Reviews
Guests generally enjoy the Polynesian hotel for its proximity to Magic Kingdom, beautiful grounds, and friendly staff. However, there are mixed reviews about the cleanliness, room quality, and food.
- Convenient location to Magic Kingdom
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Inconsistent cleanliness and room quality
- Poor food quality for the price

I couldn't recommend the Polynesian Resort more. We have wanted to stay here for YEARS, and finally made it happen for a quick weekend trip. This resort is so inviting. The dining options, transportation, rooms, and lobby make it one of the absolute best I've stayed with!

The proximity of our building was one that was a bit far from the main lobby area so trying to get there took some walking time and the elevator was so small our luggage cart just barely fit!

Was informed that our luggage would be sent to our room from valet holding area as soon as room was available. This did not happen and in fact we had to wait in our room 25 minutes for the luggage to arrive rather than meeting friends as we planned to do. However, the lost and found service was excellent and a lost stuffed animal was retrieved and granddaughter was thrilled .

Everything was great. Just one area that was not nice. The hotel is a wooden building and the rooms areas are two story. We had a kid on the floor above us that was running inside the room for hours , at night time. Made very annoying and difficult for us to sleep. Called front desk but got an answering machine. Recommendation probably is to get a second floor room to avoid this.

My family really enjoys a great Disney vacation. We decided to splurge and lodge at Disney's Poly resort. The natural surroundings are absolutely stunning. Of course the cast members are so welcoming and greet everyone in style. The dining options are delicious and different. My boys really enjoyed

I was transferred from the Polynesian resort to the Yacht club. I was not informed of the transfer until I drove 13 hours to get there. I paid over $1300. for a room at Polynesian and I expected to stay there. Please make sure that credit my charge card because the Yacht club charged my credit card for the stay also.

The hotel itself was nice. Very clean. Check in was fast although we arrived at 730am. No line. We asked about an upgrade, they gave us one, our room was ready around noon. They do have a 100 hold on your card which was fine and I knew about before hand but every single time we made a purchase the added and additional 100 hold, it was a bit excessive I called my bank and they reversed back those additional charges. At some point they had about 400 dollars hold on my debit card, if you are sticking with a budget it can be inconvenient. Next time I won't put a card on file. 100 hold is fine. 400 is not. Pool was good. Monorail was down for a long time which was frustrating, we decided the higher cost of the monorail resort was worth it for such a short trip with an infant and preschoolers with strollers. We ended up having to take the busses and it was a hassle, we missed our fast pass and dining reservation because we didn't know the monorail was down. We also were given late check out. The monorails made the short trip not worth the price of the hotel in my opinion

Disney’s Polynesian Resort is a nice place for both kids and adults. The tiki bars were a lot of fun and close to the kids pool area which is nice so that the kids can enjoy themselves while the parents can enjoy a tiki drink! The staff are courteous and helpful. The nachos are amazing! The rooms are clean.

We decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay at the Polynesian as it was our special anniversary. We had reserved a theme park room. When we arrived at the resort we were greeted by Jim at check in who was lovely. Jim managed to upgrade us as a gift for our anniversary. He got us a room in the concierge block with club level. To enter the Hawaiian block you have to use your magic band. Our room was on the 2nd floor and looked out onto the Castle. It was beautiful. The room was very comfortable with two queen beds and a huge bathroom with all the toiletries. We used the club level facilities for dinks and nibbles. At night we stayed in our room and slid our full length window back and watched the fireworks from there as they also play the music to Happily Ever After into the resort. In the morning we had breakfast which is continental based. I would thoroughly recommend this resort. Even if we hadn’t had an upgrade it would still have been a beautiful stay.

Our bands didn't work to open the door, there was information missing, there was a pair of shoes left in the room that no one ever came and got even though we called and told them, the Ohana restaurant was late even with a reservation, the waiter was too busy to attend to us properly and Stitch never visited our table. The Luao was hokey with fake leis that made us itchy, poor quality food and definitely not worth $80 a person we paid. None of the staff seems to care and for the price...that is extremely disappointing and we felt as if we had been robbed.

