Best Western Hollywood Plaza Hotel - Walk of Fame Film City LA

Nice place for the value. It's clean at the street. Not the quietest place, but if you leave the fan going it drowns out most of the noise. I did have a heck of a time finding my room a couple times as a sober person, maybe a look at a map of the complex would be helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

My original hotel was close to the airport. I had to switch to this hotel because it was closer to everything. I was very happy with my stay.

Perfect if you’re going to a show at the Hollywood bowl!! It made it so convenient and easy to get there and back with a 10 minute walk!! Pricey for the night stay but makes sense because of the location. Would recommend for concert goers.

Was a great location a touch away from the business but close enough to enjoy. Only issue was no complimentary breakfast like advertised.

I liked the location. It was really close to Universal Studios. The beds were the worst beds we had ever slept on. The property needed a lot of maintenance done.

One of the biggest advantages is how close it is to everything. The hotel is only a short walk from train station, making it very easy to get into surrounding areas. There are also plenty of bus stops nearby, along with the main Hollywood Boulevard shopping, restaurants, and cafes all within walking distance, which made the stay very convenient. The room itself was modern, clean, and spacious, with great amenities and a comfortable bed. What stood out most was how practical and comfortable the stay felt—everything you need is either in the room or just a short walk away. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a well-priced, comfortable stay in Hollywood that is close to transport, shops, and local attractions. It’s a great option for both short visits and longer stays.

While it was on a busy street, it was quiet. You couldn’t hear really any traffic. And it was easy to find for DoorDash to deliver to. The bathroom needed a little updating. You could tell it was older. The door didn’t close all the way either.

There was homeless people under the influence walking onto the property, nothing was secure for entry including the elevator to go to the rooms. Our door handle was loose and I was NOT comfortable to stay there with my daughters. We found another hotel and when I went to the lobby nobody was there so I left the room keys on their desk and left. I would never book a room here again.

I loved staying at this Best Western. It is located close to the Hollywood stars, Universal Studios and the Observatory. The food in the cafe downstairs was delicious. Everything was clean and everyone was courteous. I would stay here again. Thank you!

Bed was uncomfortably firm. Shower was unpleasantly hot. Had to quickly rinse off and shut it off before it got too hot. I don’t recommend their shower.

The lady Christina at the Best Western in hollywood is scamming companies out of more money for digital cards. She told us our reservation was canceled but it wasn’t so she had travelocity give a new card and probably kept it and continued with our normal reservation. we had to wait over an hour to check in due to the property trying to scam us and travelocity.

The lack of sleep you’ll get at this place is insane. From crazy people just waking you at all hours of the night and morning. Every single day of our stay was restless and uncomfortable. The rooms have seen better days, the rooms smelled humid. The staff is very friendly and nice however. The location should be avoided if you value your rest and sanity.

I didn't like the $20 parking fee. Also, the floors are not carpeted. It makes for a very uncomfortable stay. Be careful you don't bump your shin on the bed frame, did that several times and now I have a bruise...Not comfortable AT ALL!

Parking is rough - wouldn't recommend this place if you have anything larger than a mid-sized SUV otherwise you're not going to get in a spot. The price of the place was only acceptable because of the proximity to Hollywood Bowl, otherwise I'd have a hard time paying over $70/night given the age/quality of the room.

The pool was dirty so was the hot tub. There were so many ants you couldn’t put your stuff down by the pool or you would be swarming with ants! One of the elevators wasn’t working but the rooms and balcony were extremely clean. Also very friendly staff.

We stayed 12 nights, and were really happy with the stay. I read reveiws that said it was noisy so i requested a room.away from the road and it was not noisy at all. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, i would stay here again.

We decided to stay here for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was perfect! Walked to and from with no issues. Room was nice. Parking is a little tight but it wasn't an issue since we had a little rental car.

Parking is a bit tight but I asked if there were slightly larger parking spots (as I have a full size truck) and there are some spots around the back that worked out just fine. Rooms are very small very cluttey

The soap tube in the shower was out, so I had to use shampoo to clean myself. The bed was lumpy. I would have been better off sleeping on the gravel at the homeless camp a few yards away. the closet was so small I couldn't even reach inside with out shifting in a weird position to get my clothes. The rooms have no sound buffers so you hear every footstep and every suitcase rolling down the aisles. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Too noisy for us. You hear road noise all night along with conversation form the neighboring rooms, as if their in the same room as you. We didn't use any ammenities since it was just an overnight stay for a play. That was very convenient. Some repairs need to be done in the room and the bathroom had a odd smell resembling a skunk.

