We enjoyed our time there, felt safe and clean.
- 5/5
The Hotel is beautiful, clean and close to everything: the impressive SJC Mission, many wonderful restaurants and the train depot. The man behind the counter was very helpful when I checked in.
- 5/5
Staff was very accommodating. Darling place with amazing location. Great value!
- 5/5
Great place to stay for our family trip. Pool was warm. Free access to beach supplies (towels, umbrella, boogey boards, etc) was very helpful. Staff was friendly and helpful. So many things and beach within walking distance.
- 4/5
great location next to downtown, Heisler park and picnic beach :) we walked for eats and took the trolley for a fun ride - loved this property and will def return with the family
- 5/5
Perfect location for proximity to the beach and restaurants. Very walkable community and free parking was a plus .
- 5/5
Awesome
- 4/5
Muy buena atencion, el segundo piso con Bonita vista al mar pero, como no tiene ascensor y nosotros como adultos mayores nos tuvimos q conformar con el primer piso.
- 5/5
Cozy older motel. It was very nice and clean. It was within walking distance to everything in town. We would definitely stay again. The staff was wonderful.
- 5/5
Great location. Checking in was a breeze. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman that checked us in. He was just lovely and had lots of useful information. The lobby also had fresh fruit to grab if you needed a snack. Complementary water and cookies in the room. Great layout, we had a partial view of the ocean. We were only there for one night, but would definitely stay longer next time.
- 5/5
Overall great.
- 5/5
We'd recommend this place as it's only a block away from the beach as well.
- 5/5
The location, the room was very clean! Very tight parking but no big deal honestly
- 5/5
The decor is charming, adorable, and simple in a way that perfectly suits Laguna Beach. They left a sweet handwritten note, and the room was perfectly welcoming with the windows cracked for cool air, and the lamps were on. The bed and pillows were nice and comfy. It does get loud at night with the PCH, people outside, and you can hear people in the next room talking or their music. They provide earplugs, which I didn't feel like wearing. The shower gets hot and has great water pressure. There was a nice-sized closet, dressing room, and vanity table that were convenient for keeping all of the luggage in its organized place. I would be happy to stay here again unless I found a place equally as cute in a quieter area with thicker walls.
- 5/5
Great location! The beach, cafes and restaurants were a short walk from the hotel. And we loved that the room came with a kitchenette so we were able to reheat food. My daughter’s favorite was the pool area. It was clean and had lots of lounge chairs to sit on. It’s small but private and it’s heated! Would definitely come back!
- 4.5/5
We really enjoyed the location. The rooms were very spacious and well stocked. I liked having a room with separation of space. Nothing
- 5/5
Amazing stay great staff
- 5/5
We loved our stay at this hotel! The location was excellent and very walkable, with great restaurants nearby and Laguna Beach Park right across the street. Our second floor room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We can't wait to come back!
- 4/5
fairly economical motel environment , safe and convenient location to explore Laguna Beach. walk across street to Heinsler Park walkways by the ocean. Good pool for the kids.
- 4.5/5
The property was located right in the art district, surrounded by galleries, with restaurants nearby. We were just one block from the beach and the Laguna Art Gallery. There was adequate parking on site—a relief in this busy part of town. The room we had (#109) was large, bright, very clean, and very well cared for. There were various seating choices around the pool, and I loved that the chaises were not too low to the ground. We had some noise issues. Footsteps of the people upstairs were noticeable, and the traffic noise was sometimes annoying. Once we closed the window and the day ended, the traffic noise almost disappeared. And we loved this: the management provided earplugs in case we needed them. They were very thoughtful.
- 5/5
The convenience to Heisler park was perfect! Along with walkable restaurants close and not far from main beach and more shops. The coffee shop across the street was great for grabbing and walking the beach in the morning. I liked that the trolley stop was super close as well! My room had views of the water. I had the best sleep! The bed and pillows were so comfortable! I love the indoor wooden shutters the room has.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our two-night stay at the Tides in Laguna Beach. The hotel is a throw-back to an earlier era and reminds me of the small family-owned beach hotels we visited when I was a child. The location is perfect, just two blocks north of Ocean Drive and directly on the PCH. The property is shielded by a tall ficus hedge. Our second floor "suite" was spacious and very comfortable. The two-room layout included a kitchen and sitting area in addition to a large bedroom and bath. We had a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean from multiple windows. The room was spotlessly clean. The property includes onsite parking, some of it covered which was a big plus. There is a pool with an outdoor patio and lounge area which we didn't use but was well maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We'll definitely return to the Tides on our next trip to Laguna Beach.
- 5/5
