It is a definite must go if you are thinking about it. We stayed in a deluxe room with a king. We were on the port view side and would recommend the harbor side as the view of the Long Beach skyline was amazing.

This was the coolest place. It has a couple of quirks but it is also a 100 year old ship with an amazing story. For the same rate you would pay at the Holiday Inn, you will be immersed in history and culture. The hotel has several little shops and restaurants/bars. There are yours available is you're so inclined. I adventured from floor to floor and made sure to check out the engine room along with the films offered. I cannot wait to go back!

A close friend in the UK sailed on the Queen Mary as a child, so we sent him photos during our stay. They brought back wonderful memories for him. If you enjoy history and want a stay that feels unique and memorable, we highly recommend experiencing this iconic ship from a bygone era.😄🚢👻

Unique stay, they kept the hallway lights on at night so it doesn't feel too creepy walking down the long hallways in the middle of the night. Old rooms but well kept.

It’s like staying in a haunted house. Paying for parking sucks because there’s no option not to. Everything isn’t really timed or official, it’s just whenever workers decide to do stuff.

The Queen Mary hotel was good. To be honest, we stayed there mainly for a concert, not so much for the queen mary experience. The staff were very nice. The rooms are ok, not a lot of amenities (no fridge, microwave, etc), and our tv remote did not work, but again we were only there for an event. Everything is historical and old, so it’s to be expected that the floor is uneven, there’s no a/c, etc. It was a bit pricy, so I’m not sure we’d stay there again, but I can imagine history buffs would love staying there.

We had only 2 problems: One is that you cannot adjust the temperature of your room. If it's too warm or stagnant, they will send over a couple fans. The other problem was disabled-specific. I am disabled; I do not use a wheelchair, but need a cane and have trouble walking distances We did not ask for a handicap accessible room, but we got it. It was at the very stern of the ship, the very last room. If I were wheelchair-bound, it would have been fine. But walking that far was so difficult, and there aren't any benches to sit and rest... I just do not understand how they make handicap accessible rooms in the most INacessible area.

The Chelsea had a great bowl of clam chowder and staff were excellent. All staff were excellent throughout the ship. The ship just needs a refresh. The carpet looks like it is filthy in the hallways. The room is large, but was absolutely bare. It would’ve been helpful to have another end table. The outlets don’t hold any thing plugged into it and need to be replaced. I was unable to charge my phone because the charger kept falling out of the wall. All the wood in the ship has chips and cracks. We had an event Friday night and were served filet—-no steak knife and couldn’t cut through the rare meat. I would have enjoyed a medium cut vs. rare. The salmon was dry. The mashed potatoes and broccolini was wonderful. The dessert was great. Thank you asking. It’s a wonderful ship, but it certainly needs cleaning up to live up to its prior glory.

The ship is very interesting and we loved the history. As a tour or a day trip I highly recommend. That being said as a hotel it is lacking, the elevator setup is strange and very limited. We had to walk the entire length of the ship every time we left our room to get to another floor. The bar had ok prices and good service, food was tasty if not a little overpriced. Breakfast for my wife and me plus our two children was over $100 and all we had was eggs bacon and pancakes. I would visit the shop again but won’t be renting another room.

Started off a little rough. We were given the wrong room number resulting in going to the desk a couple of times which was a little frustrating. Once that was ironed out , the stay entitled up being really nice. For an older historic boat it overall was a present experience. It does put you in the mind set of know even though fairly classed it was diffently high class during its earlier years.

What they could improve on is the breakfast served at the cafe shop. They’re definitely penny pinching. $19 for a standard breakfast but they only serve you with one piece of toast, with rationed ketchup and marmalade. That was kind of a turn off for the amount of money they are charging to eat and to stay.

We live locally and I’ve always wanted to stay here. The City has been putting money into maintenance and the ship is in pretty good shape. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The wood work is fairly well maintained and the carpet looks new. Hard balance between updating the bathroom and maintaining the historic aesthetic. But at a minimum they could get rid of the rust stains in the bath tub and toilet. (and a new seat). Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a nice dinner at Chelsea’s.

OK people, getting tired of reading negative reviews about the ship. She is 90 years old! She sailed the NORTH Atlantic. There is a reason why she doesn't have A/C-she didn't need it. You can't just put A/C, or heat for that matter, in a 90 year old ship. You have to adjust your expectations and if you do that, you'll have a grand time. I love every minute I am onboard and have booked another stay in November. The staff is wonderful and I slept quite well, and yes, the walls are thin so please, be amorous elsewhere.

