The Sky View Inn

So many bugs. No heater in the living room.

It was the best intro to Lake Arrowhead in terms of accomodation. The view was amazing! The sea of clouds cam be seen right at the balcony or your windows. I also love how soft the bed and pillows were. And the place is in walkable distance to Eddie Lou's pizza. Very well situated.

The beautiful view of nature and is not far away from things to do. The place was huge and had everything we needed. Thank you!

This is a rustic experience. Don’t expect central heating or AC. The space does regulate temperature well enough but do bring firewood for the heating stove. Overall, great stay!! Will comeback for sure

The property is not brand new, but there were no broken furniture or dirty carpets as mentioned in earlier reviews. There was no carpet in the room. The place has more of a Bead and Breakfast feel than a hotel. The Hostess was very kind and knowledgeable about the area and gave good recommendations for meals. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Pros; location, proximity to restaurants and entertainment was prime, scenery was incredible. Cabins had plenty of room and were supplied with anything you could think of! Staff was super hospitable, just a great experience. Cons and I have a hard time writing this; some of the carpet and cloth furniture was dingy. Maybe replace with hard floors and update fabric furniture to vinyl for easy cleaning and an Updated look. There were some hairs that were overlooked in the bathroom. I ended up cleaning it.

Literally felt like home in the best way possible. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good (but not complementary). The view is amazing and like nothing I've seen. 100 percent staying here again.

This property is in a very good location. However, the property is very outdated. The cabin that we stayed in did not feel very clean. Not sure that I would ever stay here again.

The perfect snow filled weekend! From the outset Darcy took care of my family. We did sledding, snowman building, puzzles, and hot cocoa. The breakfast on the weekend by her husband was amazing! The view is a memory stamped in my mind forever! Memories made for sure! Thanks!

Our comfort was obviously a priority at the Sky View Inn is appropriately named. The view was gorgeous. The location is great for proximity to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear snow experiences.

Very pleasant stay. Room was clean and spacious-great views from room 102. Only complaint was the TV. Not sure if it was due to the connection, but didn’t work well. Breakfast was also very good and reasonably priced. Went to Lake Arrowhead the next morning-very close by.

Beautiful, cozy stay in the Retreat cabin. We didn’t get a chance to experience the onsite breakfast due to a private event but our stay was wonderful nonetheless

As far as breakfast goes- the credit didn’t benefit us as it only is available on the weekends. We stayed in suite #103. It was easy to park, and easy to access/locate. Check in process was simple, no lengthy interaction was had.The room has minor essentials: bedding, soap, small set of dishware and keurig coffee maker with some pods and packets. The room was clean, but as we entered (and multiple times thereafter) the kitchen sink would gurgle and the smell of sewage would arise. We also quickly noticed the futon bed at the end of the king bed was crazy wobbly to sit on (by the night of day one it collapsed in the middle). This was obviously not a new issue as it only had one peg strategically placed to keep it upright. We told the innkeeper about both issues. We were told it’s on the fix list and it happens when the laundry room is used. The king bed squeaks with any movement. We also noticed the chairs outside pop apart so easily. I think it’d be unsafe for a guest over 200lbs. All in all: we might consider staying here again, but would request a different room with undamaged and useable equipment. As a hospitality host myself I understand how hard it can be to upkeep, but price/amenities should match. Again, the view is amazing. That alone makes it worth it.

Our room was really nice and big. Had a great view of the valley and our stay was so quiet. We ate breakfast each day on the patio overlooking the valley. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. Darcy took great care of us and I would rebook this place in heartbeat!

A great stay start to finish! I got in very late, but they left a nice note with directions and my room key. The room was perfect for me, and the views were incredible. Very friendly and accommodating. 100% will be back.

