The room are clean, with basic amenities, also the staff was welcoming and nice. Also the shopping center were just walking distance from the location. It was nice experience staying there.

Great value! For the cost, this was a terrific stay. The room was clean, well situated (a block from the beach) and friendly staff. Beds were comfortable too. We arrived very late and the after hours check in was smooth. There was no room cleaning/fresh towels mid stay, but we only stayed 2 nights.

We loved our stay here and will be returning for future trips. Perfect distance walk to the beach and restaurant. The lady at the front desk we very helpful and kind which goes a long way! Pool was nice, they had lots of toys for my kids to play with. The room itself was also well sized, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was functioning. What more could you ask for? The only thing I would do differently is ask for a ground level room since I had a stroller and there was no elevator.

Lots of miscommunication/no communication w/front desk staff made this accommodation very challenging. We attempted to check in at 12:30 on the day of arrival, the office hours 10am-6pm, there was no one there. Waited 20 minutes and left to spend our afternoon sightseeing.We didn’t return until late due to traffic. We received a message from the front desk with instruction for the lockbox to get key.Next morning we left early to explore the Florida Keys.Due to a forrest fire blocking our route back to the hotel we didn’t arrive until 2:30am. Our room key didn’t work, called the emergency line twice and left voicemail.Slept on couches at the pool (had to run to Denny’s in the middle of the night for bathroom). Finally reached someone on the emergency phone number at 7:00a.m.Was informed that our room key was in the lockbox with the same code as before. Was also informed that they’d called Expedia, spent twenty minutes on the phone to get them to convey a message to me about the key in lockbox.Didn’t get that message, because I booked through Hotels.com not Expedia.Finally encountered the front desk staff later that day, to sign paperwork/pay my remaining balance.Quite unfriendly, likely because I’d awakened her at 7am with my phone call.In spite of paying for a room, that I didn’t get to sleep in until 7am, I was calm/courteous.As a large group checked in, they were given car pass for parking,I asked for one, was told I didn’t need it, I insisted, didn’t need car towed!

The location is wonderful- 2 blocks to the beach, 6 minute walk to the restaurants and shops in the town center. There are a Dunkin Donuts and First Watch options for breakfast within an 10 minute walk and a Publix Supermarket in the same shopping center. This hotel also includes free parking for one car. There are no resort fees. Services are limited compared to a fancier hotel. This is a really good option for a somewhat budget accommodation near the ocean.

The woman at the front desk was super helpful but our room was so tiny. It was hard to get around the bed, no hot water and no counter space in the bathroom. The location was great and the pool was nice and heated.

What a hidden gem!!! Staff very friendly close to everything parking available a ton of restaurants a block walking distance and beach also about a block walking distance!! Hotel provides beach chairs and umbrellas !!!!

This is a small quaint motel. It is an older property as are many in the Ft Lauderdale and Lauderdale by the sea areas but this motel has been updated and was perfectly adequate, especially for the price. We had a basic room but it was still equipped with a small coffee maker and a dorm room sized refrigerator. The property was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a small pool with a nice lounging area around it. The property is within walking distance of the pier and beach and there are plenty of shopping opportunities along with bars and restaurants. My only issue would be that the water in the bathroom sink had a slight yellowish tint to it and i didnt ask the staff about it so I'm not sure what the cause was for that. Overall this is a nice property(again, especially for the money-we stayed in a basic king room and paid just over $100/night)and we would definitely stay here in the future.

Great location, cozy out door atmosphere. Out door furniture could use an upgrade, as well as bbq was very small. House keeping did not come in to do light clean towel bedding change unless requested. Overall good value for your money. Renee was very accommodating.

Our room with a kitchenette was clean, comfortable and perfect for our 2 day stay. The kitchen was well supplied with everything. The only thing I would suggest is to have a comfy chair and another luggage rack. Also, the mattress needed to be replaced or flipped and rotated.

Renee was great! We rented the king studio. Our room had everything we could have needed. The hotel is small and inviting. The pool area had a great vibe. The beach was a block away and all the area restaurants and night life just 3 blocks down. They even had umbrellas and chairs you can barrow for the beach!

Beautiful, super clean, nice and cold, 1 block from the beach. Renee had beach chairs available and beach supplies if needed for guest use. Felt very safe even walking downtown after dark. Police Station right across the street. Will definetly stay here again.

Our only complaint was how easy it was to hear our neighbors as they were talking and moving their stuff around (however they were speaking and yelling very loudly to begin with) and any construction/repairs right outside our door that woke us up. That only occurred 1 day out of our 3 day stay though. Other than that, I highly recommend this place and I definitely plan on future stays.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was a beautify room and hotel. We especially loved the fact that we could walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Once we parked the truck we did not have to move it again till we left for home.

