Managerial staff added charges for “cleaning” when the room had not been visited by staff. Then attempted to extract those charges from Apple Pay without authorization or consultation of why the charges were applicable even though they did not appear on a printout of charges. Further, they added a pet fee for a service animal, something strictly forbidden by California law, and refused to refund the charge.

Have been trying to get a refund for our stay since Friday night. My son was given two different rooms and both were run down and filthy. Spider webs all over the place- dead bugs in the bed and pubic hair in the shower. The door didn’t lock either on the door. Very misleading ad. so bad he did not stay the night ended up having to go stay at a friends house. Brian told my son he could get a refund but the hotel won’t answer the phone to issue the refund.

There was no hot water in the room the morning I was getting ready to leave. Front desk told me maintenance had not yet arrived and to call the hotel manager later. He offered me a 20% refund on the room, but said it had to be coordinated through Expedia. When I called Expedia, they said it had to be refunded through the hotel. I gave up.

Had a room in the “tower” and got upgraded to a king suite on the 4th floor. The room was huge and it could have easily slept 4-6 ppl but it only had 1 bed and no sofa, you could get a fold up single mattress for $25 extra a night. The view was nice with two private balconies and views of the marina with all those nice boats and yachts. Walking distance to 2nd and PCH and Marina Pacifica. This was great because we had our choices of about a dozen different restaurants giving enough options to keep a wide variety of tastes satisfied. That and 4 groceries stores (Ralph’s, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Bristol Farms) all with 3-10 minute walk. Also close about a 3-5 minute drive was Belmont Shores 2nd St. if you are familiar with this section of Long Beach it’s always busy and in the daytime is usually more family friendly and stays that way until 10pm. Then the spots turn into bars/nightclubs and it can get real rambunctious especially when the booze starts flowing. The hotel needs an upgrade badly, just dated decor, furniture etc. But the rooms you can get for fairly cheap, and if you’re looking for a relaxed informal feel or have kids you want to let runaround this place, especially its pool setup is perfect. There’s another 2 story building that’s a huge rounded with rooms surrounding the courtyard pool which is centered inside the building and you can get a room with a balcony or patio and keep an eye on the family if they want to swim.

I dont know how this place has a 8.0 rating. The only thing decent was the area, and they have security patrol the grounds all night. Itt could be a decent place. But it needs updating rreal bad. Bed was comfortable, but the room was dirty. From just the walk to bed to bathroom and back left my feet black from the dirty floor.

The staff and location made this dilapidated hotel delightful. I walked my dog to a park on the water across the street which was gorgeous at sunset. The sunsets were breath taking. The hotel is old but we were not there to hang out at the hotel. But when we did have a few hours, we gathered in the cupola near the pool and it was a delightful space to chat.

I would give this hotel a 3/5. I would say the rooms definitely need a revamp compared to their competitors nearby. The beds were okay to sleep on. I would love to see more of a modernization and upkeep on color in the room. The bathroom does look more worn in. The likelihood of the family and I returning is low as we look for a more modern hotel.

Hotel needs a serious upgrade. There were long black hairs everywhere on the floors. Even in the “clean” towels. The shower was discusting. The shower curtain was torn, dirty and falling down. The bathtub mat was scary to even think of standing on. We had to shower so we put a towel down and wore our flop flops. The carpet and couch were filthy. Our socks were black after wearing them because we didn’t want to walk on the carpet. Unfortunately it was close to an appointment we had and will continue to have but we’ve had to mark this one off our list to stay.