Hotel is off a very busy street making it difficult to get in and out of parking lot. The hotel charged a non refundable parking fee to use their parking lot as if I could park anywhere else. It was close in proximity to Hollywood and the Hollywood Bowl which is nice. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The bed was very hard however which made it difficult to sleep. All in all not a bad place to stay for 1 night.

Location is excellent and that's what you're paying for. The room was somewhat newly renovated, but there were paint chips on the wall, the floor laminate was soft in some places and there were gnats in the room. The A/C dripped a little bit inside of the on the floor.

Hollywood bowl is very close,!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were all excellent and really seem to care which always makes for an ideal experience. The room was cleaned well and comfortable and had everything we needed. They had a security person who was watching the parking area at night which made me feel safe about parking our rental here.

Great place to stay for an easy walk to the Hollywood Bowl. The shower could use an upgrade.

The biggest concern we had was more about the safety of the area. Upon returning to our motel fairly early one evening (before 8:00 PM), we needed to take cover in our car as there was an altercation between some guests of the motel that involved gun shots and police officers/EMT services helping a man who was bleeding profusely from the back of his head. The security guard was very concerned about the safety of us in our car and suggested we stay there until we could get to our room safely. At one point, a black sedan came speeding by the lobby entrance from the parking lot and did not slow down…nearly hitting an elderly couple walking in front of the motel and causing cars to come to a screeching halt in front of the motel.

Professional, welcoming, friendly, knew her stuff, gave us a room that wasn't too noisy on the top floor, efficient with check-in... a real sweetheart. The room seriously had the best air conditioning I've ever experienced at a hotel. I'm not joking. The room was small, but it was clean and just what we needed. it was a very short walk to the Hollywood Bowl. We also enjoyed drinks at the Mexican restaurant. Cheers!

Unassuming that delivered a wonderful night sleep on the road! In a world that you have to find a fault, this hotel managed to provide everything and be in walking distance to lots of Hollywood activities. This is is my go to hotel especially if there is an event at the Hollywood Bowl.

The room size was small, the bathroom tiny. Dirty laundry bags are strewn all over the place, and it feels like a real low-end shady motel. See pictures enclosed. The place doesn't even have any restaurant/ cafetaria/ breakfast options.

I was visiting for just one night from Oxnard and San Diego to watch a show at the Hollywood Bowl and we couldn't have picked a better place. The receptionist was so polite and friendly and the location was perfect! We decided that's where we're staying for future shows or just visiting Hollywood in general. Great location overall and the only reason i didn't give it a 5 was because the AC seemed to struggle a bit and the room felt stuffy most of the evening, though not terrible.

Front staff were extremely helpful. The restaurant adjacent to the property was quite good, Cafe Cancun, highly recommend. The pool was terrific and quiet for the most part and as always, we enjoyed the close proximity to the Hollywood bowl and other Hollywood attractions.

This hotel is within walking distance to the Hollywood bowl, rooms are a little dated , comfortable mattresses. Road noise, and construction noise during the day. Housekeeping needs to brush up on their English.

Location is good for the Hollywood attractions and especially the Bowl. Hotel is just okay. The rooms are basic with thin walls. Front desk staff were pleasant and efficient. Cafe had long waits in the morning and staff was disorganized.

The main issue for us was the window shades. Outside of each window is a bright light and the shades do not cover the entire window. A bright horizontal band of light comes through at the bottom of the window just above the air conditioner. I tried rolling up a towel and laying it at the bottom of the window frame but it didn't work.

Disliked: Noisy. Hotel is more like a motel style where the rooms access is outdoors, so you get all the street noise, and there is quite a bit in this area!

This hotel don’t have free breakfast like other hotels. My cards didn’t work 2 times and I had to go to customer service. But the employees have great customer service especially the night security he was so kind and he helped us all the time. Thank you!!!

From when I checked in to when I checked out, I felt welcome. The kind gentleman informed me about the restaurant in the hotel and its hours. The room was clean and spacious. Small traffic noise, but expected near a busy area. It was a well lit area to walk into at night. Easy access to Hollywood Bowl and you avoid the parking hassle.

