Reviews
Guests generally have a positive experience at this hotel, appreciating the cleanliness, comfort, and amenities. The staff is frequently praised for being friendly and helpful. However, some guests have issues with noise, particularly from the nearby freeway, and a few have had problems with the quality of sleep due to uncomfortable beds or other disturbances.
- Clean and comfortable rooms

Zero complaints. It was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. I wish it had a hot tub but that’s ok.

The room was really nice. I am a housekeeper myself so I accidentally find myself looking for things that are not up to standards. It looked very clean when you first walk in. But as I started looking, I noticed the floor wasn't vacuumed, I found a huge hair clip right on the floor next to the bed and night stand, the toilet had a hair on the seat, and a few smudges on the faucets and mirrors. I'm not trying to complain, but all that is a no no where I work. It's a beautiful hotel though. It needs a indoor pool for sure.

Kitchen was very well equipped for a private dinner in!!! Wish there was a table of sorts for two
- 5/5
The only downside is the road noise, but nothing they can do about that and hearing it just means it is easy in and out to go sight seeing.
- 3/5
Wors Breakfast ever seen at Marriot only one worker was working. Only scrambled and boiled eggs were option. It is better if you don't serve breakfast. Staff appeared somewhat unprofessional and lack of proper dress

I always stay at a Marriott

There are three issues I'd like to point out...one is important and the other two are small and picky, I'll share them anyway. First - I found that there was no safe in the room unacceptable. I have stayed in a hundred hotels and your Hotel is the first to not have a safe. This true of Hotels in your same category and same target market. I brought some valuable items with me and had no place to secure them. Second...impressions count. the paper towels you provide in the Kitchen are so obviously cheap. They tear and don't pick up the amount of liquid I would have expected. Third: The coffee maker in the kitchen was old...and the dial on the filter is worn away so one doesn't know what one's options are in terms of what I assume is desired strength of coffee I may have wanted. As I say impressions count...i would have higher expectations of any Marriott property over what I assume a Holiday Inn or Motel 6 would offer. The two 'picky' items are so inexpensive to address that I would be disappointed if you didn't take my concerns to heart. I will never stay at this property again, by choice, so I will never know if you address the lack of a safe. Thank you.

Clean, newer or remodeled, staff is friendly. Easy access to freeway. Kitchen comes with everything u need even silverware. Beds are comfortable.
- 5/5
Great and convenient location!! Awesome amenities
- 3.5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the manager who checked us in. The room facilities good, with a nice kitchenette. The beds and pillows were great. Plenty of parking. It’s close to the freeway, but our room was on the other side of the building so it was nice and quiet.

The staff was great! So friendly and easy to work with. Breakfast was good lots of options. It’s right off of I-5 and convenient

Only one bath towel for the room. No wash cloths or hand towels.

Staff was amazing and room was nice and clean. Loved having a kitchenette Slightly dated but nit a big deal
- 5/5
Comfortable stay for a business traveler. Nothing flashy. Just a good room in a central location
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. Good variety at the breakfast buffet including gluten free and fresh fruit. Rooms clean and updated. Perfect for a family vacation as our room had a mini kitchen too. Only con is freeway noise but otherwise great. Coming back!
- 5/5
Unfortunately, the bed was way too firm, which resulted in very little sleep. A thicker memory foam topper would have helped a lot.
- 4/5
Had a lovely stay. The staff was super nice and helpful!!!
- 5/5
Great location close to food and the freeway. Safe and quiet. Quick trip into Tacoma in the morning.

