The Ranch at Laguna Beach

This property is beautiful, comfortable and a must stay for anybody visiting the area.

We had friends join us for a round of golf and we had a blast! The other golfers were laid back and the course was ideal for a fun afternoon of golf. Beautiful views along the way didn’t hurt either. Dinner on the outdoor patio afterwards was delicious too. Highly recommend The Ranch - I will be back with my husband or a group of girlfriends soon!

Ants and blood on sheets of room, had to push for a new room and then received little to no apology for the whole situation.

We had a massage. I believe my therapist’s name is Erica. She was wonderful! They have live music and a patio with fireplaces to relax. We did enjoy that area a few times. The staff were all very well trained; super polite and couldn’t be more helpful. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the food. They have golf carts to take you to the beach. We had a wonderful time there relaxing in the chairs they provide. We will definitely stay again if we travel to that area again. Thank you

Absolutely loved the Ranch and already planning to return next year. The staff is extremely accommodating, the property is beautiful and secluded but still very close to a lovely beach and a quick drive to the Mai strip in town. The rooms are fresh, well designed and have a great local aesthetic.

We really loved this unique property. The food is incredible! And the staff is super super friendly! The golf course added a unique fun things that our family got to do that we normally wouldn’t have. The views are stunning! And even though it’s not on the beach, it’s very easy to get to.

Beautiful landscape and scenery, tucked away on the Canyon. Upscale environment, very nice updated rooms, amazing food, one of the best 9 hole courses in SoCal!

Loved the cozy farm-to-table vibe. Service was perfect and food was exceptional.

Be aware that there are approximately $100 per day fees added to the final bill. Maybe I missed it, but that would be a good thing to know before booking a room. I booked this room and paid in advance. No mention of this when I checked in. But what difference would that make at that time . Reminded me of Vegas hotels. I probably won’t stay here again because of this.

Everything stands out! The launch offers a spectacular experience that makes us want to stay longer. And we will the next time. The room is spacious with various lighting options. The tea selection is always unique for the area. The dining at the Harvest is our every meal choice. Mostly everyone is smiling and make us feel at home.

We stayed two nights at this property the property is nice but on the second day we asked to have our room cleaned and turned down with Fresh Linen and when we went to dinner that evening expecting to come back to a clean room they never even got to us and said that they weren't able to do it so we had to stay the second night in a dirty room with dirty linen when I confronted the manager they apologized and said that they would comp me for two nights And I had said thank you very much that that was very reasonable but after I left the resort and came home I never got the compensation that I was told I was going to get so word of advice always get something in writing when there is some sort of negotiation that is being done

Older property lacking amenities for 5*. No ceiling fan in room w/ Airco barely keeping room cool, thin walls where we heard neighbor conversations, safe and phone didn’t work in room. Only stayed one night for staycation night out but not overwhelmed based on $$$$ price

A weekend at the Ranch was refreshing, Took the farm tour which was informative & fun. The walk to the beach is easy. Onsite restaurant Harvest was great food & ambience, We will be back,

The staffing was amazing, Greg and Garrett among the rest of the staffing have all been amazing and friendly! Food was great, the room service was quick and easy to order. the rooms were cleaned and comfortable. We will stay again a great hidden gem in Laguna

Very nice heated pool area . Nicely shaded grounds with canyon setting . Easy walk on the path way down to alesio beach where you can get chairs and umbrellas at lost pier cafe showing your room key . Pricey restaurants on hotel site but the food was very good .

What a beautiful little resort tucked into the mountains. The rooms were large and clean. The pool area was nice and not crowded. Harvest had wonderful breakfast. We played 2 rounds of 9 holes it is a small and walkable course. All the staff were super helpful and nice.

We just stayed in a canyon view room here for our 25th wedding anniversary. Absolutely beautiful, quiet and relaxing. One of our favorite says along the California coast so far.

We had a nice and comfortable stay. Needed a staycation and this definitely hit the spot. The farm tour and their sustainability efforts are also a big plus. Would definitely recommend and be back. Kudos to the staff!

Absolute gorgeous grounds, def a 4 star experience vs 5 star though (many little things here and there that can be improved) but overall it was a great experience. Will def consider staying here again.

