Enjoyed our stay. Clean room, close to quite a few places to eat and do things. Only wish we had a microwave in the room. All in all,

The room was a little disappointing. It seemed to be not as well taken care of as the lobby and pool. We did enjoy our stay though!

2 things about this hotel that would keep me from staying there again. First, the elevator situation is terrible. With only 1 elevator, guests were forced to use the single service elevator. I had to make it difficult for the staff to do their jobs, when the elevator they need it full of guests. And secondly, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in, in recent memory. It was long past its life. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep well.

Everything was fine and great customer service.

Again, they ladies were top notch, but I presumed maybe a complementary drink at the bar while we waited or a comped room service drink order once we checked in...and they did ask, but were told no because we were technically early. But, it was over an hour after check in time when we received the call the room was ready. Im not asking for a refund or complaining about the actual stay but, it ruined the moment persay and we felt ...outside of the front desk employees... we were not compensated even with something small...to reconcile the inconvenience. Other equally nice hotels would have offered something to show gratitude. We didn't make a scene and would go back...but I believe the customer service was lacking in that area. Thank you. Unfortunately, the elevators has some issues during our stay!

The room were pretty clean. It’s just the patio was pretty gross. There was like this green stuff all over it. The outdoor furniture was really gross in the front of the building and in the room I love staying at this hotel. I stayed at it a couple times because it has a great location, but the quality has gone down a little bit. When we went down to the pool, there were two couples having sex in front of their kids in the water which was very gross and they didn’t get kicked out. They just got told to stop. There’s no free breakfast. I think it’s $16 a person and it’s not that good of food I think it’s ridiculous that you have to pay $16 for food that you can get for free at any other hotel because and its nothing special but the staff are super helpful and super nice this hotel has so much potentialllllll

We had a wonderful stay this weekend at South Shore Harbor Resort. The facility and the room was very clean. All staff were friendly and attentive. The only thing I would note is that you are not able to charge a lot of things to your room like the pool bar/restaurant and that was inconvenient carrying our credit card everywhere. Besides that, great stay!

This hotel is so pretty.. the view from our window was amazing. The lights went out briefly and they handled everything so well. Everyone was so kind, from the front desk to the cleaning staff and room service. We will be back

Super nice place. All of the staff were fantastic. The location was great and close to so many places. The rooms were very clean. Parking was excellent. The beds were not super comfortable, and the water pressure in our room was poor, but it was still a great place to stay.

The entire experience That I couldn't swim anytime I wanted to Because that swimming pool right next to the marina , and that beautiful hotel is awesome.

After waiting for quite some time without receiving any call, we returned to the front desk to ask for an update. We were then told that the room had already been ready and that a staff member had called us, but that nobody answered. This was extremely frustrating because I never received any phone call, voicemail, or missed-call notification. Having to wait three hours past the official check-in time was already disappointing, but being told that we had been contacted when we clearly had not made the experience even more frustrating. The lack of communication and accountability significantly impacted our first impression of the hotel.

The room was very spacious. The pool was happening with sim up bar and dj. We didnt like that we didnt have access to the main elevators. We only had one on the side and the staff elevator.

One elevator was out, so they opened up the staff one. I really enjoyed and would like to go back.

Visiting Galveston for the first time and decided to stay at this hotel as it was close to all of our planned excursions. We had a problem with the shower curtain smelling VERY musty so we called the front desk for about 15 minutes with no answer. Finally had to just go down and ask for a new one which they gave us but it made us feel like the rooms weren’t being cleaned thoroughly. We also found old flower petals under the sink from a past guest. The elevators were broken all weekend so waiting for the ONE working one was frustrating for everyone. There was also a water leak in the room with the ice machine so filling up our small cooler in a puddle was gross but it dried up by the last day. I will say the view from our room was beautiful and front desk staff was helpful. Overall this hotel needs a better maintenance team FOR SURE! It’s such nice area and the views are great but lack of maintenance keeps this hotel from getting 5 stars from me.

The hotel is close to everything. The only thing negative was that one of their main elevators wasn’t working and there were only two being used. They offered the service elevators used by the employees but it wasn’t enough especially during checkout time. I have to use the stairway.