We booked an inside stateroom and although it had no windows it was surprisingly spacious and comfortable. It was an ada accessible room so w head a huge bathroom. My dad and his wife stayed on board as well in a harbor view room. Their room was very tight and a tiny bathroom, but again, it’s from the 30’s, taking that into account, it was neat to be back in that era. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable and I slept quite well all 3 nights. We ate on board one night, absolutely delicious. We went to the Chelsea chowder house and between all 4 of us we had; calamari, oysters, roasted chicken and scallops. It was all very good, excellent service and for the experience or seeing the harbor at night, it was well worth it. We didn’t get to do any tour but my dad did and highly recommended them, the parking is $39 a night but it’s vacation and Long Beach. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay on the ship and will definitely be going back, I’ve heard excellent things about their paranormal tour but we didn’t get to do it this time. We also had a dog with us, little challenging for potty breaks but it was nice to be so accommodated with her.

I understand to keep the ship original, but carpet in the hallways is tacked down with ducktape. The exterior of ship needs to be cleaned and repaired. It is definetly showing its age and not being kept up. The decking on the ship needs to be repaired in several places. The room was clean. The restaurant cafe promenade, food was good and portions were adequate. For the price they are charging I expected the ship to be in prestine original condition. Staff was accomodating.

Staying at the Queen Mary is about experiencing what it was like to be on an ocean liner. The rooms are a little dark and not fancy but very authentic. I enjoyed seeing all parts of the ship and the views were good. Food was okay (ans nice views) but Long Beach has many good alternatives.

The room was not inexpensive, it was all the way at the end of the ship for three senior citizens, the carpeting looked worn and dingy there was NO WINDOW in the room at all, and the water pressure was terrible. They have two restaurants. One being formal and high$$$ end, the other being cheap and very unhealthy. We did not eat on the ship. Parking was $30.00 which was a major rip off, considering you had to pay on board and there were open gaits at the exits. I felt very claustrophobic in this dark enclosed room that was very pricey. Wouldn’t recommend the Queen Mary to anyone. At check in they reminded us that the ship was 91 years old and to be kind and gentle to her.

Room was large and convenient but you could hear staff speaking on walkie talkies in the morning, which was disturbing. The room could use a refresh and parts smell a little musty. Dinner at the dining room was very nice, but the breakfast buffet leaves "A LOT" to be desired at it's ridiculous price. Front staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Room needs a refresh. Empty book shelves and broken bathroom tiles, as well as the noisy toilet at night is not my idea of a good sleep. 1/2 of the TV screen was blacked out and I reported that, so no TV to watch.

We enjoyed our stay here. Our daughter loves history and the boat is like a big museum. Good options for food. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. Keep in mind this is an old cruise ship so there are a few quirky things. The bathtubs are normal size to the eye but very narrow in the bottom which could be an issue for some people while standing to shower. There also aren't many outlets in the room and none near the beds so keep that in mind if you have multiple devices to plug in at night. Our window was drafty but the hotel provided us extra blankets. The walls are thin and you hear everything. We are pretty flexible travelers so none of this ruined our experience. Book your tours early as the do fill up fast and only offer a certain number and times each day. Overall we are very happy with our stay here!

Although we opted to stay 2 days here for all the fun and adventure. We could have stayed one and fit it all in . Such a stunning place to stay . Historical sites but it does not hearing or A/c and the beds are not for the faint of heart. The mattresses might have been as old as the ship jk but seriously if the mattresss where more comfortable I could have been able to rest and do more . That’s ok I’m 54 and it comes with the territory. I am glad we experienced it but I probably couldn’t stay another night there because of the low comfort level of the bed. If you don’t like sleeping this is the place to stay. The walls in the rooms are paper thin. You will hear everything in the hallways, your neighbor, above you, etc. Bring ear plugs so you can sleep. Room was clean given how old it is and up-kept pretty well. The bar at the observatory deck has a great view but drinks are not great. Had dirty martinis that straight tasted like sea water. Staff was ok. They won’t go above and beyond but you are staying at 3 star hotel so that should just be assumed.

The room we stayed in the bed was broken and we slept at a slant. The bar area was ok but limited picking when it comes to different seltzer or beers, and also not enough seating for the amount of people that were there for a Cruise the next day.