Laguna Beach was the first stop on our road trip. The Tidelands property was quaint and very clean. We had a room on the second floor that was very private and spacious. Two extra-long full beds that were very comfortable. It was very walkable to the beach and to the downtown district. Self-parking is included, which is always nice. We loved our stay there and would do it again without question. Hands down a five-star experience with this great property.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Room was very clean, kitchenette was stocked with necessary utensils, location was very good, and staff was very nice. I would say some upgrades are needed and maybe a washing machine would be nice. Walls are thin but when you sleep with a TV on it helps tune out. But all in all, it was a wonderful place to stay and I would definitely stay there again. :)
- 4/5
The Tides at Laguna is across the street from Heisler Park. There are restaurants within walking distance. We had a room on the first floor and put to use the cute porch area outside our door. Room had a tiny kitchen area with dishes, coffee maker and sink. Price for room was decent. Laguna Beach area is gorgeous so we spent most of our time there. Woke up to go on an early morning sunrise walk on the beach. Area felt safe.
- 5/5
Kitchen lacked teaspoons, but was otherwise adequate and also convenient.
- 4.5/5
This is a wonderful gem of a hotel. Let's start with the outside. The property is beautifully landscaped throughout, has a saltwater pool situated in a large pool patio area, and many lounge chairs. The tall shrubbery completely block out the street view. There is also a fire going on the patio at night with ample seating. The hotel offers beach chairs and towels for use at the beach and/or pool. Now, inside. My clean and tidy king room on the first floor was extremely spacious, had a table and two chairs, a large armchair, and kitchenette with a great small fridge, coffeemaker with coffee and fixings, and microwave. A few plates, glasses, utensils, are included. The sheets and towels were of good quality. The good-sized bathroom had a large shower. Outside the unit were two Adirondack chairs and table. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The price is super-competitive with great value. Of course, the location is great near galleries and Heisler Park! I have stayed in other lodging during many stays in Laguna but must say I look forward to returning to the Tides every year! The location is a little noisy as it is situated on Pacific Coast Highway but as I said the view is blocked and the shrubbery/trees also provide a bit of sound barrier. They provide ear plugs, too, but I didn't find the noise too bad. An ice machine would have been nice (I apologize if there was one, I didn't see it--I probably should have asked).
- 5/5
This was our first stay at The Tides and we will be back when visiting the Laguna Beach area. I came to do my first open ocean swim with the LGOWS group at Shaw's Cove. I chose The TIdes because of its proximity to this beach and the price value. My husband and I were smitten. The room was cozy and cute, with country-style furniture and a very comfy bed. The hand-picked welcome gifts brought a smile and warmed our hearts. This takes effort from the staff and it was appreciated. When we come back to Laguna, we will surely stay again.
- 5/5
Parking was secure and close by. Kitchen was well stocked.
- 5/5
Very cute. Room surprisingly large. Close to all the main action in Laguna, much of it in walking distance. Staff very helpful. Parking places are rather narrow and there’s no hot tub, which we missed, but overall great value for the price.
- 5/5
There was nothing we didn’t like
- 5/5
Super friendly staff who went the extra mile with recommendations and a hand written note. Steps away from the beach with plenty of beach equipment available to borrow. Steps away from the beach and free on-site parking. Couldn't have had a better experience!
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
The staff was very good... especially Anderson. The location was excellent but the overall property could use some upgrades. However, we loved our stay and our room was worn but very charming. Our only issue was that during our 3 day stay we never had our room cleaned. Other than that I highly recommend The Tides. We will return.
- 1/5
Laguna is perfection. This sweet hotel makes it even more perfect.
- 5/5
Customer friendly well msintained
- 4/5
Location good, on-site parking good, cleanliness very good, late check-in handled well. Would not advise room 203, dark and dungeon like and bathroom floor has badly deteriorated from water damage overlaid by newer floor covering.
- 5/5
Parking included is amazing when other properties in the area charge extra and some even require valet now when they did not in the past. Nothing to dislike. Everything was great
- 5/5
Great pool
- 5/5
Great place! Perfect location
- 5/5
Very cute motel. Great location!
- 4/5
The property is located on PCH so there is a little noise from the traffic at night. But on the other hand it is a short walk across the street to paths leading to the Beach. Our room allowed us a partial ocean view which we enjoyed. The property is older, but well maintained. We stay here frequently. One word of advice the showers are small, I am tall at 6'6" and showering is an adventure. The location more than makes up for this small inconvenience. Our room is one with a full kitchen and dining and sitting area. Great for a stay at the beach. Parking is provided but is tight.
- 5/5
Cute beach cottage feel. Very pleasant and welcoming staff. Dog friendly. Close and easy access to beach and downtown Laguna,
- 5/5
The hotel was close to the beach and the surrounding businesses. We loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the cool weather. The swimming pool was heated and clean. It was peaceful and relaxing that my kids want to return there again.
- 4/5