We left room about 9 and put placard on door for "room service". Didn't happen. Next day my wife went to desk for towels and ask about room cleaning. He shrugged and said they are understaffed and we should have called them. He was not very professional in his reply/response and said room would be cleaned after we left?! With one elevator, it took 20 minutes to be able to leave because of full elevator. I really hate leaving bad reviews but this hotel has some issues. Maybe we didn't get a good room because of booking third party? Hopefully not. Management needs to review what guests are being told. Broken elevators on first weekend of summer? No recourse for bad experience? If you check, I am one to give great reviews for great experiences.

We have stayed here many times for over 20 years and never been disappointed.

More communication about the timing of Sunday brunch. I sat there and listened to other guests get told to come back for brunch as breakfast was ending. No one told me that so I had a subpar breakfast - the grits were hard, the eggs cold, there was one piece of bacon. Very disappointing to cost as much as it did. If I was made aware about brunch I would have waited. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. I was supposed to have a Lakeview room but that was a joke! The pool and the staff out there were amazing Kassandra made sure I was taken care of at every turn!

Bartenders on Saturday night were amazing and helpful. They closed at 11 PM but still made sure we were set for the night and didn’t need anything else. Housekeeping was very sweet as well.

The stay was great, but the property is definitely in need of renovation. The rooms were outdated and ran down.

There was zero water view - I got to look out over the convention center ac units in a basically empty hotel - there were multiple other rooms available - I was offered to move but we were only there one night - Kitchen and room service - the porter was sweet - the room service food was AWFUL- I ordered the least effort item on the menu - chicken tenders and fries. What I received was dried out chicken and steak fries that appeared to have been prepared the day before and left under a heat lamp. The front desk staff was friendly and kindly listened to my complaint - and offered free breakfast (so have some additional substandard food) as compensation. The pool was nice but a little messy - Overall, I would recommend staying anywhere else.

bed bugs!! Looks like they have that issues alot ! we got bite on first night. We reported to front desk on 05-14-2026 and they have no idea. On next day we found bed bugs in bed so I call and report the accident, in 2 minutes they showed up to my room 508 manager Jung Wu and another 2 girls with keys for another room 322. Looks like they have that issue before but the manager don't want talk about it and they told us they have to heat up to get the bugs away. We move to room 323 and we found out there is someone in that room already after they gave us keys for it. We want down to front desk and we have no idea what to do! They move us again for room 1001 and gave us one day breakfast and manager said he will return last night pay to us by Expedia. After that we return to front desk asked them for accident report and try to speak to manager to found out what happened they said the manager will reach out to me and he never did. I keep call them and spoke to front desk looks like he don't want talk to us until we left and I call them another 4 times still he don't want talk to me and he never fix the pay and give me the accident report

There were pubic hairs in the tub. We had two queen beds and they were extremely uncomfortable. They were very lumpy and hard. The floor would have been more comfortable. Out patio was very dirty. It needed a good pressure washing. The concrete was black. The pool was worse, the entire pool area was filthy. It made the bottom of my feet black. That definitely needs a good pressure washing. We go there every year and have never had any issues at all. It's very unfortunate that we had all these issues. Mostly we got zero sleep because of the uncomfortable beds. We will probably not be going back.

They tried their best with breakfast, a buffet personally could be better stocked and somewhat cheaper for the small variety.

Property is very clean. The staff is attentive and very courteous. The pool is very nice and big. My only issue was that the lift to get someone in a wheelchair into the water did not have the battery to operate it installed. It took about 40 minutes to finally get the battery installed ands working. At the end was able to go for a swim and enjoyed it. The manager and the handyman were very attentive and apologetic. I appreciated their efforts. Overall, i would stay again at the property.

Pool was very nice staff working the pool bar were very friendly. I could see. Maintained in the next couple of years it will start to deteriorate and not be the greatest to.. I did not like the idea that anyone else the parking lot could just walk in and use the pool for the day during the mid week.

The staff at this property are the most friendly and helpful that I've come across! I have stayed here 3 times, and they are consistently polite and helpful, from the front desk to the restaurant, all are well trained and they SMILE! Any issues that I may have had with the property would be minimized by the amazing attitudes of the staff. The hotel is a bit older, but in good shape and well kept. The pool is very nice and the restaurants are all good. Rooms are comfy & mostly quiet.