Staff was very attentive. They had people help with our luggage. The room didn't have a minifridge as I had requested which had to be brought in for an extra charge. There was no microwave in the room or coffee maker. Did come with 2 free bottles of water. There was only 1 wash cloth upon arrival. I had to ask for more at the front desk for my husband and I. Bartender was rude and drinks were overpriced for the quality. Staff was closing the outdoor area early despite customers still being on the observation deck during buisness hours. Room was clean and temperature was fine having access to open window ports. We enjoyed the Haunted stay and had a few paranormal experiences in the hotel room. Beautiful ship. Bed was comfy.

Upon check-in, we were told there was a strict 10 o’clock noise curfew. We were also told that there were two events that night. What we were not told was that the curfew only applied to guests and not the events. As a result we had pounding music echoing through our two state rooms until after midnight. It made for a miserable night and significantly diminished our experience.

We enjoyed the quaintness of the hotel, food quality, tours of the historic aspects, and the new speakeasy. However, we had terrible service at the restaurant -- we couldn't find anyone when we needed additional sauces or to get more coffee... The rooms are also a bit dated (in an old way rather than a quaint way), though we did have plenty of blankets to keep me warm on a chilly night.

It was such a unique experience staying aboard a mostly original ship. Walking through the corridors and public rooms genuinely felt like stepping back in time; probably the closest most of us will ever get to experiencing the atmosphere of the Titanic. We also had great food at both the Promenade Café and the Chelsea Chowder House — everything we ate was delicious. The only downside, which was completely out of the staff’s control, was that the room temperature couldn’t really be adjusted and it was very cold at times. We were also gutted to miss seeing the original first class dining room, as it was either closed for an event or only accessible through a specific tour that we unfortunately didn’t have time to do. Overall though, such a memorable stay and somewhere we’d absolutely recommend for the history, atmosphere and experience alone.

We had breakfast in the ship overlooking the harbor. The food was good. The waiter was not very attentive. We had to call other waiters to get our waiter for a coffee refill. He gave us our coffee refill and left the check on the table. No word from him at all. We even had to call the busser to bring us a to go box. We tipped him $10 for his friendly service. Even though the service from the waiter was not good, we still tipped him 18%. We figured he must be having a bad day. Overall, I give it a four star.

As seasoned cruisers we enjoyed our say on the QM. She’s an elegant lady. The staff was helpful and our suite was spotless. Our major concern stems from the alleged first class lounge, The Observation Bar. Patrons were allowed to scream and howler to their hearts content and at the cost of responsible parties. At another table, a patron was passed out in a chair! Really!!’ This was definitely unsettling. You must do better at managing your staff as well as your customers.

The rooms were just too cold. My inlaws had to move hotels because it was so cold and the showers were too difficult for my father in law to navigate. The hotel has such potential and though we were in a newly 'renovated' room, it had a 1990s feel still. Just seems a bit shabby for such a historic and beautiful ship. The step overs in the rooms should maybe be marked or evened out as they are a hazard. Nothing seems really clean. Walls have marks and chips from either the top down to the bottom, frayed carpet, inside closets are dirty and old. Just wasn't worth the price and we got them a different hotel after two nights. I've stayed here before and found it a bit worn down. For the parking, no food included this was a bit dear.

The ship is isolated so you can’t really walk to other places to eat, and the restaurants are tired and overpriced. Gym is small and not well equipped. Our only regrets were a couple of unexpected things. First, we were standing near the horn when it went off. Do not stand near it when it sounds. They do post the times, but I had no idea just how loud it would be. It startled all of us and hurt our ears. I wish there had been a clearer warning about how loud it would be. Second, we ate at the Promenade Cafe. The prices were high, which would have been fine if the food quality matched the cost. Unfortunately, the food was very plain and lacked flavor. In addition, our waiter did not appear clean or well groomed, which made us feel uncomfortable about the overall cleanliness and food handling. It made the dining experience much less enjoyable. Aside from those two issues, we really did enjoy exploring the ship. It was a fun and memorable experience, and we are glad we did it. However, it is probably a one time visit for us.

We had the family suite and it didn’t disappoint! It was roomy, clean, warm enough and cozy! As the friendly front desk staff will warn you - the walls are very thin so you will hear everything from the hallway and the adjacent rooms. The experience is one of a kind! Very pleasant and filled with history! If you are visiting on a Sunday plan ahead and reserve the Royal Sunday Brunch - it’s worth it! Our 5 year old was excited to sleep with the ghosts but no one visited us :)

What a wonderful experience to stay in a 91-year-old treasure. From the front desk staff, ticketing staff, volunteer workers, and the serving staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. For those who rate this a bad experience you have to remember it's old ship and that's what gives it it's charm. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel with new amities, then pay more and stay someone where else. It's a most stay for those taking a cruise.

