The best part about our stay was that there were no surprises and no disappointments. Everything was just as you would want it to be. When daily cookies were being put out, just as my siblings and I were headed out to dinner, we were asked if we would like one...and, knowing that they would, most likely, be gone upon our return, we were allowed to put one each aside and as soon as we got back, we were presented with a plate of our saved cookies!! Very sweet and considerate....treated us like family.

The breakfast was very good. The parking was safe and easy. Unfortunately, they totally skimp on amenities. No bottled water in the rooms (they will sell you a small bottle for $2). No coffee maker. No ability to stream on the TV. The bedding left me with a back ache. I'm not recommending this property. The price was entirely too high for the amenities they provide.

We stayed 3 nights, the room was clean, breakfast as okay but they had the same thing every morning. We ate it the first morning. The second we tried but eggs were dry. The last morning we skipped it. Parking if your not there early you may not get a spot they really need more parking. Other than that it was great.

Property was good but they need a better sign to find the hotel. Tucked between Kohl’s and Home Depot. We drove in circles and finally had to call front desk. In a weird location.

The rooms have always been clean, fresh, and well-maintained. The mattresses feel newer and are very comfortable. I also appreciate the quality Dove soap and shampoo provided. It’s a small touch, but it helps save space when traveling. One of the standout perks is the fresh cookies available each evening from 5 to 7 p.m., a simple but enjoyable treat. Breakfast is another highlight, offering a wide variety of options from cereal and bagels to hot items like pancakes, eggs, sausage, and biscuits with gravy. Everything is kept fresh, hot, and well-stocked, and the breakfast staff works hard to keep the area clean and organized. I highly recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone visiting the Lake Wales area, whether for a quick overnight stay or a longer visit.

No longer provide coffee in room - must go to dining room. It is free, but very inconvenient. They have two machines that only make coffee when you put in your “order.” So you will wait during busy times. I booked two rooms and put notes to that effect on BOTH reservations. Still weren’t together at check in. Limited parking. Lot totally full when we returned in the evening. Had to park in adjacent business parking. That’s not okay.

If I had been alone, I might have accepted it, but I was traveling with two toddlers, which made the situation much more difficult. Although he offered a refund, it was already 10 PM and my kids were tired and crying, so leaving wasn’t really an option. To make matters worse, the toilet was flooded, and the overall environment didn’t feel family-friendly. There were people outside playing loud music, barbecuing, and smoking weed. I don’t have anything against that, but it’s not the kind of place I would choose to stay with children. Overall, I would not return.

I thought the stay was good. It’s a nice place for families. My daughter did find a small cockroach and then threw it away then next morning she saw one in the bathroom again but it ran off. But other than that the place was great bravo!

Our stay was great. Hotel was quiet and within walking distance of a little shopping plaza where you could grab essentials if needed. Jose at check in was awesome; he's a breath of fresh air. Breakfast is served until 9:30, but they stayed open until 10. The staff is very good and treated us with care. Definitely recommend this place for a trip.

As I always do when traveling, I inspected the room before unpacking. Unfortunately, I immediately noticed a large number of ants in the bathroom. I called the front desk right away, and about 30 minutes later, the same gentleman came to inspect. He confirmed the ants, said he would spray, and asked if I was staying multiple nights so he could move me the next day. Since I was only there for one night, I told him no, and he said he’d be back with spray. Hours later, around 9:30 PM, I left the hotel and saw him again. I mentioned that no one had come to spray yet and asked that no one enter my room while I was gone since I have asthma and needed to know what chemicals would be used. When I returned around 2 AM, a different front desk associate—who was also very kind and professional—immediately offered to move me to a new room, which I appreciated. However, when I got to the new room, I found ants again—this time on the tables, counters, and even on some of my belongings. What disappointed me most was that this issue could have been resolved much sooner. Once the first clerk saw the extent of the ants, he should’ve offered to move me right away. While the staff was friendly, the lack of cleanliness and prompt action really m

The staff was nice and attentive and the rooms were clean. The location is nearby a bunch of food spots. The beds were very uncomfortable and the AC was loud and clicking the whole night. It made it a bit uncomfortable and difficult to sleep.