Took 30 minutes for registration and room to be ready at 3:15 with no offer to take luggage and deliver when room was ready. Then 4 different staff sent us to 4 different places for food n drink. All were either closed or no alcoholic beverages. Finally, around 4:30 that only had appetizers. A very bad beginning to our vacation

When I checked in nobody really greets you or gives you instructions of how everything works. You have to do reservations for dinning one or two days in advance because everything is booked. There is no activities for children in the hotel besides the pool. Staff always with an attitude. Nobody is available to help you with you bags ever. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

On-line check in and using your magic band as your room key made this the easiest check in ever! The Ohana Character breakfast was fun...the characters were super as always and having a set menu brought to your table sped things up, but the food was so-so and there was a lot of waste. Ditto for the luau. Great performances. The fire knife dancer was fabulous. The food was also so-so. Our server at the luau was beyond excellent. Pool area is super nice, but closing at 8 PM just too early!

The decor adds to a relaxing vacation feel. So convenient! Location is so perfect! Loved the marina view out our front room. They shuttled my mom to airport free of charge. Nice perk! Staff so friendly and accommodating. If you don’t make dinner reservations in advance it can be tricky to find a good meal so make your dinner reservations.

We have stayed at multiple deluxe and moderate Disney resorts and never have we needed to complain about the conditions of the room and building. We stayed at the Polynesian several years ago, and were so looking forward to returning. But what a disappointment! House keeping is certainly lacking if non-exsistantt. The elevator and main hallways were absolutely disgusting; debris, used band aides, dropped food particles, and the list could go on. Appeared as if the floors hadn’t been vacuumed in days, or walls wiped down if ever. Will not be returning to the Poly- sadly.

We were looking forward to this trip as this is a old classic resort which Walt had some say in designing. When we arrived, they upgraded us to Club Level. We were SHOCKED and excited. We had access to a lounge with free finger food and drinks all day long. Room itself was a non remodeled one. Still nice clean room, but was hoping to enjoy a remodeled room. The Service was great. Having the Monorail was convenient. Plenty of food options. Pool area was a bit crowded, but nice. View at night from Beach Area of Magic Kingdom Fireworks was awesome. YES, the resort is on the old side. Some parts look dated, but to us Disney Fans, it is part of history. And it did not bother us at all. If you want ultra modern and updated, maybe try Contemporary Resort or for super luxury, the Four Seasons. Also, i would not spend the $800+ a night for Club Level. The Lounge food was not enough to call it a meal. Club Level rooms are the same as others. I guess having a concierge is nice, if you use them. We did not. We would stay here for sure down the road and recommend it. It is a classic Disney Resort which everyone should experience.

The Lounge food was not enough to call it a meal. Club Level rooms are the same as others. I guess having a concierge is nice, if you use them. We did not. We would stay here for sure down the road and recommend it. It is a classic Disney Resort which everyone should experience.

I wanted to take my children to Not So Scary Halloween. I was able to book this room and purchase tickets to the evening party. We were so pleasantly surprised how nice and large the room was and so convenient to get to the Magic Kingdom. It was perfect for our get away. I will return to this resort as of now it is my new favorite resort. Thank you Disney World for helping me make memories with my small children.

Property seems dated and needs a remodel. The entrance to our building was directly under a smoking porch so we always had to walk by smokers coming and going

The Polynesian Village Resort is definitely convenient to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I'm not sure if the facilities are worth the $500/night charge. Service in the stores, coffee stand and restaurants is slow. The hotel is clean, but dated.

Great location. Nice staff. Good food/performance at Luau. Room was facing parking lot/monorail so not a great view of either the pool area or lake. Enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

No it was nice. It's not my favorite location at Disney but we want to try them all.

Had a late flight and requested a late check out because of having small babies. Request was denied. Only asked for extra 2 hours.

Rooms are ok, clean but outdated. Dark carpets, dim lighting, wood like paneling and heavy curtains make the room feel gloomy and dusty Only had dinner once at the hotel restaurant, we dined at Kona cafe. Again we had 2 kids under 3 and were seated directly under the AC vent. We were all extremely cold. Even if we were to have put on sweaters our food was getting ice cold the second it was placed in the table so none of us were able to enjoy our meal. Based on this I can't even rate the food. Hotel staff, front desk, bell services, magic express, luggage check staff were all amazing Will definitely be back in Disney but will not be staying at the Polynesian village

Wonderful experience. Everyone was so helpful and genuinely nice. So much to do. Had a beautiful room. Large and very comfortable. Beautiful view over pool and gardens. It was hard to get reservations for dinner though. But had lesser alternatives.