It’s a nice place and it doesn’t feel like the heart of Orange County. Facilities like the pool and gym are a little bland and could be a little more like a resort and less like a motel but still cool.

Nice to not have to valet. Beautiful anniversary gift of chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. Grounds are beautiful. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and clean. Nice walk to the beach.

Golf course was amazing and the greenery

We stayed at The Ranch for our son’s wedding weekend. We had our adult daughter stay with us, so the suite was a perfect option. The suite was very spacious so we were able to invite the bride’s family to hang out for a bit in our room. The walk-in closet kept out clothes and luggage out of site while we entertained, and the double vanity was great for make-up and hair prep before the wedding. The bonus was the quick transportation in the golf cart to get to the on-site restaurant. It’s a beautiful setting, nestled in the hills away from hustle and bustle of town.

The area that the hotel is nestled within it’s extremely nice, the main building adds a nice ambience. However, the hotel rooms while updated, still provide the appearance of an older establishment. The pool is quite small and can fill up very quickly. Additionally, the images of the beach utilized to promote this hotel are of a near by public beach, and while it works, it is somewhat misleading for those looking for more exclusive getaway.

The Ranch at Laguna Beach is one of my favorite properties in the world. The serene setting in the canyon is unbelievable. Add that to the farm-to-table restaurant, amazing golf course, and incredibly friendly, attentive staff and this resort deserves to be rated one of the top in the world. It feels like a luxury getaway and home all at the same time. Cannot speak highly enough about our experience here, and will be returning soon.

Pretty much perfect but let down by awful sound insulation between rooms. Could follow the conversation of the neighbours and their nighttime grunts and groans have traumatised me.

Lovely and relaxed stay. Free shuttle service into town. Beach close by. Staff lovely and very happy and helpful. You can’t really walk anywhere- the walk up the hotel is very dark. They should have a security or barrier as it’s very open and we did see random people fishing at 11pm. Would be good if it was a little more secure. Phones needed to contact reception on the grounds- our key wasn’t working and we had to walk ages to reception.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the ranch at Laguna. We were able to enjoy the pool on site as well as being a quick walk to the beach, which was really lovely. It was a great romantic getaway for a long weekend!

Goof

We fell upon this property by accident when the hotel we usually stay at in town was closed for remodeling. What a wonderful reprieve this resort is. It is beautiful, quiet, just a 10 minute walk to the beach and there restaurant on the beach. If you don’t have a car and have to shuttle into town, they will either give you a ride to where the city shuttle picks up or you can get an Uber. The only negative, and it is only negative if you don’t have Wi-Fi calling, is it there are very few places on the property that have cell phone service. But they all have Wi-Fi calling. We will definitely be back

Make sure you know that self parking is 25$ a day. This was not discussed on check in. So add it to the overall price.

Awesome experience. Very quite place and near to beach. Excellent customer service. But few veg options in the meal but the restaurant manager did his best to figure out a veg pasta dish and a salad from menu for our dinner. If you want a quote and relaxing place , go for it.

Amazing location, ambiance, and stay...the staff was awesome and this is such a unique resort located in the heart of Laguna but feels like you are in a rural forest.

This is not the Pelican or the Pendry, this is a very pleasant change.

It has a circa 1960's upscale ranch vibe. There are a couple of restaurants on site and a pool bar. There is a great 9 hole golf course that is both fun and challenging. There is also a spa that is frequented by locals as well as hotel.guests. The customer service is outstanding. Every employee i encountered during my visit made the stay more enjoyable. I will definitely return for another visit.

The staff and service was amazing. Only issue was cell service was horrible. At times my phone would not work at all.

I love this place and I’m looking forward to returning. The room pricing was very reasonable. The room was very nice and clean, parking was very convenient, the restaurants food and staff was outstanding. The hotel entire staff was amazing. The only issue I had was I went into the golf shop and was totally ignored. I walked around the small shop and was never greeted or asked if I needed anything and another young man walked in and he was addressed immediately I was disappointed and I walked out. I will say this I’m not a person that is easily unnoticed when I go places so I felt it was done on purpose.

The location is beautiful. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are very comfy and cute!