I gave it a 4 because they were attentive to my requests. However, it was not a perfect stay. I had to switch rooms upon arrival because first one smelled of smoke and air freshener. The following day I notices my second room had a trail of very small ants along 1 wall. They did quickly send a up a nice staff member to treat it with a natural solution as not to create fumes. The lounger in room needs to be retired due to wear. Overall, the hotel is clean and has modern fixtures. Clean pool. The breakfast has many quality options and bean ground coffee. Be sure to try the warm cinnamon buns. The location has plenty of shopping, movie theater, & some restaurants (Chili's nearby). I'm hoping my room issues were a fluke, and I'm just glad I got a good rate.

Hotel was clean and quiet. Housekeeping installed the shower liner incorrectly so I had to reinstall it correctly so it wouldn’t leak everywhere. Also, toilets are so short. I get kids stay there a lot but too short for normal adults. I’m only 5’4 and it was too short for me so get bigger toilets

This is a hotel in my home area that I've stayed at before. It's one of only two "modern" hotels in a town with several older, remodeled motels. This property is great, except for the WiFi. In the morning before 11 am checkout, I couldn't get a working signal on any device anywhere to save my life. I left by 8:30 am to go to a local coffee shop to get work done.

We had a fantastic time staying at this hotel. Check-in and checkout were a breeze. It’s conveniently located near Legoland. The room was exactly as described and pictured. They offer a delightful breakfast spread. The bed was comfortable, but it was a bit too high, especially for families with young children. I had to barricade the bed to prevent my two-year-old from falling. Unfortunately, room 203 had mold on the wall near the floor lamp, which wasn’t noticeable unless you moved the chair. We tried texting the provided number to request a toothbrush, but we didn’t receive a reply. Additionally, the phone in the room didn’t work; it wasn’t connected to the front desk or room service. Despite these minor issues, we will definitely be returning to this hotel.

We went up to Lake Wales for a long weekend, looking to relocate to the area. The Holiday Inn Express was a great place to stay.

The bathroom was dirty. The toilet has marks from previous guests. Body hair in shower.

We are a family of 4, and we stayed here for 1 week. The staff here get an A++ from us. They were very kind, friendly and willing to help in any way. There was always a smile and a wish for a good day or inquiry as to how you and your day were each time we came and went. The hotel was very clean everywhere we went. Breakfast was good, and there was coffee and cocoa available at all times. There is all the shopping you may need within walking distance. We did however have an issue or 2 that were enough to make us personally look elsewhere for our next visit, we had to move rooms within the first hour of arrival due to the toilet not functioning. The second day we had to have someone come up to the new room and fix the toilet as that one stopped working (all done very quickly and kindly). The pool could use some tlc for sure. It was tinged green on the bottom and sides in places and some of the brickwork was in need of repair. While it wasn’t overly bad, we couldn’t even skim the pool ourselves because the skimmer was ripped/rotted so badly it had no netting to speak of. If you don’t fancy having a pool and maybe the toilets were just bad timing and a fluke, the rest of the hotel was clean, friendly and comfortable.

I had a getaway 8 day stay which was wonderful at this hotel. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming. The staff were always helpful. The inside of the room was outstanding for style and cleanliness. Finally the breakfast was always tasteful and delightful. I highly recommend it

Upon booking I anticipated a room deposit which was added into the trips budget. Upon arrival I was greeted promptly and checked in ok. Then there the deposit i mentioned i was a little taken a back by how high the amount is for my daughter and I. What could we possibly do to destroy your property? The deposit is $50 at every other Holiday Inn express in Florida basically. So i with no hesitation agreed to pay that crazy amount and simply asked for a receipt. That's when your front desk clearks, came at me so aggressively and treated me like I'm under privileged to have a proff of purchase for the$75 charge deducted from my checking account. I'm still in awe/ shock how ill mannered the two men were and still can't provide me with a receipt or an explanation for why i can't have a receipt. I felt like they were going to kick out my 11 year old daughter and I surrounded to the stupidity. I'm incredibly disappointed with this situation and still don't understand why they acted so mean and aggressively towards us.

I wish I could remember the young lady who worked the breakfast area on Thursday morning by herself. She deserves special kudos for her attention to detail. Everything from making sure the food was replenished, to ensuring the hotel guests had every thing they needed. She kept the breakfast tables immaculate as well as the rest of the sitting area. Breakfast items were arranged and organized with the utmost of care and cleanliness. The food area was constantly cleaned and wiped down. Not one crumb of food anywhere. She made sure the bread and bagels were arranged "just so". Everything was perfect! The fresh fruit display, everything. Her wonderful personality and warm smile greeted the guests, including me, with a sense of happiness. What a wonderful way to start the day. I saw her three mornings. She is impressive. One can tell she loves what she does and most importantly, she loves taking care of people. What an asset! My room was clean and well maintained. The bathroom mirror! What a great mirror! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. This has nothing to do with the cleanliness of the room, but I wish the room had a regular chair instead of one of those chase chair things. That's just a personal preference, however. I highly recommend this location. I will certainly stay there again.

