was really helpful and the room felt spacious. It's in walking distance of SO many places regarding the "Hollywood" tourist experience, which is what we were doing. Parking is a little tricky, but then again it's LA. The building is clean and the staff is very friendly. :)
- 5/5
The day front office staff and the breakfast lady Patricia were very friendly and welcoming! Can’t recommend this hotel more! The only thing I can think of is the price, but it’s normal in LA anyway!
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 5/5
Patricia was an absolute delight—warm, accommodating, and made us feel like we were staying with close friends. The breakfast area was lovely, and every little request we had was met with a smile. While the property is older, it’s full of character and incredibly close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The two-bedroom setup gave us the extra space we needed, and it worked out perfectly for our family. We’ve stayed at Hyatts, Marriotts, and other big-name hotels, but this place isn’t trying to be them—and that’s what makes it special. It’s cozy, personal, and truly welcoming. Our whole family loved it.
- 5/5
It’s Okay…
- 5/5
The staff was friendly efficient. This is an adorable little older hotel. That’s just expertly remodeled. We really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic. Just close to everything we needed to do.
- 4/5
Close to what we wanted to do.
- 2/5
Would not stay again
- 5/5
The staff is the gem to this hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff go beyond expectations to help and provide whatever information needed to manage this busy city. Very friendly! Convenient location.
- 5/5
There is nothing else we could have asked for and we would definitely stay here again when we have tickets to either the Hollywood Bowl or the Pantages. Highly recommend it!!
- 5/5
Small walk to Hollywood Blvd. Quiet and clean hotel.
- 3/5
This hotel is right off the Walk of Fame where the stars are on Hollywood Boulevard. It’s a place to visit once during your stay in LA. It’s not, however, a neighborhood where you should plan to stay while there. There are many more hotels in nicer, safer, more user friendly West LA neighborhoods. I spent one night here on my way somewhere else but I did not go back while traveling with out of town guests. Their teens wanted to walk up and down and take photos of the stars and buy tshirts. We did that on one afternoon for about an hour and a half. That’s about all the time I’d give this neighborhood. The hotel itself wasn’t awful. But the location is the issue …
- 5/5
The Hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Hollywood Boulevard just a 5 min walk, but in a quiet dead end street. Staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and quiet with everything you need provided, the buffet breakfast is a perfect start to the day
- 4/5
The staff was ver courteous.
- 5/5
Need to update poster decor, but other than that, very nice.
- 5/5
Great location, steps from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Good breakfast, refrigerator in room. Highly recommended!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was clean and staff was helpful and friendly.
- 4/5
Patricia who served breakfast was so lovely and really looked after us.
- 5/5
Loved the vloseness to everything outside, loved the waffles and that lovely mecican lady who served us fresh waffles and vegemite toast everyday, staff were frienfly. Liked the bath but shower has very poor pressure.
- 5/5
Did not have a good experience with the front desk guy at check in. Not very friendly. Breakfast was ok. Gal wanted to handle every movement to get the food options. Was weird. Like we can’t handle making a mini waffle or toast. Hotel overall was nice.
- 4/5
Patricia provides excellent service to all customers and she can remember our breakfast preference. The hotel is very convenient, about 5 minutes wakk to Highland Metro and nearby has food options and shopping. Though the furnishings is outdated, the property is clean.
- 5/5
Close to Hollywood and nice accommodations
- 5/5
This hotel was fantastic. The emplacement is perfect near the walk of fame. The room was clean and big! The breakfast was nice just little bit crowded because the room who it served it’s small. The only negative point is we had a room with the wall against the breakfast room so we got a lot of noise.
- 5/5
The location was central.
- 5/5
Really cozy and welcoming! The employee Patricia in particular was really sweet and thoughtful!
- 5/5
Cute quiet place. Gives you the feeling of old hollywood that has been modernized.
- 5/5
This was a great little boutique hotel off the strip which made it quiet but also accessible to everything. Great hiking only a few blocks away!
- 1/5
Not much to say. Parking is very congested and have to move the car after parking. No proper ventilation in room. Only good thing, i liked is staff is very friendly and lots of shopping options in walkable distance.
- 3/5
The staff are nice. The parking is decent. The hotel and hot water is just okay. The location is good for sight seeing.
- 4/5
This property was older but clean. Staff was friendly. Side note is there is no elevator. It is only two story so it wasn't a big deal for us but could be for others. Parking is around back but there is a little alley that brings you back up to the front entrance. It was located in a convenient area to access Hollywood blvd easily through the loading dock of the mall or and extra 5 minute walk to walk around the building. The only complaint I have is the sheets were absolutely awful. I should have requested new ones but I didn't. They were pilling and scratchy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here in the future though.