Our room view was beautiful matching the place name truly. The room is pretty spacious with a cute kitchenette and essential utensils. The issue with the kitchenette was that we could not put any food on the counter surface cause we saw ants on it so we have our snacks on the table and in the closed bag of ours or in the fridge. The sheets are very clean and smells pretty good. The bathroom was just ok we spot a few dead insects in the bathroom but since we were in the middle of the forest we expected that so it was fine. The shower was really great but the water pressure was pretty low compare to the kitchen mostly when you turn the water temp up. The in room Jacuzzi was fun and it was very clean. The heater was not working so they gave us another one. The carpets are not really clean but understandable again. There was no phone in the room so basically you have to go to the reception when you need something or just call their number with your cell. The main reason im not giving a higher star is basically because we saw a rat coming down of our fireplace on the 2nd night and they were full so they could not offer us any other room and we had to drive back towards home at 10 PM. cause i could not sleep where i know there is a rat. They refunded us for that night but it changed our next day trip plan as we wanted to explore the area more next day.

This cabin was beautiful!! "Escape" was right on the cliff so the view out the livingroom window and off the deck was incredible, all the way down into Riverside. It was clean and spacious and Ill definitely look to book the same place next time as not all the accommodations up the mountain are as nice.

Very nice and homie. The view was spectacular. The front desk was very pleasant and welcoming. The walls were a little thin for me. Other than that very nice visit. Yes I would recommend to friends and family.

Our room had the most beautiful view, and we enjoyed eating and reading out on the deck. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The room definitely could use some updating and repair, and the walls are very thin so we could hear the people next door on the tv. However, we still had a lovely time and are super grateful for the experience.

We were excited to stay here after seeing a 9.4-star review on Expedia, but our experience was far from what we anticipated. This place is advertised as a cabin with four bedrooms, but it’s actually three bedrooms a loft with beds and a living room. We should have paid more attention to some of the lower-rated reviews. The first red flag was the strong sewer smell we noticed while on the terrace. When we got to the room, we saw holes in the sofa, which was extremely outdated, but didn’t think much of it at first. However, that changed at 11:30 PM when my daughter screamed, and a mouse ran from underneath the toilet, between my legs, and hid under the bathroom cabinets. Upon further investigation we saw the mouse hole and droppings. Other issues were hard to ignore. The AC unit in the master bedroom was surrounded by plywood, and the electrical wiring in the guest bathroom was exposed outside the drywall, though I assumed it might just be how places look in the mountains. The location did offer a nice view of city lights, but it’s right by a busy street, so the noise was constant. I’m not saying all the rooms are bad, but this was our experience, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I contacted Expedia and it got our money back. But that's not the point. We drove in the middle of the night back home spending 3h in traffic due to lines closure. My birthday was ruined and so was my family time. No refund for that.

Room is large enough, but very stuffy since there was no air conditioner. The shower is very small but the bathroom was clean. Parking was excellent. The best thing about this place is the view. The bed was a little soft but someone my like that.

The owners were the ones who greeted us and took care of us. A negative was that our room was upstairs and quite warm. The air cooler was loud and didn't really cool the room sufficiently. But the weather was quite warm. The view is amazing and the breakfasts both mornings were AMAZING. I highly recommend the breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

What a wonderful experience! It felt like home the minute we walked in and met the owner. And she always made us feel welcome and like a guest in her home. The views were amazing as was the food her husband cooked up in the mornings. Our room was perfect with a great little walkout balcony to keep enjoying the amazing view. It was the perfect little getaway for our small family. My kids were obsessed with all the games and puzzles you could help yourself to. Highly recommend and hope to go back!

We loved the convenience to Dogwood Campground where my family was camping. Buuut... the AC unit in our room WAS NOT technically a window unit. It's a portable evaporator unit with an exhaust out the window and an overflow tube inside a 5-gal bucket to catch the water draining. It was so LOUD so we had to turn it off when we slept. But then it got so hot in the room, we turned it on again at 4:00 am! Our room faced the street and you can hear the cars very early in the morning (off Hwy 18) - there's no sleeping in at all. The mirror in the bathroom is in the wrong place. The room wasn't cleaned well. We found a dirty kleenex tossed behind the night stand when we had to plug in the light which was NOT plugged in. However, the bed was super comfortable! Parking was a breeze. Host was nice.

