Best Western Lakewood

Checked in and did not receive the King standard that I reserved. Didn’t think much about it until someone tried to enter my room multiple times in the evening thinking that that was their room. I told them to go back to the office because I had checked in hours earlier the next day my room key quit working, so I returned to the office only to learn that they gave me the wrong room at check-in. They were very nice and apologized for the mixup fixed my keys because I wasn’t willing to move rooms after staying one night.

The staff were helpful. Unclean, mold, floor not vacuumed, room really dusty and dirty. I had to clean the whole room and still didn’t feel clean. Decided to leave an hour later.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. We stay there almost every year while visiting family. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable. We like to stay in the back where it’s more quiet. There’s a security guard there which makes us feel safe. I have no complaints.

Needed a place to stay near Tacoma but not downtown, this fit the bill. Bathtub stopper not present, all else was good.

The Breakfast was Awesome! It was like a buffet from fresh potatoes, eggs, bacon, cereals, waffles, and much more, and there coffee was bomb!!!

Continental breakfast was good Unclean felt suspicious had police hanging around and some shady suspects. Wet spot on the floor, may have been carpet cleaner… hopefully, room was overwhelmingly smelling of cleaner like something had to be covered up.

Our stay was very comfortable. King size beds here are perfect. The “queen” size room is more of a full size bed. We stayed a total of 3 nights and 4 days. I placed the “pick up room” place card on door but room was not cleaned. Thankfully the front staff was kind enough to grab us fresh towels and extra blankets :) Also, breakfast is a hit or miss type of thing. First day it was amazing! Second day was disappointing.

This place is basically a rent by the hour with a landlord special want to be face lift pain job- AND the beds were SO SMALL! The "queen bed" was actually a full (we literally measured them) Rather than try to fix the issue they told me and I specifically quote so you can understand the audacity "you have no idea what you are talking about" The way I did not unpack a single bag stayed in the car and booked elsewhere IMMEDIATELY! The lamps and surfaces were dirty and dusty and there was remnants of dirt or crackers or something on the floor. I wouldn't be surprised given the smell (moldy and musty) and the people smoking cigarettes and weed right outside our door- and the people digging in the trash if this place didn't carry things you don't want to bring home! 0 Stars!

The room was dared, which did not bother us but the heating unit sounded like a wind storm. Rooms were accessible from the outside which we liked but with more rooms than parking spots, we could not park near the door. On the positive side, the rest of the staff was friendly. We stay in Best Western motels fairly frequently and have come to expect better than this.

Breakfast was decent. Room clean. I reserved 2 nights. There was a mishap with room i reserved so I was compensated with a third night. Front desk person didnt send memo to staff that we were ataying 2 nights so housekeeping knocing on door and then frint desk calling room telling me it was time to check out. Need to upgrade your cable channels. Nothing to watch. No movie channels etc.

What hot tub?

Clean Room. Average amenities. No cell phone charging ports anywhere in the room. Breakfast service ended much too early.

The room seemed clean, bedding was definitely clean and fresh, there were some “missed spots”, like dead spiders and dirt in the corners, but overall room was comfortable.

Our first room.was not good, not the fault of the staff because it looked like it was still.new but as things dried out the wet spot by the bed turned out to be urine and the Bible had a huge Satanic message in it. When we moved the second night that room was much more pleasant and clean. Smelled better. The staff was amazing and breakfast was good. Its in town so really central to everything. We would stay again.

Ok area for the price, didn’t realize it was a motel with outdoor entrances. It’s close to stores and the freeway, about 20 minutes to the Tacoma Dome. Our room was clean, the water pressure and barely warm shower water were not enjoyable. Checkin was friendly and fast,

The heater didn’t work it was so cold in our room. The walls are so thin you could hear the neighbors talking even if they were outside. Breakfast was served 6am-9am. We went at 8:30 and they had stopped serving it at 8??? There was only a couple bagels and muffins left so we didn’t even get to eat breakfast. Our key cards stopped working both days we were there because “they kept putting the wrong check out date. And I booked a room with one king size bed but we got a normal room with two queen size beds. If I paid more for a king why did I get two queens??? It felt so ghetto and unsafe in there. Lowkey would like a refund because what the heck.