Decent property. Very helpful staff. Clean room but furniture is simple and dated. Biggest complaint is the tight and limited parking, which seems to be the norm for the area, but make sure to try and get a 2nd floor room as the building is not well insulated for noise. I heard every step taken above my room. Being right on PCH adds to the noise, hence why they provide ear plugs.
- 5/5
This place was great! Staff so welcoming and had beach towels for us to use since we didn't pack any.
- 5/5
Great pool and check-in. Convenient location.
- 4/5
Great location and comfortable. Airport conditioner was broken and they needed to come into room to fix while we were there.
- 5/5
Excellent location, very friendly and warm staff, beach towels and chairs and umbrellas available, spacious room. Very happy with our stay overall.
- 5/5
Perfectly located next to the beach & restaurants. Will definitely be returning.
- 3/5
Great location, big room. Free parking and area to warm food. Mattresses are really bad it was like sleeping on a water bed! Shower could be cleaner, small areas of black mold. And Kirkland coffee was not good. Would stay again if there was absolutely no other place to stay in this price range. This property which was built in 1949 could be stellar with just a few changes!
- 4/5
Surely recommended.
- 5/5
Nice pool and location
- 5/5
Great location.
- 4/5
Nice size room, close to the beach and everything, nice pool, noise air conditioning and sometimes the surroundings. Great location!
- 5/5
Spotless comfortable room, friendly and accommodating staff that went above and beyond. Well located with easy walk into town. Great stay!
- 5/5
FREE parking was a major bonus. In the room you'll find 4 cans of electrolyte infused water, 2 packs of Milano cookies and coffee/tea with all the fixins. The shower was really nice and I loved the provided toiletries. There was an assortment of books little reading lamps over the beds. They even provide ear plugs in case the noise from the PCH gets loud, but we didn't need them. And the chef's kiss was a handwritten card welcoming us. Its the little things when you're traveling and they thought of it all and more. After getting settled, I enjoyed the pool to myself for a few hours, which I was shocked because the space is so cute but it was a sunny saturday and the beach is only about an 8min walk down the hill, so most guests strolled down there or tackled the steps at Heisler. Heiser Park can be accessed right across the street. A perfect place for a sunset stroll admiring the sculptures and cliffside views. We dined at Royal Hawaiian. Excellent food and drinks with live music. I scheduled this one-night pitstop during our trip up the coast solely to check out the Thousand Steps Beach Cave, which is actually about 250 steps - nothing to scoff at and I consider the lingering thigh pain my trophy for getting up before dawn and conqering the steps down in the dark to insure I got to the cave at low tide and the surrounding tide pools. Such a cool experience. Highly recommend if you can make the 250 stair climb back out. Worth the stop and feel like we chose the perfect place to stay. Would definitely stay here again for a few nights. The air conditioner leaked a little and one of the bedside lamps wasnt working but neither really affected our stay, and I'd really have to nitpick to find something wrong with the Tides.
- 3/5
The Room was Large, very clean Beds and The Beds were very comfortable. Shower needs upgrade,They need newer furniture and they need Better air conditioning. We didn't like the stairs as I'm Elderly with back problems.Channel selection wasn't Very Good on Tv.No microwave and we were upstairs facing the Ally which we didn't like. Staff was mediocre. The price was Good.paying 245.00 for 1 night, with 2 queen Beds and 3 adults, very Good price.Pool was very clean,I prefer fresh to Salt.No hot tub.Needed larger Tv. OVER ALL I WOULD GIVE IT 3 STARS
- 3.5/5
Really nice staff at checking in and very clean bedding, I got a room upstairs There’s a lot of noise from the back alley
- 4/5
Location, location, location! Loved the pool, staff and affordability. You could hear people walking past so bring a sound machine.
- 4.5/5
The property is located in a great spot in Laguna Beach. It’s easy to walk up to all the shops and restaurants. Our room with kitchenette was super clean and decently appointed. The staff was friendly and may check in easy.
- 4/5
Friendly accommodating staff.GreT location
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The room was cozy and clean. The rooms were quiet for the most part. The pool is salt water which was nice. 5 min walk to the beach 15 min walk to town. Noisy neighbors up stairs.
- 5/5
Exceptionally clean, great location,
- 4/5
A bit noisy from highway and I could hear the people upstairs walking around until 1am. Maybe a rug up there would help. People were enjoying the pool Reception was very nice and there was two cans of water and a pack of cookies in the the very clean room.
- 4.5/5
While everything was nice and clean, it could use some slight updating. Otherwise, the place is great. I wish the sodas in the vending machine weren't 4 dollars but I guess that's the way of the world now.
- 5/5
The staff was very kind, the location amazing! The king room was huge and updated with separate vanity area that includes mini fridge, coffee maker, and clothes rod. Super clean with really comfy bed, linens and pillows. We did not use pool area that looked lovely with a fire pit at night.
- 5/5
The beds were good with alot of pillows. The room was clean and quite usable. I do recommend the Tides
- 5/5
everything was fine
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and respectful. The location was very convenient and ideal if you don't want to drive a lot. The hotel had great amenities. The room was very clean, unique, and beautiful.