We stayed for one night for a wedding nearby, and it was perfect. Convenient parking and beautiful views right outside our window. The only improvement would be air conditioning in the room - they did have a fan that kept us cool, but I can see it being an issue on longer trips with hot weather. Would recommend this stay.

My room was leaking, the walls were poorly patched, leaking, crumbling and in dire need of repair. If I wasn’t in need of a room I would have left. The couch was very worn and broke down. The shower needs to be redone and would look cleaner. You have no control of the central heat so it was cold so you have to use the portable heaters. It smelled funny too, especially when it started raining. I wish I could post pictures.

Super clean and very quiet. Aqesome bed. We had the suite which had an attached patio with a beautiful view. Good pizza place just 1 min down the road was convenient. And we ordered breakfast from the inn for the morning which arrived on time and was really good for the price. Would for sure come back.

Super clean and very quiet. Aqesome bed. We had the suite which had an attached patio with a beautiful view. Good pizza place just 1 min down the road was convenient. And we ordered breakfast from the inn for the morning which arrived on time and was really good for the price. Would for sure come back.

It is a cozy, familiar, clean place with a beautiful view. Unfortunately there is no phone signal, which I consider important for any emergency, we had to stick to Wi-Fi. I would have liked to have had snow but we had to go up the mountain to find it. The breakfast they offer is delicious.

We had a great experience we stayed as a couple and we weather through the storm felt quite and quaint we got to experience a breakfast which was fabulous it was a little hard to get up there but it was mountain weather and we did follow by the 10:00 curfew quiet time but we didn't have any issues when we stayed upstairs in the main house wonderful experience recommended and booked already in advance couple other trips great thank you

The property is clean, the bed is so comfortable! Not the cold feeling a hotel/ motel usually has. Will be back.

Then we tried to login to the wifi network, the login was fine, but the wifi was not connected to the internet. Upon investigation, we found that the coaxial cable connecting to the modem was bent and broken. The back of the modem where it was supposed to connect to the cable was just a hole. So we basically didn't have wifi service. The rest of the cabin is not bad, especially the night view of the valley lights was awesome. If wifi wasn't an issue, it would have been a very nice place.

It was very relaxing weekend. The view from the suite and patio is amazing. Despite the cold rainy weather in January, the room was warm.Tasty breakfast was about $30 for 2 people.

What a great experience, felt like home. Hospitality was excellent. Breakfast with a view was a great way to start your Sunday.

To be honest, I didn’t feel safe staying there. There was no bolt lock on the door or any other lock from the inside. All it had was the one digital lock. I had to put seven chairs and the dining table on the door just incase someone tries to break in. The views were stunning. The sunset over the mountains can be seen from the patio or from our room window.

The family who own the place are the nicest and kindest people I've met. the place is so beautiful with a spectacular view . Meticulously clean and comfortable. the breakfast that serves at weekends is amazing and also you have access to other restaurants close by. I really enjoyed my stay there and hop to go there again in the future .

Loved the sheets and bedding; so soft and comfortable! Super friendly employees. Great view. Convenient location; close enough to town for shopping, eating, etc.

We stayed in the Deluxe Room with kitchenette for 1 night. The king bed was comfortable. The shower is a small walk in and the kitchenette is basic with no stove but has a small refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker and dish setting for 2.

Best view you will ever see in your life! I stood on the deck and literally watched the sun go down for two hours. Beautiful place.

The owners were very friendly and the room was neat, with a kitchenette. Nice views, and spacious room. Ordered breakfast as well, which was great! The carpet was a little worn and bathroom was a tight space, but room itself was clean. Would recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy Lake Arrowhead- very close to Skypark Village!

The lady at the front is the best, I forgot my key in my room when I decided to enjoy the view while sipping on my coffee (provided) on a real mug (also provided), and I called her at 7:00 am and she gracefully attended to my needs in a heart beat !