The first room I was in the shower didn’t drain and flooded the bathroom. The rooms have been attempted to have been updated, but the building itself felt very out dated. The room I got moved to hadn’t been cleaned all the way, the trash cans were full and dirty linens on the counter still. The 3rd room was decent but there had been no spider mitigation of the balcony’s or pool area. The coworker I traveled with was also given an uncleaned room on his check-in and had other issues during the stay.

The bartenders at the hotel bar that worked Saturday night (young guy ) and (young hispanic female) really made the hotel experience 10x better for us. The hotel is nice but not much going on so the fact that they went the extra mile to entertain and be friendly really made the stay better for us. The food was really good I’d recommend this hotel if you are with family or just need to relax .

The bathroom was very small and not well equipped. There was no room for hanging napkins or towels. The toiletries were too small. Although, the cleaning staff replenished the towels and napkins they did not take away the used ones.

The walls are very thin! I heard every conversation, every alarm, every door closing. The room was clean but my view was of a concrete roof and the ceiling above the toilet was full of water and ready to burst at any moment. The property needs some work.

I would say it’s a very old hotel and a bit over rated. location wasn’t that great not much to do in area

The bed was comfortable. Room seemed clean but when we went to use a glass it still had water in it. Even with the paper top on it. Made me second guess the true cleanliness of the room. The shower has soap residue on everything like it had barely been cleaned. We didn’t eat at the restaurants they didn’t really have anything we wanted. We stayed here on our wedding night in 1989 and it was so much nicer then. Now it’s just mediocre. There was a big wedding going on and they took over the whole lobby. The elevators were very slow. Staff was very friendly.

Wonderful stay. Front desk, housekeeping, and room service all polite and amazing. 💕. I had left my diamond ring and they found it and held it for me. So grateful. Pool was very clean , had some ants around the chairs but no biggie. The pool bar is only open on the weekends. I enjoy my stays here.

The issue with this hotel is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear the room next door at normal conversation level and the room across the hallways TV. Also, every door opening and closing down the hallway. We were on an upper floor and the water pressure was pulsing off and on which impacted the temperature of the shower.

Excellent property and staff

Honestly, I'm still not sure how I feel about this hotel. From the moment I walked through the front doors, there was no hello, welcome, be with you in a moment, anything of the sort. I spent about ten minutes getting checked in, ignored for most of the initial five minutes. Normally I would've addressed this, but it was 10:30 P.M. and I was tired after a long day of driving. So I let it slide, but I soon realized that the staff were completely out of sorts, had called the police for a disturbance on the property, and one guests came barreling through yelling at the staff about his wife, as he rolled his luggage out towards the side entrance/exit. Finally, one of the men, asked for my name. Still no official greeting, just down to business. Obviously both men are annoyed by whatever has been going on prior to my arrival. I asked him a few questions about the property and he answered, but still no apology or Greeting. As I was heading outside to move my car three officers came in to address whatever had been going on. I let it go, and moved on. First night was pretty uneventful after that. Second night, the place was packed and it was hard to find parking. They had an event onsite, it is a resort/convention setting, so just keep that in mind. Never saw the pool, didn't have time. Mattresses could be much better. Other signs of aging in the interior rooms. But staff was definitely the first red flag.

That is really the only good thing we experienced. Our room was very dated. We didn't have any form of soap in the bathroom, except for body wash. I had to go downstairs to get soap to wash our hands. We didn't have shampoo either. Good thing I had an extra in my bag. Pillows were probably the worse I have experienced. We asked for a couple more and they were no better. We stayed here the day before a cruise departure because the pictures looked great and the price was good. Next cruise out if Galveston, we will pick a different place.

Nice outdoor pool with a bar

I travel extensively! I LOVE this hotel! Expertly nestled on the tip of the bay. With great amenities, pool area, overall grounds well manicured and most importantly it's CLEAN, with a superb staff! Specifically, Monica is AMAZING!!! I'm torn, because I want to HIGHLY recommend but I don't want it to be full when I need it! ;-) If you are in the area. This place will NOT disappoint.

Thr hotel was very nice entering. Guest Service was not as friendly they made me feel like I did not belong there. The food from the restaurants were very good. The hallways stepping off the elevator smelled like mildew/old water. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom was very out dated. The shower walls had mold in certain crevices. I absolutely hated the cloth shower curtains and it's as if a pipe in the shower was leaking from the ceiling of the shower which had a leak stain on the wall in the shower. The pool was very big and beautiful.