- 5/5
Yes great job cleaning room
- 5/5
We are having an amazing time
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful. We forgot our phone charger and they lent us one. Gave us tips on how to use the free trolley. We didn't swim, but we did enjoy sitting by the pool.
- 5/5
Very clean room. Goid location
- 5/5
Very quick and friendly check in
- 5/5
Parking wasn’t bad, but spots on the smaller side. Besides that it was clean and a good location to walk down.
- 5/5
Great location, nice, clean hotel with good parking and pool.
- 5/5
Beyond expectations for a hotel room, felt truly hygienic and well-cared for.
- 5/5
Great location and charming ambience.
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The environment was warm and friendly, the king bed in the room was fantastic. The staff were very accommodating. Thank you so much and we look forward to another stay hopefully soon!
- 5/5
Clean and quaint. Perfect location.
- 5/5
Anderson, our host could not have been more accommodating. The room was clean, the parking convenient, housekeeping excellent and the price very reasonable for the location.
- 5/5
Good stuuf
- 5/5
This was the perfect place to stay. Convenient to the beach and dining. The staff were great and welcoming and took care of all of my needs. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
This place has everything you need including a nice heated pool.
- 5/5
First the extra touches that we loved: a Christmas wreath on the door (so cute) and a handwritten note personalized for our arrival. Second, we loved the location. And getting the kitchenette option was perfect for us! It made us feel like we were in a little home. It's an unfussy hotel made for you to do the basics -- shower, sleep, and eat if you bring your own goodies. When you're staying in Laguna this close to everything, you don't really need a full-service hotel. The point is to have a place to sleep that is convenient, and The Tides is VERY convenient. And the setup was perfect for my husband, me, and our pups. We plan to return. It was the perfect place for us to feel cozy at night. And just bounce out onto the street in the morning to get our day started.
- 5/5
staff was very nice. room was very clean.
- 5/5
Very nice. I love that’s it within walking distance of downtown Laguna.
- 5/5
Amazing location, well - lit private staircase to my room for safe entry and sensor lights, great room with small kitchen, free parking spot, nice staff who left a lovely handwritten welcome note and waters and milano cookie upon arrival, I would definitely stay here again if not wanting a hot tub. This hotel is great value and in the best location!!
- 5/5
Great place period.
- 2/5
Staff was nice. Location was nice. The bed was very uncomfortable. Lumpy, uneven, no support, all around uncomfortable. Certain areas of the flooring seemed patched over and dangerous to stand on. The bed was bad enough that my girlfriend and I decided to drive the 45 minutes home at 11:30 pm.
- 3/5
Plus someone’s alarm clock rang loud at 6am for about an hour. I will not stay here again.
- 5/5
First time staying here. Great rates. Excellent location close to downtown Laguna Beach. Super clean, light and bright, excellent staff. We will happily stay here again.
- 5/5
This hotel is a gem and I will definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Great location. Access to restaurants, beaches and shopping.
- 5/5
I've stayed at the Tides 3 times and it's always a treat. Feels like staying at a friends house with a pool!
- 5/5
The front desk gentleman, Anderson was a pleasure to work with. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and our stay was very nice. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
This is a great place. It was close to everything and the price was very reasonable.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect!! Thank you.
- 5/5
The room we stayed in was very clean, the shower was nice , the air conditioner worked great. The only con was we slept on the bottom floor and the people upstairs right above our room stayed up all night long both nights, we could hear everything, every little noise, so when they would walk around it literally sound like they were stomping when they would walk. My husband and I made this trip as our 19 year wedding anniversary and were hoping to rest, sleep in and enjoy ourselves away from our kids, our dogs etc. Next time I make this trip I will definitely make sure NOT to book a dowstair room. The front desk gentleman was friendly and polite.
- 3/5
I do not like old furniture.
- 5/5
Great place and great service! However, our room had an extremely small shower due to the property’s 80 plus years since opening. Besides that, great place to stay on PCH without spending a fortune.
- 5/5
Had a wonderful family stay here, boogie boards and beach chairs were a nice surprise! A few room repairs need tending to, but overall great place with chill vibe.
- 4/5