Our stay was nice. The beds were really comfortable. Atmosphere was peaceful. The pool was clean and in working order. The hot tub was not useable. No elevator which sucked big time. The toilet wouldn't stop running, we had to fix it three times by taking the tank lid off which was gross. Both beds had very squeaky mattress springs that were incredibly noisy no matter what you did just sitting on the bed laying on the bed getting off and down on the bed. The air conditioner had this noise that would go into loud bursts then stop then short bursts then stop then just continue. I had to wear earplugs which hurt my ears because you just couldn't sleep between the air conditioner noise and the bed springs. the toilet kept running but we closed the bathroom door. When we had arrived there we couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV so I called the front desk they said the channel numbers don't work you can only change channel by upping the channel arrow up or down the channel arrow I asked for a guide and he said he would bring one over after 30 minutes I called back telling him to forget bringing the guide over didn't need it anymore. A very unpleasant stay at this hotel. Years ago when it was the Best Western it was really nice we've probably stayed at this place 4 or 5 times in the past. Never again.

Place virtually has no amenities. Barely even has functional coffee maker and fridge. Key cards took three to four attempts to get into rooms. A hotel seems like it's under construction but yet no signs. No no apologies. Toilet leaked tub virtually unusable due to cracking and peeling of clearly a very bad resurfacing paint attempt

There is a private club attached to this hotel nobody told us about. They put us in a room directly overhead of a massive private party that went until well past 2:00 a.m. -huge music, noise, food trucks, people hanging out in the courtyard. When we called down the front desk simply said the problem was with their sales team for booking the event and there was nothing they could do, but we could call the police if we wanted to. The property itself is old and outdated but the issue with the parties is unacceptable. We had to check out early and we are still seeking a refund.

Beds are comfortable, love that the remotes have a sleep timer. The "gym" is a joke wirh a barely functioning eliptical and a stationary bike, no treadmills. Coffee in room only decaf, no cofdee in lobby. Carpers in room lots of stains. Back area seems to be in a state of remodel with some painting and parking lot fenced off. Lots of trash in stairwell and very dark in back, did not love the room placement as a solo female traveler. Sexurity guard seen at the dront lobby area. Parking is free.

Only a three-day, two-night stay, the overall experience was great. The room was cozy, the beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. The double sinks in the room were interesting, but a bonus for when traveling with more than one person, yo don't have to wait for the restroom to be availble to use the sink. The kitchen nook with the microwave and fridge was perfect, with a decent counter space to store and heat up food during the night. The bathroom felt a little bit snuged when trying to open the door to get out and the water pressure could havebeen a bit more stronger. Overall, a worthwhile experience and would visit/stay again.

I liked the location of this hotel, the cost per night was decent as well. I travelled solo from Canada for the Warped Tour festival in Long Beach so this hotel wasn’t too far away (a short 10-15min uber ride) and was more on the cheaper side of options for the weekend in the area, if I wanted to stay somewhat close to where the festival was. Staff was friendly, helpful. The only minor negatives I have to say about the hotel is that it is clearly an old hotel. There’s cracks in the bath tub (at least in my room), the door to my room (375) the bracket piece was missing a screw and made it tricky to properly close the door. Not a huge deal, it didnt bother me enough to get it fixed. I just mentioned it at time of check out so they are aware of fixing it for the next visitor in that room. Again, no real negatives. Service was great, bed was comfortable, AC unit in my room worked very well, you get what you pay for in terms of the condition of the property.

We arrived on a Thursday. We chose this hotel primarily because of location. We knew it was an older hotel so we understood that. We weren’t prepared for the condition of the room. The electrical outlets were hanging from the walls, the popcorn ceiling was bubbled from old leaks, the fire sprinklers were hanging off the ceiling, the minute we turned on the ac the vent fell off, there was almost no water pressure in the shower, the entire building smelled old and damp. We were told we’d have a marina view and while yes we could see some boats we were looking at the parking lot, the roof of the lower building and some industrial plant. We booked the room in March and thought the price seemed fair but after the first night we checked out and changed hotels. I reported the issues to the front desk upon check out. I was very nice about it and asked if they could possibly refund the 2nd night since we couldn’t stay there. I was barely acknowledged, told I’d be sent a receipt and that was it. I never received the receipt and the charge for the room reflects no refund. Don’t stay here…the website and pictures makes this a total bait and switch.