Floor outside of the elevator was dirty with mulltiple stains. Breakfast was served on foam plates which made breakfast expieroence even worse. Scrambled eggs had a textue of fine crumbs. Hotel looks old and beat up. Night before we stayed in a hotel in similar price range and that hotel was amazing comparing to this one.

My room was dirty, but because my daughter and I arrived late after her volleyball tournament, we were too tired to find other lodging. Plus, everything in the area was booked due to the tournament. But had I not been, but if I had any other options, I would have left. The first thing we noticed was hair in the bathtub. The caulking around the tub was in bad need of some bleach. The carpet was dirty too. I was wearing white socks and they were filthy after walking around the room. There was dried up food on the tray under the coffee maker. There was dust on the top edge of the backsplash in the bathroom. Which tells me it had not been wiped for a long time. The TV had very few channels, and no other options except an attached DVD player. The only good thing I can say was the staff was friendly, and the breakfast had a lot to choose from.

GREAT STAY

It was a quick stay had no issues. Breakfast was decent.

the beds were too high, especially for short people and handicap people that were traveling with us. It was a struggle to help my elderly parent get in the bed.

Beautiful place

Malik was very welcoming and professional. He greeted my family and I with a smile. He was very helpful with directions and recommended places to eat. The property was very clean.

Malik, who staffs the front desk, is amazing at his job. Very friendly and helpful.

Check in was seamless, the room was clean and the property looked well maintained.

Very happy with this hotel in general. Customer service was exceptional, as was the breakfast and the rooms. There was a problem with the toilet but other than that, everything was very good.

The area is Great next to strip mall with plenty of businesses. The hotel is spotless. Everything was just perfect. And the front staff have excellent customer service. Always someone at the front desk. And the coffee and breakfast was delicious. Best hotel I’ve been in awhile. I have no complaints everything was awesome

Perfect for what was needed.

Rooms are clean Great breakfast…not like other hotels. Usually free breakfast is not that good and this place had items stocked and warm and everything was great!

This hotel was very nice!!! It even had hand soap in the bathroom. There was plenty of space to hang your bag and set out your suitcases and the breakfast looked amazing!

Cleanliness was fine as standard as should be expected of any hotel; however, if you have pets, this place was TERRIBLE. Not only do you not know the policy upfront, you can’t have more than ONE weighing no more than 30lbs! That’s basically a large cat! Overall, this hotel is not pet friendly and if you do have more than one pet they charge you $30 per pet per night. It’s absurd; also complaints about keeping your pets quiet even though people are slamming doors down the hallway and snapping and clicking, and yelling, especially at night and getting a phone call about how you need to keep your pets quiet, even When the clientele are actually the ones being rude.

There was no pork substitute. The first holiday inn I went to with no pork substitutions. The toilet in my room overflowed and flood my room up. The fire alarm also went off for no reason . I can’t believe I paid for this.

I stayed due to my work truck being in the shop, I stayed 2 days and really enjoyed it! The hotel is clean and quiet, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast selection was good but not really to my liking, there is a gas station, IHop, McD's, and other places nearby to get food. There is a Kohl's within feet of the hotel if you need anything as well. I was at peace & felt safe during my stay and would be happy to stay again if in the area.

Comfy bed but my sheets had either dried makeup or something and was so tired I just let it go at that point.

This was our second time at this hotel and it was lovely. The breakfast is to die for, not just a waffle maker or cereal. Hot foods and pancakes, fruits, pastries, breads and don’t forget the juices.

Very relaxing and Quiet night

Clean, breakfast was good.

Our floor in our room was soaking wet. They don’t know how it was so wet. Had to have a floor blower all night in the room to try to dry it up. Then we found a dead cockroach in our bed. We were unable to be moved from the room to another due to the hotel being sold out. We slept and left first thing in the morning. The hotel said they would give us a 50% refund our stay. We are waiting for the funds to be returned. The staff member at the counter was amazing. He was so nice and tried his hardest to accommodate us.

the rooms are clean, good breakfast. We had a few nights that getting hot water was an issue.