Wonderful, exquisite view! Very, very comfortable bed, and very clean place! The owner and her husband were very, very nice! We will definitely return back to stay for a longer time. We had never been to Skyforest before, and the restaurant owner, and hotel owner made us feel completely at home and comfortable. Breathtaking view from our front window, birds singing outside, and peace and tranquility awaited us at Sky View Inn! It was a one of a kind experience!

Beautiful Family owned and operated Inn!! The rooms are cozy and the view is breathtaking! My party stayed for a weekend night in the Retreat room. Service and staff are amazing, polite, and accommodating! Breakfast on weekend mornings are delicious and well portioned! The inn is also located in a conveniently close to Laker Gregory/Crestline and Lake Arrowhead Village. Highly recommend this stay for anyone in the area!

Nice little hotel in a beautiful area. We had an issue with our room and the management was very responsive to help resolve things.

The Inn was outstanding. The room we stayed in was excellent clean and comfortable. Bob at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed chatting with him . The 2 young ladies were both very kind and friendly with smiles on their faces . The breakfasts were very tasty hats off to the chef he did an outstanding job. The Inn has a million dollar view that you can’t get anywhere else on the mountain. The rates were very reasonable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. The tap water is mountain spring water the same water the you can buy in a bottle . Peter Henck

The room we got didn’t have AC or a fan. It was facing the front so we had no air coming in through the windows. We got a fan but it hardly threw air so we left that first night. The owners weren’t there and the person they left in charge got drunk on red wine so we couldn’t talk to him before we left or when we were going to check out. I called him to his cell and texted him but no answer. The hotel is cute but the heat was unbearable.

Bob, working at the front desk, was so kind. The room was perfect. The view was the best part. Such a sweet find! I will definitely stay here next time I’m in town.

It went downhill since the new ownership. When we visited a few years ago under the name, Sky Forest Inn, it was a B&B and the owner did an excellent job keeping up the place. Now, there needs to be a lot of upgrades and cleaning up in the property. Mold growing in the bathtub and it was gross.

This was a pleasant suprise - I came here for a work trip and it ended up being a really charming little place. I would come back here with my boyfriend.

This place is very charming and has many deck areas to enjoy the awesome views. Nice size rooms, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Whole facility was clean, and nice areas inside and out for social gatherings. Don't plan to eat breakfast anywhere else on the weekend, Richard and Bob make the best breakfast you can get in the area. Will return again and recommend to others.

Bob, the front desk attendant (perhaps manager?) was so kind to my partner and I. I don't think it's standard since we came for one night and it was off season, but he gave us a free upgrade because we wanted a fireplace. It was really above and beyond since annnnnywhere else would have charged us for the upgrade. We were so grateful AND this is how you build relationships with your clientele - we will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful place to stay! Super friendly and helpful service from the owner, amazing views, delicious home cooked breakfast, & the bed we had was soo comfy. I do wish the curtains kept out more sunlight but it was still a lovely way to wake up. The room was very spacious and our kitchenette had the standard dishes that we needed, my only complaint is thatt the shower itself is a little small . It's a beautiful home turned Inn. We were only about 40 minutes away from the city down the mountain. We enjoyed our stay as well as the trip around the area, we would definitely go back!

Exactly what I’ve been wanting. Fresh air, amazing views, comfy bed, good food & drinks. Just the best getaway spot ever.

The room was amazing and breakfast fantastic! There was snow and the views were great! We will definitely be coming back! Darcy and her husband are absolutely wonderful and caring people who really go the extra mile to make your stay that much better! The cabin itself is really easy to get to and even though it's off the main road you don't hear any traffic. I would recommend this place to anyone, you will not be disappointed and they are so thoughtful and accommodating! Can't thank them enough for making the weekend so wonderful and making our stay so special! We were celebrating a birthday and the snow made for an extra special treat so we got to have some fun making a little snowman and snow angels. Can't wait to come back!