Not an upscale property like other neighborhood properties of similar scale. Reception was very good. Rooms are very small but room service was attentive. I would not stay again here.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night because we wwre going to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. This hotel was perfect location. We walked to the concert and back. The cafe downstairs has a bar..everything you need is there. Room is basic but clean and has everything you need for a quick stay.

This hotel is honestly in a very good location. Hollywood Boulevard is only like a few minute walk.

I had to be in LA for 10 days, so I was looking for a reasonable nightly rate but I wanted to verify safety and cleanliness. I came across the very good reviews for this place and took a chance. This place is awesome! It’s basically an old school motel type feel where the doors open to the exterior. Nonetheless, it feels very safe, is extremely clean and the staff is exceedingly accommodating and friendly. I will definitely book again.

I went for a concert at the bowl and it was so convenient to walk to the venue. Parking was cheaper due to reserving through the app. The check in process was fast without any issues.

The pool was freezing cold and dirty, very limited parking, the pictures were not accurate, room was very small with peeling paint, terrible to get in and out of for traffic, beds were very uncomfortable, water pressure in the shower has terrible, walls very thin, we could hear everything outside. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is uphill from Hollywood Boulevard, so it’s a bit of a hike. Women may consider the area along Highland to and from the boulevard as “sketchy”, and might feel more comfortable walking in groups. LA has its share of homeless, and there’s usually two or three camped at Franklin and Highland.

Hotel conveniently located close to Universal (5-10 min drive), Hollywood Walk of fame (5-10min drive or about a 20 -30 min walk), and about a 10/15 min drive to the Hollywood sign. Room was a good size, clean, pool area was small but still enjoyable. They have a cafe/restaurant in its grounds as well. Didn’t have an issue with parking, even after getting back late from universal. Only “issue” is that since it’s conveniently located, the morning and afternoon rush hours can be an inconvenience for some, but I had no issues coming and going during these hours. Would definitely stay here again.

After a long drive on roadtrip, wanting get some rest expecting a great room and comfort. We did not expect that at all, once we arrived. Our we room smelled like weed, walls stained yellow, restroom not cleaned, and the beds are as hard as the floor. All our excitement out the window. Went back to the desk telling them about our room. The two gentlemen apologized with no empathy. We got a new room and it was little to no difference then the other but it was bearable. In the morning we checked out and informed the front desk about the situation again. They were much better in service and very helpful. Advertised they had breakfast available and they didn’t and was told to go next door to the restaurant. Overall I wouldn’t ever come back and don’t recommend anyone to stay at best western Hollywood. You’re best to sleep in your car then at this hotel.

Room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The outside area was a little dirty and you could hear a ton of noise from the street, the people outside and anyone staying in a room next to yours.

The room was not recently renovated as stated or if it was, poorly renovated. The room smell terribly of a heavy musky smell that did not go away.

The staff at the front desk were great. The restaurant was closed and maid service was spotty.

But when we arrived in our room, there was a strong odor that wouldn’t go away. It smelled like ant spray. It was very strong. And then the sink stopped up. While taking a shower you could tell that in order for the water to be hot you have to get up early. But the manager provided a comp due to the strong odor in the room and the other issues as well.

Average Experience, we thought the cafe advertised was open but it is closed permanently. There’s a $22 parking fee for each night. Expected better. Tv in there is outdated & only does live channels. Fridges do not get cold. Honestly is only okay if you’re just there to sleep. Very clean however, ladies were working overtime on the cleanliness.

Honestly location great for Lyft users, close to Universal Studio. I always stay at Best Western and this is the first one I ever encountered without a free continental breakfast. Very disappointing and the water pressure in shower along with the temperature of the water (warm never hot) sucked.

This is my second time staying at this Best Western. Very easy check in process! Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking feels a little tight but also very safe. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Easy access to many attractions in LA. There's a Mexican restaurant/cafe next to the Lobby downstairs and there's also a TGIF inside the hotel nextdoor. There's also a pool and Jacuzzi downstairs that looked very clean but we didn't use it since it was pretty cold outside. I will definitely continue staying at this hotel for any future trips.

The staff was great and responsive. The issue is that the shower was luke warm by design. I dont need to have my skin melted when I shower, but it should atleast get past barely luke warm.