Outstanding stay at Towneplace Suites Lakewood. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating when we asked to host a family get-together in the lobby's breakfast area one evening. The property is very clean, modern, and quiet - with ample parking. Highly recommend!
- 1/5
I chose a pet friendly hotel. The pet fee with tax is $137.50 for one small dog. My dog could’ve gotten his own hotel room elsewhere for that price. I hate huge hidden fees. So I will never stay at another Marriott.
- 4/5
This is to the hotel. Overall experience was very good. Breakfast was decent and the use for a kitchenette was very handy. The couple complaints I may have is there was a hole underneath a tile floor in the kitchenette that could not be seen but could be felt. Another complaint would be towards parking management. There was TownePlace Suites and Holiday Inn Express practically next to each other. You had a fence separating the two properties. It would have been much more convenient to be able to drive to the other Hotel through the parking lot to pick up other friends instead of going all the way to the street just to get to the other Hotel. I'm not saying you're going to do anything about it, but please consider extending the parking space to where the fence separates the two. It would create extra parking spaces in the future.
- 5/5
Convenient location helpful staff and clean rooms.
- 5/5
My trip to lakewood from vancouver.Washington was supposed to be six hours max, with daylight time still running. Fortunately, I was escaping a domestic violence situation. And I was not allowed to retrieve my belongings, such as winter clothes and toiletries, just because I came back from mexico. Fortunately, this hotel was able to accommodate me extremely quickly. The amenities are so nice. The people that have been checking me in and take caring of me have been so kind and understanding and have been able to connect me with everything I need my room is gorgeous. It's huge.It has two beds and a tiny kitchenette, i'm so happy.Thank you!
- 5/5
Great stay! Very comfortable
- 5/5
While this hotel is quite near the freeway, the rooms were wonderfully quiet and nicely supplied with supplies for longer stays.
- 4/5
Didn’t like the outside pool other than that everything was great
- 1/5
The rooms are old and have not been taken care of. There are a lot of defects in the room like door hinges being painted over floor trim that's sticking up dirty tiles in the bathroom that have not been cleaned. A lot of surface areas that have not been cleaned. Stains on the carpet stains on the couches.
- 4/5
Convenient location for our visit.
- 3/5
Breakfast options were limited and not very good. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be that hard to improve the breakfast and start everyone off for the day with a full belly and a smile.
- 5/5
Great stay.. slept very well
- 5/5
Great hotel and met my needs. The hotel felt safe, was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast offered a variety of items.
- 4/5
Property is good.
- 5/5
Great property
- 5/5
Nice hotel with a mini kitchen. Beds were more comfortable than cheaper hotels. Breakfast was decent.
- 5/5
This was just a one night quick stay but I would definitely stay here again. Staff were friendly and helpful. They offer earplugs and noise machines for the highway traffic, although I didnt hear anything with the fan running. Bed was comfy, shower was hot and the breakfast we grabbed on our way out was also very good. Overall it was a good stay and we would stay here again if we're in the area
- 5/5
It was such a great stay. Very comfortable and the staff was helpful. Easy checkin
- 5/5
Nice place. A tad noisy with adjacent roads. Clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Very nice amenities and service!
- 2/5
So basically I was stuck in a smelly room for 5 days and no way to get any money back. This is a real problem when going through a third party vendor.
- 4/5
Nice hotel and it was a good stay.
- 5/5
This is a superb hotel. It’s very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I’ve enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well as the pool and gym.
- 3/5
Staff was smoking marijuana outside the front door before we checked in. We had to smell it the entire time we were checking in. Hotel was clean and comfortable. But, as we headed to the parking lot at check out, we discovered many piles of broken glass from car windows being broken into during the night. Several vehicles were broken into. Unsafe area!!
- 4/5
Nice quiet on opposite side of freeway. Staff friendly
- 3/5
Property is clean, staff was nice, but lots of road noise on freeway side.
- 4/5
Corridor carpets in need of cleaning ground floor.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 3/5
Housekeeping service only once every 5 days. We stayed 4 nights, so no cleaning was done whatsoever.
- 5/5