I LOVE this place- the room rates are affordable, the staff is friendly, there is a steak house on site… my favorite part is having access to the Marina Rec Center.

We went there as a family of 8 adults to celebrate my aunt and uncle 20th anniversary. The staff help set the table inside their restaurant with gift bags etc that my aunt and uncle brought. The restaurant itself was very nice our waitress Emily was wonderful and just very pleasant to have. The pool was AMAZING!! I love that they played music snd the vibes it gave. The swim up bar was perfect to make our pool time more enjoyable. One thing was the kids that played around and on the bar stools. I could tell that some adults weren’t so excited about that but it didn’t bother me much. Only thing I would say about the pool is that I wish they had a pool net nearby to collect the leaves, bugs and plastic that were floating around. For the room I truly adored it. Upon arriving the bathroom faucet stopper was jam. After informing the front desk a Service Tech came and repaired it immediately. The staff were really helpful and kind with checking in and other small details. I will most definitely be returning for another visit!

The pool was very cold. The fitness center pools that were down the road were occupied by lessons and swim teams and the hot tub was freezing cold. Plumbing was not great in our room and the phone didn't work. It was a safe, clean, friendly staff, and great price, but would not stay there again.

Room was clean and in good condition. Only downfall of this hotel was that one of the elevators was "out of order" which caused longer wait times.

I requested to be moved to another room last night because there were bugs in the room i was staying at. The room was 304. The A/C was not working properly.I took pictures if you’d like i can share them. I was moved to another room 504, which was better because there were no bugs, however the level of noise from the adjacent room made it for a difficult night sleep. It sounded like someone was throwing furniture against the wall through to the morning hours. It was not a very pleasant experience. Instead of submitting a derogatory review, i wanted to make you aware and give you the opportunity to correct the situation.

Staff was great the room is outdated the tv is old with not streaming options and the ac thermostat does not work it will only blow cold and loud it got pretty cold while we where there and could not turn heater on

Attentive staff, quiet room, and excellent dining!

Immediate smell of mildew from the shower curtain. hVAC system never turned off and we listened to it throughout the night while it never reached the desired temperature of only 70 degrees. Otherwise, staff was friendly enough, average I would say.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Clean rooms, courteous staff. Great food and drinks at the Opus Bistro.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t fully satisfied with my stay. The shower did not drain properly, causing water to pool instead of draining. Additionally, we expected a kingsize bed, but the bed provided was a queen

The room was sub-standard. The A/C didn't work properly keeping the room cold. The toilet seat wwas somehow glued to the lid. The shower mixer leaked so bad that it had been cranked closed instead of replacing the O rings making it nearly impossible to turn on. The lobby was nice, but we tried to order drinks, and we were the only customers. It took the bar tender 15 minutes or more to make a White Russian and a Lemon drop. When we checked out they refused to give us a printed receipt. At checkin we were told that the room incidentals deposit would be returned at checkout, and at checkout we were told it would be returned in 2-5 business days. The room was at a Motel 6 level and the customer service was a bit dismissive.

This hotel was so beautiful they had it decorated for the holidays and I was upgraded to a free suite after asking to check in early which the front desk lady was happy to accommodate that! It was so nice to relax earlier than expected! My only complaint about this hotel was the slight smell in our room and the fact the cold air would not work

We stayed for just a night for a cousins birthday. The hotel staff is extremely nice and attentive, the whole place was so clean, it’s in a nice area, quiet at night while you sit on the balcony and watch the water. We will be staying here again!!

Everything was great. My only critique is more in the upkeep department. Ice machine area on the 9th floor was messy.. wet floor sign in the middle of the floor.. we could tell there's a problem with the standing water but instead of repairing maintenance is choosing to just place a wet floor sign.

First we would like to thank the kind staff! You guys always treat us so well! A few suggestions, Bathroom fixtures need to be updated. Towels are not soft and would like to see bathrobes. We love making this our coastal stop and they do a great job with restaurants and service.

Yes, the balcony had a nice view. The only issue was that the balcony held the rain water and we were not able to use it, due to the 2 inches of standing water.