- 2/5
5 out of 6 people on staff was great. The lady that help at the breakfast bar was outstanding. Now, this guy by the name of Joel was horrible. His customer service skill are the worse. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. I almost check out the first night because of how confrontational he was. The paking situation us indescribable inconvenient. When we first got there my daughter went to the restroom, turning on the light, and the lights were flickering like it was possessed. During our showers the water would turn from hot to cold, cold to hot, very frustrating. The cleaning smell was so strong it gave my wife a headache. Even with as nice as most of the employees are, we would n3ver stay here again.
- 4/5
The location to Hollywood Boulevard was great! Especially when we figured out the shortcuts. The staff was excellent! The reason for my rating was that our room had signs of need for significant repair. The floor by the sink was collapsing with tears in the vinyl flooring, the vanity was quite old, discolored, and peeling up, and in the kitchen area I wiped significant dust off of the walls. I felt safe and I'm not uppity about my accommodations. The room we had needs to be addressed.
- 5/5
Fabulous! Great location & very comfortable, safe, easy walking to lots of restaurants, bars, & Hollywood Blvd. The staff was so nice & very friendly; went above & beyond for us during our stay. The room was clean with plenty of space, there was a table/chairs & a refrigerator. Would stay here again for sure!
- 5/5
The hotel does the work, it’s very well located and the staff is amazing, extremely friendly! Highly recommended
- 5/5
Really cute little hotel. Nice breakfast. Close to all things Hollywood. Staff were super friendly
- 4/5
friendly and helpful ataff
- 5/5
I liked the area of the Motel and how quiet it was given its location.
- 5/5
The staff at this hotel was so friendly and helpful giving us all sorts of advice. The room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. The walls were nice and thick we couldn’t hear any other guests even though they were fully booked. I would definitely come again.😊
- 5/5
Stopped in LA for two days during a roadtrip. This hotel is super cute and adorable. The parking is affordable, especially for LA, about $20 a night. The fact that parking is available is huge, as parking is LA is non existent or highly expensive. The parking lot is very tight and crammed, but all of LA is. The staff here is so friendly, and Ms. Patricia (I believe that was her name) who does breakfast is so pleasant. She also makes the best waffles I’ve ever had at a hotel! So good.
- 5/5
- 4/5
Cute art deco vibe. Needs an update, but simple and clean. Front desk check-ins. Good service. The breakfast lady is amazing! In the heart of it all in Hollywood—lots of tourists, lots to do!
- 4/5
Older, low end furnishings. Old school Hollywood ambience. Great access to Hollywood Blvd and Oscars location. Good staff and management
- 1/5
Not as the pictures showed
- 5/5
Very clean place, amazing staff!
- 3/5
The location was excellent - steps to the Dolby Theatre and TCL. We had the two king bed room and the beds were comfortable. However, the room was very old (ancient bathroom fixtures), tiny bathroom, the room was not very clean and the floors were falling apart. The parking lot was tiny - at busy times, you had to back onto the highway to get out. The room was not cheap, so I was expecting a bit more.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
The staff was crazy, polite, and helpful, especially the guy who opens in the morning, whose name I can’t currently remember. The parking situation was pretty rough, but it was a great little motel with a fun atmosphere and a great area. I’ll absolutely come back if I’m ever in town again.
- 5/5
Nice small hotel half a block away from hollywood blvd and the stars. The staff really make the differenxe they are nice and helpful and will have a big smile and this is not common in Los Angeles. Would come back. Recommended.
- 3/5
What have really compensated to giving this hotel a 3 stars rating is their great super friendly customer service, cleanliness, as well as, the distance from the Chinese theater Hollywood walk of fame, and the Hollywood mall. I also like that they have a small dining area and make up area in the room. Beds aren't as comfortable but it's old so don't expect much. Not much eco friendly since they use plastic cups, styrofoam bowls and cups for serving breakfast. If you have problems going up the stairs, make sure to book a room on the 1st floor. They do not have an elevator. Since it's an old vintage hotel, don't expect too much from it. It's old to the point that they were having problems with electricity. Their circuit breaker tripped and it took 4 hours before they were able to figure out and fix the problem, it tripped again in the evening but they fixed it immediately. The parking lot is very compact and quite hard to get in because of the very small space. As you exit the parking area, you have to be very careful since it's a busy street. Going into the lot, its best to go around instead of trying to make a left turn from Franklin to go inside the parking. As we were walking on Franklin towards La Brea, I noticed that some parts of the neighborhood is a little sketchy.
- 3/5
It was decent enough. Needs some upgrades to the bathroom.
- 1/5
Delicious waffles & bagels
- 4/5
No lift in property, few stairs to negotiate Breakfast provided is very basic (drinks, bagels, waffles) and served in a small dining area. Shower in room sometimes difficult to get to temperature. Nice 'no frills' place to stay
- 5/5
I'll be back Alvin.
