When I booked the hotel it was saying that property has a pool and jacuzzi, but wasn't there. Really disappointed ,especially if you have kids.

The Black staff member is very rude, unpleasant, and incompetent—the kind of employee who does not reflect well on IHG.

Standard girl overall, reasonably priced for the area but the beds were on the more comfortable side than most girls so that was appreciated. Hot tub and pool are filled in, they aren't listed on here but were listed elsewhere so there was some confusion prior to arriving.

The only good thing was the cleanliness. The front desk service was terrible and lacked any willingness to help. The breakfast is very basic, much inferior to other similar chains. Additionally, the sheer curtain in the room was torn and poorly cut with scissors. Those signs of neglect really take away from the quality of the place.

Amazing hotel with an amazing view upon entry and exit,staff was very eager to help and were very welcoming, breakfast was excellent every morning. Beds were very comfortable to sleep on and had no bad smells or stains. Very quiet and safe area with lots of food options. Would recommend ✨

The room was clean and the pillows and bed were so comfortable. The area was quiet and we felt so rested the next morning. We loved the breakfast that was waiting for us early the next morning as well.

No They moved the check in time from 3 to 4 pm. Pool and jacuzzi was not there. Booking info was outdated.

The base of the toilet was leaking rusted water (or something else). I complained, but was ignored. Then, I found a $10.00 unknown charge on my card used for the deposit. I am working to understand.

The breakfast buffet was missing some items, like a working pancake machine, the potato tray was empty during my stay. I thought they had a pool here. I didn’t see one the room, however, was very clean and comfortable. I’ll drop it off.

During my stay, the manager sent me a welcome message and mentioned that I could reply if I had any issues. I responded to that message to ask whether this information was accurate, but unfortunately, I never received a reply. That said, the hotel itself is very nice, and the breakfast was quite good. I would stay here again. I just wish I had received clarification, as I still don’t know whether the information I was given was correct.

We stay here a couple times a year to visit family nearby. Always a clean and pleasant refuge for the night.

Pool was closed the whole time we were there. They did not inform us of this before check in. We would have stayed somewhere else had we known. We booked this hotel to have a spa after my daughter played a tournament. No hot tub, no tub in room. We have stayed at this location many times in the past. First time I have been seriously disappointed. If you are not going to offer the amenities that are advertised, you should inform guests before they check in.

The eggs were cold and the food not refilled in a timely manor. The room was fine. The check in could have gone smoother, but the kid was new and I'm sure will improve with time.

Stayed here for vball tournament. Staff friendly. Common areas clean. Double room was perfect for an overnight stay. Clean and Beds comfy. Bathroom shower drained well. Room stocked w enough towels. Coffee 24/7 was AWESOME. Breakfast was good. Lots of free parking. Very close drive to CLAVA and shopping area. Walking distance to good sushi, Starbucks, bakery, gas station, and Mediterranean dining. Price very good compared to other nearby hotels. Would def stay here again. Thanks!

Breakfast was underwhelming. The turkey sausage links looked like they've had a hard life, dried out and spikey. The staff were nice and friendly enough. Good location with restaurants next door. Clean with nice amenities like a pool and spa. First times at Holiday Inn Expresses and will seek them out since they do seem better than other options in the mid range.

The workers seemed happy to be there, which made for a pleasant experience. The room was clean and had eco friendly toiletries. The complimentary breakfast had lots of different choices. Also, when we ran into an issue with the juice dispenser it was promptly resolved by the staff. Overall the stay was nice and I would definitely return.

The room was comfortable and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was the worst! Coffee was barely lukewarm, the hot food looked like it had been sitting out for a couple of days, and selection was low. The bagel I ate was stale.

This hotel is always a pleasure to stay at. The gentleman who checked us in was very personable and helpful. He remembered me from my last stay and gave me a room where I requested. The room is always very well presented; clean, comfortable and quiet.

The strong chemical fragrance in the hotel was overwhelmingly. It was in the lobby, elevator and hallways. It would be better if it was a natural fragrance or no fragrance at all.

Stayed at this Hotel after having surgery. It was quiet, convenient and close to everything we needed!

They were painting the 2nd floor and our room had a strong chemical smell. My husband mentioned this to the person working the desk and they sent someone up to check. The person told my husband they didn’t smell anything and they acted like we were exaggerating.

Breakfast was just ok. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels and this was not my favorite. The fried eggs were kind of rubbery, the pancake machine was broken, and there weren’t a lot of bread options BUT I’m still super grateful for a free breakfast and it was very clean. Overall a great experience and we would stay here again!