Carpet dirty. Feet black from walking around. Lamp shade torn, light bulbs out and we were out around the back side which was sketchy at best. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Comforter and Sheets were tattered and stained. Toilet was way to low to the floor and I am 4'11".

This hotel needs an major overhual. It's conveniently located and the price is okay, but thats about it.

Customer service leaves mic to be desired. Check in was fine, and I asked the person checking me in if it was possible for me to have an extra late check out the next day as I had an awkward schedule and was a time later than 12 at all possible. They were very nice and said it might be as it’s happened before and just to explain and ask in the morning. I asked in the morning and tried to explain and was told very curtly no, and then asked who told me it was possible. I didn’t know their name, and I’m also not about to get someone in trouble for trying to be helpful. When the manager came back she wouldn’t speak to me directly and also refused. I was told I would have to pay $25/hr after 12 and when I said fine, I’ll do that, they seemed annoyed. Lady at the desk was having a lot of trouble even doing that much, and manager sat right there, not really concerned with being helpful or expediting things. It’s not as if we’re in peak season with a ton of guests. If you’re going to work in hospitality you should try to show some hospitality. Honestly; there’s a big difference between explaining “I’m sorry, but we really can’t accommodate your request because….” And trying to offer some other solution, and just flatly denying people and wanting to nickel and dime them. If you need any sort of accommodation or customer service, stay else where.

Motel was pretty good. Room was nice, heater ran well and was not noisy. Breakfasts were awesome, each day a little different. Staff were excellent.

The room was nice and parking is right outside your door.

The room was clean however when we requstrd more towels we waited 2 days. They never came to service the room despite putting the "please servoce room" sign on the door. Upon checking out they also tried to tell me that i extended my stay an additional 2 days and tried to charge me an additiinal 280+ dollars.

Room wasn’t ready at check in time . I sat in the parking lot waiting for her to finish but a staff member redirected her to another room . It was supposed to be a non- smoking room . I’ve never smoked so it was pretty obvious it wasn’t .Need new pillows they don’t fit the bed .

The toilets are too low and no grab bars. I’m not handicapped but I’m older. Breakfast was good.

The rooms were very clean, the staff were very friendly, so nice and kind enough to accommodate my late check-in. The breakfast was great. I really enjoyed my stay.

I was told I have to pay a deposit of 100 and I did not have a card with me and was being told I cannot stay in the hotel..and I had already paid the hotel fee for a night..this is embarrassing..you would have charged that or put a card on file

A bit run down for a Best Western. I've experience much better from other BW properties.

No internet. Wifi was out and they had no information on when it would be up. In a hotel today, you Have to have internet. I missed a day of work on my laptop. That is not acceptable.

Spider webs everywhere along with an enormous spider in the corner. Largest spider I’ve ever seen in the Pacific Northwest. Every lamp, coiling corner and door frame was full of webs.

Good breakfast. Excellent staff. Clean pool, powerful shower, comfy beds.

Excellent front desk service. Quiet hotel. Across from a cute community theater with lights strung over the street. Lot next door is a large vacant field and abandoned store fronts, but I didn’t notice loitering or anything. Older accommodations with carpeted rooms that are due for an upgrade but very clean. Had to hold down the handle to completely flush toilet and vanity lights above mirror were awful, but overall a good affordable hotel that I plan to use again.

Close to family

A terrible experience. We were booked for 6 days, we left after 12 hours. The hotel has no Wi-fi although they advertise that they do. The room smelled, carpets are worn and showing concrete through them. A terrible start to our family vacation

The property smelled like urine. And we requested to switch room they let us know that they had none available so we were stuck putting up with the smell for the two days.

Ok place. Comfy bed but bathroom was dirty. The floor around the sink was sticky probably from using too much cleaner. Bathroom had hair on the floor and in the tub.

Improvements- the bathroom fan was very loud and toliet was very short. The pool was cold.

The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, the property was clean and felt safe, the noise levels were perfect and there was plenty of parking. My only issue was that this hotel doesn't have wifi for guests. But besides that, I had a pleasant stay. I will be returning!

Hard pillows. 4 pillows on the bed should have various degrees of hard and soft. Nasty scrambled egg rounds.