I loved the quiet and woodsy feeling away from the busy touristy streets , yet at walking distance from shops and restaurants. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable. In particular, the bed sheets were very comfortable and silky feeling. We loved the complimentary long robes and slippers.. the staff was friendly and helpful.

Farmer Mackenzie and Lisa were the superstars and really made our anniversary special. We might just make this a yearly tradition!

For the price, some things did not measure up. The views are great, golf course is beautiful. I heard a “beeping” truck ALL day starting at 6am. There is no PC to use if you want to print something. You must go to the front desk. There was limited hot water the morning I left. It ran out after 5 mins. The “spa” has a sauna, but you can only use it if you get a message or so I was told. It should be open to anyone. I would only stay agin if the it was less expensive.

This was a 1 night getaway for us (we're locals), so we wanted a quiet place with good on-site dining. What we got was maintenance noise starting at 7:03 am which sounded like a truck was backing up into our room (for 25 non-stop minutes!) We tried all the food options on-site were served very average food, including in a very noisy Harvest restaurant- which sounded more like a Bar. Also, we noticed at night when we walked around that most of the rooms were empty. If the staff would have had any consideration at all - knowing that they are preparing for an event and that there would be noise around the building we stayed - they should have set us up in another building farther away and maybe with a view better than the opposing buidlings old air conditioning units. If the room itself was not nice we would have given this a 1 star because they really failed in everything else!

Walking path to beach is a small dirt path alongside the road where cars drive. No walking path from room to main hotel lobby/restaurant/reception hall, you have to walk in the street with cars. When we called for the golf cart transport for an evening event from our room to main reception, delay over 15 min so we walked in the street with cars instead, there should be more staff available or scheduling available for big events

For what is being charged, the room lacks amenities- milk for coffee, no wine glasses, no fruit, no gift wine, etc.

This place was more like a high end motel. So overpriced! We won’t be back.

I would not recommend The Ranch at Laguna Beach at all. Not only is the staff rude, they were very incompetent when we asked various basic questions such as breakfast times, transportation, gym times, etc. In addition, the internet and cellular connection is incredibly limited so it was impossible to communicate outside. This made coordinating UBER and pick-ups virtually impossible. A very over-priced stay considering how inconvenient it is and how poor the service was.

The pool area, spa and service at the pool bar were great. Harvest restaurant was a good experience as well. The overall feel of the property which was more of a golfing camp/lodge and was not what I was envisioning for the price point. The road to get to the ranch and the 'walkway' to the public beach leave more to be desired from a over $1000/night. The appearance of the cabins are again lacking for the price point. The website description of the multiple dining options is misleading, as there is really only two accessible options - grab and go, and Harvest. The staff were less helpful, having to ask for basic requests more than 4 times (e.g., extra blanket in the room).

We love staying here to get away from LA for the weekend. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoy walking to the beach and riding the trolley. The food is excellent as well as the staff. Room are super comfortable too. Our kids love the pool and playing bocce ball every time! It would be great if they added s’mores or hot chocolate in the evenings for them. Will return!

This hotel is very lovely and in a beautiful location. It is also really close to the other things to do in Laguna Beach. The only small complaint is that the beds are squeaky. Roll over in the middle of the night and wake your partner up squeaky. They werent overly uncomfortable, however. It just depends on how sensitive you are to that.

We loved this place, quiet, clean and amazingly fresh air. We just didn't like the mattress. It was extremily soft and uncomfortable. Also it was very disappointing to be charged for a water that we requested trough room service. When I brought it up to the front desk during the check out, she stated that they don't charge for the water and she took off the charge immediately. I hope this will be brought up to the person's attention who charged us for 3(was ordered 2) water that was supposed to be free, changes the impression about the staff and the report.

For what we paid for our villa, there should’ve been a kitchenette inside, so that we could do dishes… Have a larger refrigerator… And cook food.

Perfect location.

I realized (after the fact) that I used my Expedia points for the stay and the hotel gave me the worst room on the property - room 101 (even though the hotel was not filled to capacity). It’s where the resort road forks and captures all in/out going traffic, therefore, it captures all the traffic noise. I stayed here during a work trip as a scout mission to potentially take my family for an extended trip one day. Since I don’t subscribe to punishing guests for using third party booking platforms, I’ll find an alternative family get away. The 9 hole golf course is idyllic.