We loved being able to explore the ship on our own at our leisure at all hours — it felt like having the whole ship to ourselves. 10/10 for such a unique and historic experience! (The rooms do get COLD though so bring warm pajamas and ask for an extra blanket and then you'll sleep very comfortably.)

Loved staying at the Queen Mary, takes you back in time, this ship also reminds me of my first time cruising from Europe to NYC on the SS United States, so for me the nostalgia on being on these older ships are definitely worthwhile. Brings me to running down the hallways, watching movies, going swimming as a youth,. The room and the open porthole was wonderful. The bed was comfortable, loved seeing the telephones inside the stateroom and the polished wood. And the food served there especially the clam chowder, oh gosh even breakfast was amazing. Every staff member that I came in contact with was great! They were friendly, VERY HELPFUL and attentive. They were not bothered by questions, or us needing things, and had wonderful dispositions. It's the perfect place to stay if you're going on a Carnival cruise from the port. You can walk to the ship if you like, or there is a service provided to take you and your bags over to the ship. The room was spacious, not all of them are.Our room was a stateroom facing the harbor, we could see Long Beach, the water, and the activity out on the water. It was wonderful. I loved having the port hole windows that opened. We left ours open all night! The room was clean. We called the front desk a few ties with questions, and they were friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. They brought us a fan! <3 !! 5 Stars! PS: You don't control the A/C or heat in your room. The buffet in the Promenade was full and fresh. It had plenty of options. The wait staff was wonderful! There was so much to see and do, but we were only there for 1 night. I loved all of the pictures and displays with the history of the ship. The model ships were FANTASTIC! There were lots of places for Photo Ops. Wonderful place, I would stay again. We did not take any of the tours, but LOTS of people on the ship did and they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I get we all have personal issues no one is exempt, but why should my husband and myself have to pay the consequences for what’s going on else where. Dinner alone gets a 5 star excellent . Room nice NO HOT WATER TEMP was at cold cold there was no happy medium NO REMEDY. For the price the establishment charges it was not worth it all all. Motel 8 at least has clean room hot shower.

One might think this is authenticity, but there is a 52 inch television that takes up half the wall. The window didn’t seal properly. It was freezing cold. The toilet sits so low my mother actually injured herself and we had to do a report and ended up checking out early. Do not recommend at all.

Of note: -The ship is extremely large. If you have limited mobility or a medical condition that makes walking difficult, be aware that getting around can be physically taxing. -At check-in, we were given a key to a non-existent room. After walking the entire M floor, we returned to the front desk. Three staff members insisted the room existed before finally correcting it. Staff should be familiar with their own room layout. -The bathroom was so old that it didn't appear to be clean. To be expected with such an old ship, but something to keep in mind. -As noted, THE WALLS ARE UNBELIEVABLY THIN. We heard every conversation, including explicit activity from the guests next door, from 12-2am, which frankly traumatized my 15-year-old daughter. -The front desk was non-responsive to the noise issue. After unsuccessfully attempting to resolve it ourselves, we ultimately left at 230am to stay elsewhere. -Finding the ship and parking was strange. Be cautious if you tend to get lost or easily confused. Unfortunately, this experience has tainted my daughter’s impression of the ship, and she is unlikely to return. I recommend not staying there overnight and finding another hotel in the area. I can't speak to the tours as I'm sure they are lovely, and that's the only reason I would return.

The room was very nice and clean. This was our second stay, hopefully someday there will be a third. The food was very good. The only suggestion I have is that you ask your late arrivals to keep their voices down. Other guests are sleeping. I realize that it is out of the Queen Mary’s control how people behave. Noisy people woke us up and I was unable to get back to sleep for several hours, it’s hard to enjoy my stay when people are so inconsiderate. The history and pictures are amazing and interesting.

When we arrived, we notified the staff that my husband had a recent knee injury and we asked for a room as close as possible since he is using a walker. They accommodated the request which meant he had less walking to do. Staff are all very professional and helpful. We have stayed here multiple times now, and will continue to make this our go-to hotel when we cruise out of Long Beach.

The hotel, view, restaurant and ambiance were top notch. However, the thin walls between hotel rooms/cabins made for a long night as the couple next door were VERY LOUD and once they finished their sexual escapades, the sound of snoring could be heard throughout the night.