The breakfast was good. The room had a funny smell. They never cleaned my room the 4 night I was there. They told me I had to request it. I did Fri. But when I kedt on Sun. It had not been cleaned.

This is a nice quiet place, staff are always very friendly, breakfast is always ready on time and the food always looks and tastes good

Room was large and spacious, we got the deluxe queen for 3 adults. Staff was friendly. The room had a moldy smell although appeared very clean. The sink in the bathroom was missing a screen so the water sprayed out in odd directions, and the toilet had a very weak flush. Otherwise it was fine.

We really liked this place. It's older but clean. Service was really good. Breakfast was decent. Pool was enjoyable as well. We actually extended our stay by 2 nights to have a little more pool time. LOTS of dining choices nearby. Grocery and clothing stores too.

Comfy bed, room was not renovated but clean and quiet, nice to have a microwave, fridge and microwave.

First of all we got lost on the way there so I called them to inform them that we would be checking in late and was told that was fine. When we arrived I was told I was already checked in. My card had already been charged without checking for identification or checking the card. After waiting an hour we were finally put into a room. We also had no WiFi service the entirety of our stay

I caught 4 spiders and 1 bug in the washroom. And the worst thing is I found a half dead spider on the inner side bedding.

I was pleasently surprised at how clean and comfortable this place was. You can't beat the price and only about a 20m Uber ride to Jazzbones and the Comedy Club. We will absolutely stay here again!

Breakfast was okay, though, again, the facilities clearly have seen better days. Most of the tables had a wobble, and the waffle batter dispenser broke literally every time it was used, which was frustrating. All that being said, they don't claim to be 4 star and I was able to get a room with little notice and without breaking the bank.

Had a wonderful stay worth every dime

Great spot, we were in town attending an event in the Tacoma Dome so it was easy accessible to our venue. Only comment is we were surprised it was a motel. Not a bad thing. We'll be back!

I had to change room cuz the electrical outlets did not work in the first room and when I got to the other room same problem and they had to rest the fuse book and you had to use a switch to turn it on and off. Which not help when you need to be able to plug in your Cpap machine so I could sleep. I thought I was going to have to go buy an extension cord to be able to use my cpap machine. The breakfast was all most out of very thing and nothing hot after 8:30 am. It was bad and I will not be going to stay there ever again.

One of the bed had broken springs that caused me to sink and I’m only 165lbs. But, the WORST THING was the room had ROACHES!!! Once we noticed the roaches, I immediately checked out and demanded a refund. I took and showed video of the roaches and showed it to the staff on hand.

Unaccommodating staff and management pertaining to a familial emergency which altered the reservation period. Room keyless entry stopped working which required switching to an alternate room for the last two nights of the stay.

I wasn't expecting a motel layout, but the room was fantastic. We had space to move around and feel cozy. The shower was hot. The toiletries smelled good. We slept in, so we missed breakfast, but sleeping in was also good. Thanks for the cozy night!

A good central place to stay in the area. Generally quiet, but can get a little noisy when the place is crowded. I'll return as I have many times before.

Not a fuve star but it is what we need for now. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and ready to help. Easy to park your car. Clean room and a comfy bed. Maybe they should be offering at least two free bottles of water/soda on the fridge, since the tap water taste kinda strange.

The area was a little rough. There was also no hot water-when your kid is there for a football tournament it is critical to everyone around him to shower-he wasn’t able too due to no hot water.

It was unexpected that this is a motel, not hotel. There is a pool but no hot tub. Everything is super dated but the staff was helpful and do a good job. More than anything, the mattresses are gross. I lifted the bottom sheets to check for bed bugs, and thankfully there was no evidence of any, but I had a hard time sleeping there after I looked because the mattress were both stained.

I checked in with manager Candy and trainee Gigi who were very friendly and did their best to give me a great room for my stay. Room was very clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. All was great until the alarm clock blasted me unexpectedly at 5:45 am. Someone left an alarm bomb for me….. it took a while to calm myself after that…. Awoke on my own at 7. Breakfast was included and …. meh. The hotel is old and tired but the rooms are large and comfy. It’s close to relatives that I visit. Its location trumps all the other minor drawbacks.