You can tell the hotel rooms need an update and the elevators, for the price of the room I expected much better. I will not go back. The bed was very hard and the pillows were terrible. While the bathroom was updated, the carpet was very worn and the furniture was old. I was disappointed. The only wonderful thing was the staff, they were all absolutely wonderful and lived up to the Disney reputation.

The service was disappointing. Disney resorts are always top notch but we were not treated very well by the staff and several small details that make Disney resorts magical were neglected.

My family of 4 and I arrived to the Polynesian around 10:30 AM Christmas Eve and were completely ecstatic to have our room ready prior to the 3:00 PM check in time. The room was beautiful. Large bathroom, little hidden Mickey's for my 8 year old to find, and a private patio. The pool area was a quick 1 minute walk away, with easy access, a fun play area, infinity hot tub, and popular with my kiddos water slide. We watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach that night and enjoyed all of Christmas Day basking in the pool with cocktails and Dole Whip Floats (a must try).

The Cast Members were warm, welcoming and friendly on every level. The housekeeper was amazingly gifted (towel animals most days) and such a beautifully themed and perfectly located and maintained resort. Lots of inclusive entertainment for children and super pools.

W love the Polynesian. We've stayed there several times with our family and always had a great experience. The staff, from beginning to end were warm, helpful and welcoming. The property is ideally situated with a view of the Magic Kingdom and easy access to transportation. The pool/ water playground was great fun for the kids and an ideal way to relax and cool off after a day at the parks. I would highly recommend the Polynesian, and the Club Level in the Hawaii building also offers a large area where your family can gather and get continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and light dinner as well as adult beverages.

You're staying at Polynesian for its centrality to the parks. As far as the hotel goes, we were a bit underwhelmed. If we wanted Four Seasons quality we would have stayed off site but we were hoping for some semblance of a $500+/night hotel. The lobby is fun and kitschy but the restraunts leave much to be desired. The hallways leading to our rooms were dirty old carpet and the rooms were dark and outdated. The pools are nice and quiet enough for time off from the parks with kids. Again, you can't ask for a better location on the monorail and we are glad we stayed close by with our 2 year old. Jist don't expect more than a 2-3 star hotel experience.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We loved that this hotel was on the monorail with easy ride to the Magic Kingdom. Pool is great for kids with play area for small kids and a water slide for older ones. Hotel is very clean and well maintained. We will definitely come back.

This hotel was a disappointment. We paid half the price for the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which was wonderful with a savannah view. For the Polynesian, we got a partial view of the beach with bushes blocking our first floor room. The hotel is in need of updating. The room décor was outdated. You could hear the kids running across the room above ours. I felt like we were in a cheap motel. We arrived at 10:30, but our room was not available to us until 1:00. I noticed the bottoms of our coffee mugs were dusty, so that means, if they aren't used, they are never washed. Do you know how many people could have touched those? Greetings and friendly staff were lacking compared to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The only nice thing about this hotel was the monorail to the Disney parks.

The Polynesian Resort is amazing. The grounds make you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable with incredible views of the property. The close proximity to the Magic Kingdom is an additional perk - you can choose to use the monorail or tender boats. Food choices are great from casual counter service to family style authentic cuisine. The pool area is a great spot to visit on a hot day. Slides, pool games for the kids and a perfect view of the Great Ceremonial House.

you are paying for location, not quality of room or service. its a basic hotel room with typical amenities just really close to magic kingdom, hence the price. it was not especially clean, they never changed the linen in 7 nights, and got angry if we slept in. but the grounds are nice and you have a resort boat service to get to and from the magic kingdom. room walls were quite thin and i always could tell when the family in room above was in room.

Our family of four, 2 adults and 2 children, stayed for a week over spring break. Being our first time at the Polynesian we weren't sure what to expect. The room was a good size and we were pleased with the accommodations. We were excited to stay at a hotel on the monorail for easy access to MK, but discovered the 10 minute boat ride to be an even better perk.

Wonderful vacation! The grounds were beautiful and the monorail was so convenient. The buses to and from the parks were a bit of a pain as they were way too crowded. Each resort really needs their own bus (Polynesian shares with Grand Floridian)

The gardens are nice. The walk to the Grand Floridian is short if you have dinner reservation. This hotel is very dated. Even with the many updates and refurbishments it still feels like a old brown motel from the South. While we were there, the monorail was out of order for two days.