Check in staff pleasant.Wait staff not so much. Rooms were very clean. Did not like being at the end of the ship because it made the bed slope so my feet were higher than my head. Beds are hard. Cannot control heat or air. Luckily the porthole windows opened and there were no mosquitoes. The port hole windows gave us a lovely view of 100’s of potra potties. Did not like that they had some huge concert venue there the night before so we had to be dropped off quite a ways away and schlep our luggage over all kinds of obstacles. When we came into port a week later another concert was being set up. Probably will not stay there again. I would not like to be staying when they are playing some loud music to all hours of the night.

Ok, so the Queen Mary is vintage and that means vintage smells, vintage walls, vintage lighting, etc but the water, linens, service, etc were impecable. I had an absolutely fabulous time exploring the ship, solo, from the bridge to the communication room and everything in-between. A novice to history I was enthralled with the link to America's and found the photos fascinating especially the Queen's.

It was a very unique nice experience. Dinner was very good (vegetables were barely cooked) but very expensive. Service was outstanding. Breakfast was very good; again, expensive. It was fun to explore and learn about the ship. Bed was a little too firm. Walls are very thin which they warn you about. Our neighbors were 20 somethings at a Marine ball. They really weren't too loud but with tjose walls and them talking till 4am it affected our sleep. Standing in the bathtub was very unstable feeling as it curves. Not a flat foot sized spece to feel stable.

I was never given a free breakfast nor information on where to acquire it. The room had vomit on the door. Parking lot was rented to a rave even and it was chaos in the flooded lot with no help to locate a way into the ship. I twisted my ankle in a hole outside in the flooded lot. I WAS SPLASHED by a golf cart zipping by. I was cold... wet..Injured.. exhausted & couldnt enjoy the bar or hotel museums due to being asked yo checl out before 10am or we would be towed? For the event needing the parking??

Keep in mind that you are staying in an antique property and that standards were different when the ship was retired in 1967. If you are expecting all the modern amenities you will be disappointed but the public areas of the ship more than make up for it.

I rated this stay EXCELLENT because the ship is truly living history. Let me set your expectations; one electrical outlet in the bathroom, paper thin walls, not sure if there is air conditioning but the room was perfect with one of my portholes open, 2 bottles of water, 2 towels/2 hand/2 face towels. This is a luxury stay if you are ready to experience ocean traveling from almost a century ago. The ship truly is extraordinary and facinating because the majority of the ship has been meticulously maintained and serves as a hotel and museum experience. Carnival Cruise pier is located (2025) right next to it….perfect place to stay and walk over to your cruise ship. Princess Cruise pier was a few miles away ($40 USD taxi ride). The staff….ALL OF THEM….were friendly, helpful, efficient, accommodating and most are absolutely in love with their job and are walking historians!! The Scorpion-class WW2 submarine next to it was a laughing touch of irony in my mind….WW2 history buffs will get it. Officer Paul Jaczek has been walking this ship’s decks for 50 years and is an expert on The Queen Mary and Titantic and loves to answer questions and share! Look for a man that is dressed like a Captain, resembles both Santa Claus and Captain Edward Smith (Titantic Captain) and has the cheeriest and most adorable grin and laugh on board!!! If you are wanting modern luxury amenities, you’ll be disappointed. This is a once in a lifetime experience for those that want to time travel!!

We could not have dinner at either their fancy restaurant or the more casual, Chelsea. The first restaurant said it’s a 2-3 hour reservation wait time, and they recommended to go to a more causal one “Chelsea”.. when we got there, THEY said it was a 2 hour wait. I feel it should be a part of the accommodations to leave some tables reserved for hotel guests for our experience. We had to go out in the RAIN to find somewhere to eat. Then we were expecting some type of entertainment BESIDES a bar. Bring that we don’t drink alcohol, Nothing else was available. I don’t think we will suggest this to anyone.

Overall I am grateful to have had the chance to stay here. Upon checking in, there was confusion regarding the resort fee-I had believed hotels.com included all feed in the price, that should be amended between hotels.com and the properties they choose go feature. While I wish there were more amenities in the room, I did find the bed quite comfortable. Dinner at the Promenade was amazing. Unfortunately, breakfast was a bit so-so, our food came out cold in the center. Exploring the historic exhibits and conducting our own version of a paranormal investigation was what truly made our stay worth it.

It was fine because of its proximity to the cruise port. The room was warm, they brought a fan that was iffy, had to fidget with buttons to make it work. No regular milk at the coffee bar on first day or the next before we checked out. They said they offer a shuttle to cruise port but when we inquired were told they do have it but only when someone is available to do so. Was told we could just walk around the black netting containing the Halloween fair. Again, not a horrible stay but just not for us.