Everyone working there was helpful, welcoming, and appreciative. We had a very nice room on the top floor facing the ocean. The location of The Tides is what makes it so special. We never needed to use our car. Restaurants, art galleries, lovely shops, entertainment, and the breathtaking views of the ocean from the nearby paved trail were all within walking distance even for me, a woman in her 70s. We hope to return someday.
- 5/5
Coziest place to stay by the sea, especially if you want something simple and quaint. The only issue was the connection to the wifi. Other than that, the husband and I agreed we'd choose to stay at this place again
- 5/5
Great place! Very clean, updated, and great location to the places we wanted to access. We would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
Awesome convenient motel. Staff was friendly and accommodating and we really enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Room was nice 😊 and comfortable. Excellent place to stay and make a memory.
- 5/5
A regular annual weekend spot for us. Very comfortable and always a fun visit to Laguna Beach
- 5/5
The Tides was so cute. Very welcoming with a perfect location to easily walk to shopping, dining, beaches etc. plus they have free parking. Rates were very reasonable compared to other nearby properties. Building is old so you can hear pretty much everything in adjacent rooms but that is the only flaw. Will definitely return.
- 5/5
Thank you again for another fabulous stay! Perfection!🥰❣️
- 5/5
I loved the quirky feel of the place
- 4/5
This is a lovely little hotel close to everything in Laguna. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. The pool and deck area are wonderful and well kept and there are sweet touches like a hand written note on arrival. The beds are really comfortable and I appreciate that parking is included! The only reason I’m rating this hotel 4/5 is because the water pressure and temperature in the shower were horrible. The water trickled and the water kept changing temperature every couple of minutes. Furthermore, the air conditioning unit was located right next to one of the beds, so if you wanted any air, it was blowing directly onto someone. If these minor inconveniences don’t bother you, everything else about the stay is fantastic!
- 5/5
I loved this motel. Front desk was friendly and knowledgable about things to do in Laguna with advice on directions and free transportation. The Tides Laguna was in walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants and Pageant of the Masters. I was upgraded to a second floor room which was spacious with a full kitchen and a quaint dining area with a full table and chairs and antique plates from various state on the wall. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, the rooms were immaculate with plenty of air conditioning if needed. Plus, there was free parking a must in this busy beach town. I will definitely, book another stay at The Tides Laguna Beach in the future.
- 4/5
They have such clean, nice and comfortable space. The pool and grill area is awesome and clean. Anderson is truly awesome i believe he is the manager. Is helpful and so polite. Ran into a slight issue with the plumbing and he was all over it. Also it is literally walking distance from the beach and main entrance to the park. Couldnt have asked for more.
- 5/5
Attentive, helpful and kind staff.
- 5/5
As always a pleasant stay, clean, comfortable and enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
- 2/5
I booked the room for 3 people to find at check in that the room did not have a bed for the 3rd. person. I got charged additional $25 for a foldable bed
- 5/5
Staff was very accommodating!
- 5/5
Great location for attending events, dining and going to the beach, all at a reasonable rate for the area and with a charm that is a true throwback to an era gone by..
- 5/5
Great little motel in Laguna Beach within walking distance to beach and town. We wanted an easy staycation where we could park by our room, bring our own drinks to the pool and walk to restaurants and the beach. The Tides checked all the boxes. We also had a kitchenette which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend if you want something simple and reasonable.
- 5/5
Housekeeping wasn't done cleaning my room when I arrived, so they offered me another room, which turned out to be a spacious suite that was quiet and comfortable despite facing the street. Excellent restful stay, walking distance from the beach and Pageant of the Masters.
- 4/5
Location is great. Close to everything and the trolley line. Nice to have the pool after a day out and about
- 5/5
So close to Heisler Park, beaches, LPAPA and restaurants. Living La Vida Laguna!
- 4/5
An easy walk or ( free ) Trolley ride to downtown or the beaches. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
We love staying here every summer! The location is perfect and the beds are so comfortable 😌. See you next year!
- 5/5
Beautifully landscaped property with a spacious hotel room. Loved the seperate dining area and bedroom and kitchen. Very convenient for families with children.
- 5/5
Beautiful, close to the beach, clean, and laid back.
- 5/5
Ty for everthing

