Clean lovely room so close to the beach, very friendly staff, beach towels are nice and available in each room. Free beach chairs/ umbrellas for guests to grab and enjoy

Nothing i like Pictures from the hotel edited so as to not show the true picture of the hotel, smells very bad, air conditioning not cooling and making a lot of noise, no elevators, no parking.

Parking was charged. But other than that, everything else was great!

It was newly done on the inside. Everything except the curtains, which were dirty, was good. The bathroom did have a bad sewer smell even though it’s seems like it’s all new.

Great location, we were staying for just one night. We secured on street metered parking just outside the hotel. We walked to Venice Beach and found an amazing choice of places to eat and drink a few streets back from the sea front. The room was sparkling clean, beach towels were provided in a handy beach bag. We really enjoyed our stay.

Location, cute place, friendly staff. For the price, expected the bed and pillows to be more comfortable. I also misunderstood that parking was not included.

Location is perfect. Room and bathroom and desk are all nice and good enough indeed. Very kleen and housekeeping is excellent. But.... Walls are paper thin. Traffic is loud. VERY noisy plumbing from neighbouring rooms. No dining room or room service or snack shop in the hotel. You have to go out to restaurants for everything.

Easy check in. They let us checked in an hour early. It was much needed. Love the little hotel vibe and everything is near by. Santa Monica beach was just a 3 minutes walk from our hotel and it took us under 12 minutes to the pier by foot. Would def go back in!!!

Directly across from the beach! All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms were immaculate. Also, they held our luggage when we arrived early without a fee which was nice. Great walking distance to anything you want to get to, and they have beach cruisers to rent if you want to bike further. We liked everything.

Good location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy. Room was a little small.

The hotel did overlook the beach and the room was adequate. We had a lot of noise in the night due to the couple next door. Car parking was a hassle as the car park is small, so limited chance of getting a space ($33 per night extra) and cars on the road have to be moved by 7am for street cleaning. We used the beach car park during the day (no overnight parking) which was a short walk away. It was a few minutes walk to the pier and cafes. Fine during the day but there were several homeless people in the area.

We love the location and the view, and have stayed here many times. And their more expensive rooms are good. BUT, there are a couple rooms that seem to be reserved for guests that may appear “high risk”, like bikers or rock and roll bands, and unfortunately we got one of those last night. The AC didn’t work, no soap in the bathroom, no mini bar, tiles missing in the bathroom, some, dirt and mold, no decor whatsoever, and circus elephants stomping around upstairs early in the morning. I guess it just wasn’t our lucky night. We will stay there again but definitely avoid room 124!

Beautiful oceanfront location with good parking in back. We had a small kitchenette, which was very convenient. Park across the street was very nice. Excellent place to start our Route 66 journey eastbound! Also, pet friendly was a great feature.

When I booked online it said “parking available”. When I arrived i was charged another $80 for parking. Be aware that parking is not included when you book accommodation.

Clean room, nicely updated. Property showing exterior wear. AC broke- they say that they replaced it the second night, but the new one didn't work either. Staff mostly nice except one guy who was rude. Not very close to restaurants but extremely close to the beach.

I had an interior room of the courtyard. The metered parking was always available and right by my entrance gate so that was very convenient. The room itself was very clean, nicely updated and very secure. The exterior of the property could use some attention....paint handrails, spruce up the outside. Proximity to the ocean......amazing. Price seems high for this property.

Front desk service was odd and slightly unfriendly. Room was not clean and after walking around on the floor, we realized it was coated in a heavy layer of black dirt. Room was rough around the edges.

A nice clean room with friendly staff in a good location. I liked the touch of a beach bag and towel in the room but it was winter when we visited - also looked like some boogie boards were available . Short walk to pier and into town for bars and restaurants . Thanks !

Everything was great, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, there is air conditioning, the hotel location is perfect, the beach is right across the street, the only thing is that there is no free parking, but there are parking spaces on the hotel premises, our vacation was great, I recommend the hotel

The room was fine. Nothing special. I woke up with 4 bug bites which I hope were from mosquitos and not bed bugs but I didn’t have time to look around. Very noisy at night - could hear what sounded like a loud maintenance cart, people talking all hours of the night. For $250 I would find somewhere else next time for this less than average hotel.

I stay at this property when I am in Santa Monica because it’s walking distance to the restaurants and to the beach and the rooms are clean and conveniently located in the staff is pretty nice but for the amount of time I come there the staff should recognize me and maybe offer me an upgrade sometimes, but all in all the property itself is very good so thank you

Nice comforter on the bed, pillows ok could be better. Clean and comfortable. No view from two chairs outside the room facing an apartment building. Had to wait a long time to get my room as the man was a bit slow but otherwise all good.