I enjoyed staying here. It’s a nice place and not tons of people. We enjoyed swimming in the pool without tons of people in it and walked to the beach. The lady that manages the place is very helpful and friendly.

If the towels were to soiled you’d get charged? What’s that about?! It’s Florida, the tile in the hotel made our feet black and when we would stand on a towel to clean the dust/sand/crumbs off our feet the towel would naturally get dirty. Also no broom was provided per room. You had to go downstairs in the outside hallway and use that one without a pan and when you were done take it back downstairs. Try doing that 2-5x a day with two small kids. Trash bags, you were given two at a time and always had to go and ask for more. Need a frying Pan, ask the front desk. They aren’t provided at the beginning of your booking, only if asked for. The beds were springy. Got a few jabs in the ribs. Handles were falling off on at least one thing of everything. Great location.. but otherwise eh. Rather spend a little more money and go elsewhere. And not that it was entirely ‘cheap’ either. Otherwise wouldn’t expected to get what we pay for. Until next time Florida.

I love this hotel to stay with my family for Fourth of July weekend. What I didn’t like about my stay is that they didn’t do any housekeeping the whole weekend.

Overall stay was awesome. The only downside was the bed. Need a more comfortable mattress.

Manager was very helpful and volunteered to get our boarding passes on the motel computer for us. The motel is old but has been remodeled and done pretty cute. Bed was an older firm king mattress, no breakfast, pool was clean and nice, location is very good (1 block walking to good beach), police dept. across the street (safe area), free parking in front of motel (everywhere else you go, parking is metered - we didn't know and got a ticket!). There are mostly older small motels in the area (some redone and some not), next time we will probably go with a motel chain if we can. Note: manager attempted to get a resort fee of $16 cash only (?!) but I had all my paperwork from Hotels.com that stated the amount we had prepaid included all taxes and fees - so we didn't have to pay the extra charge (ie - bring your paperwork).

Renee and Alva are fantastic... The Castle by the sea was everything we hoped for. The room although a bit small for 4 was updated, comfortable beds and the AC worked great!! The hotel is perfectly located close to the beach, bars, shopping and restaurants. The pool area was very nice and provided the perfect amount of shade nearby. My friends and I had a lovely 4 days in Lauderdale-by-the-sea celebrating my grad school graduation and another's birthday. The hotel provided ample beach and bath towels as well as beach chairs and umbrellas. A wonderful time was had by all, will certainly return.

What an adorable place! I was a little weary at first because it was a motel but boy was I surprised. The room was HUGE! Super bright and clean, full kitchen, separate walk in closet from an updated bathroom with a GREAT double shower head. There was only one wonderful woman on staff and she was a superstar. She gracefully came at 1:30 am when I lost my key and was so kind and understanding. The pool was very clean and 8ft deep on one end, which is deeper than most hotels I've been to. It's 2 blocks from the bars and restaurants, 2 blocks from a shopping square and 1 block from the beach. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Make sure to use those little blue envelopes and tip your housekeeping, they deserve it!! :-)

We stayed in the deluxe studio which was a very nice updated room, looks just like the pictures! It also has a small kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. The only two complaints we have about the room was the bed was very noisy and there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. We started leaving the door open while taking a shower. Other than that we were very pleased and would definitely stay here again!! Renae at the desk is awesome as well! Within walking distance to the beach, many restaurants and bars!

Cute, clean. Two minute walk to the beach. Fully stocked kitchenettes. Friendly staff. Pool with cool cabana and comfortable shaded lounge chairs. Quiet. Everything seemed freshly painted and decorated and was bright and cheerful.

Our room was clean. At first glance we were very aprihensive. Our door frame was broken, and could probably have been pushed in. Noone on site, we had to call when we checked in. The lady that checked us in was very nice, she let us see the room first because we weren't sure if we wanted to stay. The pool was good and close proximity to town and the beach.

We loved our stay at Castle by the Sea! Very quiet stay. Not too many other guests. We have recommended CBTS to our son and his family as they will be staying in April 2021. I will be making my reservations for next year with CBTS

This is a hidden gem in Lauderdale by the Sea. Our room was clean and comfortable with no issues. The outside pool area is a good place relax, kind of looks like a little tropical paradise. Just a short walk to the beach, and all of the restaurants, it is the perfect location. Renee, did a great job of making us feel welcome and helped us with whatever we needed. Thanks for making our stay wonderful!!

We had a great experience. Room was clean and smelled nice and fresh. Floor could have been cleaner socks were dirty walking from walking on floor other than that room was clean and fresh. Pool area could use a good cleaning some mold on patio. Overall we had a great time we would stay there again.

Our only feedback is that there is no maid service during the stay. You can request clean towels if need be. All in all, very happy with our stay at castle by the sea.