- 5/5
"The property was meticulously maintained, reflecting great care and attention to detail throughout our stay. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
Basic motel for a good price. Easy access.
- 4/5
Employees were all very polite.
- 5/5
Great location, walkable distance to the beach. Clean and quiet. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Absolutely great value for the money. Super convenient location, plenty of parking, nice pool and updated rooms and nice amenities. Rooms with kitchenette make the stay so much more comfortable. Well maintained, friendly staff and rooms with charm and character.
- 5/5
Everything was great. It smells like flowers on the whole property. The place is so well kept. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in this place. They also have beach stuff for you to use. Pool was great and the outdoor fireplace. Zero complaints.
- 5/5
Our room was great! We loved having a little kitchenette! The beach was super easy to get to and the hotel staff was very nice and helpful with beach towels and boogie boards! This is definitely an older motel, but our room was clean and we couldn’t beat the price. We loved that there were coffee shops and a grocery store nearby as well.
- 5/5
I like the eclectic rooms at this inn. It’s location a block from Heisler Park is a big plus as is the free parking.
- 5/5
Our 2nd time staying here. I love the personalized thank you card and unique decor in the room. Thank you!
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay in Laguna for the price. It's super close to everything and even though it's not right on the beach, it might as well be! We enjoyed our time here. I just wish there was some outside seating, it looked like some units had it but our top one did not. Otherwise 10/10
- 5/5
I love this hotel, it’s location is perfect
- 5/5