The pictures advertised for the room were extremely misleading. The actual room was old and with many obvious repairs needed. Quite dirty bedroom and bathroom, grout, corners, and baseboards specifically. I was honestly grossed out and felt bamboozled.

The hotel is nice but needs upgrades. The shower flow is very slow and barely feels like a shower.

Negatives: The moment we walked into our room, we were hit with an overpowering odor that should have sent us right back to the front desk. But it was late, we were exhausted, and we figured it would fade. It didn’t. The smell only intensified over time—sour, acrid, sewage-like, and deeply unsettling. By the second night, it was so unbearable we had to call the front desk. They sent someone up with a green spray, which did not reduce the smell. No offer to move us, no concern about the air quality, just a quick squirt and good luck. Whatever is going on in this room, it needs to be investigated by management . I think the carpet is just absolutely filthy and the putrid smell permeates everything. My son thought it might’ve been the toilet because it smelled sewage like, but I don’t think it was that. Also, both of the sinks are very slow to drain so they must be clogged.

It is not a clean place. Front desk people were great but overall the hotel is beat, from the furniture to the paint, sidewalks etc. The pool area looked nice from a distance. How it got a "8.0 Very Good" review I do not know. It does not seem honest.

It’s close to the Long Beach Airport (LGB) and close to the campus so that was really convenient. Didn’t cost a fortune with Uber fees. Door Dash delivered to us multiple times just met them in the lobby. Staff were really nice. I’d stay there again.

I came in at night. They first put me in a room just by the foot of the stairs. I asked if they could move me. I was traveling on my own and I didn’t feel safe. They decided to accompany me at the back area of the building where it was dark. I went in again and asked if there was any other room. The 2 front desks said all is occupied. So I said ok, I’ll take the room by the stairs then. When I came to the door, it smelled terribly like pee. I thought maybe it’s just because it was by the stairs. I went in and the room stinks with pee bad. It went all the area on the front entrance, where they located the microwave and fridge and reached all the way to the bathroom. The carpet was also filthy. I searched for a different hotel fixed on moving and cancelling my reservation. Mind you, the rate of the hotel was similar to a sister hotel of the Marriott. I thought better to pay $10 more, maybe the Marriott is better. So I went down and asked to cancel. The room was disappointing. I saw that the other rooms by the pool were empty. When it’s my turn, they tried to tell me they will see if they accommodate me to a better room the next day. Then one of the male front desk checked and told me there was another room. And he even said it was the room within the lobby building, 2nd floor. They choose to accommodate guest at a crappy room for the same price.

You want to on the property? It's very nice. The garbage on our patio also entering the room fairly dirty. But the room was very plain and nice so that bypassed everything else. And everybody that worked there was very nice. I would still recommend this hotel.

The staff were very welcoming. We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday at the adjoining facility. The decor is a bit outdated, but it was very clean and maintained.

I had to make four trips upstairs and back down before I received keycards that worked. The housekeeper on the second floor was incredible and tried her best to help me get into my room. When I asked the front desk clerk to waive my parking fee and switch me to a different room, his response of, “oh, we have a list of demands, do we?” was inappropriate and an incredibly rude way to interact with a guest. At least the housekeeper on the second floor understood what hospitality means as she helped me to the best of her ability. The property needs to invest in a major update. The usb charging ports on the clock radio did not work

The outside does not look appealing, and the inside looks like run down barocks. I mean, you can stay there, but it is not updated in any way, shape or form. I didn't feel safe, that sums it up.

The pictures make it look way better than it is. The spa was closed. No heated pool like advertised. No Bell Hop! If you need a room with elevator access you must pay more. Then you don't get a balcony unless you PAY EVEN MORE! The beds are old and uncomfortable. The shower hot water only lasted for 3 min no matter what time of day it was. If you have to stay you will be fine but it you can find another hotel please do so!!!