Staff especially Terry provided excellent customer service. Room was great and breakfast was good. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
I enjoyed myself! Staff was amazing especially person that helped me get checkin, she did such an amazing job helping me.
- 4/5
Great place.
- 5/5
Always enjoy staying at this property when in the Tacoma/Lakewood area. It is a wonderful property and very convenient to the freeway, bases, and everything else.
- 5/5
A very nice room with a lot of amenities. Very good breakfast.
- 2/5
The hotel and room were clean and nice. The breakfast was also good. However, the noise from the freeway didn't let us sleep. The window doesn't do anything with that noise. The heater is also noisy. So, we got the sleepless night there.
- 5/5
Very nice rooms, kitchenette includes full sized fridge & dishwasher, a table for 4, dishes utensils & very nice storage area for a hotel room. Building materials look/feel relatively new. It felt like a livable space long term. Enjoy this Marriott! ~Z~
- 3/5
The place looks really nice but it was very loud at 1am on a Tuesday. Also in the middle of the night the a/c heat broke and was super loud and woke me up at 2am. When I went to check out no one was at the front desk and I had to wait about 20 mins
- 5/5
Ariel, made such an impact when checking us in, she was so kind and compassionate I really appreciated her after a really long day!
- 4/5
Aside from a couple days where we asked for sheets and towels to be replace but was not (we stayed for 2 weeks), it was a good stay. Management reached out to me for the bumpy start where I could not enter the building for a late check in (I called ahead) and we just used air spray to eliminate the faint odor of spoiled food.
- 3/5
And yes. It’s on the website and in the fine print of Expedia so thanks for reminding me the fee is my fault for not reading. I figured the guy behind the counter was having a bad night when I took 10 to 15 minutes for him to check me in, but to tell me about the fee AFTER my card was scanned as he’s handing me keys felt like a bait a switch. (I know - it’s MY fault) Never again. Oh- and if you turn the fan on over the cook top you can drown out the constant door slamming by the stairs for that 125 dollar EXTRA pet “friendly” room.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 4/5
We stayed for a game at Puget Sound. This is about 10-15 minutes from the school. This place was clean, conveniently off the freeway.
- 5/5
I love the rooms with a kitchen and shower!
- 5/5
It was nice
- 5/5
Room was very beautiful, very nice view. Stayed the night before my sisters wedding and she really enjoyed how clean and nice the staff were. I would stay a night there again. Highly recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
I was conveniences. Parking is big
- 5/5
Great large room, with functional mini kitchen area. Very clean and modern room. Would stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
Nice room. Mini suite.
- 3/5
It is loud, especially on the highway side due to the very close proximity to I-5, so if you don't get a room to the NW of the highway and on the opposite side of the building you will hear trucks
- 5/5
Very well kept up
- 5/5
Great property. Great location
- 5/5
I definitely will be back for future stays and will make use of the TV in the sitting area and kitchen
- 2/5
I have stayed at many hotels during covid and many of them either still offered a hot breakfast but had staff serve to guests rather than a help yourself buffet or provided a nicer and more variety of items at a grab and go breakfast area. There are 100s of options that could have been provided in a grab and go area but to provide only oranges and granola bars waa very disappointing and makes me not want to stay at Marriott properties in the future.
- 4/5
Room: Large. Bed is comfortable. Small dinning table and chairs. Our room was not facing the freeway, when the window is closed, it's quiet. TV: we can log on to Netflix so that was great. Bathroom: large, clean, and lots of hot water. Cleaniness: there were pretzels scattered on the carpet when we first check-in. Everything else was spotless. Because of Covid, rooms will not be cleaned unless you are staying over 7 days. You can leave your dirty towels and rubbish out by the door. We didn't mind that however wish there were more supplies in the room. The first time I ran out of rubbish bag at night, call the front desk and was told I have to wait till morning because housekeeping had left for the day. After that, I learned to track down cleaning ladies in the hallway. Location: next to freeway exit and gas station. Very close to Lakewood shopping area. Over all, we enjoyed our stay. It was the most expensive option in the area, but having a kitchen and dinning table is totally worth it for us.
- 4/5
Bed was super comfy and clean
- 5/5