Conveniently located, always clean, always courteous. Not a fancy facility but each room is unique and comfortable. Our go to place when we go to Laguna.

Very nice stay for us. Comfortable and home like setting.

We stayed in room 102 with the full kitchen. It was really spacious. The walk to the beach was quick.

I've stayed at the Tides before and enjoyed it. This trip I had my family with me and we all loved the homey cottage vibe, the friendliness of the staff, and the walkability and convienience to everything in Laguna. Very comfortable hotel, will definitely be back!

It was clean and convenient. In our particular room, the shower was as tiny as in a cruise ship and the door’s location could make it inaccessible to a larger person. Only stayed one night and it was more than adequate.

This place is great if you are staying in Laguna Beach. It was close to the beach, it had a full kitchen and parking. Loved our stay.

For the price, The Tides is a good place to stay if you want to be in Laguna Beach. The staff, Anderson and Sarah, were very helpful and the rooms was clean. The only thing is it is in need of an update. It's old and dated. The beds are just ok, the kitchenette could be better equipped, there were no napkins or paper towels for example. If you don't mind that, it's a nice place to stay for the price, if you want to be in Laguna.

Our favorite Laguna Beach stay - even more so than properties several times the cost. Everyone who works there is so kind, and the rooms are perfect for families. The kitchenette facilities are so convenient. Also, this inn has hands down the warmest heated pool. We’ve comfortably enjoyed it in December and January - it’s amazing.

tThe staff was lovely and very accomodating.

Our family comes to Laguna Beach twice a year and we stay in various places in the area. Now that we have stayed here this year, we will be coming back again and again. The room we got was really an apartment. It had a full kitchen, dining area, large closet, large bedroom and a bathroom. We had a lot of light, super clean and so many towels! It is walking distance to everything, and only thing I would be aware of is to wear the ear plugs they give you in case of any patrol sirens on PCh. Other than that, our stay was lovely!

It’s been our 3rd or 4th time at the Tides. We love this unique vintage and affordable hotel. It’s well within walking distance to the beach, Heisler Park and many restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We’ve never had issues with parking and the rooms are spotless clean. Until next time!

We thought this was a wonderful little motel and a good value! The staff was super welcoming and helpful, and the rooms were renovated and very cute. Comfortable beds, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, bottled water and lots of quaint touches like games and books. Easy covered parking and a nice little pool. Also really convenient to the beach, dining etc. Excellent front desk service and good WIFi. Highly recommended!

The hot water was slow to get hot and the microwave wasn’t working right.

The Tides is fantastic. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The location is so great for beach access and short stroll down to shops and restaurants. This was our second stay here and we would love to stay again sometime.

Snall quiet mom and pop feel.

I could have stayed for a month! The room was simple - spacious, the kitchenette was useful, the little patio outside our door was great, the gentleman onsite was exceptionally friendly and responsive. We'd stay there again!
- 5/5
Nice and clean space, convenient location.

This hotel was conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and just a short walk from the beach. The free summer trolly stops just a half a block away also which was nice for when we were loaded down with beach gear and or groceries. The rooms are a little dated and rustic, but charming and perfectly adequate. The provided linens and toiletries were very high quality. The hotel staff was very friendly and provided beach towels and chairs which was really nice. The pool and pool area was very nice. Parking was very tight so if you have a larger vehicle it could be very tricky to park safely, but once you do park there's no need to drive again until it's time to leave. All in all this was a nice place for a quick weekend vacation and I would recommend.

Just fine

This was really a cute little hotel. It had everything that you could need, was walking distance to town, it’s near an incredible breakfast place (Urth Cafe). They had beach chairs, towels to use and a beach 2 blocks away. A perfect little getaway!!!

Classic beach town hotel with excellent location and staff. 204 had great kitchenette and king bed. Salt water pool was so relaxing/refreshing. We loved the tides.
- 3/5
It’s clean and convenient to the Pageant of the Masters. The hand-written note welcoming us was a nice touch. However, we would have rather gotten some lotion and a shower cap in the bathroom instead of the note. The checkout time posted inside the room is different than the one listed online. Had to call the main office to clear that up. No one was at the desk for checkout. Overall, it’s an average hotel. No