This was a super nice find for our road trip from Laguna Beach to San Fran. Walkable to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier.

The property is very close to the beach. It was very clean and there was staff 24/7. Lots of rental ameny. Parking was unique, either street parking or on the property for a certain fee. After 6pm is free street parking. It was safe quiet and relaxing. Opening my hotel door and getting that beach breeze was a pure joy. I will be coming back.

The staff was so accommodating and we loved everything about our stay from the design of the room to the access to the ocean and lots of businesses within walking distance. Would stay here again in a heartbeat :)

Everything was great except the bed. It was like sleeping on concrete. The grounds could have been a little cleaner, but the view from our room was spectacular! The distance to anything was impeccable!

Bayside hotel was perfect for me and my husband trip to California! The staff was so nice! The property was quit and the view was great! I love how close to the beach we were and the santa monica pier is also very close! They let me have an extended check out time with no issues!

Let me just tell you the place is very clean which is my most important factor when staying somewhere. They are close to everything and have the most incredible beachfront view. Highly recommend staying here! Ill be back!

We weren't at the hotel much as we were in town for a family funeral but the stay is always good. Great location for us and the beach is always comforting to look at. We have stayed at the Bayside often so we know it is comfortable, clean, and accommodating for our needs.

The property was well kept up and renovations have been done. It’s beautiful inside the rooms very clean. We stayed in the room with the kitchen it had everything we needed in it and it had lots of security features going in and out of the hotel very close proximity to the beach and pier.

Stayed here one night at start of our California road trip. The hotel has a great location - 2 mins from the beach and 5 from the famous pier. Many restaurants relatively close. The hotel is clean and functional but the staff on arrival and departure were unfriendly and cold. It’s more like a motel than a hotel - but much more expensive! Has seen better days and I wouldn’t return or recommend.

Well appointed and updated. Enjoyed my stay - very comfortable room. Right next to the Santa Monica boardwalk and pier. Restaurants just a couple blocks away. Plan to stay again next time I'm in town.

not quite the valet scene like a block over, but it was clean, near the beach, had a view, and bikes were for rent out front. Rooms were pretty similar to the pictures and it was a good value stay for the area.

This is a very basic motel. Rooms are clean but very small, and there are no amenities to speak of. I had to wait a half hour to check in because there was a single person on duty, and they had stepped out for a break.

Front desk staff was rude.

Overall it was horrible when I get there to check in at 10pm they were close I couldn’t check in at all the security told me that were close for the night.. mind you that I had pay already. So I had find other hotel pay again !! If I only knew that they’ll be close by 9pm I wouldn’t never booked a room there overall awful experience..

It gets the job done giving you a place to sleep. The rooms are small for the price you’re paying. It’s more a motel than hotel. And the bathroom sink had a horrible sewage smell coming from it.

The room was lovely and spacious enough with fine amenities, but the real treat was being able to walk out and around the beach, but also be able to bring a car into public parking nearby and leave it overnight.

Great, friendly staff and very efficient. My only gripe would be the categorisation of the property. For English travelers, this is more akin to a motel, not a hotel as there is no restaurant, bar or pool. Units are on two levels with an outside staircase. You definitely pay for the proximity to the beach.

The place was not bad; it was fairly safe and close to the beach. My room wasn't ready, but they gave me a room with a kitchen. It worked for what I needed.

Ground floor garden rooms open onto the patio garden just a few steps to the beach. The hotel provides beach gear and each room comes with a fridge, some had microwaves (ours didn't). There's a good but small grocery store nearby, and a breakfast cafe up the block, as well as an amazing Thai restaurant with a Michelin rating a couple of blocks away. It's always quiet and beautiful here.

If you are looking for something upscale-move on. But this is one great little hotel 2 blocks from one of the best beaches in the country- Santa Monica! Nothing fancy, just a comfortable place to sleep with a patio outside your door overlooking the pacific-DIVE IN. When you're hungry great restaurants abound, or bring some food along there is a little kitchenette. Everyone was very nice and totally accommodating. Book it!

Best location in Santa Monica. Right in front of the Beach in a quiet are with public parking available and very walkable to the Pier and all the restaurants.

I love how quaint and clean the place is. I enjoyed the restroom being clean I’ve been in hotels with questionable restrooms. Cleaning ladies came back after we asked them to come back later. The view is great. Walking distance from the beach and pier by not too close where all you get is noise. I enjoyed the rental bikes they had they were cute and affordable and fun and the extra security gate made me feel safer