Love the hotel friendly staff and very clean and comfortable stay. Will be back for sure.
- 4/5
It was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Kitchen was well stocked and space was modern and comfortable. It wasn’t a huge space - kitchen was a bit tight. Biggest complaint is that the black-out curtains don’t extend past the window and fall about an inch short, so when the sun came up before 6am, the curtains were useless and the room was full of light. Not great for light sleepers. I don’t know why the curtains weren’t longer. Also, bed was pretty hard and pillows were stiff. Just not as comfy as you’d like for such a pretty suite.
- 5/5
Very clean and the staff was very attentive. The only thing that needs work was their breakfast. Paper sack with an orange and a very small granola bar. I would stay again.
- 5/5
Really nice suite with kitchenette and dishwasher which also provided cookware and dishes if you made food.
- 5/5
Adrian at the front desk was very courteous and friendly. He even called to let us know our food delivery was on our way up to our room. Great stay, clean room, friendly staff. Will stay again.
- 4/5
The guy at the front made things complicated. Everything else was nice tho. I'll go back
- 3/5
This hotel is situated right next to I-5, and the traffic is quite loud. However, if you turn on the fan unit in the window, you can drown out some of the noise. My biggest complaint with this stay is the size of the kitchen, and especially the stovetop. While I was able to cook my food, the stovetop is ridiculously small, as is the entire kitchen.
- 2/5
We had to travel to deal with a death in the family. We did not realize the hotel had no soundproofing and our room was facing the I-5 freeway. The noise was horrendous. The booking came with continental breakfast but when we arrived were told no breakfast available. We are seeking compensation for this omission. The room had a kitchen but no table and chairs to eat at. We had to request them.
- 5/5
Nice place. Modern, clean, quiet, convenient to McChord/Lewis. Price not bad ( perhaps courtesy of the corona virus)
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and well stocked with the few utensils and dinnerware that we used. The bed was a bit soft for us but comfortable. The shower was a large walk-in and wonderful! We were surprised how quiet the room was, we were on the back side of the hotel and heard very little road noise and no freeway sound. Unfortunately, the CoVid restrictions didn't allow the pool to be open. Good location, easy I-5 access, shopping access, etc. For good German food, eat at Brunos on Bridgeport! We will stay here again!
- 4/5
Very surprised that there was no discount offered since they weren’t serving breakfast. Since Covid-19 we’ve stayed in other hotels that have a sheet a paper with a few options we give it to the front desk then the employees puts the items together in a container then places it on the table and we pick it up.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable . Staff was extremely friendly and helpful too
- 5/5
Very nice, clean, modern hotel in a convenient location, right by I-5.
- 5/5
I like the cleanliness of the hotel. Access to highway was a plus.
- 5/5
The beds where great! Room was comfortable and conveniently stocked with items to eat8;!
- 4/5
I was very thankful for all this..
- 4/5
The Room was dirty
- 4/5
Felt like walking into a home.....loved the breakfast too!
- 5/5
the suite was small but beautifully appointed, The breakfast was very good (oatmeal) fresh bananas and options for freshly made eggs. It was exactly where I needed to get into the JBLM visitor center so I was happy - the traffic on i-5 early in the morning is bumper to bumper in both directions so I was glad not to deal with that. The freeway noise in the room was not bad at all. I was on the 4th floor, (the roof) and there was some odd sounds - a deep intermittant hum. I used earplugs and slept well.
- 5/5
Fast, easy, accommodating check-in. All staff members were friendly and helpful. Hotel offered many familiar comforts of Marriott properties at a fraction of the price.
- 5/5
We really loved our rooms...Such comfortable beds!!! And the kitchenette was also great!!!
- 5/5
Our stay has always been fantastic at this Hotel, the staff, location, the room size
- 5/5
Very clean, absolutely everything you need in a suite, feels just like being in your own home.
- 5/5
Wish I could’ve stayed longer
- 5/5
Very comfortable and very clean!
- 5/5
Get look! And the rooms are amazing! Pricing is perfect
- 5/5
Not within walking distance of music venue or high end restaurants. The facility is great!
- 5/5
The rooms were spacious and clean. Very thoughtful organization for extended living. I was only there one night but I could see staying a lot longer with the nice kitchen, bathroom, and desk set up. And the free breakfast in the lobby was very good! Well done.
