The Saddleback Inn is a historic property with a rustic charm, located in a convenient location within walking distance to Lake Arrowhead Village and its shops and restaurants. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, but some guests have had issues with noise and cleanliness. The rooms are cozy and some have fireplaces and hot tubs, but they can be small and outdated, with thin walls and uncomfortable beds.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Karen at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming. This hotel is interesting and full of character. All of the rooms have western names. We had the Buffalo Bill room and it was so fun. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel added a $30 dollar 'Resort Fee' which was not disclosed when I originally booked the room. Also, there was no ice dispenser, you had to go the the kitchen and ask for a bucket of ice. The restaurant on site was good but way overpriced compared to most of the local eateries.

Each room is in its own separate unit, spaced apart from the others. Every unit has its own private entrance, which gave it a very secluded and peaceful feel. There’s also a small porch in front of each entrance, and being surrounded by the forest made it feel like staying in a cozy cabin. I really loved the privacy and atmosphere. It’s also in a great location right in front of Lake Arrowhead Village, which was very convenient. On Saturdays, they also offer a simple complimentary breakfast. The pet fee is $25

Karen at the front desk was absolutely amazing and helpful. We were just passing by and needed a place to crash but ended up staying two nights because we loved the hotel and found arrowhead to be a fun little town. Also dog friendly which was very helpful! Great place! Highly recommend!

It was adequate, as we were visiting our son who was at a retreat at the UCLA Lodge minutes down the road. We felt the bathroom upstairs was a bit dangerous because it is right next to a stairwell. We also felt the stairs could use some treads on them. The main area when you walk in could use a rug and the mini fridge was super loud for some reason. But the price was right, and the staff seemed nice. There was no telephone in the bedroom to call the staff if you needed anything. Honestly, we didn’t spend a lot of time in the room, so it was fine.

We had a wonderful time over New Year’s Eve. Just a big shout out to the amazing staff including Heather and Kurt. We felt like we were part of the family as you were attentive, caring, sincere, helpful, professional, and Moore. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year and by spending it at saddle back in. I was alone with my three children, and we felt safe as if it was our little Lake Arrowhead cabin of our own surrounded by a community of amazing people and other families we had our dogs with us and we were able to walk pretty much everywhere. Thank you again the bottom of my heart.

First I’d like to say the staff is super friendly. Karen is very nice, helpful and really cares about her guests and the property. The restaurant, for “dinner only” on weekdays was excellent! Good food and good service! Those details are 5 stars. My reason for 3 stars is because of the “extortion fee….sorry, “resort fee”. It’s so very wrong to charge a guest when you enter to check in. $30 for what? There’s no pool that needs help paying for maintenance. No breakfast. The mid tier king room overlooks a 7/11 with a raucous parking lot. We heard all kinds of vocal interactions all night long. So definitely not a “Resort”. Weekday guests that are charged this fee get no breakfast. It’s literally a fee for absolutely nothing and it really made me feel like I wasn’t welcome. Just a wallet. Also…the lake…Lake Arrowhead is a private lake for the uber wealthy homeowners. You can’t even dip a toe in the lake. And the downtown retail/restaurant district is being renovated and it looks as if the construction has halted. We were there on 2 weekdays and saw no one working. This review is dated 8/11-12/2025. Like I said. The staff is great. Even our cabin was nice. I was just completely soured by the “resort fee”. This place is definitely NOT a resort. So to demand $30 upon check in after you already paid for the stay, wasn’t very nice, at all. Stop doing that…at least on a weekday when you don’t offer a breakfast. Shady.

This is a cute and clean Inn, if you’re looking for a place to just sleep and shower while you’re either out exploring Lake arrowhead or working out there. I would consider coming here. It’s very quiet and cozy. The prices are great, and the employees are extremely polite and kind. It is part of the restaurant which they give you a coupon you can use for 20% off your bill. Also it’s located next to a 7/11, walking distance.

A well maintained historic property (1930's?) with a very good restaurant, most entrees $30 to $50. Many of the rooms are in small buildings with one to four rooms each, arranged on a terraced hillside with stone walls, small garden spaces, and a variety of conifers and deciduous trees. We love how easy it is to get to and that parking is available to guests. If you're into the Lake Village Shopping area, it's walking distance to there- shops, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was minimal/simple- pastries, cereal, fruits, coffee, tea. The Inn's restaurant is also in the maon building where our room was- it's quite popular and has a beautiful rustic ambience, which is another convenience for hotel guests. We thought the staff were also very friendly and accomodating.

The workers were friendly but the service was very poor. I called and asked for new towels/sheets and the attendant told me to come to the front desk to pick them up (I’ve never been at a place that doesn’t bring them to your room). Our room felt like an oversized closet. We had a queen bed which was totally fine but we barely had any room to even walk around the sides of the bed. We had a spider come out of our bed sheets (probably because of our door, which would not close unless I slammed it with all my strength). Breakfast was literally nothing but fruit loops cereal, bagels, and juice. It’s wrong to actually advertise that breakfast. Both days we stayed were rough. Would definitely not come here again!

The property had a rustic charm that blended seamlessly with the mountainous surroundings, despite the rooms not being the most modern. The staff was professional in carrying out their duties, although not overly friendly. It was a perfect spot for the family to rest after a day of mountain activities, with only basic continental breakfast offerings such as bread, fruit and cereal.

The staff on this property is fantastic, thank you! Our room was great, we didn’t have any shared walls and it was a stand alone cottage (#35). Small, but had everything we needed for our overnight stay.

I didn't like the breakfast. When I reached , the room was too cold and it took about one hour to get warm. Not so near to Lake, neighborhoods weren't clean

The hotel is well located and cute. But interior of the room is outdated and poorly maintained. Way Overpriced for the quality provided.

Our suite was really nice, felt like our own little cabin. Jacuzzi tub was really warm and cozy on a cold fall night. We ate at the restaurant and i had the best baked rigatoni I've ever had! We will definitely stay again, loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room is large. Unfortunately the room next to us(#31) is divided by a thin door where you can link the two rooms together. The man coughing all night. Right above us, when people walk, we can hear the squeaking sound. Not a good room if you are sensitive to sound from next door or above. The lady who checked us is was very friendly. The room was Ok. The breakfast was just food. The location was great.

The hotel was charming, but could use updates. Karen at the front desk was very helpful and kind to move our room. She is a sweetheart.

This is a super adorable place and the little village its in is absolutely adorable. Anything you’d want within walking distance, or can drive/take a shuttle to surrounding villages. Would visit again!