Great stay. We were in town for a volleyball match just down the road. Breakfast ready early with great variety. Room comfy, bathroom and shower large and clean. Very quiet at night. Starbucks in the parking lot along with couple other restaurants that we didn’t try. Nothing fancy as most HIE hotels aren’t, but just what we needed for a quick overnight. Definitely stay here again when playing at Clava.

Stayed 2 nights for a volleyball tournament. King suite, spacious, with a desk and 2 sitting chairs. Pretty comfortable bed, although I did call front desk at 11pm to ask for a blanket and was told that there were none and that the front desk was too busy at the moment to help me which was strange to be busy so late at night in this area? I could have easily walked down to front desk to grab a blanket but that apparent wasn't an option. Anyway, quiet location just off of the toll road. Good breakfast ready at 6:30am which was convenient for us. No Netflix or streaming capability just regular cable. WiFi was spotty. Very small parking lot but parking was free so no complaints. Starbucks in same parking lot which was helpful, as well as a few restaurants (sushi, Mediterranean/pizza) within walking distance. All in all good for what we needed, which was a quiet place to sleep central in OC.

We stay a few times a year when we need to go to CA. It is a comfortable hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nourishing and included as is the parking. The hotel is convenient to the toll road and there are dining options close by.

Courteous employees, spotless installations. Crew worked hard even during holidays. Rooms look new, lots of power outlets with USB-A connectors. Shampoo/conditioner/hand wash and moisturizer are all Dove. Good breakfast. Well maintained overall. I understand it is a low crime area however I’d love to have a combination safe in the room. I come from a dangerous country, so I guess it is more on me rather then the hotel.

The total length of my stay were 8 nights. For the price charged, I'd say the hotel went beyond my expectations. I had a great stay at Holiday Inn Lake Forest. Todd and Amy at the front desk were super friendly and made sure I had everything needed for a great stay. Overall the room was comfortable and spacious. The TV was very good, it has cox cable service with several different channels to chose. There's an office table with a good chair, which makes it easy and comfortable If you have to work on your computer for longer hours. I found specially nice there was a minibar, cabinets, coffee machine, microwave theres plenty of storage for food, and for your clothes on the drawers. Breakfast was good. There were healthy options such as: egg white omelet, low carb yogurt, oatmeal and fruit. Would definitely stay there again. The only two things I'd mention that could be better. The hot tube was not working, the pool area could use some better furniture. It'd be nice to have a sun lounger or something... The a/c in my room was a bit noisy.

I absolutely love Todd at the front desk and all other employees I've had contact with at this hotel. They're not just great employees who are professional in every way, they're just lovely people.

Excellent places

This is in a nice area of Lake Forest, equidistant between 241 and I-5/405. It's quiet, safe and surrounded by nice little shops for breakfast and evening.

The fridge was broken in the room. The breakfast was ok but the dinning area for it was pretty small. They had the ice machine and water machine on oppositie sides of the hotel. It would make more sense for them to just be next to each other. Overall the location was close to shopping and food so that was convienent. The staff were all nice as well.

This will always be my go-to hotel when visiting the Lake Forest/Mission Viejo area. The people who work at this hotel in every function are wonderful, the best!

Property in poor condition

Great place to stay. Good, fast breakfast. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. I will be returning.

We like the beds they use but this was our second trip back and we won’t stay again. The toilet had issues. Did not fill with water. We had to put our hands in the disgusting tank and try to fix it ourselves. We called the office and they didn’t have anyone to look at it. We will find another hotel next time.

Overall a great place to stay. It's a quiet area and you'll have to drive to get most places. Clean. Would go again.

Wasn’t allowed to check in until about 2 hrs after the posted check in time, was told room wasn’t ready. Kept being told 20-30 more minutes. When we got to the room we found a cork from a bottle in one of the lampshades so pretty sure the room wasn’t cleaned very well. Pool looked greenish and not very clean. Used to love staying here, but will probably look elsewhere next time.

Everything was good the staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing was that my room smelled like cigarette smoke when I first walked in. It went away after i turned on the air-conditioning.

I reserved a room on Orbitz with two queen double beds, and when I arrived at the hotel, an hour later, I was told they only had rooms with single king beds remaining. Since I had booked using a third party, they could not provide a refund or provide any other options than the King bed room at the same rate.

We were greeted with a smile and felt welcomed. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really yummy. We would not hesitate to book again if we were ever in the area.

Todd and his team provided such great customer service to me during my stay. The rooms were ample and bed very comfy.

Appears they have done some upgrades, but the elevator was scary, and the touch up paint in the room didn’t match the first color.

The location of this hotel is really good since it's next to a Starbucks, and El Toro and Portola Plaza are short drives away. Checking in and out was quick and easy. Francisca went above and beyond in making the room spotless when my friend and I got there. Shoutout to Todd for the wonderful breakfast every morning as well! I'd definitely stay here again.