The pool is the best things about this place. Rooms are dated. Had 2 rooms during our stay. Toilet ran constantly in one and AC fan was crazy loud in the other. Employees were rude when asking for pool towels. Our entire family hated the pillows on the bed. Minimal elevators despite the size of this hotel meant you are always waiting for the elevator.

overall it is your average hotel with conference space. There was NO HOT WATER! Had to take a cold shower and heard my neighbors saying same, and they were a large family. They don’t throw in breakfast so I am not super thrilled. Just meh because I had a good time

My stay was Awesome! The Staff is very friendly and professional. The Hotel, is and older hotel, but they have did some upgrades, but Bathrooms are very small, but nice. The Hotel, is very clean. The outdoor pool is very nice also. I love the view of the waterfront of the Bay. Yes, I would loved to stay there again . Excellent place.

The rooms was very clean. I stayed in the executive suite. I heard no outdoor traffic and the hallways were quiet at night, even through there were multiple events happening. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but that may be due to our pickiness. All staff we encountered was very friendly. There is plenty of parking. They have a parking garage, but if you have a vehicle over six feet you will not fit! All in all it was a good stay

Wife and I had a getaway and found a great deal on this location. The room was clean and service was great. Staff very helpful and polite. Our room had a balcony overlooking the lake. Located outside the main hustle and bustle of touristy area but.close enough for convenience. Really enjoyed the stay, pool, and restaurants. Recommend checking it out!!

Their pool is one of the most sublime pools we’ve seen since we visited the Houston area. The room we had, had a great view with a balcony and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet.

The hotel was clean and tastefully updated, and the staff and service were outstanding. I recommend this place if you want to relax and enjoy nice views of the Marina.

The pool area is awesome. It reminds me of a Las Vegas resort pool. Swim up bar and live DJ. And the rates are very reasonable.

This hotel has a great location and the rooms are decent looking. The hotel is showing its age though. The walls are thin, so I could hear the next room and their television. The drain in the bathtub didn’t work well so the bathtub filled with water while taking a shower. This was reported the first day but wasn’t fixed. The custom service at the check in desk was just okay. Not sure I would label this place a resort. If they want that title, they need to level up some things.

SCAM ALERT: Do not get the premium internet, service is so bad even loading a website wouldnt work. One speed test reading we 2.6kbps!!! The hotel said they aren't responsible for the wifi because they outsource it. When I called the company they had no idea what to do to fix the service. I asked for a refund but the service company said only the hotel could authorize it, I asked the hotel for a refund and they said the opposite. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL.

Everytime I visit kemah my husband and I always stay here. The rooms are big plus you get a great view of the ships or the pool or you get lucky and get a great view of both. Love the restaurant, staff and the rooms. This is the best hotel in kemah

Front staff was so friendly. room service was at 10. I would highly recommend staying at South Shore Harbor. The atmosphere at the outside pool and bar was incredible. Drinks were right on spot . Bartender was very kind .

Overall, the property location, staff, food & drinks were fine. I liked the convenience of the featured sip and sail activities right from the dock of the resort. However, it is time for the hotel rooms to be upgraded. The rooms are outdated. The bathrooms are tiny and there's rusty in some areas of the tub. The toilets flush slowy and the water in the sink and tub also drain very slow. The lighting in the bathroom area is extremely dim.

Our family has found a new spot for a getaway. This place was beautiful and such a great atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and professional. Close to Kemah and the Space Center. Several food options in the area. We really didn't have to leave the hotel to enjoy ourselves. We will definitely be back again.

The view from our room was great. We enjoyed the pool. It was a shame that we couldn’t charge the drinks to our room. The staff was very nice and helpful. I recommend that the bottled water to be provided in the rooms. We had to walk from one end of the floor to the other side to get our water from the machine. It was not very convenient. Other than that we enjoyed staying at this hotel very much.

Beautiful property…loved walking around the beautiful South Shore Marina. The pool was lots of fun, too! I was very happy with the location….close to shops, restaurants, NASA space center and Houston area. Rooms were clean, needed just a few updates in the bathroom, but very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Property looked old and untamed

Very nice hotel..really enjoyed the big pool, the swim up bar, the only thing that I didn’t like was that there were several grown adults throwing a football in the pool which almost hit several people, the employees or cops didn’t ask them to stop . I had to get out of the pool before they hit me with the ball.
